American fell to Boston 76-66 Wednesday night, dropping the Eagles to 4-12, 1-4 in the Patriot League. Here are five key plays/sequences from the game.  1. Terriers come out on fire Boston came out on fire, with Justin Alston getting anything he wanted down low (and Mark Gasperini clearly trying not to foul) and the Terriers continuing their torrid 3-point shooting — making their first four from long distance.  2. Delante uses the baseline  American fought back from the early hole and made it a game thanks to multiple offensive contributions, but especially Delante Jones. The sophomore had maybe his best game of the season, consistently using the baseline to get to the hoop and finish on both sides of the rim. Delante finished 7-12 from the field and was 6-7 from the free-throw line, from which he's struggled.  3. Terriers come out of halftime strongAmerican went into the half down just 31-24, but that quickly expanded to start the second. Cedricc Hankerson knocked down a 3 and was fouled by Sa'eed Nelson for a four-point play. Then after Gasperini missed a layup, the Terriers — who impressed their quick pace on the Eagles all game — pushed the ball and Tyler Scanlon hit an open corner 3 for a 38-24 lead.  4. Gasperini with the moves Gasperini helped get the Eagles back in the game through a variety of moves. Here he caught the ball, passed it to Delante, and then cut correctly for a layup; hit a 3; and kept his balance after getting bumped by Alston to finish in the lane. Gasperini finished 8-18 for 21 points.  5. Cedric Hankerson provides the nails in the coffin The junior finished off the Eagles with a pair of big shots. Perhaps the largest sequence came when Alex Paquin took a questionable 3 and then on the other end Max Mahoney rebounded Kyle Foreman's airball and fed Hankerson for an open 3. Then after Delante cut the deficit to five, Hankerson came down the floor and hit a ridiculous step-back 3 from the wing for an eight-point advantage.

American fell to Lehigh 69-63 Sunday afternoon, dropping the Eagles to 4-11, 1-3 in the Patriot League. Here are our five key plays/sequences from the game.  1. Early foul trouble for American's bigsIt didn't take long for the Eagles to dig a deep hole of foul trouble. Freshman Mark Gasperini picked up two quick fouls, relegating him to the bench for most of the half (he'd repeat the exercise in the second half and play just 10 minutes). To make matters worse, Matt Cimino was whistled for a pair of fou...

Credit to Lonnie, he's kept working on his shot and taking open looks and his 3-for-3 shooting performance as part of a 13-point first half staked the Eagles to an early lead. 2. Jarred Jones in the paintFrom the opening tip, it was clear that American had no answer for Loyola's 6-6 Jarred Jones.
