I could listen to this group talk about anything
Mostly good but painfully improve class/smug liberal arts douche at times.
I unsubscribed and stopped listening a couple years ago, but every so often I’ll poke my head in these parts to find out if they did themselves of the reason I stopped listen, but nope, it’s still there. ...Please stop doing live shows and go back to studio recordings. PLEASE!!
Great podcast. Even episodes I have no idea what the movie is are must listen. Sure I could research & watch the movie before those particular podcast to understand more of the jokes and talking points, but
If you want to sit back and listen to D-list actors malign movies that they would’ve KILLED to be in, all while pandering to the PC safe space crowd, then this is the podcast for you!
I wanted to make this a funny amazon type second opinion review, but I just love it too much and worry about doing Second Opinion a disservice. This podcast is the shiiiiit. I love love love it. I have laughed out loud in so many random places, I may be committed soon. This podcast actually made me enjoy live shows- the sound quality is usually shut poor on other shows, but the interaction with the audience is so amazing. June, Paul, and Jason are so hilarious and have such good energy
I don’t usually write reviews, but the latest episode of Heavyweight (Scott) made me cry, in the best way. The storytelling and heart in these is astounding, with a touch of self deprecating humor that keeps it from being at all cheesy. I love this podcast.
What’s funnier than taking a 21st century, easily offended look at movies made 20 years ago? A lot. For every time they make you laugh, you’ll also roll your eyes as they pander to today’s audience or tell you how the movie is offensive to different peoples. They even read online reviews of the movies as part of their “material”. There are funnier podcasts and better movie podcasts out there. All are more original.
Love this podcast. Every episode is so UHHHmazing!
Love these. Now please please - give SLJ his due, and honor us all with Snakes on a Plane. Oh!! And also 27 Dresses. (Basically the same movie, right?)
You’ll love this podcast!
Can’t believe how freaking hilarious this show is. Has become my favorite podcast.
So funny! Love the dynamic of the hosts and love the special guests! Give it a listen.
Very funny. Helps if you’ve seen the movies they’re reviewing. I got one actually like listening to the live shows.
Been listening to this pod since the beginning so I’m keeping the 5 star rating. But the studio shows are 10 times better
This is the best podcast ever! I love Paul, June and Jason so much and think this show is endlessly entertaining. I’ve listened to every episode multiple times and have been to multiple live shows of theirs. HDTGM is the best!!
This podcast isn't just a podcast, it turns into a way of life. Non-stop entertaining and I can relisten and still laugh just as much as the first time. I hope it never ends.
When I started listened to podcasts there were 3 I listened to regularly: SModcast Comedy Bang Bang! How Did This Get Made 8 years later, guess which one I’m still listening to! Phenomenal work. Can’t wait to see a live show one day.
I discovered this show when looking for more Nicole Byer content one day. I have been giggling to this show ever since. I have gone to great lengths to listen to all the episodes available because it is well worth it. If you enjoy good humor about bad movies, listen to this immediately! If you love these hosts as well, look at their records and watch what they have been in. It is worth it. Give Jason the babies.
I don’t have time to listen to everything I want, and a lot of content I love gets set aside for long periods. But I’ve been with this one since the beginning, and it never falls behind. June, Paul, Jason, and the great guests have gifted me with so many bizarre and wonderfully awful movies I would not have encountered or visited otherwise. And occasionally you get a bizarre story from Paul’s childhood to everyone’s stunned silence. Perfection.
This podcast is how I start my weekend. It’s the best. Hilarious, insightful, perfect for anyone who loves to dissect movies and loves to laugh.
This used to be my favorite podcast, now it is terrible and the live shows are unbearable. The Drop Dead Fred episode was particularly painful. It is all literal screaming and yelling over one another. They go over the top to play to the audience, especially Jason. Take it down a notch broh! June used to be great but her politics, which I agree with for the most part, have overshadowed her performance. She can’t see anything funny through her ultra-sensitive political lenses. It is a shame! The early shows were so great. I don’t know who is writing all the 5 star reviews. Friends and family maybe? A bot? Because they seem fake and they are waaaay off base. The show quality is in a hard decline.
Paul asked me to write this review. I’ve only been listening for 6 or 7 years. Would listen again!
The perfect accompaniment to bad movie night
Love these guys it's always hilarious I literally have to stop myself from bursting out in laughter at work The only way this could be better is if they did every movie that came out I'd love to hear them pick apart superhero movies and comedies too
Only listen if you want to laugh so hard you throw your phone at the wall.
(With echo effect) All joking aside, this is the greatest, funniest, awesomest, most amazing podcast ever! Watch bad movies! Enjoy this podcast! Listen to the minisodes! Repeat! Also, go see them live if you get the chance!
This podcast makes my day! I just went and saw the movie Ad Astra and I seriously hope you guys consider doing an episode on that. Love you and keep it up!!!!
I’m new to the podcasting world. I tried this podcast based on a recommendation from Tessa Bailey, romance author. I have not been disappointed. I’ve been listening for about a month now and listen to almost every previous episode I can find. This podcast cracks me up every time! I highly recommend to any movie lover out there.
Love the pod cast
Leaving a review for the algorithm. Keep up the good podcasting.
The show used to be good, now it’s just nonsense, yelling, screaming and hateful June thinking she’s being snarky.
Read the title.
When I accidentally have too much time before work, I sit and listen to this podcast with a cup of coffee. it is bliss.
This show has not only changed how I watch movies and TV, but also made my life better.
So much wonderful practical advice! I always feel motivated after listening to this podcast, which is not an easy feat for me.
Been listening to HDTGM for years and each episode is better than the last. I’ve even traveled to Chicago and New York to see them live and they’re the best! Hands down my favorite podcast ever
This is easily my favorite podcast--and now I've seen so many movies I never would have voluntarily watched! Best podcast!
I absolutely love hdtgm!! I listen all the time. Please come to Denver soon!!!
June’s politics have ruined a once funny podcast about good bad movies.
Best podcast ever.
One of the funniest podcasts around till June started getting political. I care to laugh at bad movies, not get shamed for being a white man.
So much yelling. The girls screaming is so bad. Like an actual argument where louder was better. You never even explained the premise. The two "pro" people were so bad. I'll never listen again. So insane that they have microphones and still yell.
I love how this podcast involves participation! I make it a point to watch the movies the week before even though most of the movies are dreadful. Lol.
If you like people talking over each other this is for you
I love the show. Paul is funny but June is who always keeps me coming back for more.
An amazing podcast made even better by the lovely June Diane Raphael! Keep asking those questions girl
June does everything she can to make this podcast not funny. Thankfully Jason’s way too funny and transcends that stick in the mud. Paul is also there. June kills the funny at every single opportunity. She wasn’t cast as the “Nottie” because she couldn’t pull off hot after the makeover. Her patriarchy smog bit was a stupid and unnecessary interjection. Jason, if you read this, go solo. Quit carrying these latch-ons on your back.
You can’t get any better then this! You will laugh, you will cry, you will yell out of frustration. Give it a listen, it’s bonkers.
Much like handjobs from highschool this podcast is always a good time, and they also make a good album title. Growing up I watched all the movies, including the bad ones. I've continued that tradition throughout my life so I've seen a lot of the movies from the podcast already which also creates a similar feeling of nostalgia that thinking about handjobs from highschool would invoke. The utility of this podcast for me is its ability to make me feel like I'm in a conversation about movies, I for the most part like, while also drowning out the loud open mouth chewing my work neighbor produces throughout the day. In a way Handjobs From Highschool is just a euphemism for the nostalgia we all feel from thinking about those sweet yesteryears. So with that being said thank you all for the handjobs from highschool, five stars. P.p.s. Lookout for my album coming soon. #HandjobsFromHighschool
Would be great except the one male host is super annoying, interrupts, yells and talks over everyone. Please Stop dude.
I love this podcast so much! One little problem though.. Jason Mantzoukas.. He talks over everyone and yells way too much.. It would be the perfect podcast without him in it, the guy is in love with the sound of his own voice and no one’s opinion matters except for his, the narcissism just astounds me, get over yourself bro. Other than that, June and Paul keep doing what you do, love the podcast when you guys are talking and all the guests that you have on, I always skip forward when Jason starts talking though. Sorry not sorry.. 4 stars!!!
It’s a great podcast, quite funny and interesting to hear certain facts or info on a lot of these movies. I will say, Jason Mantzoukas is extremely annoying. I mean to the point where I wanted to turn it off. He isn’t funny, cannot stop interjecting and try to steal the show. He talks wayyy too much and drags out the most predictable jokes.. it kills any momentum the podcast has.
Consistently amazing. You don’t need to have seen the movies to have an amazing time. Years ago I started with movies I knew, but quickly subscribed and never miss an episode. The live show in Durham recently was awesome! Love Jason, June, and Tall!
I will be going to a live show and I am SO EXCITED!!!! One of my top three!
...but Paul Scheer’s ads kind of ruin the tone/mood. It’s just depressing to see someone whoring so hard for Heinz and Squarespace. Other podcasters don’t kneel for cash with this much conviction. I feel like I’m listening to BDSM play when Paul starts worshipping the sponsors. Dial it back, man!
Love the show, been listening for years. As a fan of the fast and furious movies, those episodes have been some of my favorites. However, as the quality of the fast and furious series inclines, the less it fits into the parameters of hdtgm, as I think it is pretty obvious how they get made. Therefore I’m suggesting a Hobbs and Shaw style spinoff with June Paul and Jason, along with Adam Scott and Nicole byer just focused on those movies. Keep up the good work
This is difficult to listen to. Everyone talking over each other. No thoughtful discussion. Everyone is just trying to get the laugh over each other.
If you like bad movies this show is the bees knees. It you like comedy - bees knees. If you like good things - knees. This show is what is up.
I only found this podcast a little over a month ago. Had a 4 hour drive ahead of me so turned it on. My face hurts from laughing so much, thank you!! This is amazing, I’m bummed I found it a few weeks shy of the Austin show. Will defiantly be watching future tour dates to try and catch a live show! Great podcast!!
Pure joy is how I feel when listening to this podcast. June is my spirit animal.
Folks give bad movies a lot of flack. June, Paul, and Jason appreciate ‘em if they’re whack. They think, “Top That? I can. That’s facts. But I don’t give a **** about trynna top that! Rotten tomatoes say ‘Splat!’ They must be on crack, cause this movie really smacks even if it never tracks, I’ll watch it snacks!” Beat this pod? Stop that. You’ll never top that!
I love this podcast. Listen to every episode. Never been so moved to review until today. I just finished listening to the episode of Drop Dead Fred and no joke I pulled off the highway to leave this review. It was hands down the most fun I have ever had while listening to a podcast! TEAM FRED ALL DAY!!!!
This podcast is the so hilarious. I stumbled on it a while back and was thrilled to find that I had almost 7 years of episodes I could binge. Every single episode has me laughing out loud at some point.
This shows legit funny af. would definitely recommend to anybody who's a fan of comedy. ill straight watch episodes about movies i haven't seen and its still super enjoyable just due to their hilarious takes on the scenes that they do a great job of describing for you. "FivE StArS!"
That they have prequels to Episode #s, but they don’t seem to actually number their episodes.
I’ll hold the mike
The wait between releases is grueling.
I’m so glad I found this podcast! It’s hilarious and I need to rewatch the movies before listening to the next one.
Terrific podcast but something’s got to be done about these advertisement transitions. The “how did this get made?!” Right before the ads start is FAR too loud and comes out of nowhere. BUSH LEAGUE MOVE, BRO!
I look forward to every episode!
All the way, every day, forever and always!
What can I say, I get both sides.
I’ve listened since day one. And the show gets better and better. I laugh so hard every single week. June, Paul and Jason... thank you so much!
I have listened to this podcast for years, it has always been at or close to five star entertainment. This is the first time I’ve been compelled to write a review #TeamFred.
I loose my mind when I listen to John, Jason and June. I get so into this podcast.
Extraordinarily observant folks poke both fun and holes in the plot. I appreciate the quick wit, but feel like the gentlemen are a bit heavy-handed with the rape “jokes.” June Diane Raphael’s more nuanced humor and keen eye for relevant exchanges and connections between the characters keep me coming back for more!
Wait....are you ok??!
[Stands on a table and points, upward, in response.] GEOSTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORM!!!!
My Second opinion is also five so
I had to stop listening to this podcast at work because It made me laugh in a manner that was unprofessional. I LOVE this podcast. No second opinion necessary, 5 stars. Just kidding I didn’t really stop listening at work. Can’t stop won’t stop. No regrets.
Such an amazing podcast. Every episode is a must listen.
Updated: July 7, 2019: I listen to this at the gym, and there have been many, many times I've laughed so hard I've almost injured myself. Jason, John, and June are the perfect podcast combo!
Absolutely hands down my favorite podcast! I actually own a majority of the movies they talk about. When I stumbled across this I was like “hells yeah these movies were awesome!” Granted I hadn’t seen some of em in awhile. Then I remember how ridiculously funny they were! Favorite episodes are Face off, Bloodsport, and No Holds Bar! Paul, Jason and June keep em coming!
All of a sudden episodes don’t show up at all, I can download them and sync on my computer and it will show them there, but it’s not on my iPod. I resubscribe (I already am) and then it will partially show things, but not the episodes, just the prequel stuff. Please fix this apple
Love! Jon, June & Jason are the best!
*Chef kiss* LOVE YOU GUYS.
I laugh out loud listening to this podcast. It also makes me question my choices of what I thought were good movies in my youth. When you guys break down the movies I literally pee my pants. Guys you are doing God’s Work. Bless You.
The Snowman episode was fantastic. I regretted seeing that movie once the credits rolled, but I’m happy I did because it made this episode so hilarious.
I can’t get enough of this show!
I only listened to the Snowman episode but it became irritating to listen to for more than 5 min.
Jon, June and Jason are the best.
is a terribly made movie based on an incredible piece of satire by carl hiaasen, a novelist and former reporter from the miami herald. it’s supposed to be absurd, but the movie isn’t subtle...and the irony is lost.
Amazing pod. Fantastic cast.
I passed on the chance to scream GEOSTORM!!! at Mantzoukas outside the Arclight and I’ll regret it to my dying day. Don’t mess up like I did, guys. Harass this man.
She loves listening to this podcast and she can’t stop laughing. FIVE STARS!!!
This pod makes me feel loved and special. Y’all are a dreamboat!
In love with June! Paul and Jason are ok! :)
If you could get them to stop interrupting each other and their guest, it would be better. It's annoying AF.
Love the podcast, and great to go back and listen to old ones
I love everything about this podcast and the hosts and the chemistry and the guests and the audiences at the live shows and the attitudes and the movies and the questions and the “I’d argue that...”s and the mini-episodes and the whole thing. So Great.
I am listening to all of them. In a row. Sooo worth it. Thank you thank you
Jason and Paul are absolutely hilarious. But June is the real star here, she just adds that extra something that makes this podcast one of the funniest offerings ever.
This was the one that got me into podcasts almost a decade ago. Well done.
Funniest podcast I’ve ever heard. Even the movies I haven’t seen are hilarious. I will personally buy every product advertised on here. I don’t have a baby, but if I do, we will be on the front row. Please don’t ever stop making these.
I love this show but there are so many ads now. Paul makes them a little bit more fun but still toooooo mannnyyyyy adddsssss
I look forward to finding out what movie I need to watch every other week. I literally laugh out loud every episode. The live episodes are ten times better then the studio episodes but I will still listen. Just saw a live show in Austin this weekend. It was everything and more. FIVE STARS!!! Jason is the best. June John and Jason. Lol. #thatsatshirt #itspaulnotjohn
You guys need to do a review on The Nukie movie!!! I swear, it’s a banger lol
I could listen to them talk about the country bears for 100 hours no joke
These were the guys who got me into podcasts and made me want to make them myself
I work on the toad as a salesman so I’m in the car a lot. I do wish I had time to watch these movies, but either way it’s great to hear everyone’s thoughts on B movies and cult movies. The first episode I heard was the Bloodsport episode and I’ve been hooked since. Thank you Paul, June, and Jason for all of the laughs!
Great podcast, best part of my day.
Best podcast I’ve ever listened to. I even listen to episodes over again because I love this trio. Jason, I love you. Do yourself a favor and listen now to HDTGM
I love this show, but like many reviews I’ve read, I don’t care For prequel episodes. I delete them every week. I’m kind of here for Paul AND Jason, so the fillers don’t offer me much. Keep up the great work with half the episodes, though!
I ❤️ this. Recently found and listening to all the episodes. No complaints. You guys are vibrant.
Love a good rip on a bad movie, and this crew really lets it rip. I've tried other bad-movie podcasts, and this is the one I enjoy most. But the filler episodes in between movies don't do anything for me, and the occasional schtick of deliberately misunderstanding plot points (and especially the sarcasm of some five-star reviews on Amazon) gets a little old.
I recently watched the 1989 Patrick Swayze flick, Road House. I now live with unrequited hope to one day here it skewered on HDTGM.
Greatest podcast of all time. So fun and funny.
Not sure if you all have done this one yet, but oh my god please do.
This is easily the most fun podcast out there. It’s also more than just a great concept, Paul, June & Jason are perfect hosts and bring so much to the table. Definitely give it a listen!
Listen to June, Jason and Paul tear into some of the worst movies ever made. You don’t need to watch the movies they are watching to enjoy the show (thankfully). All around great time.
What's up jerks, this podcast is the best! Five Stars!
it’s good. give them your money, advertisers.
One of my favorite podcasts!
This is such a good podcast. Jason, June and Paul are hilarious. I wish I could go to a live show 😫
For every good laugh you have to sit through several minutes of the hosts just yelling over each other. At the end of the day, it’s just three people trying to be nasty and who are not that funny in the process.
Awful movies. Amazing podcast.
The podcast used to be good when they did movies most people have seen. Haven’t listened in awhile because I have never even heard of the movies they do. I check every now and then in hopes they’ll do a movie I heard of. Maybe I’ll listen again in the future.
I have loved Conan since the late night show. This podcast is fantastic. The Bill Hader show was favorite so far and I am looking forward to the Howard Stern show. Thanks for doing this.
I love this podcast so much. It’s hilarious and smart. Whether you just get the original trio or a guest, I find that it’s always brilliant and enjoyable. I hope to one day go to a live showing!
Just opened package 2 days ago the movie would not play on my Blue Ray player. The Movie company logo came on the screen and nothing else. Screen went blank. Tried 4 times and same!!! ????DEFECTIVE???? 5 Stars.
And June too. Paul is probably one of the most annoying hosts I've ever listened to on a podcast. Love the movies, but honestly, I think there are better independent podcasts out there which are worth your listens and subscription which don't have hosts like Paul
Such a funny podcast. It can take a few episodes to get into the groove and figure out the dynamics of the group, but once you do it’s so enjoyable. I never miss an episode.
June, Jason and Paul are absolutely hilarious! Who knew listening to other people talk about watching bad movies was so amazing! I have loved every episode. My new favorite obsession and it just puts you in a great mood. 5 stars!
It’s not often a podcast lives up to its reputation this late in - but this one does!
If you listen, you will love. Especially if you love the comedy of Jason and Paul. If you haven't seen the movie they talk about, it is still hella entertaining but if you have...it makes it that much better. Jason, Paul, and June have great chemistry. The live shows are so much fun. The guests are all great and the mini-episodes are fun and interactive! Ps Out of 70 I rate it a 69!!
I love this podcast- it strikes the proper balance of acknowledging even if a film isn’t “great” people can still enjoy watching it- and through their humor, Paul, June, and Jason (plus bonus guests) can turn to the audience and say “we get it.” Funny, thorough, and thoughtful- it’s appreciated that they humorously include various second opinions for those who indeed loved a film, even if they didn’t. I can only hope my own podcast is half as good as this one someday. Please keep up the fantastic work all, it’s a pleasure to listen.
You cannot go back to your old self after. It changes you.
This was the first podcast I ever listened to starting in 2013. Of course, the episodes where you've seen the movie are better, but it's still great even when you have not seen the movie. Paul and Jason are great!
Absolutely love this pod. Paid for stitcher premium strictly so I could listen to the full HDTGM catalogue.
It’s literally! Very funny
Loved this years ago when they did Sharknado. Quit a few years later. I checked back to see why I quit, and instantly remembered: it’s not funny any more and it’s constant yelling over one another about nothing. No thanks.
I love this show more than any other! It’s so rewarding and fun. Even the mini-sodes are great! Start from the beginning and work your way through! Geostooooooorm!
Love it! Good belly laugh.
This podcast was a blast, loved it. But after listening, I watched Van Helsing for the first time, expecting it to be pretentious and intolerable, but it's actually a blast. Just go into it expecting a jacked up comic book james bond monster fest, and you'll be fine. Funny, fast, great performances, scary cool monsters (just roll with the dated cgi), some nice quippy dialogue, and absolutely awesome production design. Also, great Frankenstien monster- take a moment to savor the scene where he is encased in ice. I love movies that really go for it, and this one goes big. Just don't overthink it!!! It's also great fodder for jacked up criticism, and the HDTGM crew dive right in, rolling throughout this live podcast at the same breathless pace as the film. The guest appearance by reliably hilarious Seth Rogan is a huge bonus. So this is a great double header, a fun movie and a great live podcast. Wish I couldn't seen both live!!
You HAVE to review Book of Henry. It is the most insane plot ever. And aboslutely terrible, also weirdly stacked with a good cast?
I stumbled across this podcast, and I love it! I love it so much that I actually went and subscribed to Stitcher so that I could listen to all the episodes. It’s fun and light and great to have a podcast that isn’t super heavy and requires you to pay attention to complicated details. It’s funny whether or not you’ve watched the movies. Highly recommend for anyone that likes comedy and movies!
I have loved this podcast ever since its first episode streamed. The funny and sometimes obtuse insights of Paul, Jason and June are what enhances each of these special, special movies. Thier musings help me to "see" these movies in a diferent light. They have a super heroes vision into the inner-workings of the industry, actors and producers that is still fresh and ever-appealing. I am addicted to this podcast. I was driving home to D.C. for a funeral and listening to Birdemic helped me laugh and reminisce on life and that breath of fresh air movie. I listen to multiple episodes over and over again. Cracks me Up each and ever time too! Please come to Cincinnati, Ohio - you will be well received and fall in love with thoe other big C city in the Midwest.
The funniest podcast out there with a real appreciation for movie making. Please someone let Paul, Jason and June have cameos in the Fast and Furious franchise
I really wish there were more of these. The bi monthly schedule truly isn’t enough.
But they talk over each other constantly. This podcast reminds me of Mystery Science Theater 3000, right after the screening of the movie pick, right before the script writing. I love that everyone is dissecting the movie, I just wish I could hear them all clearly. Some of the movies are really out of left field (Dragon Blade!?) but that’s to be expected. At any rate, I really like this podcast. Stop yelling over each other, and I’ll give you all 5 stars. 🙂
It’s impossible to be sad listening to this podcast. I highly recommend listening when you have a bad day.
I actually laugh out loud more times than not. My favorite episodes have the magic combo of Jason, June, and Paul. Love the banter. Don’t listen to the incel dude reviews about the guests. Or do. Idgaf. Just keep making this.
Started with the Wild Wild West episode with Kevin Smith which was fantastic. I had such high hopes. Moved on to Speed 2, which was okay but repetitive and wore me out. Okay, let’s do one more. Tried The Snowman and couldn’t make it 5 minutes. Why is everyone yelling in that episode? This podcast is all about the guest, and that guest should ALWAYS be Kevin Smith.
Hilarious top-to-bottom takes on bad movies, which is usually funniest if it's a movie you've seen (though surprisingly, even episodes about movies I haven't seen manage to be entertaining!). Anyone who listens long enough will instantly pick up on the memes and in-jokes in the show, like "Scribbles," "What's it's mission?" "Put her in a bra," and "What exactly is a Street Fighter?", all of which are genuinely hilarious moments. So why not five stars? The guest hosts aren't always the best. Frequently the guest host will end up being some gravel-voiced woman I've never heard of who runs a podcast about feminism (and you just KNOW has blue-dyed hair and black plastic-rimmed glasses), whose only contribution is to complain about the movie's treatment of "people of color." Hard pass. Plus, they had Amy Schumer as a guest host at least once. You can't give that five stars. You just can't.
Awesome, amazing love it. All of you make the greatest pod ever. Side note do league of extraordinarily gentlemen
This is one of my top go to shows. But after listening to “The Snowman”, I BEG you to never let Erin Gibson back on. Holy hell, she is the worst guest you’ve ever had. Grating and not funny.
If you can get past the unnecessary political and social justice nonsense it’s actually a very good show. Sorry I just really hate politics and SJW stuff in something it shouldn’t be in. Very funny and interesting takes on bad movies. I highly recommend
The Con Air episode is hands down an all time favorite, but this show is hilarious. Paul, June and Jason bring their own takes on everything, it’s so good!
I have been a fan of this podcast since high school (so like 2010 maybe?) and it is just the best. Jason’s laugh and appreciation of a solid Jacob’s ladder scenario, June’s opinions on wardrobe choices and animal rights and Paul’s perfect mispronunciations make for a laugh every time I listen.
I am always extremely excited when a new episode drops. They watch these bad films and provide actual thoughtful/critical analysis for every movie. The natural charm of the hosts (even cantankerous Jason) shines through in every episode. Five out of five stars.
I am addicted. This show is so great — it’s funny, it’s entertaining, and it’s got some amazing hosts! If you’re a fan of The League, this is a great show for you. If you didn’t watch The League, well, go watch it and also... listen to this podcast. The premise is simple... Jason, June, and Paul (and guests) watch terrible movies so we don’t have to and they tell us all about it. And it’s hilarious. I am constantly recommending it and have got friends and family members listening to it now, too! They do live shows (which I would LOVE to attend if they ever come to Oregon) and they are some of my absolute favorite episodes. Just find an episode that has a movie you’ve heard of before or maybe watched and I’m telling ya... you’ll be hooked.
I can’t even begin to express how much happiness this podcast brings. Listen now.
I tend to listen to true crime and mma podcasts, but my favorite is still How Did this Get Made? I find myself laughing for every episode. And I've had plenty of fun watching the movies with friends and fam. I give them 5 bags of popcorn.
Consistently awesome content, very funny show. Paul, June & Jason - simply the best!
I love this podcast. When people ask me to recommend podcasts,, I always mention this podcast first.
Looking for dirty wholesome fun? Then this is the podcast for you!
This podcast was something I stumbled upon a year ago and I absolutely love it. Subscribe to it, download all of the available episodes and then check back frequently for when they add older episodes from “their vault.” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve busted out laughing while listening to it. Genuine, full-on laughter. The world currently seems like a pretty dark place and we need more fun like this to lighten things up.
First time listener, so I checked out the episode with Dan Radcliffe- it was TERRIBLE! Everyone shouted over each other the entire show, including their guest, which was incredibly rude. I don’t think Dan finished a single sentence, and I cringed every time they interrupted him. They only talked about the movie sporadically, instead getting off on boring tangents about their Hollywood jobs or Michael Jackson’s chimp. Why have a podcast busting on movies if you’re only going to briefly mention a few funny sounding scenes and then not even go into detail about them?! Listen to a better movie podcast like We Hate Movies or The Rewatchables.
My first podcast years ago and has only gotten better. Love it.
I give this podcast 5 stars because iTunes failed to create an rating system that could capture the excellence that is "How Did This Get Made". Those of you who rated this podcast with one star...HOW DARE YOU!! Please keep your soulless troglodyte opinions to yourself! I rate you with zero stars and would appreciate your future silence on the topic of awesomeness. Thank you June, Jason and Paul!! You bring me joy.
This is the funniest podcast I’ve ever listened to thus far. I began buy just trying a few. Now I have to have it so I’ve subscribed to Stitcher. Im watching the movies beforehand. Thanks June, Paul, and Jason, my commute is so much more enjoyable.
I actually listen to this podcast almost every night to fall asleep because it is interesting enough to distract my mind from everything that would keep me up, but not too interesting to grab my attention and keep me up with an extended and coherent narrative. 5 stars.
Just found the podcast, and I am in love! I have been jumping around to the movies I have seen, and I am looking forward to watching more terrible movies just so I can laugh along with them! If you haven’t done Eragon, please add it to your list. I would love to hear what you guys have to say about it. Thanks for the laughs!
Hilarious but the movies are so obscure I’ve never seen any, so I don’t listen to those episodes. Would be significantly better if the movies were even a little more mainstream.
I’ve listened to this show for years and it continues to be a biweekly highlight.
This show has truly makes me happier every time I listen to it. I started in 2016 and the hits keep on coming. Typically a show will have kind of fade off and become less interesting, but Paul, Jason, and June keep filling up the well with gold. Truly the best podcast around!
How can you not love a pod cast with perhaps the funniest man on the planet (Jason) and my favorite celebrity couple? You all bring us pure joy and I thank you!
I love everything about this podcast. It’s gotten me through a lot of long, boring drives and has almost caused a few crashes due to laughter. 😂
Thanks guys, you make my Friday’s worth it -listening to your reviews. Do you think NeverEnding Story would be podcast worthy?
My favorite podcast
They crack me up. I haven’t seen most of the movies they talk about and don’t feel like I need to. June is my spirit animal. Hope to make it to a live show soon!
The banter breaking down these bad movies is so good. TMNT 2 and Ladybugs are 2 of my favorites.
HDTGM is always good for a laugh but this episode might be my favorite! Jason and Paul F Tompkins were on FIRE! Love the show!
This is not the best movie or comedy podcast, but just THE best podcast. I have trouble listening to it at work because I get awkward glances from my coworkers as I cry from laughing. I’ll even go back and listen to episodes over and over again. Paul, June, and Jason have an amazing dynamic and I am in love with all of them (especially Jason). So what are you waiting for? Subscribe jerks!
We here at The Cole Spot.com love this podcast. It is perfection in podcasting.
Great cast to listen to especially in the live episodes. All three host are hilarious and make reviews of terrible movies very entertaining
Worth your while... especially for movie fans who hated loving a particular movie, or, if there is an actor you love to hate!
This is my favorite podcast. All the episodes are hilarious. They watch all these horrible movies so you don't have to. They are much more fun when you have actually seen the movie though. Their live podcasts are always crazy and fun. I hope to see one one day. GEOSTOOOOOOORRRRRRMMMMMM!
That’s a really great question, because all of the positive reviews of this podcast are from 8 years ago... Fast forward 8 years to today...it’s basically A LOT of plugs with some forced improve. Perhaps the host is being forced to do this against his will and we should send help...
I want to love this podcast but when they introduce the #4 (guest) participant I groan...y’all talk over each other too much - funny, fun, engaging input that I can’t understand! 😂
Just funny people talking funny stuff. I can't wait for the episode where they do the film of a train pulling into the station from 1903.
I used to talk about movies with my friends but they’re dead to me. You guys are my new friends now. Welcome to the team. 5 stars.
I find this podcast to be absolutely hysterical, I just wish I found it sooner. The way they dissect each trashy movie in the best spirit possible actually makes me laugh out loud, something no other podcast except Nerdist does. Give these three a try! Start with the jingle all the way episode
Paul told me I had to, he had a knife....
What’s up jerks! The best podcast!
Just power laughed in the middle of an Equinox gym in Marina Del Rey at the Jack Frost re-release ep. I watched it in horror over the holidays and was thrilled to listen to your companion episode. You’re doing the lords work and I am deeply grateful for your collaborative discussions.
One of the first podcasts I started listening to and still one of the best
Can you check out and possibly talk about how this movie got made? I’m baffled
The hosts know nothing about movies, they ramble about what they remember when they obviously haven’t seen it in years, don’t remember it, or just don’t understand what happened in the movies. I would recommend staying away from this podcast, it is seriously awful. It’s a rip off of so many other podcasts but done very poorly. To he people running this: Don’t have a podcast about film if you don’t know the films you are reviewing - it is disrespectful to the film makers and you are influencing audiences with your ignorant opinions.
Love the podcast and have seen a live show as well. They are always so entertaining :)
One of the funniest podcasts I've ever heard. Paul, Jason and June are a great team and funny as hell. Love the special guests as well. Hope they never run out of bad movies to review.
Such a great show. Hilarious with little tidbits of industry insight and the always fantastic second opinions.
Jason Mantzoukas is a treasure.
The first podcast I truly fell in love with where I would make sure to listen to the new episodes the day they came out. Comforting podcast that I’ve listened to when I happy or sad or anything in between. Thanks guys!!!
Love this posdcasts. Some of the funniest stuff I’ve ever heard!
Everything about this podcast is flawless. It is an absolute MUST listen.
Finding this podcast has been the best thing that has happened this year. Jason, June and Paul are the greatest people to listen to when you want to just laugh and get away from the political landscape for awhile. I love walking around, smiling and laughing out loud. I keep donating money to their podcast and I hope they never stop. There are SO many bad movies they need to discuss. I've watched some of the movies they've reviewed and enjoyed them, having heard their hilarious commentary. I love you guys!!!!!!
I love this podcast. It gives me life. I can always count on this show to bring a smile to my face. Face Off, From Justin to Kelly and Teen Witch are some of my all time favorite episodes.
Trust me, I’ve listened to every episode and only seen a handful of the movies. The episodes are still hilarious, even if you don’t know about the movies. For a lot of them, I’ve watched the movie after listening to the show. I’d recommend starting with an episode for a movie you’ve seen just to get a feel for the show though. I LOVE this show!
I listen to this on my morning run. I look like a crazy person just laughing out loud running around the suburbs! Thank you for making my neighbors fear me.
This is my favorite show. Never have I ever watched the movie before listening to the show. Doesn’t matter. Always funny.
They talk about movies bro
What’s up JERKS! Thanks for keeping me laughing even when times are tough. As a lover of film and bad movies I truly enjoy your insights and lampoonery.
Please please please watch and review The Last Dragon if you haven’t already done so!! It’s on Netflix!! 06DEC2018
Bad movies. Good times. Join this wacky pack of rascals as they endeavor to acheive the impossible, one shoddy flop at a time.
One of the reasons I listen to podcasts, and if didn’t, I would still listen to this.
This is one of my must-listen podcasts every week, and it has been ever since I first discovered it. Not precisely sure when that was, I admit, but I can definitely say that the one that made it a must-listen was "Miami Connection." I hope it goes on forever. And if it doesn't, I will of course immediately contact all of the hosts and demand to know, "What's up, jerks?!"
Can y’all PLEASE do Patch Adams. Love from Ireland k bye
Single greatest podcast I’ve found to help me survive a cubicle existence at work. Jason Mantzoukas is a GD treasure and we should all be thankful the podcast medium brings him to us, even with the egg allergy which I’m almost certain is made up
Have been exposed to things that I did not want to see and are not better for it........wouldn't have it any other way though. Three funny hosts who make it all happen.
I drive for lyft and sometimes listen to the podcast on one ear pod...the rider never knows! Until i laugh out loud hysterically I’m the middle of a quiet car ride. “There’s corn in the diarrhea” was the line that got me. I’ve loved Paul since vh1 days...so happy he is still alive.
I absolutely love this show.
I love good movies, I also love to hear these guys dish on horrible movies. Would love to hear you guys talk about Outcast with Nicholas Cage and Hayden Christensen.
This Podcast is pure fun ... good movies, bad movies doesn’t matter these guys with their guest are funny and so entertaining. I have to see them live once.
This is by far my favorite podcast of all time! Paul, Jason, and June are the perfect trio for ripping apart movies. Keep up the good work! Can’t wait for look who’s talking now!
Jason Mantzoukas and Paul Scheer- both funny on their own but HYSTERICAL together. Their chemistry and reviews are hilarious and an enjoyment to listen to. June unfortunately clocks in around a 65% funny rate and goes on a lot of feminist rants. All for feminism but this podcast is about them watching (mostly) bad 80s/90s movies. Not sure where she's expecting all of these progressive 2018 ideals to come in in a movie like 'Striptease'
Perfect to fall asleep to. Right amount of interesting and boring. Love June. Five stars.
Host chemistry, quality running jokes/callbacks, guest appearances, industry insider insights, and crowd interaction (for the live shows) make this show flawless. This content improves the quality of my life. 5 stars.
Best show! Always look forward to new episodes and digging into the back catalog.
Love the cast and show! Keeps me laughing all day :) Huge crush on Jason :)
June makes the best points but y’all just plow right over her. It’s so annoying. It’s a good podcast but LET JUNE TALK.
Three funny and amazing people! Great show!
Like movies? Hate long commutes? This podcast is for you. These three dig into every inane turn these terrible movies offer up and clearly have a great time doing it.
But funny I guess
For years I wanted to have my own show called, “Who green-lighted this crap!” Reality is.....these guys can just plain do it better!
The best always
Because I listen to this hilarious show obsessively, I find myself reading any and everything review-wise this Jason’s voice. Thank you jerks.
I’m sorry that I just found out about this podcast a few weeks ago. Catching up here and on stitcher! Love the show and look forward to each episode!
... and I am loving every minute of it. You may have saved my life, with this podcast. My commute is the length of an episode. I don’t even bother rewatching the movies, because your descriptions bring the memories flooding back, but with a new cringeworthy feel.
What the title says
I’ve been following this podcast every week for over five years, and I still look forward to every Friday when a new episode is released. The best thing about this cast is that they dig so deep into these awesomely awful films, it’s not really required that you watch them (though will you for sure want to at least YouTube a lot of the scenes after). Thank you June, Paul, Jason, and Nick Cage.
You’ll piss yourself with laughter and have a reason to go back and watch some of these god awful movies. Paul, Jason, June thank you for making my morning and evening commute that much easier, well now that I’ve switched to depends.
I just discovered this podcast it’s really funny a bit twisted Truly entertaining great job looking forward to future episodes
I’ve only listened to four episodes so far, but they’ve all been really funny. If you’re listening at work, use earphones as there is some R-rated content.
A bunch of pods try to do the same routine, but HDTGM stands head-and-shoulders above all of them. I binge-listen every time the paywall cycles through!
I disagree strongly with your decision to attempt to force me to pay for episodes that may be 5+ years old, some of which are true classics. Your live shows don’t measure up to the early discussions you had.
Long time first time. Love the pod cast the comments, feedback, and critiques are attic above top shelf! Reason I lowered from a 5 star is that Paul forced his other podcast Unspooled onto this podcast. If I wanted to hear that podcast you know what I would do??? Download or subscribe. Paul please stop trying to force feed your the other podcast. There is a reason I don’t eat cookies and cream ice cream onto of my chicken fried chicken. Now if you have June and Jason on I will listen...
I was a very early listener of HDTGM, and over time, I can now only listen occasionally. While Jason and June (and most guests) remain great, Paul’s interruptions of anything funny with pointless minutiae that no one cares about but him kills it for me every time. If the show is a runaway train of funny, he is the brakes. The 3 stars are for the times he isn’t interjecting meaningless comments. The show was better when he was essentially setting up the plot for others to comment on.
I’ve listened and enjoyed for years but the fatigue is starting to set in a bit.
y’all are fantastic and have come a long way. thank you
...Paul, not so much. I appreciate Paul’s work and love this show. But where Jason and June KILL IT EVERY TIME, getting huge laughs, Paul sounds like the not-funny friend in the room that gets pity laughs. There have been a few times when Jason has nailed a genuinely funny joke and Paul tries to embellish or add to it and it just falls flat. Also, the advertisements narrated by Paul are painful. Otherwise the show is awesome.
This show gives me so much joy! Albeit this joy is derived from the pain of suffering through so many bad movies. I mean like really terrible, terrible movies. These movies had it coming. Jason, Paul and June are the arbiters of the audience's revenge and each plays a worthy, hilarious role in the savagery of the movie. Like the Three Amigos, only I don't know who's Chevy Chase. The guests are always great and the live shows have some of the best audience produced theme songs of any podcast. Listeners of this podcast are talented! I hope the show never ends.
Hilarious pod cast.
Crazy about this podcast, love listening.
Love, love, LOVE! Every time I listen to HDTGM it makes me laugh (usually out loud...which is super embarrassing because I generally listen to it with headphones in 😂) It's a fantastic stress reliever! Thank you HDTGM!
I’m addicted to this show now I haven’t listened to anything else in almost two weeks. It’s like crack for my ears, send help, I can’t quit. #howisjasonsingle
Every episode kills me this thing is so funny I hope it goes on for ever
I listened years ago stopped after a while. Came back to it recently and man did i miss this, laughs a plenty from Jason and Paul. June is the calming voice in a sea of madness making it overall fun and free. Do yourself a favor and listen.
I love / hate this podcast. Why can’t they produce more of them? Why can’t they review Meet The Feebles? You should watch. It’s great.
Stumbled on this podcast and really enjoy it so far. The episode about The Room sealed the deal for me! Really like the guests they bring on, too. Def. worth trying! I’m loving the laughs on my long commute. Keep up the great work you three!
Love this show, thanks
You guys have to review Watermelon haste
How? Who is this person? Do they hate movies or comedy? Or maybe they were hard of hearing and didn’t realize podcasts were an audio medium? Either way what a sad sad soul.
Don’t need to see the movies to enjoy the humor. Proving that bad movies get better with age.
Paul’s unfunny, Jason’s screaming has gotten old, and June is only around half the time. HDTGM was my favorite podcast for years, but it feels like a shadow of its former self. Also, Paul’s ad-reads are absolutely agonizing. A real bummer.
This is one of my favorite podcasts. It makes me love bad movies, even the ones I have not seen.
Funniest and best of the "discuss bad movies" podcasts - my favorite genre.
The three hosts of HDTGM really work together flawlessly. They play off each other’s strengths and weaknesses so well and make a great comedic team. GEOSTORM!
This is by far my favorite podcast! Paul, June and Jason are some of the funniest people. Listening to their take on these movies makes me laugh out loud!
My friend Phong Ho turned me onto this podcast after I showed him the Youtube sensation Good Bad Flicks. This podcast is amazing and addictive. I have to continuously cut myself off from it, because it takes over my life. First ep I watched: Perfect (that was the name of the movie). Favorite ep: Tie between Tango and Cash and No Holds Barred. Episode where I realized I had a lot in common with Jason M.: Face/Off. Episdoe where I realized I had a lot in common with Paul:.....I don't remember which episode it was, but in it, he referenced the fact that he used to record movies on audio tape and listen to them on his Walkman, specifically the Hines-Crystal classic Running Scared. Episode I turned off: Lake Placid. Sorry, it seemed like there was going to be some Bill Pullman bashing, and I can't have that. Episode where I cried: Masters of the Universe. Thanks, June.
This is a very silly and fun podcast. I love that I have added this to my regular listening. I give this podcast 5/7 perfect score!!
3 funny people and more talk bad movies.
Most mornings, I wake up thinking, “Fuck. I haven’t died yet.” But when I see I’ve got a new ep of HDTGM, I think, “Yay.” Thanks!
Can a podcast make you want to see a really bad movie? This one can. I’m hooked. This is a well made podcast. It’s very funny.
For the periwinkle in your day that loves something “so bad it’s good”. Okay, I let predictive text write half that sentence... But if you love listening to hilarious/insightful people talk about outrageous movies listen to this amazing podcast!
Paul Scheer and June are amazing, but Jason is a little too over the top for me, and is constantly interrupting the two.
Paul June and Jason are my favorite people of all time!!! This podcast is hilarious and awesome. They've gotten me through dark times in my life and my opinion is that you should listen to thiiiisssss!!!
This is the best subject and the best hosts and the best guests. The execution is always fantastic. Never stop this podcast. It could all be better still because its not all that great stay humble and get over yourselves. Disappointing really. FIVE STARS.
This podcast is my reason for living.
Amazing work from all three hosts, Jason, June, and Paul all work together so well and are able to add so much additional color to the movies that they are viewing in each episode.
Heard about this show through Gilmore guys. They talk about all the movies I loved as a kid. Paul and June are so sweet I love to hear their input. Jason is a great well of jokes, and keeps the show interesting and fun.
I love this podcast so much. Not only is it hilarious as well as interesting, but the chemistry between Paul, June, and Jason is something that can't be manufactured or forced. It is so unique and entertaining!!!
I definitely have a top episode list for this podcast - Halloween 2: Season of the Witch, Road House, Ladybugs, Con Air and Anaconda. Striptease has now surpassed them all and is by far #1 for me. So much love for June, Paul & Jason!
I came a little late to the podcast party, and am now an avid listener. The podcasts subscribe to tend to be hit and miss at times, but the one I’m always excited about is How Did This Get Made. Whether I’m doing the dishes, walking the dog or just sitting and listening, hanging out with Paul, June and Jason is like being with friends. I love comedy and movies, so this is s great fit for me. I recommend it to others all the time.
Love this podcast so much. I havent even seen most of the movies they talk about and still laugh through each episode. Highly recommend if youre looking for great comedy!
I look forward to it every week. Very funny.
Paul, Jason, and June are very funny together. If they review a movie I’ve seen it can be very funny. But if they review a movie I haven’t seen it’s not a very good podcast. They don’t spend enough time explaining the plot of the movie or who the characters are and it’s easy to get lost. Street Fighter and Blood Sport are the best ever.
Really good but just have to get June off
This and nerdist got me into podcasts, and that’s all I listen to anymore. Also I am the Paul of my group, just so you guys know. Anyway, I want to welcome everyone to earth, and tell them about this Mazing podcast
These guys are hilarious. They could literally talk about anything and likely entertain you for hours. The terrible movie breakdown is just a wonderful bonus. If you need a starting recommendation: Con Air.
It totally doesn’t matter if you haven’t seen the movie they’re talking about. Paul, June and Jason are so hilarious and so fun to listen to! It’s one of my total faves.
I first was turned into this podcast on a road trip and it had the whole car laughing hysterically. It made the night drive feel short and pleasant. The show is feel good, and the mailbag episodes between movies are just as good and I look forward to them just as much! It’s fun to listen to Paul give advice. They’ve all just got great attitudes and this show imbues hilarity and joy to one’s travels!
I could go on and on why this is my favorite podcast to listen too. I’ll just say this, I never thought an 1 1/2+ hour long episodes podcast could keep my attention, yet at the end of every episode I find myself saying, “damn it’s over already.”
Long time listener, first time reviewer. This crew is consistently funny and always entertaining. Highly recommended.
I’m just writing a five star review to help you guys out. Five Stars!
I am a mobile X-ray tech and spend 8+ hours a day driving around. Needless to say that I have listened to every episode and mini-sode. Jason, June and Paul literally get me through my work week and if nothing else, this is a thank you.
I absolutely love this podcast. Their observations on bad movies are funny even if you haven’t seen the films. But if you’ve already seen them you will be laughing hilariously.
It's funny and they do such a good job it's not even necessary to watch the movies to appreciate their commentary. And they smartly include commentary that elevates discussions about misogyny, racism and general bad treatment of marginalized groups — all while being hilarious. See episodes about Striptease or that Neil Diamond movie The Jazz Singer. I hope that they do "Day of the Animals" — it was meant for this show!
This podcast makes watching horrible movies watchable!
As a person who listens to lots of podcasts, this is without question the funniest thing going. It definitely does not matter if you’ve seen the movie or not. Paul always does a great job of explaining whatever you need to know and Jason is just a barrel of laughs.
Love Paul, June and Jason! This show will make you laugh so hard that if you are listening to it in your car people will wonder what’s up. T to B, this podcast is next level awesome.
Comedic genius all around. I never stop laughing 🤣 my very favorite!
I love the movies they choose for this podcast. Some of the movies are actually good!
This is without a doubt one of my favorite podcasts ever.
Paul, Jason, June, and their various guests are all hilarious in their own special, individual ways. This podcast is like hanging out with your pals talking about bad movies (some you love, some... not so much)— only way funnier. This is one of my favorite podcasts.
Always hilarious, I get super excited when I see a new episode in my feed! Great podcast because you can start anywhere and you'll catch on quicky. I blew through all the episodes available and I'm hungry for more! Can't wait until they come back to Boston.
This is one of my absolute “can’t-miss” shows. I’ve turned on friends to it, and they love it. Whether you’ve seen the movie they’re discussing or not, you’re going to laugh. GEOSTORM!!!
I’ve been listening to HDTGM for a few years now and it is a CAN’T MISS podcast in my feed. I never miss an ep and even relisten to my favs often. (Looking at you Timecop.) It’s a ton of fun and always hilarious. Do yourself a favor and listen!!
What else can be said about this show? Find a terrible movie you love/hate/both and listen to these amazing people try to disect it with a hammer.
Listened for years but done with it today. June is simply unbearable as per her analysis of striptease. I’m a feminist and couldn’t even take it. “Striptease is a dangerous movie to watch”. Your ego and arrogance are appalling. forget when you were falling out of your trashy dress on Craig Ferguson? I came here for comedy. June is a pod killer
So very funny. If you want to laugh listen to the “Mannequin 2” episode.
Jason Mantzoukas is a majestic, untamable lion.
Whats up jerks. Side splitting hilarious commentary on the best worst movies you’ve ever heard of. Jason Paul and June include there guests in hilarious nonsense banter that will make you laugh and cry at the same time. You’ll love this if you like movies, bad movies, being the last ninja or break dancing is your jam. Please please bring the live show to Seattle in 2018! Love you guys A nd c
I love this show. I listen while I’m on my commute and I swear people think I’m losing it. Always a laugh out loud riot!!
This podcast made my wife pregnant.
Love the show, love the gang, sometimes I don’t even watch the movie I just like hearing them talk about them. They’re hilarious
Look, if you like sharp people trashing bad movies, then this might be for you. But that really speaks volumes about who you are. Do you like snappy dicks slitting the throats of your favorite “garbage” movies? NO!!! ...🤔...uhh...*checks theme* Yea, no!!! Def no! Nope, no. All they do is invite their “very” funny friends and everyone else to join them in punching down on defenseless Hollywood and the foreign markets that are more important than ever now a days... I just hope Paul, June, and Diane, and that ignorant slut Jason are all satisfied. Theyve all bankrupted the dreams of a bunch of naive movie folks. Folks from a Hollywood where values are...different. They werent thinking about the money. They just wanted to tell stories; stories about pseudo-vampire radioactive demolition men that can hack weather and accomplish realistic goals opposed by realistic bad guys. And these slick small-towners @HDTGM hooked them up and dragged them for all theyre worth... Amplify your outrage by listening to every episode
So much fun
WITH THAT BEING SAID I would listen to it more if the movies were more well known. I know none of these movies and I am a movie freak. Grease 2 and Con Air were the only ones I remember. I am not going to watch an episode for a movie I’ve never seen that is presented as bad when there is so much good stuff available. So aim towards more well known stuff maybe? Or stay the same what do I know, you’re the famouses.
This pod never fails to entertain. Love it
Even if you haven’t seen the movies they are talking about it’ll still make you laugh out loud. If not you may be dead inside.
Watch the movies before and you will die laughing. Amazing. Just amazing.
This is the funniest podcast in the world, hands down. The three of them have the best chemistry, and their insights into these terrible movies run the gamut from raunchy puns, to confusion over hilarious details, to meaningful insight, and I constantly feel sad when episodes end. I recommend you pick one for a movie you are familiar with and dive in.
Funny. So funny.
Can you guys please do “Mad Max: Fury Road”? That movie is absolutely bonkers. Breast milk to a guys on crack or something yelling about Valhalla. It’s a must.
It would be truly tragic if you never do “Vibrations” on your show. I widely inaccurate vignette if 90 rave culture starring a very amazing Christina Applegate, and the guy who sings “Just you” on Twin Peaks. Tragically severed hands are replaced with rubber ones, then robot ones that play music that’s supposed to be techno? Will it be used to psychologically torture some redneck murderers? Possibly. Do it jerks.
This podcast is what got me going on podcasts. Paul, June, and Jason are three of my favorite comedians. I walked all over NYC and ran my first half marathon while listening to this podcast. I will treasure it forever.
Been listening for years and this is still my favorite show. Tango & Cash and Jack Frost are really good episodes, for an example of this show at it's best.
Even if I haven’t seen the movie I am still laughing and cringing the whole episode and questioning the entire past decades entire decisions in cinema.
I can endure June’s 2 minute synopsis via Skype because it’s horrendously condescending to the audience but when she is a co-host the show really suffers.
Jason,Paul, and June...all rock! Loving every episode. Kudos!
I hate leaving negative reviews, and I love this show! But...I went back and listened to the recent episode on the 1993 movie “Hackers,” there were jokes that made me uncomfortable. It seemed anti-gender fluidity to me. Just my opinion, but it seemed that the jokes weren’t about how the movie treated gender fluidity, the jokes were about the fact that gender fluidity existed. Sorry guys, love the show and all of you as entertainers, but it bothered me enough to take a break from the show.
Great show! Very funny!
This podcast is the best. It NEVER fails to make me laugh and has helped push through some bad times. The best. ❤️❤️❤️
I listen to the show with earbuds in. Every time the "how does it get made" transition music pops in it scares me. I hear it's good for the heart and so is this podcast. Great chemistry amongst the three hosts. June's laugh is the best!!!!
This podcast is funny when June is on.
Look forward to very episode - very funny.
I couldn’t care less about Harry Potter. For some reason this week they reviewed an awful movie awfully.
Love the show, love the chemistry of the folks on the show. They are seemingly quite at ease and off the cuff but a ton of prep goes into these shows. I appreciate the balance of prepared info vs. improv. Both are usually spot on. Been listening since it was all studio shows. REALLY enjoy the live shows. So pumped I get to attend my first live HDTGM taping in Chicago in June of 2018.
...is so worthy of a review by this incredible podcast team. How can romantic dialogue top, "If I can't have you, can I at least have my alligator?" I enjoy being entertained by this podcast, in ways the movie couldn't achieve.
the older episodes are worth the subscription. I love this podcast.
I love this podcast and I love Jason! I also love Animal from the muppets. I’m sure it’s all a coincidence.
it’s just the best
The show reviews a number of movies from different genres. Many times the people in the podcasts and their guests will have the same questions you find yourself asking while watching films. Try it.
I get THE most joy out of listening to these!!!! These episodes actually make me want to watch these horrible movies. My absolute fave is their reviews on Fast & Furious franchise. So. Great.
My favorite podcast. The hosts are the best. The subject matter is the best. It's always hilarious. Everything about it is just the best. I love you.
Scroll through their library and listen up on a movie you recognize. You’ll realize that those movies you thought were awesome are really either A: Not as Good as You Thought or B: Craptastic.
I adore this podcast. Since discovering it a few months ago, I have listened to every single episode, some more than once. Even if you haven’t seen the movie they are talking about, it’s hilarious. Lately though, I’ve been watching the movie they are going to cover (announced a week ahead on the mini-episode) and I’ve found that makes the episode even more enjoyable.
Earwolf is a shill for Stitcher. It’s all behind a paywall now, not worth your time. You greedy pieces.
Let's get right to it - HDTGM is a must-listen. Remember when you had to wait a week for a new episode of your favorite TV show in the pre-streaming, pre-bingeing days? The anticipation would build and build and then finally... that new ep of "Mork & Mindy" or "Good Times" or "Freaks & Geeks" or whatever you loved appeared. Anyway, it's like that. June, Jason & Paul plus a special guest break down movies you may have loved (or never heard of). It's hilarious and insightful, and as accomplished actors/writers/directors, they appreciate the craft while punching it in the balls. Five stars!
People across the country routinely pay money to see these three (and/or) their special guests riff on terrible films. Enough said.
I want to be friends with these people!
On behalf of all of us balcony creeps, we love you and your wonderful content gents. Keep up the good work! @MatthewZirkes
The entire panel is always super funny and seem extremely likeable. I love listening to them recount some of the greatest/worst things ever made and I laugh out loud all the time. Would love to go see this podcast live.
Best podcast I’ve found. Paul, June Dianne and Jason are the best and the concept and humor is right on point.
This has been my favorite podcast for over five years now. Even if you don’t watch the movies beforehand, listening to Jason, Paul, and June dissect them is hysterical. It feels criminal that something so funny and entertaining is free to download.
I don’t care if you’ve seen it and you hate it! You’re not my dad. I’m a grown man and I have feelings. Did you see it? I bet you didn’t. Not if you’re not giving 5 Stars. All the stars in the sky for this movie! Thanks amazon. I didn’t think it was possible but you did it. Kisses and hugs. I love you forever and ever and ever. Paul. Jason. June most of all. Blesses and thanks. Stop and smell the roses, dum dums. ☮️
This show is actually funny. I download a lot of podcasts to try them out, but this is one I keep returning to.
I love this show. Mantzoukas, Scheer, and Raphael bring much needed joy to my week and I eagerly anticipate each new episode.
I always laugh out loud to this show! The hosts are amazing and guest hosts seem to be having the time of their lives on this show. Side note- Jason should have an advice talk line podcast. I heard him on Anna Farris’s show and it was easily the BEST episode. Jason, you make everything better and yes, you and Josh Hartnett are my top celeb crushes. Keep it up!!!!
Been listening for a few years now, and I love how the show has grown and changed into this amazingly bonkers and fun elegies for some of film's most overlooked gems.
I love these guys. They are smart funny and give great reviews. Five stars!
This is the only podcast so far that I must listen to day of. I watch these terrible awful films each week just knowing the payoff will be worth it. Ok, maybe not Garbage Pail Kids, but usually the payoff is worth the pain.
This is such a fun podcast. So great for long drives and hearty laughs.
Put her in a bra. Nuff said, 5 stars.
Makes every Friday that much more enjoyable. June is America’s sweetheart. Jason is a lovable Jerk. Paul is the man!
Best podcast ever.
The best podcast ever! I can’t wait for the next one. Paul FThompkins is sooo funny. He makes me laugh out loud! And when he does the improv with the guests- hilarious! What? How did this get made? Yeah that ones good too, yeah, yeah I like it. I should go....
I don't live in LA and every episode is live now. Unsubscribed, one star. Make a podcast, not a taped live show. Occasional live is ok, but every episode? And I can tell you use many video and other visual elements in your show as well.
The main trio in this podcast are hilarious. Rafi playing himself absolutely steals the show but Paul and June are extremely funny also.
It’s 2018!! And I’m just now starting to listen!! Where the heck have I been. This is the best podcast I’ve ever listened to! Thank you to all the people involved. Mad respect.
Whether you’ve seen each movie or listening to each episode on its own. It is always funny and the subject matter is always guaranteed to be funny. Even the worst movies get some sort of praise and everyone seems to come out better from sharing their experiences (when there are guests that worked on the movies )
I’m just saying, it’s pretty impressive that watching the movie they discuss is completely optional. The hosts and guests are so hilarious that it is somehow truly enjoyable listening to them talk about something you haven’t even seen (though watching the movie does add something to it). It is a goal of mine to see a live show sometime for sure.
The movie suggestions amazon keeps giving me have been atrocious. Mostly because I’ve been watching movies for this podcast for most of my adult life. I still remember when my college roommate told me “hey you like the league and bad movies, check out this podcast”. That was the week of the catwoman episode. Here I am many many years later still looking forward to each week’s episode.
I just discovered this podcast and love it! These three great comedians/general funny people and a guest discuss terrible movies. I haven’t even watched many of these movies and it is still hilarious- a great and entertaining replacement to spending time watching some bad movies.
I can't say how happy it makes me when a new episode comes out. Its weird how much happiness can be derived from some filmmakers failure.
Jason has me laughing love him.
I honestly don’t need to say more..The title says it all. Zoooooooooks
Jason, Paul, and June introduce the world to a particular brand of film. The films that became something other than films. Sometimes they became cult classics, sometimes steaming piles of hot garbage, and still others became Jacob's Ladder scenairos. This is always an interesting, engaging, hilarious take on movies you might otherwise ignore. Enjoy!
This show is responsible for the disgusted looks I get from the librarian when checking out unspeakably bad movies.
Please. She is awful. 500 stars for Paul and Jason carrying the podcast and 500 more for a prerecorded message from June. -999 stars for Tig Notaro.
I always laugh my butt off!
Paul, June, and Jason are hilarious, especially June. Sometimes you get guest hosts that are not funny at all...I wish there was a way to review individual episodes and get that feedback back to them.
A podcast of B-list celebs best known for a treasure trove of short-lived comedy projects of the spoof and absurdist variety who make fun of bad films...sort of. The Hosts: Jason Mantzoukas shines in the “Live” episodes and his banter with the crowd is always fun and entertaining. He seems to feed off of a live audience that results in a better episode for him. Studio episodes find him to be more of a movie critic and find him dropping insider terms (his favorite term being “ADR”)and he loses a lot of his edge and humor. Paul Scheer is a delight and by far the strongest of the 3 hosts but unfortunately finds himself bogged down with the bulk of hosting duties. He comes at the premise of this podcast in a way that he pokes fun at a film but simultaneously makes you want to watch the movie. June Diane Raphael is the weak link. With her catchphrases of “I took issue with...”, “I didn’t understand this...”, and “I fell asleep watching...” she consistently steers this comedy podcasts into unfunny territory. She is quick to point out the misuse of female characters or point out other gender issues in a movie all the while playing the part of the “ditzy blonde” host. The other hosts, especially Jason, often times treat her with kid gloves in a way that almost insults feminism; i.e. the Grease 2 episode. Guest hosts: There is a simple formula at work here: the more famous the Guest Host, the worse they are. Thomas Lennon, Ana Farris, Adam Scott and Sarah Silverman being some of the worst and bland while many of the up and coming comics and lesser known guest hosts have been incredible. However, all of this results in a very entertaining podcast, flaws and all. It is fun and the subjectivity of what defines a bad movie means some movies you love will be on here but the hosts almost always promote the movie enough in a way that isn’t destructive or overly aggressive. Most of the time you’ll finish the podcast with a desire to watch or rewatch the movie they just made fun of. 5 stars!
Would give it 5 stars, but you can’t listen to all the episodes they’ve made unless you pay
This is the most potent unit of funniness that I have encountered. I listen to each episode again and again and again.
best podcast ive listened to, hilarious and same type of ripping apart a movie you'd have with friends. the Live shows are great too with audience interaction, June is obviously the star of the show. I rate this 6 out of 5 stars.
What a great chemistry between all the hosts. The live episodes have a raucous energy that makes me laugh incredibly hard. Recommended for fans who take pleasure in the guilty pleasures of the film world.
HDTGM is hands down the funniest podcast I’ve ever listened to. As a movie buff I love the deep dives into the absolutely absurd selection of films discussed. But it’s the utterly hilarious banter between the 3 stellar hosts and their superb guests that makes you want to listen to every episode whether or not you’ve even ever heard of the film they’re discussing. 5 stars
Love this show! Found Paul, June and Jason from the league and now always look for a way to support them!
This show is so great. The way these hilarious folks take a horrible movie and turn it into a great conversation is the most amazing making of lemonade out of lemons I have ever experienced. If you haven’t listened to an episode yet, DO IT!! If you have already tried it, why the heck are you reading this? You should be listening to June Womansplain why The Hey Vern guy is sexy with his hair slicked back. You know... classic comedy! Lol! In all seriousness, it’s a really good show. They are well produced and have a bevy of great guests. I love it! Five stars!! :)
Love the podcast. Listened to a few for free on here and then signed up for Earwolf to get the past episodes. I have friends that I’ve watched “bad” movies with for almost 20 years and we’ve watched most of the movies that HDTGM goes through multiple times. I really miss June in some of the later episodes, but love when she’s there. Paul and Jason are amazing as well! Paul holds it all together and Jason is just amazingly ridiculous, my favorite. If you love bad movies and people talking about them, listen. 5 stars!! “Hey Alexa, buy The House on Blu-ray.”
This is a pretty funny podcast. The hosts feed off one another very well. Only bad thing I can say is sometimes the guest and one of the hosts likes to talk politics out of no where. Otherwise this podcast rocks
Wow! This pod grows on you like a mushroom on a log. I can’t stop listening. Binge coming up I think.
Awesome podcast, but there are SO many ads included in every episode. I understand the hosts are all working actors, and are insanely busy, but I wish they'd go back to doing the occasional studio recording and not just live shows.
These three + guests are hilarious, but the episodes with June are the best. If I were to host a cocktail party, these three would be on the guest list.
Awesome show it’s hilarious Paul Scheer and Jason mantzoukas are fantastic
Best if you watch the movie beforehand though!
Every episode, whether I've seen the movie they are covering or not, has me laughing hysterically. I can't recommend this more. It's my second favorite podcast after James Bonding.
great show. jason m. is great. paul and june too. i just listened to the no holds barred episode...casual murder is hilarious
Film Sack is much better
Good show; intriguingly funny at times. Paul gets talked over sometimes and I hate that they delete some of the older episodes. Keep ALL the episodes up guys don’t switch them from available to non-available (I see the merit in it but it’s frustrating)
Paul, Jason and June are so hilarious together. I blurt laugh so much during the podcasts. I'm sure people around me think I'm insane because I'm crying with laughter. I've become a fan of the Fast & the Furious movies based on their reviews. Definitely a way to forget about the terrible state of the world for a little while. Thanks for the fun!!!
I love this podcast, I wish it came out everyday! It’s amazing, these guys are hilarious....the chemistry they have is off the charts. Please never go away! I love you guys! A+
Such a good show all based on bad movies. There is balance in the universe.
Good idea for podcast but hosts are not funny enough to sustain it.
This is the first podcast that I ever listened to. Even after 5 years and many other podcast discoveries, this remains my favorite podcast of all time. I listen to episodes of HDTGM over and over and they make me laugh over and over. Five stars doesn’t do this justice!!! Get involved.
Sh&t talking about terrible movies is one of my most cherished activies and this just legitimized something I've been doing privately for years. Thank you!!!!
Of all the podcasts I’ve listened to, HDTGM is by far my favorite. Consistently funny and entertaining.
I'm a big golly-gosh weenie and wince when I hear something insulted, but this is one of my very favorite shows. The hosts have so much fun together and find something to celebrate in every movie, and I love the running jokes and connections they build the longer the show continues. There's definitely a reason this is a star of the podcast medium! I've recommended it to tons of people.
Great show. Look forward to it every week
I lie in a ditch by the side of the Hwy and pretend to be dead while waiting the excruciatng two weeks for a new ep.
Love, love, love! Please do August Rush and Two Moon Junction and Rich Girl.... and can I be a call-in guest? If you never ask.... ❤️ you Jason, June and Paul!
I have been having so much fun with this.
Great podcast, all three of them play so well off each other. My personal favorite so far has been “Miami connection”
One day there may be a show about how this podcast actually "got made" #meta
One of the best podcasts about bad movies for people who love good movies.
Jason, Paul, June and guest are making life just a little more bearable during the Trump administration. Thank you for your service.
Every time I listen to this podcast by spirit is lifted. Jason you are best, June always believing the best, Paul reminds me of my brother in the best way! It’s nice to no other people waste time watching the best and worst movies ever
This is one of the first podcasts I got into. I’m still listening all these years later. I’ve watched a few of the movies they’ve reviewed and figured out that it’s more fun to let the hosts watch the movies and hear them yell about them rather than watching myself.
Lots of laughs.
Every episode has me laughing. Great podcast!
Get it, listen to it. Been a fan for a while listening on my windows phone, speaking of, how did this get made? But now that I have a iPhone I can continue listening. I am currently writing this while battling a fever and making pee come out my butt. TMI. I will look back on this review 10 years later and laugh
Some of the episodes were amazing, but the cohosts occasionally get full of themselves and too focused on inside ball.
This podcast is just excellent. A great way to pass the time. Perfect for listening to while doing some chores or remedial work, and especially long drives in the car. Easily one of my top fave podcasts, it always makes me laugh until tears are threatening to fall from my eye caverns. Good job y’all.
If you love bad movies and love to laugh this is the podcast for you, I'm not sure if I should be scared that I already own so many of the movies they review.
Title says it all. Great every time. I’ve listened to every episode multiple times.
Love this podcast. It's one of my absolute favorites. Saw it live and it was so worth the 6 hour drive.
So many comedy podcasts are unfocused and just ramble on for an hour. The premise of watching terrible movies is a vehicle to some of the most entertaining banter you'll get to listen to. It's always funny, it's always engaging and I repeat episodes and never tire of the group.
Love this podcast. Nice way to break up the day.
It's a fun listen and goes good with a pocket dog. What's up jerks?!?!??
I usually listen to podcasts when I’m ready for bed and tend to drift off before they finish, but no more. I was listening to Jason X last night and could not believe how hilarious it was. I don’t listen to many podcasts, but the ones i listen to I really like. This however is the only one I feel I would make an effort to see live (and I listen to My Favorite Murder and We hate Movies...both of which I enjoy immensely). Paul, Jason and June are such accomplished live performers and you genuinely feel they know exactly what you were/are thinking about the movie. I’ve not even watched most of the movies they’re talking about and I still feel their bewilderment (What is Jason?), their anger (WHAT IS JASON?!?!) and their pain. Now I have to go back thru the archives. I suspect I have found the podcast that I will continue to listen to for years!
I love this podcast. I tell every podcast listener I know about it. It’s funny, smart, and awesome.
I have listened to every episode probably 6 times. It started as a way to stop my mind running when I was trying to fall asleep in law school, and now I just listen to them repeatedly for fun. Wish they put out one each week. These guys are the best.
Listening to HDTGM is like hanging out with that unicorn friend who, not only doesn't stare in horror as you list your favorite movies, but also shares your passion for these so-bad-but-entertaining films. These. Guys. Get it. P.s. The live shows are my favorite.
This podcast never lets me down. Always funny and interesting, keep up the amazing work!
I love this podcast so much, and constantly laughing as I listen. The only problem I have, is once I introduced it to my boyfriend, I now can’t listen to it without him because he is now also obsessed too, and we have to listen together on my day off. We are both obsessed with movies, he has his degree in film, and so every episode also leads to long conversations and debates.
If you can only listen to one podcast, it has to be HDTGM! Paul, June and Jason are stellar and always have wonderful guests on their podcast. The fact that this is free to us is completely shocking! We all must bask in the comedic genius and “Scheer” entertainment of this podcast.
Love this show! You guys are all so funny and I could listen to you all day long!
I love this show. Paul is so funny, Jason is ridiculously funny as well, and I love June in everything I have ever seen her in. The guests are amazing, basically the list of everyone I think is funny in the business. The movies are terrible.
I Like Chocolate Milk
So I was walking down the street with my earbuds in, when I decided I would start the Fast and Furious 8 podcast. And less than a minute into the episode I was making a fool of myself. God! People probably thought I was insane! Laughing like a seal on blow. But nope I was just listening to a podcast. My real shame came as the opening song was drawing to a close, it wasn’t necessarily the song but rather the laughing of the hosts. And that’s when it happened. The show itself isn’t that great. I mean, you don’t get in-depth movie knowledge from this. In fact I’m pretty sure most of the facts are researched on the spot from google. But the interactions and banter make up for the complete lack of preparation. So, I hope you are happy Paul and Jason, you made it happen. You made me shart my shorts. 5 stars
Terrible movies and hilarious hosts make this one of my favorite podcasts of all-time and I listen to a LOT of podcasts! After first listening to the Jupiter Acending episode I now seek out the movies featured and subject myself and friends to these cinematic disasters so I can then enjoy Paul, Jason, and June's takes. I'm actually throwing a The Room viewing tonight. Afterward I plan on directing everyone to listen to the HDTGM episode!
Paul, June, and Jason and guests come together for a hilariously entertaining review of ‘bad movies’. The best free entertainment ever unleashed!
I wish this was everyday.
But stop pronouncing Ninja wrong. Also: more June, please.
I only wish the episodes were longer. Best part of my podcast week.
The best part of Friday mornings.
I love this podcast but I haven't seen enough of these horrible movies they review. It's great when they hit a movie I know well but I am still laughing when I haven't seen the movie. Thanks Jerks
Paul, June and Jason are great together. They have perfect chemistry, yet they manage to add guests who complement them and make the show even better. Their movie selections are great, although they’re hilarious, no matter what movie they discuss.
This is just the best podcast EVER. Paul, June, and Jason are literally my three favorite people. Commentary is great, even when they go on tangents and I find myself laughing out loud in my car all the time. If I could give this podcast 100 stars I would. Love you guys and keep up the good work!
HDTGM is one of those podcasts I just sort of roll with no matter what, but it's starting to feel a little rote. Some times you get a dud movie, some times you get a dud guest. If June isn't on the episode I feel a little gypped. I skip the minisodes.
June, Paul and Jason are 3 of the funniest people I have ever listened to. I could listen to them banter forever! I look forward to their hilarious re-caps every week and I'm dying to go to a live show. Come to Houston!
Jason, Paul & June w guests each episode make talking about bad movies a hilarious event. I originally started listening to just the films I'd seen but, ran out of them fast. Paul, especially, does a good job of explaining the films so you can enjoy the episode without having seen the film. It is like talking about movies with some cool friends (I'm guessing, I don't have any). I've told a number of uncool friends about HDTGM and they are all as obsessed as I am. I'm seeing them in Boston in a few weeks and I'm anticipating it like I was going to see a great live band. My only fear is that this review is a Jacob's Ladder scenario and I'll never find out what exactly is a street fighter.
Jason, Paul and June are my everything!! I've been a fan for a long time. They are so funny, sweet, and you get introduced to more hilarious terrible movies than you can imagine. Listen and you won't regret it...
One of the funniest podcasts I’ve listened to. The only downside is the fact that the episodes are improved 1000 fold by watching the movie beforehand, which is usually pretty painful. But it also raises my respect for these three for putting themselves through it.
I just discovered this podcast about a month ago and I’ve been running through all the episodes where they covered movies I’ve seen. And I’ve been watching some movies that I haven’t seen, so I can better enjoy the podcasts where they discuss those movies. I absolutely love it. Paul June and Jason are all great. I am a big fan. Especially June, because of Burning Love.
I used to be a fan of this show. But every time they, or more often their guests, decide to abandon the film aspect of the show and turn to a rant about politics, I skip it. Needless to say, after the 2016 election, I haven't made it through very many episodes.
I’ve just gotten into podcasts this summer, and this one is my favorite! Paul, June and Jason are perfect together and bring so much joy and shine a light on so many great bad movies!
Great podcast. The three play off of each other really well. I enjoy their comedic stylings. Highly recommended.
