The APG crew brings life to aviation. Every podcast is a joy!
This is a great podcast. It took 2 episodes and I was hooked. Now I can't stop. Good job guys!
IPA's and Airplanes, two of my favorites things! I love their insight into the aviation world. I was a paratrooper (82nd Abn Div) in the early 90's. I especailly appreciate that Capt. Jeff flew the C-141 Starlifter. Maybe he drove a night or two while I was falling out of the aft section. Keep it up.
Very interesting, informative and allot of fun. I enjoy and look forward to the next episode every week. Thank you, Mike...
I'm not a huge fan of the hassle that flying has become, however I am a huge fan of this educational and entertaining podcast.
Capt Jeff has the best personality for a Podcast and provides fascinating information on the airline industry. Still can't figure out if he flys for Delta or American. Living in the South our only choice is Atlanta so maybe one day I will see the guy with the mustache walking down the terminal. Thank you for a wonderful entertaining show.
Love this pod cast. I learn so much about flying planes and aviation each week. Podcasts are sometimes almost 3 hours long -- wish they were longer !
Capt. Jeff delivers an informative podcast to be sure but his easy going, humorous delivery is what makes listening so enjoyable. He has added two co-hosts: Miami Rick - who flys wide body Boeings and is an encyclopedia of aviation and Dr. Stephanie who is a GA pilot and adds the private pilot perspective. If I could only listen to one podcast it would be Airline Pilot Guy!
This is one of the best Aviation cast ever. The addition of Miami Rick and Dr. Steph has made it my favorite one! Keep the good work!!
One of (If not) the best aviation podcast out there, keep it up Captian Jeff!
Just can't wait for the weekly podcast. The interplay between Cap'n Jeff, Miami Ricapedia and Dr. Steph is not only informative but entertaining. Listening on the long commute makes me forget about those bozos in the other lanes and I don't even get upset if I'm late to my destination, as long as their on. Good way to spend time hearing about my passion with flight. Just turn down the bumper volume Jeff and throttle Ric back to 1/2 speed.
Excellent podcast. Captain Jeff makes you feel like you're right there with him and the crew. Miami Rick's knowledge on aircraft systems is incredible. Great format with the news and aviation events of the week.
I look forward to this podcast every week and Captain Jeff delivers. He, Dr Steph, and Miami Rick talk like regular people. They aren't trying to be radio hosts. They are authentic and friendly and enjoy talking about all things aviation. They have fun but not at someone's else's expense. I can't say enough good things. They are just good people.
Check out this podcast. If you are an Aviation Geek you will not be disappointed and if you're not an AvGeek, you'll probably become one after listening to an episode. Capt. Jeff, Miami Rick, and Dr. Steph are good. I always learn something and never fail to get a couple of good laughs each episode. Can't go wrong with this one. Give it a listen.
I have unsubscribed to this podcast. Capt Jeff has alwys done things at his own pace and that's okay. But now with his "co-hosts" the Airline Pilot Guy show has become one hour of information (at best) mixed with two hours of him and his co-hosts laughing at their own jokes. I found myself fast-forwarding through more of the show than I was listening to.
Doesn't get much better than this. If you love aviation, you'll love The airline pilot guy show! Come join the best community of aviation lovers as we take a peak into the life on "the other side" of the cockpit door!
A perfect podcast for anyone who is an AVGEEK! I think normal people will enjoy it as well.. Thanks to Capt Jeff for the great ear candy😃👍✈️
I absolutely love the work Captain Jeff puts into this podcast every week. Keep up the good work in keeping us informed!
I love this show, captain Jeff is quite eloquent and speaks from years of experience. I like his sense of humor.
I found the podcast about 8 months ago. I am a transitioning military pilot to the civilian part 121 world. Listening to Capt Jeff has given me insight into the part 121 world that I would not have access to otherwise. Thanks for taking the time to make such a helpful podcast. Dave
By far my favorite aviation podcast!
This guy is so awesome and he answers every question as a pilot with so many years would.
Captain Jeff's wonderful radio voice explains the complicated concepts in aviation with ease and accuracy. I'm not a pilot, and he makes everything easy to understand and answers a broad range of listener questions every week. The show is largely based on listener questions and feedback, so it inherently stays current and relevant. If you have even the slightest interest in flying/aviation, give this podcast a go! I never miss an episode and look forward to the next one each week.
This Podcast is fantastic! Not complex or flashy, it has a simple structure. Captain Jeff's personality shines through and I feel as if I'm being talked to by a longtime friend more so than listening to a podcast. News bits are up to date and the open forum for feedback is excellent for any question, from a fellow seasoned aviator to a younger listener who's only dreamed of flying. There's something for everyone! So fasten your seat belts, ensure your tray tables and seat backs are in the upright and locked position, and welcome aboard the Airline Pilot Guy Podcast!
I have about an hour commute each way depending on NYC traffic. Capt. Jeff makes the long trip feel a lot shorter and much more pleasant. Strongly recommend to any aviation enthusiast.
Never miss an episode!!!!!
Both entertaining and educating. Thx for all your opinions and explanations.
Always entertaining, informative and very interesting. Capt Jeff truely loves to make sure ALL his listeners and YouTube viewers feedback is answered completely. Look forward to his podcast every week. Time listening is a bit long, but truely "flys" by very quickly!
Started listening to Captain Jeff after appearing on The Airplane Geeks and he instantly became a must listen every week. Informative and fun Capn Jeff alsways provides CAVU conditions and winds where you need them. It's a pilot thing ... an aviation enthusiast thing ... an IPA loving, a Java Jive loving thing. Give Jeff at listen ... you'll be glad you did.
I started listening several months ago and am currently listening to Episode 41 from September, 2012. I'm behind, yes, but I plan to listen to every episode. Captain Jeff brings a unique perspective to the aviation enthusiast's podcast - an insider's perspective, essentially. And each show is jammed pack with interesting and surprising facts and other pieces of news from the world of aviation. I also like that he delivers his podcast with candor and a likeability anyone can appreciate. I got a long way to go before I catch up, but I'm enjoying each and every time I turn on my iPod. Keep 'em coming Captain Jeff!
Truth be told, I'm not even sure how I found this podcast, but I'm hooked on the information and entertainment it contains. I'm not a pilot. I didn't even know I was interested in aviation. Apparently I ~am~ interested because I've been listening to Capt. Jeff's show for several months now. Even though I've got a lot of catching up to do, I look forward to each new show and his take "on the view from his side of the cockpit door."
Remember how, when as a child, walking through a crowded airport terminal, you had this interminable list of questions and only wished an airline pilot would give you just 3 minutes of his time to answer maybe one or two of them? Well, Captain Jeff Nielsen is the guy who would. This podcast focuses -masterfully- on the airline side of flight operations and on how airline pilots deal with the ins and outs of life behind the cockpit door. No matter what your question is, Jeff will strive to provide an accurate and simple answer and therein lies the success of his great show. Enjoy!!
Top notch, informative and entertaining. Capt Jeff's soothing voice and wealth of aviation knowledge is a weekly must have for #AvGeeks.
I recommend this PODCAST, done by a real airline pilot for a real airline. He doesn’t say it, but you’ll figure out which one…great information for flying, whether you’re spot in the plane is back with the passengers, or forward with (or as) the ‘driver’, you will probably be interested as I am in what he has to say. I would salute him and do what he says, on the plane, but on the ground, i’d buy the first round!
Educational and entertaining. Plus a soothing pilot voice.
This is the most interesting podcast I could find on the web!
Just started listening from the begining and I can't stop!
I look forward to the Airline Pilot Guy podcasts because they are fun, interesting, and a great way to keep learning about airline operations!
I really enjoy this podcast -- it's my favorite. As a wannabe pilot, Capt. Jeff's calm and detailed descriptions help me get my aviation fix each week. I've learned a ton of interesting facts from his podcasts and he explains the arcane world of an airline pilot in a patient yet not patronizing way. I hope he continues podcasting for many years to come.
What a great podcast! Captain Jeff does a great job explaining the ins and outs of commercial air travel from the pilot's perspective. I'm not gonna lie, I do enjoy listening to his podcast as I'm going to sleep. It's kind of like watching Bob Ross painting the happy little trees on PBS. Very relaxing! That being said, I always finish every episode and look forward to the next. Which leaves me with these two questions: Where can I buy tickets on Acme Airlines and how much are tickets to Vegas?
This show is very informative. Of all the aviation related podcasts out there this is one of the best
I enjoy the topics and the detail from the flight deck (I'm just a private pilot). The only thing that's making this a 3 stars instead of five is there is a lot of unneeded fluff that could be edited out, like listening to a long winded teacher. The hour long podcast could easily be 30 minutes, with the same great content, if it was edited. I find myself using the 1.5x button on the podcast player to make it flow faster, or the 15 second skip forward, and I find I don't miss anything. Pause the recording, or edit out unneeded bits where things are repeated, looked up, silence, filler, etc... Take an hour, and dissect the podcast, leaving in truly the essential knowledge. Ask "does this sentence (content) add "value" to this podcast?" and if not, cut it out. Please take this as constructive criticism, since I'd love to listen to it more often, and would if it was condensed. It has great topics, inside info, and I learn a lot.
Informative, interesting, and keeps me entertained. This is a great podcast for anyone interested in aviation, I look forward to each episode.
Capt. Jeff is the best podcaster I have ever heard of, and this is his best podcast because it is about aviation and it is mostly secular. I love the listener feedback format! This is the best podcast I've ever listened to.
As a former Line Maintenance technician at Acme Airlines , I appreciate hearing Capt. Jeff's spin on things from the front office of the Mad Dogs I used to maintain and instruct on. His perspective on life at Acme and the airline industry is great to listen to on my rides to and from work. Although my job now of Maintenance Training on the B787 is good, I sometimes do fondly miss midnight shift Pack Burnouts and DFGC RTS tests on the old original fly by wire (7x19) Mad Dogs back on B concourse in ATL! (Not too much though) Keep up the great work Capt. Jeff, this ex Acmoid appreciates all the effort .
Love the pot cast took me 3 weeks to get upto date now new are not fast enough love to here more flight dispatch side...

Great podcast! Find myself not being able to wait for the latest show. Great job captain Jeff!!
This is a greatly entertaining podcast. I think whether you're an airline pilot or a wannabe pilot like me you'll love listening to Capt. Jeff as he offers great insight into the various subjects that he covers. I really enjoying listening to it whenever I can.
