Best show! Always look forward to new episodes and digging into the back catalog.
Love the cast and show! Keeps me laughing all day :) Huge crush on Jason :)
June makes the best points but y’all just plow right over her. It’s so annoying. It’s a good podcast but LET JUNE TALK.
Three funny and amazing people! Great show!
Like movies? Hate long commutes? This podcast is for you. These three dig into every inane turn these terrible movies offer up and clearly have a great time doing it.
But funny I guess
For years I wanted to have my own show called, “Who green-lighted this crap!” Reality is.....these guys can just plain do it better!
The best always
Because I listen to this hilarious show obsessively, I find myself reading any and everything review-wise this Jason’s voice. Thank you jerks.
Woah woah stop the clock...This is my new favorite podcast. If you haven't seen the movie it is still hella entertaining but if you have...it makes it that much better. Jason, Paul, and June have great chemistry. The live shows are so much fun. The guests are all great. Nerd alert!!! I love this show so much and am so behind I have actually made a list of movies to watch prior to the shows so I can get the full experience! Ps There is at least one Howard reference basically ever episode if you are a huge Stern fan like Paul and Jason are. Out of 70 I give it a 69!!
I’m sorry that I just found out about this podcast a few weeks ago. Catching up here and on stitcher! Love the show and look forward to each episode!
... and I am loving every minute of it. You may have saved my life, with this podcast. My commute is the length of an episode. I don’t even bother rewatching the movies, because your descriptions bring the memories flooding back, but with a new cringeworthy feel.
What the title says
I’ve been following this podcast every week for over five years, and I still look forward to every Friday when a new episode is released. The best thing about this cast is that they dig so deep into these awesomely awful films, it’s not really required that you watch them (though will you for sure want to at least YouTube a lot of the scenes after). Thank you June, Paul, Jason, and Nick Cage.
You’ll piss yourself with laughter and have a reason to go back and watch some of these god awful movies. Paul, Jason, June thank you for making my morning and evening commute that much easier, well now that I’ve switched to depends.
I just discovered this podcast it’s really funny a bit twisted Truly entertaining great job looking forward to future episodes
I’ve only listened to four episodes so far, but they’ve all been really funny. If you’re listening at work, use earphones as there is some R-rated content.
One of the first podcasts I started listening to and still one of the best
A bunch of pods try to do the same routine, but HDTGM stands head-and-shoulders above all of them. I binge-listen every time the paywall cycles through!
I disagree strongly with your decision to attempt to force me to pay for episodes that may be 5+ years old, some of which are true classics. Your live shows don’t measure up to the early discussions you had.
Long time first time. Love the pod cast the comments, feedback, and critiques are attic above top shelf! Reason I lowered from a 5 star is that Paul forced his other podcast Unspooled onto this podcast. If I wanted to hear that podcast you know what I would do??? Download or subscribe. Paul please stop trying to force feed your the other podcast. There is a reason I don’t eat cookies and cream ice cream onto of my chicken fried chicken. Now if you have June and Jason on I will listen...
I was a very early listener of HDTGM, and over time, I can now only listen occasionally. While Jason and June (and most guests) remain great, Paul’s interruptions of anything funny with pointless minutiae that no one cares about but him kills it for me every time. If the show is a runaway train of funny, he is the brakes. The 3 stars are for the times he isn’t interjecting meaningless comments. The show was better when he was essentially setting up the plot for others to comment on.
I’ve listened and enjoyed for years but the fatigue is starting to set in a bit.
y’all are fantastic and have come a long way. thank you
...Paul, not so much. I appreciate Paul’s work and love this show. But where Jason and June KILL IT EVERY TIME, getting huge laughs, Paul sounds like the not-funny friend in the room that gets pity laughs. There have been a few times when Jason has nailed a genuinely funny joke and Paul tries to embellish or add to it and it just falls flat. Also, the advertisements narrated by Paul are painful. Otherwise the show is awesome.
This show gives me so much joy! Albeit this joy is derived from the pain of suffering through so many bad movies. I mean like really terrible, terrible movies. These movies had it coming. Jason, Paul and June are the arbiters of the audience's revenge and each plays a worthy, hilarious role in the savagery of the movie. Like the Three Amigos, only I don't know who's Chevy Chase. The guests are always great and the live shows have some of the best audience produced theme songs of any podcast. Listeners of this podcast are talented! I hope the show never ends.
Hilarious pod cast.
Crazy about this podcast, love listening.
Love, love, LOVE! Every time I listen to HDTGM it makes me laugh (usually out loud...which is super embarrassing because I generally listen to it with headphones in 😂) It's a fantastic stress reliever! Thank you HDTGM!
I’m addicted to this show now I haven’t listened to anything else in almost two weeks. It’s like crack for my ears, send help, I can’t quit. #howisjasonsingle
Every episode kills me this thing is so funny I hope it goes on for ever
I listened years ago stopped after a while. Came back to it recently and man did i miss this, laughs a plenty from Jason and Paul. June is the calming voice in a sea of madness making it overall fun and free. Do yourself a favor and listen.
I love / hate this podcast. Why can’t they produce more of them? Why can’t they review Meet The Feebles? You should watch. It’s great.
Stumbled on this podcast and really enjoy it so far. The episode about The Room sealed the deal for me! Really like the guests they bring on, too. Def. worth trying! I’m loving the laughs on my long commute. Keep up the great work you three!
I hope you guys review the last Sharknado movie. The shark witch is my favorite character in this movie.... Bye!..........
Love this show, thanks
You guys have to review Watermelon haste
How? Who is this person? Do they hate movies or comedy? Or maybe they were hard of hearing and didn’t realize podcasts were an audio medium? Either way what a sad sad soul.
Don’t need to see the movies to enjoy the humor. Proving that bad movies get better with age.
Paul’s unfunny, Jason’s screaming has gotten old, and June is only around half the time. HDTGM was my favorite podcast for years, but it feels like a shadow of its former self. Also, Paul’s ad-reads are absolutely agonizing. A real bummer.
This is one of my favorite podcasts. It makes me love bad movies, even the ones I have not seen.
Funniest and best of the "discuss bad movies" podcasts - my favorite genre.
The three hosts of HDTGM really work together flawlessly. They play off each other’s strengths and weaknesses so well and make a great comedic team. GEOSTORM!
This is by far my favorite podcast! Paul, June and Jason are some of the funniest people. Listening to their take on these movies makes me laugh out loud!
My friend Phong Ho turned me onto this podcast after I showed him the Youtube sensation Good Bad Flicks. This podcast is amazing and addictive. I have to continuously cut myself off from it, because it takes over my life. First ep I watched: Perfect (that was the name of the movie). Favorite ep: Tie between Tango and Cash and No Holds Barred. Episode where I realized I had a lot in common with Jason M.: Face/Off. Episdoe where I realized I had a lot in common with Paul:.....I don't remember which episode it was, but in it, he referenced the fact that he used to record movies on audio tape and listen to them on his Walkman, specifically the Hines-Crystal classic Running Scared. Episode I turned off: Lake Placid. Sorry, it seemed like there was going to be some Bill Pullman bashing, and I can't have that. Episode where I cried: Masters of the Universe. Thanks, June.
This is a very silly and fun podcast. I love that I have added this to my regular listening. I give this podcast 5/7 perfect score!!
3 funny people and more talk bad movies.
Most mornings, I wake up thinking, “Fuck. I haven’t died yet.” But when I see I’ve got a new ep of HDTGM, I think, “Yay.” Thanks!
Can a podcast make you want to see a really bad movie? This one can. I’m hooked. This is a well made podcast. It’s very funny.
For the periwinkle in your day that loves something “so bad it’s good”. Okay, I let predictive text write half that sentence... But if you love listening to hilarious/insightful people talk about outrageous movies listen to this amazing podcast!
Paul Scheer and June are amazing, but Jason is a little too over the top for me, and is constantly interrupting the two.
Paul June and Jason are my favorite people of all time!!! This podcast is hilarious and awesome. They've gotten me through dark times in my life and my opinion is that you should listen to thiiiisssss!!!
This is the best subject and the best hosts and the best guests. The execution is always fantastic. Never stop this podcast. It could all be better still because its not all that great stay humble and get over yourselves. Disappointing really. FIVE STARS.
This podcast is my reason for living.
Amazing work from all three hosts, Jason, June, and Paul all work together so well and are able to add so much additional color to the movies that they are viewing in each episode.
Heard about this show through Gilmore guys. They talk about all the movies I loved as a kid. Paul and June are so sweet I love to hear their input. Jason is a great well of jokes, and keeps the show interesting and fun.
I love this podcast so much. Not only is it hilarious as well as interesting, but the chemistry between Paul, June, and Jason is something that can't be manufactured or forced. It is so unique and entertaining!!!
I definitely have a top episode list for this podcast - Halloween 2: Season of the Witch, Road House, Ladybugs, Con Air and Anaconda. Striptease has now surpassed them all and is by far #1 for me. So much love for June, Paul & Jason!
I came a little late to the podcast party, and am now an avid listener. The podcasts subscribe to tend to be hit and miss at times, but the one I’m always excited about is How Did This Get Made. Whether I’m doing the dishes, walking the dog or just sitting and listening, hanging out with Paul, June and Jason is like being with friends. I love comedy and movies, so this is s great fit for me. I recommend it to others all the time.
Love this podcast so much. I havent even seen most of the movies they talk about and still laugh through each episode. Highly recommend if youre looking for great comedy!
I look forward to it every week. Very funny.
Seriously, if you like comedy and movies, you should be listening to this podcast.
Paul, Jason, and June are very funny together. If they review a movie I’ve seen it can be very funny. But if they review a movie I haven’t seen it’s not a very good podcast. They don’t spend enough time explaining the plot of the movie or who the characters are and it’s easy to get lost. Street Fighter and Blood Sport are the best ever.
Really good but just have to get June off
This and nerdist got me into podcasts, and that’s all I listen to anymore. Also I am the Paul of my group, just so you guys know. Anyway, I want to welcome everyone to earth, and tell them about this Mazing podcast
These guys are hilarious. They could literally talk about anything and likely entertain you for hours. The terrible movie breakdown is just a wonderful bonus. If you need a starting recommendation: Con Air.
It totally doesn’t matter if you haven’t seen the movie they’re talking about. Paul, June and Jason are so hilarious and so fun to listen to! It’s one of my total faves.
I first was turned into this podcast on a road trip and it had the whole car laughing hysterically. It made the night drive feel short and pleasant. The show is feel good, and the mailbag episodes between movies are just as good and I look forward to them just as much! It’s fun to listen to Paul give advice. They’ve all just got great attitudes and this show imbues hilarity and joy to one’s travels!
I could go on and on why this is my favorite podcast to listen too. I’ll just say this, I never thought an 1 1/2+ hour long episodes podcast could keep my attention, yet at the end of every episode I find myself saying, “damn it’s over already.”
Long time listener, first time reviewer. This crew is consistently funny and always entertaining. Highly recommended.
I’m just writing a five star review to help you guys out. Five Stars!
I am a mobile X-ray tech and spend 8+ hours a day driving around. Needless to say that I have listened to every episode and mini-sode. Jason, June and Paul literally get me through my work week and if nothing else, this is a thank you.
I absolutely love this podcast. Their observations on bad movies are funny even if you haven’t seen the films. But if you’ve already seen them you will be laughing hilariously.
...because of June’s holier than thou attitude. Relax, girl, you’re an actress. That’s all. You’re just an actress.
It's funny and they do such a good job it's not even necessary to watch the movies to appreciate their commentary. And they smartly include commentary that elevates discussions about misogyny, racism and general bad treatment of marginalized groups — all while being hilarious. See episodes about Striptease or that Neil Diamond movie The Jazz Singer. I hope that they do "Day of the Animals" — it was meant for this show!
This podcast makes watching horrible movies watchable!
As a person who listens to lots of podcasts, this is without question the funniest thing going. It definitely does not matter if you’ve seen the movie or not. Paul always does a great job of explaining whatever you need to know and Jason is just a barrel of laughs.
I listen at work all the time. Almost heard them all! Wish they had more I can’t get enough of Paul, Jason, and June breaking down bad (some are good) movies!
Love Paul, June and Jason! This show will make you laugh so hard that if you are listening to it in your car people will wonder what’s up. T to B, this podcast is next level awesome.
Comedic genius all around. I never stop laughing 🤣 my very favorite!
I love the movies they choose for this podcast. Some of the movies are actually good!
This is without a doubt one of my favorite podcasts ever.
Paul, Jason, June, and their various guests are all hilarious in their own special, individual ways. This podcast is like hanging out with your pals talking about bad movies (some you love, some... not so much)— only way funnier. This is one of my favorite podcasts.
Always hilarious, I get super excited when I see a new episode in my feed! Great podcast because you can start anywhere and you'll catch on quicky. I blew through all the episodes available and I'm hungry for more! Can't wait until they come back to Boston.
This is one of my absolute “can’t-miss” shows. I’ve turned on friends to it, and they love it. Whether you’ve seen the movie they’re discussing or not, you’re going to laugh. GEOSTORM!!!
I’ve been listening to HDTGM for a few years now and it is a CAN’T MISS podcast in my feed. I never miss an ep and even relisten to my favs often. (Looking at you Timecop.) It’s a ton of fun and always hilarious. Do yourself a favor and listen!!
What else can be said about this show? Find a terrible movie you love/hate/both and listen to these amazing people try to disect it with a hammer.
Listened for years but done with it today. June is simply unbearable as per her analysis of striptease. I’m a feminist and couldn’t even take it. “Striptease is a dangerous movie to watch”. Your ego and arrogance are appalling. forget when you were falling out of your trashy dress on Craig Ferguson? I came here for comedy. June is a pod killer
So very funny. If you want to laugh listen to the “Mannequin 2” episode.
Jason Mantzoukas is a majestic, untamable lion.
Whats up jerks. Side splitting hilarious commentary on the best worst movies you’ve ever heard of. Jason Paul and June include there guests in hilarious nonsense banter that will make you laugh and cry at the same time. You’ll love this if you like movies, bad movies, being the last ninja or break dancing is your jam. Please please bring the live show to Seattle in 2018! Love you guys A nd c
I love this show. I listen while I’m on my commute and I swear people think I’m losing it. Always a laugh out loud riot!!
This podcast made my wife pregnant.
Love the show, love the gang, sometimes I don’t even watch the movie I just like hearing them talk about them. They’re hilarious
Look, if you like sharp people trashing bad movies, then this might be for you. But that really speaks volumes about who you are. Do you like snappy dicks slitting the throats of your favorite “garbage” movies? NO!!! ...🤔...uhh...*checks theme* Yea, no!!! Def no! Nope, no. All they do is invite their “very” funny friends and everyone else to join them in punching down on defenseless Hollywood and the foreign markets that are more important than ever now a days... I just hope Paul, June, and Diane, and that ignorant slut Jason are all satisfied. Theyve all bankrupted the dreams of a bunch of naive movie folks. Folks from a Hollywood where values are...different. They werent thinking about the money. They just wanted to tell stories; stories about pseudo-vampire radioactive demolition men that can hack weather and accomplish realistic goals opposed by realistic bad guys. And these slick small-towners @HDTGM hooked them up and dragged them for all theyre worth... Amplify your outrage by listening to every episode
So much fun
WITH THAT BEING SAID I would listen to it more if the movies were more well known. I know none of these movies and I am a movie freak. Grease 2 and Con Air were the only ones I remember. I am not going to watch an episode for a movie I’ve never seen that is presented as bad when there is so much good stuff available. So aim towards more well known stuff maybe? Or stay the same what do I know, you’re the famouses.
This pod never fails to entertain. Love it
Even if you haven’t seen the movies they are talking about it’ll still make you laugh out loud. If not you may be dead inside.
Watch the movies before and you will die laughing. Amazing. Just amazing.
This is the funniest podcast in the world, hands down. The three of them have the best chemistry, and their insights into these terrible movies run the gamut from raunchy puns, to confusion over hilarious details, to meaningful insight, and I constantly feel sad when episodes end. I recommend you pick one for a movie you are familiar with and dive in.
Funny. So funny.
Can you guys please do “Mad Max: Fury Road”? That movie is absolutely bonkers. Breast milk to a guys on crack or something yelling about Valhalla. It’s a must.
It would be truly tragic if you never do “Vibrations” on your show. I widely inaccurate vignette if 90 rave culture starring a very amazing Christina Applegate, and the guy who sings “Just you” on Twin Peaks. Tragically severed hands are replaced with rubber ones, then robot ones that play music that’s supposed to be techno? Will it be used to psychologically torture some redneck murderers? Possibly. Do it jerks.
This podcast is what got me going on podcasts. Paul, June, and Jason are three of my favorite comedians. I walked all over NYC and ran my first half marathon while listening to this podcast. I will treasure it forever.
Been listening for years and this is still my favorite show. Tango & Cash and Jack Frost are really good episodes, for an example of this show at it's best.
Even if I haven’t seen the movie I am still laughing and cringing the whole episode and questioning the entire past decades entire decisions in cinema.
I can endure June’s 2 minute synopsis via Skype because it’s horrendously condescending to the audience but when she is a co-host the show really suffers.
Jason,Paul, and June...all rock! Loving every episode. Kudos!
I hate leaving negative reviews, and I love this show! But...I went back and listened to the recent episode on the 1993 movie “Hackers,” there were jokes that made me uncomfortable. It seemed anti-gender fluidity to me. Just my opinion, but it seemed that the jokes weren’t about how the movie treated gender fluidity, the jokes were about the fact that gender fluidity existed. Sorry guys, love the show and all of you as entertainers, but it bothered me enough to take a break from the show.
Great show! Very funny!
This podcast is the best. It NEVER fails to make me laugh and has helped push through some bad times. The best. ❤️❤️❤️
I listen to the show with earbuds in. Every time the "how does it get made" transition music pops in it scares me. I hear it's good for the heart and so is this podcast. Great chemistry amongst the three hosts. June's laugh is the best!!!!
This podcast is funny when June is on.
Look forward to very episode - very funny.
I couldn’t care less about Harry Potter. For some reason this week they reviewed an awful movie awfully.
Love the show, love the chemistry of the folks on the show. They are seemingly quite at ease and off the cuff but a ton of prep goes into these shows. I appreciate the balance of prepared info vs. improv. Both are usually spot on. Been listening since it was all studio shows. REALLY enjoy the live shows. So pumped I get to attend my first live HDTGM taping in Chicago in June of 2018.
...is so worthy of a review by this incredible podcast team. How can romantic dialogue top, "If I can't have you, can I at least have my alligator?" I enjoy being entertained by this podcast, in ways the movie couldn't achieve.
the older episodes are worth the subscription. I love this podcast.
I love this podcast and I love Jason! I also love Animal from the muppets. I’m sure it’s all a coincidence.
it’s just the best
The show reviews a number of movies from different genres. Many times the people in the podcasts and their guests will have the same questions you find yourself asking while watching films. Try it.
I get THE most joy out of listening to these!!!! These episodes actually make me want to watch these horrible movies. My absolute fave is their reviews on Fast & Furious franchise. So. Great.
My favorite podcast. The hosts are the best. The subject matter is the best. It's always hilarious. Everything about it is just the best. I love you.
Scroll through their library and listen up on a movie you recognize. You’ll realize that those movies you thought were awesome are really either A: Not as Good as You Thought or B: Craptastic.
I adore this podcast. Since discovering it a few months ago, I have listened to every single episode, some more than once. Even if you haven’t seen the movie they are talking about, it’s hilarious. Lately though, I’ve been watching the movie they are going to cover (announced a week ahead on the mini-episode) and I’ve found that makes the episode even more enjoyable.
Earwolf is a shill for Stitcher. It’s all behind a paywall now, not worth your time. You greedy pieces.
Let's get right to it - HDTGM is a must-listen. Remember when you had to wait a week for a new episode of your favorite TV show in the pre-streaming, pre-bingeing days? The anticipation would build and build and then finally... that new ep of "Mork & Mindy" or "Good Times" or "Freaks & Geeks" or whatever you loved appeared. Anyway, it's like that. June, Jason & Paul plus a special guest break down movies you may have loved (or never heard of). It's hilarious and insightful, and as accomplished actors/writers/directors, they appreciate the craft while punching it in the balls. Five stars!
People across the country routinely pay money to see these three (and/or) their special guests riff on terrible films. Enough said.
I want to be friends with these people!
On behalf of all of us balcony creeps, we love you and your wonderful content gents. Keep up the good work! @MatthewZirkes
The entire panel is always super funny and seem extremely likeable. I love listening to them recount some of the greatest/worst things ever made and I laugh out loud all the time. Would love to go see this podcast live.
Best podcast I’ve found. Paul, June Dianne and Jason are the best and the concept and humor is right on point.
This has been my favorite podcast for over five years now. Even if you don’t watch the movies beforehand, listening to Jason, Paul, and June dissect them is hysterical. It feels criminal that something so funny and entertaining is free to download.
I don’t care if you’ve seen it and you hate it! You’re not my dad. I’m a grown man and I have feelings. Did you see it? I bet you didn’t. Not if you’re not giving 5 Stars. All the stars in the sky for this movie! Thanks amazon. I didn’t think it was possible but you did it. Kisses and hugs. I love you forever and ever and ever. Paul. Jason. June most of all. Blesses and thanks. Stop and smell the roses, dum dums. ☮️
This show is actually funny. I download a lot of podcasts to try them out, but this is one I keep returning to.
I love this show. Mantzoukas, Scheer, and Raphael bring much needed joy to my week and I eagerly anticipate each new episode.
I always laugh out loud to this show! The hosts are amazing and guest hosts seem to be having the time of their lives on this show. Side note- Jason should have an advice talk line podcast. I heard him on Anna Farris’s show and it was easily the BEST episode. Jason, you make everything better and yes, you and Josh Hartnett are my top celeb crushes. Keep it up!!!!
Been listening for a few years now, and I love how the show has grown and changed into this amazingly bonkers and fun elegies for some of film's most overlooked gems.
I love these guys. They are smart funny and give great reviews. Five stars!
This is the only podcast so far that I must listen to day of. I watch these terrible awful films each week just knowing the payoff will be worth it. Ok, maybe not Garbage Pail Kids, but usually the payoff is worth the pain.
This is such a fun podcast. So great for long drives and hearty laughs.
Put her in a bra. Nuff said, 5 stars.
Makes every Friday that much more enjoyable. June is America’s sweetheart. Jason is a lovable Jerk. Paul is the man!
Best podcast ever.
The best podcast ever! I can’t wait for the next one. Paul FThompkins is sooo funny. He makes me laugh out loud! And when he does the improv with the guests- hilarious! What? How did this get made? Yeah that ones good too, yeah, yeah I like it. I should go....
I don't live in LA and every episode is live now. Unsubscribed, one star. Make a podcast, not a taped live show. Occasional live is ok, but every episode? And I can tell you use many video and other visual elements in your show as well.
The main trio in this podcast are hilarious. Rafi playing himself absolutely steals the show but Paul and June are extremely funny also.
It’s 2018!! And I’m just now starting to listen!! Where the heck have I been. This is the best podcast I’ve ever listened to! Thank you to all the people involved. Mad respect.
Whether you’ve seen each movie or listening to each episode on its own. It is always funny and the subject matter is always guaranteed to be funny. Even the worst movies get some sort of praise and everyone seems to come out better from sharing their experiences (when there are guests that worked on the movies )
I’m just saying, it’s pretty impressive that watching the movie they discuss is completely optional. The hosts and guests are so hilarious that it is somehow truly enjoyable listening to them talk about something you haven’t even seen (though watching the movie does add something to it). It is a goal of mine to see a live show sometime for sure.
The movie suggestions amazon keeps giving me have been atrocious. Mostly because I’ve been watching movies for this podcast for most of my adult life. I still remember when my college roommate told me “hey you like the league and bad movies, check out this podcast”. That was the week of the catwoman episode. Here I am many many years later still looking forward to each week’s episode.
I just discovered this podcast and love it! These three great comedians/general funny people and a guest discuss terrible movies. I haven’t even watched many of these movies and it is still hilarious- a great and entertaining replacement to spending time watching some bad movies.
I can't say how happy it makes me when a new episode comes out. Its weird how much happiness can be derived from some filmmakers failure.
Jason has me laughing love him.
I honestly don’t need to say more..The title says it all. Zoooooooooks
Jason, Paul, and June introduce the world to a particular brand of film. The films that became something other than films. Sometimes they became cult classics, sometimes steaming piles of hot garbage, and still others became Jacob's Ladder scenairos. This is always an interesting, engaging, hilarious take on movies you might otherwise ignore. Enjoy!
This show is responsible for the disgusted looks I get from the librarian when checking out unspeakably bad movies.
Please. She is awful. 500 stars for Paul and Jason carrying the podcast and 500 more for a prerecorded message from June. -999 stars for Tig Notaro.
I always laugh my butt off!
Paul, June, and Jason are hilarious, especially June. Sometimes you get guest hosts that are not funny at all...I wish there was a way to review individual episodes and get that feedback back to them.
A podcast of B-list celebs best known for a treasure trove of short-lived comedy projects of the spoof and absurdist variety who make fun of bad films...sort of. The Hosts: Jason Mantzoukas shines in the “Live” episodes and his banter with the crowd is always fun and entertaining. He seems to feed off of a live audience that results in a better episode for him. Studio episodes find him to be more of a movie critic and find him dropping insider terms (his favorite term being “ADR”)and he loses a lot of his edge and humor. Paul Scheer is a delight and by far the strongest of the 3 hosts but unfortunately finds himself bogged down with the bulk of hosting duties. He comes at the premise of this podcast in a way that he pokes fun at a film but simultaneously makes you want to watch the movie. June Diane Raphael is the weak link. With her catchphrases of “I took issue with...”, “I didn’t understand this...”, and “I fell asleep watching...” she consistently steers this comedy podcasts into unfunny territory. She is quick to point out the misuse of female characters or point out other gender issues in a movie all the while playing the part of the “ditzy blonde” host. The other hosts, especially Jason, often times treat her with kid gloves in a way that almost insults feminism; i.e. the Grease 2 episode. Guest hosts: There is a simple formula at work here: the more famous the Guest Host, the worse they are. Thomas Lennon, Ana Farris, Adam Scott and Sarah Silverman being some of the worst and bland while many of the up and coming comics and lesser known guest hosts have been incredible. However, all of this results in a very entertaining podcast, flaws and all. It is fun and the subjectivity of what defines a bad movie means some movies you love will be on here but the hosts almost always promote the movie enough in a way that isn’t destructive or overly aggressive. Most of the time you’ll finish the podcast with a desire to watch or rewatch the movie they just made fun of. 5 stars!
Would give it 5 stars, but you can’t listen to all the episodes they’ve made unless you pay
This is the most potent unit of funniness that I have encountered. I listen to each episode again and again and again.
best podcast ive listened to, hilarious and same type of ripping apart a movie you'd have with friends. the Live shows are great too with audience interaction, June is obviously the star of the show. I rate this 6 out of 5 stars.
What a great chemistry between all the hosts. The live episodes have a raucous energy that makes me laugh incredibly hard. Recommended for fans who take pleasure in the guilty pleasures of the film world.
HDTGM is hands down the funniest podcast I’ve ever listened to. As a movie buff I love the deep dives into the absolutely absurd selection of films discussed. But it’s the utterly hilarious banter between the 3 stellar hosts and their superb guests that makes you want to listen to every episode whether or not you’ve even ever heard of the film they’re discussing. 5 stars
Love this show! Found Paul, June and Jason from the league and now always look for a way to support them!
This show is so great. The way these hilarious folks take a horrible movie and turn it into a great conversation is the most amazing making of lemonade out of lemons I have ever experienced. If you haven’t listened to an episode yet, DO IT!! If you have already tried it, why the heck are you reading this? You should be listening to June Womansplain why The Hey Vern guy is sexy with his hair slicked back. You know... classic comedy! Lol! In all seriousness, it’s a really good show. They are well produced and have a bevy of great guests. I love it! Five stars!! :)
Love the podcast. Listened to a few for free on here and then signed up for Earwolf to get the past episodes. I have friends that I’ve watched “bad” movies with for almost 20 years and we’ve watched most of the movies that HDTGM goes through multiple times. I really miss June in some of the later episodes, but love when she’s there. Paul and Jason are amazing as well! Paul holds it all together and Jason is just amazingly ridiculous, my favorite. If you love bad movies and people talking about them, listen. 5 stars!! “Hey Alexa, buy The House on Blu-ray.”
This is a pretty funny podcast. The hosts feed off one another very well. Only bad thing I can say is sometimes the guest and one of the hosts likes to talk politics out of no where. Otherwise this podcast rocks
Wow! This pod grows on you like a mushroom on a log. I can’t stop listening. Binge coming up I think.
Awesome podcast, but there are SO many ads included in every episode. I understand the hosts are all working actors, and are insanely busy, but I wish they'd go back to doing the occasional studio recording and not just live shows.
These three + guests are hilarious, but the episodes with June are the best. If I were to host a cocktail party, these three would be on the guest list.
Awesome show it’s hilarious Paul Scheer and Jason mantzoukas are fantastic
Best if you watch the movie beforehand though!
Every episode, whether I've seen the movie they are covering or not, has me laughing hysterically. I can't recommend this more. It's my second favorite podcast after James Bonding.
great show. jason m. is great. paul and june too. i just listened to the no holds barred episode...casual murder is hilarious
Film Sack is much better
Good show; intriguingly funny at times. Paul gets talked over sometimes and I hate that they delete some of the older episodes. Keep ALL the episodes up guys don’t switch them from available to non-available (I see the merit in it but it’s frustrating)
Paul, Jason and June are so hilarious together. I blurt laugh so much during the podcasts. I'm sure people around me think I'm insane because I'm crying with laughter. I've become a fan of the Fast & the Furious movies based on their reviews. Definitely a way to forget about the terrible state of the world for a little while. Thanks for the fun!!!
I love this podcast, I wish it came out everyday! It’s amazing, these guys are hilarious....the chemistry they have is off the charts. Please never go away! I love you guys! A+
Such a good show all based on bad movies. There is balance in the universe.
Good idea for podcast but hosts are not funny enough to sustain it.
This is the first podcast that I ever listened to. Even after 5 years and many other podcast discoveries, this remains my favorite podcast of all time. I listen to episodes of HDTGM over and over and they make me laugh over and over. Five stars doesn’t do this justice!!! Get involved.
Sh&t talking about terrible movies is one of my most cherished activies and this just legitimized something I've been doing privately for years. Thank you!!!!
Of all the podcasts I’ve listened to, HDTGM is by far my favorite. Consistently funny and entertaining.
I'm a big golly-gosh weenie and wince when I hear something insulted, but this is one of my very favorite shows. The hosts have so much fun together and find something to celebrate in every movie, and I love the running jokes and connections they build the longer the show continues. There's definitely a reason this is a star of the podcast medium! I've recommended it to tons of people.
Great show. Look forward to it every week
I lie in a ditch by the side of the Hwy and pretend to be dead while waiting the excruciatng two weeks for a new ep.
Love, love, love! Please do August Rush and Two Moon Junction and Rich Girl.... and can I be a call-in guest? If you never ask.... ❤️ you Jason, June and Paul!
I have been having so much fun with this.
Great podcast, all three of them play so well off each other. My personal favorite so far has been “Miami connection”
One day there may be a show about how this podcast actually "got made" #meta
One of the best podcasts about bad movies for people who love good movies.
Jason, Paul, June and guest are making life just a little more bearable during the Trump administration. Thank you for your service.
Every time I listen to this podcast by spirit is lifted. Jason you are best, June always believing the best, Paul reminds me of my brother in the best way! It’s nice to no other people waste time watching the best and worst movies ever
This is one of the first podcasts I got into. I’m still listening all these years later. I’ve watched a few of the movies they’ve reviewed and figured out that it’s more fun to let the hosts watch the movies and hear them yell about them rather than watching myself.
Lots of laughs.
Every episode has me laughing. Great podcast!
Get it, listen to it. Been a fan for a while listening on my windows phone, speaking of, how did this get made? But now that I have a iPhone I can continue listening. I am currently writing this while battling a fever and making pee come out my butt. TMI. I will look back on this review 10 years later and laugh
Some of the episodes were amazing, but the cohosts occasionally get full of themselves and too focused on inside ball.
This podcast is just excellent. A great way to pass the time. Perfect for listening to while doing some chores or remedial work, and especially long drives in the car. Easily one of my top fave podcasts, it always makes me laugh until tears are threatening to fall from my eye caverns. Good job y’all.
If you love bad movies and love to laugh this is the podcast for you, I'm not sure if I should be scared that I already own so many of the movies they review.
Title says it all. Great every time. I’ve listened to every episode multiple times.
Love this podcast. It's one of my absolute favorites. Saw it live and it was so worth the 6 hour drive.
So many comedy podcasts are unfocused and just ramble on for an hour. The premise of watching terrible movies is a vehicle to some of the most entertaining banter you'll get to listen to. It's always funny, it's always engaging and I repeat episodes and never tire of the group.
Love this podcast. Nice way to break up the day.
It's a fun listen and goes good with a pocket dog. What's up jerks?!?!??
I usually listen to podcasts when I’m ready for bed and tend to drift off before they finish, but no more. I was listening to Jason X last night and could not believe how hilarious it was. I don’t listen to many podcasts, but the ones i listen to I really like. This however is the only one I feel I would make an effort to see live (and I listen to My Favorite Murder and We hate Movies...both of which I enjoy immensely). Paul, Jason and June are such accomplished live performers and you genuinely feel they know exactly what you were/are thinking about the movie. I’ve not even watched most of the movies they’re talking about and I still feel their bewilderment (What is Jason?), their anger (WHAT IS JASON?!?!) and their pain. Now I have to go back thru the archives. I suspect I have found the podcast that I will continue to listen to for years!
I love this podcast. I tell every podcast listener I know about it. It’s funny, smart, and awesome.
I have listened to every episode probably 6 times. It started as a way to stop my mind running when I was trying to fall asleep in law school, and now I just listen to them repeatedly for fun. Wish they put out one each week. These guys are the best.
Listening to HDTGM is like hanging out with that unicorn friend who, not only doesn't stare in horror as you list your favorite movies, but also shares your passion for these so-bad-but-entertaining films. These. Guys. Get it. P.s. The live shows are my favorite.
This podcast never lets me down. Always funny and interesting, keep up the amazing work!
I love this podcast so much, and constantly laughing as I listen. The only problem I have, is once I introduced it to my boyfriend, I now can’t listen to it without him because he is now also obsessed too, and we have to listen together on my day off. We are both obsessed with movies, he has his degree in film, and so every episode also leads to long conversations and debates.
If you can only listen to one podcast, it has to be HDTGM! Paul, June and Jason are stellar and always have wonderful guests on their podcast. The fact that this is free to us is completely shocking! We all must bask in the comedic genius and “Scheer” entertainment of this podcast.
Love this show! You guys are all so funny and I could listen to you all day long!
I love this show. Paul is so funny, Jason is ridiculously funny as well, and I love June in everything I have ever seen her in. The guests are amazing, basically the list of everyone I think is funny in the business. The movies are terrible.
I Like Chocolate Milk
So I was walking down the street with my earbuds in, when I decided I would start the Fast and Furious 8 podcast. And less than a minute into the episode I was making a fool of myself. God! People probably thought I was insane! Laughing like a seal on blow. But nope I was just listening to a podcast. My real shame came as the opening song was drawing to a close, it wasn’t necessarily the song but rather the laughing of the hosts. And that’s when it happened. The show itself isn’t that great. I mean, you don’t get in-depth movie knowledge from this. In fact I’m pretty sure most of the facts are researched on the spot from google. But the interactions and banter make up for the complete lack of preparation. So, I hope you are happy Paul and Jason, you made it happen. You made me shart my shorts. 5 stars
Terrible movies and hilarious hosts make this one of my favorite podcasts of all-time and I listen to a LOT of podcasts! After first listening to the Jupiter Acending episode I now seek out the movies featured and subject myself and friends to these cinematic disasters so I can then enjoy Paul, Jason, and June's takes. I'm actually throwing a The Room viewing tonight. Afterward I plan on directing everyone to listen to the HDTGM episode!
Paul, June, and Jason and guests come together for a hilariously entertaining review of ‘bad movies’. The best free entertainment ever unleashed!
I wish this was everyday.
But stop pronouncing Ninja wrong. Also: more June, please.
I only wish the episodes were longer. Best part of my podcast week.
The best part of Friday mornings.
I love this podcast but I haven't seen enough of these horrible movies they review. It's great when they hit a movie I know well but I am still laughing when I haven't seen the movie. Thanks Jerks
Paul, June and Jason are great together. They have perfect chemistry, yet they manage to add guests who complement them and make the show even better. Their movie selections are great, although they’re hilarious, no matter what movie they discuss.
This is just the best podcast EVER. Paul, June, and Jason are literally my three favorite people. Commentary is great, even when they go on tangents and I find myself laughing out loud in my car all the time. If I could give this podcast 100 stars I would. Love you guys and keep up the good work!
HDTGM is one of those podcasts I just sort of roll with no matter what, but it's starting to feel a little rote. Some times you get a dud movie, some times you get a dud guest. If June isn't on the episode I feel a little gypped. I skip the minisodes.
June, Paul and Jason are 3 of the funniest people I have ever listened to. I could listen to them banter forever! I look forward to their hilarious re-caps every week and I'm dying to go to a live show. Come to Houston!
Jason, Paul & June w guests each episode make talking about bad movies a hilarious event. I originally started listening to just the films I'd seen but, ran out of them fast. Paul, especially, does a good job of explaining the films so you can enjoy the episode without having seen the film. It is like talking about movies with some cool friends (I'm guessing, I don't have any). I've told a number of uncool friends about HDTGM and they are all as obsessed as I am. I'm seeing them in Boston in a few weeks and I'm anticipating it like I was going to see a great live band. My only fear is that this review is a Jacob's Ladder scenario and I'll never find out what exactly is a street fighter.
Jason, Paul and June are my everything!! I've been a fan for a long time. They are so funny, sweet, and you get introduced to more hilarious terrible movies than you can imagine. Listen and you won't regret it...
One of the funniest podcasts I’ve listened to. The only downside is the fact that the episodes are improved 1000 fold by watching the movie beforehand, which is usually pretty painful. But it also raises my respect for these three for putting themselves through it.
I just discovered this podcast about a month ago and I’ve been running through all the episodes where they covered movies I’ve seen. And I’ve been watching some movies that I haven’t seen, so I can better enjoy the podcasts where they discuss those movies. I absolutely love it. Paul June and Jason are all great. I am a big fan. Especially June, because of Burning Love.
I used to be a fan of this show. But every time they, or more often their guests, decide to abandon the film aspect of the show and turn to a rant about politics, I skip it. Needless to say, after the 2016 election, I haven't made it through very many episodes.
I’ve just gotten into podcasts this summer, and this one is my favorite! Paul, June and Jason are perfect together and bring so much joy and shine a light on so many great bad movies!
Great podcast. The three play off of each other really well. I enjoy their comedic stylings. Highly recommended.
Jason’s voice is like that of a sweet sweet angel.
This show frequently leaves me doubled over with laughter, and has opened my eyes to a whole world of wonderfully bad movies.
But this podcast is still hilarious.
Unsubscribed when they got preachy. All the talent of the replacement cast of SNL.
This show! Very very funny! Great takes on bad movies!
Subscribe! Unless you don't like laughing :P
HDTGM is a hilarious mix of adoration, insight, and obliviousness about the best worst movies of the last few decades.
I love the concept of the podcast but jeez people yelling about topics that don't have any relation to the content. Found it a bit obnoxious and annoying.
I'm on my second pass through the entire series and it is even better than the first.
Paul, the way you read commercials is insufferable, but I love you guys and your podcast is so much fun. Thank you for the entertainment!! 💛
This podcast never disappoints.
This Podcast makes me laugh and will bring such joy to your life. I highly recommend listening. Jason Mantzoukas is amazing. You can't go wrong trying out this Podcast. Don't worry if you haven't watched the movie; it won't lessen your enjoyment of the show.
Uninformed, unsatisfactory, and unworthy of your time. None of these people have had any success in film whatsoever. They completely lack the intelligence and creativity integrity that is required to provide appropriate reviews for Movies of any kind. Most of their episodes are live which seems like a soulless cash grab. Avoid this podcast and listen to Yeah It's that bad instead
Very funny and with real enjoyment and good spirited takes on the movies
~ I love this radio program ~ never miss a serial. They do their homework & we all benefit. Bless each & everyone.
Great way to pass the day at work and have some laughs. Love this
They are making fun of good movies. It makes medium sense but I like it, and if you're the Jason of your group then you will like it too. five stars
Paul, June and Jason are so funny that I love listening to them even when I haven't seen the movie they're talking about. I love this podcast.
Seriously when I started listening to the bratz movie recap I was so confused because in my head I kept thinking the monster high dolls & not the Bratz dolls! Thank you for all the laughs it make my morning walk more enjoyable
I've listened for a while and I think this podcast comes from a dark place. It's unnecessarily mean spirited. I really don't like how they mock people's positive reviews on amazon for being poorly written or just for expressing an opinion that's not theirs.
This is the first podcast I ever heard about and listened to, and it is still one of my favorites. Paul, Jason, June and their guests are hilarious.
This is, hands down, one of the most consistently hilarious pods out there. My partner and I love listening to new eps together, and putting on old favorites to go to sleep to. Zooooooouks!
I look forward to each new episode and min-episode. Paul and the other hosts do a great job remaining entertaining, clever, upbeat and enthusiastic. Great fun. A must if you like movies.
Hearing 4 idiots rant about how great fast and furious is gl with that
just got turned on to this. so freaking good! love me some john lovett.
Very into this show. Love the hosts and the movies they talk about are phenomenal. Fun show and you don't even need to watch the movies to really enjoy the podcast. I listed to 3 of these a day while going through the backlog, can't get enough!
This is one of my favorite podcasts. Paul, Jason and June compliment each other perfectly and their guests are consistenly really funny. The Garbage Pail Kids episode (the last one as I write this review) is especially good with Jon Lovett from Pod Save America and Lovett or Leave It as a really great commenter on this bizaree movie. This podcast is one of the best things ever.
I found this show and I'm just so happy Jason Mantzoukas exists. He made me laugh until my side hurt as a guest on Gilmore Guys and now I get to hear him weekly. June is so sweet and Paul is also great. But Jason...he's THE FUNNIEST.
Always funny! Love the interplay between the hosts and guests. Can't recommend enough! Consistently amazing!
What's up jerks!!! Can't even handle y'all.
Hilarious. No need for a second opinion.
This podcast is amazing. Paul, June, and Jason always make me laugh. Great guests. Live episodes are a special treat. Thank you!
Love going back and watching these films after the commentary
This podcast is hilarious! It is my absolute favorite podcast! I highly recommend it!!!
First podcast and still the best I've heard. Start with an episode that features a guest you like, then from there you'll be hooked:]
The greatest show ever made.
I love this podcast so much. I look forward to it every Friday morning. It's absolutely the funniest podcast about movies ever.
It's like MST3K for a new generation. Even though the reboot of MST3K is great. I guess it's its own thing. I don't know. It's funny though. and my name is Paul so I have to support my kind
Always good! So many great topics have been covered....love it!
This is the funniest and most overall-entertaining podcast I've heard, and I've heard many. After crushing on the beautiful June Diane Raphael upon seeing her in a Funny or Die sketch, I searched for her other credits and landed here. Jason Mantzoukas is far and away the funniest of the hosts, but the comedic magic lies in the interplay between all three of them as they try to make sense of sometimes senseless movie plots. Hearing a group of friends discuss ANY movie can be interesting enough (check out the podcast "Hey Do You Remember"), but add this particular group's chemistry and the fact they only review BAD movies, and you're in for raucous good times. (There's also the funny God Awful Movies podcast, which I've long enjoyed, but GAM isn't quite AS funny as this and limits itself to just bad RELIGIOUS films.) Listen to this, subscribe, and you'll find yourself publicly LOL'ing. Episodes to start with include "Sleepaway Camp" (the cast comically burns the first 20 minutes of the ep just trying to straighten-out how the characters are related... and it's FUNNY), "Old Dogs" (a great ensemble of actors stars in a nonsensical story; this is the bad movie which gave the HDTGM gang the idea for the podcast), and "My Stepmother is an Alien" ("Put her in a bra" becomes a catchphrase; listen and you'll understand... and LAUGH!).
Paul, June and Jason are awesome. Love their analysis of the best worst movies ever made. Great set of guest hosts each week. If you love bad movies this is THE podcast for you.
The conversation is easy to follow and funny. Each host brings something interesting. I've seen <10% of the movies they talk about, but it's still so great.
The best part about this very funny podcast is that it comes from a genuine place of love for these awful, awful movies. It's an energetic and enthralling show, and a must-listen for lovers of bad movies everywhere. Each host brings something unique to the show
been listening for years, my favorite podcast
I don't even watch the movies they comment on. I just love listening to them try to wrap their heads around movies that sound, quite frankly, bonkers.
Been to two live shows already and have tickets for a third. Great show about bad movies
5 stars. Second opinion is my first opinion is this podcast is my favorite one of all time.
When I first subscribed to HDTGM I went back and listened on binge mode. I learned so much about movies I would never see and even a few that I saw. I have listened so much I am still amazed that everyone doesn't know June, Paul and Jason. Everyone should.
What's up jerks? Always a great time.
One of the funniest podcasts out there. A must for anyone who is a fan of movies, both good and bad.
Great improvisers plus terrible movies equals hearty laughter and the occasional widespread Wikipedia prank.
Great podcast. Very funny.
Listening to this show just once in a tub of olive oil made me grow 2 extra fingers on both hands, now I can shred on guitar... THANKS HOW DID THIS GET MADE!!!!!!!!
These three are a great team and listening to the podcast is a true delight.
The Battlefield Earth episode will forever be my favorite <3
I love this podcast so much. June, Paul and Jason kill me every episode and it makes the work day fly by.
I get some pretty good laughs out of just about every episode whether I have seen the movie or not.
Seriously, I want to strangle my phone when the ads come on. Paul vamps for like 5 minutes every ad break. Jason and June need to tap in and let Paul just be a good host. Other than that, this podcast is epic.
I wish they would let up on the giants. Giant code is no joke.
This used to be my favorite podcast, now it is terrible. The hosts have lost all enthusiasm or interest in the movies. They barely talk about the plot, they just cherry pick certain moments without any context. It seems like they would rather talk about anything other than the movie they are there to discuss. You can tell they have stopped caring about the quality of the material they are putting out. If you don't enjoy doing the show anymore, just stop doing it! It is really sad to see this once fun and entertaining podcast become nothing more than a chore to the hosts. I hate to say it but I think I am done with How Did The Get Made? It is time to find something fresh.
This was the 2nd podcast I ever started listening to and it basically ruined every other podcast for me. The League was one of my favorite tv shows and when I heard that Paul and Jason had a podcast, I had to listen. Paul, Jason and June are amazing and hilarious and they leave me laughing out loud during every episode. Keep up the great work!
Simply my favorite podcast. I can listen to the eps multiple times. a perfect trio of comedy styles and its just a fun time.
In A Bra
I can't decide which one of them I love more but I squeal every time I see a new ep of this is up.
A biweekly joy to listen to. At least one permanently memorable line per episode. One day I will watch every single one of these films.
From concept to execution, from subject matter to guests, this podcast is perfect. Once upon a time, I realized that the old Ricky Gervais podcasts (with Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington) played to my comedic tastes better than any movie, book, standup special, or live show. Now I have a new favorite podcast to follow in that esteemed lineage. I like Jason Mantzoukas in movies and other appearances, but "J-Mantz" on How Did This Get Made? is my favorite comedic persona/personality currently out there, every bit as funny to me as seeing Anthony Jeselnik, Sarah Silverman, or Norm MacDonald doing standup. SUBSCRIBE!
Such a great podcast! 5 Stars
Love this show but I would recommend dropping the prequel episodes.
I love listening to a great podcast and then every now and they gotta do the work to get paid. It takes me out of it for a bit but it's completely understandable. However, when a sponsor ad goes on for almost 7 minutes, I'm sorry but you've lost me!
If you aren't down with HDTGM I got 2 words for ya!!!! #SuckIt
The movies are over the top, the hosts and guests are funny, smart and completely likable. I smile involuntarily each time I see a new episode is ready each Friday. These folks are the best!
Great podcast, a lot of movies I don't know. But when I recognize one I always listen and enjoy!
Love the show!!!
Funniest podcast, I look forward to every Friday! Jason's crudeness, June's absurd theories and Paul's ability to bring them back on track makes for a great ensemble
This is my all time favorite podcast. I really don't know what else to say. The show is the best
This is the best podcast. Always funny. Always.
This podcast is Literally Amazing!
A great companion to bad movies, creates a need to watch these awful films and brings new live to many of these titles.
This is a very entertaining podcast by three very talented people who have excellent rapport with one another. There are great guests who tell engaging stories about the movies in which they were involved. The choice of films is varied and the commentary combines satire and logical analysis with promotion in a positive way which encourages cinematic exploration.
What if all the stars available on Amazon reviews were actual stars and they were drawn into some sort of supernova? Answer: that would be a powerful and interesting force, not unlike this podcast putabraronit.
Did you ever know that You're my favorite podcast? You are everything I will ever need... to listen to.
It's so good leaves you feenin' for more of that sweet sweet goodness eww weee
Only podcast me and my boyfriend both completely love and listen to together; The Lakehouse was a great movie though! 😭
Lots of funny moments to the show. Not all the movies are bad - the hosts are big fast and furious fans and I actually want to see the latest one after hearing them talk about it
They really kill it on this podcast. Most of the time, they review terrible movies but every once in awhile you think, "Hey, I liked that!" You will usually find that one or more of the hosts did too and you are forced to admit, "yeah... How did this get made?" The episodes about movies you haven't seen are still very interesting. When I first started listening to this, I only wanted to listen to the episodes that related to movies that I have seen. I soon found out that they are still good if you haven't seen it! Good job! (Second opinions is a great segment!)
So funny I even laugh when they roast a movie I like.
Cool beans in hot sauce.
I really enjoy the funny and fast paced nature of the show. Great banter. lOVE June!!
Love this podcast. Hopefully I get to see them live sometime. Paul, June and Jason compelled me to watch awesome poopy movies I never would've watched or even heard about otherwise.
June, Jason and Paul are three of the funniest people working today, and when they get lost in the idiocy of a badly made movie, you'll never want them to get back. Highly recommended for people who want brilliant comeday. Only way you wouldn't like it is if bawdy humor is offensive, and then stay away.
This podcast consistently delivers with every episode. I especially love the banter between hosts and their hilarious insight on these terrible movies.
They are playing politcal activists/experts. They apparently think, like everyone in Hollywood, that no one actually voted for President Trump. They are pushing some website where you can RESIST! I won't be listening. It's bascially the same thing every time "aren't these movies dumb", yea, if you've seen the movies you know they are dumb to very dumb and some just horrible. How about just don't watch or talk about these movies ever agai! That would help you out a lot more than listening to these entitled snowflakes who play make believe and ridicule people for a living, then can't take Trump calling Rosie a fat pig , which she is. Huge waste of time. Not that funny.
The crappy Sharknado reviews (a movie MEANT to be bad) and now the current love-fests from things like The Fate and the Furious...you can see the have run out of ideas. Plus, you get the mini eps full of Paul (I think Paul is the unfunny one) yammering on about his friend's products and filling time. You can delete them, but it's frustrating that this content-less mini-show (and the more and more frequent stinker ep) clogs your feed. I Emailed once to say that the direction was 'off' with Sharknado... I got a really rude Email back. These guys shouldn't have such big heads. There are MUCH funnier people out there.
I heard great things about this podcast but only got through two episodes: Masters of the Universe and Star Wars Holiday Special. I expected that the hosts were familiar with the movies they were ripping on but it became clear that, at least with these two episodes, they had only casually seen the movies they were reviewing. Being very familiar with at least Masters of the Universe I caught myself saying out loud "um, that's not at all what happened" about scenes they would discuss. I gave up.
Has instantly become one of my favorite, if not absolute favorite podcast! You guys have to watch the "Getting there" it stars the Olsen twins and is horribly ridiculous. I'd die to hear your guys thoughts on it!!
This podcast is the opposite of upsetting.
LITERALLY... BONKERS! What's its mission? Zoooooooooooukes!!! Juuuuuuuuuuuune!!! KUMITE! KUMITE! KUMITE!
I get it your B-list celebrities. You live that Hollywood liberal status. I liked your show until you guys got political. Don't need hear that. It has nothing to with these movies. Good luck
This is easily one of my favorite podcasts. The hosts are so quick and witty in discussing these movies that it's difficult to keep from laughing out loud while I'm at work. Even with the most ridiculous of movies, they more often than not find elements that they enjoy which give it more than a "look how stupid this movie is" approach. This one is a lot of fun.
#Heynongman I loved Human Giant, loved comedy bang bang, and I even worked on the set of Sleeping With Other People (Jason was by far the best part of that production, six golden takes in a row improvising I was floored). But this podcast is my new favorite submission to their body of work. If you love films like a real nerd check this out, it's like finding water in a desert
❤️ these hilarious fools.
The live show are unlistenable and that 90 percent what they do. Host (except June) are not funny and too many people try to talk at once. Listen to We hate movies instead.
It's just perfect.
I love this podcast with all my heart! The co-hosts are the best. Their chemistry is to die for. I really enjoy watching the "bad" movies and then hearing the HDTGM take.
My first podcast review and it has to go to How Did This get Made?! I love this show. The hosts are funny and really appreciate the intersection between loving and hating bad art. I've seen most of the movie they talk about but always have to see them again after the episode. Honestly, they had me when they talked about Hell Comes to Frogtown!!! American classic!! Thanks Paul, June and Jason!
These podcasts are very funny, even if you haven't seen the movies they discuss. I also started listening to the mini episodes which are full of funny and interesting content.
Just give it a chance
How Did this Get Made is... The Funniest podcast in the world
The best of the best make us laugh out loud in this hilarious podcast!!!
Listen in the shower, on the toilet, by the sink, anywhere in the bathroom really. Five stars
This podcast is very funny, and the hosts just seem like nice people. The jokes are very funny, but not mean-spirited.
Such a great show...only podcast I have found that regularly makes me laugh out loud! The hosts are so good at playing off each other, the guests are so funny, and the movies that they review get equal amounts of love and derision from every angle. Keep up the good work!!
At one point one of the best podcast out there. Now thanks to the terribly produced and horribly constructed howl network, it's one of the worst. It's previous podcasts have Benin removed thanks to Scott Auckerman and his pathetic excuse for a network Howl FM. Don't bother. Seek entertainment somewhere else until howl thankfully shuts its doors. Auckerman is worthless.
I have been a listener since the beginning, but I've give up recently. The show changed its format a while back where the "prequel" show has a call-in portion, and a super-long portion where host Paul Scheer reads posts from listeners. It's uninteresting. Too much Scheer.
This is a very funny podcast with an all-star cast. Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas, and June Diane Raphael are insanely hilarious and are joined with a great guest or two. They review movies so bad they're great. You'll laugh so hard you'll cry, a great podcast to listen to at work so your coworkers think your crazy.
For your first episode, I recommend listening to one about a movie you've actually seen and preferably one that you have seen multiple times. I happened to start listening right after the Teen Witch episode came out and it was probably the perfect gateway episode for me. I have since listened to every episode and love it even though I haven't seen most of the movies they discuss. They are hilarious. They have great guests. They have great tangents. And I've discovered other great podcasts by searching for episodes that feature Jason, Paul, and June, as well as the guests.
This podcast makes me laugh through my entire commute. I'm a huge fan of The League and bad movies so I just can't get enough. The pre-episode episodes are just as awesome and I actually enjoy listening to the ads too because that's just how consistently funny Paul Scheer is! Keep making this forever. Thanks!
I love HDTGM and have listened to it for several years. June, Paul and Jason have fantastic comedic chemistry and perfectly balance making fun of ridiculous movies with faux-serious movie analysis.
I thought Jason and Paul were hilarious on 'The League', so I thought I'd give it a shot. Unfortunately, the format doesn't suit their comedic chops. Like most comedians, they can't resist trying to one-up each other, to the detriment of the show. They also don't really have much insight into movies in general. 'We Hate Movies' is much funnier, the hosts are more cohesive in their banter and they all have backgrounds in film.
I first started listening to this podcast because I freaking love June, Paul and Jason in everything they do. I was hesitant bc I thought how am I going to listen to a podcast about a movie (many of which I haven't seen). It seriously doesn't matter. You will laugh the entire time. Paul is a great host, I love that June never really remembers the movie, and I LOVE when Jason berates and audience member. Give this one a listen!
Ok ok. I love Paul and June but come on! It's Jason that makes anything hilarious. He's just the best. Please listen to Anna Faris' episode with him. With all that Jason love, I have to say the dynamic of the three is magic. Love the shows. They truly make me happier instantly. Love you guys.
Hilarious. I never miss an episode.
The lawnmower man is a harrowing tale of Paul scheer putting a vr helmet on June to explain what a street fighter is I literally listen to every ep like 3 times lol. Best podcast. FIVE STARS
Awesome podcast!!!! So funny!! June is the best ,I've no idea how Paul locked her down!!
I love bad movies and this show takes them to new heights. Always hilarious
Great podcast with 3 of the funniest people around. Jason is the best/worst. Paul is a supernova of energy and positivity. June is comedy perfection. Keep making bad movies hollywood, we need more episodes!!
This is my favorite podcast. I love hearing the analysis of some of the worst movies by three of the funniest people. Paul is the captain of this harrowing journey, supported (most of the time) by his first mates June, and Jason. I've never enjoyed horrible movies so much. Be sure to check out the: Boy Next Door (Jennifer Lopez tour d' force) and Junior episodes. I couldn't stop laughing. The only warning is, that if you are super self-conscious about people possibly thinking you're insane, because you start laughing at something you've heard in your headphones, while you're in public, listen in the safety of your car or home. Otherwise listen and enjoy. You won't be disappointed!
This podcast is one of my favorites. Can't get enough
This might be my favorite podcast of all 24 I listen to.. I love bad movies and even more so, love making fun of them.. these guys have the best dynamic between them.. truly a MUST listen.. 😴🎙🍻
So funny, keep it up
Always funny, crude, and a blast to listen to! One day I'll make it to Largo. Love you guys, and I enjoy seeing you in all you do.
I have literally only seen 3 of the movies that they have ever done, but it makes no difference. The hosts do a wonderful job of explaining the hilarity. My all time favorite Podcast. Hulk Hogan, Steven Seagal, Arnie Schwartzy, Vin Diesel impressions are spectacular.
This is the best podcast out there. I love Jason, June & Paul! Subscribe!! You will not be disappointed.
HIlarious and brilliant. Also hilarious.
This show is funny, easy to digest, and makes me watch everything I know I need to watch.
Just plain great and mini episodes are actually good now!
Love the concept of reviewing bad or niche or just wildly outrageous types of movies and diving into them. It's fun to listen to everyone's take aways and attempts to provide a deeper understanding of what is going on in front and behind the cameras. Very funny as well without getting off track! My only criticism is it gets too politically correct at times, but even then, there is humor behind it. All in all, my favorite podcast!!! Also, enjoy Paul and Jason in The League.
It's bonkers to me that people don't talk about this more. The star to me is Jason, but June and Paul and their reliably hilarious guest are perfect foils for his exasperation. Want more, but take what I can get.
The live episodes are the greatest. This podcast GETS IT. Come to the east coast!
Love this show. This podcast speaks to me most. So much love to the cast. My favorite podcast.
I look forward to these episodes more then anything else, they are always funny and cover perfect movies, out of all the podcast ive listened to these are my favorite, wish i could see them do it live
Have been binge-listening for a week and it makes everything better.
Every episode is great. One of the funniest ways to spend your time.
I'll be perfectly frank with this review -- I'm honestly not much of a movie fan. When I get the chance I'll watch the movie they're reviewing, but I've listened to every episode and I may have only seen 10-20 movies tops. Regardless of that, what keeps me tuned in each week is the hosting trio of Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas, and June Diane Raphael, and don't forget the minisode episodes where it's just Paul those are absolutely worth listening to as well! The chemistry of the hosts, and guests, and the take on the movie they're reviewing is a joy to listen to -- but again much better if you have seen the movie they are reviewing. Paul Scheer absolutely deserves credit in his hosting abilities however. While June and Jason are hilarious, Paul really does a good job guiding the show forward, and hosting the mini episodes. I strongly believe the better a host is the better a podcast is, and Paul only reinforces this belief
This podcast is still great! Just listened to the most recent show and it made me laugh out loud while at the gym. It was totally worth the odd looks I received.
As I scroll through my streaming services I find myself skipping over movies like spotlight, 12 years a slave and clockwork orange and thinking "I wonder if van damme or Stallone have a new movie on HDTGM?" You guys are hilarious! Thanks!!
This podcast is so funny that I have been crying so hard that I almost blind myself with tears while driving on the highway. Keep up the good work!
Brilliant podcast. I have much love for all 3 hosts, but June might actually be the funniest person on Earth.
Love this show, Paul, June and Jason are great together. Laughs, Bad Movies and Jason's Laugh....Nothing Better.
This one gets the G.O.A.T.! #zooks #dontstopthepodcast
June, Jason and Paul are an amazing trio. This is among the funniest podcasts out there. They make bad movies fun.
In my house, we always watch the movie beforehand. So many great episodes. Bloodsport, Cobra, Gyoo-bee.
This is the one of the best podcasts out there, but im upset that they took down most of the episodes before I could listen to them all. I hope they remedy that.
These guys (and June!) dissect "bad" movies, but do so with true love for motion pictures. Always a good laugh.
One of the funniest podcasts around, just a lot of commercials to skip through.
I think some of you are taking it too seriously. This show gets me through the day and the lively conversations are my favorite part. I love the live shows because I think it's great to hear the reaction of the audience. I'm actually not interested in seeing the movies, but I just love the banter and attempts to figure out what's going on
This is my favorite podcast but I enjoyed being able to listen to them at random and now you limit the ones I can listen to unless I go to earwolf and pay $4.99 a month and that's not cool I'd do $4.99 one time but it all was free... what happened?!?!?!?
Way too much shouting. After about a dozen episodes I have unsubscribed. Am now enjoying Film Sack.
While I'm obsessed with this podcast, the fact that they just made any episode older than six months unavailable without paying to listen to it is absolutely ridiculous and a great way to alienate listeners.
Love the show but nah. I've listened to the back catalog often, will lament its absence. Look forward to great new episodes.
If you see me snort laughing on the subway, this is what I'm listening to
I love the interactive nature of this podcast.
I only recently started listening to this podcast as was really enjoying it and then suddenly all of the old episodes were suddenly taken down and when I went looking for a reason why I was informed that I have to pay for them through some other app. I really enjoyed this program but I don't think I am going to keep up with it now.
Paul, Jason and June bring the P.O.D. back into PODcast.
This show is great, even if you haven't seen some of the movies they talk about. Always funny!
How have you not done Shoot 'Em Up yet. I mean Clive Owen doing his best Chev Chelios. Gotta be done.
I've listened to most of the episodes and the hosts (and sometimes the guests) are funny and obviously really enjoy reviewing "terrible" movies, do decent research, and have a great rapport with each other. The major downside, as with the majority of podcasts, and what I find inconceivable re: this one is people who act and should be capable of delivering the material in a streamlined way constantly use the word "like" as filler. Paul is the worst (although Anna Faris in the Grease 2 podcast was even more egregious) and it really takes me out of the subject discussed. I wonder if hosts ever listen to themselves because if they did surely it's blatantly apparent and could be minimized with a little effort? I really enjoy JDR's input for the most, and her softly spoken exaggerated enthusiasm for certain parts of the movies lends a Devil's Advocate element when you can tell she's really just pulling our leg. Jason is cool, also. The best segment is the "Second opinions" and I now go to Amazon to check out 5-star reviews on other "so bad they're good" flicks not covered by the team. Four stars, with the potential for Five if they reduced the "likes" from about a thousand to far fewer per offering.
These guys are great. I am constantly laughing throughout all of the episodes.
I loved Jason Mantzoukas from his appearances on Comedy Bang Bang, where he brought a lot to the show. But on HDTGM, he's a net negative. He constantly interrupts June, who is far more genuine and entertaining than he is, and he does very little to accommodate the guests. He is all hyperbole and mansplaining on this series. Paul is funny and is the backbone of the show. But gotta go 3 stars on account of (1) Mantzoukas and (2) how many live shows there are, given how relatively bad they are. Lose Mantzoukas and cut down on the live shows, and I will change my review to a 5 star rating.
I like this podcast. But the way they raise their voices to talk over each other makes it very frustrating to listen to at times. We Hate Movies is a better podcast for this reason.
This is my favorite podcast. I love the whole crew.
This podcast has meant so much to me . Thank you for giving this to the world
Still the best bad movie podcast!
Why is this show so addictive? Because sometimes it fails. Sometimes it reinvents the universe. And sometimes it makes the sun shine. Enjoy your commute.
I love this thanks bye
Hilarious!! My favorite podcast ever!!! My only problem is that normal shows are not weekly just biweekly, lol. But the podcast is amazing!!!!
Love, love, love this show! Thanks for all the free funny!
Great guests and also funny movie choices. Sometimes giving a more in depth look at the movie than you would assume.
This podcast is hilarious. It has made me laugh out loud more than I would care to admit. I love it.
Followed this for a coupe years now, it's a staple for me every week.
It's a fun premise that consisently delivers an entertaining look at the Hollywood process. It's strenghts outweigh its weaknessess. Jason has evolved into a highly entertaining commentator. June has largely checked out, but it's Paul who is the dead weight. He mumbles and stumbles through epidosdes, relying on Jason and talented guests to keep momentum, and his commercials are so amateurish that they deserve a How Did This Commercial Get Made podcast. Despite Paul, it's an insightful, even educational show that has more to offer than amusing snark.
A bunch of D-listers (I have never heard of most of them) making fun of movies that each would give their first born to be in.
Having a taste for film has lead me into the bowels of some truly horrid movies but also great movies. Once in awhile an anomaly occurs and a movie can be so bad, it's good. This podcast dives headfirst into those bad movies and finds the gems in the coal mine of bad cinema. All three hosts have a distinct comic voice and deliver in each episode. If you've seen the movie they're talking about the episode is riotous, if you haven't seen the movie they describe the movie in a way that makes you WANT to see these bad movies.
Bad movie podcasts are now a cliche, at best. But this is the one that stands head and shoulders above the rest that was there from the very beginning. What separates it from the pack is it's heart and sincerity. It's take no prisoners funny but they occasionally also do actually get fascinating information on, well, how these things got made. Start with the early episode with Patton Oswalt & the Punisher sequel director. It's engrossing and made me seek out this movie, which I now have deep & abiding respect for. Paul Scheer & June Diane Raphael & Jason Mantzoukss perfectly articulates what's great about "Crank," points out the random cat drowning in the middle of a Hulk Hogan movie, etc. Its everything you want in a podcast like this. So so so good.
my comfort food show, funny time after time, great in person
So silly, consistently funny. Five stars!
This is easily my favorite podcast--and now I've seen so many movies I NEVER would have voluntarily watched. The hosts are so funny and they each bring a fun different point of view on the material. From listening to it, I look at movies in a different, more constructive, optimistic way. Best podcast!
Best podcast around
been listening for years, never fail to deliver the funny, and jason is the best.
I honestly didn't get the point of podcasts until I was told about HDTGM. Most podcasts try too hard to be funny, simply aren't funny, or the personalities are incredibly boring to listen to. HDTGM never fails to make me laugh and I've basically not gone a day without it in almost a year. Thanks for being awesome and making my life better.
I love this podcast! 5 STARS!!
Love this podcast, so funny. Have not even watched many of the movies they discuss and it still makes me laugh. You guys rock thanks for laughs and hours of terrible movie watching!
Just listened to the "Hackers" episode, my first episode of the podcast, and laughed so hard tears were coming out of my eyes. If you enjoy comedy and/or podcasts about movies, check this one out.
Jason and Paul make every episode hilarious and laugh at bad movies without just being mean. But June steals the show every episode she is in. Love her.
I loved the league so I gave this a chance. TBH...Zouks.
Read the title dumb dumbs.
I LOVE the show!! So funny! My girlfriend and I just watched the terrible 2004 cop-thriller-drama called Twisted. It stars Ashley Judd, Andy Garcia and Samuel L Jackson. It would be a perfect episode for you! 1% on Rotten Tomatoes, clunky plot, forced dialogue and zero suspense whatsoever. Check it out and again, LOVE the show!!
If you like movies and jokes, you will love this.
I love listening to this show even if I haven't seen the movie they are talking about. They are all hilarious and bless their hearts for taking the time to watch all these terrible movies.
Literally one of the best, funniest, and most quotable podcasts out there! Do yourself a favor and listen to them all!
I'm the Jason of my group.
The chemistry between the three hosts is unbelievable! It makes for amazing moments and catch phrases that live on forever and will infect your day-to-day life!
This is the most fun podcast for movie lovers!!
Love this podcast & espeically love these 3 hosts together. I listen & love all the episodes, even the ones in which I hadn't seen the movie. And it's mostly because of the great chemistry between Paul, June Diane & Jason! Hiarious!
All three of you are equally talented, and I love you guys being yourselves!!!! I wish you would do even more!! There are so many more bad and horrible movies that I think you guys would love and hate!!! And I can't wait for more!! Give me more!!
It makes every Friday better, I love this show. Five stars.
This podcast got me into podcasts. 5 stars.
Stumbled onto this podcast and it quickly became a favorite for my wife and I to listen to. Even for movies we don't know. Just entertaining. What else do you need?
JUST found this podcast, and I'm loving it. The hosts are fabulous! June is endearing, and her comedic timing is flawless. Paul and Jason's humor turned me on to FX's The League, which I'm binging. Jason, I think I'm love; holler if you're single.
I love this Podcast. It makes me laugh out loud all the time. I greatly anticipate every new episode.
This is the funniest podcast I've ever come across on the Earwolf network (or anywhere) and if you start listening I guarantee you'll get hooked!
If I want to listen to three people yell over each other, I'll listen to fox news
If you like movies you have to have this podcast in you library. Paul,Jason,June, and their guest make bad movies seem so good! Five stars!
Very funny podcast put on by some very funny people. I was fans of Paul and Jason from their work in The League. If you like The League and would enjoy Rafi turned down from a 19 to an 8, you will love this podcast.
This podcast is great. This group is great. I only wish episodes came out more often! I love when they do movies in theaters-I saw After Earth specifically because they did an episode about it! I hope they will come to the SF Bay Area soon, I'd love to see a live show.
I used to only listen to the episodes of movies I've seen, but then I realized I love hearing Jason, Paul, and June talk about anything, even if I'm not familiar with it.
The podcast is chaos already and then Paul cuts in mid sentence literally 4 times an episode to read advertising. Come on man...
Full disclosure: I skip the mini-episodes so I'm talking about the full cast ones in this review. Love this podcast with a passion, want to see it live someday. 95% of the episodes are pure gold; hilarious beginning to end; the dynamic between Paul, Jason and June feels natural and makes them a comedy trio to be reckoned with. Jason is the heavy weight, every time he speaks I laugh; I've developed a Pablovian reflex to his voice at this point and started watching The League because of the podcast because I can't get enough of Jason's comedic style. Stay off Twitter. Paul serves as the conductor, tying to keep the conversation flowing while throwing in his own funny jokes. He's often the "straight man" the others play to but he's the driving force behind the whole thing and a hilarious comedian as well. June is often the MVP even if she doesn't have as many funny jokes and zingers as the other two; she knowingly and purposely is often the setup (or target) for a Jason or Paul joke and is a great sport about it; most of the great running jokes on the podcast are thanks to her serving as a conduit for them. Recommend for everyone, 5 stars, I wish my name was Jason.
I laugh all the way through every time. I'm sure it's lots of fun to watch the movies they tear up prior to listening the show, but I never do, and I get a kick out of it all the same. The live shows are my faves, but as long as Paul, June, & Jason are all there, you're looking at a pretty solid episode. If you enjoy the jokes on The League, you'll probably dig this too. Enjoy!
