Aggregated reviews for Jonah Raydio

Proud progenitor of #thegreatpodcastswindle. Since 2012, Jonah Ray, Neil Mahoney and Cash Hartzell have argued, laughed, loved and gradually cut back on their drinking all while loosely discussing and playing submitted music. The three man team, often with a guest, sometimes without, are constantly pushing boundaries in the medium of "music news" Not since Rolling Stone introduced us to the New Journalism of Tom Wolfe and Hunter S. Thompson has a medium given rise to an artistic movement more clearly than podcasting and Jonah Raydio. And as an investment in the phrase "the best music is the best because it's personal" each week our heroes match a situation, a hypothetical question with their own personal favorite. Past "themes" have resulted in a fantasy novel based on Run The Jewels, a playlist of Beta Male Bachelor Party bangers and new directions for corporate entity radio stations. Jonah Raydio w/Cash feat.Neil. It's not your daddy's music podcast. It's Jonahs.

Jonah and Matt Tour?   (5/5)

Now that both Jonah and Matt have launched successful side podcasts I think they need to take their talents on the road. I'd totally go see a live show with those two (in San Diego). They've done the Nerdist live with Chris but I think they'd kill doing a tandum stand up show. Anyway, love the podcast and best of luck!

Jonah Bing, Jonah Boom!   (5/5)

I wasn't sure if Jonah Raydio was going to be worth my time, as I don't subscribe to the same musical tastes as our host in any real way but I always enjoy him on Nerdist and his other podcast appearances so I gave the show a shot and wound up listening to the first three back-to-back in rapid succession. I even wound up finding afew bands I enjoyed through it. It's gonna be in my regular rotation from now on.

Jonah Raydio?   (5/5)

Jonay Raydio? More like Jonah Underraydiohead.

My new favorite podcast   (5/5)

I've been listening to podcast's for many many years and am a loyal Nerdist network listener and Jonah Raydio might be my favorite podcast out of the bunch. Great music, great conversations, and funny as hell.

Keep On truck'n   (5/5)

Not sure why I titled my review that way... But it has been said. No we all most own it.. Much apologies

Good Stuff   (5/5)

This stuff is pretty good. Discover new music, hear stories about bands, whatever. It's cool.

A Godsend (If I believed In God)   (5/5)

For the past two months of my barely employed post graduate existence I've been wanting something that combines both the vein of comedy and banter that I enjoy from my other podcasts, as well as some great musical interludes. This way I would enjoy all of my favorite things, while day drinking and working on illustrations that are giving me no money, without feeling completely depressed. I had dismissed Jonah Raydio as just another callback on the Nerdist, but I'm so thankful it actually became a thing. I've never written an iTunes review... that's how much I've enjoyed these two episodes. Hopefully these things make Jonah want to keep going so we can enjoy more of these eps. Sincerely Deeply Depressed Day Drinking Drawer

Awesome   (5/5)

This podcast is so good. Jonah's already turned me on to bunch of new music in two episodes. Please keep making these Jonah! One of the podcast I can't wait to listen to.

So happy!   (5/5)

I heard Jonah Ray on Matt's Radio a while back play some songs then again on Sklarboro Country for a whole epi and I thought this guy needs his own music podcast. The first two episodes are great!

Awesome show.   (5/5)

As both a music nerd and comedy nerd this show is basically flawless. A perfect blend of funny talking about music and not too many or too few great songs played in between. ¡Viva Jonah Raydio!

Mmm   (2/5)

I expected alot more for all the buildup on Nerdist.

Really Fun Podcast   (5/5)

I super enjoyed this podcast; Buds sitting around sharing records and dishing on the tunes. Plus it seems to be a great way for some unsigned bands to get a little exposure, by submitting their tracks for review. And Jonah is a really funny guy. Right in my wheelhouse!

Hardwick has an empty nest…   (5/5)

I always want more of Matt and Jonah when I listen to Nerdist, but now Matt has FEaB, and Jonah has the long awaited Jonah Raydio! By the way, this is like the Duke Nukem of podcasts. It was first announced in like, December of last year. Not complaining, though! Worth the wait!

You know, I hear their unreleased stuff is better...   (5/5)

I love the personalities and appreciate VaJonah's wit and whimsy. I think the level of production fits the subject matter/tone of the show. Please, don't change a thing. Overall, this is a very fun podcast and has showcased some really neat music. Jonah Raydio may even turn out to be the "Wayne's World" of podcasts. DAYUM! Anyone else need a Five Guys burger?!?!

DMB   (5/5)

Dave Matthews Band is really under represented in this show. I thought there would be more Dave Matthews Band. Disappoint.

Super fun podcast   (5/5)

Congrats on the first episode! Loving it, you guys are hilarious. My one qualm is the audio quality of the songs, although I know some are probably low quality audio to begin with, but that's it. Can't wait for the next one. Yeah I can. But I'm excited for it nonetheless.

Jonah Ray Makes It Happen   (5/5)

Unfortunately I don't have enough time to do this podcast justice with a full review, but I just wanted to say that this is excellent and if Jonah's will breaks and he reads his reviews I hope he reads this one so he knows he absolutely rocks.

So good!!   (5/5)

Very excited that this podcast has launched! Jonah Ray is awesome!
