Listening to this show is always entertaining and as a baseball podcaster myself, every listen makes me want to raise my own game. Get well, Wess.
I love listening to the boys banter back n forth but really am here for ole Ricky Hollywood (behind the glass as Dan would say). Would really appreciate if you guys could use the FULL hour every episode. In failing to do so I have to fill my remaining commute with public radio (YUCK). Get well soon Wess!
I've been listening on and off for a few years, but over this past year I've really become more invested. The four Heroes have been working together for such a long time, they've built great chemistry that shines throughout each episode. Even facing the challenges of the pandemic and having to record from separate locations hardly hinders them. They are very knowledgeable about football, and their love for the sport is obvious. They don't hide their biases on players or teams, which adds personality to what otherwise could be a boring news rundown. They share their opinions and things can get a little heated between the Heroes, making for an exciting, entertaining, and still informative podcast. The hosts can also very responsive on Twitter, interacting with their audience about football and non-football topics alike. As a big fantasy football player, I was looking for a way to stay caught up on news around the league, whether it was injuries, roster moves, league rule changes, etc. This group provided that information, but it wasn't long before the personality of the Heroes became an equal part of my listening experience.
He is simply the best host around
Seriously look forward to this podcast every week. Even preseason during Covid- they are still keeping you informed and making you laugh along the way. These guys are humble for how great they are, definite room full of heroes!!
Always enjoy the banter. Thanks for the solid and funny discussions on whats happening around this crazy world of ours.
The best NFL podcast. I can’t out the podcast down. Happy 10 years Dan!
I’m probably a bigger podcast fan than a football fan. I used to just watch my team on Sunday and that was it. About six years ago I found this podcast and I’ve faithfully listened since. It’s increased my awareness around the league, and taught me some of the minutiae around how the league works. Dan keeps things light and a little goofy, Wes gives that salt of the earth info, Marc with a C knows what’s REALLY going on in the world, and Gregg adds a skeptical read to news around the league. Their producer, Ricky Hollywood, is ne plus ultra. When she eventually leaves them for better opportunities she will be sorely missed 🤣 So if you’re a sometimes football fan and you’re into podcasts, these guys are dope. It’s an easy listen, and I’ve grown to really appreciate the people on it.
Writers block... more star wars talk please.
I've been a listener since Thanksgiving of 2013, and have loved every minute of this show since. Some of my favorite moments include the insistence early on to use the full title of the segment for "Go Get My Lunch Bit*h," Wess' desire to put all the listeners on the map, and following along with that first team of ATL. A continuously great show that never disappoints.
I have been listening for years. Great content, great analysis, great humor & bits, just all around enjoyable and informative.
These guys are great! Fun banter, knowledgeable about football. Shout out to Dan and Mark for 10 years of bliss. I’m sorry Greg isn’t as excited about it as Dan and Mark.
Easy listening, good information sometimes but always entertaining. Definitely held up by Wesseling whose voice is soothing in some weird way. Much positive vibes in his direction to keep winning. Keep up the great work, appreciate every show.
Always look forward to new episodes to help pass the time at work.
I don’t have time to sit for three hours to watch a football game and all those ridiculous ads. These guys are great. They keep me up to date with the league and just enough info to keep my fantasy team relevant. Thanks fellas. Get better Chris! The pod needs you.
I like it
The guys, the guests and the producer have a great rapport and it's part of what makes the show enjoyable. Dan Hanzus does a great job “directing traffic” and keeps the show flowing. The show provides a lot of NFL information in a casual and fun way. The “heroes” also provide glimpses into their personal lives which help you identify with them. Even casual NFL fans will enjoy the podcast.
I listen to every episode, great chemistry.
Simply the best
By far most entertaining and informative football/sports podcast out there. My job allows me to listen to podcasts 10 hrs a day and this one is always at the top of my list among the many in my library. If you don’t subscribe to this smarten up!!!! I sent the above paragraph 3 to 5 years ago. Nothing has changed- listen to too many podcasts and this is the only one that I have never missed a minute of - 6 stars!
This is an awesome podcast to get your football news with that touch of mirth we’re all looking for! Dan, Wess, and Marc (with a C) keep up the awesome work; don’t change a thing! Gregg, you’re doing well too, but 60% “G” isn’t enough for me anymore. Try to pump those numbers up - I expect you to be up to at least 70% “G” by the the start of 2021. Still, you all deserve five stars. Thanks for what you do, guys!
I listen to around 3 hours of podcasts a day at work, and this is the one I look forward to the most. The chemistry and camaraderie of the heroes makes the show feel like hanging with friends, and each of them are integral to the quality of the show. Marc Sessler made a ridiculous, impossible Baker Mayfield prediction against the Jets for a sandwich and was denied payment. It is among the greatest injustices in mankind’s history on this planet and I’m only now beginning to get over it.
The around the NFL team is amazing. For years I was a DDFP junkie I refused to mow the yard if I couldn’t throw on the AirPods and listen to DDFP then one day I stumbled on around the NFL. Since that day I she. Heard every episode and still throw old ones on when I mow or clean the kitchen for the wife because men can do those things for your wife it’s a Manly thing to do.. thanks for a great show you all need a raise especially Erica(Ricky Hollywood) and the rest of the guys. Thanks Jeremiah (Coach J) Jefferson City, MO
I’ve been a long time listener and I can’t get enough of the football talk and banter between these 4 heroes. These guys deserve more and more time on NFL Network. Congrats Dan on 10 years.
Gregg has that WAP
These guys beat everyone. Even the TV network personalities like Colin, Skip, etc
Book em, greggo
The best pod rain or shine
These guys’ tangents are funnier than almost anything ever produced by professional comedians. Excellent chemistry and the show is virtually never boring. Main criticism would be a continuous dismissal of the Vikings as a legitimate contender. Otherwise 10/10 analysis.
Dan, a man with your bod should be eating at LEAST 65,000 calories per day.
this show is dope.
The most comprehensive NFL podcast that I know of. They talk about literally every story going on.
A hard scrabble coal minor, a mailman, an east coast elitist and a cosmically wandering Browns fan break down the news of the day and provide excellent a always. Seriously these guys are great this is my favorite podcast I always learn something and it’s funny. ItS JuSt FoUr DuDEs at a BaR breaking down the game.
I’ve been listening for 6+ years and have never thought about stopping. Get well soon Wes!
Great football podcast but their religion podcast is way better.
I’ve listened a long time…It’s good.
After 10 years at the company, no one stands taller. Deion? Byeee Hanson? Red zone is 17 times a year, that’s a month for ATNFL. Here’s to 10 more
This is my favorite podcast and I listen to around 60 hours of podcasts a week so that's saying something.
Been listening since before Dan was newspaper cover page material, Marc still aspired to be someone’s dawg with a “C”, Gregg was “hmm-ing” to himself under the radar, and Wes was a far less stylish clothes-horse. Initially, I came for the football, however I’ve stuck around for the comedic camaraderie. Keep cranking out that high octane content, gents! - Mr. Un-LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-mited
This show has been and will continue to be the best of the best in terms of easy to digest football content. But do not judge it solely on that, as while it is incredibly informative, it is also truly inspiring and enjoyable (with a touch of mirth) due to 4 fantastic hosts and an amazing producer. You cannot go wrong listening to this.
Everything about this pod is perfect except the misuse of Gregg’s voice. It sounds like it would be perfect as lead singer of a band named after a bad U.S. state I drove through once. Maybe consider releasing some kind of tapes featuring this idea.
Why do you call show “Bunker filled with heroes”? Are you guys healthcare workers on frontlines or maybe moonlight part time at local supermarket for near minimum wage? Especially during these times not sure it fits....Otherwise when you guys get around to football I find it interesting.
Love the show, great banter....but come on Zeus gotta show the Titans some more love! They’ve built a solid front office and Robinson has been successful in the draft and free agency year after year. Tannehill will come down a bit but he will be the game manager the Titans need. He’s super accurate and not afraid to take shots or improvise when needed. The personal has improved on both sides of the ball in the off season. They’re returning 10 of 11 starters from a great offense will pay dividends in the RONA year. Just sayin. Keep being heroes...and Dan commmmeeee on just a little love for the Titans goes a long way.
I’m a fan of the interplay and camaraderie the hosts share, I definitely don’t listen for Raiders news 😉
Listener for 5+ years. The ATN squad does it better than everyone. They make football fun even when it’s the Jets or Browns. They keep you informed in the off-season when you’re missing ball. Best of all, the whole show just feels like 4 dudes (+Erica love you!) just hanging out talking sports. Makes you feel like you have four super plugged in friends that keep you informed on everything NFL. Love you guys and thank you all for bringing me a few hours of football and laughs!
I’ve been listening to the show religiously for 6 years now and have enjoyed the content. One thing I can’t get behind is Wes’s attitude about the previous name of the Washington football team. Let me start by saying it’s great to hear you back on the show. Wes is stubborn by nature and sticks to his guns we know this, but as a black man, someone who as worked in the NFL and someone who has fought their entire life against social injustices, I find it extremely ignorant and insensitive. Wes, all of us listeners are behind you with your battle for cancer and we support you 100%. Please look in the mirror and realize because you don’t want to do something or don’t feel like it you are perpetuating the problems that have plagued our country for so long. 2020 has brought to light a lot of issues. Issues that quite frankly should have been addressed years ago. If you cannot see why the term is so offensive or why saying it should not be ok then you have lost all credibility and integrity. Your stances on the character of Antonio Brown and Greg Hardy are hollow and hypocritical. As for the other heroes, I was disappointed in the way you all caved so easily and gave Wes a pass when he fought back. That’s same thing as letting your friend tell a racist joke and not say anything. Standing up for the right thing is hard, it makes you uncomfortable and it isn’t always nice. So if you want to say on the show you support whatever cause you do, you need to walk the walk. So going back to the original reason I wrote this review regarding the use of the former Washington football team’s name; you all don’t have to freak out every time it’s said because it’s a habit we all will make that mistake at some point. But a conscious effort to end the use of the term, acknowledgment when you say it and an understanding of WHY it’s not ok is essential for you to not alienate a large portion of your audience. Thanks for the shenanigans and I hope you read this and take this message to heart. I will continue listening in hopes of a little more awareness but if the pattern keeps up I don’t see how I in good conscious can continue to be apart of your audience. TED
Such a fun listen, every time I see a new episode has dropped it’s like seeing a new episode of your favorite tv show is out. The more you listen the better the show gets because of all of the inside jokes and the great give and take between the 4 podcast members. Nonstop football coverage all year long with a touch of mirth 2 stars... jk 5 for sure
I’ve subscribed for about a year now. Instantly fell in love with the show. Recently, with the pandemic in question, the talk has zeroed in on our country doing such a poor job with the pandemic. The terms “lack of leadership” and the “federal government’s fault” have become more and more frequent. We all know football is affected deeply by the epidemic. Football is my escape from all this. Give me the news on how it affects football. I do not need these guys to pound home every episode that they believe the US is the worst in the world at handling corona and the NFL can’t fix the country’s problem. Geez guys. Stick to football. I’m not sure how much more I can take. I love listening to them debate about their individual analysis of current football news or the upcoming season, but Dan throwing in an America is great comment to offset the bashing just isn’t what this podcast should be about. Bottom line if you come here to get away from politics, you are in for a roller coaster of a show.
Basically real house wives of football
A great show all around!
My only must listen NFL podcast. Love this show.
I’ve been listening for years off and on since The Flames. Can’t believe I never submitted a review until now! Excellent guys and excellent discussions. Much love to Chris in his recovery. Personal favorite on the cast: Sir Hanzus.
I find it laughable that everyone whines about the “politics” of this show. I’m sure if it was far right leaning, those crying wouldn’t be so upset, stop with your nationalistic reviews! These guys are great to listen too, and very informative and fun, and they’re living through the same thing we are. Kudos to them!
If you want to know more about Jets and Patriots, these are your guys!
Love the heroes, Ricky Hollywood, and the occasional Connie Fox guest appearance (GO BIRDS). Look forward to this show all the time. Keep up the great work! Also Claybon is awesome too. And Chris, best wishes in the fight ahead. We’re rooting for you!!!
Best football pod around....IF you can stomach their random current event hot takes
Politics and Terrorist propaganda!
You four work for the NFL ffs, one of the most crony organizations in the country. English teenagers might want to listen to your moralizing about the need for more domination out of Washington DC, but I am no longer interested. I've listened for 5 years. I will still read Marc and Chris but i can't do the pod anymore. Used to be my favorite show :(
Colin B Nels, I’m in your corner. Would give 0⭐️ but requires a star for viewing. I am going to continue to call them Redskins even after the official name and logo is released. I am from Jacksonville so my team is the Jaguars. I hope Shad Khan isn’t going to try to change our team name! If all this PC crap keeps going and we aren’t called Jacksonville any more because people get offended by the well known fact that our city is named in honor of Andrew Jackson then sadly I hate to think that we could some how go back to our original name which was, and you all who read this can laugh it’s cool I won’t be offended, Cow Ford. So we may be the Cow Ford Cows or Cattle or something similar.
So, on the latest episode the host Dan admits that his podcast hosts as well as himself have witnessed similar things as reported in The Post in regards to degradation of women. Yet you did nothing about it but NOW you hope something good comes out of this report? Hypocritical b.s. Hope you are feeling good after taking such a strong stance. Would have rated zero stars but was required to rate in order to have this seen. CBN08
5 stars with Claybon. 1 Star without Claybon. There CANNOT be someone else you should fill a chair with. Also, the podcast is amazing even without Claybon. NEVER STOP!
This show has been great for years. I've listened from the beginning when it was the around the league podcast. Unfortunately, it has recently become very political, which I'm not opposed to except that it's all media-fueled jargon. No original takes on politics. When they finally get into the football talk, it's exceptional. The 4 main guys have great, fun personalities. Please though, get Patrick Claybon off the show. Makes it significantly worse when he is there.
Show has reached a low point this summer with too much political views. Some of the guests are just way to eager to force their political points in a condescending way, RIGHT!?! - Patrick Claybon. On a more serious note, sending love and good vibes to Chris Wesseling! Take care and keep positive.
But not the same without Wes. Hoping for good news
5 stars without Patrick Claybon. 1 Star with Patrick Claybon. There HAS to be someone else you can fill a chair with.
First, I have to say I really wish Wess well in his fight against cancer. I love the podcast! Every hero has an unique perspective. The bunkercasts were borderline therapeutic. My sister and I would laugh along with Marc’s increasing existentialism. It’s a great show and I would really miss it if it were to go away. Give the heroes (and the best hero: Erica!) a raise please! Much love to you all
Wesseling is fantastic! Get well soon the team needs you! Love the show. This is a great group that mix it up perfectly. Cheers
Great show. Isn’t the same without Wes. Love whenever Patrick Claybon can be on though.
Can I be your friend? - sweaty nerd
I went to huc-a-poi’s last weekend and I give it a 5/5 just like I give this podcast 5 stars
I truly enjoy this comical bunch. Often times they speak from the cuff and are not afraid to go against typical hype or tone. The personal biases are ever present but so is the buy in to tangible logic. A great relief from the quick take, chest beating experts who try and cover all sports and their pushed rhetoric. The dynamics, the squabbles and the Marc moments make this very entertaining organically. Coupled with a family feel you get sucked in. Thanks for helping this (bald) mailman laugh and be thoroughly entertained even in June/July. *edit never cried during a podcast except hearing of Wes’s resurgence of cancer. My mom passed of cancer right after coming back from war. Mailman to Mailman I love you man and I’m sending you all the vibes. I pray Lincoln and you have a long life together.
What was once a great football podcast has turned into an hour of leftist drivel. #maketheatnpodgreatagain
Keep you political opinion out of the football talk.
Love the show, appreciate y’all speaking your minds and being honest about how the country currently looks
If you can make it through the thinly veiled hostility for anyone or any opinion not in line with the coastal elite, you’ll get to enjoy some wildly mediocre football opinions. It’s fine to keep around for when you run out of other podcasts to listen to.
By all means, briefly discuss social/political issues, especially those relevant to the NFL. However, an all-white 5-person team who cover a 70% black sport posturing about racial inequality in all areas besides NFL media is pretty rich. They got their one “black friend” on to discuss racial issues about American Indians, which makes no sense. Also, what is with random turns into major political discussion? Claybon’s input in how the NFL will handle COVID was suddenly a rant about “there’s a movement in this country for 30 years to limit the federal government because its bad...”. Shows the ignorance of the privileged people on this show. They think conservative belief about the scope of the Federal Government is some recent phenomenon. If you can’t discuss political and social issues with a even a pretense of objectivity, then stick to sports.
This show has quickly become a politics podcast disguised with football. The political ideology of all the hosts should be kept off their show, professional twitter accounts, and in their writings. Football is suppose to be a fun escape from things like politics. Was a long time listener, not anymore.
Has become entirely too political over the past few months.
I've been listening since the start. At this point, I almost feel like I know them. Highly recommend this podcast for football banter. Although I miss Wes, I’m glad he’s getting some much needed time with Linc. Only thing I would change is, I miss the time stamps in the episode descriptions.
They want to divide the country while advancing their own cynical beliefs that discourage free speech and pamper a bunch of overpaid athletes and journalists. This will not change until people stand up and speak their minds.
Not just my favorite football podcast, but my favorite podcast period.
Love this show. Always entertaining and informative. Good topics from around the NFL keep it up💪🏼👊🏼🤙🏼
A podcast that bangs other podcasts in a big spot. Have you heard other factual and informative football podcast such as Move the Sticks with some guy named Danial Jeriwhocares and Bucky Whatever? Mph. Please. Do your funny bone and football IQ a favor and enjoy an hour long session of Gregs Rosenhauls "diehard" Patriots fandom sprinkled with 12 other teams he also subtly roots for. Chris Wesslings superhuman ability to use fancy words I do not understand but said so I can still digest his football opinion. The quiet storms Marc Sessler brooding over the Browns slowly draining the life from his body over the last decade plus, seemingly destroying any emotion from the man outside of discontent and complete apathy towards the sport we all love. All while the follicly blessed host Dan Hanzus runs bits and jokes that range the spectrum of splitting your gut hillarious or splitting your gut disastrous (and hilarious) as they add to the quiet storms growing hurricane of hatred when the crew will not let the bit end simply to bug him it seems. Less we forget the true brains and workhorse behind the operation, Miss Erica Tamposi. Who consistently keeps all 4 manboys in check and the show running like clockwork with perfectly timed sound drops and her own zingers and one liners, Always reminding everyone who is actually in charge. Best football podcast out there. 7.5/5 stars.
Unsubscribed. Used to be good discussion of football. Now they are falling all over themselves to show how “progressive” they are. They are captives to the liberal media consensus because that is how they think they can hold onto their jobs.
Do you like football? Do you like people talking about football? Do you like people talking about some other, mundane stuff at first but in a humorous way that makes you feel like you are chilling at a backyard bbq with friends then football eventually. This is the podcast for you!
Love the podcast enjoy the witty banter but i would enjoy less redskins hate . Otherwise solid show
Right. Let’s give the failed second stringer, faux martyr ANOTHER chance. Why? Not because he’s a qualified talent. Because Pissant Greg and Mark both feel the need to posture as friends of all blacks, at all times, no matter their actions, criminal record, etc. F$#* Kaepernick!!!! As well as every moral runt who chooses to defend his self aggrandizement. Democrat= desperate, deceitful pandering for acceptance at all times. Wear your mask always, kneel in front of someone, and vote for Hillary again...or a mentally retarded, kid touching dotard....abject morons.
Used to be a decent NFL podcast. Now it’s the same political show as the rest
If the Karen in your local retail store hasn’t gotten through to you about wearing a mask, these guys have a message for you. Best NFL podcast around with a some left coast media worship and political talk sprinkled in. I’ll be back with my 5 stars when the political talk ends. It’s your show and it’s up to you if you want to continue to alienate 50% of your audience.
Great NFL podcast
This is by far my favorite podcast. You guys come up with creative ideas and don’t just focus on the same old storylines like other sports shows and podcasts. The fact that you all have favorite teams (hopefully Joe Burrow can bring Wess back) makes it even more enjoyable. P.S. Where would you rank Cowboys Nation among the most tortured NFL fan bases? It feels like we usually have a top ten roster, sometimes even top three, but never do anything with it (25 years without a Lombardi).
Ive listened to every episode for five years or so. The heroes have been a major part of my weekly life throughout my formative teenage years and i can honestly say my humor, interests and life experience would not be the same without them. Dameshek started my football fandom but these guys have formed it to what it is today. I feel as if I've been friends with the guys for years. Don't think i could be friends with ricky tho, more of a private school yuppie i prefer the common man.
For my first ever podcast review. By far the best NFL podcast. Been listening religiously for the past couple years. With camaraderie, knowledge and a touch of mirth, these gents make me feel like I’m a part of the gang. I have had nothing negative ever to say about this podcast... until now. Loud sound bites and back round music can overwhelm great conversational content and the listener. And oh ya we need more of Dan singing. I will continue to listen. Let’s all be on the same team.
I have loved the balance of real life during these crazy times, and good ol fashion football.
If only they could get the best of the best NFL media GIANT Pete Schrager on more... man... that guy has the best insights
Hurts to write this review - have loved every second of this podcast for 6 years. Its become unlistenable recently. Political talk with zero diversity of opinion - sheltered, sometimes farcically Californian viewpoints. I do not want to listen to politics during a FOOTBALL podcast - save that for news programs. The football analysis between these guys is incredible, and the best in the podcast game. Until the politics is cut, though, you’re losing a die-hard ATL fan. Go back to the golden summers of this pod, analyzing camps and predicting the upcoming season for endless summer hours.
Love the show and I am a huge Baltimore Ravens fan, so I thoroughly enjoyed the last Ravens centered Podcast. But what was even more enjoyable was Ricky breaking all of your ankles in Lamar Jackson like fashion over the Guinness Book of World Records flack.
The one and only podcast review was for this podcast. I wrote about appreciating how nice it was to listen to while on lockdown and grocery shopping for curbside pickup in our town. Now I’m going to, unfortunately, have to edit my positive review. The straw that broke the camels back was the one in which Marc made a snarky, negative comment about people wanting to go to the beach and within 20 minutes Ricki is telling people to go pack in to downtown LA for the protests. I don’t know if you see it, but to intelligent folks this looks like ignorance or some form of gaslighting. Get plenty of this from the rest of media and politically divisive people, not really a fan when it comes from a football podcast. Maybe in LA politically divisive folks like football, but here in the Midwest, people who hold views like yours tend to HATE football. I’m afraid you’re going to loose listeners over this.
We need more Ricky Hollywood!!
Just keep sports out of politics please.
This has been my go to football pod for awhile now, but today I am sadly unsubscribing. I love the banter between the heroes and the funny and insightful football discussion. That being said, please stop talking about politics. I understand that there isn’t a lot to talk about right now football-wise, but you guys are now literally spending half of each episode walking down the virtue signaling checklist. As if these things aren’t blasted in our faces enough on social media, we now have to suffer through it here. Not to mention how uninformed these takes are too, have you guys even considered a single conservative viewpoint to the things you’re talking about? LA has rubbed off on them. Unfortunately it looks like the nfl is headed this direction and setting itself up for an unbearable political mess and media circus every game. No thanks. Gone are the days of being able to kick back and watch some dudes tackle each other to get an escape from the real world. Instead the left has infested every medium of entertainment meant to be a reprieve from it all. Hopefully I’m wrong, we have a good season and I’ll pick it back up. But for now, I’ll find something else to listen to.
Great stuff just stop yelling over each other .. very annoying in my ears . Podcasting 101
The best football show BUT so much social crap lately. Even had their “black friend” on and he roasted them stating all his white friends were making their guilt calls to him. Then Dan’s like. What do you think?
I really struggled to write a review. This is by far my favorite league wide podcast. I love the chemistry and overall feel. I understand that there isn’t much in the way of actual NFL news to report on, but the political agenda is getting out of hand. I’m sorry if you guys are ashamed of being four white dudes but please leave it off the podcast. Once you guys return to football I look forward to returning to listening!
It’s all politics and virtue signally than a little football talk at the end.
Your football show was really great. An escape from all the trials and tribulations of surviving in the wealthy, privileged western world. But listening to 4 pampered boy-men virtue signaling is tedious. Where can one go to listen to some light banter about the great game? Not here any longer. You jumped the shark gentlemen.
This has been my favorite show for as long as you guys have been together. What I look forward to each week. Not many shows have the chemistry you guys have! My only complaint is people might not like the show because of all the inside joke and that is all their fault for not listening from the beginning! 6 stars.
Love the show y’all. You’ve always had great chemistry as a group, and I appreciate the distraction during these times. Also, thank you for speaking up about the protests and showing solidarity with the BLM movement. Don’t worry about the racist knuckle draggers, trolls, or false equivalences. Much love to the Heroes, Rickey, and the whole NFL Media fam. ❤️❤️
If you’re looking for a place to get all the info you need on Colin Kaepernick and Black Lives Matter... this is the podcast for you!! I would look somewhere else if you’re interested in football, though.
This is the best football podcast out there. In my previous review I thought I was reviewing Around The Horn. Sorry. I will re-subscribe now.
I’ll listen when it’s back to football
If you ever wondered what it would sound like to 4 middle aged white dudes at your local sports bar give there druken takes on football meanwhile scolding you for not being woke enough...look no further. They think everything is 45's fault, want to have Kap still QB in the NFL 3 years after being benched for Blaine Gabbert, and then castigate the rest of the country that doesn't vote blue. I used to listen to escape the craziness of the world and politics, but now for the last 4 years I had to endure a constant barrage of liberal tears and bad takes. I don't know what worse...that or them constanly complaining about not making enough money while living in the highest tax blue city and state. Oh yeah the funny bits they used to have....they have some running compettiion which one they can kill next like team of ATL. Do yourself a favor and listen to something else that does'nt hate more then half their audience. Lock it up.
Wow can’t believe you guys would PERSONALLY attack me for having the opinion that systematic racism against the colored folk shouldn’t be abolished. Stick to sports and let the geniuses like Tucker Carlson stick to telling me how to think.
I love your show & have been listening for a couple years now! I’m so glad I found it because I am a football junkie & this connects me year round. You guys are hilarious! #RaiderNation
I’ve been religiously listening since the beginning but I can’t take it anymore. I listened to this podcast to try and escape the monotony of media and now it’s non stop political opinion like all other content.
Leave out your politics, we listen for football.
Hilarious lively personalities with wonderful football analysis, can’t get any better
It’s fine that y’all don’t like certain players and have favorite teams. That’s part of the fun of the podcast, even though I happen to be one of the fans of the teams you all don’t like. The thing that grinds my gears, though, is you have Dan, Wes and Greg who all bring something to the table, with Marc who is a temperamental factory of complaints and inferiority complex. Keep doing what y’all are doing, but Marc maybe you should be behind the glass and Ricky can take your spot.
Quite frankly, I look forward to these guys so much it’s probably time to check myself. To dilute the eventual pain of them not entertaining me when they move up and on, as all GREAT things eventually do.
4 clowns talking football. Pretty good show tho.
Thanks for the extra coverage during quarantine. Can’t wait to hear Dan’s take on the kicker battle brewing in Indy.
This is one of my favorite podcasts. I’ve been listening for years and am a HUGE fan! Marc is the absolute man and I strive to speak as eloquently as him someday. That said, the guests on this show are SO annoying. Colleen is great, but everybody else tries way too hard and it comes off as cringy. You guys have great personalities and shouldn’t feel the need to bring in so many guests that throw off the vibe of the show. I find myself getting excited every time there’s a new episode with only the heroes. PS: Everybody wining about the “politics” in the show need grow up a little. It’s really not a big deal.
Been a fan a long time but starting to drift away. The football stuff is great. However, I could do without the comments that are in just about every episode these days. Either get someone on the show who doesn’t go along with every liberal viewpoint in existence or stay off the politics. Some time away from Hollywood would probably be good for you guys.
These guys are overall very entertaining, funny, football smart. But they live in a bubble for sure. Their comments on the recent cast, assuming any gun owner is fixin to rob a bank is so oblivious to reality. Must be pretty sheltered in their LA bunkers. But. Mark cracks me up. Wes likes the Broncos. Greg is chill cool. Dan stokes them well. Ricky should be promoted, you gender-phobic boys. Keep up the reasonably good work!
My favorite podcast. Dan Hanzus, Marc Sessler and Chris Wesseling are excellent journalists. They provide humorous and informative NFL content. ATN is the best NFL podcast going.
The guys discuss more than football and constantly crack me up. Might take a few listens to catch on to all the inside jokes. Love these guys, Ricky Hollywood does a great job behind the glass too. Grade A content.
The announcers all team up against Mark constantly...it’s just a show about bullying...We all know bullying is terrible and we are trying to eliminate this from educational settings yet it’s still in this pod once a week minimum. 4 against 1 isn’t fair. Want to listen to as many nfl podcasts as possible but I’m done with this one. I’ll check back in 2 years or more and see if the bully squad is done.
The “heroes” are fun to listen to and provide great entertainment during these quarantine times. I don’t appreciate the criticism/ opinions on their politics. Stick to the League you guys cover. If you want to talk politics and how much you dislike our current President, start a new podcast. Go Broncos and America!
Have been listening for a few years now and you guys always provide good background noise whenever I am doing something
I have listened to every episode at least twice and just started it all over again at work last week! You guys are the best and I’ve been looking for more podcast to listen too out there and there’s just not a lot of good content and so that’s why I have you guys on repeat. Love the mix of you four plus Ricky Hollywood! The humor, mirth, in depth and comprehensive football knowledge is awesome! Thanks for keeping me sane in these crazy times as well!! Take care heroes!!
Excellent podcast, perfect blend of 4 guys (and the talented Ricky Hollywood) who just feel like old friends sitting around a table, combined with news coverage and deep football knowledge. You get insightful football coverage with the levity all 5 bring to the table, I make sure to never miss an episode.
Dan, On the 1,000th show you go into this “woke” narrative around “Maybe we need people who don’t look like us to inject some new life in this thing”. I think that’s a great idea, how about getting someone with a conservative political view in the show? Or does your type of diversity apply where everyone looks different but thinks the same. Besides that love the show!
EDIT: podcast feed deleted. The endless screaming brat and the poor production is extremely unprofessional. Usually a great podcast, but now that they are recording at home, it has taken a dive. It’s was to be expected that the first week would have some glitches, but it’s three weeks in and they haven’t sorted it out. One of the host has kids screaming nonstop from beginning to end. The kind of screaming that is never acceptable inside (hence why good parents teach their kids inside voice). It’s obvious that the kids are in charge in that house and the parents let them run wild. These are the nightmare parents that let their kids run and scream all over a restaurant, even when everyone else’s kids have normal behavior for their age, and then act all shocked and hurt when the manager asks them to control their kids because other guests can’t enjoy their meal. Why the producers or the other hosts haven’t put a stop to this I don’t know. Hopefully, at some point NFL management will start doing their jobs again and require the hosts to act professionally again and stop using the pandemic as an excuse to assault our ears to screaming kids. Go to another room, close the door, tell the kids it’s quiet time for an hour (or better yet, have the spouse take them outside to play), and be a professional. The other three hosts seem to be able to be good parents and good podcasters, why is one allowed to ruin every show because they can’t figure out how to be a parent. If it doesn’t stop, I will be deleting the podcast. These off season shows are only good because how well the hosts interact with each other and they go off on wonderful tangents, especially Marc, but all that is ruined with screaming kids. It’s insane that someone would just ignore that for 3 weeks straight with no end in sight.
I’ve listened to this show for many years, during the quarantine I’ve gained a new insight into the life, the children and the struggled of the “heroes”. I love these guys, they have been a near daily part of my life for so long and I hear them more than my own friends, thanks man. Shot out to Ricky! (I love you Eli M)
Don’t listen to any of these jackdogs!!!! You guys are by far the best around. Please don’t ever stop doing what you’re doing. Oh and don’t let this go to your heads. We can’t have any of you jumping ship to go off and do your own thing. Keep the ATN show intact FOREVER!!!!
While I appreciate each member on the ATN pod, I’m tired of hearing your uninformed political viewpoints. I’m not listening to hear you speculate about world issues while assuming the entire audience is in agreement. Give me some dang football talk! Going to unsubscribe for now and give ATN another shot in the future. Thanks guys. Also, Ricky Hollywood is an all star.
Congrats on 1,000, thanks a ton for the years of football and laughs, real team of ATL.
There’s a million talking heads who talk “very seriously” about THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. If you need to turn the volume down on people who take themselves too seriously, but you still want to listen to a football podcast, check these guys out. They’re friends and joke around and it’s natural, not forced or fake. And football knowledge is not sacrificed for the sake of humor. It walks the line between informative and fun, and I really enjoy it. Keep it up, guys!
I’ll give you guys 5 stars because I love you but recently the pod has devolved into an unlistenable anti Aaron Rodgers grouch fest. Last summer’s narrative that he won’t get along with his new coach is old and stale THIS summer... We’ve had literally an entire season of evidence that they get along great. I don’t know what he did to hurt you all personally (especially Dan for some reason), but consider seeking help.
From insightful analysis to either banter and sometime just wasting time, this podcast is great. Have been listening for about 2 years and I love it. Only wish the “special” episodes (Twitter, live shows etc.) could have the audio posted in podcast form after the fact as hospital schedule isn’t conducive to tuning in for a random hour during the day 🤷🏽♂️
Easily the most entertaining and informative nfl podcast. Whenever I feel the Fab Four are cresting, they push the ceiling even higher.
Love the guys takes on the NFL. Been listening since 2015, keep up the good work!
The Around the NFL podcast is truly a great show. You’ve got your excitable and flamboyant host, your snarky calculated realist, well informed truth teller, and hot take creative all rounded out by a do it all producer extraordinaire (who is also a woman which is great in a male dominated landscape). This show has been a mainstay in my podcast library for 4 years now and I love it! I’ve only been a football fan for 8 years now and I learn so much about football history and seldom discussed analysis. This show delivers content you don’t get from the football group think sources like ESPN or Fox Sports. I also love the way they gamify football news or what if scenarios while Ricky spins appropriate tunes and sound drops in the background. It’s a fun take on a sport that takes itself too seriously. Lastly I want to give a shout out to the ATN team for being so present during the coronavirus pandemic. In a time where the world is flipping on its head they provided some normalcy. I’m very appreciative for that. Thank you heroes. If you ever do a show in the Bay Area I’ll be sure to attend it.
these guys have the best personalities. they have been critical in my survival through this pandemic. i am a long time spotify listener who downloaded the apple podcast app solely to leave y’all 5 stars. don’t be scared to up the banter!
It’s the Seinfeld of NFL podcasts, how much better can it get. It‘s the ultimate de-stresser during this time. They’re heroes in their own right.
Dan: woke Marc: enigma Gregg: relatable Chris: adamant
This has been my go to podcast since the boys left the end of shek’s pod to form their own. The humor is great and the rapport between the 4 are fantastic. They can disagree with each other but do it respectfully which is a pleasant change from the standard let’s see who can yell the loudest .
10 out of 5 stars
Thankfully for an ole 71 year old who loves football I get to look forward to this podcast, wish it would always be daily, but will enjoy it while we have it.👍
One of my favorite podcasts! If you love the NFL, these guys are one of the most fun talk shows out there. They have such great chemistry together, and their friendship and distinct personalities really make this podcast more worthwhile to listen to other than simply keeping up to date with the NFL. I’ve listened to every show for the last 5 years, and it feels like these guys are part of my lives. Can’t recommend enough!
About a decade ago, two of my best friends and I had a weekly live podcast (when BlogTalkRadio was relatively new). Our tagline was "Life, Love, & Football," and we loved doing it. Once a week, we would meet at one of the guys' houses, order pizza, drink beer, and talk about football, what was going in our lives, how my buddy's divorce was going, and share old war stories. Members of our fantasy league would call in and talk trash, and we'd occasionally be surprised by a legit caller asking for fantasy advice. It was great. Two of us moved away, and the podcast went kaput. But then I discovered the ATN podcast and felt like I was back in that time, talking football with my best friends. When my brother died, I found myself listening to old ATN episodes at 3 a.m. because it made me feel like I was with friends. Check out the subreddit at /r/aroundthenfl and say hi.
It’s like my mom and her true crime podcasts
More Ricky please.
Who needs to follow football when you can follow the daily antics of four forty+ year old men (close enough Dan) and their sassy producer. 5 stars #releasethetapes
Why not them?
All the bad reviews that people are leaving are exactly reasons I love the show. This show would not be what it is without all four of them. Marc is hilarious. He goes off the rails quite frequently and it adds so much character to the show. I love his takes, but I wouldn’t want to be Gal Gadot. Dan is a great host. I love how much he hates the patriots and as a bengals fan I absolutely feel the pain of never seeing your team win anything. Gregg and Wes are the tape dawgs of the group and I love their analysis. Ricky is an excellent producer and I love how she pitches in every once in a while. GREAT SHOW! Keep em coming!
You guys are terrific. Long time listener of the show since the very beginning. Using this time during the crisis to give you the review I should’ve long ago! If you aren’t yet listening to this podcast and you are a fan of the NFL either get on the boat or get left!
I enjoy the podcast but I can’t continue to ignore the responsibility Marc seems to have on the ongoing pandemic and problems in our world. It started as innocent bets...Marc placing sandwiches on random catastrophic events and outcomes. We all initially thought it was just playful bets to stir the pot...but now I know what it really is….It’s Marc plummeting into madness and willing to take it out on the world to gain what he wants. I can’t prove this but I feel like there is enough evidence if you pay attention…..Marc has begun mastering forces that otherwise mortal men haven’t in millenia. What do you think the meditations are for!?!? He needs our energies to sync. He is becoming a master of some dark arts I cannot even begin to fathom. Why would he do this? Well it’s been pushed into our faces now. Respect. That’s all he really craves now...it’s what drives him every day. Now he’s even rented an AirBNB just to be able to seclude himself further and hide his evil and demonistic incantations. PLEASE….NFL reporters, Players, and podcast commenters. Give Marc the respect he so desires or continue to watch the world crumble even further as he falls further into his obsessive dabblings into the dark arts. The world depends on it. Also Dan, Wes, and Gregg are pretty cool and Erica is a great producer!
A freshman looking for podcast and searching for a way to expand my knowledge on the game and history of football, I begin listening to the Around the NFL Podcast. Over my three years of listening, the NFL, the heroes lives, and my life has changed. Dan, the bright eyed, bit-making, Patriot hating host guides the surrounding heroes with such swagger, reminiscent of “Broadway” Joe Namath, an idol of the coal town resident young Zuser. That is quickly met with the very bold and brash “Mailman” Chris Wessling, that brings realism and leaves any tropes in the dust. His basking in the glory of the Bengals pain and mismanagement hurts me as a Bengals fans but brings me to the Earth after listening to Dan Hoard and Dave Lapham praise the latest Bengals moves. “60 Percent G” Gregg Rosenthal installing into everyone’s minds the false hope the Patriots may not be as good as they were, and that the yuppy upstart team with 11 of there starters under 25 will somehow take it all, only for all of that to be false. His nasally comfort somehow makes you believe in what he is saying and his old boss comes out usually steering the podcast towards football. The wild card “Quiet Storm” Marc Sessler brings passive aggressive and honest explaination of his pain as a football and Browns fans, and tells prolific tales of his past and long-winded scenarios that only someone with a lot of experience and imagination could think up. How could this very odd team effect me? Well hearing their love for something they do made me want to do journalism. That spring, I signed for the paper at my school. I have since been on the staff for an upcoming three years and have won awards from colleges for my articles. It also inspired me to try to start my own podcast, the Ayo! Podcast, which still isn’t on Apple podcast. This group shows that even through all the tropes and ridiculous assignments they may be given, they still love their jobs and the game of football. Hopefully Tom Brady comes to a decline, and the Ravens and Steelers organizations finally get their bad karma, leading to a long dirt nap. Hopefully, the Jets, Browns, and Bengals can eventually rise above in the AFC while once sad and worn fans will get satisfaction. Hopefully Chris has a beautiful wedding (and kids). Hopefully, Gregg and his wife finally decides who wears the pants. Hopefully we can finally find out who John Gonzalez is. Hopefully, we can see the return of Wess’ toaster. Hopefully, Conor Orr finally watches all of Seinfeld. Hopefully, everyone can find a podcast they enjoy as much as I enjoy the Around the NFL Podcast. I wrote this review I don’t even know when. I am now a freshman in college and am still a massive loyalist of this podcast. It is the only one I truly keep up with week to week. This podcast has been one of the only constants in my life over these years. Thank you heroes. Go Hoosiers and Who Dey!
You guys ARE heroes! 5 eps a week while remote and while so many of us are starving for content. Thanks for all you do. In all serious, we all know who actual heroes are right now but thank you for giving us a great distraction.
Thanks for doing the podcast daily and being so open about things we are all dealing with!
Amazing podcast, my favorite podcast I listen to! My view on the members best qualities: Dan- super funny, amazing laugh; Wes- real depth, as real as can be; Greg- keeps everyone grounded, values contracts most in sport donated by business; Marc- being 100 what he says and the way his mind works is the most interesting; Ricky- reminds them they are old dudes, I know they know it, but it’s healthy for them to reminded ever once in awhile.
I have been a fan for years and these guys just keep getting better! Erica joining the team has really amped up their production, she is an amazing addition to an already stellar lineup. Keep up the good work, Heroes. I feel that a weekly tv show is up next for you all. Come on Shadowy League Figures, do your job!
For me this is not only just a great football podcast but just great podcast overall. It is very respectable football analysis. I would say these dudes know their football. They’ve been putting out lots of podcast during this quarantine too so that’s been dope. Some other people may not think they’re not funny but I really do. I love how they always bag each other. I’d have a beer with these fools.
You are guys are awesome. Long time listener and the last few weeks have been awesome with so many shows! You guys are hilarious and your familiarity and comfort with each other make it absolutely hilarious and fun to listen to. Thanks for keeping all of us sane in these trying times. Keep it up!
Football is far and away my favorite sport and this is my absolute favorite podcast on the topic. The heroes are great and bring smart insights while placing them in the greater context of the world at large. Wonderful podcast, love the heroes and Ricky, never miss an ep!
These hero’s are great! Lots of football talk and other things. Great analysis and it’s fun to hear from real fans of the game with favorite teams.
Just the right amount of analysis, wit, and banter. You're not overwhelmed by stats while listening. The differences in opinions and style blend well and make for a really great show.
Come for Dan, stay for Marc.
The single greatest feat of American football entertainment programming.
I’ve been listening since they started. Super refreshing to have NFL talking heads who don’t hide their fanhood. Also love the banter. Could do without Dan’s singing.
Love the podcast and thank you for doing it 5 days a week during this crazy time. As a Titans fan this hasn’t been the easiest pod to listen to but, as my teams fortunes have improved so have your comments about said team. Again love your views on things even if they aren’t mine with love from Norman, OK -Greg “Love you bro” -close elevator door
My favorite podcast. Nice balance of breaking NFL news/opinions and funny banter about things going on outside of the league. Awesome that they're staying busy during the coronavirus situation, it's my little slice of normalcy during these crazy times. Keep it up heroes!
These guys's voices are like volunteering for crosswalk duty on below freezing Cleveland mornings in 1974 and getting Swiss Miss hot chcolate in the teacher's lounge after. In other words: Only the best grade school memories make the heroic discharge grade that is AtN. But the faces; yikes. JK - sort-of
Fabulous podcast from start to finish. The heroes have great football knowledge and even better personalities. Everything you could wish for in a football podcast. Overall, I’d have to give it a B-
I have listened to the hero’s since they were on Dave’s show. I listened to their podcast during my drive from tehachapi to San Diego every weekend for three years. Then moving to three new cities and 4 jobs. Their podcast has helped me relax and get thru life. During covid they have been giving us a gift five days a week. They call themselves hero’s but recently stated that the real heros are doctors, nurses, CVS workers, janitors to teachers but I disagree. You guys are hero’s, you give us essential workers a break from real life and let us enjoy a group of people talk about life and what makes them happy. Football is just a subject they touch on because their commentary on life is pure gold.
This has been my favorite podcast for years. It’s so entertaining I even listen in the off-season.
love the show and not wanted to do this type of review, but had no choice, hope others will follow before it gets worse and the show cant get back to been good again. “Around the NFL”, not around your crappy, lives, honbies or whatever.. if no NFL topics, then take a week off... you guys can apply for unemployed for a few month...will unsub and get back in the fall, hopefully i can erase/forget all of the terrible bunker shows
Yo, the Connie Wolfe sweepstakes and the negative comments are where it’s at. Debated making this one wholesomely negative in order to get some air-time.. please keep the hot-takes coming quiet storm and Dan, you’re definitely the best facilitating podcaster I’ve ever heard, probably getting a documentary deal or something narrating. Love ya bros
Gregg are you my dad?
Reading negative reviews is an underrated segment.
Thanks for keeping the show going while staying at home. This is a great show for fun, relaxed conversation about OUR league. Now if only you could discuss the Broncos more often...
I’ve been a listener for as long as I can remember; the first podcast I ever started to listen to. Listening to the growth of these gentleman over this time has been something I’m glad to be a part of. I’ve also been happy that Erica has become a key part of this podcast. There was a year or two span where every two months there was a new producer. Glad to see her reppin the Cavaliers! Good luck heroes, stay safe and stay yourselves!
Absolutely love the show. Marc, please write a novel or a book of essays! Thanks to Gregg (and JRVP) and Wes for all the great book recommendations. Dan is an amazing host with great hair and excellent taste in music (you guys want some cookies?). And not enough praise can be given to Hero Ricky for being a fantastic producer and wrangling the boys.
Meditating on the greatest of Mike Iupati has kept me calm and centered throughout the COVID sich. Thanks for the tip Mar(c). Can we get another Sessler Meditation session?
Thanks for posting 5 days a week!!! And more Ricky pls :)
A 4-way lock on the 49ers! Let’s go 9iners! Ever player every at each position
I listened since the beginning and couldn’t be happier. This is a never miss pod weekly for me. Love each of these guys and can’t wait for more to come!!!
Just gave you five stars Dan. Hope you are happy now.
Goodness, this Podcast is awesome even though it’s not always about football. However, as much as I want to give it 5 stars, Marc Sessler ruins it. We get it, you don’t like Trump, I don’t care if you don’t Like other political figure regardless of affiliation. I understand he’s (Marc) a friend of the circle but his random rambles, continuously voiced dislike for the POTUS, and average critical analysis of the game makes me want to not listen sometimes. Everyone else, great job.
I know they’re well on their way to 10,000 reviews. I can say I’ve been a listener from day one. I should’ve rated it before, but I’m lazy and am only taking advantage of this shelter in place time. Seriously though, this is a podcast full of jocular football commentary with the perfect “Breakfast Club” assembly of personalities: a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess, and a criminal. Decide for yourselves who is who.
Favorite podcast for over a year now! Keep up the great work guys
My favorite podcast to pass the time. They Always give me a good laugh. Ricky Hollywood does a great job producing and keeping them in check. I just wish that Wes would come back home and be a Bengals fan again!! Who Dey!!
I have probably listened to ATN in more countries than any other listener. Afghanistan, Kenya, UAE, Ukraine, and Austria are just a few examples. I am currently listening daily from Montenegro where we are on lockdown until COVID-19 passes. My friends and I savor each episode like fine wine until the NFL and world returns to normal. Hug your kids, pour your drink of choice, and enjoy the best NFL news & entertainment out there! Stay safe world.
Best football pod
I love the Around the NFL podcast! Always very informative and fun to listen to; always good for a couple of laughs. Four football geeks and the lady behind the glass. Keep up the good work. Shoutout for your tribute to the heroes of COVID19. I laughed and cried; a cathartic experience during these trying times. And all of you are also heroes for providing such a positive experience. You are cultural icons in my eyes. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Started listening when it started and basically lost interest in the NFL a couple years ago, but kept listening to this podcast for some reason. Good people.
Been listening for years and when I tune in it’s like I’m hanging out with close friends talking football (friends that study football a ton that is)... and getting off track from time to time:) Because they let their guard down and their quirks known I feel like I know them all even though we have never met. Top podcast on my list!
Alright, sheltering in place has been driving me mad. I’m writing my first podcast review. Good job guys, and Rick.
I love the pod, I just wish Greg’s voice wasn’t so nasally. Also, I agree with you guys, Mark needs to get laid.
As a busy college student it is wonderful to be able to listen to my NFL news and keep up with the other 31 teams. Very funny and entertaining. I actually love it when they go into their personal lives. You really get to know them to a point where you can get most of their jokes and quips with each other to the point where I find myself laughing constantly. Also it is a nice break from reality during this global pandemic.
Who are these people. How do they have jobs talking about football? Hero’s during these times? What a dueche
I would give this 5 stars if Marc wasn’t on the show!
One of my favorite podcasts - sports-related or otherwise. Despite having four disparate personalities, the guys mesh together in a genuine and organic manner to put out a great product. And Dan does a great job running the show with humor and aplomb. What elevated my rating from 4 to 5 stars is we get great insight into the personal lives of the guys, like learning that Marc’s wife was “oiled and ready to go” waiting for Marc to get home after the show.
Love these guys. Been listening since 2015 and this pod has been consistently excellent. Ol Zeuser used to be the master of bits but I have loved watching Gregg and Marc branch out as well. Wes does a great job at keeping the group grounded and he doesn't let the conversation get too weird/off-topic (except for various Marc rants which I also enjoy). I also normally don't use iTunes for podcasts so I just logged in to leave this review and it is a bit weird to me how Dan is the only one showing any teeth in his smile but what can you do. 5 Stars
Not gonna lie, kind of tough sometimes to listen to Marc complain about his amazing job. But these heroes check every box and are a pleasure to listen to each week as we combat that elusive middle-C.
Great podcast. Marc (with a c) gives fantastic analysis and even better nightmarish readings that somehow disappeared mid C19 crisis. NFL Network’s Gregg Rosenthal continues to be among the best guys in the industry for rankings and QB analysis. Wes’s “Common Man” bonafides pair nicely with his elite film study and unparalleled historic perspective. The host is okay, but pretty annoying. Five stars.
This gaggle of heroes are (and always have been) a lifeline for NFL junkies. When all else is suspended, they cast their craft in isolated bunkers to keep OUR league relevant. One hero, who shall remain nameless, even rented a remote outpost to maintain his commitment to listeners. So I send my thanks now, more than ever, for the daily content I need to sustain in this trying time.
Frick heckin yes
Giving you all a Barry Horowitz style pat on the back! Can we get more of Marc casting from strange and exotic locations in the seedy underbelly of LA? Perhaps a webcast of Wess’s training regiment leading to softball season? Gregg judging an 8 Mile style freestyle battle?Sorry Dan, no way you could look in the mirror with that late season Seahawks lock. Love you bro!
You guys are definitely running out of NFL news to chat about...but I don’t care. Every day I start the pod and it feels like I’m hanging out with dear friends. I roll my eyes at Marc and Greg, laugh at Dan, nod my head with Wes and Erica. Thanks for keeping part of my life sane!
Great podcast. As a home health worker in West Los Angeles my drives between patient’s homes is now more lighthearted, entertaining, and full of football updates that bring some normalcy and sanity during these troubling times. Great football information with all-time comedic entertainment value. Needs more Ricky Hollywood. (Always room to improve)
I’ve been a fan of the pod for years and it’s great to retain some semblance of normalcy during these strange times by being able to listen to multiple shows a week. Thank you for keeping up the good work, ATN.
Great show love the interaction between the host and the fact they not only talk about football but life as well.
If you love football, but also have a sense of humor, this podcast is for you. It’s an awesome mix of football talk and camaraderie. Can’t thank you enough for the 5 shows a week- I haven’t missed an episode in 7 years!
You guys are the true heroes for hitting it 5 days a week. True leaders step up when things get tough. ATN for Prez.
Is this podcast good? I woke up in the middle of the night singing “comeback hurdles with marc sessler”. Seriously though, I’m a 22 year old woman who listens to this pod religiously (don’t know what that says about me tbh) and I’m never disappointed. One of my faves.
The 405 fwy way open
Love the show. I listen to it on my commute to maintain my sanity. The Heroes are fans of the game, pure and simple. They don't take themselves too seriously. Like the rest of us fans of the NFL, they are wrong as much as they are right about what is going to happen in coming weeks of the season, and they would be the first to admit to it. They have their own favorite teams and aren't shy about discussing all the hopes and heartbreaks that come with being a fan. It's not a show for people that like to hear people yell Hot Takes at each other. It's a podcast for people who understand that the NFL is entertainment and understand that it is just a game, but we LOVE the game. Before C19, when they only did a few shows a week, I always had to ration a little bit to try and make it last the week. I realize its pretty tough during the offseason to find content for 5 days a week, but i really hope that once we get C19 in the rearview mirror and the season starts again, they can at least do 5 days/week once the season starts. P.S. A sandwich bet for the Heroes. The future MNF broadcast team will be Kevin Harlan, Kurt Warner, and the cat from the Meadowlands game will be the sideline reporter.
These guys refer to themselves (maybe in jest?) as hero’s, and they really are. During a time of global crisis these guys keep it light, interesting, and funny. Not only that but they are now releasing daily when we all could use a good bit of levity. Thanks for all you do guys and gals. Love you Bro.
If you miss hanging out with your buddies down at the pub and just talking about life and football, then this is for you. Talking about NFL in a funny, topical, unpolished (thank you) way, with strong and informed opinions. And just like your buddies they love and hate certain players and teams in a completely biased way. Do yourself a favor and have a listen.
During these bunker casts don’t you think this would be a perfect time for all of the long talked about off season podcasts? I.E. the theology podcast 5 days a week is great! Get these hero’s on NFL network but don’t stop doing the podcast because I won’t watch the show.
It’s so awesome how this whole crew keeps creating such amazing content and continues to do so during these weird and unexpected times. I am so thankful for being able to laugh and feel normal for at least 50 minutes every day. Thank you so much for all your work; it does not go unnoticed.
You can have your West Worlds, your Tiger Kings, and whatever content is capturing the zeitgeist. Give me the ATN podcast any day. Been listening since 2016 and feel like the four heroes and extended universe are members of my extended family at this point. Hell, with daily episodes during the COVID-19 isolation, they’re basically my closest friends for the time being. Not even mad about it. Whether you’re an avid football fan or not, you’ll appreciate the witty, down-to-earth banter and pulse on the surrounding world dissected by these fine heroes.
So grateful we have the Around The NFL Podcast crew to get us through these troubling times. They are recording these episodes on their own from their homes to provide us needed entertainment and Football analyses when it is needed most. Thank you.
I’ve now listened to my second Graybeards episode, so I feel uniquely qualified to rate this particular podcast. When Dan and Marc are right, this podcast is hot fire. Both are extremely funny and entertaining. That said, the only useful football analysis on this podcast comes from Gregg, who has half a handle on the NFL salary cap, draft pick value and things generally important to running an NFL franchise. (However, I completely agree with Dan that it is much more difficult to build a championship roster when you’re paying a QB $30mm instead of $5mm!!!) I imagine if we went back and looked at their actual analysis of football games, it would almost all be wrong, but that’s not why you should listen! They are funny and entertaining and keep us updated on all the latest NFL news, and it’s been especially great as chicken soup for the quarantined soul. Thank you guys!
Title says it all
Thanks guys, and Ricky!, for so many hours of pleasure. Now more than ever I appreciate your knowledge, humor, ridiculousness, and quirky traditions. Fantastic NFL Pod!
Dan and Gregg have a real Bart and Milhouse relationship. Wess used to like the Bengals. Sessler radiates a cosmic sexual energy that burns like revolutionary fire in the post-apocalyptic dreamscape of a fevered mind.
This team has been amazing, but so much would be lost if they ever stopped being a team. Dan rubbed me the wrong way for a while until I realized most of what he does is a bit to bother Greg and Marc (which I’m here for). He’s a really good host and does really well on camera during NFL spots. Jets Chris is a Saint. Pure hearted humble human being with superior NFL analysis. A genuine scientist in the lab that airs on the side of what is on the right side of history, rather than just X’s & O’s. I’m convinced that Greg is a robot from the future that was sent back in time because it malfunctioned somehow and developed a gambling problem. Elite Scientist that values fact over any sense of emotion. Greg lacks in empathy and bedside manner because he’s just out here trying to make it rain. Marc “wit a C” is the Edgar Alan Poe of this podcast. Both poetic and a bit theatrical with his responses. I love that he loves the Browns (#DawgsGottaEat), however never gets his hopes up. Erica “Ricky Hollywood” is a breath of fresh air. She takes on a lot as a producer and has really started to flex her NFL analysis muscle. She’s not just some “sound gal.” Hope to see her continue to grow in this industry as she has some good insight.
Love this podcast, even more so now that they have committed to daily episodes. While I originally came for the insight and commentary, I also stay for the fun and witty banter. Thank you guys... and thank you Erica for pulling the gang together. Stay safe!
I am a man of influence, so I prefer to keep a fine line between my work and my entertainment. If I write a glowing review, too much of my personality will come out and I will be spotted, especially if you guys share my review on air. So I decided to not give a comment of substance, but instead let my stars express my feelings toward your show. Gentlemen and Lady, you’re welcome.
I started listening to you guys the day Jimmy G got traded to the 49ers because I had a long drive and was bored out of my mind. I knew next to nothing about football. In the years since, this podcast has educate me and grow my love for football. Not only is the sports content good, the mix of personalities and humor makes this show one of my favorite past times. The five of you have made a lifelong fan of football and of this podcast. Thank you for everything. P.S. please do a live show in LA? Why haven’t you already? You guys are hilarious? You can use my house if you need a venue? But seriously, do a live show in LA please!
I just wanted to warn your that if you don’t do something about that show of yours I am going to tell the E.P.A. (Environmental Protection Agency) to put a ban on your program. I am tired of you polluting my podcast app with all those dumb jokes. I think that your show is absolutely awful and am sure that there are others who agree with me. Finally, you say that you work for NFL.com. I don’t believe you. Nobody in their right mind would let any of you write about football. Melissa Peterson Seattle, Wa. P.S. You said you wanted more reviews. Well here it is. I hope you are satisfied. I should get an Around the NFL hat for this. P.P.S. My dog hates your show too.
The heroes have a chemistry that is unmatched in the podcast industry. Each member has their own quirk and purpose. Dan is an excellent host, as the Zuesor sets up his teammates for each of their specialities (and is a bang-up writer himself). Gregg fills in well as the host when Dan is out, but always brings an A game with his high football IQ and non-nonsense attitude (the man was born as a 33-year old). Chris is like a wise hermit, with the occasional need to blow some steam at idiotic takes about football or life in general. And ever the wild-card, Marc is the glue-man that adds endless comedy, brevity, and brilliance with his unique outlook on the world. Additionally, the guests that join in are wonderful. And the honorary hero Colleen Wolfe (aka Tiny Box) is missed whenever she isn’t a part of the show (thanks to her 46 other gigs) but fits so perfectly with the gang. Lastly, but certainly not least, Erica Tamposi is somehow the little sister and mother of the crew at the same time, and they need her! “Ricky Hollywood” is a source of joy and does her job excellently. One day she will sore to new heights, because she deserves it, but the show will never be quite the same, as she is a hero herself. (Also I’m a fan not from the U.K) B-, (carry the three, add six, drop the decimal) 5 stars!
I have been a big football fan all my life and these are the only guys I can listen to that a) really know what they are talking about, but also b) have perspective that this is all a game and is simply entertainment. I will say they can be self-indulgent, and in the beginning it’s hard to listen because of all the inside jokes. However, unlike many podcasts, the more you listen the more it rewards you. After listening for 5 years, I genuinely want to know how these guys are doing and listen even in the off-season. I also share a wealth of inside jokes that keep coming back. Thank you for doing 5 a week, it’s about the only thing in my life that feels normal right now. Appreciate you all!
Great show!! I’ve been listening for 3 years now and never miss a show! Thanks for putting up 5 episodes during this time! Sometimes I choke from laughing while running! Thanks for that. Bring back that cool music idk what it’s called!
This Covid-19 situation is tough and it’s awesome to have something to listen to everyday. Thank you for a flag of normalcy in this landscape of chaos.
I came here for the football tidbits, but I stay for the camaraderie, the jokes, and general goofiness. You are treasures, and I hope you’ll continue doing daily pods. Wouldn’t say no to two-a-days in this trying time. Much love from an expat in Australia.
THANK YOU for continuing to do 5 episodes a week. Since you’ll need to fill time for all of these episodes, perhaps instead of the 3 minutes per team schtick you do for each conference every year you can dedicate a full episode to each team. If the jabronies in philly can pull it off 10+ times a week for my beloved iggles, surely you national heroes can swing it for one episode for every team. My fantasy team will also appreciate it
If you're passionate about football but understand that life is about more than a sport, give them a listen. If you understand that what is being discussed is far less entertaining than who's discussing it and how honest they are about what they're thinking and feeling, give them a listen. You won't be disappointed. Unless you're a putz.
This is the only podcast that I have ever reviewed. I am only doing so because I feel that some shadowy league figures must value it. That is not to take away from what a great job these guys do. Want to put headphones in and ignore coworkers? Pop these guys on and you are in a room filled with friends. Thanks guys keep it up.
I like this show very much. Like most podcast listeners I almost never just sit and listen, but for this one I often go out of my way to find a task to perform so that I have an excuse to play it. Many beds have been made, dishes cleaned, and meals cooked as a result of this. The COVID19 shows have been a special treat despite the limited flow of football news, since it is fun to hear how others, including those with young children or in their pre-child years, are coping in these times.
Love the show! It’s very entertaining, the fellas are hilarious and you learn a lot about football.
You guys are simply the best. Love ya bro’s.
A consistent podcast with pretty good football analysis, and great personality. Mixed in with the inside jokes, good natured barbs, is quality analysis of every football game played during the season, and up to date news on who is the best looking guy in the NFL.
Honestly it’s a great podcast that’s helping me keep my sanity during this quarantine and even for years before. The chemistry between the heroes is great and makes for an easy and entertaining listen. Thanks for the hard work guys
These guys are the best
5 - 27 - 28 ... 👀👀 !?!? IYNYK
These guys are hilarious and have great chemistry with or without nfl relevant content to talk about. They always have great producers as well, shout-out to Tamposi.
“Love you bro”
When I first heard this pod, I thought “This Gregg guy has a horrifying voice”. But I powered through thanks to Dan’s mastery, Marc’s eccentricity, Chris’s combeback, and Ricky’s good humor. So now, when I listen and think of stabbing myself in the ear, I tell myself “No! Gregg is cool too!”. 5 stars. Epic.
I find this show my go to pod cast. I often find myself imagining I’m around a holiday dinner table listening to 4 uncles arguing. Very entertaining
The way I began to listen to the ATN podcast is a funny one, especially because I used to hate looking at their faces on social media (for no reason, sorry guys). So, I have always been a huge football fan but was never into podcasts, but began listening to the Fantasy Live podcast to gain an edge over my friends in 2017, this quickly began developing into an enjoyable habit of mine. By the time the Super Bowl had past, Pats defeat, praised be the football gods; I began to yearn for more #content, especially because I was on my semester abroad in Europe, I needed something to listen to during my travels. So, finally, I decided to give these bozos a chance and honestly listening to them made my day. I began to dive deep into the archives for more of their, ironically non-NFL conversations, it was great. I was attending the World Cup in Russia that year, following around Mexico’s national team, via train, and those train rides were sometimes as long as 30 hours one-way; in many ways the heroes helped me keep my sanity on those eternal train rides. The perfect mix of film takes, dumb manufactured jokes and recurring bits are great, definitely the best football pod out there. Thanks for keeping company for the last couple of years on my commutes. Anyway, here’s my question: If you could assemble a super team of any franchise, it could be made of current players and/or players that once played for this team, no matter how long they were there, which franchise would you choose? Try to name the starters or talk us through your process.
I’ll be upfront about it, I’m writing this as my first review ever (I think) because the team deserves the five stars after hearing a few of the negative ones they read on the cast last week. They’ve been adapting under his new reality and continued to deliver great content from their bunkers. I bet nooddood (one of the haters) is the type of dood that would go on Yelp these days and give 1 stars because a restaurant wasn’t offering sit down service or leave a bad review of the supermarket for always being out fo toilet paper... But I digress (like our hosts). I think Dan, Greg, Mark, Wes And Erica do a brilliant job of balancing a football podcast with great rapport, fun sidebars and honestly, just overall enviable camaraderie. I’ve been listening for years, never once have faulted them for how they deliver their excellent insights and content and they deserve all the attention from the shadowy league figures. I listened to the show back when it was recorded out of Dan’s garage without any sponsors and under the cover of night and have enjoyed the daily bunkercasts. Keep it up everyone and here’s to continued podcasts until 2040 when Brady finally retires and Greg is forced to find someone else to root for. BTW, I’m still waiting for today’s daily reminder from Marc about Sam Bradford...
Thanks for doing 5 days a week!
Hey guys, been following for while and you guys have made much easier for me to follow this sport that i love so much, because I can get the major news and have fun at the same time in my way to work in the busy streets of São Paulo. Now in this quarantine time, I’m always listening during my house chores, so thanks and keep up the awesome work!
Thanks so much for doing this 5 days a week, and for just being yourself. I relate to what you are saying, cause it’s like I want to talk about football, but I try to, and then it just goes back to the coronavirus. Keep on rocking
I listen to the podcast regularly even during the offseason. They do a good job of bringing humor to the NFL conversation.
These guys have won my lifetime support with their commitment to make a new episode every weekday during the middle C epidemic. Easily my favorite sports podcast. What’s even more gripping than their NFL analysis and beautifully entertaining pettiness is witnessing Marc tirelessly carry this team of jabronies straight to the top of the podcasting mountain. Here’s to reaching the summit
Reading of negative reviews should become a regular part of the show. Great work as always. Love the five days a week. Keep it up during these tough times.
Thanks for all the extra content, it makes the days go by more quickly, and knowing no one is in this alone feels great. Thanks for it all heroes.
Sometimes hard to listen when they got super off topic but just stick with them and they’ll show you how to soft reboot yourself.
In addition to the endless mirth and prudent hot takes, I acquired better writing skills simply from listening to Marc Sessler. From this podcast I would imitate his verbiage and sentence structure, both speaking and writing from his articles, and passed every college essay like Baker Mayfield scorching the Bengals secondary in week 12 of the 2018 season. This podcast surpasses every football podcast, especially some miserly, wannabe show called “Move the Sticks.” I was in a tough sitch in college and I now have a degree, all because of the expert wordsmith, Marc Sessler. Dan, Wess, and Gregg are great too. Thank you for doing daily podcasts during the Coronavirus. La Syd is dearly missed as the producer.
An entertaining foursome doing their part to battle cabin fever. Insightful football talk and cringey dad jokes abound in this “football” podcast!
I’ve been listening to this show for maybe 6 years?? Not even sure if it’s been in that long. Seems like a long time. Dan’s bits are hilarious and I love how he looks to push Marc and Gregg’s buttons. Wes is the football brain who does a lot of deep dives as I love his analysis. Anytime Marc does an apocalyptic write up or monologue I listen intently, he's a great story teller. Gregg is a Patriots fan so....there’s that. Could see him becoming the next Bond villain. Erica is awesome does a ton of work loves her job-she’s also a Pats fan which I overlook because her dog is adorable and she has nice teeth 😁. Anyways this group is hilarious they make me laugh multiple times a show. It’s not all straight up football talk and I think that’s okay. It makes me feel like I’m sitting around at a bar just having conversation. We get to see into everyone’s lives and feel a part of it. I wish I could really show you all how you’re a part of mine! Thank you for the 5 days a week, for all the laughs, for keeping us (and you) sane during this weird time. My only request is that Marc say something really nice about my Packers. And even if he doesn’t...Erica, Dan, Marc, Wes, and Gregg you’re all fantastic and I thank you for all the memories these last number of years. Looking forward to many more! I’m adding 1 more face to my podcast Mt. Rushmore so you can all be there.
I would swipe right on each one of these heroes immediately.
Living in Copenhagen, Denmark its become a part of my morning routine to listen to guys. I hit the road for my morning run around 5am which might seem hard, but I am always looking forward to it on mornings with you guys roaming around in my ears. You deliver the perfect mix of news and insights about nfl with personal fun, jokes and sarcasm... I know this might go down well, but if I had to pick one of you guys to spend the apocalypse with it would be... Dan, cracking jokes until the end only challenge is that he might be eating a bit to much of the last food. Thanks guys, keep up the great work!
Enjoy the old white guy dad humor and the rapport between them in addition the football talk...in a day in age when all sports properties are trying to be so cool and appeal to “youngsters” it’s a appreciated
Hilarious hosts have great chemistry. And analysis is top notch too.
These guys have other responsibilities within the NFL yet they continue to prioritize this podcast and it’s listeners. Whether I’m commuting to work in Westchester County, NY, working out at the gym, or showering, I have these guys on. I feel like I’m friends with them and would get a beer with them. They have great chemistry and they’re in tune with a massive league and all of its moving parts. They continue to display knowledge on all of aspects of the league and I just love hearing their insight and analysis. They’re unbiased approach and ability to navigate around each topic shows exactly why their podcast name is so fitting. This podcast is for football lovers so don’t be upset if they don’t talk about your precious team one episode. Love you Dan, Mark, Chris, and Greg. You guys have put a smile on my face so many days as a sat in gridlock traffic on the Tappen Zee Bridge. Thank you Hero’s !!!
I love the chemistry and blunt honesty. It feels more genuine. As well as they are very informed on what’s going on in the NFL. Really good.
I have been listening to this amazing podcast for almost 4 years. These great people make me laugh, give great football analysis, and showcase that they are die hard football fans. Also, as an Oakland Raiders fan, I felt that they did an amazing job representing the emotional rollercoaster of the final season in Oakland. Thank you for all that you do!
My Mom (Nood Dood) gave you 1 Star. But after Dan called her out I decided to rate them much higher. Hopefully she will continue doing my laundry. Best NFL podcast out there! 5 shows a week during the Virus, they truly are "A ROOM FILLED WITH HEROS" ALOHA
I listen to ATN for news about the other 31 teams—I can get hot takes on Lions free agency from the (bafflingly) obsessed local media, but I listen to ATN to hear about teams and players around the league. The heroes are easy to like. Been listening for years and it’s the only sports podcast I genuinely look forward to. I appreciate the daily eps during the quarantine—you guys are really a source of comfort and constancy in my house.
Covers all NFL news in depth and the great personalities make the show that much better. The side conversations and disagreements keep the podcast lively.
I want the hero’s to know that having you guys put out a pod every day has been keeping me sane. It’s the one ounce of normalcy I have during these trying times. Hero’s indeed. Shout out to Erica as well.
Anyone who doesn’t like this podcast has obviously not listened for more than 5 minutes.. an amazing set of heroes, a fantastic producer, and a great gang of guests who drop in from time to time! Don’t know if I would have ever listened to any podcasts ever if I never picked up ATN. Keep doing the Lord’s work heroes. Much love, Marc’s #1 fan.
In a world that has grown more difficult to do even the basics of functions in, the Heroes consistently allow me to gain a little of my sanity back that I lost during the day. Thanks Heroes! Oh #MoreRickyHollywood!
This Podcast has the perfect blend of jokes and analysis. I feel like I catch up on the NFL news and storylines I need to hear while also feeling like everything is put in terms I understand. I love how each person has favorite teams and opinions and I love listening to this podcast, especially in the offseason. Only knock is they say Michael Thomas is better than Julio Jones, how absurd.
I started listening to this pod a year ago and have been hooked ever since. It only gets better with time. I get that newcomers might be put off by the inside jokes, the uneven treatment of different teams, and the more than occasional rabbit trails about the heroes’ personal lives, but get over it and listen. All 5 of the heroes are awesome - Dan (with his endearing Jets inferiority complex and incessant Patriots trolling), Greg (prolific writer of “bangers” and lead singer of the elusive shock rock band Delaware), Wes (with his singular NFL takes and ponderous meditations on contemporary life), Marc (who is like no other NFL reporter I’ve ever heard speak and boasts a singular sense of humor and not-so-subtle contempt for the industry he finds himself in), and Ricky Hollywood (a millennial that seems to have embraced hanging out with four dads in their 40s). A welcome reprieve from generic NFL shows! Wouldn’t miss an episode! You guys rock!
After starting this podcast, I started several other ones. By this point, I’ve dropped all the others, but remain a loyal follower of this one. Nice combo of legit football talk, goofy but still informative bits, and unrelated chatter. Also, they’re friends with Connie Fox.
It is hilarious yet who knows what the future holds
1 stop shop for hot or insightful takes on almost any subject and also they talk about football sometimes. Love ya bros
Like and Subscribe! These guys know football and have a great time talking about it. They’ve been together for years and all the banter and running bits make for a great listen. I never miss a show. P.S. – I grew up next door to Wess’s buddy Al on the west side of Cincinnati. Just down the street from Spice Rack. Wess is right most of the time, but he doesn’t speak for us all. Some of us are still Bengals fans (as unfortunate as that may be). Love ya bros!
Hey I have a listener for 2 years coming from a boarder line football fan to a legit fan now. Heard some bad reviews shared on the show and thought I have to come out and correct that. Very good listen all the time with their rich knowledge of the game. Literally know their stuff without jamming info down your throat. Simply a 5 star show all day long
In a time where we all need to, as Dan would say, “batten down the hatchet’s” (on the Thursday pod). I’m thankful for five pod’s a week from the heroes. Love ya bro...
You guys are the only NFL show I watch or listen to, Your the only ones I trust. Keep up the great work.
I’ve been listening to this podcast for years now and still look forward to every episode. It’s a perfect combo of football and great personalities. Except for how much Dan bags on the Patriots. Keep it up heroes.
These guys not only provide great football insight, but plenty of entertainment. It’s like listening to your four funniest (ok, above average funny) friends who also know a lot about football talk about the sport and league we love. #ourleague
Funny podcast to listen to as they have a great chemistry together and don’t take themselves too seriously. 5 stars for the 5 stars: Dan, Wess, Gregg, Erica, and Connie!
This is a great Pod. Hosts have awesome chemistry and keep it fun and entertaining every episode. These guys went to 5 shows a week to help us all during the pandemic!!
The heroes are an incredible bunch to listen to every time. Everyone contributes their own personality which makes for an incredible dynamic. Even through the ‘medium C’ and ‘big C’ they put out quality content. The absolute best part of the show is learning the inside jokes that have developed since the beginning. I recommend this podcast to many people, even those who may not care about football as much because of the heroes.
I was listening to the podcast while the guys were reading reviews. I looked at my children and my wife as we sat in the den amidst a crackling fire in our fireplace. Little Tommy asked, “Daddy did you review the around the NFL podcast?” Not wanting for lie to my child, but not wanting to admit that I have failed as a father by not yet writing a review, I walked out of the room with tears ready to fall from my eyes. After three whiskeys and one Yoo-hoo in the kitchen alone sobbing (with the 90s pop group Aqua blasting to cover the wailing from my children and wife, who is closer to my parents age than my age), I am writing this review. Not bad. Love you bros.
What have we done to deserve such quality content?
My fav podcast. They have great chemistry and the podcast is super fun
The show is great, interesting group of personalities that add an enjoyable sense of humor to NFL news and stories.
Dan and crew put together an entertaining podcast. Been listening since the Vikings were the team of ATL but their show in these odd times is mostly appreciated for both NFL analysis and the light-hearted humor. Keep on doing it guys!
I am writing this in the midst of the Corvid19 social distancing time in US history. These people have always delivered news with a twist of mirth but now in the slowest news cycle time in the NFL they are delivering podcasts daily in an effort to give us all a sense of normalcy. Great!
I don’t want Gregg to think I’m a jerk
Could be worse
These “Heroes” hover on the Dalton Line of football podcasts. If Daniel Jeremiah replaced Hanzus as the full-time host, it would put this podcast over the top!
Keeps you informed and entertained. Total banger
This podcast is extremely thorough with its well-rounded analysis. I also find myself laughing out loud several times throughout any given episode. It is worth the listen all year round! Solid, solid NFL content here. These are five rising stars in the Network all in one podcast.
I think this podcast is amazing, I’ve been listening for three years and I’m just wondering how anybody else has bad reviews except for Gregs opinions lol!!
I actually love that you guys go off topic and talk about other stuff sometimes. You guys are not obnoxious which most sports radio people are! Love that you guys have favorite teams and opinions!
But this podcast is great. Funny. Concise, and takes my mind off the current state of affairs. Thanks for putting it out there for us gentleman, and thanks Erica for making it happen.
This podcast combines great football acumen with a bit of mirth and is a must-listen for any NFL fan out there.
This podcast quickly became a staple of my life after discovering it years ago. Can not recommend it enough!
This is by far my favorite sports podcast. The opinions are not hot takes, or clickbait they are just 4 regular football fans talking about the happenings around the league on a regular basis. Love it
Awesome pod! They all have great chemistry and I love when they joke around. Quite frankly, that’s my favorite part. Don’t change, keep it up!
Some of the best faces for radio I’ve ever seen! These guys are the bees knees
5 days a Week should be a minimum. Also can we get these guys a show on the network. I mean come on what are doing. What about a live show on SiriusXM NFL Radio!!! PLEASE!!!
Mix of real NFL analysis but mainly four friends having a good time! Love it and thanks for keeping it going from your bunkers!
Very grateful this crew has been bringing it 5 days a week thru this Covid crisis. I am still working 6 days a week(grateful) and this show really entertains and informs me. The rat/cat discussion was above average funny. Tjanks again. Great pod.
Only Pod that I make sure to listen to each and every episode!
These guys are great. The BS is much better than when other shows BS
The guys and Erica keep me going each day! So happy that they’re are 5 days a week and offer fun banter about...sometimes football! Haha just kidding. Appreciate all they do for our enjoyment.
Let’s not beat around the bush, our lives aren’t that great. These guys make it better with every episode. Every time someone asks “any good pod recommendations” I always say around the nfl, even if they hate football. Does not matter who you are or what you do if you want to be entertained listen to these guys talk about football and football related things. Or dont, that’s what life is all about Also shoutout to Ricky Hollywood.
Love the heroes, worship Tamposi. Producer takes podcast to new level despite Rosenthalian shade and periodic disinterest. Love me some Greggg, tho.
Two people on this show have famous friends (Gregg with comedian Anthony Jeselnik and Dan with Director Extraordinaire Bob Castro) and yet only one of them is out there getting their up-and-coming friends at the NFL Network jobs in Hollywood. I guess they didn’t teach people how to climb up and reach back in that coal town Dan grew up in.
These guys are a pleasure to listen to! Keep it going for all of us NFL fans sheltering in place in Hong Kong!
Total Bozos. They are absolutely the least cool people who cover sports for a living. And thank god for it. I’m so tired of all the other tv and podcast hosts wanting to fit in with the athletes. Or the Ringer bros always acting too cool for school. The Heroes are normal dudes like the rest of us and we love them for it.
Four average whites that never even played in this league provide NFL news and analysis with a side of humor. I never miss an episode, even during the off-season. A solid B-.
For people who like podcasts
5 stars for 5 days.
I’m an absolute fan of the show. Love the inside jokes and insight on football. I will say that when I checked out the video version of the show - They all looked different than I expected. I was weirded out for a few weeks, but fell back in love with it quickly. That’s not to be mean in anyway, it just felt like an episode of “Love is blind” in real life... I catch myself laughing out loud and always refreshing my phone for a new episode. Big fan, Go Hawks! [email protected]
Amazing podcast. Love all the guys & gals. Such good friendship had by all. GIVE THESE PEOPLE A TV SHOW NFL!!
I want to leave a negative review so the heroes can read it out loud on the pod, but my insanely high standard of personal integrity won’t allow me to do that. Love each of these heroes and feel like they are my pseudo friends at this point in my life. Dan’s humor, Marc’s insane rants and ability to take a joke, Gregg’s pretending he doesn’t care about anything, Chris’ life perspective (got me through my own cancer scare), and Ricky Hollywood keep me coming back time and time again. Also I guess their football talk if you want to throw that in too. Amazing pod...5 stars
I can’t describe how nice it is to, three or four times a week, find this podcast waiting for me in my queue. I’ve been a loyal listener for over four years, and the natural banter and every-man personality of the hosts make me feel like I’m sitting at the family dinner table listening to my friends talk about the NFL. The analysis and knowledge is absolutely top notch, and you truly get to know the folks you’re listening to. Highly, highly recommend to anyone who loves football.
There is actually a football podcast that is actually about football! Most are focused on fantasy football, but these guys actually look at the game of football! And they have personality! I love this podcast, and love the banter between them.
Sometimes you just gotta get your Dan Hanzus
Been listening to these guys for a few years now, awesome and consistent. Keep up the good work.
This is my favorite podcast - it's very rare that I miss an episode. I've probably heard every one for the past several years. My only compliant is that I'd like these guys to pay more attention to me when I @ them on twitter. I'm desperate for attention. If I saw any one of these guys in real life I would definitely freak out and ask for a selfie. I love the mirth and trenchant analysis but Dan's hair is a bit overrated. It's a bit too gelled for my liking. He should work on making it look more windblown.
Started listening to ATN back in October of 2016 (as I was detaching from sea duty on a submarine) so I'm a relatively seasoned listener. In that time, I've developed a fondness for all the heroes. Not only is the Pod a great way to stay informed about events "around the NFL", but the tangents that get explored are always entertaining. Not only is it leaps and bounds more entertaining than DDFP and Move the sticks, but it's the best sports program I'm plugged into. I am sad to report that I will be leaving my shore duty command and heading back to sea duty on the submarine USS Washington (SSN 787) in June. Keep up the great work heros!
Original content, original takes, good analysis, and a fair amount of mirth. Love the work they all do.
I love all of you especially you Greg, you’re my heart. I listen to you all the time at work and you get me through the day. Thank you for five days a week you guys are legends
Listening since 2014. Endlessly entertained. Don’t think I’ve missed more than 10-15 pods. Perfect blend of football and semi-outdated pop culture comedy.
Love what you guys are doing I listen to you guys every morning on my ride to work, I love that it's not just robotic NFL talk because you guys are human and do have life's. Please make a new podcast of just you guys talking about life and world issues.
For the heroes
Thanks for the mirth.
As someone who owns 1 share of the Green Bay packers I feel like I am more than a constant listener, but also a boss for the heros. Your yearly review is. Great podcast, good job with the bunker casts, have more Packer talk.
My dog Marc with a C
have become legends the last two weeks. Thanks for the content, bozos. Peter S. is a talentless hack.
I’ve been listening for years. Is it accurate that’s it’s been since 2011-2012? Wow. I’ve listened to other podcasts and they have other things to offer, but I make sure to listen to this podcast regularly.
Love the recent 5 episodes per week clip you guys are moving at. Wish this was the normal amount of air time and not just caused by the madness known as Covid-19.
Very rarely does a show or podcast start great and maintain a high level of consistency, but this one does. The Barry Larkin of podcasts. The 5 a week schedule while everyone was giving each other the social d (tough sitch) has been a much needed escape. Keep up the great work!
This podcast is a splendid mix of informed football analysis, great senses of humor, and a familiarity that only hosts who have been friends for a long time can provide. I’m in college and can officially hang with the cleveland frat boys because of your analysis. Thank you Hanzues and co.
I don’t think Greg would release them if doing so would solve this pandemic. 5 stars
Not the heroes we deserve, but the ones we need. Thanks for the daily content during these hard times.
Loved it, for years.
You guys are great. Absolutely love all the banter. Crush it with the analysis. And a special thanks for coming through in a tough sitch with the bunkercast! Please keep it up! And remember no one outside this locker room believes in us!
You guys are the best. You are the reason I fell in love with the NFL again. My friends and me sometimes feel like we are sitting with you at the table, while you speak. Special shout out to Ricky. Your fan, your man Marko with a K. #KeepPounding
Sorry Greg, kinda threw you under the bus there. It might be Chris who doesn’t enunciate.
Can’t wait for each episode to hear not only what’s new in the NFL but what’s new with the Heroes!
Long time listener (2014), whatever your stance is on a football topic you will find support and an argument against it on the ATN podcast. Plenty of different views from Dan taking the poking fun angle of topics. Wes taking the angle of on-tape talent. Gregg taking the contrarian stance on topics, and Marc (with a c) always coming up with an interesting angle to look at a topic (even if it includes natural disasters during the middle of a season). There’s something here for everyone to love so long as you enjoy you understand that football is meant to be about entertainment. If you’re looking for a football podcast that entertains and informs you, don’t go anywhere else.
Full of heart from start to finish
I look forward to this podcast! Ins hte past, I wrote "I wouldn't mind if it was more than 3x per week." Woth COVID-19, now it is, and it brings joy to my days :-) The hosts and guests all work well together, and after listening for half a season now, I feel like they are long lost friends. Keep up the *great* work!
I’m really trying not to be a homer for my team. This podcast has helped me understand the NFL much better. Also, the guys and Erica are hilarious. They make you feel like your hanging out with your best friends.
There is a personal touch with this podcast that you don't often get with most national media podcasts. After listening for years, I feel like I know the heroes personally (even though I don't). Insightful, funny, and great production (good job Ricky!), this is a must listen! P.S. Please be nicer to the Lions, us fans have been through enough...
My favorite pod. Warts and all
Great podcast! The hero’s balance of football knowledge, trivia and sense of humor is very entertaining. Love Rickey Hollywood, but have to say I miss Dan’s relentless torment of La Cid on Disneyland😂🤛
This show is tremendous, the best! These guys have the best words, and are always winning. I love winners! I would give them a 10/10, an A+. They do major tremendous work, really it is the most tremendous, believe me. But actually, thank you for 5 shows a week. You guys are awesome!
I look forward to listening to y’all every week. Been listening to y’all for a little over a year and it feels like I’m hanging out with buddies talking football and life. Marc has great takes and cracks me up with his conspiracies and his beefs with anyone that somewhat slights him. Greg very well versed in the biz side of the NFL and is the heel of the group. He somehow just knows what to do when it comes to clock management, maybe he should be a coach. Dan is a confident man to say the least and is a great host. Too bad the Jets stink. And Wes is a football historian that never minces his words when it comes to Jimmy Graham’s speed. On a serious note, love the pod and y’all are hilarious. God bless you and your families!
Absolutely enjoy everything about the atn podcast. If you enjoy up to date nfl news, Whitty banter & good laughs... kick back relax crack a corona an enjoy, no better podcast to get you through another hour of quarantine!
Solid covering of the NFL and love analysis of games during the season. The dad jokes are classic and reading more articles by the guys since I started listening to this.
Easily my top NFL podcast. Informative and hilarious at the same time. The banter and the obvious friendship between the heroes makes for a great show every time. Hard to find such great chemistry on a podcast(haven’t seen this on any other podcast yet).
I love this podcast and listen to every episode! But... I can’t stand the way Greg says “figures”
Love the heros
Funny on top of solid general NFL news coverage.
Subject says it all. End. Of. discussion.
Love ya bro
Dan has the ego, Marc has the conspiracies, Gregg has his denial of Pats fall, Wes has the experience and levity to be the grown up, and the Star who holds it all together (Ricky Hollywood) You guys are awesome keep up the hard work from home
This pod has consistently saved me from myself and without it I would not be here today. My family and I thank you.
A delightful podcast of delightful people. I’ve been listening religiously since 2014, back when the Browns were playing meaningful December football with their savior, Brian Hoyer, at the helm. I’m a lifelong Chiefs fan, and I managed to keep listening, even when they were called the most boring team in *our* league. I share a birthday with half of these bozos. Long live the heroes! Who’s John Gonzalez?
Been listening to this podcasts for years and happy they are having 5 a week now and keeping us sane. My question is... what is going to be the new dalton scale now that he’s not starting? We need a new player! How about Derek Carr??
Listened and enjoyed this podcast for a long time. I listen to a lot of more serious NFL and Fantasy Football analysis podcasts and it is nice to listen to a group of people with all different perspectives on the sport without the in depth film study backgrounds. I certainly appreciate the 5 episodes a week during this weird lockdown time within our society.
Great show. Keep it up, boiz. Loving the daily pods. 5 stars
Sir Hanzus, hands us, entertainment from Salt Lake City to Kansas. From over the pond there’s no tendency to yawn, just perfect how the Hollywood queen uses the heroes as her pawns. Gives us some humor Sir Sessler, I even enjoy the pod with an IPA and a slur. I don’t believe what I hear or see, ya’ll know who I’m taking about lying thru his teeth. Sir Rosenthal, I’ll go ahead and call, the lie about your TB12 withdrawal. Sir Wessling, congrats on your baby to be. Just do us all a favor and make sure the baby doesn’t root for that sad, porous Bengals team. You guys all shine and are our true shield, helping our minds battle with the sword we wield. You give us sanity while the Wolfe rocks her vanity. Just glad I can ease my mind with the pod as my remedy. Thank you once again, the ATN heroes are truly the best but how the hell does Sessler get an Airbnb while in this mess?! Now it’s time for the Pats to join the rest, in purgatory with the Bengals, Browns, and the Jets! You guys are awesome and please keep the ATN Podcast rolling!
Great crew and a fun time!
The Ol' Zeusers hair and beard game looking hot AF. Mark is also hot, and Wes is looking great after cancer. Gregg on the other hand needs to take a long hard look in the mirror, figuratively and literally. By that I mean, he is not as hot as the other 3
Come on! This is the best Podcast I have listened to. I started listening last off season and have been hooked since. The guys are very dynamic and the chemistry between them is so entertaining. The 5 episodes a week has been much needed during these crazy times, so thank you. Keep it coming, and stay sexy, Ricky.
I would give this group of four heroes TEN stars if I could. Having listened to every episode, I’ve followed Marc and Dan to their spin-offs (thanks for Pearl Jam Dan). Even when a hero is hooky you're treated to guest hosts the likes of the Tiny Box or Lindsay Rhodes! Why am I torn? The pod has slowly incorporated more and more on-air interaction with producers and the current producer is unbearable. Worse is Dan’s inappropriate flirting that borders on creepy. I can only hope that the usual 12 month stay for producers on this show gets the revolving door spinning. To finally hear hope in Marc's voice when he discusses the factory of sadness, Dan’s Jets not disappointing his dad, Cincy possibly re-recruiting Wes’s soul, all while the throne of sleaze meets the same fate as the iron throne…it’s worth he wait.
I have been listening to this podcast for the past 4 years. I listened to it as I did yard work and had a very basic understanding of the NFL outside of my favorite team. As a result of this podcast I have been able to have a better grasp of what happens in the NFL without having to sift through all the online articles or watch NFL network when I do not have the time to always. They present the information in a fun and entertaining way while. The hosts are relatable and it is always enjoyable to hear how they interact with one another. While they may not always be the most concise with their analysis, I have yet to find another podcast that covers the NFL as effectively and as entertaining. Thank you.
I enjoy this crew with or without football. A perfect balance of people.
I like that the show is on every day now. I listen to podcasts to glean information and be entertained. The hero’s do both.
This podcast is the perfect blend of humor and football analysis, and the right touch of mirth.
Really appreciate you guys continuing to pump out content, even with not much to talk about sports wise. I still have to commute to work and you keep getting me through it. Also, best producer in the business.
Perfect balance of football knowledge and entertaining banter. This show has been part of my football routine for four years, and it’s still the first podcast I turn on when I see it in my queue.
Love ya bro(s)
I’ve always loved this show, but I’m really enjoying the daily “bunkercasts” while I’m stuck at home. Thanks guys 😊
Great podcast hero’s. I listen to you guys every night before sleep also my commute to work. Thanks
I look forward to seeing a new episode in my feed.
I would give my life for the heroes. Thank you gents, and Ricky of course.
I love this podcast and you will too. The 4 main hosts each bring a unique style and perspective in their analysis, while also bringing their own personality and sense of humor. I’ve laughed a lot while listening to this. The off season pods are arguably even better than the ones during the season because it allows the hosts’ personalities to shine through even more. Would love to see them on tv more. I don’t have nfl network right now, but if they had their own show I’d probably subscribe.
One of my first go to pods. I sometimes get the guys mixed up except for Dan. Their voices are similar.
I used to listen to this podcast to escape the issues of daily life to listen to fun takes on the nfl. But with the recent covid 19 they are talking less on nfl & more on complaining about their circumstances. I know there isn’t much nfl news but maybe make a fun game, maybe a trivia game anything but more about covid 19. It’s their show so do what you want maybe I just need to stop listening til this blows over. Still my favorite nfl podcast.
I'm a long-time listener. I've listened to countless football podcasts over the years, and this is the only one I stick with year after year, all year long. And honestly, they are thriving during this pandemic. Who even needs football? (just kidding, but seriously) Also, and this is no small thing, they have great taste in cinema (and TV), which is a rarity in the sports media world.
I picked up this podcast in the fall and haven’t stopped listening. You can tell this group been doing this for a long time together and I really enjoy the rapport and candor that comes with that. From picking at each other, to snide “behind the curtain” remarks about their jobs at NFL.com, to their struggle between wanting more exposure on the network and then immediately sabotaging themselves (see Gregg’s “Lubed up” and “mashed potatoes” as my personal favorites). It’s all outstanding (even when it goes off the rails). On a personal note, I cannot thank you all enough for continuing to do 5 shows a week (especially Ricky for setting it up). The normalcy this show brings is something I look forward to every day. Would have given it six stars, but lost a star for jumbling idioms. I’m pretty certain Dan said “battening down the hatchets” last night. Unforgivable.
Best nfl podcast I’ve ever heard and everyone does a great job. I listen every time a new podcast comes out so thank you for keeping me sane during these crazy times. Especially for me because I still have to work being essential personal. Stay safe and keep up the great work!
Thanks for your insightful takes on aspects of the NFL and providing a good distraction during Covid-19!
Great balance of football talk and Tom foolery
Best NFL Podcast ever! Hero’s are hilarious. And great football insight. Greg is my least favorite!
This podcast is one of my favorites. Should you keep doing 5 a week after the quarantine stops, I would not hate it. Keep up the laughs and updates
It makes isolation bearable. The perfect mix of football and not football. Thank you to the team.
I listen to every episode and and my favorite parts are when they stray from football. The more I listen, the more I like these guys.
LOVE THESE HEROES AND TINY BOX
Been with you for 5 years, Iceland loves you. Thank you for 5 a week, stay safe!
The best football podcast you can find. The guys have great chemistry and hit league news in fun ways.
I would listen to this crew discuss just about anything. The vibe and friendships are just fun. But as an NFL nut, this becomes the perfect podcast. Always my first listen of the day when they drop a new pod.
You guys are great, a nice fun filled analysis of the NFL landscape as a whole. Perfect for cooking/cleaning/running or anything else I hate doing that’s not watching football.
Great podcast. Maybe worth a new iTunes picture
The crew is hilarious, give great insight, and their friendship helps the content.
If you like football and have a sense of humor it is an amazing show. A reminder to not take yourself to seriously with a football spin.
Greatest podcast of all time, love y’all!
Cheers to the heroes!
This has been my favorite sports-related show on any medium since I started listening to podcasts around 2013 and I felt compelled to write a review in appreciation for their recent efforts. The HEROES have cranked out more content in these troubling times than I could have ever hoped for. My only concern is that prolonged exposure may have some unexpected side effects. I recently met someone named Hee Geon at work and couldn’t stop thinking about Wes. Your pal, Ara
Been listening for ...6 years? Dive in and then checkout the archives. Great camaraderie. More Ricky Hollywood, but I need a Syd hit/follow up!
I’ve been listening since the early days of ATL. The heroes feel like family (definitely not in a creepy way). As a nurse right now, life is pretty heavy. The daily shows that Dan, Gregg, Marc, Wes and Erica have been putting out have meant so much to me. They don’t ignore the angst we are all experiencing, they give it some space and then move on to football. And any number of other random topics. It is a comfortable place to be. A delightful distraction.
Around the jets is a better title.
Dan Hanzus and I share a birthday, which happens to be the first day of the Coronavirus Edition of the NFL Draft. I would love to have a virtual drink with him that day! Oh, and the show is legit. Screw the haters saying y’all get off topic. It makes y’all fantastic. Stellar news. Riveting shows. Ricky need a raise for being your babysitters. - Topher
The show is a cant miss. The heroes bring an amount of pure joy to both NFL news and podcasts- it is one of my daily/3x weekly show and I look forward to it much. Bless y’all- shoutout from Kingsland, GA via Petaluma, CA!
I am currently listening to the boys and Ricky reading reviews and I understand the negative reviews but this podcast has genuinely changed my life. It’s amazing the relationship you build with all of the guys and Ricky. Marc is extremely unique, has the funniest zingers (note how he says “please” at the end of his funny critiques) Chris is personifies the word resilience and is arguably the most well spoken and intelligent (no disrespect Greg, Dan, Marc or Erica) person On the show. Greg is awesome and to me usually has the most accurate analysis with the most effective factual evidence in his takes. His use of PFF is extremely helpful and to be honest helps in my daily blue collar debates. And then there’s the ZUSer, unbelievable host and a perfect mix of professionalism and ease to really tie the show together. I can’t explain enough I’ve been listening since 2017 and these guys ROCK. It’s hard to believe Erica is in her 20s based on how mature she is and obviously how skilled she is at her job! Like I said I’m listening to negative reviews and as a die hard listener wanted to back up my heroes!!! I understand change is never comfortable and they might not blow your mind (especially with the current events in the world) in the first 5 minutes but this crew is amazing and personally this is a podcast I look forward to listening to every day!! Skol Vikes (and pats, browns, jets, and not sure where you’re at Chris... colts?)
I’ve been listening for years and this show doesn’t ever get old. It feels like being in a room with a bunch of friends who just want to talk football because they love it as much or more than us listeners. Whenever I get a new wave of podcasts I always double check to see if a new ATN is available before starting something else. Definitely give them a a shot for a few episodes!
Great show for keeping up news from AROUND the league, rather than just your own team, the Cowboys, and the Patriots. Lots of fun with more banter in the offseason and an animated SparkNotes (or if you’re old, CliffsNotes) version of each regular season game. Come for the football, stay for the heart. Love ya, bro.
A unique concoction of football analysis and weirdness.
It’s like hanging out with your best friends and talking about football. I’m a Falcons fan and love this show, even with my team getting dunked on every other episode!
Dan is very handsome. Now that dan will read this I just wanna say this is an amazing podcast. Love all the hero’s and flyeaglesfly. Greg predict how I die.
I’m in my early 20s and This is my favorite podcast, a show about some 30-40 year olds discussing football. Probably says more about me than them but they’re hilarious, wholesome and their chemistry is off the charts. 5 stars.
The 4 hosts hold court 3 to 5 times a week to deliver to the masses a podcast rich in football knowledge, delightful banter, and above all; mirth. You will find yourself learning more about football and, if you’re lucky, life. As a fan of football and podcasting as a medium, this is my favorite show without a doubt and I think if you give it a chance i think it could be your favorite too.
My go to football podcast that helps me get through my commute, workouts, and occasionally to sleep (in a good way). Love these dudes! Byah!
Your mom is
THANK YOU GUYS for doing 5 shows a week right now! So I’m a transplant from Huntington Beach to Jacksonville (I know!) and a huge NFL fan in the land of people who worship at the alter of college football... so listening to you guys is kind of like hanging out with like-minded friends. I call you guys “my guys” when I share stuff with my husband from the podcast. So now with the global pandemic, I spend most of my time day drinking in the pool and at night, after the pod is available, I take you guys into the bathtub with me (via a Bluetooth speaker). It’s something I look forward to everyday! So thanks, guys. Stay safe. Oh, and Dan, sounds like maybe your break from drinking ended before Wednesday’s and Thursday’s shows. 🥴
Wes, Who Dey nation is ready for you to come back. Zac Taylor is here and brought a new culture with him, and with Joe Burrow on the way it’s the perfect time to hop on the wagon. Btw because I knew you were wondering my ATN power rankings (Peter Schrager has a lot of influence on me): 1) Gregg 2) it 3)doesn’t 4) matter 5) Marc
They be dropping straight fire
Greg, Marc, Dan, and Chris are fantastic NFL podcasters. Well read, and well researched these guys bring an element of humor that isn’t usually coupled with such academic proficiency. Love these guys!
My favorite podcast ever.
All of these reviews talk about the guys, but I want everyone to know that Erica is the true gem here and if I ran into her in real life I’d give her a high five
This is by far my favorite podcast to listen to. Can’t count the amount of times you guys have made me laugh out loud. Keep up the good work.
If you enjoy light/ medium depth nfl news and banter between long time coworkers and friends, this is for you. I’ve been listening to these guys for years and I’ve always appreciated the focus on mirth. I get to learn key facts about the NFL in a conversation format instead of in list form. They make the offseason shorter, especially this year. Thanks heroes!
I've been listening to these guys for the past 5-6 years, and they're still my favorite to listen to whether I'm commuting or just doing something at home. The four of them (and Ricky!) have great chemistry and keep you up to date on the NFL while always being entertaining. There's definitely a good bit of inside-jokey stuff that might be difficult for brand-new listeners, but you'll be up to speed quickly enough. Just a great podcast for both the casual or avid NFL fan.
Great group of humans Fun dynamic Great football incites and discussions Fun side players Overall...B-
Super entertaining with topics well beyond the NFL. The relationship between the hosts are my reason to listen. Plus deep dives into rats and cats.
This is the best podcast available to humans. I have been listening for years and genuinely appreciate that the hosts actually like each other and really enjoy what they do. Would give 10 stars if possible.
By far the most relatable and entertaining football podcast.
I have only been listening since the summer before the 2019 season. At first, I just found it to be the MOST entertaining football content I have ever enjoyed. Over these several months of listening, I have now been won over by every person on the podcast and am now a fan of each one! I can listen to them talk about anything. They have improved my viewpoint on football and given me such interesting takes to discuss with people around me. Thank you Dan, Chris, Mark, Greg, and Ricky! Appreciate you guys and the excellent content you produce!
Come for the NFL news, stay for the unbelievable host chemistry, wild tangents, and slim chance to hear the lost Delaware tapes.
Rosenthal said that if I give less than five stars I’m a bad person, so in order to remain on the path to self improvement and perhaps turn over a new leaf, I will now leave these five star to you, my dear podcast hosts. Be true to your school and remember the Alamo.
Love the analysis and witty banter. Wasn’t a podcast fan till jumping on board the ATN train. Especially nice during these trying times very much appreciated. Here’s my question: Big LA chargers fan- why isn’t Jalen Hurts talked about more as an option for several QB needy teams? Makes sense for Chargers draft capital wise with the ability to use #6 pick on BPA and then still be able to secure a very promising player with a high second round pick or trade up if need be scenario? What say you?
Love the show boi’s! Y’all are living a lie though, there’s only one team of the ATL podcast and it’s the panthers, I know it, y’all know it! Hey, y’all Greg that I’m sorry for his condition. Go Hawks!
Great Podcast. During this virus induced 5 show a week you should spend a day covering the draft and who you would like to see go where. As a Pats fan I would like to see Jalen Hurts head to NE. You could do a Dave D still N if L episode.
I hope this podcast never ends. I haven’t missed an episode since April 2018. I laugh almost every episode and come fantasy football season this show is great. But everyone on this show, especially Erica, is a joy to listen to. Please never end.
I was coming out of middle school, had finally been given an iPod by my family, and desperately wanted to learn more about the sport of football. Looking to the podcast app I searched NFL and browsed for a show I felt comfortable trying. By pure luck, I chose this one. From that day on I became I diehard fan of the program. I learned the names of the hosts so that I could read their articles. Car rides to summer soccer games were filled with talk of the Chip Kelly offense, Marc’s wayward Browns and Dan pestering Gregg about Brady’s gradual decline. The night of my first kiss, the night I asked my girlfriend out, every night before major exams, the night before I graduated, bus rides to state championships...I didn’t get hype or calmed by music, but by the voices of these incredible men and their “touch of mirth”. Initially alien references if NFL demigods of old by Wess or 90s rock bands by Dan become more familiar to me. Being a Broncos fan in Patriot country, my experience with fans had been questionable to say the least, Gregg with his clever sense of humor and realistic takes changed my perception of the Pats from one of spite to that of respect. Marc Sessler, weaving his outlandish yet purposeful word choice and writing style began to impact how I wrote my essays. I found myself beginning to reference jokes of the show in real life. While I have learned genuinely tons about the NFL through this show, the memories (ex: Marc reading off a massive list of words to describe the Cowboys offense) it has provided and the times it had been there for me have meant so much more. I listen to many, many NFL podcasts now (many of them thanks to people I learned of through your show), but the ATN podcast remains my favorite. No matter what I’m listening to, when the ATN podcast pops into my feed I listen. I’m 19 now, I’m no longer the scrawny kid who spent hours upon hours of car rides listening to sandwich bets. I’ve grown up (now a civil and environmental engineering student), but as I’ve grown up this show has always been a part of. Even now, when my roommate falls asleep, the dorm is dark and the whole world around feels as though it sleeps this show is my go to. I hit the play button, settle in, and feel as though I’m in a room with people I really know and care about. Dan, Wes, Gregg, and Marc (and while you guys have had a run of incredible producers, Ricky is the GOAT [with her own incredible podcast and comedic career] and makes every show better) you have been a major part of my life...for a major part of my life. I realize that when push comes to shove that this is just a podcast, recorded audio by 4 guys across the country from me that I will likely never meet. But this show means something to me, and so many others. The quality of product and the genuineness you put out there is unmatched. I truly wish y’all the best, and will already be thankful I chose your podcast that fateful summer day. Sincerely yours, NT
Please include a picture of Ricky in the program thumbnails!
A great show with less hot takes and more well thought out opinions. All five have a great dynamic and the shadowy league figures should give them a tv show!
I have been listening to this podcast for over 5 years. It has been great for my commute. Over the past year my interest in the NFL has dropped significantly but I can’t quit this show. It’s a beautiful blend of information and mirth. The hosts have great chemistry and it listening to show feels like putting on a comfortable pair of pants. Many thanks to Dan, Gregg, Marc, and Wess. All of them do an incredible job. But a special thanks to Dan. His hosting is incredible and the show suffers the most when he is the one missing. You have made me laugh out loud more times than I can count. Thanks for putting in such a solid shift every episode.
Thank you for the extra podcasts, I love the new format. I would pay for the extra episodes during the season.
Thank you so much for 5 shows a week. Very entertaining and excellent analysis. Thank you so much for 5 shows a week. 5 stars for saving my sanity. I sincerely appreciate all your hard work and I hope you are all safe during this crisis. Thank you so much for 5 shows a week😀😀😀
This show is by far the best podcast out there. A mix of charismatic football talk lightly blended with lively bits and a dash of humble brags. 5 stars well deserved
Thank you for the bunker casts! I love them. They are helping to get me through these days. I am a mom of 3 and I have to giggle when I can hear the kiddos. My husband and I are trying to learn to be office mates...😆
Thanks guys for making me laugh. Don’t know how long you’ll staying together but however long the years have been a little easier because of it. Got me saying little C. Lol
I love this podcast! I don’t really understand why people say you guys go off topic, because to me it keeps it fresh and interesting. If it was only the latest news it would just be boring and like 10 mins long. Keep up the good work guys, love it🤘🏼
It’s the best Podcast about the NFL.. quality info, analysis, and humor.. the guys seem to genuinely like each other and their chemistry is great!
I don’t normally read reviews, but for some reason today I started scrolling thru some opinions on our heroes. The ones that leave 1 or 2 stars and complain about them going off topic are hilarious! I especially love the review that talks about “them complaining they don’t get recognized, but then complain when they do get recognized.” Haha. Clearly these people aren’t listeners of the show. It’s the equivalent of leaving a review of a movie when you’ve only watched 10 minutes somewhere around chapter 20 out of 30. You’d have know idea what’s going on. It’s the same thing here. Don’t know how they feel qualified to leave a rating and review when they obviously haven’t listened. People are ridiculous. And it’s a shame, because even though it’s a very small percentage of a percentage, it does affect their rating. Anyway, I’ll give them 5 stars. I love them! I haven’t missed a show in 4 years? 5 years? It’s been a long time. Too long, as I feel like I’m a part of their group. Keep up the good work fellas! These other clowns will eventually go back to listening to Move The Sticks and leave us alone. - Scotty
Before I begin my critique I will start with the positive, being that I generally find this podcast to be entertaining. I’ve been a listener for years and find the crew’s dynamic to be charming and fun. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the heroes through their banter and I love the reoccurring bits. Their analysis has never been the most in-depth, but they do cover the league in a way that I find quite enjoyable. With that said, the reason I give this podcast such a low rating is because they have increasingly strayed into discussions about politics, social/cultural issues, and have been openly complaining about their jobs. We live in a world where everything has become hyper political, and it’s incredibly draining to be bombarded with political/social hot takes everywhere you go. I’ve always viewed sports as the great unifier. It is the one thing in society that we could all get behind and set our differences aside for a short time. However, this podcast keeps feeling the need to weigh in on various issues whether it be politics or most recently the corona virus outbreak. Personally, I’m not here for that. I already listen to political podcasts and I don’t need yet another. Also, these guys seem to be complaining about their work/podcast more and more lately. I understand that it’s their job and it probably has its ups and downs, but it’s not fun to listen to people complain about any job let alone one in the entertainment industry. Finally a message for Gregg(though I doubt he will read this): Stop acting like the morality police. Please. You like to preach about morals and chastise people for doing/saying things you don’t agree with, yet you hangout with Anthony Jeselnik. I find Jeselnik to be hilarious, but the dude has made a living by saying terrible things that many would get up in arms about. So please just stop casting yourself as the morality czar, it’s not the job for you.
First time I listen to this podcast these dudes start talking about how no one recognizes them out in public but when they do they don’t want anyone to say anything to them. Then they start going on about the corona virus. So maybe there’s good episodes but the first couple minutes of listening to this group of individuals....they were annoying. Get over yourselves. Talk about football not your sad life.
Love listening to this podcast everytime it drops. Very funny and very in touch with whats goin on in the NFL. Gets this Mailman through some tough days!
Thank you for existing! You help me hold my own in conversations with my football head friends. This pod is ridiculously entertaining and I can’t stop listening. Off season or during the season... it just keeps getting better. Continue forever!
These guys joke around and make fun of people which is not funny. They typically cut each other off and impossible to follow as they jump all over the place. Maybe you'll like it. I didn't.
I gave them 3 episodes to win me over. It didn’t happen. Lots of talk about themselves, surprisingly bad audio quality as some voices are volume 10 and others 2 which makes it very annoying. Very little talk about football. I was hoping for better, I have unsubscribed.
Daniel Jeremiah and the Move the Sticks Podcast better MOVE on down to second place, the ATN Heroes are absolutely incredible. This was the first NFL podcast I started listening to when I first got into the NFL about 4.5 years ago. The premise of the show goes beyond just football analysis but it offers a comedic sense of relief and segments that present the information with a fun twist. I truly feel like a 6th friend of this show (of course including Ricky) and I can’t wait to one day meet them at a live show. Overview: Dan: JETS fan (ouch), great hair, still in his 30s, and enjoys intimate contact with Gregg. Gregg: Patriots fan (yawn), loves to talk about money contracts that players will make, doesn’t do ANY sports betting, and is just trying to get some air time. #JRVP Marc: Browns fan (ouch x2), possibly a conspiracy theorist to some degree, easily annoyed, will respond to any tweet you send him, is least respected by Peter Schraeger. Chris: retired Bengals fan, also loves the Colts, Cowboys, Titans, and Broncos, he’s a cancer survivor 💪, offers incredible game and player analysis. He can get very fiery and has the most iconic line in the show. Tybee!!!
This podcast used to be great but now it just feels like all media that covers football on a national level. Any fan of a particular team knows far more than this group about the team they follow. It’s not worth the listen to get surface level knowledge when alternative podcasts do a much better job and their uninformed takes are easily rebuked with a quick twitter search.
This podcast is consistently funny and entertaining. It has some decent analysis, sometimes, but that is not the focus. Marc and Dan are not really analysts, and Gregg and Wess are fine but aren’t usually given room to really educate, since the show is more about entertainment than analysis. To be honest, football itself is almost secondary to the podcast, which is really more about the relationships and lives of the four dudes. I remember far more about Wes’s wedding than I do about what they thought about any particular week 14 game. To be honest, it is the only football podcast that I enjoy listening to most when they aren’t talking about “my” team. Dan is a shameless (and admitted) Jets homer, Marc is in it for the narratives, and the analysts have to cover 32 teams, so they can’t do a great job with any particular non Patriots non Jets non Rams squad. Those three teams though do get a lot of solid coverage though. I docked them a star because Dan and Gregg are aggressively wrong on Josh Allen and it irks me to no end. But I’d still recommend this podcast if you’re looking for a laugh.
Love all these guys. Great show with excellent production. Rosenthal for president.
Easily the most informative and fun football pod available. Don’t get too big for your britches boys.
I almost left 3 stars because I only share a birthday with half of the hosts
My all time favorite podcast and I am only a casual football fan. Dan is the perfect host and the “supporting cast” is knowledgeable, humorous and entertaining. They each bring unique contributions to the show and the chemistry between the “heroes” is terrific.
Love this podcast! Enjoy listening to this on my drive to work. I have to say, this episode had me shook. Biggest flex I’ve ever seen by Dan. He had Erica cut a portion of the show off so he could say the title of the song. I listen to other podcasts (JRVP) but haven’t actually seen a host cut a portion of the show off. Erica also kills it all the time 🙏👍
Carousel of qb episode took 7 minutes before they started talking about football. No one cares about what what gifts y’all giving your wife
These guys do a great job previewing and recapping all the games and going over NFL news all while having a good time. Started listening to them for the first time this year and the pod helped me get even more out of this season. Can’t recommend them enough!
Decent podcast, the more I listen sadly the more I dislike each person on here. Mark being the most tolerable. Seems most of the “analysis” these guys do isn’t watching or studying NFL. I’d like better if didn’t have favorite teams. You all aren’t funny your jokes are terrible. Most overrated podcast I’ve ever listened to. Straight garbage!!!
So bad that it would not work
you are great have fun I love your foot but I love someday I watch it somehow guess they ever figure all of the new game all of you James and thank you all of you yes
