Yes this isn’t true crime but it’s still a very interesting story. This one lore and the black tapes podcasts are my absolute favorites!
Not true crime! This is fiction
It seemed pretty obvious through episode 1 season 1 this wasn’t a real true crime story...overdone acting and kinda silly scripting with most characters, but it’s a very interesting story concept. I’m enjoying it very much nonetheless. I’m thinking it a really long creepypasta perhaps??? Other podcasts in this genre do them now and then, LPOTL comes mostly to my mind. The reporter character is the most believable as “real”.
Great story and the way the audio immerses the listener into the story is amazing!
Awesome podcast! Although it is fiction and I hate fiction...this one was awesome! Very entertaining and suspenseful I love I love I love true crime but this podcast did the job and cured my fix!
Once I realized it actually WASN'T a true story, I was bummed but still interested. The last episode is confusing, still confused 🤷🏻♀️ not sure who did it and I have a lot of questions.
Clearly actors reading (poorly) from a script. Presented as reality. Very disappointing and manipulative portrayal.
What kind of Low budget police department are they running? They should all be fired for not doing their jobs. Shady and Lazy police department.
Wow! One of the best scripted podcasts I’ve listened to. The writing and acting were superb!
Not true crime
I legit couldn't turn this off! SO good!!! The day I listened was the first day I saw an ad for the TV show too so it was perfect. Been watching the show and Jessica is doing a great job, it's every bit of edge of your seat type of story. I love it!
This is fiction. It shouldn’t be in the true crime section.
Great production and soundscape, but the writing and voice acting leaves something to be desired. Season 1 is superior, once the underlying motives of the directors of Limetown is revealed, it loses its momentum. The plot twists are predictable and uninspired. Definitely a quality listen, but leaves a lot of potential on the table.
I’m sure this is a well don’t podcast but it’s under true crime, and it’s very much a fictional story. It should be moved...perhaps make an untrue crime genre 😝
I thought I was hooked on season 1 but season 2 is in a completely different format and is even better. U just have to get thru Season 2 /episode 1 because it’s a little confusing because it kinda changed up the format. But keep listening! U need to listen to season 2 so u know what REALLY happened the whole time!
This is an absolutely awesome podcast. Can’t wait for next season. Keeps you on the edge of your seat!!
The narrator does good but everyone else overacts their lines. There is no subtlety.
Season 1 was INSANELY GOOD. But can someone explain the ending to season 2 because I’m super confused. Not really sure what happened. Lots of unanswered questions and that bugs me to death
Once you understand this is a fictional story made to feel like a real presentation, everything is much easier to digest. I actually found it fun to compare Limetown’s delivery to that of Serial. That said, Season 1 definitely felt scripted in the beginning, but that wore off as the story progressed. The story itself is fascinating and had me hooked from Episode 2 onward—if you aren’t entertained by the end of episode 2, I guess this one isn’t for you. Season 2 was definitely a change of pace and so wasn’t sure I could buy in after how well Season 1 was put together. However, yet again, the story began to pick up in Episode 2. This one took a bit longer to gain steam, but the last 2 episodes are, in my opinion, the best of the series so far. Really looking forward to (and/or hoping for) a season 3. Well done!
This is a very intriguing podcast. I stumbled upon it as I was looking for a new podcast. It’s well acted, and suspenseful. But I found it under the True Crime section of Apple podcasts and it is definitely not true Crime.
Season one was incredible! It only took hearing two minutes of the first episode before I was hooked! Well written and dramatically read it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The second season was not as good but still amazing! (However the second season was FULL of language while the first was for the most part clean, just keep that in mind if your kids are around) definitely a must listen to!
Just got done with all episodes on Facebook Watch at the time of posting this review and I just had to listen to the podcast. Wasn’t displeased!
Season one had me from episode 1. I was hooked and I was completely immerse in the story. I felt like I was in the story, it was told so well. Season 2 threw me for a loop and I could not get into it like I did season 1.
Season one was great...I’d give it a solid 4 stars. Season 2 was a different story...literally. It was confusing, not at all like the first season, and the ending was less than satisfactory. I’d give season two maybe 1-2 stars. Super disappointing....
As others have said, this really doesn’t belong on true crime, but(full disclosure) I totally fell for it. Season 1 was phenomenal, but season 2 -though still enjoyable-has so much weird stuff(loud sounds from tape recordings mostly) that some portions were not so enjoyable. Interesting listen, I really liked it. We’re missing a star because of all the noisy tape-recorded sfx.
I loved season 1. I thought the acting was great. The sounds, everything.. then season 2 I got so lost by the 2nd episode. The actual show is great though.
Season one, up until the last episode, was great... everything after that is a train wreck. The second season was awful. Bad plot lines, unconvincing characters, just a mess of a “conclusion.” A great plot/story torpedoed by bad voice acting and mediocre writing during the 2nd season. Oh what could have been :/
I really enjoyed this podcast! Season ONE was great! - had a true “faux podcast” feel of audio drama. I personally felt like the acting was fine. I thought the story line was very intriguing Despite what some reviews say about season TWO- I personally loved the concept and liked where they were going with it, I was definitely intrigued and felt hooked...... but I had to re-listen so many times to parts and felt I was missing something but realized I didn’t miss anything, the story line was jumping all over the place and it felt rushed. It had sooo much potential! But you can feel where they felt pressured to make a second season and threw stuff together. The acting and quality of sound and sound effects I personally felt was very professionally done. So that kinda helps the disjointedness of the story line. I would love to see a 3 season come out! This show has a lot of potential!!!!!
It was extremely hard to get past the “scripted” way this story was told. It almost feels like actors were hired to do all the talking. I’m not sure I’ll be able to finish season 1 because it’s such a turn off and very disappointing as I was very interested in learning more about this real life event.
Season one was pretty good! But season two, I don’t even have words. Bad doesn’t even describe it. It’s as if it’s a completely different show. I don’t get it.
It has been said by so many other reviewers but season one has me so hooked and season two felt like a chore to listen to. It got too confusing to be enjoyable anymore. The abrupt change in style and introduction of new characters without any context was way too jarring. Such a disappointment!
Season 1 was one of the best fiction podcasts I have ever heard. Season 2 is totally different, and just as thrilling.
I enjoyed season 1 but once I started season 2 I couldn’t keep track, and it was an odd storyline. I didn’t enjoy this podcast.
Season 1 was great and I wish we could’ve had more of season 1 and Lia. Season 2 felt rushed and I didn’t connect as much with season 2.
I LOVED SEASON 1! Season 2 is like a totally different show. Season 1 pretended to be a real podcast, season 2 makes ZERO sense, and I listened to the whole thing. Super disappointing. I’m thoroughly confused and didn’t grasp anything that just happened. :(
Season 1 was great — finished it in a day. Season 2 was horrible — I felt like it was directed by someone else. It just felt completely out of place and I didn’t enjoy it.
Zuck is evil. I’m leaving this podcast.
I loved season one, was hooked and it felt like a true crime podcast...then season 2 turned into listening to a tv show. Not for me. Lost interest
Why would they label this true crime?!
This is absolute fraud that this is listed in true crime. Whoever thinks they are being so cute by doing so is either in idiot or an a******.
Title says it all. Seems like a whole different team worked on season 2. Such a huge let down.
I enjoyed this show but the descriptions for the second season episodes, which you inevitably see when trying to scroll to season one episodes, have a huge spoiler right there. You really can’t miss it, so I was just waiting for that all of season one.
The last two episodes of season 2 are messed up. The audio is skipping and repeating.
So season one was really good .. intriguing and mysterious. But then the second season.. it’s like they were trying to stay dark and gritty but why all the cursing , I’m tired of hearing God and Jesus’ names used as curse words, what’s the purpose of it ? And the I heard the “f” word more times than you can count in the second season .. it makes the story unintelligent and just like everything else out there. The story in season 2 completely fell away from the original story , it is confusing and at times boring. I’m very disappointed . 👎🏻
seeing as how this podcast was promoted through actual true crime podcasts, i can see how many listeners are upset to find this isn’t one. i’m certainly let down to find this just a radio drama. hey, if that’s your thing- cool. not mine and, evidently, not many others.
This is listed under True Crime. So wondering why. It is a well-done drama, just think it should not be listed under the True Crime category.
Ok so the acting isn’t the best, but I think the story is great!
First season was really promising, exciting story, some twists and drama thrown in, I was hooked. Season 2 can best be described as confusing? I struggle to find anything positive to say about it. There are tons of plot holes and things that just don’t make sense when you consider season 1. This review would have been 4 or 5 stars if they just stopped at season 1
I absolutely loved this show. It was creepy and mysterious and so engaging. Really different from other shows in that it gets super in depth rather than just relying on action. Not predictable at all, but super interesting.
I’m not opposed to the basic idea of this podcast but it definitely goes to show you how difficult voice acting is. If you’re going to make a project like this, invest in some really talented actors. Two stars because the production value isn’t terrible
Whatever story they were setting up, season 2 killed and in the end none of it mattered <EOM>
I LOVED the first season! Couldn’t get enough. Amazing writing, amazing plot line, amazing production. Just all around amazing and very addicting. The second season was a huge letdown. It’s as if they didn’t know how to end the series and just played the smoke and mirrors game. But they did a terrible job. And there’s no indication of another season. Give it a listen, because the first season is unmatched. But prepare to be upset at the end of the second.
Painfully awful acting. Forced, fake narrator. Seriously don’t waste your time, you just end up angry.
Of course this isn’t true crime... ffs. The people complaining about this are the same people who were angry about the Blair witch project and the mermaid and megalodon documentaries. This’s is a gripping, entertaining podcast series. Well done 👏👏👏
Season 1 was really interesting, although it was quickly very obvious that the story was fictional because nobody talks so scripted in real life. My issue is that the first season built up these complex characters and gave us cliffhangers and suspense and then...season 2 just threw that all out? The second season revolves around a character that the listener isn’t emotionally invested in and we don’t learn anything about her the entire season! By the end of season 2 I just regretted wasting hours of my time listening to it. Really wish that the writers had stuck to the narrative they were developing during season 1 rather than trying (and failing) to be subversive.
Reminds me of classic radio drama, which is very enjoyable. The story is very good, as is the actress playing the podcaster/ reporter. If the acting had been better — and ad-libbed enough to pass as real non-scripted interviews and source material, it would have been sheer genius. But, alas, the listeners’ “wow, why haven’t I ever heard of this before” moment passes too quickly when it becomes immediately obvious that it’s a drama.
Just cringy acting for a falsely advertised garbage
Fake story and bad acting
This is listed under the True Crime section in the Podcasts app. It’s pretty bad and fictional.
You can tell all the interviews are actors and they sound sooooo fake. So disappointed.
This is a decent story, but it is not true crime.
Over scripted and overacted. Took an incredibly captivating story and made it almost unbearable to listen to. It is so dramatic and over produced in the worst way. Just tell the story.
All you have to do is listen to episode one’s “interview” to see that the host has written the answers beforehand. The acting is terrible. At the end the guy’s pretending to be shocked and out of breath is pathetic.
Would give 3 1/2 stars if I could. A good story to listen to— especially around Halloween, but I find it hard to follow at times especially at the end of season 2; I like the campy radio play element and I feel it’s intentional— a nod to War of the Worlds radio panic— but at times despite sound cues it was difficult to visualize exactly what was happening.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this and so far the two episodes on fb watch are also amazing. Love Jessica for this role!!
Title says it all. Interesting story that kept me engaged the first few episodes until the interviews started. Acting and production at that point just falls flat. They sound like they’re reading a script and have pretty monotone emotion. Would be a better audiobook. Maybe I just listen to too many podcasts that are actual interviews where questions/responses are off the cuff and improvised that it makes it painful to listen to something that isn’t.
The story is interesting enough but the narrator’s voice acting is so stilted it detracts. Also, I found this under true crime which it definitely isn’t, so don’t be confused that this is real. A solid fiction - but only fiction.
Horribly done. And shame on whoever advertised it as real, incredibly misleading to people. Call it was it is, a crappy over acted fictional story. I’m annoyed I wasted 30 minutes of my life listening to this.
Was under the impression it was a true crime podcast, which was not the case..
Until I realized it is a work of fiction. Should not be listed under “True Crime” if it’s not true.
Started out interesting but got sludgier as i listened. Took me 3 years to finish and i still don’t get it
The story is solid. The acting makes is AWFUL.
Being listed under True Crime is an insult to victims and survivors...
The worst acting of all time? Can’t decide if the story is worth the bad acting.
Don’t put under the category “true crime” if it’s fictional.
Loved every episode!! Definite listen
The acting is so bad it made me cringe when listening to it.
To be honest, season 1 got me thinking it’s a real story. Everything sounded so real and natural, only thing got me thinking is how does something in real life sound like a movie lol. Season II however sounded very fake...as in very fictional. Like you just hear a bunch of actors speaking that’s to say.
I love this subject but this is just so over produced I can’t figure out what’s going on. We don’t need a trippy montage re-enactment of everything. This so spoofy.
I really enjoyed this podcast, up until the last episode. I feel that it left too many questions and very few answers, and not in an artistic way. The show is very well-written, but especially with the second season I feel that there was so much more that could be done, more directions it could have explored.
You can’t tell if this is a story or a real event. Very slow and bad acting. Hard to tell if these are live interviews or what.
Apple has this in the true crime category. The description is opaque at best by implying this is a true crime series. It’s not. Don’t mislead listeners. It’s irritating
I love this podcast and it’s also worth checking out the accompanying book. Imo best listening order for a newcomer is: Season 1: straight through Season 2: all but the last episode The book! (The audiobook is great and imo worth listening to the one with two narrators) Season 1: straight through again Season 2: listen to it all, you’ve earned it Looking forward to the tv show coming to facebook watch on oct 18!!
Season 1 was good. Season 2 just didn't connect in any way.
This show is awesome and is right along the lines of PRA shows like the last movie and tanis. This show has such good editing and acting that if you close your eyes you are there. Enjoy!
Limetown came highly recommended and in the end I was disappointed. Despite its best efforts it comes across as a spoof of serial and its lack of knowledge of how investigative journalism works is evident making it hard to find it intriguing. The main character is supposed to be an investigative journalist from the fictional equivalent to NPR and not only is she not believable as a journalist this fictional podcast shows it doesn’t know the first thing about producing an investigative podcast making the whole thing come across as cheap.
The way this story plays out 'this whole thing is a bad acid trip dreamed up by an addict' is a completely valid theory, and there is no other interpretation of the story that is more consistent with the fact pattern as layed out by the show. Season 2 is complete nonsense, and it deliberately recasts everything that happened in season 1. Which, isn't the end of the world, but maybe don't wait 3 years to imply that the storyline people enjoyed was just gaslighting. Also, if you're going to do that you should probably establish some facts for the audience to cling to. Technically, this podcast is great, the production quality is stellar, the voice acting is great.
Just the way everything fit and was properly intense every episode. I need another one guys keep it up your cast was great!!!!!!
I just started with the 2105 episodes and liking it so far. The British guy's voice sounds like The Clown on YouTube.
I came across this podcast when I seen the preview to the movie on Facebook watch. I’m excited to see it. Hoping it will give us answers at the end vs us hanging. I’m not going to mention any spoilers here. Listen to it. It’s actually really good. You almost feel like it is a true crime. Sorry folks, this may be listed under true crime but it’s actually fiction. I will say this though, it will have you listening non stop! You’ll be at the edge of your seat. I don’t normally listen to these. But now I’m wanting more. I want more of this story! Hope they do a podcast for the newer book that was released. The prequel to this entire storyline. Season one was great! Season 2 had me lost and listening to it a second time. You gotta pay attention to follow what is going on. See for yourself. It’s free. But I got more than I expected.
It’s not based on real events. Boo
This podcast had me on the edge of my seat listening and waiting to see what would happen next. Hope there is a season 3.
It's intresting but really cheesy acting. Looking forward to the show.
I’m sorry, but I’m all honesty I can’t find ANYTHING to complain about with season 2 other than where were these actors in season 1. For those of you out there that can follow a storyline with complex ideas, sidle hints very early on ..... because if you didn’t know who was interviewing Charley by season 2, episode 2 then you weren’t listening. Season 1. Grabbed me Season 2. Had me sobbing in my car. Don’t listen to these haters. This is brilliant writing y’all.
Boring. “Lia” is a bad actress.
This is a fiction podcast. It should not be in TRUE crime.
I think audio books are great but you can only do so much with a persons voice and simple musical accompaniment. This podcast feels like a book I love reading but sounds like a movie. It’s awesome.
This podcast is listed under “true crime” when it is described as a “FICTIONAL STORY”.
Season 1 great, I couldn’t stop listening, I was hooked, NOT season 2...weird and didn’t make much sense.
Can’t tell if this is real or fake. It sounds scripted and sounds like a movie. I feel like interviews don’t sound 100% clear- I listened to the first 2 episodes and couldn’t take anymore
Why is this fiction under the True Crime category?
Sounds very scripted and the people spoken to sound fake. I was hoping this was going to be a good real documentary podcast. Very disappointed.
This is NOT True Crime!!!
Struggled thru season 1, heard too many bad things about season 2 and decided not to continue.
Season 1 amazing. Season 2 suuuuper hard to follow what is going on. The last 2 minutes of the last episode made zero sense.
Ok overall it was great, very entertaining. SEASON ONE: Was AMAZING!! Even the music gave the goosebumps! Then came SEASON TWO: um... whoever produced, edited & wrote ANY of Season 2 NEEDS TO LEARN TO WORK TOGETHER!! WTH happened!? What a difference! If it weren’t for the very last episode “Limetown” giving some sort of direction.. I would’ve been personally sending hate mail bc I had to relisten over & over thinking I missed something!! Nope didn’t miss anything that WASNT THERE TO MISS! It went from a great writer/producer in season 1 to them sounding as if they’re on drugs & start & stop thought processes thinking WE can hear their thoughts!! If you want this to go BIG.. Fire season 2 group & rewrite it so we all can at least follow the story. I understand we’re supposed to wonder.. but you have to set it up like that. You can’t just be in mid thought wo any sort of direction. For ex: at least let us know when you switch scenes or switch characters. They all sound the same so I’m Season 2 it was already hard to follow especially when jumping scenes wo notice.
Absolutely love this podcast. One of the most intriguing stories I’ve listened to so far. Can’t wait for the next season!!!
Season one was enthralling, making the hugely anticipated second season feel catastrophic and confusing. And squandered. Look we know what you guys are capable of. So what happened.
Engaging enough that it keeps my attention from start to finish but not so complicated to follow that I can’t multi-task (like drive, cook, clean, etc). Really well thought out plot.
Season 1, fantastic. A great sci-fi story, brilliant use of the medium. Terrific verisimilitude with likable characters. Amusingly mimicking the podcast format. Season 2, missing the likable characters. First 5 minutes of every episode are shilling the product range. The actual Limetown part of the story and cliff hanger at the end of Season 1 were barely present. Instead, it was like a bad Jason Stratham movie.
As many others have said, the first season was AMAZING. Spoilers!!! The second season was like they took every person’s ideas and threw them together and barely tried to connect them. Really, really should’ve made it longer, fleshed it out more. There were too many things to follow everything. For real. First everyone goes missing and we’re looking into it... then Lia goes MIA and suddenly there’s no follow up to that? Yeah the Charlie character, I get that. But it doesn’t/didn’t flow very well for me.
Bingeing your show, and love it!!! Hoping another season. Love the podcast.
This story kept me on the edge of my seat. Great writing and production!
Season 1 was great. Season 2 was terrible and not very well acted.
I loved the first season and it did a really good job of getting under my skin! The storyline was great, plot and voice actors were fantastic. Season 2 was definitely a bit of a letdown. I didn’t like how Lia wasn’t even in season 2 and there were several parts where I felt a bit lost in the story. I think they focused way to much on the sociopathic characters than the actual storyline, which even felt a bit unclear at times. The ending...wasn’t very satisfying either. However, S2 wasn’t all bad and sort of worth the listen if you don’t have anything better to do. If anything, definitely listen to season 1 but just don’t set any standards for season 2.
The reason I enjoyed the first season so much was because it was crafted like a true crime podcast. The second season was so far from that, I felt like it didn’t have the same feeling. Nice try, but season 2 fell flat.
First season is pretty good, second is a bunch of boring dudes heavy breathing over how totally cool their sociopathic characters are, and trying to sell you a badly written book. listen to the the first season and pretend it ended there.
The first season was good. Then the second season, The character of Lia just ‘gets abducted’ and that story line never gets resolved. Seems like they lost voice actors and/ or sponsorship and had to end the podcast with some kind of storyline....
It really did got under my skin.
Interesting and intriguing concept but I couldn’t get past the theatrical voice acting. Doesn’t come across as real for one second.
This is one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to. After getting past the first episode, I was absolutely addicted. I really wish they would continue the series or give us some closure after season two... But, the quality is great and the story is engaging. What happened to Lia and Limetown!? Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new mystery podcast to pass their time.
Loved the mystery and suspense of season1, only to loose interest as they change pov in season 2. Season 2 feels like a complete change of story, like they didn't know where to go with the series. Then the finale felt like the standard ending ive witnessed to all sereies cut short.
Ok, first off, the first season was amazing. I couldn’t stop listening to it. The story was amazing, and it was told so well. The second season, however, was quite strange. It had a horribly told story, in fact so much that I couldn’t understand what in the hell was supposed to be happening. The podcast introduced a ton of new characters and spoke with and about them as if everybody already new what they were. I don’t understand what happened. The first season went SO WELL.
OMG! I didn’t know they release new episodes and now there is a conclusion! I’m am going to start binge listening NOW! I almost gave up and then I just decided to check one more time after FOREVER to see if they continued the story! I’m so excited! Thank you!
I binged listened to this the last few days. I love stories like this. Very well written intriguing and frightening (can this really BE happening!). I enjoyed it and am sad season 3 is not here yet and yes where can I find the video!! WTH is Facebook watch really!? This needs to be on Netflix
Not sure why people are complaining about being able to follow season 2...I have zero issues so far and look forward hearing the rest. (Currently on S2E3.) can’t wait to see the show...but have no idea how I’m gonna view it....(Facebook watch? Really?! That’s the best y’all could do?? Ugh!)
I just binge listened to both seasons and I am thrilled by the storytelling, performances, and sound design. It’s absolutely chilling and I hope season 3 comes soon.
When I’m looking for a new Podcast recommendation I say ”I’m looking for something like Limetown.” I’m always looking for the next Limetown. No Spoilers.. so I’ll just say that I was glad that I got to binge it all at once! I would have hated to wait week to week for the next episode. They all seem to end on a Cliffhanger!
I love the style, story and effects of Limetown, my only complaint (not even a complaint) is that I wish there were more episodes to listen to.
I would like to rate 2.5. First season was wonderful and I was/am disappointed that it took soooooooo long for season 2. Season 2 was well confusing/ interesting at times. I was excited that it is becoming a tv show but now I don’t think I will watch if it’s the same writers that wrote season 2. If you want a good story will a really crappy ending then give it a listen.
I loved season 1 and finished it in two days. I was so excited to start season 2 but just couldn’t keep my focus on the storyline - it was all over the place.
First season was absolutely amazing. couldnt stop listening to the podcast at that point. The second season was a bit of a let down i lost focus and had a hard time differentiating characters and i just wish they kept a similar vibe to the first season. I didnt even end up finishing the second season because i just didnt like it very much.
It’s terrible. It portrays itself as a real crime podcasts
Gets you so engrossed in the first season and then the storyline and plot completely fall off the deep end leaving you confused and annoyed. Seems like writers gave up halfway through. Could have been great.
But the second season was hard to follow along with it seemed to be all over the pace
Season 1 was amazing but season 2 is very blah. Very disappointed with how this all played out.
Greatly enjoyed S1, but found S2 to be stilted and I couldn’t connect with the characters.
Sucked in quick when I thought it was dramatized after reality, but once I understood the whole thing was fiction I could no longer stand the overdramatic voice acting , like the Nic silver stuff - Everything is actually the same show after show.. I got six episodes in before I quit
but season 2 is a bit of a disaster....too many righteous monologues about big concepts: like a metaphysical “ west wing”, too many unsolved mysteries, unanswered questions, and not enough grounding in the actual narrative of Limetown. Hint: know the answers before you throw out the questions. Otherwise, we get “Lost”.
I love it. It makes me think of my early days on YouTube watching Lonely Girl 15. I’m enjoying it.
I wasn’t sold on the first episode, but I kept it on while I was doing some chores - and soon realized I wasn’t doing my chores at all, I was COMPLETELY engrossed in the story. Yes, as other reviews say, the acting can be a little overdone, but overall, I think this podcast is one of the most compelling story-like podcasts I’ve ever heard. I listened to every episode in just two days, and so far since finishing, I’ve recommended it to at least 15 people. Every episode is spookier, more frightening, shocking and addictive than the last - if you’re looking for a story to shake you to your bones and penetrate every aspect of your thought, this is the one. Sorry for the dramatics.
Season 1 was so Amazing. Great story, great actors . The writing was amazing. Season two was very slow, each episode was almost the same. Each episode was written by different people so it felt like there was no flow. I really missed the feeling of season 1 . Season two was ok, but left me wanting more from the writers. Almost no swearing in season 1 but in season two there is a lot of it. I hope season three will be good .
Just wow. I honestly never thought I would be into this kind of podcast. You guys pulled me into a new world. It combines my love of murder and mystery, as well as tells it in a different perspective, namely first person. You all are amazing and thank you for the time and effort you put in. 10/10 would recommend these guys!!!
I loved this podcast and wish there was more. I listened to 36 questions first and then found limetown. Limetown is so good and clever and it’s so convincing at one point I googled if it was real. I highly recommend this podcast.
I’m a big fan of the content of this podcast! It’s creepy and keeps you on the edge of your seat. However, the frequency (or should I say “infrequency”?) at which this podcast is released doesn’t keep me as a listener engaged in the story.
The premise is interesting, but the "podcasting verite" style is a little overdone. The main character doesn't quite ring true and dialog is forced at times. The writing and the production is slick but again had moments where the believability is pierced and led me to roll my eyes at points. If you're a fan of current period piece mysteries that involve elements of science fiction, then you may enjoy the premise enough to overlook the writing/acting/plot issues.
The show itself is five stars. However, I’m disappointed that they made us wait all this time for season two and it only ended up being five episodes. It was a huge letdown.
S2 was just as phenomenal as S1. Keep up the great work.
Probably the greatest episode-story podcast of all time. You won’t stop listening. I blew through season 1 and two in a little more than 48 hrs and it had me up last night till almost 3am. Don’t scroll past this one!
I started the series yesterday and I finished it today and my mind is blown. Seriously was not expecting this to be this good not saying that I didn’t think I was going to be good but this just blew my expectations away. I really hope there’s a season three but if there’s not I could see it being a perfect ending for mystery. I cannot wait for the TV show well on Facebook definitely will be watching it. Seriously recommend this to people who like more mystery type things that keep you guessing.
Wow wow wow every episode gives me full body chills! I was so convinced at the beginning that this was a real investigative podcast that I had to google Limetown! So well written and acted, definitely bingeworthy.
Season one absolutely gets a five star rating. The beginning was so immersive that I didn’t realize it was a fictional story initially! And I have never cried for a pig before. This did it to me. Season two is...eh. There were some amazing moments. The entire Glass Joe reveal was incredible! Daniel’s story was phenomenal and that voice actor was wonderful. But...I thought it was a poor decision to have such an unlikeable character as the narrator. The ending was pretty unsatisfying. And I know it seems like I’m splitting hairs, but i kept waiting for us to find out WHY we were hearing season 2! In season 1 you know from the beginning that Lia is a reporter broadcasting with ”APR.” In season 2, we hear Charlie’s tapes, which is fine, but why do we hear her conversations with [redacted]? Season two gets 2 stars, and the only reason it’s not one star is entirely for Halifax and the Bridge. The other episodes were just disappointing.
Very descriptive and almost creepy podcast. If you’re interested in podcasts that are stories, check this one out. Season 1 is awesome and Season 2 is showing the same light to be awesome. TV show is coming soon too!
This was such a riveting, Wellsacted our, well written tale. I enjoyed the ins and outs so much. I’ve listened to it SEVERAL times. I’m so glad it’s here!
Season 1 is absolutely stunning. And at a time when podcast was not as popular as it is now, it’s such a great production, story telling, plot and totally cool idea for fictional podcast. There are some small holds in season 1 that I can totally ignore compare to how well done otherwise. But season 2... oh my god season 2... It’s still great production but HOLES EVERYWHERE. No ending, and the bad kind of opening ending. Don’t know what they are saving a true ending from?! The show??! But now they’ve kinda ruined my interest in the show.. None of the plot line is leading anywhere! Barely answered any real questions left from season 1 and created more that I feel like they didn’t even intend to close. In Season 1, Lia has to explains verbally of everything visual because it’s a reporting job and she needs to explain to audience. And that’s why it’s a brilliant setup for podcast. But season 2 has a lot of narrating that makes no sense in real life and only seems to happen for the sake of podcasting, which is exactly why the plot is a disaster just like that... it’s not designed to fit for audio only form! Also after reading people’s reviews from the book that they are promoting in every single episode, I feel like this kind of sloppy job is like an intention of more money or something not a true thoughtful story - as if they wrote season 1 with absolutely no idea what they want to end the story but did it anyway to meet a deadline or something. Season 2 is so bad that makes season 1 feels like a fake facade with nothing inside - just like how Charlie explained herself at the end.
I listen to about 2-3 hours worth of podcasts a day, and I have been doing that for the past 3’ish years...This sort of format is VERY refreshing.
When I first listened to this podcast with S1, I was interested. The plot became more complex but the writing and characters became so much more amazing. Now, moving into season 2, I can say that Limetown has become one of my absolute favorite podcasts.
Hummmmm, 4 out of 5, keep going.
I really like the concept of this, but it was hard for me to keep the story straight and the acting was OTT. Could be done better.
I loved season one. I thought it was incredible. I’m just not that into season 2. I’m listening but I just don’t love it
Limetown S1 is the podcast that really got me into podcasts. It was wonderfully told, each episode was a great addition to the whole. It was easy to get into and to overlook the rougher edges. I was extremely excited for S2! Then S2 arrived, and it was ... jarring. A total format change. S1's presentation as an investigative podcast/radio piece worked really well with the audio-only medium. S2's abrupt pivot to radio play feels clumsy, especially in the segues between Interrogation Room Drama and Tape Recorder Notes. (Also, who the hell records on tapes anymore? It makes especially little sense when a voice memo on a cellphone is also used within the first couple of episodes!) Now there's a book, and a show on Facebook(?!), and while these things are undoubtedly exciting for the creators of the podcast ... well, it sort of feels like S2 is just one long advertisement for a book and a show. An afterthought. Whether or not that was the intention, S2 is unfortunately a major let-down, a shadow of its predecessor that fails to capture what originally made the podcast so enjoyable. If you haven't listened to Limetown before, I still highly recommend S1. I can't say the same for S2.
**Update* season 2 is much better than season 1! Definitely worth a listen. *Update* Episode 4 was very good and has pushed my 4 star rating up to a 5 star rating. I like the podcast, but yes everything is a little over dramatic. It's very creative though and their first episode was quite good.
I loved the premise of the show. A very good audio drama, well produced. Story line keeps you interested, waiting for the next episode.
I loved season 1. The story and characters were intriguing, with each episode built off of the last. The focus on discovering the research and effects of the tech were the most compelling part. The characters in season 2 are entirely unbelievable, Charlie sounds bored the whole time, the audio is often inaudible and the tech is almost entirely forgotten about. The acting is horrible, the plot is sporadic, and the ending is completely unsatisfying. A 3 year wait for trash.
The work that goes into each episode is awesome. The voice acting is great, the sound design and Foley work is inspirational. None of that, however, can make up for a thin story. In 3 years we've had 11 episodes and several mini episodes that don't tell much of a story, or at least one to really care about.
I loved and evangelized the first season. I’ve listened to it at least once a year while waiting for that second season to come around. Three years later, there’s a book and a tv show and... a 5 episode new season. You had listeners wait three years? For that season? For that ending? It was so disappointing! Castle Rock finale-level disappointing. There was no climax or denouement for all of the build up throughout the season; it just ended. As an avid listener, I felt cheated. I’m excited that this has taken off and the makers have so many new projects and media through which to enjoy this story, but don’t forget where it started. Don’t forget the listeners. Please!
Needs to narrate my life. I could drink a case of her voice and still be on my feet.
This is podcast storytelling at its absolute best. The writing and the cast wove a haunting and lyrical experience together that will get under your skin and stick with you long after it’s through. I wish it hadn’t ended, but I ordered the book and am really looking forward to the show.
Shows of this vein are numerous. And they often fall in to one or more pitfalls: over explaining, obtuse dialogue, muddled storylines/plot points, too many “wink and nod” moments that break the fourth wall (so to speak). Limetown has the occasional clunky moment of dialog (part of the issue with storytelling via podcast), but otherwise this show fires on all cylinders. Excellent and deep but efficient character development. Believable character interaction and emotions. Plot twists and cliff hangers. This show delayed my daily activities more than once at its most intense moments because I was so enthralled. Major kudos to the writers, directors, voice actors, and everyone else who had a hand in this show.
Once again you’ve blown my mind with your amazing storytelling! Can wait to see how it’s presented in the show
I can’t recommend the first season enough, but you’ll probably be disappointed by the second. And the book. The first is a tight work of suspense with a character you’re invested in by the first episode. I’d finish episodes with my heart still pounding. The second meanders aimlessly through a mystery with people you really don’t like, only to suddenly double back to Limetown with little foreshadowing of said connections. There’s really no sense of suspense anymore. The book contradicts a lot of the plot of first season. So good luck. I’m unsubscribing.
Each season was to their own! The emotional connection in the second season was stronger. Specificity Daniel and the teacher! Enjoy and I look forward to more from you guys!
I had to catch myself looking it up thinking it was so real😂😂. BEST PODCAST EVER
Season 1 was fantastic. I could listen to a podcast just called "Lenore explains _____". Max, The reverend, Wynona... such fantastic characters leaning in and just being real. Season 2 was good, but forgetable. I liked the idea of the implant/contact being an awful tool with horrible side effects. I totally got that. But the way it was brought to life sorta ruined it for me. I actually like Limetown less after season 2. Its good, but it's no longer Magical.
I was really excited to hear that season 2 was coming and like everyone else, I couldn’t wait. But the fact that the storyline wasn’t nearly as entertaining left me wondering what happened. I was also very annoyed that basically every other week you left us with a short(very short) episode that did nothing to satisfy the want to listen... but again I did because I was hoping for something amazing like season 1. In the end I rated it at 3 stars mainly because I didn't want to discourage people from listening to season 1.
Second season was worth the wait
Both season 1 and 2 are great!
Season 2 is a triumph. The voice acting and writing are absolutely top notch and all the other aspects of production create an experience of total immersion. A must listen.
What a great story. I have to admit that seasons to start it up a little bit slower. And after bit away was kind of hard to reengage with but by the mid season I couldn’t put it down. The last episode is mind blowing and gut wrenching all the same time. A must listen.
Have you ever watched a show where it started off great and then went downhill afterwards? This is not it. Season 1 was interesting, season 2 is even better. You can tell they took the time to create a good follow up plot. And the plot twist after each episode? Sublime. I just get sucked in even more. I’m happy they got picked to be created into a show. I am not happy that it’s Facebook Watch and not a Netflix Original. I can only hope that Facebook Watch does a good job in finding good actors to everyone!
I wish I could just keep listening and listening!
First season was 5 stars. Second season is 1 star. I give the series 2.5 stars rounded down.
It took so long for Season 2, but it was worth the wait! This is my favorite Podcast ever. The acting is superb. The story is thrilling. The concept is a bit out there, but realistic enough to make it scary to imagine. Prepare to wonder who the heroes and villains actually are.
I found out about this podcast only a few days ago. It was recommended by a good friend. I found myself binging it and caught up in only two days! Limetown keeps me on edge and I find it genuinely frightening and captivating all at once! I would definitely recommend this to others who enjoy thrilling and unsettling tales!
This is such a great podcast, and I was so excited that season 2 is rolling out!! This is definitely worth a listen. You won’t be disappointed!!!
The first season was so good! I couldn’t stop listening to it. I was so excited there would be a second season but now I wish I had never started listening. Season 2 is so vague and unless you super nerd out, have the time to look everything up, and read every source of storyline it will make no sense. I’m wondering if it’s some play because it’s going to be a tv show? I don’t know but I’m super bummed. Loved this podcast. Now not so much.
This was no where near as good as all the reviews said and I’ll never those hours of my life back. Life is short. Don’t waste your time.
This podcast is great and full of twist and mystery. Would recommend it to anyone!
I was amazed by the storytelling in the first season, and I'm so happy to see this one return. This show is full of fascinating ideas, great suspense, incredible performances, and immersive sound design. Great for fans of Tanis, Rabbits, The Black Tapes, Alice Isn't Dead, ars Paradoxica, Homecoming, Mabel, Steal the Stars, The Bright Sessions, or Within the Wires.
The story is gripping and the podcast is enjoyable. Definitely binge-worthy. The editing, however, is noticeably awful. There are sections that repeat in several episodes and there are sections of dialogue that are missing entirely. Like, they cut off mid-sentence or in the middle of a word and the rest of the conversation is gone. Important parts of the story are cut out as a result. The frustration ruins much of the experience.
I was recently recommended Limetown by a family member, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. It is well written, acted, and produced. Most of the podcasts that I listen to are nonfiction, but this is one of the few narrative fiction podcasts that I eagerly look forward to. Dive into the mysteries of Limetown - you won't be disappointed!
Very intriguing and addictive. Not to mention quite creepy!
If this series was more consistent in how the episodes were released I’d be less annoyed
After waiting for 3 years for a second season, the fact that some of the episodes are essentially teasers is ridiculous. Wait a week only to hear less than 5 min worth of audio? Why does that make sense?
You made us all wait 3 years for this second season, and you have the audacity every other week to put out a 3 or 4 min episode ???? Really???? You make us wait 7 days for 3 minute episode... wow.
I was really excited when I read the description of Limetown and listened to 4 episodes. I was literally blown away by how fake and scripted the whole thing was. Interviews sounded so fake and boring to follow- would not recommend.
I wish it had been clearer that it was a fiction podcast in the description.
Love this story
I was very excited to listen to this podcast until I realized that everything is made up
It’s so good. Binged the entire first season in one morning.
The story is good but the pacing and voice acting is poor. I have a hard time taking it seriously because the voice acting is so unnatural. Also having to wait 3 years for a second season and then not even having a consistent schedule for the second season really turns me off the podcast.
Hope to see many, many episodes in the future!
I’m so glad I left this podcast notification on this is a great story that deserves and ending.
I just finished season one and I have zero complaints so far! I saw some reviews negatively pointed on the acting but I think they did great! You can hear them trying to reflect the emotion behind the situation in their voice because we can't see them. I also appreciate the little details they put in where I can hear them get in the car, call someone on the phone, or beating on the door! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I am starting season two as I type and I am excited for the series on Facebook!
I really like the story but the voice actors are TERRIBLE!! I’m still listening because I do really like the premise and storyline of the show but the voice acting does make it difficult to stomach at times.
I love limetown. The first season was amazing, but after waiting so long for it to come back and be pitched a money making book that could have been podcast content during all that time it’s been gone is kind of sleazy. I could be ok with that except for the random commercials about socks and such in the middle of the first episode of season two completely breaking the mood and immersion of the show. They could just as easily have put their ads at the end of the episode. I get creators need to make money & i love supporting but the method they went about it feels money grubbing.
Couldn’t even make it through the first episode the acting sounds so fake and forced.
I wanted so badly to like this but as you’ll see everyone saying: the acting is agonizingly corny. Corny acting isn’t always a deal breaker but it definitely is if it’s pretending to be non fiction. The main characters voice made me want to scream. Will not listen again.
The acting is trash and there are way too many ads. Disappointing...
I really enjoy the story so I keep listening but OMG the voice actors. It sometimes sounds like high school level drama club.
They are evil for only releasing one episode at a time.
The acting is so good it sounds real. And the story keeps you hooked.
I loved the first season. One of the best fiction podcasts I’ve experienced. Stopped season 2 ep1 when you inserted an ad in the MIDDLE OF THE EPISODE. Too many great podcasts don’t do this. Great first season. I adored it. I will always love it. I hoped for years for a season 2.
It’s so AWSOME me and my mom love listing and season 2 AWSOME
I finished season one almost instantly. I was SO excited to hear that season 2 came out this year! Can’t wait to listen and hoping there are many more to come soon! Not 3 years from now! Lol
I can’t wait for the story to continue. I’ve tried listening to other casts but Limetown is the best. I preordered the prequel book because I can’t get enough.
Amazing story. Really bad acting—who is this host actress? Her acting is cringe-inducing. Same thing with 95% of the rest of the actors.
This is a fictional podcast, but within the first 5 minutes of episode 1 I was wondering why I’d never heard of this bizarre mystery before! Incredibly story-telling.
I have listened to this podcast all the way through twice and I LOVE it. Really makes you think about people and their communities. I have to keep reminding myself it isn’t real. Well thought out storyline and development keeps you engaged and wanting more.
Just started season one and it’s great best sci-fi audio drama I’ve heard. Can’t wait for season two.
I enjoy all creepiness in the fall and Limetown for sure lived up to this. I listened to the whole season in just a few days and can not wait until Halloween for the new season.
Why didnt i listen to this when i first got into podcast a year ago?! This is a very good podcast that kept my attention all the way until the very end! Im glad though I finished it right in time for season 2! I hope it is good as the first season...I know it was off for about 3 years since it was last released in 2015 and now a new season in 2018! cant wiat for October 31!!!!
Great to binge listen to Can’t wait for the second season
Absolutely amazing! Completely hooked and can’t wait for season 2!
Fictional investigative reporting. Think it’s over-done? You’re wrong. Limetown is refreshing in style and sets the standard for podcasts based off the same premise. The sound design is AMAZING and submerges you within this fictional world. It’s often left me peering over my own shoulder, paranoid that someone’s watching me. Don’t listen to others’ comparisons, Black Tapes and Nightvale have nothing on this gem.
High quality podcast. True crime but fictional and sci fi.
I’m so happy it is back. I just hope it stays true to what is was, and doesn’t become something different.
Don’t f-ing say 2018 when you really mean 2 months before 2019. I was super excited but no I won’t listen to season 2.
Genuinely loved this one
Great first season only to pull the plug and abandon the fan base. Don’t waste your time getting emotionally invested in the story
Fantastic fiction. I can't wait for more!
I’ve been looking for a good fictional story podcast acted out. Sadly there are more and better ones for kids. I tried nightvale and was ultimately let down. I googled and stumbled upon limetown and I’ll have to say that it is extraordinary. It pulls you in.l, the voice acting, the dialogue, the story. I couldn’t help but imagine watching this on Netflix. My only negative is that there isn’t more and I am having to wait. Luckily I kind this in 2018 and s2 is right around the corner. Thank you APR!
God, oh god, did I love this podcast. It’s been two years since the last episode, and I still think about it frequently. It made me think, it made me jump out of my seat at times. I HATE that they’ve taken so long to bring it back. I really really hate it.
This is told in a somewhat “Riverdale-style” way. Good story, even better execution! The actors are top shelf, too. I need more of this. Only on E3 S1 but am glad a new season has already started because I’m binging this!
I just binged all of season 1, and I’m very fortunate that season 2 is around the corner after a few years (???) of silence. The production value and story are amazing. Can’t wait!!!
This is an amazing series for those who love the dark and eerie.
This is by far the most engaging narrative podcast I’ve ever encountered. The writing is fantastic, as well as the production quality and voice acting. I would highly recommend Limetown for anyone who enjoys compelling mysteries and plots that keep you on the edge of your seat!
I wasn’t sure this was the podcast for me, I enjoy true crime. It only took 2 episodes of Limetown though and I was hooked. I love the story, the mystery and the characters. This is an excellent pod. Listen and enjoy!! Christine
I really liked this podcast. The story’s great and addictive. But the forced acting and the amazing audio quality made the genuine surprise fall to the wayside inside a soft recording booth somewhere. What really lost me on this was just the lack of imperfect atmospheric sound quality. Someone banging their hand against their mic or turning their head away. Most professional sound studios can account for this, but that’s not really a known quality for investigative journalism. Also the cast sounds very disingenuous, almost forced. The narrator and the 911 operator sounded like they’re reading the script for a perfume commercial or a sonnet at times. I do like this podcast, but unfortunately it does what a lot of fictional/drama podcasts do; it does everything perfectly.
LOVED this podcast, but seriously jonesing for a Season 2... pretty please?
I’m glad I found this after it all aired, so I could listen to the whole thing straight through while doing chores. It’s deliciously creepy and mysterious, and also a little campy.
This is some next level audio drama. The production value is out of control. The acting is perfection. It feels so real, even as things get pretty bizarre, it had my heart racing. Artfully put together and beautifully told, the story of Limetown is captivating from start to finish.
I was hooked from the first episode and the rest of season 1 delivered. I need season 2
I was very pleased with how the first season turned out. It’s a tricky balance of fiction and performance, but they did a great job! I was engaged throughout! I can’t wait for the next season!
This was one of the first podcasts I ever listened to and it sucked me right in. I finished and heard there might actually be a second season and I can't lie, I'm happy I didn't find it when it came out because I'd hate to wait years for a second season but honestly I would, because this is an interesting story and I loved where it went.
This podcast has made me jump and say “Oh my God!” I burned through Season 1 so quickly and can’t wait for the next season.
We all know how amazing Serial was and this brings it into the realm of fiction. I think this is the only fictional podcast I have enjoyed and it's incredibly gripping. It toally held up on a second listen and I can't wait for season 2.
I love it so far.... but I am scared about how it’s going to go! I don’t want this to turn out like the Black Tapes did. :(
I’ve listened to season one over and over again for the last two and a half years. SO EXCITED for the second season coming. The story is fascinating and well-written. The characters are dimensional and draw you in. The spooky stuff is just the right temperature. LOVE IT. I can’t wait to read the novelization!!
I can’t wait to find out what happens to Miss Haddock and am looking forward to the possibility of meeting her uncle!!!
The only reason I can’t give a 5 star review is because of the Ads...they’re poorly placed and take away from the ambiance of the podcast. Please consider doing ads in the description or at least the end of the episode.
This show is great. It's chilling and suspenseful, with great voice acting. The voice acting and FX are great, and the plot is good so far. It gave me literal chills at several points.
The host could use a little enthusiasm and character to her voice and everyone else sounds like voice actors it’s pretty weird tbh. I’m interested in the story but I can’t get over the voices.
I found the premise interesting and S more ideas came out it kept the story interesting. The acting was good. I like the way the pacing went.. I look forward to next season.
This story is well written, well (voice) acted, and well executed all around. Bravo.
I loved the first season so much and it’s addicting and the last episode will make you question everything but it’s so well put together with a fascinating story to the point you can’t tell if it’s fiction or not!
The voice acting is top notch. My 17 year old even asked if it was real because it sounds like it is. Great story. Well done. Totally hooked. Hoping it starts back up again soon. Glad I just found it, as I would have hated waiting so long for a new season.
I absolutely love these types of podcasts and I can get sucked in pretty easily.... but from Episode 1, the dialogue, characters, monologues, and the whole “feel” of the podcast is extremely staged and almost cheesy sounding; which is really unfortunate because it’s such an intriguing story... I am going to attempt to listen to a couple more episodes before pulling the plug.
If those words sound like something you enjoy in a podcast, this is perfect for you. It had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
A bit of a slow buildup but paid off in the end. Really high production value (multiple actors, sound effects etc.)
This story line is intoxicating. I became addicted after just a couple of episodes. I would love to see a TV drama or even a big screen version. The writing is that good. Tapping into the power of the human mind, the story unfolds as a powerful mystery. Can’t wait for Season 2.
I was on the edge of my seat for most of this podcast and I cannot wait for season two.
This is in my top 3 podcast and my favorite audio drama. I’ve been anxiously waiting for season 2 I’m freaking pumped for season 2!
How spooky and well written, give it a listen for sure!
I have listened to a few other narrative podcasts and this one is my favorite. I have listened through it twice. I can’t wait until it comes back in a few months! It is just so good!
I am at utter disbelief in this story. It is theatrical at its best and I have wasted two episodes of time that I can’t get back.
Where can I go to support this ?
So I rather quickly binged this entire podcast. If you enjoyed Tanis or The Black Tapes you'll love Limetown.
I admit, I don’t often write reviews, especially for shows without a large listening library. I remember finding Limetown when it first launched on iTunes. I waiting for each new release with eagerness I hadn’t felt in some time. Then disappointment once it ended. Yet, I kept it in my subscription. I would return to this podcast when things were quiet and I wanted something familiar. Now, we await more. Happy to have you back.
I’m so excited for the future of this show. I’ve listened to season one countless times.
Like a better written, better acted black tapes. I’m hooked.
I started out really enjoying the first season of this, but by the end was forcing myself to finish it. The story about the pig brought me to tears and was very compelling, and the incident with the guy banging on Lia’s door was chilling, but everything else was a big meh for me. The story was predictable, and the concept behind it wasn’t all that interesting by the end. Lia’s motives aren’t compelling, and the whole thing just kinda drags along after the second episode. There is much better fiction to choose from.
Great story and cast can’t wait for season two.
I love the plot and the story line, but the voice acting is painful at times. Hopefully season 2 will reveal a more seasoned cast.
I discovered this podcast late and I'm so glad I did, as season 2 is said to be released this year. Fantastic show.
Serial wasn’t the beginning of the format, nor the beginning of podcasting. Think back to War of the Worlds, folks, and you’ll have a much earlier example of dramatic coverage- fictional dramatic coverage. I can think of much bettter podcasts I heard before Serial.so stop pretending that’s somehow a measuring stick for podcast quality. if you think it is you need to explore a lot more. Limetown is a fine show- it could’ve crossed into the creepy genre that seems to be so popular in parts of podcasting but it hasn’t by the end of Season 1. I tend to not listen to serial drama or investigations until I have at least a few episodes saved up- I listened to all of Season 1 in one go. Now I need to sit patiently after Season 2 comes out for the action to get going. It’s going to be a challenge.
Exactly as the title says, this dramatized series has solid backing in concept, but is one of the worst series to listen to if you're looking for realism. The voice acting is incredibly over rated and unbelievable, which takes away from so much of the show. There is a lot of overcompensation for this with shoddy sound effects that are sometimes so overwhelming loud and pitchy, I've had to take my earbuds out in the middle of work. These sorts of podcasts usually have a flow, but I cannot say the same about this one. If you thoughts Rabbits was crappy, this takes the cake for one of the worst.
I honestly didn’t expect to love this show so much. I was hooked almost instantly. With plenty of bone chilling moments and an interesting plot. Limetown is my favorite podcast.
So creepy and cool. I listened to the whole first season in one night because I just couldn't stop.
Limetown was captivating from start to finish and had me on the edge of my seat. So excited about potential new episodes!
I loved this so much! It was super suspenseful, I thought all the voice actors did such a great job and I can’t wait for season 2!
The audio is top notch. The production is not some in basement podcast. The story is good!
I'm a podcaster myself and I've never been so enraptured by a show. I'm absolutely dying for season two!
But the storyline isn’t terrible
An amazing first season! I can't wait for more and months after listening to the show I still think about many elements of this story. Great acting, immersive soundscape, great writing and numerous reasons to be scared out of your mind. Can't wait for season 2!
I was looking for some good spooky podcasts to pass the time during my commute and I ran across Limetown. I gave it a listen and I found myself hooked on the mystery and presentation. It all feels very real, despite being fiction. I was on the edge of my (car) seat for every bit of it, and found myself speculating about bits of the mystery from the start. The end of season 1 had me nearly biting my nails! If you want a good mystery story wrapped in the perspective of an investigative journalist, then welcome to Limetown.
I have only listened to one other podcast and the host said to check this one out. I wasn’t entirely sure- a podcast drama sounded weird and I wasn’t sure I could keep up without seeing the visuals. But Limetown captivated my attention and jump in my seat! Listened to Season 1 in a day because I could not stop!
This is a really well-executed Sci-fi take on investigative audio journalism that I can’t wait to continue to listen to next year!
Since listening to the first episode I have been hooked! Love the style of the storyline. Very realistic. I have blown through the first season in less than two days!
I love the mystery behind the show and the way that it has been executed. It's suspenseful and I love the personality of all the characters. I only wish there were more episodes! Very excited for season 2.
After listening to the first episode I found myself googling limetown to try and find out more. I got so invested after just one episode for a moment I forgot it wasn’t real. Limetown is a truly captivating podcast and I can’t wait to hear more.
Holy poop!!!!!!!!!!!!! This podcast is PERFECT. Great cast, amazing story, executed perfectly, just wonderful. Listen to this podcast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I listen to a ton of fiction podcasts and this story one is one of my favorites! Keeps you guessing for sure
One billion times better than Nightvale and The Black Tapes...
The story seems good from the start, but it’s hard to get past how bad the narrator’s acting is...so stiff...so forced and unnecessary. I’m late to the show and it has been recommended to me many times so I’m just hoping he gets better. I can see from the good reviews that it possibly does I just hope the narrator isn’t part of the show for the whole time. Ugh.
Don’t mind me I’m just over here screaming because this podcast is arising from THE DEAD AFTER 2 YEARS OF LEAVING ME IN THE DARK!!!
A wonderful experience.
I finished this in a day and I n e e d more!!!
Limetown was the first podcast I had ever listened to. It is absolutly amazing!! I was SO HAPPY seeing come across my feed today; I have kept in my libirary all this time hoping it would come back!!! Happy Halloween!!!!
Absolutely riveting!! I am so excited for Season 2. Cannot come soon enough.
I’m a big fan of podcasts. Hands down this was the best story I’ve listened to.
I love the horror genre with all my heart. I love listening to it best of all. But of all the audiobooks, radio dramas, and podcasts, Limetown has always been my favourite. I can’t begin to say how much I look forward to the long-awaited second season!
So glad that I found this podcast in 2017, because I think it would be almost impossible to wait until 2018 for the next season! We did not know that this was labeled under fiction, so for a long time we did not know if this was real or fake. Very well done, and it’s our first fiction investigative report type of podcasts. Looking forward to the next season!
I am a lover of old time radio and this series of podcasts, though a bit long on format, does a good job of providing some chills and a good story. Some weakenesses in the voice actors that did not make them that believable, and some segments with under the breath or crowd scenes, were way too hard to hear the important story bits. Overall it provides a good story and the impact is a bit lessened overall at the climax, but a good enjoyable story for Halloween.
I am a bit late to the game, but I really enjoyed this podcast! I love the journalistic approach, and it had a great story! My only disappointment is there is not more! I hope another will be released--what happened to Lia and the other survivors?!?
Story was good, wished there was another season.
This pretty much blows away every other serialized drama. The acting is the best I’ve ever heard of any serial podcast, blows away the stilted and contrived Black Tapes as well as any other oft recommended series. Noticing the break and wondering of there will be a follow up season... Even if not, the ending is great.
Kept me entertained throughout, I didn't want to stop listening. I hope there will be more episodes soon. :)
Thought this was real the whole time, bummed it was fiction
Can not wait for season two! Amazing podcast!!
Great story. I can’t wait for the next season
Fantastic storytelling ending with a edge of your seat finale
Amazing writing. Incredible voice acting. I put off listening to this for a long time because I knew it was among (if not THE) best in modern audio drama. Beautifully executed. I can't say enough good things about Limetown. Listen, and enjoy! <3
This sounds really cheesy. Acting isn’t great. Campy.
I was excited to start this podcast after reading a description onilne, and boy did it live up to the hype. I loved every second of Limetown. It weaves a great mystery while giving each episode its own focus. It does an excellent job of using the medium to its full potential, and the ending left me wanting more. While I was sad it had to end, it was definitely an addicting ride.
The worst thing is that there's only 6 episodes. I loved this story and couldn't wait to listen more! These guys became Two Up and did 36 Questions, which I didn't like as much since I wanted another sci-fi/thriller mockumentary thing, but it was still good. Really like this though.
I love love love love love this podcast. I find it even better than Black Tapes. The voice acting and pace of the story are a lot more believable and griping. Don’t get me wrong, I also love the other one. My main complaint with this podcast is that they treated it like fanfiction and left the listener/reader hanging. Very unprofessional. It’s been almost 2 years and season two is not out. Had they updated regularly, this podcast would have easily received 5 stars. As it is, I’m deleting it from my shows. I’ve been waiting for an update long enough. I’m not waiting anymore. Very disappointed. Bye.
I really enjoyed lime town. It’s well written, acted, and the production values are great. I also found the climax to be really fun. It left me with a smile on my face just like a really good campfire scary story would. Well done.
2 years later and I'm still enjoying his podcast. I really wished there was a season 2.
Great story, fun to listen Quick & interesting
I found this to be incredible and all encompassing. Exactly what I seek in a podcast.
Loved this podcast. Like a previous reviewer I too found myself googling Limetown. I truly hope they make more episodes but it doesn’t look too promising.☹️
I wish there were more episodes!
Really intriguing and wonderfully gripping. This story has me hooked.
Love this story!
Great concept for a story and great execution. Voice acting is tough, and most of these actors did a wonderful job. Highly recommend.
I'm assuming season 2 won't come out for a few more years. Or ever. Really sad this was a great podcast.
I like the story a lot. It's very well written and I want to know what happens and keep listening, but the girls voice, Lia! It's hard to explain but it's got a hiss to it at the end of every "s" and that can't possibly be her normal canter and tone. It's honestly so aggravating to listen to. Talk normal. Don't try to sound quiet and "soft" reporters don't have the "sex kitten" try hard sound when they speak.
An amazing story! I hope there'll be more!
I am obsessed with this show. The story is so compelling, I'm craving new episodes.
This is by far one of my favorite podcasts. It's so addictive and even had me shout out loud a few times.
I love this so much. It pulled me in right away and I've listened to a three times now. It's perfect in how "real" it feels.
Everything about this drama series was riveting, and I was completely absorbed in the story. I loved the peculiarity of it, the mystery, the intrigue, and the overall creepiness. And when I say creepy, there were several times that my hair stood on end, and the goose bumps took over. So more than anything, I'd say this story was chilling, but in the best possible way. Hope to see a season 2 soon!
Fascinating! Binge listener. Excellent podcast, have yet to find another that I enjoyed as much as limetown.
Not sure if they plan on making more but I loved every episode and listened to them all in one sitting.
My husband and I listened to this podcast together because it sucked us in so fast on the first episode. Scary, engaging, well acted, well written, an absolute delight. Truly, one of my favorite fiction podcasts, ever! Great stuff.
A series which deserves a second season.
Never mind that is fiction. It sounds fake. So contrived with cheesy sound effects. Not a single ummm or misstep in "interviews." too scripted if that makes sense.
Where did this podcast go?
I was hooked from the very beginning. Didn't want it to end :)
The story will stick with you.
The premise of Limetown is absolutely fascinating and the execution of the episodes is expertly done. I thought the voice acting and sound effects were top notch, and the story - the way it unfolded - had me impatient to hit play on the next episode, to discover along with the narrator what happens next. There were several scenes that were chilling, and if I hadn't come into the podcast knowing it was fictional, I would have been searching news archives for answers.
Creative story, good acting. Wished there was more
Get it , very eerie and fantastic.
I listen to a lot of horror/suspense podcasts. Limetown is the best one ever. I listened to the entire first season in one weekend. I really hope they get a second season. I have to know what happens.
This podcast is absolutely amazing! It draws you in and doesn't let you go. Season 2 can't come fast enough.
Great production value. It's really noteworthy that this story reaches a conclusion and accounts for its mysteries, unlike many audio dramas that are more meandering. Feels like a novella or Twilight Zone episode, with touches of Atwood. The dialogue could be more naturalistic, but for how difficult that is, they do a great job.
Loved her voice and the way that she captured so many crazy fearful moments in the story. Although I was a little underwhelmed with the explanation of what actually caused the panic, overall I've really enjoyed listening
Beautiful and mysterious. CAN NOT WAIT FOR SEASON TWO
I just finished listening to Homecoming and S-town and was eager to find something similar. Limetown is not it! I wasn't sure at the outset whether it was real or scripted, but after listening for a minute or two it was clear. What makes a podcast like Serial or S Town so great is the varied and unaffected voices of the interviewees and the unexpectedness of listening to a strange but true story. And of course what makes a podcast like Homecoming great is the acting and script. But... I could find absolutely nothing to like in Limetown. The narrator is simpering and affected, which isn't unrealistic in itself, but the news footage is overly faked, the acting self conscious and overly dramatic, and the dialog is so terrible it's distracting.
Listen to it while on a solo trip out west. Binged it
I never get addicted to podcasts but this one was AMAZING! Simply put, this is the best podcast in the history of podcasts and the earth! I am so obsessed with this podcast. Great story! I LOVED IT SO MUCH but what happened to Leah?? Make another one!
...so please come back!
Like another person wrote, even though it says fiction, I too was googling to see if Limetown was real. It seemed so real. I remember thinking back to Feb. 2004 and where I was and why I didn't remember any of this happening, especially if it was international news. 😂 My only issue is her punctual pronunciation of words. That's what made me think maybe it was fake. Nobody talks that perfect all the time. 🤣 Overall though, this podcast is chilling, eerie, suspenseful and thought provoking. Great job guys!
This was my introduction to podcast radio dramas and it was incredible. I just wish they were more responsive to their fan base as they don't seem to reply to inquiries about the future of this series and seem to have just about abandoned this. This has incredible quality in writing, scene transitions, audio editing, voice talents and sound FX.
We would all like to see more from this team.
I finished the entire series in one day. When reading other reviews I saw two main gripes: the acting and the time between the release of episodes. I started listening to the series after all the episodes were released so that obviously wasn't an issue for me. As far as the voice acting goes, I agree that there are a couple actors that stand out as a little cringeworthy, but for the most part I thought the acting was at least decent. I enjoyed the production value in terms of background and ambient noise used to make the interviews seem more real. I enjoyed the story. It was more than enough to keep me interested. There were a couple of really intense moments. Anyone that's a fan of sci fi/horror/thrillers will be, at the very least, entertained. I hope they make a second season!
I loved the podcast but frankly find it pretty crummy for the creators to just bail on the project. I doubt a TV show will have the same effect, and by the time the creators realize that, a lot of followers for the podcast will have gotten tired of waiting. If the creators hadn't bailed, I'd give it 5 stars.
Binge it and love it.
LOVED Limetown and over a year later I'm still upset that they didn't continue making episodes
Wish there was more!! So well done.
This is one of the finest fiction podcast I have yet heard. I grew up near Sparta TN, so it was fun thinking about that area while listening to this. Fantastic writing and execution! They do a better job than most making it sound almost like a real investigative report, though one can still tell they are acting, they do a great job. This is much better than podcast like Rabbits. The only other podcast that is at the same level, and really the best fictional podcast I have heard, is Within The Wires. Check this one out. Thanks to those who made it.
I admit I didn't like it at first but before long I was hooked! I couldn't stop listening, wanting answers to so many questions. Great story & very intriguing! One question though, where's the rest of the story?!
I want to begin by saying, I never leave reviews on anything. The creators of Limetown got it right. From the story, to the voice acting, to the the simple sound effects in the background, Limetown kept me on the hook the entire time. The intense suspense pulled me in to start a new episode each time one ended so that I finished Limetown in less than 24 hours. Storytelling like this needs to happen; it's important. Please, do yourself a favor and give it a listen! And to the creators, thank you.
Great podcast, great sound work and great actors!
Tv is dead, Joe Rogan gets a hundred million downloads per month on his podcast. The tv move is about money, pure and simple, as podcasting to reach listeners has a much higher ceiling of potential. The story is good, but I agree with other reviews that the narration smacks of Sarah Koenig's style being ripped off. With the long hiatus while they ride the tv magic carpet being something I had to discover on Reddit, I have to give this a 1 star. The plot may be somewhat original but you get no style points for the selling out move or ripping off your peers. I won't be listening or recommending anymore. This podcast likely is dead, because podcast commercials don't make one rich like Kraft and Gillette commercials.
Let me start by saying the girls from MFM podcast recommended this podcast, and I came in thinking Limetown was very real. I debated this for the first two episodes, mostly trying to convince myself it was although I knew in my heart it was fictional. When I finally looked it up and discovered it was not true I was afraid listening to the rest was going to be a little disappointing but I was wrong. I loves this podcast from start to finish! I listened to it at night after work, to keep myself from dozing off and because it made it so much more eerie! I'm saving the episodes to show my friends and to re-listen to!
Devoured the whole series so quickly! Need more, more, more.
Concept is interesting but over acted.
loved the podcast; listened & subscribed & supported & followed from day one!! loved it...... that was almost two years ago. you ended in december 2015... not one word about when you'd return. not cool for all of your loyal followers. it's almost may 2017 and still not a single word. showing really nice respect for your loyal followers. epic fail.
First rate mystery drama that has you hooked from the first episode. Each podcast is well cast with superb production, while the mystery of Limetown slowly draws you in, ending on a killer cliffhannger. The one flaw is where is the sequel, because you cannot leave us handing like that.
Hooked finished all episodes in one sitting
I wish this would of been longer but it was good while it lasted. 😉
Keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat. Not a dull moment!
It sucked me in and I really wanted to visit Limetown!
This show was wonderful!!! Why aren’t you making any more episodes?! The end is such a cliffhanger and then, NOTHING!!!
I listened to this as my first fictional podcast, after having own an iPod for close to a decade and never bothering to look into them. I was almost immediately wrapped up in the story. I liked the realistic style, and the perspective the story was told from as well as the mystery that came with it. It takes a lot to get me attached to a story but this had all of the elements. I keep looking to see if there is a follow up, but since it has been so long, something tells me I'm out of luck. Not that I will complain if I'm not. I don't kow if the creators still read their reviews, but if you do, I'd like to thank you for putting out such an amazing product. It kept me on the edge of my seat to listen to like some of the better suspense books I've read.
Would like more please
But PLEASE bring this back for another season. I loved the first season and I need more!
So intense, I couldn't stop listening to this podcast!! This is a must listen to, it's storyline is so gripping and thrilling. Definitely my favorite podcast!
I like the Serial format like most people, and the premise of this show was very interesting, so I stuck with this to the end. That said, there are only 6 episodes to this, I think, because there's not much story here at all. Limetown is about a journalist investigating the disappearance of the entire population of a town in Tennessee, but there's actually not any investigation involved. I'm tempted to say 'leads are just handed to this lady,' but they're not even leads, just outright exposition of what really happened - there is no mystery at all. Production is good, although a few actors sound like they're reading their lines. One other thing - the writing needs a little more skeptical editing. The style needs work to sound realistic as something spoken vs. sounding like an audiobook.
*Update* I'm downgrading because it's now been over a year and no word on this returning despite the huge cliffhanger.* I liked this....Over 8 months ago. No word on whether or not this will continue. I get that it takes time to produce a good podcast but no word for 8 months?
Listen. You won't be disappointed.
The story is intriguing, mildly scary, and the progression is very suspenseful. On top of that, the acting quality was quite good (especially compared to podcasts like The Black Tapes). Definitely worth subscribing and listening to all the way through!
Stumbled on this: strongly strongly recommend this mystery. Voice actors are excellent. Production values gripping. Very well written.
One of the most visceral audio experiences I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. So happy to have found this and binge through the amazing story.
I've listened to similar pods like Serial, Tanis, and The Black Tapes. This one has good acting and an eerie story that really creeped me out. Highly recommend it!
I really like this podcast, only bummed that it ended so quickly!
I LOVED Limetown! Past tense! Know why it's past tense? BecAuse the creators just leaving you hanging with no resolution at the end of season 1, and don't think enough about us to return for a second season. It's been rumored they were offered a tv show or movie, but WHO DOES THAT?!? Who just leaves their fans with no explanation, and absolutely NO conclusion to the story you've been following for a year. Awful! Guess it was all about the money in the end.
If you choose to listen to this, be warned that Season 1 ends on a cliffhanger...and the producers have largely indicated that there aren't plans to continue production. A mystery with no ending....
4 stars only because it totally left us hanging!
went throught this podcast so fast. well done and captivating
Had this podcast suggested to me by a friend. I finished it in one sitting and my jaw is still on the floor! Everything from the fantastic acting to the tense build up makes for a deeply engrossing story. It says this is the first season, so I really hope they make another! Im on the edge of my seat!!
This is a gripping story with some great twists and turns that left me wanting more. Please give me more.
Very well produced. Great voice acting. The writing and sound design are very well done. Can't wait to find out how the story develops!
Just like the people of Limetown, it appears my favorite serialized story has disappeared. It has been over a year since anything has come up from APR's stellar reporter. I want to hear what happened and would love to have Limetown come back. The premise was excellent and our main character was well played! The storyline kept me captivated and wanting more. Well, I think that goes without saying, so WHERE ARE YOU LIMETOWN!!!
I was looking for a podcast that would engage me and totally immerse me in the experience. There are a plethora of terribly written and cheeseball Sci-fi podcasts out there that lack in sound effects (which really make u feel like you're there) and acting (I'm really done with the overacted voiceovers). This show is the complete package and left me wanting season 2. Thank you thank you thank you.
The story is well crafted, of a bit familiar to any genre fan. I tried to stick with it and really be present for the storyline, but the over dramatic acting feels like a high school play level of realness. It was harmless until around episode two or three where I found myself uncontrollably laughing out loud at (what was meant to be) really serious moments. Too bad.
When are you coming back?!? Freaky and amazing
Recommend to anyone who likes a science fiction podcast that's just beyond reality.
This will make for an excellent book! Given the fact that this didn't have enough details which didn't effect it that much since my brain made up those details. But it would be even better if we can get those added details to really enhance the story. But I absolutely enjoyed this!
The storytelling is good compared to a lot of fiction podcasts out there. Not to say that there can't be improvements, but I'd say it's up there with the likes of The Black Tapes podcast. It's suspenseful, interesting, and has enough character development with the main narrator to help you settle in her role. There are times that the story is rushed with elements that are a bit over-the-top to try and startle you, but definitely a good listen for zoning out on your drive to work. Editing, sound effects, and sound quality are top notch. Really hope there's more coming!
I really love this story the only bad thing is that there is no other part after the ending and there hasn't been a new podcast since 2015
The story telling if fantastic, and the acting is better than any podcast I've listened to. Totally worth downloading.
From episode 1 I was hooked on this podcast. As of this review its been over a year since a new episode and not sure when its coming back. I really hope more to come because this is excellent. I can't recommend this enough, almost a must listen.
I was literally gasping at the end. I wish there were more episodes. BRING LIMETOWN BACK!
Amazing voice acting, engaging and mysterious story. Not sure how this isn't more popular!
Wow, did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Phenomenal.
This is fantastic. I loved the series and how it played out. Keep up the good work.
Man, I've been dying for some more good fiction podcasts and this one filled that niche. I binged right through season 1 and I'm dying for season 2. Can't wait.
Overall the story is intriguing and has some classic sci-fi elements that are put to good use. I do question some of the editing and effects used, because they don't always line up with the script. Overacting really took me out of the story, though, and while I listened to every episode, it didn't grip me.
It's been a while since I've heard this, but it's the best, scariest podcast I've listened to! We'd like more please!!
Absolutely riveting. Would recommend to anyone who wants to be entertained. Please make the 2nd season!!!
Ohhh man this was great. Incredible acting, and the way the mystery of this story unfolded was masterful. I'm really excited they're making a prequel book, and can't wait for season 2. I mean, I CAN wait, because I understand how much work goes into creative processes. They're getting a lot of flack for the delay in making a second season, but it'll be just as good whenever it comes out. In the meantime I'm gonna listen to all kinds of similar stuff, like the Black Tapes and Archive81!
Couldn't not binge listen. Recommend to all that love suspense, storytelling in its highest form. Can't wait for next season.
I listened to all the episodes in one sitting! The acting and mixing in this podcast is excellent and in my opinion they are believable. Please listen! I hope they come out with more episodes!!!
I liked it a lot and the content it contains to make it very interesting and addicting to know more and to listen to it. This is probably one of my top favorite podcasts. With that being said and in mind, I wish there more pods to listen to. I would still like and love to know even more details of the story or story-line.
The entire story was intriguing but the ending was really nerve wrecking
Wish there was more!
Way to screw your fans and use them as a platform to go for a money grab. The podcast was good but the creators have decided to try to write a book or do television and have told their fans "sorry, not sorry". Support podcasts that are passionate about their art skip this cast and don't support those that don't care about their fans. Save yourself the disappointment!
even though it was a bit over the top at times, I still enjoyed the story line. I am a bit disappointed that they've been off line for well over a year wihout any hint of it's return so it's been hard to keep it in mind
This is fictional and should be clearly labeled as such. All of the actors are severely over dramatic.
The characters really come out and in such a short time the show made a huge bang in the community. Cant wait for season two!!
I couldn't stop listening to this. It's kind of like if you combine the shows Eureka, XFiles, Fringe, Stranger Things, and Lost...and that still doesn't properly describe it. You'll just have to listen for yourself.
LIMETOWN, YO WASSUP. I listened to Limetown around a year ago but I think it's about time I come back and actually leave it a rating + rec. Because it's very, very good. I usually like podcasts where shy nerds ramble on about history, pop culture and music or whatever. But out of the podcasts plays, Limetown is probably one of my favorites. It's very unique as a story even if I'm thinking of the short stories and books I've read. 'Napoleon' is the episode that I keep thinking back on. So, what's your halt? Get lost in Limetown. Do it. :P
A coworker recommended this series to me and I binged it in one day. I like the premise of the podcast and the story, but the acting wasn't great. It was a bit confusing at times but I enjoyed the journey. I'm a regular NPR (National Public Radio) listener, so the use of APR (American Public Radio) as the station helped me listen past the fact that it was fictional and create these characters and settings in my mind. It was okay and I would come back for season 2 if they put one out, but it wasn't great.
This was my first time listening to a podcast series and it was a great introduction! I listened to it all in one day it was so enthralling! I can't wait for season 2!
Wine time is the series that has a great storyline awesome potential and so much good mystery. The sad thing about it is is that after the first season there is no chance of the show coming back at this point. The creators of the show in my opinion rose too high too fast and it went to their heads. They wanted to do a second season but also do a prequel book start up another series and also are in talks with making Lyme town the television series. At this point over a year or more later there is no chance of this podcast ever coming back. I'm thinking the creators had differences with each other didn't really understand where to go after they were done with this first season and now we're stuck in a limbo. Maybe one day they'll get their asses in gear and actually make a second season but until then line town is just a one and done series that unfortunately is over
Loved it. Terrified me. Amazing sound effects. I want more!
There was one episode that ended in such a freaky way that I literally jumped when I heard it in my car. Good writing and scene setting.
Can't wait for the next season. Hurry!!
Someone needs to continue this story!
Great story telling! I loved it!
This is totally enthralling in! Great mix of documentary and x-files.
I can't tell you how much I want this to return. There are answers and I need to know them!!!
This is the best podcast fiction I have ever heard. You must give it a shot.
Mysterious, innovative, beautifully told story!! Keeps you on the edge of your seat!
Best story out there. But it disappeared
One of the best if not the best short fiction podcasts!
I enjoyed listening to the first season (ONE YEAR AGO), but I won't be following anything else they do. Too much time has gone by and I've lost interest and grown frustrated. I know the creators are working on a Limetown TV series and prequel book, but the promise of more to come with no actual release dates or anything leaves me disinterested and uncommitted to the series.
I just wish they'd produce more!!!!!
I enjoyed the drama. Interesting script. Good actors. Worth a listen.
It's a great podcast that had me hooked from the beginning! I hope there is more to come!
I am really enjoying this podcast, and am excited for future episodes! 💜
I love this podcast and have made a lot of my coworkers fall in love with it as well. We are all wanting more and believe that this podcast needs to be brought back! MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!!
I'm sure I'm not the first reviewer to say this, but if you like the style of serial and you like any type of creepy, paranormal, conspiracy, etc., type of show then this podcast is for you. Excellent voice acting, well written, and very bingeable! Just be warned that the ending is quite a cliffhanger and since the show's creators have decided to squander the momentum and sizable fan base they had to focus on trying to get a TV show produced, there won't be a season 2 anytime soon.
The forshadowing and symbolism are almost comically overdone.
This was an amazing podcast. I liken it to a short story acted out and recorded for us. It has an amazing plot full of unpredictable twists and turns. I could not stop listening. It felt a little cheesy at first but once I got into it I couldn't get enough!
Great podcast, wonderful to listen to. Please make more!
Would have love for the last few episodes to be a little more expository but it was a great season. Please do more.
All I can say is OMG...I've ran through this podcast within 2 days. It was amazing and I truly wish there was more to come. This is NOT fair! Give us more!!!!! This is an intriguing story, superbly told.
I have listened to many of the serial dramas that have been produced for this format, and Limetown stands above them all. The writing is exceptional and the actors bring the great story to life with stunning performances. I hope to see more from this talented group!
I can't imagine anyone not just blasting through this whole season in one sitting. Compelling storytelling, great performance and production, perfectly scintillating. Cannot wait for the second season - long live audio plays! On to The Black Tapes for me....
This is a truly great podcast with an awesome storyline that keeps you hooked! Definitely a great find.
Can we get a season two PLEASE???
I really enjoyed it. (I'm also a huge fan of old time radio.) I listened to the whole show over 2 days, and I'm usually not a binger. I'm disappointed that there is no season 2 on the horizon, but I enjoyed what they made.
Loved this podcast, but disappointed with the cliffhanger.
I hope there is a season 2.
The concept is great and I'm interested enough that I'd still keep listening if there were more episodes. However, some voice acting isn't that great and the script is (occasionally) really bad, especially in the last two episodes. Much of the dialogue between the characters ends up sounding unnatural, too many clever and over dramatic comments.
What an awesome podcast. There were literally parts that made my skin crawl with creepiness!
Great acting and sound quality. It seems so real!
I blasted through the entire season of Limetown in a day--it's that good. I can't wait for the second season.
Give us more pls pls pls!!!!
Fun and riveting!
I love the podcast.
This is a great podcast. I couldn't wait to hear the next episode after I heard the first one. I hope for another play from this group of producers.
This story is truly going to hook you from the beginning. It's intense and it'll leave you wanting more after each episode. (I will say that at some points the acting isn't the best, but the storyline makes it worth staying for!)
Love the podcast. i want more limetown. is there any way that another season will be coming out. i hope so
I loved this creepy and disturbing radio drama! Please, please continue the story. Thank you for keeping radio theater alive!
Do not listen to in a dark room alone
This is a good show. Problem being its been 2 days since I listen to it. I remember going ok, its good Ill continue if there is a 2nd season, but I already forgot how it ended. Nothing memoralable but worth a listen
I'm listening to this on a 7 hour bus ride across Germany and only have one episode left- very sad! I find this podcast thrilling and the story is very intriguing/original. I enjoy the sound production and the actors are great! It's like Serial and The Message had a baby!
Holy cow, y'all. Good voice actors exist. None of them were hired for this podcast though. It's such a cool idea for a show, but you can't leave me so distracted by your terrible acting that I can't be engaged with your story. Partway through episode one I was already wildly uncomfortable with how unrealistic and poorly acted everyone was. No one sounded real. Real people just don't talk like this. Sheesh.
This is an amazing idea but the execution is just awful. The acting is some of the worst acting ever. It's like listening to a B-movie horror movie. The pacing of the "interviews" just ruins the whole aspect that it could be real. You can tell everyone is reading from a script. I really wanted to like this podcast but I couldn't make it past the second episode. Don't waste your time on this pile of crap.
What a great show. The storyline is great, and made me want to finish the season in one day. Which I did. The suspense was palpable, and only increased with every new episode. Only compalint is that is was such a short season, and from what I see the showmay have been abandon. No new episode since December of 2015. I hope new epsiodes will come soon.
I loved the black tapes and struggled to find one that hooks me in the first episode. This is it! Limetown!!
I blew through this podcast, I was so hooked, and I've since gotten several friends and family members to listen as well. I love how real it all seemed, and just really enjoyed the ride!
This podcast is one of the most thrilling and captivating I've ever heard! I was hooked within the first few minutes of listening and couldn't stop till I was done. Some have commented about over acting, but I have no idea where they found this. I NEED MORE!! :)
Nice story, but is there a season two? Or is it over? Doesn't make much sense but it left me wanting more.
It's fun and entertaining. Just have low expectations and you'll be pleasantly surprised. This is fiction so of course it comes off unrealistic. So many haters so I felt the need to defend this Podcast. The only problem I have is the ending. Not satisfying, but that's because I wanted more!
I really liked the idea of a fictional sci-fi thriller, but the execution was reaaallly rough sometimes. I couldn't stand the lead character - the reporter - it was so obvious she was reading from a script, not a great voice actor. Some of the supporting ones were okay but then there were some where the woman was supposed to be 40/50ish and it's obviously an actor in her 20s/30s using slang/terminology an older character typically wouldn't. So it was hard to actually stay inside the world of the story when the whole time you're like "wow this is bad acting." 2 stars for a decent story though.
Where is the rest of the story?!?!?!? This is a great one!
This was the first time I dipped my toe into fictional podcasts like this, but I thought hey, why not? And I wasn't disappointed. Limetown is a great listen--and unlike Black Tapes or Tanis, the voice acting is actually good and believable and there are times when you forget this entire thing is fiction. I finished it in a day (not too hard, the episodes are short) and I already miss it! The fact that it ends on a huge cliffhanger doesn't help... I just want season 2 already!
Wish there were more!!!
