Haunted places was the very first podcast that I had ever listened to. I love your voice it gives the stories a creepy vibe.
Great podcast! I get chills listening to some of the stories. Polcyn’s voice makes everything even creepier.
I’ve enjoyed this podcast a lot. I’m a big ghost fan and the places Greg talks about are creepy and fun. I will keep listening and keep them coming.
I just started listening to this podcast and I really enjoy it, especially the content warnings. I don't need them, but I know a lot of people do.
Good show content. Way to many product promotions and advertisements for other shows for my taste.
Absolutely love it been binging this podcast and I’m so hooked 🙌🏼
These storylines are pretty much the best ghost stories on iTunes, give it a listen, and maybe when you dream at night you may just wind up in your own ghost story
This has been my favorite podcast for years love you Greg!
This is my absolute favorite podcast and the only one that I listen to religiously. The writers do a brilliant job of working some truth into each story and don’t make anything over the top or unrealistic. Like Robert Stack from Unsolved Mysteries, Greg’s voice is absolutely perfect for this series and I can’t imagine anyone else doing it.
Perfect for anyone who like thes a good ghost story by the fire when they were camping. Awesome storyteller.. Hooked after my first episode Palacio de Linares.
Just discovered this during my favorite horror podcast’s in between season break. I’ve been listening to so many episodes and really enjoying the story telling, the narrator is excellent and conscientious about social issues some of these stories touch on. The background music and sounds are professional and gives perfect atmosphere and stories/legends/myths which may have been told before are given another angle which is very fun. Sometimes horror or scary stories can be predictable so it’s entertaining to hear the well written alternate info and perspectives that this podcast offers. Also trigger warnings are given right away and the writers seem to have a conscious for human rights and social issue!
I love the premise and the content, but I think it’s super corny how they have stories told in the first person. I also think a lot of the sound effects are way corny, but overall I like the podcast.
You do a mighty fine job making people crap their pants. Seriously though I love this podcast and am hooked after 30 min.
This podcast will hook you in.Just the right amount of scared without graphic violence hold your attention and gives you their overall feeling between what the heck just happened and all my gosh I’m frightened love it you won’t be sorry if you try it
Listened to a few stories and I realized very quickly that I prefer interviews of people who have witnessed paranormal activity, and the history of a place over the singsong voice of a storyteller sharing nonchalantly of parents killing their young children in a story to reel you in. Some might like it but it’s not for me.
I loved this podcast. The disclaimers at the beginning became too much. I originally thought they were a joke. However, warning listeners about the mention of insects is too much.
I love this show
You guys are doing GREAT! I can listen to you all day. Some I get scared so much I can finish til day light 🤣. Just to know it’s real stories is just amazing. Thank you. Keep it coming
I just found this podcast. I am a Tudor-phile, so a few quibbles. Katherine Howard ran screaming from her guards at Hampton Court, not the Tower.
Love this podcast! It is one of my favorites!! I’m on the way to listening to every episode!! Halfway there!! You won’t wanna stop listening once you start! Very good true information! I’m a true crime fan and love scary movies! This podcast is perfect! Amazing story teller! I have found no flaws!!
This is a really enjoyable podcast but I can’t listen to too many episodes at once. The narrator uses this deeper “scary” voice to emphasize certain words, and it’s great. He has the voice for it. But it’s used like 20 times every episode. It no longer has the same effect, it’s just annoying and distracting. I literally just stopped half way through an episode because it was annoying me. I’ll come back in a few days maybe, we shall see.
i love the story’s even though i am 8. 1* i don’t get nightmares 2* i subbed 3* relates to paranormal survivor 4*ghosts5*
There is another version of this episode. The murderer says “I’m in your country now,” then hangs up then “I’m in your state now” then hangs up then hangs up then “I’m in your city now” then “I’m in your street now” then “I’m in your house now” then finally “better check on the baby”.
It's what I've been looking for! This and Unexplained, I think, truly scratch my itch for a creepy, well-researched story.
The narrative & story line always make the information so much easier to digest. I enjoy adding to my places I want to visit from this podcast almost every time. Thank you for what you do!
I enjoy hearing the history of the places, but the stories they create to “draw you in” just do the opposite for me. They’re mostly cliches and the narrator tries way too hard to sell it.
I wish they had stuck with telling true crime stories. I’m tired of hearing their political views.
This has quickly become my favorite podcasts. I really enjoy the combination of facts and rumors, as well as real life encounters.
Most of these are just the worst case scenario that he doesn’t have proof even happened.
Every single human live matters, regardless of skin color. Love everyone and be nice. Stop pushing your Marxist ideology.
Another one jumping on the bandwagon and bringing political/social views into an otherwise good podcast. I don't support anyone do this and am unsubscribing. If you want to be political/social, have a seperate podcast for that.
Out of all the podcasts that are on Parcast, Haunted Places is my absolute favorite!!!! Love the stories! Keep up the awesome story telling!
Love this podcast, I have been listening for over a year now, but I am disappointed that parcast is trying to force you to get Spotify. I would love to subscribe to more Parcast channels but they are only available in Spotify now 😡🤬
I found this through the Supernatural with Ashley Flowers podcast and it’s great! I am only a few episodes in but I love the way he tells the stories. And honestly his “dramatization” totally draws me in! I love that I have so many to look forward to!
The best love it ❤️
Is their a preview to hear before subscribing to any of these fascinating stories ?
I listened to other Parcast shows with Greg and was surprised when I first heard this. I had chills when I first listened. He wraps you in the story. So good!
Fssss for some reason the idea of a ghost with a knife is so funny to me 5/5
One of my favorite podcasts!! So excited to see Emily’s Bridge on a podcast. I grew up in Central Vt and all the locals love Emily’s Bridge during Halloween. Thank you so much. Keep up the great work!
I wanted something entertaining to listen to while working at my office job everyday and this podcast is exactly what I was looking for! Spooky stories with a dramatic flair. I actively look forward to settling in to work everyday just so I can listen to these. Would recommend!
Greg is the perfect narrator for this. He’s so dramatic and just great for this show. These are ghost stories. They’re SUPPOSED to be dramatic. That’s what makes them memorable. This podcast is great.
To the “theatre kid” who complained about his voice being too dramatic, in theatre there’s no such thing as “too dramatic.” When you are on a stage you exaggerate your makeup and expressions so the entire audience can see. When people can only hear your voice, you exaggerate your voice to draw the audience in. Please don’t pretend to be something you’re not. On a lighter note, great podcast! Love the research put into this.
Found this podcast a few months ago and I’ve loved the stories coming out of it. Narration is good if a bit dramatic at times since I’m starting with older episodes. My only problem is what happened to podcast #2 for the 3 part podcasts for Jeffrey Dahmer? Couldn’t find it anywhere and no explanation was given as to why it wasn’t in the list of podcasts. Only #1 and #3 are available to listen to. What happened? Anyways, will continue to listen. Good stories!!
The negative reviews I find to be honestly quite hilarious. I really get into the stories because of the dramatic voice and the extra stories that are essentially making you imagine what would happen if YOU were the one to visit the place! So some rare few facts get crossed... so what? That’s how history tends to be.. it’s like the telephone game.. some bits of the story can change with time. I love this podcast because of how excited it makes me get to want to go and actually visit all of these places. So very cool. The detail is very important, and I enjoy all the work y’all put into every episode. Thank you!!
I just started these stories. I really enjoy them until I came to the waverly hills episode. Being from Ky every ghost fanatic knows the stories about the TB hospital. I was very disappointed when I heard the very beginning. You talked about a little girl with a ball. It’s a little boy names Timmy and he has a red ball. If you roll it he will play with you.
Omg my husband and I find this podcast delightful because of the overdramatized descriptions! I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but they’re so over-the-top that we can’t help but laugh.
This is SOOOO great and SOOOO dramatic ❤️
This show rocks
Love listening to this podcast while at work. Would definitely recommend to friends!
Hey greg,,, you’re a cool dude,,, just PLEASE CALM DOWN ON THE DRAMATIZATIONS. as a theatre kid your voice is painful to listen to. talk normally. please. otherwise, (despite NUMEROUS factual and chronological errors), it’s a pretty good podcast.
I have a hard time finding a podcast that I can listen to without getting bored. This one has got to be one of my favorites!!
I love this show and listen every week. I was so excited to hear the story of Julia LeGare on Edisto Island. Edisto has been my family’s vacation spot/second home for over 40 years and I’ve visited the LeGare tomb many times. The island has several ghost stories and legends and this is on of the best. So much history on Edisto and I love to hear it recognized!
This show since day one has been phenomenal, BUT even before Corona they had started making episodes shorter and seemed to be phoning it in content wise. They had introduced me to haunted places I was unfamiliar with, and I never missed an episode as soon as it came on stitcher or apple. I’m sure success has made all them busy but please don’t turn into Dan and Dave from GOT. The only thing that can knock y’all from the number one spot is you. Even at 50% y’all are still far better than 95% of the others.
I love these people, they know some really deep ...dark truths that no one talks about. At first it seems a bit cheesy but the dude speaking is incredible at story telling and I could put a picture in my mind for every story!! Keep them coming! More stories on Colorado & New Mexico please 😻
One of the best podcasts ever! My ultimate favorite to listen to everyday! Thank you for making these stories come to life!
Love everything horror!
I’m going to say three words then pause. I’m going to say three words then pause. I’m going to say three words then pause.
I enjoy hearing about stories from famously haunted places. They are not the widely heard stories either.
This is the best parcast ever and I’m very interested in stuff like this while I work at nite and it helps make the time go by faster
Love this podcast!!!!
I absolutely love this podcast! Greg Polcyn’s voice is a great match for these stories. I love how he is able to bring the story to life in each episode. There is no mindless babble or opinions for ten minutes before the actual episode begins, it’s straight to the content. I have subscribed to most of the Parcast Netword podcasts but this is definitely my new favorite!
I am absolutely in love with the par cast network. I use to absolutely HATE podcasts! Literally hated them! I hated the voices of people just babbling on and on about stupid things. I couldn’t get into them! Then I was introduced to the Parcast Network....my whole world changed and I can’t go a DAY without listening to an episode! I don’t think I’ve listened to an episode that I DIDN’T enjoy! You guys do the episodes in such a way that makes it interesting and the music adds that touch that makes me feel like I’m just listening to an audio book almost! It would be awesome to hear a Haunted Places episode on The Horton Mine!
I was recommended to this podcast and feel in LOVE with it. Digging the Urban Legends. I would recommend to anyone! Plus I love how they warn younger podcast listeners if it is too gorey or grim. Thanks for that.
I got about 3/4ths of the way through episode two going “this is not what I remember about Marie Laveau...” before googling it myself. Cross referenced with a reputable Tour company in New Orleans, and what the Podcast portrays is all mucked up. Unsubscribed.
I love this podcast & many other parcast podcasts. Haunted places has to be my most favorite one out of all of them! I can literally recite the intro with no problem & Greg’s voice is perfect for telling such creepy stories!
I subscribe to many of parcast network podcast, but not a fan how they want their members to switch to Spotify. If this continues I will unsubscribes from all their shows.
This is my new favorite podcast! I love the ambient noise/sound effects and music. The host has a great storyteller voice and way he tells each story of the haunted place and its history, is creepy yet captivating! If you ever need more material Fort Vancouver/Officers Row and Orchards Park in WA State are extremely haunted! Thanks making me happy to subscribe!
It’s a good podcast. Not the best one I’ve ever heard but it is still good podcast for scary stories.
This series is awesome!!!! I don’t know why but I even listen to it before bed. My favorite episode so far is The New Amsterdam Theater one
I understand not every story are from languages you speak, but it would be really really beneficial if you could consult a local about pronunciation. The japanese episodes in particular are so off you might as well not even say the names. It’s really distracting!
I love this podcast. I listen before work. After work while driving home I listen intently. Greg has a great haunted stories voice.
There are no ghosts and no haunted places.
Love every episode!! Can’t wait for Thursday to come just for a new episode... some I’ve heard twice
I was surprised to see that you had nothing on New Mexico. The state has a history of paranormal events from the Kimo theatre to a historic orphanage where a young boy died.
I enjoy your stories of hauntings, mythology, crime, and everything in between!!!!
Hard to find a good professional podcast but this is one.
Absolutely love this podcast. I’ve listened to every one on here, mainly at work as it keeps me focused. Always looking forward to the next weeks episode.
Holy Crap where has this podcast been all of my life?!?! Im obsessed! So happy to have found this podcast!
Just listened to the Snowden House episode and it got me sitting at the edge of my seat. Their research and expert writing takes you on a deep journey into the subject matter. Thank you 🙏🏻
I'm new to this podcast and the paranormal being my favorite subject, I was instantly hooked to this awesome stories and paranormal information.. I definitely recommend this podcast to everybody , Keep up the great job , 👍
Such a great podcast to listen to love the history and information in each one!
What happened to the Jeffrey dahmer one
Please make more of these!!! The fatal hair-do scars me for life and I don’t think I will ever sleep again. R. I. P me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, my family finds this freaky and when I listen with my headphones on it sounds so Cool and Realistic!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIVE STARS!!!!!!!! KEEP IT UP!!!!!!
If interested in another creepy pasta podcast please check out ❤️ CREEPY PASTA MYTHS by Andrew Borja A new kind of horror podcast Love this podcast! ❤️
Very interesting and eloquent.
I love the live action stories and the way you all tell the mysteries of all of these stories. Thanks for recording and keep up the great work!
This is an amazing podcast! It has the perfect amount of scary and suspense. The cliffhangers are to die for! Please upload more amazing stories.!
This podcast is so creepy and interesting! I’d recommend it to anyone who likes a creepy story.
My favorite podcast, I really love ghost stories:) I really like the narrators voice as wel
I wish this podcast was just a little bit better I think you need to host you just get bored listening to the same guy talk
You should do the haunted really big park in Los Angeles
If I could give - stars I would if you going to make a podcast on real haunting do that but please refrain from spreading false history. Voodoo is a religion and you can/have offended people who practice it.
This podcast was once my absolute favorite. But now it’s rare to get tot he haunted, spooky part. It’s mostly overshadowed by the gory, bloody disasters. The last few have been so caught up in back story that there wasn’t even a ghost story to go with it! It really should be called Tragic Places or Gruesome Places. Also, please stop describing vomit. That is unnecessary.
Love this podcast! So glad I found it!!
Really like the show. Maybe look into rolling hills asylum in New York
I love the show! I have a suggestion, Northgate mall in Seattle; ghostly children and Ted Bundy
These are deliciously chilling stories enhanced by Greg’s wonderful voice!!
I love listening to the story details of the paranormal and waiting for the next one.
Love this show! I’m hooked!
Absolutely the best! Greg has such a great voice and keeps me mesmerized. Awesome!
Too dramatic in the telling. Tone it down. I’m not a child at bedtime.
Been listening to this show off and on the past couple of weeks when I got to the Tower of London episode. The narrator refers to Henry I as the son of William II, when in fact they were both the sons of William the Conqueror and therefore brothers. That’s a pretty egregious error to make, and due to not being able to trust the researcher I will no longer be listening to this show.
Absolutely obsessed with this podcast! It makes me feel like it’s the Halloween Season all year long! And Greg’s voice is perfection!
Urban legends was a fantastic podcast to get in the Halloween spirit
The entire show is heavily scripted from an ad read to promoting another show it’s read from a script. The host has a half whisper voice for what I assume is an attempt to increase the spooky factor but it falls well short of being spooky and is more creeper. Great show if you are looking for something to fall asleep to
The fact that Greg can make advertising sound scary is funny 😂🤦🏻♀️
Suspenseful voice. Great stories and loved the urban legends during October
After trying to listen to several different shows from the Parcast network, I’ve found that, no matter the subject, the podcasts are incredibly boring because all of the narrators are so terrible. If you like radios shows from about 1934 then maybe the delivery of these stories will interest you, but for the most part it’s fairly cringeworthy and just plain awkward to listen them try to speak like they’re 🤖 totally 🤖 natural 🤖
Greg’s overdramatic voice in an attempt to be “oh so spooky” is f$&?ing annoying! It’s like listening your grandpa do a really bad impersonation of Rod Sterling and Laurie Anderson’s love child.
High quality, very detailed, and an excellent use of background music. Definitely interesting. 5/5
I LOVE Urban Legends! What a great podcast! The hanging man was awesome!
I love the Urban legend Halloween special!
I just now heard about this and I’m hooked. Starting from the beginning. Greg’s voice is perfect and the stories are scary and interesting. I absolutely love it so far!!!!
Always interesting and entertaining! Great mix of tales, and perfect storytelling <3
Love this pod. So much fun!
I listen to these at school and they’re really great! My friends take one of my AirPods and then look at me like I’m crazy. This is such a great podcast!
I really wanted to like this podcast. Paranormal spooky podcasts are my favorite type to listen to, so I was excited to find Haunted Places in my list of recommended podcasts. I listened to about 5 episodes before giving up. The places themselves are highly interesting locations and could fill an entire episode if research was done, talking about the history/experiences of actual people at said location, etc. instead, this podcast gives a brief overview of the place and then launches into 30-40 minutes of poorly written fan fiction about the location, occasionally peppering in a fact or two about the place. If I wanted fan fiction, I’d head to Tumblr. I’m incredibly disappointed by the quality of this podcast. If you want any real content, go listen to Lore instead.
Dont change a thing except your commercials please. Jimmy johns is a big game hunter and kills elaphants and anything else just for fun. The guy is a total heartless jerk. please dont support this company.
I like the stories. I especially like that they are takes from all over and not just the same old places that I hear about over and over again. Keep up the good work! The urban legend stories are a great idea. Some of these I’ve never heard. The Michigan Dogman was interesting to me because I am from Michigan and have never heard of it.
I love this podcast. It is heart to listen to while in class. I love them. My favorite one is the Stanley hotel. Love it.
I have been waiting for the perfect podcast to listen to around Halloween to catch my eye and here comes this one in perfect timing just 4 days before Halloween! The wait is over! The hosts voice is perfect for these haunted tails and the stories are well told. Like a movie for your ears. The urban legend episodes would be perfect for around a fire. Happy Fall Ya’ll!
A few of”Urban Legends” have been too creepy for my tastes but I have listened to all of them. What does that say about me?
I’m a hotel housekeeper and this is one of my favorite podcasts to play while cleaning rooms all day!
title says it all. i work at a library, and i like to listen to Haunted Places while i shelve books.
I have FINALLY found a creepy podcast worth listening to! I love the mix of history and just plain creepy stories! Thank you so much for taking the time to do these! Please keep it up!
The Urban Legend episodes are great! Keep these year round if you can!
Amazing podcast. I’m binging it this October and it’s amazing. The narrator has a great voice for this
I’m completely new to podcasts and have already experienced one terrible one (no names here), but THIS is awesome! Great stories, amazing sound effects, perfect narration, and fun facts all about haunted places. I LOVE spooky stuff and this is the perfect podcast for me. I hope they never stop producing! It’s perfect to listen to while driving as well as listening to whenever you’re ready for a good spooky story about a REAL place. And even though I’ve heard about a few of these places before, I’ve never been told their tales in this magnificent style before. Will always recommend to those who enjoy this genre! :)
Truthfully, I have no idea about the content, but the narrators spitty way of talking is too much for me. I can’t get through the first five minutes.
Binge, binge, binge. Great podcast always entertaining!
This podcast has gotten me through many days at work. The narrator has a fantastic voice. Could you do an episode on the Menger Hotel in San Antonio?
This podcast has excellent stories of hauntings. Very well done, very entertaining and the hosts are great. Keep up the hauntings
Haunted Places isn’t one of my can’t-miss podcasts every week as sometimes the content isn’t terribly interesting to me, but when they are discussing a place that intrigues me, it is always very well done. The narrator is excellent, which is really important for scary podcasts (see: Creepy podcast - the narrator makes most of the episodes unbearable to me). Meanwhile, the production value is top notch. Occasionally it’s a little too involved, but usually not too bad. I also am loving the October urban legends series! This is the type of content I love to listen to during Halloween season. Bonus props to the team for taking the time to provide clear warnings for each episode, for everything from gore warnings to avoiding issues of cultural appropriation. Bravo!
This podcast is amazing especially the urban legends bonus everyday. It gives me something to listen to while I’m at school and while I’m doing homework. Please continue your amazing work
While I love the Haunted Place podcast and have listened from the very beginning, I am LIVING for the Urban Legends Series! Thank you for producing superb content every week (and every day for the month of October).
This is a great podcast to listen to at work. I love the content and history about the different places. I’m just wondering when Virginia city Nevada is going to be featured. I live close to the area and have encountered multiple haunted places in the town. The Washoe club is notorious for being super haunted! Sue hope to hear about it soon!!! Thanks for the entertainment!
Since you guys are taking certain liberties with stories surrounding these locations, would it be possible to include some LGBTQ+ characters from time to time? I understand if certain people are documented as being in heterosexual relationships, but if you’re making up certain individuals or otherwise using your creative license, would it be so bad to include characters that aren’t heterosexual/heteronormative? I still love the show. It’s very well done. Keep up the good work.
I actually found this cast through another one i was listening too .... and im sooo NOT Disappointed. His voice is fitting with the stories and one can tell they really do their research, which gives the listener satisfaction that they are hearing real and good stories. Also makes me want to visit these places even more. A coworker actually made me jump at work bc I was so enthralled in the story (as well as being creeped out ) 😂😂 definitely a ten/ ten in my book!!!!
This is a great! Watching ghost adventures and just being a horror movie fanatic as well as with the paranormal this is a great podcast. The narrating is easy to understand and super clear! He definitely makes you feel like you’re around a camp fire and he is sharing these stories / facts.
Just like all parcast podcasts, the idea is great. Yet it is so boring. The bones are there for a good podcast, but it fails to deliver
Fantastic mix of real history and legend.
I’ve never had anyone read bed time stories to me when I was a kid. This is what it feels like. I love how you tell the history and part ghost stories that relate to the places....❤️❤️❤️👍😎
The way the stories are presented in this podcast are so hard to follow at times. The imagination in the story is great but the story gets lost in all the details.
He puts everything into the podcast and, oftentimes, makes me ecstatic that I listen to it during daylight hours! Love the calm, quiet voice that builds to the scarier part of the story. Keep it up!
I’ve listened to every episode and not a single one has been boring. I look forward to Thursdays!
One of my new favorite podcasts! I love the spooky tales!! The host’s voice and background music/sounds are great!!
I love listening to these spooky tales while at work. They have become a favorite podcast
I listen on my commute to work every morning and can’t wait for the new episodes. Wish I could listen to a new one every day!
The build up on the episode I listened to is interminable. Pick up the pace!
Great podcast! Both narrators are incredible and keep us, the listeners, so wrapped up in the story. Not to mention the amount of times I get goosebumps!
Amazing podcast and great narrator! Just listened to several episodes and I'm hooked! I don't know if you read the comments but here are some places you should talk about: Congress Plaza Hotel- Chicago, IL Site of the St.Valentines Day Massacre (2122 N. Clark St.)- Chicago,IL Lincoln Park(Was once Chicago’s largest cemetery in the 19th century now it's a public park with a zoo but there's some people still buried there)- Chicago,IL Manila Film Center- Manila, Philippines
This podcast draws you into the story in mere seconds. I love how the music and sound effects add to the story, making you feel like you are part of the story. This is truly a podcast you will want to listen to in the dark whilst sipping on a cocktail.
Love the stories and the background music. The vocabulary truly paints a picture of the events which are very well researched and thorough. The speaker has a great voice that is easy to listen to. Only gripe is with the accuracy of some of the details- lafittes blacksmith shop does have electricity and has for some time now (how else does that tv in the back operate!) Otherwise, love the variety of locations and would highly recommend!
The stories are pretty good, but honestly, I find the narrator really annoying. His voice is patronizingly slow and it seems like he’s putting on some weird affect instead of just speaking normally. Also, the stories are told almost entirely in the passive voice, which makes them boring instead of full of action.
Another amazing podcast from Parcast! I enjoy the dramatization aspect of "Haunted Places," and Greg has the perfect voice and tone for it. Nearly every paranormal show focuses on the history of the hauntings, to the point where I have become an "expert" on famous locations and their hauntings. Hearing the same history again and again gets old after a while, so they stories - cheesy as they may be - gives a fresh aspect to the episodes and keeps them interesting
I am so glad my friends, Jerry and Tracey at Hillbilly Horror Shows Podcast mentioned Haunted Places. It’s really hard for me to find a good podcast. I only have a handful! This one is one of them. The Narrator really makes these stories come to life. I am almost finished listening to all of them! I can’t wait to hear more!!
Love love love LOVVVVVEEEE this podcast!! I cant listen to it at night cause i get scared LOL but during the day im HOOOKED
Great story telling
I love it!
I never rate podcasts but this was was so good I had to! His voice makes the podcast. Love the stories
I agree with a previous review- the history is great but the made up stories are quite lame- less of that — more history & witness accounts please! The made up stories are the only reason I will only listen on my ear buds- just not a good part of the podcast
I love the podcast and just a little suggestion. We would like to hear more history of the places and the actual witnessing of the haunting of the place instead of a made up story about the place
I like how they have just one narrator but he just sounds lifeless it be nice if it felt more alive
He has such a great voice and makes the episodes spooky. Several times I have had the hair stand up on my arms and had to look at round to make sure I was alone. Always look forward to seeing a new episode pop up every Thursday!!
This has become one of my new favorite Podcasts! Each episode is filled with some history and background about the subject and the host is exceptional in his narration. You won't be disappointed.
I am a big fan of spooky podcasts, and at first I enjoyed this one. I originally gave it 4 stars for lack of some important information (on if the stories are true or not). Now after listening for a while the monotone voice and dramatic narrative is getting old. Don’t recommend. After a while every episode feels the same.
One of my favorite narrators. Good listen. Perfect length
Love letting the podcast take over for an hour on my drive home.
I want to love this but, the monotone voice becomes dull and I loose interest.
I gave it three stars but there are so many others out there that are better. The narration and hyperbole are just too much.
I listen to everyone of these podcasts. I don’t dislike any of them. I enjoy the stories I enjoy tuning out and listening to something spooky. I do feel it could be enhanced with a tiny bit more sound effects. If the “ghost” or person is singing a hymn, hits someone to sing a few bars. Play with some effects and have it fade out under narration to give those people listening with headphones a true auditory experience. Im sure you’d even have tons of fans who have the talent who’d be willing to play the ghost (cough cough).
I prefer a less cheesy, breathy, absurdly emphatic reading/performance(sic) of the details about haunted places. I didn’t realize Yellowstone had a history of mysterious deaths but the pseudo-you-are-there details from the point of view of a kid who plummets to his death into the falls left me thinking the whole thing was bad fiction.
The guy who does this is great and he’s carful about what he says about religion
I love the historical context behind the hauntings. Fun show!
The stories are just that... scary stories to tell around a camp fire. It’s not bad but it would be nice if it was more matter of fact. Most of these stories I don’t even believe.
Have to give this 3 stars because of the narrators over-exaggerated voice. Just speak like you do in the Serial Killers podcast and you’ll get 5 stars..
The ghostly stuff is interesting but what’s even cooler are the little historical details I didn’t know
Very interesting and it actually makes you visualize the scenarios I would really recommend this!!!
I love listening to this while traveling and around the house.
Absolutely the best
I love this podcast and look forward to it every week but the last few weeks it’s been sped up. The last couple of weeks was pretty annoying but this week it’s sped up way too fast. I don’t want to listen to Alvin & The Chipmunks! I hope this is fixed soon!
These are all just stories nothing is factual other then the place mentioned. I wish they would investigate the haunting and explain the history instead of making up a story
If you want to stay up until 4 in the morning spooked this is the podcast for you ;)
It’s fun to listen and historical as well as will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up! I could listen to it all day
These podcasts are delivered with understated quality. The listener ‘believes’ due to the well written narrative and accompanying sound effects. This places the listener in the middle of the story and that is often a frightening place to be. Bravo!
At first I thought the narrator was a touch hokey, but absolutely works! I was sold on the premises, even yelling at my stereo "RUN! RUN NOW"! Good writing, good narration, but I think you keep to two stories max. Fun time, but this isn't good enough to make my daily rotation
I only wish there were more episodes!
I am not a believer in ghost & I'm incredibly skeptical to say the least. But I'm hooked to these stories. He tells them in a way that is captivating and in that moment makes you believe that they're real. Almost like reading a good book. I find myself not only being drawn into each and every story, but also learning a few interesting facts about the places that he talks about. In the mixture of these captivating stories, he mixes in some facts that are educational to the listener. But educational in a way that is fascinating & fun.
I love the stories!
I listened to 40 plus episodes in the last week! I love this podcast, super addictive and captivating!
I just started this podcast last night and I was hooked within 5 minutes of the first episode! I love the history & stories behind the places in each episode! That makes it that much more interesting!
Listen to it whenever I get bored BUT MAKE A NEW EPISODE please I been waiting forever but I love dis podcast night ☠️
I usually give your show a five star rating but this time only at three. I have lived in Northwest Florida for the majority of my life black water river recreational is in Milton Florida not Pensacola Florida.
The Monte Cristo Homestead episode has many terrifying moments. It's a must listen from the series!
It gives me goosebumps every episode. The stories are informative and creepy as hell.
Creepy yet fascinating, I’d recommend this to anyone who’s into this stuff.
Your podcast is by far one of my favorites! I absolutely love your voice and sound affects! Keep up the kickass work, I look forward to your episodes every week 💕
Just started this podcast and I’m in love. The narrator is AMAZING, his voice is perfect and his pacing is suspenseful. I love hearing the stories behind places instead of just scary experiences there.
Love that it’s not just a bunch of anecdotes about recent experiences, but that we actually get to learn the history and folklore of these places. Well done! It’s a favorite!
It’s like the adult version of the book scary stories to read in the dark but based on real places and real history. Look forward to it each week.
This is one of the best podcasts in the world I wanna go to these places
I loved it!! So spooky & makes me want to visit these places. The narrator has an excellent voice!
It’s reminiscent of being told ghost stories around a campfire.... fun, thrilling and keeping you in the edge. The stories are riveting and scary enough that they linger with you for the rest of the day.. and into the night. I look forward to Thursday’s to see what’s next
Love this podcast, it’s perfect for a dark night! Great narration and atmosphere.
I cannot get enough of the podcast!
It's like a Halloween ghost story that you can listen to year-round. Great series.
I love listening to this podcast at work, it’s one of my favorites.
I just discovered this podcast. I binged on it at work, I LOVE IT!! I told a co worker about it and he loved it! Thank you for keeping the story interesting. Keep up the good work 😀
I use to like this show but a few of the episode the stories dates are messed up. After listening to the Ryanhall story the third episode I notice the mistake, I decided to comment about it . The Ryanham hall story it went from Dorothy’s disappearance to a 100 years in 1835 when it appeared to the Colonel. After that event the story teller said a year later in 1736 ? If it would of been a year later it would of been 1836. I mean I know is a scary story and not facts but it looses its affect if you don’t keep the decades straight.
I love this show! I finally got to listen to the “Lake Superior” episode today and, as someone who spent four years going between Marquette and Munising, I have to say that the description of the lake in the beginning was good enough to make me feel homesick for the lake! (Then the stories reminded me why I never swim in it alone.)
This is without a doubt my favorite podcast! Love the stories and the way the narrator tells them. Can’t wait for new episodes every week.
I love this podcast! I look forward to Thursdays when new episodes are released. Always contains fantastic content and just the right amount of spooky.
Why do I feel like the host's voice is trying to get sexy with me? The storytelling is very goofy, and I find myself grimacing once a minute Had to eventually unsubscribe.
The entire par cast network is amazing. You can tell so much research and effort has been into the production and execution of the episodes and the network in total. I listen to SEVERAL podcasts; Hostage, Female Criminals, Crimes of Passion, Haunted Places, Unsolved Murders ETC They are all amazing and worth the listen times.
I just finished the podcast on Lake Superior. I Loved it! I live in Marquette, about 5 minutes from the edge of the lake and about a 40 minute drive from the big bay light house. I knew the scuba diver you referred to at the end of the podcast. It was a tragic loss. My husband is a certified rescue diver and has dived on many of the wrecks. The lake is beautiful, but it t can be a very dangerous place as well. Thanks for all your shows, I haven’t listened to one I haven’t really enjoyed.
I love this podcast but has anyone else noticed that the narrator has started talking really fast the last couple shows? The stories in this podcast and really good.
His voice should be in everywhere! He really sends me to each story . I’m so glad I cam across this podcast .
Amazing podcast for those who love supernatural things! Also the host is amazing and really grasps your attention!
every night before bed i listen to this podcast and wake up dripping in sweat from these haunting stories, i often look over my shoulder feeling as if i’m being watched. beautifully narrated.
I love the story teller’s voice. Great presentation... I really enjoy listening.
I enjoy listening, and it was full of great stories. Recently went the Queen Mary and took a tour. The story of the man killing his wife and daughters did not happen on the Queen Mary but in Virginia. The husband went mad and did kill his family and than himself. The mother of the mans wife was on the Queen Mary at the time of their death. A message was sent to the Queen Mary to let the mother know of what happened but the captain did not give it to her until they got to their destination. To this day they feel that the spirts of the little girls went to there grandmother who was on the Queen Mary. But she was not in the room that was mentioned by you either. I like your stories but feel the facts should be better researched.
Great and creepy story telling. I love the readers voice.
I love spooky stories and this show might be my favorite of all time. This show opened the door to all the Parcast shows for me. Wonderful story tellers.
Been meaning to write this for a while. This is my new favorite show. The writing is excellent, the subjects are fascinating and the narration and production quality are top notch. Always makes me do follow up to get more information. Kept up the good work. Don’t change a thing, please.
I love listening to this Podcast!!! Super creepy and entertaining!
This is one of my favorite podcasts! The writing and storytelling is great! I love listening to Greg’s voice!
I just listened to killed in their beds,😳 excellent show guys. Keep up the great work.
This is the only podcast I will ever listen to! The descriptions of each story from different perspectives is addicting to listen to!
Love this podcast
It brings chills to my spine 🌬🦴
My favorite podcast has been removed.
Just like the rest of these parcast related things, they’re riddled with the same boring advertisements and the stories are full of in accurate information.
A true mix of history and mystery thriller
Wish this was more in depth with a little more facts and a little less dramatization, but I’ll take a spooky podcast any day. thanks for the great quality! edit: almost a year later this hasnt gotten any better. If anything, the stories are becoming less and less believable-- I know its all ghost stories, but imagine how terrible the dramatizations have to be to lose credibility when it comes to HAUNTINGS
I like the stories, but it’s a “Parcast” podcast so they have to go and ruin the vibe by putting ridiculous ads in the middle of what would otherwise be a very atmospheric podcast. Save them for the beginning and the end parcast. Seriously. I also really hate how they try to act like these are true stories from real places. I’m all for “true” ghost stories, but these are a bit much and obviously not true.
Yes I know, I’m behind the times. Recently started listening to Podcasts and I absolutely LOVE everything Parcast has! I listen to many of the different topics and subscribe to many. ❤️❤️
If they have awards for podcast storytelling, this one would win hands down! Awesome!
The best bed time stories for adults.
This guy REALLY knows how to carry a story!! I feel like I’m right there. Love this podcast
I love this podcast! It’s nice a creepy with a good, smooth voice to narrate. I very much enjoy listening just before bedtime.
Story telling is amazing. This is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. I love getting hear about the history and the hauntings of haunting places!
I listen to the stories while on the treadmill. It beats the same old music I used to listen to.
I enjoy the style of storytelling and the visual created with these stories. I find myself anxious for Thursday’s so I can listen to the next episode! Keep them coming!
Love the way you make the history feel like a campfire story, draw the listener in. Cheers!
The stories are great. The narrator’s cadence leaves much to be desired. Listening to the narrator is often painful to the ear. Find a new narrator!
If you listen and watch as many ghost and paranormal shows as me, most of these places are familiar. What makes this podcast a welcome listen is the way they are rolled out. There is brief history and then a story in first person, to get you visualizing the scares personally. Ohio State Penitentiary was really written. Enjoyed the story of Lockhart a great deal.
I like your podcasts but it would be great to here someone other then you two over and over...
Me and my boyfriend always listen to your podcasts! We stayed at the Myrtles Plantation previously and were hoping maybe you could do a story on it!
I wish they had these every week like they used to... I love ghost shows and this is a way to still get that content without “screen time” at night. Hosts voice is very soothing plus I love a new perspective on places that ghost shows have gone! (Ghost Adventures, Ghost Brothers, etc.) Honestly, last month I got a subscription to Stitcher just so I could listen to all the episodes which I’ve now listened to all of them twice over. The only other podcast I listen to is My Favorite Murder. So please add more episodes in 2019!!! Your fans would really appreciate it!
Well written & interesting; it also provides a whole new perspective on some stories. The narrator also has a calm voice, which is a nice touch.
The reading voice of the host is waaaaay too cheezy. It's like he's reading a bedtime story to a 4 yr old. I tried to get past it, but I can't.
I love this podcast! Each episode is like a walkthrough story. I feel like I’m there at the haunted place and it’s very eerie! Love it!
The narrator does a beautiful job at describing the characters, places and emotions, you can really sumerge in the story as if you were there next to the characters! One of my favorite podcast to listen anytime I’m driving.
Storytelling and production
5 stars. Awesome stories and very dynamic.
He recommends “creepy,” by far one of the worst podcasts in this genre out there. To be fair though this shows’ production is excellent, but his story telling is pretty horrendous.
Superbly narrated. No obnoxious host, just stories and history!
Just need it to be louder, it seems quieter than other shows.
Love the host’s voice and fun, spooky take on the stories. Always look forward to listening to this show.
I love paranormal shows regardless of format. This show unfortunately didn’t hook me. I prefer to hear the person’s or family’s story, and preferably retold by them for accuracy and validity. If a show host reads their story instead, it’s much less appealing to me and much more monotonous and seems to drone on forever and loses me. And if it’s just a narrator retelling a ghost story, I blank out quickly. This show was the latter two of those three.
I love this podcast! It’s spooky and cool story telling. Very informative about the history of each site also.
The production quality is phenomenal; I love the narrators voice. I am sucked into the creepiest tales. I hope my podcast one day is half as good as this one.
So good. I fall asleep to this every Thursday!
I am addicted to this podcast! I love the theatrical reading and background sounds. The writing is exquisite! Fantastic!
Everything from your voice, the places and the set up of the stories is awesome. One of my favorite shows. Parcast is awesome!
I just become a patron my two favorite episode so far or the moss beach distillery and the myrtles plantation keep them coming ❤️❤️❤️I very much enjoy the podcast very entertaining and creepy and
I love stories about haunted places. Some of the stories so have been places that I am familiar with and it was nice to hear more on those that I am fascinated with. Definitely worth a listen especially if you plan to visit any of these places.
I started listening to this parcast and LOVE IT! Great job and I like Greg's voice!!! I've been binge listening to all of the shows and look forward for the latest release. Keep up the awesome work!!!
We enjoy haunted places. Great storytelling! We always make sure have several episodes downloaded for any our road trips.
I absoutely love this podcast, not only for the stories, but for Greg as well! I love his voice! It really draws you in and keeps you there, and makes everything really scary!
This has become one of my favorite scary podcasts. I love history and learning about the various haunted sites around the world. This has it all. The narrator is fabulous and the background noise adds to the creepiness of the story. It’s worth a listen.
I like the premise but don’t care for the produced delivery. An announcer whose wavers on over trying and sound effects don’t add anything. A straight forward approach, with factual history would rectify the situation.
My wife and I love to listen to these stories at night when we are relaxed and about to fall asleep. The podcast is soothing, yet fascinating. We usually fall asleep to the podcast, but pick up the next night where we left off.
I never know what to expect with these stories but I know they do provide me with entertainment while I commute to and from Nashville. I would love to hear stories from and around my home state of Alabama. Please don’t change what you are doing, it’s working well!!! V/R Pierre
I have heard a lot of these stories but definitely not this way. I love the tone and the realistic imagination behind these episodes!!!!
Unlike Parcast’s other series, this show really grabs my attention. I love the fun story telling with a little folklore mixed in! So glad the host ditched the robotic and totally unnatural-sounding cohost from his other podcasts. Greg is definitely a more natural story teller. I only wish they’d feature more haunted places in the states!!
The tone of the narrator’s voice is enough for me to make shiver with sheer fear. That’s effective reading and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be scared.
Greg is a natural story teller, I love the sound effects and this is a great way to learn about paranormal events
I just finished up Astonishing Legends podcast about the Sallie House and the Haunted Places podcast is so far off from the events that happned. If you want to hear interviews from the actual Pickmans and the owner of the house, go listen to Astonishing Legends podcast on the subject. They did tons of research on Sallie House, in fact they went to the house this past summer. I couldn't even finish listenting to this episode becuase the first story they tell about the shard of glass and Tony wanting to kill is wife with it is false. That's not what happened. I like this podcast, just not this episode. Astonishing Legends is way better with facts, not just trying to tell a spooky story with a constand owl hooting loop in the background.
Super boring, like most other Parcast network shows. Nothing wrong, but nothing special.
Spooky tales based on history and folklore. As young as 12 could listen without worry although sexual themes sometimes pop up the gore is toned down. Great sound quality.
Eh. Production value seemed good. The story/narrator though couldn’t get into.
Interesting history, but I wish there was a clearer delineation between the host’s freewheeling imaginative/fictional narratives and researched and fact checked segments. I think I’m missing a more objective approach, like Glenn Washington’s Spooked. This host just seems to take a lot of liberties and it’s unclear what is meant to be pure fiction and what’s journalistic or anecdotal.
Always great storytelling!
I really like the content and find it very interesting but I cannot stand when he starts whispering. I usually listen to podcast while commuting and I have to constantly turn the volume up or down because of his whispering. His voice is great for this content but please stop whispering! This is the only podcast I have this issue with.
Ever since I found this podcast I find myself listening every night. I am a truck driver and love listening to these stories!
I like this podcast just not all episodes. Very few I didn’t find as interesting as the others have been but some of the stories were a bit scary and very entertaining.
I really tried to listen to more than two episodes but it’s just too boring. The stories are not exciting and the monotoned host makes it worst.
Such great horror stories! Love the way the narrator goes with the horror theme in the tone of his voice. Listening to this podcast really helps me get through my work day.
Best podcast ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
I work in a deli, I listen to music while I cook. But ever since I downloaded this podcast I’ve been hooked. Love your voice!!!
I was looking for a description and discussion of haunted places. He finds a place purported to be haunted and then makes up a ficticious story about the place. If that's all you're looking for you may like it, but if you're looking for actual discussion of haunted places this isn't what you want.
I have been following this podcast for a little while and can wholeheartedly say that this is the best horror-oriented podcast out there period. I recommend it to all those who enjoy scary stories.
I would’ve given all of the parcast series 5 stars as I’m a huge fan. I hate to be petty buuuuut Leap Castle is pronounced ‘Lep’. :) that’s my only issue!!
Mr. Polcyn’s voice is at once, silky smooth and then scary AF. I can’t think of a better storyteller suited to tales of the macabre. The little girls at Leap Castle? Thanks, nightmares for weeks. You’re getting me through truly scary times with this fabulous series, much loved!
Can't get enough of Haunted Places.
I absolutely love this podcast! The narrator has the best voice and storytelling ability. This is podcast is a must!
I LOVE ghost stories, and was so excited to find this podcast! The stories are great, very spooky, and very entertaining. I took one star off because of the soundtrack in the background. Throughout the entire podcast, you can hear crickets chirping and the occasional owl hooting, as though you were sitting in the woods in the middle of the night, listenting to someone tell you ghost stories. Very spooky, right? Except, there are many stories in which the narrator aims to make you feel as though you are in a particular setting that is most definitely not the middle of the woods, but the woodsy soundtrack still plays in the background (along with any other sound effects they lay on top). For example, I was just listening to the Queen Mary episode, and the host was telling a story of a sailor who was standing on the ship's deck, looking out over the ocean. Suddenly, an owl hooted in the background. Wait, WHY IS THERE AN OWL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC? Can't they just take out the forest sounds while telling stories that don't take place in a forest? It's super distracting and detracts from the stories.
This is the best podcast I have found for paranormal stories! Kudos to the narrator and writer!
Good sound effects and the reader’s voice is pleasing. The stories are of uneven interest, but I’m not too picky. However, it really chaps my hide to hear podcasters shamelessly beg for five-star reviews: it’s becoming the new default for anything even passable, rendering the concept meaningless. So what am I doing here?
I LOVE this PODCAST! It’s my favorite and I look forward to new episodes every week! Keep up the great work!
So fun to listen to. The sound effects make it that much better. Love it 😁😁😁
I love this podcast, but why so many owl hooting..this is my main problem with the podcast...the owl hooting.
I’ve listened to Haunted Places since the first episode. I would like have a little more history presented in the podcasts. If you listened to the Marie Laveau episode, they went into detail about who she was and what she did. As more episodes have come out, I feel like they’ve turned more into ghost stories where they’re trying to put the listener into the story. If that’s what they’re going for, they’re doing a good job. I would just like more of a historical story.
When this podcast first started it was amazing one of my favorites. But now they are less telling you why this place is haunted and what happens there in present day to make it haunted, and more just stories trying to imagine you there in a creepy place. I want more real life experiences, not stories!!
This podcast is one of my favorites. I enjoy the storytelling style. It’s fun to learn some of the darker histories of places throughout the world. Good quality in production as well. My only complaint, the ‘owl’ sound effect is a little overused. Thanks for the hard work!
While not the best podcast to fall asleep to, I absolutely love it. The well researched stories and sound effects create a really spooky experience for the listener.
History and spookiness well told. The storyteller is excellent!
So many of these stories are so distorted from actual fact, that they can’t even be considered factual. So twisted.
Focusing entirely on haunted or otherwise supernatural locations, Haunted Places is a refreshing take on the genre with great story telling and including you as the listener into the story. Love it.
I love the way he tells his stories, the delivery he gives is phenomenal, giving chills. These are great for long car rides!
This is one of my absolute favorite podcasts, period. I love learning about haunted places, and this is so much better than some podcasts I’ve heard. The way the locations are described is so detailed along with the way the story is told, making you practically feel like you’re there. The best part about the podcast for me though, is Greg’s voice and cadence. You could not get a better host for a podcast like this than him. It’s the perfect cross between spooky and friendly and adds so much to the story in itself. I often recommend this podcast to friends who want some scarier podcasts, and now that Halloween is rolling around, Ive been sharing it more and more with people.
I really do LOVE this show but I’m a new listener and the episode I was on was stopped abruptly only for me to find I have to subscribe to something I can’t afford to hear all of the archived episodes now. :(
Haunted Places gives me the heebie jeebies!!! Highly recommend! 👻
First time listener. Love the stories. Love the voice. No bad words. Great podcasts!!!!!
The narrator of this series is amazing. The perfect voice for scary stories. That said, the quality of the podcasts has fallen off a bit for me. The early shows included ghost stories and then went on to more historically-based accounts of the location. Lately they have relied more on just the stories, and many of them are what I call “impossible” stories — stories where there is only one living person who experiences the ghostly event, and they die at the end of the tale, meaning there is no one alive to actually tell what happened. The stories can still be entertaining but it’s sloppy not to leave some out so that the story can be passed on.
First time listener. Loved the narration. Extremely well written and most of all, wonderful voice. No bad words. Going to dive head first into listening to all the episodes. Thank you for all your hard work in producing these and for sharing your talents with your appreciative public.
I love this podcast! Keeps me on the edge of my seat when driving home late from work! Listen to it all the time! Glad I found you!
Love parcast podcasts!! Im addicted! The structure is fabulous and I live the music in the background that signals breaks and what not. Although i really dont like horror movies and dont believe in ghosts, I find this podcast super fascinating and I just love the stories behind the legends. It occasionally gives me the creepy crawlies if im listening to this podcast at night or alone!
I love this podcast! The narration tempo is ideal and I love how each episode can take place at any place across the globe. I enjoy learning the history of each location alongside the urban legends.
Love the way he tells the stories. Enough detail but not enough to bore you. Great when you need a good scare. Keep em coming
The story telling alone is stunning alone then the addition of music and effects is great. This is a fun podcasts for late nights and fires. Great job and keep up this quality. One thing I think this podcast has which many other shows lack is the ability to set the tone and surroundings. Greg is a great host and hooks you
Wow... I LOVE this podcast... it got me addicted and now I’ve got to wait each week for new episodes- episodes I NEVER miss! Listen to the ads too and the recommendations for other podcasts because at least with the recommendations, they’ve been spot on!!
“Until this day ... it’s haunted “ I love how he says that!! And how he tells the stories, I’m like always listening, I wish an episode came out everyday, hahaha! (: You won’t be disappointed.
Excellent podcast, great storytelling and sound effects.
Boring and overwrought. Not recommended. If you’re looking for a good podcast about hauntings, I suggest Mike Brown’s Pleasing Terrors.
Always here for a good good scary story!
This used to be a good podcast until they got away from the true stories and history of places and started writing arbitrary ghost stories to fill time. Intro should say “made up stories about places that are supposed to be haunted”.
Interesting podcast and can’t get enough of the narrator’s voice ❤️❤️❤️
One of the most professional and well done podcasts on paranormal stories. We really enjoy it, and recommended for those who have strong hearts to listen to stories of this kind
Just one suggestion; some new background noises other than the owl and crickets or none would be good. (Maybe dire-sounding music.) The techno wind is bizarre. Come on Greg get rid of the owl noise. The last episode you had it in the bathroom. Max and Ron that’s ridiculous.
Each episode is so interesting! I’ve learned so much! It’s very very good audio quality as well. Would definitely recommend
The story telling is phenomenal and the sound affects are fantastic. I really enjoy this Podcast.
Research McKamey Manor
Really scary. It’s got the scary elements I sometimes wish Lore had
Always get excited when I see a new episode pop up. Great podcast and narration. Keep up the good work!
This is my absolute favorite podcast. Greg is engaging and keeps me listening intently until he says goodbye. I am so impressed with Parcast, thank you for making such a great slice of heaven that I can enjoy every Thursday!
The story telling is amazing and truly brings you in!!
This is a wonderful scary pod cast
Awesome podcast that’s smooth listening
This is one of my favorite podcasts and is a go-to when I’m flying. Greg’s voice is so soothing and the sound effects are a nice cherry on top.
Overblown and cheesy, from the story content to the production quality, and not even remotely creepy. Try “Spooked” by Snap Judgement if you are looking for quality.
We love Haunted Places. It’s so interesting and spooky. The narration and content are excellent. My family and I listen in the car and it makes the drive go by so quickly. We look forward to it every week! Keep the good stuff coming please!
I love listening to this while I am getting ready for bed -- it is spooky but somehow soothing. I love the history!!!
The stories are good, but the person telling the story make them even better! I’ve listened to all of them and now have my children enjoying some of the stories as well. I love this podcast!
Sound effects just add an extra element to these stories about real haunted places. I could listen for hours
I enjoy the history of the locations and the factual haunting tales. I don’t particularly enjoy the fabricated stories of what could be or what is just fun fiction.
I really, really tried to like this podcast, since it’s about ‘real, haunted places.’ HOWEVER, I take major issue with the first person stories of someone who’s about to die, be murdered, etc. in that haunted place. That’s taking way too much artistic license for me. Also, the narrators voice is so over the top. I often found myself going, ‘DUN, DUN, DUN!’ as I was listening just because the buildup was so cheesy. Overall, not for me.
Well crafted stories, eerie storytelling, carefully selected sound effects. Just brilliant.
Really fun, riveting and a really good podcast to drift into during a long shift or drive. Great story telling and attention to detail.
As the podcast matures it’s spending more time on gore and gruesomeness instead of thrills and chills.
This guy is so scary he made me feel like I was in the Cecile hotel
Great voice and storytelling. I love it!
I enjoyed this at first because of the historical insights and accounts of what people have experienced. That was a first impression. The show has turned out to be a lot more melodramatic and hokey, relying heavily on adding gory gruesome flair and fabricated scenarios that go way beyond what you'd expect in a true haunted place. I'll be unsubscribing.
I’m a home health nurse who is often in the car, love listening to this podcast on my runs or in my car on my way to my next patient, I’ve been to the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, and hope to make it to some of the other places that have been visited by the podcast, a great listen also while trying to fall asleep, I’m a nurse, I don’t get scared easily:)
I love your stories they’re very inspirational for what I’m working on, and open my mind to the supernatural. I really appreciate you guys!! Gratitude, From Skratch
I love this new podcast!!! Greg your voice is very pleasant and I loved you from Serial killers and I was so excited when I found about this new show you have!!! Your stories are so thrilling and gives me chills every time I listen!!! Love love your stuff!!!
You do a great job with the narrations, and I’m really impressed with all the historical research you do on the locations. I love the spooky real life details! However, I prefer the early episodes to the more recent ones, where you convey the haunted legends and the historical details behind them. You’ve been doing a lot of dramatizations in the recent episodes, and that’s getting a little old. It suspends disbelief a little too much, like you playing the role of the supposedly possessed nun in the most recent episode. I definitely listen every week, but I hope you’ll rein in the fictional dramatizations a little bit and go back to relaying the legends and the historical details.
Just discovered podcast a few months ago and can’t get enough. I work alone all day so it’s so much fun to listen all day. Great story telling.
I really enjoy the topics covered but the weird semi-dramatization is off putting. The format of this podcast just isn’t for me.
As an actual paranormal investigator for over eight years now, I love hearing the history and backstory to some of the most haunted locations, most of which are on my Para-Bucket list! If you're into the paranormal or just like to hear a good creepy story, I highly recommend this podcast!!!
I love this podcast! The host’s voice is very soothing and the sound effects make the storytelling like a campfire tale! It’s a mix of history and ghost stories. I can’t wait until the next episode every week!
Love, love, love this podcast!
This is a seriously creepy podcast. The stories are so well told. It gets me through work and long flights. I’m so engaged by the story the whole time that it makes time go by much easier.
Love your podcast. 👍 . Keep it coming !!
Soooo good and terrifying in their story telling!
The only offensive thing that happened in this episode was when Greg tried to do a Scottish accent. Also where is the source material? This show used to be a lot better when they just focused on the actual haunting stories as opposed to making up retellings.
I’ve been listening to scary podcasts for a year now and never left a rating or review because I never cared enough if a show kept making more episodes or succeeded. But I love this, I can’t get enough, and I hope to God I can forever continue having a new episode to savor each week.
I love you so much~! Each episode is so riveting, I can't wait for the next episode
Love it! Very campy!
This is definitely the most informed and well-written podcast involving ghosts and haunting. The voice acting is a little much sometimes, but it’s not enough of an issue to stop me from listening! It’s worth it for the good content.
But it really helps their show. Good storytelling and detailed history about haunted places.
If you like ghost stories, this podcast is for you. The narrator mixes historical facts with stories and legends. The way he tells certain accounts from a first person point of view is engaging and sometimes can make you a little squirmy (I’m talking about you, girl who was buried alive). I’m enjoying listening!!
Spooky history is my favorite :) really enjoying the podcast!
If you like scary, haunted ghost stories and/or watch paranormal shows you will love this podcast about REAL haunted places!
Super informative and it will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up! Worth a listen
Haunted Places is narrated by a genius. I love the way he talks and the inflection in his voice is spot on. I am always on the edge of my seat. Keep them coming, I’m hooked.
Some of these stories were so scary I could only listen with one headphone. So much fun!
Podcast quality and stories are great! Not a fan of the demonic possession ones purely based on preference, but the rest are on point!
From content, to sound effects, to the voiceover, this podcast is great! It really brings you into a full story experience.
I get it’s a haunted places podcast and everything can not be proven but how did you get an account of someone story who gets beheaded by a truck?
Love this podcast! Also I love parcast!
batman tells ghost stories
The research and production is top notch. My only real complaint is they split almost all topics into two episodes. I often wait to listen till both episodes are out.
I was hoping to learn some new and interesting haunted places... but it seems like they make up the stories that frame most of these places (telling it from first person?) and every week they have the same owl, gasping, and screaming sound effects. Seriously the same sound effect multiple times per episode and every episode. I can’t take it anymore. Unsubscribing.
I am super over 99% of this network’s podcasts but this one is gold! Love it!!!
Your intros just draw me in, like their is no way to stop now. This is the best!
10 minutes of ads, 5 minutes of actual content, 5 more minutes of promotion...straight up hard work to get through a single episode.
I love the show! The story telling is amazing! Greg’s voice had me when he was on an episode of Unsolved Murders. The only negative I can say, is that awful owl sound effect. Please, make it stop! Outside of that, LOVE THIS PODCAST!
I love the narrative of this podcast. Its great story telling and will give you the creeps.
I love the stories, I love how the information is presented, and the sound effects are awesome. This podcast is incredible and all of the topics are very very interesting.
I love that they cover locations around the world, and not always we’ll know. Well composed and interesting. I look forward to each new one. However, the dramatizations are rather cheesy and unnecessary. I’m just here for the history and legends.
Amazing story telling very detailed feels as though you are really there
The story telling is great, but there needs to be more history behind the stories. There seems to be just ghost stories and almost no history in to the place your talking about to explain WHY the ghost stories are there in the first place.
I listen to Haunted Places on my drives home in the middle of the night. What a perfect romp filled with paranoia and fear. Excellent job with this podcast, 10/10 scared throroughly.
My new favorite podcast. Wish new episodes came out more than once a week!
The way the stories are told in the podcast make you feel like you are physically there. This is hands down my favorite podcast to listen to!
Awesome stories that are very well done. Not too long and not too short. Just right
I was turned on to this podcast from a facebook group I am in for another podcast LOL. I absoloutely love the story telling and the reader and how detailed the stories and histories are!! I think you guys do a great job and I am totally addicted to your podcast!! I am so happy I found it and keep up the good work!
As I went scrolling through all of the Parcast shows available, I realized something... I’m subscribed to all of them already! I think these are hand down some of the best written, told and produced podcasts that I’ve ever listened too. I have not yet been disappointed besides when I finish all the episodes available to me. Keep up the good work there at Parcast. I know that I will be eagerly waiting for new material in the future!
Love this podcast!
The stories are awesome yet scary could you please do an episode on the house of wills next!!!
I’d gone through probably 4-6 different podcast before finding this one and thank goodness I did, all the other ones seemed to be to short or poorly told and voices didn’t match the stories what so ever and completely took you out of the “scary experience” I recommend this podcast and their other podcasts done under the same producer. They don’t disappoint at all.
I can never wait for Thursday to hear the next story! I love listening to the creepy stories and the wonderful story telling! LOVE LOVE LOVE
I love this podcast. The voice is perfect for bringing the stories to life. I listen to many podcasts as I multitask around the housr and this is the only podcast that captures and keeps my attention. I'm addicted and I need more!
The storytelling and the stories woven by Greg are amazingly spooky and highly intriguing! Love this show!!! The only problem is that i'm addicted and can't stop listening!!!
I really expected to hear true tales, but it's more like, "this place is haunted, and here are totally made-up stories about things that could have happened here." I'd rather it either talk about true encounters or be more up front about being fictionalized narratives.
If you are irritated by poorly done paranormal podcasts where the host(s) yammer about what they had for dinner in between poor readings from Wikipedia, broken up by annoyingly incongruous heavy metal guitar riffs, then this podcast will be a HUGE relief. Good spooky history, well-researched and written with a great host accompanied by nice sound effects. One of the best, if not THE best of the genre. Love it!
I like the narrator but don’t understand why they don’t go over the facts as opposed to recounting made up stories about things that could possibly have happened. Ex: instead of talking about what happened to Elisa lam they talk about a what if scenario regarding a nameless person that checked into the Cecil hotel after she died. If you’re like me and just want the facts and details this is not for you.
Im planning my vacations according to these haunted places from now on
I have so enjoyed coming across this podcast! The mix of facts and storytelling creates a fantastic pace. Production is professional, and the narrator is excellent!
I wanted to like this podcast so much. I love haunted stories. However, this podcast is more of an acting vehicle than telling tales about haunted places. Sometimes the stories are only very loosely based on the location.
I love this podcast it make work fly by and it is very interesting.
The host is hypnotizingly magnetic as he leads you into stories so masterfully told, your mind can see every horrific detail! Both sound effects and great engineering nicely complement his storytelling, too. Let the subtle, terrifying dramas just melt into your mind...
Good podcasts, but too much cross pollination advertising...was always looking forward to the next episode, but they were always advertising all their other 10-15 podcasts when they had nothing to do with that specific subject I wanted to hear. I had to get out. Frustrating.
I subscribe to your podcast not gone! I find this annoying and upsetting that you play other podcast! Please stop doing this.
I enjoyed this at first, but now the stories just seem totally fabricated without any bases. There's nothing to really explain how these places are haunted- real incidents, etc. This would be fine if the podcast put itself out there as simply a ghost story podcast, but they say these places are "really" haunted- so give us something real to go on.
Ok so the stories are good. The atmosphere is good. The narrator is a little dramatic. He could chill out a bit but I get it, he’s having a good time. I would be too. The biggest thing I’ve noticed with this one is that when I listen to it at work the cold spots at the store move??? Supposedly the store I work at is haunted because it used to be a morgue and the ghosts are friendly but I’m not sure they like this one. Or maybe they really do. So minus one for melodrama and annoying the ghosts. Edit: been another few weeks and I’m back- took of another star for overuse of sound effects (Not the atmospheric ones, the “scary” ghost sounds.) They’re REALLY IRRITATING at this point. They keep dragging me out of the action and have started triggering automatic eye rolls which is very bad for listening in public. Let it go guys. Also for the weird way that they do commercials on this podcast for other network podcasts. “MY FRIEND ....’S PODCAST” - no. I don’t believe you’re friends. You’re trying too hard. I have other issues with the way they advertise their own shows but that’s not this podcasts fault.
I cannot stop listening to this show and am so happy the decision to release weekly was made. I look forward to listening every week! Keep up the fantastic writing and interesting stories, it’s refreshing and addicting.
It has earned a place in my podcast line up. Never miss an episode
It has zero factual merit, which is a shame bc the locations are historical and would be interesting to learn more about. The narrator’s voice is grating and he “over acts” IMO.
Story telling gets super annoying.
Well researched, comprehensive, good narrating. I could do without the theatrics though. The acting makes me cringe. And the sound effects? “I had coffee that morning *slurping sound effect*” Sometimes they’re just ridiculous 😳
I’m hooked. Love the spine tingling stories.
Started out excellent, however the scripts became more and more cringeworthy.
I can’t listen to this family of podcasts anymore because they’re starting to overlap each other too much. They’ll cover the same thing or promote each other to the point I have several “Introducing” podcasts in my queue but nothing new from the cast I wanted to listen to...It also annoys me that they ask you to leave a 5 star review. Asking for a review is one thing but none of these is a 5 Star podcast. Bit presumptuous.
Corny. And not scary at all.
I look forward every week to this podcast! The storytelling by Greg is amazing and keep me listening to Every minute
These stories make you feel like you are right beside these people experiencing these events. Don’t listen to this in the dark!
All Parcast podcasts have excellent production and this one is no exception. The audio is top quality. This is a fascinating show filled with real-life mysterious places. As a rule, I love true crime podcasts and the descriptions of these “Haunted Places” fit right in. As a personal preference only, I would turn down the drama just a notch or two; It’s just a little over-the-top for me. Congrats on another great program!
This podcast is amazing! It’s like you’re there! Greg telling you a scary story around a campfire or on a haunted trail! The extra noises just makes it even more creepy! I wouldn’t listen to it at night though if you are faint at heart! Otherwise it’s a great, spooky podcast! Would HIGHLY recommend!!
The storytelling is captivating and very well-presented...loving this podcast!
This podcast is wonderful! Not only with finely-tuned audio effects, but a paralleled historical plot and just the right amount of spooky! If you’ve got a thing for ghostly tales, this is your podcast.
Haunted Places is one of my new favorite podcasts! The episodes on La Recoleta & the Bennington County Courthoise had me glancing over my shoulder...now I can indulge weekly in this wonderful podcast!
The other Parcast shows I’ve been checking out are in-depth and informative. This one is anything but. The narrator is so overly theatrical that it’s cringeworthy, especially on top of the Halloweeny sound effects/music. The stories are crazy sensationalized, and the writing makes a lot of assumptions. If you take out all the cliche phrases and overly colorful descriptions, it’s basically the skimming of a Wikipedia article, except even more shallow. I gave a solid effort but couldn’t stop rolling my eyes every 10 seconds.
Has the ability to give me goosebumps in clear daylight on my way into work, stuck in traffic. Greg has a voice that will make you hang on to each and every word. I can’t get enough of the episodes.
Great Show that has a new episode on Every Week instead of being on biweekly. Great job keeping up the production value on all these episodes. It’s my Number 1 Podcast👻
Great podcast! Great quality and superb storytelling. I love the wide range of haunted locations around the world.
This is simplly a high-gloss regurgitation of basic info with no depth whatsoever. The narrator sounds like he's selling Buicks which is great for 60 seconds. I couldn't listening much longer than that.
YES! What a voice! Amazingly creepy stories! Always checking to make sure I didn’t miss an episode. Don’t miss out on this one!
This is one of my favorite podcasts! I creating a traveling bucket list based off of these episodes!
The past few episodes of this have been boring and strange
If you love the Haunted and Paranormal podcasts, then this one is definitely one for the top of your podcast feeds. I love listening to these and researching them as they dive into the stories and can hardly wait to hear them. You won't be disappointed.
Very interesting stories! My only complaint is the male host tries to do the female voices and it’s not very pretty. Hopefully he could get a girlfriend to help out in the future. Great voice otherwise and the tales are captivating!
The information and the storytelling are done in an intriguing and captivating way. Keeps you wanting more. Makes learning history even more fun
Love it!! Greg does an awesome job at story telling!
I am so glad this is now a weekly podcast. I look forward to the Thursday’s in which a new episode airs. Great storytelling enhanced by the narrators voice and background sounds.
I discovered Haunted Places last November and have been listening ever since. The way these true stories are written and narrated makes you feel like you are there, experiencing the events yourself. If you like ghost stories based on truth, this will be for you.
I can’t wait for every other Thursday to come around...scared & excited I listen at work!! It’s my favorite
I heard about the Weston Hospital in Virginia... maybe you could look into that? I’d love to hear about it.
I love getting the real history of these places.
I love Haunted Places. I hear this podcast while I'm working and it amaze and scare me every time I listen the podcast. I hope you continue with more haunted places.
Approach this podcast from a “spooky PG-rated story” perspective, not a “detailed analysis and encyclopedic info” perspective. Would recommend for families/people who like “spooky campfire stories”.
Was it the Ghost Adventures Crew who talked to you guys about Poveglia Island??? I’d seen the episode a while ago and watched it again after listening to that episode. Experiences sound the same. Love this podcast!!! Such great narration. Love how you bring the characters to life!
This is clearly Parcast's BEST PODCAST! My only request was that it would become a weekly podcast. THANK YOU, Parcast for making this brilliant engrossing show a weekly EVENT!! I can't wait for Thursdays!!
I just discovered this podcast. I love the subject matter, and as a huge fan of ghost stories they've covered a lot of hauntings I didn't know about. That said, the dramatizations are over the top, and if you use the phrase "...or did they?" again I'm going to scream. And the sound so so hard to listen to. I don't like to hear the saliva in the back of your throat rumbling and snapping. Please dude, turn it down, I might have to stop listening because it's driving me up a wall.
Great voice and the best storytelling !! Thanks for going once a week !! That made my Friday!!!
I love all things paranormal and I love the flow of the storytelling! Will there be one for the Suicide Forest in Japan? Just a suggestion 🙂
I love this podcast!! The stories are great and very interesting and scary. I am thrilled that this will be a weekly show.
You know those voices trained to present media news, with timed rises and falls? That's what the presenter has. Every story sounds like it belongs on the news ---- in a bad way. Too bad. This may be a Parcast trait, as the same is true in feminine form for its sister show about Fairy Tales. Very disappointing.
If you remember sitting around a campfire as a kid with your family/scout troop telling spooky stories, you’ll love this podcast. Creepy sound effects make it even better than a campfire tale!
This is one of my FAVORITE podcasts. It is high quality and the stories are so interesting!
Can I leave less than a star? Because I’d like to. Actual quote, “but a woman died here!” Like ok we got that from you saying she jumped out the window to her death. This guy is way to dramatic and all the crap in the background is distracting and cheesy. Don’t waste your time. If you want to hear the creepy story and be entertained at the same time, go listen to And That’s Why We Drink.
The sound effects and the narration make this podcast so compelling. It’s so creepy and told in a thrilling style.
Classic ghost stories are the best kind, classic telling around a campfire- just right!
I get creeped out, and that’s pretty hard! So happy to have access to another podcast that scares me! Love the sound effects and the narrator’s voice is awesome! Keep it up!
I subscribe to all of the parcast podcasts. The reenactments are what I like the most about the podcasts. It is more fun for me when you hear actors act the story as opposed to a host telling the story. It’s more dramatic... like an old time radio show. The hosts are great too. They help tie the story together and explain the topic in more detail. The podcasts are entertaining & suspenseful, but sometimes disturbing. I don’t recommend some stories for younger listeners or those that are sensitive. Highly recommend!
I look forward to this podcast every week, regardless of it only having biweekly episodes. Really intriguing and the scripting is amazing!!! Really paints a picture!! Now I can only hope this has weekly episodes
I really enjoy this spooky podcast. The storytelling is wonderful.
Excellent production. Scary and entertaining at the same time.
Greg is such a great storyteller (and he has outstanding writers), that these are creepy stories without being cheesy. If you want to feel a little tingle in your spine, give these stories a try!
I was searching through the podcast directory for ghost and hauntings and found “Haunted Places”. This is high quality storytelling and I can’t wait for each Thursday to come around with the new episode! Greg Polson’s Voice is so captivating and entertaining that I find myself hanging on every word he speaks...even the advertisements! Keep up the good work!
I’m constantly on the lookout for creepy storytelling with good production value. This podcast has both. Sound effects are used well to add to the atmosphere without being a distraction. This is a great infusion of macabre history and fireside storytelling. Keep it up!
Perfect for anytime you’re in the mood for a chill or thrill
Parcast is fantastic at telling a good story. This is my third parcast podcast and is yet another fantastic one. My only advice? Don’t listen to this at night 😈
So good that I can't stop listening even though I get throughly freaked out literally every time. It's so well produced and researched and has just a touch of truly spooky camp. I love it
Me and my kids love listening to this podcast
I love his voice and the subtle sounds added for theatricality. Not overdone at all. Great, scary stories that you can connect with.
Well written and the narrator’s voice is fantastic! I binge-listened to all the available shows in 2 days. One of my new favorites
This show is the best of both worlds, thanks to the amazing production quality. Half scary story, complete with terrific sound effects and spooky writing, and half interesting, factual analysis of these places. Love it.
First podcast I ever listened too and it started an addiction. Great to listen to in the car at night.
Can’t get enough. I wanted to pace myself but instead I’ve heard five in a row. It’s just so good!
I love the history that’s tied in with the ghost stories. You know you have been told a great ghost story when you have to stop it a few times. -Tam
I love this show, the best out there!!
Great immersive storytelling. I really enjoy hearing about places I've never heard of before.
Good stories content, just told in a very dry scripted manor. Would be better if it were told in their own words and not read word for word.
Love how Greg paints the picture so perfectly with his narrative! Great podcast!
Greg has a phenomenal voice for telling stories. If you close your eyes, you can almost be there.
I’m an avid listener of all Parcast podcasts and absolutely love them all. Amazing story telling and sound quality, beautifully produced and just incredible story’s over all their shows, not only this one. Thank you for the amazing stories on a weekly basis, very much the best parts of my day.
If “scary” is your thing, you’ll love this podcast. No need to wait until October for bone-chilling fun. 👻💀👻
