Something has happend in recent episodes that NVC now plays dramatically quieter than every other podcast I subscribe to. Couple this with the EXCESSIVE Pokemon chatter and I don't see any reason to stay subscribed.
Not as great since Jose left. The current hosts repeatedly go off topic and talk about nothing pertaining to Nintendo news.
I’m a longtime listener to NVC, and the show is as strong as ever. There have been a fair number of hosts over the years, and Casey is doing a fantastic job as the new host so far. She’s great at moving the show along at a nice pace and moderating the discussions. But recently, I feel like she does a pretty small percentage of the talking - Brian, Peer, and Tom take up most of the time, and it’s sad to hear her trying to get a word in edge-wise while being talked over. I know this isn’t intentional on the guys’ part, but Casey is smart, funny, and deeply knowledgable about Nintendo, so it’s sad to hear the others talking over her so frequently. Especially since she’s often the only woman on the panel. Sometimes I feel like she’s only able to introduce the segments before the others take over the conversation. She’s the host, so let her host!
I’ve listened to a lot of video game podcasts over the years, and this is my favorite one. The cast of voices rotates and the host has changed throughout the years, but each iteration has its strengths. Peer and Brian are regulars that keep the show great and clearly love Nintendo old and new. Newer regulars Casey and Tom Marks represent a different type of gamer than voices past. Casey knows her anime, Pokémon, and other niche titles that involve dragons, and Tom always has an indie game to recommend witch is a perfect addition to a predominantly Switch podcast. I look forward to listening every week and haven’t missed an episode since the Jose Otero days. Get the thing!
A lot of people throw IGN a lot of unnecessary shade. I realize IGN is a large media corporation, but it is run by good people who are incredibly passionate about games, and it really shows in NVC. Casey is really coming into her own as the new host, and I love that Peer is often on the show. As someone who has been with IGN since it was IGN64, it’s awesome to see someone (Peer) with so much responsibility at IGN still take the time to hop on a podcast and discuss their passion for gaming. IGN is a big company but it is definitely still run by the same soul and passion that it was in early days. I love NVC - keep up the good work guys! :)
I’m happy to listen every week and get the thing on the latest Nintendo news. You can tell by listening that the IGN team is very passionate about Nintendo and is super knowledgeable about the games and news they discuss and they have great chemistry together. Contrary to some recent reviews Casey is doing a great job as a host and moderator and the IGN team is doing great work. Can’t wait to hear about their E3 updates!
Who ever the girl is that keeps talking with an upward inflection after every sentence, please stop it’s very annoying to listen to. I like the podcast but couldn’t get through it with her doing that.
This show has been super for years on end! Love you love your show!
Casey is an excellent host! I always love when the whole gang is together: Peer, Brian, Zach, and Casey. Keep up the good work!
Casey is a decent host, but Zach still bulldozers over her and acts as if he’s the host. Get him off the show. Let Casey grow into the role. Keep the cast as Casey, Peer, and Brian. Too many people = chaos. The show is still lacking the direction that Jose brought with it. He was clearly the host and didn’t let the discussions veer off. Still a work in progress.
Someone else please replace Casey as a host
Where’s the petition link?
I have been listening to this show for years, beginning back in the Wii U era with José and have always found it wonderful, save for the Filip few months. The show has only gotten better with time. I think Casey is the best show host so far as I have been listening.
Been reading IGN since N64 days and listening to this podcast since the beginning, keep up the great work everyone!
That’s fine with me. 😀 I listen to this show weekly and enjoy it greatly. Very rarely have I been able to watch your show on YouTube. As such, I won’t miss hearing “for those of you watching.” Bc hearing that line always made me jealous. I look forward to hearing how you continue to build this AWESOME NINTENDO SHOW! May the Triforce be with you.
The new the legend of Zelda links awakening on the switch so I can play it on the go with out a TV!!!!!!! Not like the SNES when you had to have a TV. THANK YOU NINTENDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Content was so good when they had Nintendo Editor. More focused on games and someone had the time to play the games. Peer, Brian and Zach are awesome but NVC is not their primary roll. I feel in the last few months content has been bland. I miss Jose, and yes even Filip.
While the insight on this podcast is top notch, it’s the grouping of personalities that really makes this a weekly “must listen” for me! Great rotating cast of informed and funny hosts along with a solid group of regulars.
I LOVE playing my Nintendo switch. Thx Nintendo
You guys are SPAWSOME!!! Please give Brian a hug!
Love it nice to see a podcast dedicated to Nintendo
Weeeeeeeeeeelcome to my review of this podcast! NVC is a good one that I try to listen to every week. They always provide an entertaining and enjoyable show. They do a good job of providing Nintendo news and have interesting opinions/discussions. Jose was great as a host that I thought provided really good insight on a lot of topics and I miss that but Zach is doing a very good job. He’s certainly entertaining and much better than the previous host. If he were to become the full time leader of NVC, I think most would be happy with that.
This show had gone downhill for awhile, but the last two episodes have been a great return to form. I can get Nintendo news anywhere but they make it fun. I love that they are loose and bantering again.
I had to unsubscribe (as I did other IGN shows) because of their persistent offensive language. I'm not talking about four letter words, necessarily, but their apparent disregard for people of faith. Why do some hosts constantly need to say "G-- damnit!" This podcast shouldn't be marked "Clean" or for kids if they want to use such offensive language. Please, don't say that on the air.
Now that Filip is gone the show might get a host that knows what they’re doing!
I am so glad Zach is the new host of NVC. Much better than the previous host, who I won’t name because of his circumstances leaving IGN. Great show everyone, will keep listening!
I always felt like the host was phoning this show in. Now he's been fired for plaigerism, and my suspicions have been confirmed. Really disappointed.
Had been listening to the show for quite some time but had to stop when Filip took the lead, it just never sat right with me, he was so generic and such a fanboy that I felt I couldn’t trust his opinions. Funny how right I was, dummy got himself fired for plagiarism, looser. So glad I can start listening to this podcast again, thanks ign. #letpearhost
This show used to be awesome, but now it’s led by a guy who plagiarizes his work and never even owned a Wii U. His lack of passion couldn’t be more evident :(
This pod is a great source of Nintendo information! I totally love listening to it on my drives and getting the latest news. However, there has been a clear change since Filip has been in charge to do much more for their stream and YouTube audiences. I roll my eyes at least once an episode as he proclaims that there is a clip that they are watching and the usual descriptor is that “it looks so good.” Since the information is still viable, I’m still listening, but please make sure to remember that a good chunk of your audience is not actually watching. It IS called voice chat, after all...
The Gold Standard for video game podcasting!
Where I come for all of my Nintendo news and laughs. Keep up the great work!
I'm a new listener to NVC, but so far I've found it to be the most reliable and varied source of information about available and upcoming Switch games. I've listened to a chunk ot the episodes released since the Switch came out, and the panelists are entertaining to listen to and have good insight. This is the audio-only version of a show that is also released as video, so they do occassionally refer to footage that is playing on something being "on camera." That hasn't been too much of a problem. If they introduce a game that sounds interesting, I'll go online to check out its trailer after the episode is over.
Although I’ve been listening to NVC for a while, it wasn’t until recently that after listening to the most recent episodes that I’ve finally decided to buy a switch! Just listening to the mixed cast of NVC and how everyone enjoys the switch and what they get out of it really pushed me towards this amazing system. The podcast is amazing and everyone’s personality brings something different to the table, Brian, Pierre, Philip continue doing a great job!
Filip seems lost amongst the more confident personalities. Too many “um’s, uh’s, so’s”. Peer, Brian and Zach are great, providing perspective, history of Nintendo, detail, and humor. Replacing Jose will be a very tough challenge. I will listen but skip to all the parts where everyone except Filip is talking.
They started a segment called “Skip of the Week” where the host giggles through the poorer parts of lesser games in the name of journalistic critique. Full disclosure I am still subscribed; I just fast forward over the section when the giggling starts.
I love my Switch, and I love this podcast. The hosts are so dynamic, and they’re all so...wholesome. Like, they’re just nice to each other and filled with joy whenever they’re talking about Nintendo. That’s not to say they don’t rag on each other, cause they totally do. But you just get this sense of camaraderie between them. The show is really well organized, and stays on topic, which is rare in video game podcasts (I don’t mind some tangents, but we’re here to here gaming news, not your tight five). I look forward to this podcast every week and wish it was released twice weekly. Thanks for being awesome!
Finally something about Nintendo
I have fallen out of listening to the podcast. Love the supporting cast with Peer, Brian, Casey, Dornbush, Zach and recently Lilly. My issue is that Filip is not good with keeping a good fluidity in conversation and constantly uses “uh, um, so yeah” and so on. It’s distracting and not good. At first I felt like he would get better or was nervous from being new on, but it’s been months and to me it’s just a sore thumb. I thought Zach did a nice job during the transition after Jose departed.
The only downside is that there's not more.
Just started listening a few weeks ago and have been quickly going through the backlog of shows. I love the commentary and the personalities on this show. Thanks for bringing quality news and discussion to the community!
I love this show and listen to it every week. However, recently it has become very unfriendly to audio only listeners. Even creative editing for the audio only feed would be much appreciated
Started listening last year when Filip took over hosting duties. Wanted to give him a fair shake, but after all this time he’s a little too awkward to keep me listening. Also Zach Ryan is a consistent jerk to others. If his whole thing is a bit it’s a bad bit, if it’s not a bit then he’s just a bad person. Best part of the show is when they discuss new indie or otherwise releases on the eShop to give them some exposure.
Really great podcast! Best one of the IGN shows.
Too many direct references to video being shown on the video version of the show without any explanation of what's being shown. When they do describe footage, it's done poorly or after the topic has been discussed for several minutes already. I used to be a big fan of this show, but now it's not enjoyable at all. I would recommend the people working on the show watch morning ESPN radio shows that are broadcasted on TV as well to see how they can improve NVC for their listening audience. Please don't take this criticism as me hating the people on the show. I think most of the people featured on the show are fun. I just want the quality of the show to improve without hurting some of the audience.
Awesome show! Always look forward to listening every week. Keep up the good work!
I love listening to this show! These guys provide laughs and gaming news at the same time. They are the ones who truly sold me on the switch. Plus I always know what good games to buy because of them. I look forward to every Friday so I can listen to a new NVC episode. Keep up the great work!
This is the best podcast ever hands down. I listen every week and can't wait for the next one. These guys know how to make a podcast fun and exciting while covering everything Nintendo does and it's amazing! Love hearing everyone's opinions on the news each week. Keep up the great work 5 stars!!!!
Kind of pains me to write this, but the show is much better when Peer hosts. Largely because he speaks very well and knows so much about Nintendo, it shows. Brian, and Zach now, are both doing great and their chemistry is fun. Filip has potential and I don’t hate the guy like some here, but his speech delivery and maybe reading skills are a bit below the standard we had been become accustomed to with Jose. He stumbles and for the podcast & videos it’s not great. I’m also slightly irked on some of his basic takes on his favorite games, while not seeming to know much about large franchises like Fire Emblem or Pokémon for example. I dunno, maybe he can be on panel but not host yet? Can’t really see a reason to respect his knowledge or takes, I feel like my friends and I know more than he does yet he’s nintendo editor at IGN. Think he just needs practice, not too sure but I get the feeling he likely did a bunch of takes on his YouTube videos. Anyway comment over, I respect if anyone disagrees but hoping someone at IGN reads this. Will always be a fan regardless
New host needs to step it up. Everyone else is wonderful, but he really brings the show down. He contributes next to nothing and does not moderate or direct conversation in any sort of interesting way. He also is also [still] constantly fumbling and stumbling his words, which was acceptable when he was starting out, but months on, it just seems like he isn’t good at doing live recorded content. Very cringey. To top it off, he doesn’t really seem like much of a Nintendo fan, I might be wrong on that, but I say this because: 1) he either makes a very generically positive statement about a game or topic discussed (he should also challenge himself to not use the words “cool”, “crazy” or the phrases “I’m really excited for...” or “the game is good because it’s potable/you can take it on the go”, for a few weeks) or, 2) he literally just echoes one of the other guest’s or cohost’s opinions with almost zero new words added to his own statement! I find myself taking longer and longer to play these. IGN, please train this dude if you want him on here and believe in him so much. I feel like I’m actually asleep in a coma, in crazy land, that he is still actually hosting this show. Sorry to sound like a jerk.
I love the show! Keep up the good work guys! Extremely random question: Can any of you beatbox? If so, can you drop a sick beat at the beginning of an episode? Thanks!
A weekly highlight for the commute. This team provides a lot of good insight by way of reviews, first hand experiences, and personal opinions of Nintendo hardware and software. Do yourselves a favor and subscribe!
I have been a listener even way before “Craig-ways”. I can always count on you guys and gals for constructive, hilarious Nintendo banter. I love your passion for all things Nintendo and Gaming and I’ll be a NVC-er for LIFE! Thanks for all you do! - Bucky Flores
Love this podcast. I know the new host will get into his groove soon! Have faith, friends!
Hi guys I love watching you all talk about what you love,Games, and give me a chance to learn a lot about industry topics. I leave every episode feeling like I enjoyed myself and learned something new and interesting! I Encourage you all to keep doing whatever makes you happy and be Awesome while doing it! Happy New Year!
Info is great, personalities are great. Biggest issue is with Filip and his use of filler words constantly. Saying Umm, ahh, and but... Yeah are really tough to listen to every other sentence. I used to watch his channel on YouTube and was a big fan but he seems so unpolished that it’s really detracting.
used to dig this, but Phil has made listening intolerable
But I'm very much looking forward to when Filip doesn't feel so awkward about hosting it. I'm sure by the end of this year he'll find his groove.
I really like this podcast, when it works. More often than not when I try to listen to the newest episode of NVC I get a notification that the episode is currently unavailable and I typically have to wait a week to listen to it. It is very frustrating and no other podcast I listen to has this issue.
For fans of Nintendo, look no further than IGN’s Nintendo Voice Chat Podcast. This is an always-interesting, often-insightful weekly discussion about all things Nintendo. I’ve been listening for several years and through a few team changes, and each person on the show offers very well thought out opinions and perspectives coming from a background of game industry knowledge. Highly recommended.
I just started listening to these guys about two months ago. Thank you for keeping it clean and not resorting to just swearing the whole time. You are funny and I enjoy listening to fans of Nintendo. I also bought Steamworld dig 2 because of you guys. Keep up the good content.
This is going to sound really mean but sometimes you’ve got to voice your opinion regardless. The new host, the YouTuber, is cringeworthy. He’s even worse to watch when I flip on NVC on YouTube. Schneider needs to host. Or pay Oterro a lot of money and get him back from Nintendo. I’m not saying YouTuber shouldn’t be on the show. I’m saying he can’t and shouldn’t host.
Not a bad show. More regular than the Nintendo Power Podcast, but still could improve the chemistry of the hosts.
The podcast is super informative about everything Nintendo, but still allows you to feel like another chair in the room. I've loved all the hosts from Audrey and Rich, Brian and Jose, and now Phil. The inclusion of Peer every week is also a special treat as an NVC listener. Looking forward to all the great years to come with Phil before Nintendo inevitabley hires him ;). PS Get that Samuel Claibourne guy on more, it's the mustache a Nintendo podcast deserves!
I feel Unlocked has a better flow and cast but still a pretty solid show.
Love the show especially the extensive knowledge and enthusiasm. There’s so much going on in the Nintendo world and you guys are covering it well. Appreciate how you cater to both the YouTube side in the Podcasts side. One criticism if I may. Filip you got to stop saying “I’m excited to see...” and possibly contribute a little more. I feel bad saying this I imagine it’s hard starting a new job moving and having to have a personality on a podcast. I bet over time you’ll start to feel more comfortable on the show. It’s just, if you guys played transitional music whenever you speak instead it would have about the same effect.
This show is absolutely amazing. I’ve been a listener for a long time now. Brian and Zach together has to always be a good time, they crack me up. Brian, Zach, Peer, and the newest host Flip do an amazing job. Love listening to this crew.
I'd give this show a 5 star review but their last show had a title saying portal was coming to switch. Total click bait headline. This is not ok nor acceptable. I don't want this kind of BS to be everywhere.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed listening to NVC for over a year now and having listened to other VG podcasts, this one is undoubtedly the most informative & entertaining with a very fun personality. Keep up the great work NVC team! :)
I’ve been listening for years and NVC keeps getting better. Peer and Brian have always had great insight into the world of Nintendo and the additions of Filip and Zach just make it better. Keep up the great work!
I’ve been watching for a longtime and I love everyone’s opinion on the shown and just hearing people talk about Nintendo games with love like I do is just the best. Especially since I have no gaming friends thanks for being here for me me every week. Would love to be able to send gifts for the show if let me know where to send 😁 Your friend Don Honeycutt Ps we really need metal gear on switch !
This show has been, and continues to be, one of my favorite Podcasts to listen to each week! Phillip has been a great addition and the veterans continue to be informative, thought provoking and entertaining all while remaining family friendly. If I could rate this as 6 stars I would!
NVC has been great to listen to, but just as some other reviews are starting to stay, Filip, the new host, is bringing things down. Peer was doing an awesome job leading and I wish it could have stayed that way. Filip, I don't want to be harsh, just constructive. You speak like you are reading a script with a ton of fake enthusiam (filled with many "ums") as if you have nothing real or genuine to say. I really want you to succeed because I love IGN and I want you to enjoy your time there, but you need to work on how you communicate with a group. You should take a team bonding camping trip or something! I hope you guys are willing to address these things instead of bribing listeners to give you 5 stars to hear their name on the show.
I don’t get to play as many video games as I’d like to anymore and these guys really fill the void and help me decide which games are worth my time. 5 stars!
Hello my name is Gage a long time Nintendo fan and a fan of podcasts and this is one of the best podcasts you can find for all Nintendo things funny relatable and reliable for news keep up all your great work ign!
Been a listener for many years and I truly appreciate everyone’s hard work and dedication. Welcome to Filip; you’re doing an awesome job so far! Keep it up! One thing that I’ve wondered for some time is, how come you guys don’t offer the video version of your podcast? I’d rather download it than have to watch it exclusively on YouTube.
Loved the Pierre and Jose led voice chats but this guy Philip sounds way too much like a Youtuber it's honestly hard to listen to. All the fake enthusiasm and stereotypical "lets play" language is awful. Please change the host
Love love this show keep it up guys thanks again
I have been an NVC fan for years, watching every weeks episode. I have been watching the show since Sam Claiborn hosted, then Jose Otero to the amazing Peer Schneider. NVC has always been that little something special keeping me going each week, providing me with the best Nintendo news around. Stuff you just couldn't find anywhere while also interjecting their opinions based on their expertease and knowledge. Up until recently I would have given NVC 5 stars all day. However, with the new host Filip the show has gone down hill, has no personality, very little Nintendo knowledge, has a strangely hard time controlling his arms and hands from moving all over the place while he talks which makes for a very distracting experience due to the fact that nobody else at any time does that and it makes him seem even more fake. He is the new host, he’s been hosting for weeks yet he sits their silent throughout most of the show, fails to lead the discussion or guide it in anyway, has litteraly no control of the table. The content he prepares each week is insanely weak compared to the amount of effort put in by the prior hosts, to be frank it feels like he takes a trip down page one of the Switch reddit and calls it a day. I mean hes talking about stuff that was breaking news a week prior that should have been covered on the prior show and yes while motioning with arms and hands all over the place. This is not a bash Filip post, but moreover a plead to Peer Schneider to make a change. So many of us hold NVC in a very high regard. We clamor for each weeks episode because we truly love the show that much. Since Filip has become the host I and others feel like the show died and can't even watch it anymore. Please make a change.... the level of quality, genuineness, prestige and care has all fallen to the wayside. Something needs to happen here.
I've been a fan for years and even went to Pax Seattle just to see a live recording. The team members balance professionalism with personality so well. They're truly Nintendo fans while able to be critical when they need to. My only complaint is that Sam Claiborne interupts people a lot. Makes my brain hurt when I want to hear someone complete their sentences. Consider it constructive critism. =)
I’ve been listening to Nintendo voice chat for about 3 years now. IGN reminded me why I loved Nintendo 10 years ago during the Cassamassina era, but Peer and Co. (now -Jose and + Filip), took things to the next level. I don’t always have time to play every game but I love to keep up with the industry, especially Nintendo. Thanks guys. It really is a treat every week.
This is one of my favorite weekly podcasts. For awhile the “GM” of IGN hosted which was great, and the new host Filip is getting better every week Only feedback...get some intro music!
This is a great Nintendo podcast. The hosts all have a great sense of humor and chemistry. They also all know a lot about Nintendo’s history and are able to bring that information back and apply it to today’s games. I cannot recommend this enough!
Love the entire team behind this podcast, they really know their stuff. My only gripes are that sometimes they try to talk at the same time and speak over one another, they aren’t always close to the mic so sometimes a cast member sounds distant and the overuse of the word “mechanic”. Listen to the Super Mario Odyssey spoiler cast and you’ll see what I mean. I only nitpick because I truly do enjoy Peer and his team and I want them to be the best they can be. Aside from that, I love hearing what they have to say and I never miss a show. Keep up the great work NVC!
I know you’re living it up, but we desperately need you back on NVC. It’s gotten drier than Tostarena sand in recent weeks. Come back and bring a dose a miucinex! I still give it five stars though. 👍
I listen every week and I enjoy every second of it. I love that there is always some Nintendo news to talk about now. I love everyone that rotates onto the show! keep up the great work and I will catch you down the road!
So, I listen to the show every week without fail. The conversations are always great and these guys have really deep knowledge on Nintendo. The only problem I’ve found with the show is its lacks a voice “Like Mine”. The show need a unique voice. It needs a verse cast of voices from different cultural backgrounds. Sometimes, everyone sounds the same and I kind of get lost with who’s talking. If there was maybe an ethnic voice with a little more energy to spice things up a bit. This show would be flawless. I also wish there was a little more bit, as no one ever challenges anyone’s in conversation. There is no debating. Just dry opinions and facts. Let’s spice it up. Keep me on my toes while I listen. Regardless I love the show and will keep listening as long as it’s available.
The best Nintendo podcast....
PLEASE HELP. I drop my Switch in the toilet 4-9 times a day-any tips on how you guys keep your Switches clean and pristine?
Any podcast that knows the plural form of the word “amiibo” is “amiibo” is a 5 star podcast in book.
Listen to you guys every week. Peer is a champion. This is a must listen if you are a Nintendo fan. P.S. I need the Virtual Console on Switch ASAP!
This always hits every aspect of the Nintendo world. Numbers, reviews, news... The best of the best. HOLLA AT ME BOYZ
When Brian Boitano was in the alps, Fighting grizzly bears, He used his magical fire breath, And saved the maidens fair.
Absolutely love the show it gets me through the work day. Brian I listen to the comedy button also so you are the one who got me on this podcast. Love Nintendo and just listened to episode 380 and figured I'd add a game that idk if it gets a lot of praise or attention but I love it. SNES "The Lost Vikings" keep up the awesome work you all do and can't wait to get a switch.
As a lifelong video game fan, and a Nintendo fan this podcast is pure gold. Great info on all things Nintendo old and current. It’ll make you laugh, cry, and cringe. But it’s all good. Keep it up guys, it’s such a great listen. Thanks!!
Best Nintendo podcast. Planning to get a neon switch this week. Love Filip 😘
This an entertaining and upbeat podcast and a must-listen for any Nintendo enthusiast. The mix of regular and rotating cast members keep things fresh (Splatoon-style), and the podcast length is great for a commute. I can't wait for you to bring back Jose for a Nintendo insider interview, and I hope Per has manage to wrangle some discounted amiibo out of him. Keep up the good work.
I listen to NVC when I do my cardio, and it helps keep my mind occupied by thinking about Nintendo instead of thinking about how miserable it is to run wind sprints. Also, few things motivate a man to run more than a Brian Altano “Brrrap! Brap!” This leads to me being able to burn more calories, which makes me feel less guilty about eating Taco Bell, which makes me happy. Thank you, NVC! In all seriousness, though, this is my favorite podcast. I never miss a week. The team is funny and upbeat, and there is no better source for Nintendo information. Sincere thanks, and keep up the good work!
Nintendo Voice Chat has been going on for many years and has consistently been a great podcast for Nintendo news, impressions, and insight. Through the years there have been many insightful and humorous regulars (who often get pilfered by Nintendo to become employees there!) but every replacement and new voice has been great. A great weekly listen for any level of Nintendo fan
I always look forward to a new NVC each week, offering the best commentary on past and present Nintendo news/opinions. Thanks guys
You know that sad feeling you get on Saturday when you realize that you already listened to this week’s episode of NVC and you have to wait 6 more days until the next one? Prepare for that feeling.
Y’all have been absolutely great! I can’t wait to get my Switch this holiday season and share my experiences with the NVC community. Just wanted to say thank you for all the laughs and insightfulness!
I have loved video games for a long time, especially Nintendo. I won’t say how long. However one of the reasons I enjoy the show is because some of the guys are as old as I am 😀. They are always entertaining and I love listening on my way to work.
Next year, there will have been four Indian jones movies for half my life.
There's only one podcast I literally count the days down to and it's NVC. I've been thirsting for everything Nintendo since the Switch announcement (I've had my Switch since day one) and I find this podcast to be a comforting place for us Nintendonians. I love all of the casters (Brian you're beautiful) and I think Filip is a great addition! One of my favorite things about the show is that they go through the new games releasing on the Switch and that they've played them. I mean, at least one of them has *cough* Brian *cough*. Great show guys! Keep it up!
I found you on YouTube as a recommendation because I love watching IGN... and I’m so glad I found you. You guys are so much fun to listen to... Let’s keep talking Nintendo! I’ll keep listening!
This podcast is hands down my favorite!! I've been listening/watching on YouTube for about 6 months now and look forward to it every week. This podcast is extremely knowledgeable, yet it will make you laugh many of times. Everyone brings such a good and positive vibe, which represents Nintendo at its finest. Warning this podcast may make you buy more Nintendo games peeking your interest at every corner;)...your wallet may suffer. Thanks to all of the people at NVC for your hard work making this weekly entertainment happen.
Long time NVC fan and I've always loved this podcast because it's the perfect place to listen to in-depth, interesting conversations about the best games: Nintendo's games. I offer this 5 star review to welcome Filip to the podcast! I'm looking forward to a new era of Nintendo Voice Chat! (Fun Fact: The Snickers candy bar is named after the creator's pet horse)
Love their energy! Great for Nintendo news and info. Always fun to watch and listen to. What does Zach look like without the beard?
I love to listen to NVC on my commute to work! I grew up on Nintendo Power magazines, and NVC makes me feel like I’m connected to the world of Nintendo again. I really value all of their thoughts on newly released games for the Nintendo family of systems, and upcoming projects. I’m also looking forward to Filip’s leadership and the future of the show. Keep up the good work!!
I love this podcast. It’s great to hear the team talk about all of the Nintendo stuff that I love with the same passion that I have.
NVC is a joy to listen to! They keep me up-to-date on all things Nintendo, and provide insight into the games I’m playing. Welcome to NVC, Filip!
The NVC crew continues to highlight my week with their insight and updates on Nintendo. If you are a Nintendo fan or are wanting to get some thoughts on whether to jump aboard the ship or not, this is the place to be. With a mainstay of 4 panel members and a revolving 5th chair, there are many different perspectives brought to the table that you will not find in other podcasts. I look forward to this podcast every week to get news on latest Nintendo news and game releases, and find myself often delighted at how easy it is to relate to the crew and take in the Nintendo discussion that you cannot often have on your own. Keep up the great work.
Awesome Nintendo podcast. Love all the ign shows!
I missed listening to this podcast - which is to say I missed caring about Nintendo. I owned a Wii U (and every Nintendo console going back to N64), but it was starting to feel like Nintendo was losing its magic touch. There were quality releases on the Wii U for sure, but it had been quite a while since my family and I had felt any reason to fire it up and play anything on there. And then the Switch happened. After finally finding one in stock in September I loaded up on Breath of the Wild, Pokken Tournament for my daughter, Mario Rabbids, and eventually Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2. My family and I have been thoroughly enjoying the Switch and it’s nice to see that Nintendo is now back on top of the gaming world again. Which brings me back to this podcast - a weekly celebration of all things Nintendo. There are helpful reviews, informative and entertaining discussions, and exciting previews and speculation about what’s coming in 2018. I haven’t felt this passionate and pleased with a gaming console in a long time. I look forward each week to the hour I can spend with this podcast, simply nerding out over how much fun we’re all having with the Switch. I’m so happy that the NVC crew is finally being rewarded for standing by Nintendo through the dark days. Everyone now has a legitimate reason to feel infectious optimism for all that’s yet to come for this console. The future is certainly bright for Nintendo. Grab a pair of shades, fire up the NVC podcast, and enjoy.
I always love listening to this podcast. Each personality brings something to the table and I'm 100% confident you guys convinced me to buy a switch. When Brian Boitano was in the olympics skating for the gold He did two salchows and a triple lutz While wearing a blind fold.
I always look forward to listening to Peer, Brian, Zack and now Phillip. The most informative podcast for Nintendo related products and news. Very open minded opinions by real people that love games as much as I do.
One of the best Nintendo only related podcast that I listen to. I tune in every week just for updates although I browse a few gaming forums. It’s just nice to here some good opinions and news on Nintendo related stuff
Long time listener and have never been disappointed with any of their shows. I look forward to each weekly episode. They are a awesome team that gives you a incredible hour of fun and insightful news of my favorite gaming system of all time. You guys rock!! Like to give a shout out to Filip, their newest member of the team. You are in for a hell of a good time with these guys. Keep up the great podcasting. Thanks for everything you do for us fans. I truley appreciate it.
This podcast has helped me get through high school and now college, it’s at its best when Brian or Marty are on, but there all great
Greatest IGN podcast i listen to it every week. Thanks crew for the good show.
Just bought a Switch. It helped listening to you all year to get me to make the jump. I would like it if the show had a fun segment at the end like 20 questions
This podcast is just beyond funny and honestly makes my time fly at work. Keep up the great work! PS can we get a new Star Fox on switch already!!!?
Look forward to it every weekend 👌
This is my favorite podcast to listen to by far! I look forward to it every week. The information is always insightful and fun. It’s my go to for information on all things Nintendo and is just a joy to listen to. Thank you for everything! Travis
Enjoy listening to all who verbally travel through the world of Nintendo.
This is one of the better and more informative Nintendo podcasts out there. The hosts are all not only incredibly knowledgeable, but highly entertaining. It reminds me alot of the shows that 1up used to do (which is, as far as I'm concerned, the gold standard of podcasting). One minor gripe: the hosts have a REALLY bad habit of interrupting and talking over each other, which results in portions of the show (sometimes short, sometimes frustratingly lengthy) where you can't understand what anyone is saying. Some hosts in particular *cough*Zach Ryan*cough* are especially guilty of this. It's really a shame, as all of the hosts are contributing relevant and interesting information, and it all just gets lost in the cacophony.
I love Nintendo Voice Chat. I listen to this podcast every weekend on my long commute to my girlfriend’s house. Hell, I prefer listening to you guys than listening to her. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely love this show!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!
As a 40 something Nintendo gamer, I’ve been listening to Peer’s recommendations for a long time. You won’t find a better group to spend your weekend listening to about Nintendo.
Nintendo is the best and so are these guys! By far my favorite gaming talk show.
I've only listened to the show beginning of this summer. With a tedious summer job as a parking lot attendant, you get bored fairly quickly. I'm happy to say your discussions have reinvigorated my love for the amazing library Nintendo has provided in the last decades, and most importantly this year. All of you persuaded me into purchasing a switch, and I thank you for that. While on my shifts, I would listen to other IGN pods. Here is where the suggestion comes in. While listening to Game Scoop, I highly looked forward to their 20 questions segment. I would love to see some type of weekly or biweekly NVC game that increases the viewer participation in the show on top of the questions block. I'd love to see the show grow and expand as Nintendo's success has drastically improved this year. Thanks for the great discussions and I look forward to diving into Odyssey as soon as I can with a hectic college schedule. Thanks guys! Jackson Gallagher (in case you're interested, in a current sophomore at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA).
These guys are the best. High quality and very entertaining. I listen every week and can't wait for the next one to drop.
Listening to NVC is what got me excited for Nintendo again. The panel is very knowledgable and enthusiastic about gaming on the Nintendo platform!
The hosts always have a good analysis of recent Nintendo events and in-depth reviews of new games. And because they've been in the games industry for such a long time, they really have a lot of good insight into what direction Nintendo could take next. That really helped me get through Nintendo's dry spell that persisted during the Wii U era and before the Switch was released.
Thank you IGN crew for this show! As a lifelong gamer and Nintendo fan, I really appreciate everyone’s unique knowledge and insight to the brand and games. This show has become a part of my commute on the train and I look forward to it every week, so keep up the great work!
Guys, get closer to your mics please! Some of your comments get lost when listening when you lower your voices or seem to move away from the microphones.
Peer, Bryan, Zach, and the ever rotating fourth chair do a great job. Funny, informative, and entertaining. It’s mostly family friendly, but ever once and a while they drop an F bomb or some other non-kid friendly word. So I don’t get to listen with my kids. 4 stars for me.
I really love the people on the panel each week. The info is awesome. I really enjoy almost everything about this podcast. I just wish that they wouldn’t swear so much. I can’t listen to it with my kids which is such a shame. Fix this and I’ll give you five stars for sure. Thanks guys!
Hello guys been listening for years now, love to hear you guys discuss all-nintendo stuff, you keep me up to date and make my drive to work a lot more tolerable.
This is the best podcast for learning about the Atari Jaguar that Peer never had. Oh, and it is the most thoughtful and well produced Nintendo broadcast. I hope IGN creates SVC, Switch Voice Chat -- because, well, Nintendo needs just a little help with that..
The only Nintendo podcast worth listening to....go ahead try to name another.
It was hand. 10/10.
Great podcast, it reminds me of tacos and how good they are. 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮
I’ve been listening to NVC for about a year now and it is my go to news every week for Nintendo news. Even things you might not even know about they cover (I.E all the switch indie games). Love listening to Zach, Peer and all the the other guys that show up on the show and continue to both inform and entertain week in and week out. Love the show and Keep up the great work I can’t wait to see happens for the show going forward!! -Zaid Eideh
I was initially into this podcast, the team seemed to have a good chemistry and it was entertaining to listen to; however, nowadays they’re caught up in the race to beat everyone to the scoop on new games and more often than not their reviews suffer because they haven’t fully researched or played what they’re discussing. I’d suggest another podcast like Retronauts or the CU podcast.
I’ve never owned a Nintendo Home console, so I’ve missed most of Nintendo’s library but I love this podcast and always look forward to it. Can’t wait to eventually buy a switch and start playing all the awesome games I keep hearing about.
The IGN crew is amazing - they are informed, enthusiastic and have great insights into the Nintendo ecosphere! One of my favorite podcasts, and I don't even own a Switch yet! :)
One of the few podcasts I listen to every week
Follow-up: Fixed it...upgraded to 5 star!!!!!! Also, sorry about my criticisms. When you read them on the show, they sounded way more harsh than I meant them to. Great job, keep up the excellent work Prior Comment: I really enjoy the show. I was recently able find to buy a Switch that I'm loving and the input and opinions about games is very helpful in making purchasing decisions. 2 minor complaints (these actually apply to all the IGN podcasts I listen to): 1) please stay in front of he microphone while speaking. It's really annoying to try and listen to a show and have people fade away. 2) Please find some way to stop the constant mic banging. Again, it wakes it really hard to enjoy listening/watching IGN podcasts. Other than that your show is great. Keep up the good work.
I don't even have a Nintendo console...yet. Still I listen to all the IGN podcasts. NVC is my way of keeping up to date with Nintendo news. Keep up the good work everyone, and thank you.
Great podcast with great people passionate about Nintendo. The only small drawback would be that I would like more female voices on the panel more often but otherwise download and listen weekly or watch the YouTube channel! :)
I was not into podcasts until I started listening to this show and “Game Scoop.” Keep up the good work! #iamnotthejump
This show may have lost the best host going around, but the iconic Peer and the strength of the other panelists (greater than the sum of their parts) means this is still the best Nintendo podcat (although I now watch it on YouTube with my Saturday morning breakfast)
NVC is just delightful. Every week I get to hear news and noteworthy topics about my favorite video game company from experts in the industry. Special shoutout to Zach Ryan and Peer Schneider - two of the realest people at IGN. Keep up the great work, gents (and sometimes ladies).
This podcast is the bombdiggidy yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo.
Nintendo voice chat has always been at the top of my list for Nintendo podcasts and is my favorite of all the iGN programs. I was concerned when Jose departed but Peer and the other hosts have been fantastic. Their passion for gaming and knowledge of Nintendo games specifically is impressive and infectious. I love the passion that Peer and Brian have for the historic franchises. Great job all around.
I have been out of the Nintendo gaming scene since the N64. The Switch brought me back and this show is the perfect companion to keep me up to date on all things Nintendo. Keep up the great work!
Peer told me to write a good review so here it is! 🤙🏻
I highly recommended listening to this podcast if you are a Nintendo Fan.
Been listening for years. Essential listening for any self respecting Nintendo fan.
Definitely the best Nintendo podcast out there. Very little virtual boy coverage though. Step it up guys!
Great show !!!
This podcast is really cool, I like the members of this podcast especially. Every episode is great and I always enjoy what they have to say about Nintendo!
I’ve been listening to you all for years now, and this is my first time writing a review. You all do such a great job of bringing the latest news and info about Nintendo to the four front. I enjoy all the witty banter and the great relationship you all share with each other. Say hey to Jose for me and don’t change and keep it coming.
Always entertaining, easily the best gaming related podcast available right now. Even though Zach pronounces Mario completely wrong :D
NVC is by far my favorite gaming podcast out there! Knowledgeable hosts, great topics, timely updates and always a fun listen. Keep up the great work IGN!
I have no friends who are gamers at all. NVC lets me hear gaming conversation that I never get. Enjoy everyone’s personality. Would love to meet Peer and Brian and the whole crew someday! Keep living the dream for the rest of us.
I’ve been listening since the days of Bozon and Matt Cassamassina. I cannot express how much the show has improved since Otero's departure. Always fun to listen to; the crew sounds like they're having a good time; and they always provide valuable and informed insight. Great work guys!
I personally love Nintendo voice chat (nvc) because it helps me get through the tough times like the California fires and I listen to nvc keep up the new work
Every Week I can barely wait to hear whats going on with the big N. Nintendo Voice Chat is by far the best way to keep update on all things Nintendo. With Peer in the captain's chair how can you lose? Thats rhetorical you can't.
Been listening for over a year now. Enjoy the discussions about Nintendo. Been a die hard Nintendo fan since I was 6 years old. Glad I can hear other opinions and praises for one of my favorite companies. Thanks for the great show every week. Cheers
I’ve listened through several eras of NVC and though the hosts have changed over the years, the quality has remained consistently strong. This dedicated group of IGN heavy hitters always delivers fair, knowledgeable, and entertaining opinions which has helped to broaden my perspective and keep me in the loop even when Nintendo’s direction didn’t speak to me (looking at you, Wii U). NVC has become a staple of my gaming week and I’m looking forward to (hopefully many) more years to come. Keep up the good work guys, it’s wildly appreciated <3
This is the only podcast that I listen to where I never skip an episode! Thanks for constantly being entertaining while dropping hot Nintendo knowledge.
This show does such a great job discussing all things Nintendo in a thoughtful way. I’ve been listening weekly since José revamped things and look forward to watching or listening each week (with my morning coffee) either in the car or on their awesome YouTube channel. The new set is great, the vlog is a cool addition, keep up the great work!
Informative and entertaining. IGN puts out super-polished content and Nintendo Voice Chat is a great example of this. Peer Schneider has done great carrying the torch since Jose Otero left to realize his dream at Nintendo.
Awesome podcast! Very informative and interesting! Best podcast ever!
I enjoyed NVC for some time beforehand. However, stop listening due to Jose Otero. Jose was not a good personality for the show in my opinion. Would cut conversations short and was overall too structured for a podcast. And too opinionated. Now that he is gone, I have returned. The new group of folks that have joined Peer are great. I do miss Jared Petty, however.
Coming from a person who love Nintendo as a kid and he’s back to loving it as it came out of that slump this podcast keeps me so informed, and knowledgeable at work in our video game department.
I’ve been listening for about a year, and have to say this is the podcast I enjoy the most. Topics are discussed thoroughly and the hosts are very entertaining. A must listen if you enjoy Nintendo or video games. Also check their YouTube channel for the video version. Thanks for all the hard work guys! Mac-
This one is always my first listen- even if I’m in the middle of another podcast. This is the best place for fans of Nintendo!
I've been a listener since Jose Otero's era; and I love it too with Peer. If you are looking to enjoy Nintendo games, don't listen to this podcast. But if you are willing to LOVE Nintendo games, this podcast feels like home. Great job guys! Keep doing it!
This have great perspective and info.
Been NVC since day 1, great podcast
I love listening to NVC every week! NVC is a great place to get all my Nintendo news, and the group that does it every week is always hilarious! I do miss Jose though :(
I love IGN’S organization with podcast. I love that the fact that they have personality and don’t sound uninterested and boring compared to the PC Gamer Podcast and GI Podcast. One of the only places I’d choose to get Gaming news from
Peer and his team at NVC have consistently produced an exciting and diverse Nintendo discussion every week. I always make sure to catch not only their podcast, but their video version as well. Their passion and knowledge are unmatched in the industry!
In the midst of news of dread all over the world on main news networks, NVC puts a light hearted news source right on my phone any time I need it. Thanks guys and gals if IGN. Y'all rock. Springfield, MO
I love NVC. Thanks to this podcast i have something to licen to every saterday morning at 2am on my way to work. They keep me up to date on the latest ninendo news and give feedback on what is out and coming out. Thanks to them i keep spending money on some nintndo game port product every week. Thank you and keep up the great work. love you
Hands down the best Nintendo podcast. Rich in detail with a host of knowledgable Nintendo fans. Timely news and all things Nintendo are discussed. Over the years I have grown to really love every host and although they don't know me or most of the other listeners I really feel like they are giving their best to make this show better every week. BRRRRAPPP BRAPPPP!
Stumbled upon Nintendo Voice Chat while scrolling through the multitude of Podcasts on iOS and Im LOVING every week. The panel is always super knowledgable and interested on everything nintendo and also they have fun while reporting all nintendo news. Been following for about a month now and Id recommend NVC to other Nintendo fans out there.
Peer, Brian, Ryan and the crew give great analysis of Nintendo week in and week out. They have the right balance of silliness and seriousness to go with a great depth of Nintendo knowledge. Give them a listen!
The one podcast I make sure to listen to every week. Keep up the great work!
Very informative and professional produced.
I check Reddit and twitter way too much for switch news. NVC weekly still has surprises and impressive break down. I look forward to every episode. Keep it up!
Loved this one, just as much as all the others! Really enjoy your show, folks. Please continue to host this podcast and keep the content on an upward trend. Best wishes.
I try to listen to other gaming podcasts but the presentation, character, knowledge, and overall quality of IGN wins in my book hands down! Great job! Thank You
Thus audio podcast recently started producing a video podcast for YouTube/IGN in addition to this feed. The move to simultaneously produce video content has overall hurt this podcast. Still the best Nintendo-focused feed out there, but used to be so much better.
If you are a fan of Nintendo, this is a must listen. The hosts have incredible knowledge, up to date news and great humor. I have been listening for years and it just gets better.
Thanks for always giving us the latest dish on all things Nintendo.
Really miss Jose, but still love the show
It used to be very good podcast when they were audio-only. I was listening to episode 371 and the trivia section with fast cuts felt very out-of-place. It's like they just extract audio from video version and put it on iTunes, not caring that the content will be suitable for audio listeners or not. This really made me sad, as I really enjoy it otherwise.
It's just sad it isn't in video form on iTunes since the hosts are so handsome. ;)
7.8, too much water
Excellent podcast with a great cast of knowledgeable people.
Great content for Nintendo fans and very topical of all things Nintendo and video games.
I actually usually watch it, but if I don't have time I listen to the podcast. Good insights, great topics, and an incredible cast that varies from show to show.
Well represented cast that brings a realistic view of nintendo - looks at both successes and shortcomings - entertaining as well! My only wish is that there was enough content to do two episodes a week.
Great pod cast been listening for the past two year Peer has been doing a great job as the new host but I do miss the Nintendo melody at the beginning, end and during the podcast. I hope they bring them back it just gave it that extra something to the podcast
Love the weekly Nintendo catch-up!
This Nintendo podcast is hosted by numerous hosts from the internets best online gaming website IGN. They're intelligent, entertaining and full of great information for all Nintendo fans.
First off, I want to shoutout @IGNDeals for getting me my MSRP Gray Joy-Con Switch on Amazon Prime! So glad I was able to finally get my hands on one. You guys (and, occasionally, gals) are my favorite car trip or laundry duty distraction. Your informative but at times hilarious style keeps me waiting to see what will happen in the world of Nintendo week after week after week of no Mother 3 localization. Seriously, where the hell is that game? Anyways, 5-star podcast that I have recommended to all my Nintendo fanboy friends. I am looking forward to what will come from you next. Caleb from NY.
Awesomsauce. Enough said.
I listen to several podcasts every week ranging from Video Games, Pop Culture and Wrestling. When I drive by myself the podcasts are what I listen too. That all being said NVC is the podcast I look forward to the most every week. Keep up the great work Pierre and friends.
If you play Nintendo then add this to your podcast list right now. I go here to get insight for all things related to Nintendo. On a weekly show you'll probably hear discussions on games for Nintendo platforms, events that showcase games, and answer some fan mail. A few special report shows I really enjoyed had special guest come on talking about the history of gaming. They also have a youtube ch which can come in handy to view hands on impressions. Miss you Jose but hope the show continues being a success moving forward.
As a huge Nintendo fan, this is the only Nintendo podcast I listen to. The personalities are great, they have wonderful guests come by, and you can tell that everyone on the show is sincerely passionate about Nintendo and gaming.
Peer is doing a awesome job running he show, I really look forward to it every week. Keep up the awesome job guys!!
Enjoyable and fair. :)
This is probably my favorite podcast of all time, they are consistently funny and informative. They aren't afraid to be critical, so I always trust their reviews! For fans of Nintendo or video games, or just being alive! Definitely worth the subscribe, and they even have a YouTube version if that suits your fancy!
I've been watching/listening to IGN's other podcasts, i.e. Beyond!, Unlocked, & Gamescoop for a couple months now, and I just recently started listening to NVC due to me purchasing a switch. It's great to be able to catch up on all the new releases and Nintendo news I would normally blow right over. Love the show and thanks Peer, Bryan, and Zach for all the great info!
Thanks IGN for this informative, funny, and entertaining podcast. I'm so very happy to have my Switch and 3DS and this podcast is the perfect compliment to my two favorite toys. Keep em coming and I look forward to future shows!
I've been listening to these guys (and gals, occasionally) for years (since Jose began hosting) and during the dark times when life kept me away from gaming, they kept me connected and excited about the latest releases and events in Nintendoland. Always entertaining, informative, and engaging. Five stars!
This is a great Nintendo podcast. Family friendly and glad that Peer has gotten a chance to host. His experience with Nintendo and first hand knowledge is exceptional.
This is a fun Podcast all about Nintendo. Great listen, but maybe a bit too pro-Nintendo at times for my personal taste.
Good luck to Jose at Nintendo! Peer is doing an excellent job filling in! Brian is so funny! I listen every week, keep the great conversations coming!
I was a little late to the party, but I've been enjoying the show since I found it.
I've been listening to this podcast ever since I got into podcasting so it's pretty sad to see Jose leave but I wish him the best at the big N! Luckily I love the rest of the NVC crew so I'll be a continued supporter!
This is a tremendous podcast! I highly recommend it!
Awesome panel, awesome info, awesome podcast.
Love this show! No annoying personalities like most shows. Brian, Jose, Peer and the gang are great. Very genuine, informative, and entertaining. My go to place for Nintendo news.
Where's your E3 episode at? Hehe. But seriously, been listening for a long time. Probably the only gaming podcast I listen to on the reg. Long time N fan too. Keep up the good work!
Probably the best gaming podcast out there. Jose comes very prepared each week with great discussion topics. The show is extremely well produced (love the musical interludes!). The core group of hosts, Jose, Brian, and Peer, are very funny and likable. I love hearing them give their impressions about games, but I also enjoy just hearing them talk! Couldn't recommend this show enough.
This podcast always give me tons of new Nintendo info and I love the passion that everyone has on the podcast.
This and GameScoop are the two best podcasts on IGN. My favorite episodes are when Peer, Brian, and Jose are on. I love how Jose does a good job keeping everyone on topic, and they all have awesome insight. Thanks for the awesome show.
What is there to even say about NVC? Running for years now, it's the place for any Nintendo fan to get their scoop. I've been listening for almost 3 years, and every episode is new and fresh. Thanks for everything you do IGN!
Nintendo, as a brand, bring with it a loyal fan base and people who love to discuss and dissect what the big N has in store for the future; especially the Switch. The NVC crew bring a lot to the table and offer a positive insight on the comings and going of Nintendo that is approachable / friendly. Highly recommended for anyone looking to partake in a positive community and a great cast of commentators on the weekly!
Great group of people talking about what they love. Really funny too
I've been a long time NVC podcast listener and I have to say, I was very concerned. With the departure of Matt Casamasina, whom I followed for a long time, I wondered if the NVC would ever be the same. It’s not the same, but its decent in its own way. The new podcast is unique, informative (a bit less than when Matt was in charge), and entertaining. I’d like to hear a smarter analysis of some topics, and decent reasoning applied to some topics. I listen to this podcast for its entertainment value, and really smart analysis only really happens with Peer. Rereview: I really was kind of put off when this podcast got rebranded with Jose as the host, but Jose has come a long way! I really appreciate a lot of his opinions, and I find that his opinions arre often insightful. He feels like a gamer who plays games from every platform, not just Nintendo ones. That can be frustrasting sometimes. When Peer and Brian are on the show the different perspective provided by each of them really makes for a remarkable show. Not every show knocks it out of the park, but the frequency of those shows is becoming increasingly more common.
If you're looking for a yes-man, fanboy podcast for Nintendo, look no farther.
Nintendo Voice Chat is The best Nintendo podcast out there! Correction...the best podcast period. The guys know their stuff and they are hilarious! Definitely worth your time!
I tune in weekly to hear the great commentary on all things Nintendo. The hosts all have great chemistry together which makes it even more enjoyable.
These guys reminded me why I love Nintendo so much. Listening to them made me feel like I was missing out on some very cool games on Wii U. They got me to reminisce on the times I played metroid prime, sunshine, goldeneye or diddy kong racing. If not for these guys I might have passed up on the switch. I am a happy switch owner today. Thanks NVC
I've been a fan for a few years and absolutely love the personalities and show segments. I love the structure that Jose gives the show and look forward to each episode. Keep it up!
Great at keeping up with news and making sure we get to keep up and just a lot of fun!
Best Podcast !
I love this podcast. I've been listening every week for the last couple of months. Lots of great information on everything Nintendo.
Cast is all very fun and energetic. They have all kinds of great interviews and insights into Nintendo specifically. Overall, great IGN crew and a solid podcast for your commute.
I love the Nintendo Voice Chat podcast! It's my number one source for in depth thoughts and news for Nintendo. I thought I would support them by adding NVC to my podcast. I don't ever use iTunes podcasts but I will now. Keep up the great work guys/gals!
I just recently stepped back into the gaming world, all thanks to the Switch! So naturally I want to keep informed on what's in the pipeline for my new and only system. The crew at IGN and specificity the regs on NVC have some pretty impressive insights and their a fun group that interacts and presents these ideas and stories in a way you would talk about it with your friends. Good stuff! Keep it up y'all!!
I've been listening for years and I look forward to the show every week. Thank you so much for the hours you spend putting together such an informative and entertaining podcast!
I have listened to GameScoop! podcast for many years and finally decided to check out the other podcasts coming from IGN. NVC is by far my favorite! The guests are always postive and informative. Watch out though, they may convince you to buy a Switch (you won't regret it!)!!!
I've bee an avid listener of Nintendo Vice Chat for about 5 years. I love the podcast, but I always get the feeling that Jose Otero always has a bias toward Nintendo. I get it you love Nintendo, so do I. Whether the guys are comparing a specific aspect of nintendo's hardware to PlayStation's, or Brian has a complaint about Nintendo's philosophy- more often than not Jose will defend Nintendo. I find this quite irritating, but beside that great podcast. Jose if you read this I don't mean to sound you annoy me- not that that would matter to you- but please work on this buddy.
The best Nintendo podcast by far. Thoroughly enjoyable, the hosts are extremely smart and savvy, and always a good and entertaining show.
Jose, Peer, and Brian are the kind of folks that I believe most Nintendo fans relate to. They have great chemistry and professionalism, although it's always great to watch Brian and Peer force Jose to get things on track when they go off script. (Jose is admirably stiff to a fault at times but I admire it). I do wish the show would loosen up a bit at times though and offer a wider spectrum of conversation which could possibly allow for multiple casts a week. I guess I just want more. My favorite guests are Sam Claiborne, Daemon Hatfield, and Miranda Sanchez. Thumbs up across the board and keep up the good work.
I'll be honest, I've never really written a podcast review before but I had to put a good word in for José, Peer and Brian because this is a GREAT podcast! The hosts all have awesome chemistry, with Peer talking about Nintendo in "the good ol' days", Brian sharing his passion for Link's Awakening and José bringing them back on topic haha. I love how deep the conversations can go and I've been introduced to several classics that I'm embarrassed I've never played until now (Chrono Trigger, Advance Wars and Balloon Fight). This is THE essential Nintendo podcast. If you're a huge Legend of Zelda, Super Metroid and Super Mario Bros fan like I am, this is the podcast for you!
Fantastic show. Keep it up.
Great insight, hilarious commentary. Love hearing your guys opinions.
I appreciate the news and the opinions.
Always entertaining, frequently funny, awesome personalities. Super professional, well constructed and produced.
This is my favorite ign podcast with the except of up at noon, whichis actually a variety show on YouTube, but still. Brian altano is the man. Very exciting time what with the new Switch console that I absolutely love
I'm an actor in Hollywood and even when I'm out of town or out of the country working on a project I STILL look forward to listening to NVC every week and seeing what Jose, Brian, and Peer have to say on all the Nintendo news. I've been a life-long Nintendo fan/lover and still have every console and handheld since the NES and GameBoy. This is the ONLY podast I've ever subscribed to and I've been listening for years. The show is so well-paced, the dynamic between Jose/Brian/Peer is so entertaining, and each show is like a well-oiled machine. I could go on and on about this show and these guys, but they are just the best. Keep doing what you're doing and you can count on me to keep listening!! At 6'9" I might just be your "biggest" fan!! Thanks guys!!!
During the Wii U era of Nintendo Co., I felt that NVC exaggerated on how "bad" the Wii U era; it made listening to them before unpleasant. Now, however, with the launch of the Nintendo Switch, NVC has balanced itself out and are more enjoyable to listen too. So in classic Nintendo-fan Fashion, you will get a healthy dose of skepticism and nostalgia-fueled optimism on this podcast. It also helps that the cast for NVC is as stellar as ever, this podcast is worth a listen or two.
These panelists offered insights and opinions that I otherwise would have missed -- thank you NVC crew, keep up the good work. I look forward to getting my Switch and following the conversation with you.
This podcast is a joy to listen to. Jose keeps things organized, but always allows the other Nintendo fanboys to gush about (or laugh at) everything Nintendo.
Jose and the gang are awesome. Love the music intro gives me that 80's feeling! Love when you guys talk zelda, and every Nintendo news and rumor. Keep up the Great work!!!.
Jose is one of the best hosts you could get for a Nintendo podcast, and it's always fun when the main 3 (Jose, Peer, and Braaaap! Braaaaap!) weigh in for the week's Nintendo minutiae. Just a really overall positive but rational and meausured vibe from these guys. Don't worry though-- they can still goofy occasionally. DAS HYPEEEEEEE
I have been a long time listener of Nintendo Voice Chat and they continue to offer a level of professionalism while consistently bringing fun, entertainment, and great commentary. This is my only weekly podcast that I check religiously and it's no joke. Jose Otero offers an amazing moderation where he lets things breathe but still knows when to reign it in. If I could offer one criticism, I feel that the podcast would improve with a more consistent female voice as the women who have made regular appearances are always a joy to have and bring a different side to the discussion. Overall 10/10
Peer, José, and Brian are so passionate about Nintendo, and that's what makes this podcast special. With more negativity being directed at Nintendo than ever before, it's refreshing to listen to people who love the history of the company and it's unique experiences. This is the first (and only) podcast that I listen to, and I hope that they continue to deliver their insightful conversations for years to come.
I mean it.
Love this podcast. I was Initially on the fence getting the Switch. After listening and watching this podcast, it's got me so hyped for the Switch. Keep up the amazing work. Love the positivity of the show hosts.
Have been tuning in to the show for years, it's the best Nintendo commentary around
This is one of the best and most comprehensive sources of all things Nintendo. The discussions are thoughtful and entertaining, and there is a real sense of camaraderie amongst Jose, Peer, and Brian (and their guests). The only downside is that the audio version often gets the short end of the stick in terms of being made available each week. It's often posted several hours (or in some cases a day or two) after the YouTube and IGN website versions.
Thank you for such an organized podcast, Peer is my long lost father!
I have been listening to this podcast for years now and I look forward to each podcast every week. Jose Otero is an excellent host that commands the show well and makes rational predictions about nintendo's future (smash bros not being delayed among many others). Peer Schneider's experience adds great insight into the gaming industry and his knowledge of the past and present of gaming sheds light on how the future might be. Last but not least, Brian Altano never fails to make the audience laugh each week, while still providing a professional perspective on Nintendo news. I often listen to this podcast just to hear the casters opinions even if I am already very familiar with all the news stories to be covered. Keep up the great work guys, I'll hear ya next week.
Long time fan of the show. I listen to many different podcasts, including nintendo ones, and this is always the one I look the most forward to hearing from. It's a highlight of my week and it's always a little sad if they miss a show one week. Jose does an excellent job keeping everything on point and organized. Brian is usually the funny guy, approaching things from a child glee-like perspective. And Peer brings the wise and all knowing perspective to the show, as someone with a lot of history and experience in the industry. Great show keep it up guys.
As a gamer in his 30s, I've been playing games for almost three decades. Over the years I've consumed all forms of games coverage, from print publications to message boards to gaming websites. This podcast is top tier. Jose, Peer and Brian blend passion and professionalism to create an interesting and informative show. They don't sugarcoat anything, sharing the same concerns and excitement of the Nintendo fans listening at home. With the Switch primed to launch soon, this is a great time to get on board. Keep up the great work, NVC! It's appreciated.
Friday's are the best day of the week right? Well with this podcast Friday's turn ten times better once it's uploaded!! Great crew, colorful discussion, and all around class act! Keep it up! Peer for president!! Oh wait....
I really love you guys! I'm always finding myself eagerly awaiting the next podcast, any little bit of Nintendo news makes my day, and it's really nice to hear other thoughts and opinions. Keep being awesome guys!
They always seem to be in a rush when it comes to listener feedback / letters. Incredibly rude.
I have been listening to this podcast for 5 years now and I just have to say this is the best podcast around. Jose, Brian, and Peer are the Holy Trinity of Podcastors. Brian is super funny, Jose is a great host, and Peer always has somthing great to say. This podcast deserves a 10/10 in my book. Keep up the geart work NVC team.
"WELCOME(!!!) to Ign's Nintendo Voice Chat! I'm your host Jose Otero, to my left is the legend in games journalism himself Peer Schneider 'Howdy Y'all' and next to him is the real life Fonz Brian Altano 'Brrrap Brrap'" Don't worry listener, that's not a real gun. This is a family podcast that is professional, smart and fun for all ages, much like the company this group discusses in this hour long show. I've been a listener for almost a year now, and have gone through the entire backlog to watch the show grow. I believe this is the best show that discusses Nintendo and video games as a whole. No other show considers their audience and makes them feel quite as included as NVC and after a few episodes you will feel like they are some of your oldest friends. (That sounds quite sad, but it's not I promise) If you like Nintendo games, and are looking for a professional opinion that will challenge your own, listen to this podcast.
If you're looking for new release coverage for your 3DS or any other Nintendo platform, ironically this ISN'T the podcast for you. Zero coverage of titles like Sun and Moon that just came out, but plenty of the same retreaded bull about the Switch. How many episodes can you make about a 4 minute preview of the Switch? Apparently 10.
A good show that runs at a nice clip. These guys are obviously seasoned Nintendo fans who know their stuff. Peer is a joy to listen to and Brian has great presence. Jose is cool too but he apologizes a bit too much. It's a podcast; it's ok to voice an opinion even if it might set off some wacko fans. And I imagine that being professional is expected when speaking on behalf of a company like IGN, but unless you're dropping f-bombs or something, the constant apologies are not necessary. Lets-a-go!
One of the great shows on the internet and definitely the best Nintendo themed podcast out there. Great cast consisting of IGN's Jose Otero, the great-wise Peer Schnieder and the comedic Brian Altano. Always a good time listening to these guys during my work commute every week. Keep up the fantastic work!
I look forward to this podcast every week. I am a big Nintendo and video game fan in my thirties with three young kids. This podcast is a great way for me to keep up with Nintendo and get some opinions from people I consider experts. Jose is a lot of fun and does his best to keep everyone on topic. Pier is a veteran with kids who helps me get a great perspective on my own gaming life. Brian is Brian. Brap brap. The guests are usually awesome from shovel knight Sean to kallie and Jared who are awesome. It's a can't miss for Nintendo fans. Keep up the good work.
Nintendo Voice Chat is the best podcast around. I've listened to a bunch of different podcasts and these guys do the absolute best job, week in and week out. Jose, Peer, and Brian are fantastic personalities that mix great, informative discussions with just the right amount of humor (especially Brian's pick for the SNES Classic, Super Ghouls 'N Girls). Each episode is fun and fresh and something every Nintendo fan needs to listen to. Every week I can't wait for the newest episode! On top of putting the newest episodes here on iTunes, they put them up on Nintendo Voice Chat's YouTube page, which is totally fun to watch. I've watched and listened to every episode of Nintendo Voice Chat and these guys are the very best. If you guys from Nintendo Voice Chat read this, keep up the awesome job you guys have been doing on this podcast!
Jose, Peer, and Brian are a wonderful trio to listen to as they converse, speculate, and joke about everything Nintendo. If there's one thing I wish they would do more of is revisit franchises and do exhaustive discussions like they did with Metroid and Earthbound. Sometimes when there's droughts of Nintendo news I wish they would do these types of episodes, but that's a pretty small complaint to have. Keep it up Jose!
In my 30's, I feel as if gaming has always been a part of my life. And by gaming, I mean Nintendo. From the NES, SNES, Gamecube etc I had them all. And stayed loyal through the highs, and unfortunate lows. This podcast shares my passion, enthusiasm (and sometimes anger) for the greatest company in the industry. Jose, Peer and Brian are knowledgeable, and have different enough personalities to make this my favorite podcast of the week. They are organized, professional and discuss the latest and greatest of Nintendo. Make this a regular part of your week as you will not find a better Nintendo podcast! PS. Can you work in a two minute segment discussing the eshop? The website no longer updates us, and it would be nice to discuss new VC games. Thanks! Loyal listener for many years. Matt
I'm only writing this review in the hopes that the podcasting team actually reads feedback and might improve. This podcast is rarely worth listening to, but I keep coming back hoping that it's just a rut they are in. Alas, no. Every week, the podcast can be summed up as: 10 minutes of content stretched into an hour, endlessly sad nostalgia from baby adults, constant interruptions from Peer, rinse and repeat. I'd like to think the current team could turn this around, but I doubt it. The one week that was recently listenable was with a guest host, so I'm sure what this podcast needs is fresh blood. The current crew can't get out of their own way.
I've been listening to IGN's Nintendo show for almost 10 years (since the early days of the Wii), and I can honestly say that it's currently the best it has ever been. Jose, Peer, and Brian bring the perfect combination of entertainment and professionalism to every discussion. They play off each other well, and you can tell that they're all having a great time while also offering thoughtful and unique insights. They also consistently bring in great guests that add to the variety. I've tried to listen to other Nintendo-related podcasts in order to diversify a bit, but I keep coming back to NVC because nobody else comes even close. If you love keeping up with all things Nintendo, look no further; this is the podcast for you!
I've been a Nintendo enthusiast for a very long time, and I can say without a doubt in my mind that NVC is THE BEST media outlet for Nintendo fans. I've listened to this podcast religiously each week since 2013, and I plan to stay connected for many years to come. It's the A+ content, talented hosts, and special guests that make this podcast so enjoyable. If you're a Nintendo fan who wants to stay up-to-date with the latest Nintendo news, listen to NVC IMMEDIATELY. You'll be happy you did, I guarantee it.
I love listening to Nintendo based discussions, but have found it very difficult to find a group who has an intelligent conversation about Nintendo. Jose and Peer both have well thought out comments and are rational. They have a good understanding of the industry and Nintendo. I feel that Brian sometimes lacks the same thoughtfulness in some of his opinions, but his humor is a great component to the show. I love listening to the podcast after some big news or the release of a game to see what they think about it. I also love hearing their thoughts on what direction they think Nintendo is moving in as a company. They cover a great breadth of topics. It's a treat to tune in.
Jose, Brian and Mr. Schneider deliver the best Nintendo insights you'll find anywhere. If you enjoy learning about and keeping up with the mad toy makers that are Nintendo, look no further*
THE MAN BABY POWER HOUR!!! Seriously don't know how these guys get so excited over Nintendo garbage...I'm pretty sure Nintendo could sell them a big steaming pile of crap in a box, call it a new console..and these guys would lose there marbles!
You heard that right. NVC is one of, if not the highest quality Nintendo show you'll get on the internet. Here's why: - The crew has great chemistry. When they're not devolving into cheesy jokes, Jose, Brian and Peer have really insightful and engaging discussions about the past, present and future of Nintendo. - Their discussions are smart, thoughtful, and well-argued--never do I feel turned off of the show because someone's being a blind Nintendo fanboy or a blind Nintendo critic. - The timing is great. I've slowly but surely grown to appreciate Jose's time management skills (and the slick transitions that come with them) because each segment doesn't feel way too long or way too short; they're more often than not just the right time. Would easily recommend this to any passionate fan of Nintendo.
I love IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat. As a fan of all things Nintendo, I appreciate their objective opinions as well their informative thoughts on one of the best game makers out there. While I do think the show is "rushed along" sometimes, I am constantly entertained as well as informed whenever I listen in. Thanks guys for all the years of enjoyment and for all the years to come! Best, Patrick Hogue
This is a great podcast and I love listen to Jose, peer, and Brian talk so positively about Nintendo. It goes deeper than just that though, you three are harder on Nintendo than most people but still keep the positive outlook on nintendos Future. Ign knows how to pick the right people to do these podcast and this show proves that. If I could change anything about this show, it wouldnt be to take anything away but to add the special shows you've all done. Like a show all about chrono trigger or why star fox is a great game. These are the episode I miss and yes you can't do this every year seeing as 20th anniversaries dont happen every year. Keep up the great work and thank you for everything you gentlemen do.
Let me just say, out of all the podcast shows I have ever heard, this one is singlehandedly my favorite Podcast of all time. The information/theories given in each episode is interesting and thorough. Combine this with the funny and dynamic banter between the members in between, and you have a genuinely entertaining, informative and overall 'ear candy' podcast to listen to. TL;DR, this podcast sets the gold standard for other video game/news podcasts to follow.
This team has wonderfully helped me reignite my love for all things Nintendo, while also keeping everything fresh and new at the same time. A great place for news, reviews, nostalgia and just simply Nintendo chatter. Keep up the great work!
Been listening for a couple years now, and I absolutely love the show. It is a show done by people who clearly love Nintendo, but also provide great insider analysis. The only complaint I could make is that I wish it could be longer! But I definitely understand the people who make it have busy schedules, as well as strict recording time. Anyways, keep up the good work! You guys are awesome!
Nintendo is a company that inspires incredible passion, fun, and simply a love of gaming. Nintendo Voice Chat reflects that ethos completely. Listening to the guys and girls on the show discuss the latest news, games, and all things Nintendo is easily the highlight of my podcast listening each week. They are thoughtful, honest, and critical, and you can tell they come from a place of passion and love themselves. This is easily the best Nintendo podcast available. Highly recommended!
Fantastic Nintendo themed podcast, the team has great chemistry and is always entertaining.
This is easily the best IGN Podcast out, and maybe one of the best podcasts in general. I titled this thank you Brian because I only found NVC after hearing Brian Altano mention it on the comedy button. Now I listen to 4 ign podcast that I wouldn't have found if it wasn't for him.
Having been a prisoner of the Space Station Vestron, which orbits Io (which as you know is the innermost of Jupiter's four Galiliean Moons) the only podcast that I could ever manage to get was Nintendo Voice Chat. Jose, Brian, Peer and the gang kept me company in my dark cell. Many years later, after escaping that technological terror I continue to listen to the podcast to keep up to date on all things Nintendo. Even now, with the plethora of other podcasts available, NVC continues to be my podcast of choice. Keep up the great work and remember....should you need me....just press the red button on your intergalactic transmorphic contragulators and Rygar Starkong will be there! AVANTE!
Nintendo Voice Chat is better than sex!!!
If you have a thing for Nintendo, do yourself a favor and subscribe to NVC. They do a great job, talking about all your Nintendo news and keep it fresh with special guest, facts/travia from Nintendo's Past, and stories that have you keep on listening.
WELCOOOOMME to this review on your podcast. Friends often ask me: "why the hell aren't we running this conpany?"(referring to. Nintendo of course). I often reflected on this question imagining what would it be like if Nintendo made smart decisions... invested in the right products... and hired the right people (me). But I don't have to anymore... because Nintendo Voice Chat does it for me every week more in depth than I could imagine. It all starts with classic tunes to "play the team to the desk." I love this because I recognize it everytime, just don't know exactly what game / stage I'm hearing. It reminds me of a midi test game my friends played often... anyways... I love the show!! I appreciate the professionalism, comedy, insights, news, and the question block segment. Just wish it was a twice a week thing. Friday's commute is always the best commute because of y'all. Thank you guys for what you do especially when you reminisce of metroid.... the one that got away....
First time listener, first time writer. I have to say, you guys are awesome! Easily, the best Nintendo podcast on the internet. I really like the chemistry between all of you. You guys are very entertaining and insightful. Keep up the great work!
You guys are amazing. The combination of Brian's honest, fun and relateable opinons, Peer's insightful thoughts on marketting/company's view on game deveopment and his hilarious puns/jokes, and Jose's critical but to the point opinions really makes this the most "funnest" podcast as a Nintendo game player. (+some of the most insightful guests). I savor these podcasts like I do with all good things like I do with any cream on a cake. I "save it till later as a highlight," and when I do start listening to them, I don't (can't) stop till it ends (almost sad when there is no more). P.S. the songs that you guys pick always want me to go back and play the games that the songs are from.
Hey guys, Really like the work you do. I love listening to this podcast; it's always a lot of fun. I do have one critique I need to get off my chest. This whole "reading your 5 star reviews on air" thing is really corny and is a major turnoff. It really rubs me the wrong way. But other than that I enjoy listening every week. Keep up the good work.
I love this podcast. Great content and hilarious hosts. Jose, Pier, and Brian are great at what they do. I look forward to their industry insight and valuable opinions on Nintendo and it's amazing games. Can't wait for nx!
NVC is a weekly treat for me. Jose, Brian, and Peer offer up the weekly Nintendo news and expound upon it with rational, sage commentary. And the guests they have on are always delightful. Thank you, Gents! I'd give it more that 5 stars if I could!
If you like Nintendo and you like to laugh.... THEN YOUR SEARCH HAS ENDED! 🎺Every FRIDAY! FRIDAY! FRIDAY!🎺(insert monster truck sounds and hip hop horns) You will be informed! YOU will laugh! and finally....YOU WILL NEVER understand Peer's strange Tourette's noise making syndrome! In all seriousness Jose, Brian, and Peer gives you hands down the best Nintendo podcast available to date. It will be a very long time, if ever, when these fine gentlemen are dethroned of their weekly podcast greatness! Thank you!!! B een listening for well over a year and look forward every week for their reaction on the past week of Nintendo info. ( maybe some NX info will be here soon.....) Thanks guys! Brap Brap Ryan
Its an awesome and extremely informative show. Always appreciate the feedback from the host and guests. I listened to it every Saturday morning when I got to work and makes my drive fly by. If there was any draw back, its that its too short. Keep up the great work guys and gals! More Poke talk please 😁
The only Nintendo Podcast i listen to! Please keep them coming!
This podcast is like the best in the world for Nintendo news
I don't have a recent Nontendo system, and I don't play games Very often, But I love this show, the three hosts a hilarious to listen to. Love it when they get a developer to come on for a full interview.
I have listened to Jose Otero, Peer Schneider, Brian Altano and many other special guests for the past 5 years. They are an entertaining bunch and my source for everything Nintendo. I have a tradition on Friday Nights to listen to these guys and play Super Mario. I looked forward to this day every Saturday Morning. Keep up the great work guys, every gamer should subscribe immediately!! Thank You!
I've listened to NVC as my exclusive source for Nintendo news and discussion. Everyone on the shows a great job and I look forward to it weekly!
Wow, NVC, great moves, keep it up, proud of you!
This is the only podcast I've actually stuck through for longer than a year, and it's always remaining fresh and interesting. The organization and professionalism shown consistently throughout each episode speaks volumes. Each person gets time to voice their opinion without cutting each other off. The banter is masterfully controlled by Jose to always keep it on topic and keep it moving along the talking points, "speaking of 'xyz', Nintendo just announced..." One thing I notice almost every episode that I would like to point out, however trivial it may be, is that it feels rushed. And this is proven again and again as the fourth wall is broken when someone from the cast will say "we don't have time", "we have to go because xyz has the room after us...", "we have to cut it short because..." Other than this small detail, the podcast is fantastic, and I used my iTunes app for the first time in 3 years just to write this review so the show will have a better chance of staying on air.
I've been listening to NVC for years and its by far my favorite podcast. Im always eager to hear what the crew has to say about the latest happenings at the hardest company to love. Its fun to revel in their triumphs and lament their many....many...many failures with the crew. Its a well balanced mix of analitical and jovial discusion and is probably what has helped me stay athe die hard Nintendo fanboy that Ive been for twenty nine years. Only critisism is that I want more. waiting a week is too hard. More Youtube videos too. Stay Fresh!
Nintendo Voice Chat is quite possibly the best Nintendo podcast out there. Not only are the hosts intelligent and funny but the podcast in general possess an unequaled energy that a lot of other gaming podcasts lack. You can tell these guys are just excited every week to be talking about Nintendo news and breaking down each story and rumor for their audience. The features and interviews shine light on some of the more obscure recesses of the video game world and the host, Jose Otero, is single-handedly responsible for getting me interested in Monster Hunter. Keep up the great work Peer, Brian, and Jose!
I ****ing love the NVC Podcast! José is a fantastic host, Altano is hilarious, and Peer is a gaming media legend! If you are a Nintendo fan then you have to listen!
I've been listening every week for 2 years now. This is simply the best source for everything Nintendo. The different personalities & perspectives of Peer, Jose & Brian take this over the top. I highly recommend this to any Nintendo fan! Thanks guys.
Do you like NIntendo? You're in the right place. Do you like fun, quirky hosts? You're in the right place. Do you want everything and more Nintendo? You're already in the right place at IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat. Ever since the dawn of my video gaming age, Nintendo has been the forefront of my video game aresenal. From that young age my parents woldn't buy me many games, but it didn't matter, because games like Pokemon and Zelda could keep me playing for hours on end. As I gew older, my love for games never faltered, but my knowledge on the industry and anything outside of going to a store to buy a game was far from satisfactory. Enter NVC stage right! Scouring around my favourite sites (one of which being the great IGN) I found this super podcast that hooked me within the first few minutes of the show. From bopping my head to the Nintendo tunes that played before each episode, to hearing the cast joke around Peer's GM money, I heard a plethora of Nintendo news and a lot of insight into everything Nintendo. Did I know about how the gaming industry worked? No! DId I have a clue about how business worked? No! Did I care? Not one bit. Even with my lack (slowly learning) knowledge on business, I was able to keep up with the serious topics and learn a lot about the video game economy. And regardless of serious business type topics, their talks about the games themselves are full of entertaining discussions and fabulous personaly stories about the games that we've all experienced. A must watch/listen for any Nintendo fan and one of the highlights of my week. Thanks to Jose, Brian and Peer for hosting this amazing show, and a sincere "Brapp brapp" from me.
Nvc is consistently one of my favorite podcasts. Jose Otero is a fantastic host who really knows his Nintendo and it shows. Peer Brian and Jose have a great chemistry together and I hope the show continues for a long time.
Every time I open my podcasts and see a new download,I get so excited! Thank you for your work!
After the Official Nintendo Magazine podcast ended, I looked all over for another good Nintendo themed podcast, and this is the best I've found so far!
"With great power comes very little battery life." -Peer Schneider
I have been listening to this podcast for about a year now, and throughout the year, this was something I regularly looked forward to at the end of the week, and still do. Brian Altano has been a blast to listen to, and his jokes have caused many social issues where I burst into laughter in public. Peer Schneider keeps everyone's expectations in check in the best way possible, thanks to his years of experience, and his insight into classic games is fascinating. And finally, Jose Otero, the man at the wheel of the ship, who steers the program in the direct that he intends, and I humbly believe, towards the topics the public wants to hear about. His examples and comparisons are top notch, and I use them to explain concepts to my friends. I thank you all that you put in the effort to make a great podcast, and thank you for something to look forward to at the end of a long school week. Thank you for your devotion to your craft. Continue "Playing with Power," because "There's No Play Like It!"
I could listen to these guys for hours. I love the insights and opinions they share. This is truly one of the best resources for anything Nintendo and they just do a spectacular job. I would love to see both Nintendo and Nintendo Voice Chat succeed!
I love playing Nintendo games, always have and always will. I am and still growing with Nintendo's franchises. In high school and even at home, I could never talk or discuss with anyone about my passion for gaming, specifically Nintendo. My junior year of high school,I found this podcast on the ign site (which I visited daily). I loved the show and the guys doing it. It's awesome to hear people who are just as passionate about Nintendo and gaming as I am. Jose, Brian, and Peer are really cool and funny guys to watch/listen to. I have even thought about going into the gaming industry because of this podcast. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who cares about video games (especially Nintendo). I am currently playing the Metroid series (a gem I some how underestimated or glanced over) and loving it. I'm currently on Super Metroid now. I just wanna thank Jose,Brian, and Peer for their work and dedication to the show. Anyone who is interested can subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, watch them on the ign site or app, or on YouTube!
Jose, Peer, and Brian are a great, knowledgeable bunch with tangible chemistry. They are a great melding of fan and objectivity. Love to watch/listen as I relax from the hectic work week. Best podcast in the industry for sure! Jose is level-headed and steers the show well, but the tangents are often the best part of the episode. Brian's commentary is passionate and hilarious; Peer is a legend in the industry, and his love for the medium is apparent with every story and detail he shares. Together, they make every week a joy to anticipate--I find myself looking forward to Fridays even more than ever before.
I respect this trio's opinions and insights more than any other commentators in the business & they're the only group to discuss news relevant to me and my creative sound blaster awe32
Best IGN podcast. They care. They know what's going on. They speak intelligently on both systems and keep speculation to a minimum, and in segments where they preface it by saying it is speculation.
Glad I stumbled on this podcast. It has quickly become one of my favorites. The three hosts are very good at what they do, each bringing an interesting perspective. The show is focused and provides entertaining analysis of all things Nintendo. Keep up the great work!
I've been a listener since day one of this podcast and even before - when it was still called 'Wii-k-in review'. On a personal level it is near and dear to my heart as it's been with me through all the highs and lows that come with being a young adult leaving high school, to getting a first job, a first car and even getting married and everything in between. Just like me, it too has gone through phases over the years: awkwardness, weirdness, borderline inappropriateness, ripening and maturing. Fortunately for newer listeners, NVC is at it's mature phase. Polite, professional, and family friendly are words that come to mind. Most importantly, and much like the company in question (Nintendo), it's fun. Brian is the funny character who always helps listeners put the week's news into perspective for us average people. Peer is not only an industry legend with over twenty years of experience, but also a father of three. His insight and knowledge is invaluable and his parental perspective is always welcome. Finally but not least, Jose strikes the perfect balance between the two and is the dependable host NVC has needed all these years. A deep and rich love of Nintendo is something all three share in common so don't expect a fan boy's perspective of Nintendo on this show. What I love the most about this podcast is that it's not always just about the news. Anecdotes and peeking behind the industry curtain are common place. If you're a fan of Nintendo or even vaguely interested, this podcast is a must - hands down. Do yourself a favor and listen to the best Nintendo podcast on the World Wide Web.
I absolutely adore this show. I've been listening for quite some time and as a college student it's great to always have something to listen to when I walk around campus. If you're a huge Nintendo fan like I am then you cannot go wrong subscribing to this podcast, and if you're not well then I still recommend you give it a listen. These guys (and occasionally some awesome ladies) love talking about this stuff and everyone can get some quality entertainment from it! I just wish they did the question block at least once a month.
I look forward to this podcast every week and it continues to deliver entertaining, relevant, and humorous content time and time again! Jose, Brian, and Peer are the main hosts of the show and each have great personality, insight, and information about Past and present Nintendo titles alike. They've each grown up loving the company and have all been in love with varying genres and platforms the likes of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. I hope the podcast continues to run for a very long time because I plan on listening weekly for a good entertaining hour (or two :)) each time they record! Thank you Guys!
Listen to all the IGN podcasts, this is deff a great listen. Need some more updates, but the long episodes and interesting host makes it great. The legend of Zelda episode has been a highlight of the past couple weeks.
Listening for a year now. They have great chemistry, and talk about eveything im interested in. So, keep up the great work... Im a little disappointed though, not as many "Brap braps" these days. Lol jk
I've heard about this podcast just recently after E3 this year and I've been listening to new and older episodes ever since. Really cool comments, great variety of topics, and very entertaining! I'll be sure to keep following you guys on itunes and youtube! Congrats!
I subscribe to many of IGN's podcasts and this one in particular is one that I look forward to each week. I love the personalities on the show and feel that each brings a very unique and interesting point of view. My only suggestion would be for Jose to perhaps loosen up a bit. I thoroughly enjoy his viewpoint and feel like many of the things he brings up are valid, but oftentimes I feel like way too much attention is called to the strict time constraints that have to be adhered to. The anxiety that builds is palpable and makes the experience far less enjoyable in the moment. If time is really something that can't have any wiggle room, I would suggest finding a different way to communicate the need to move on that doesn't bring it to the audience's the attention quite so brazenly. That being said, I truly do enjoy the show and don't mean this in any negative context. It's merely an observation of something I feel could take this already great podcast to fantastic.
Long time listener, just got an iphone, also wanted to throw a 5 star rating your way. keep it up jose, peer, and brain!
I love the music and the conversation
Informative, funny, and genuine, NVC and its cast (and guests) provide insight and perspective on Nintendo in a way no other media outlet does. Less news format and more listening to a discussion amongst friends, you really get the sense of care and understanding, across the whole span of Nintendo's storied history (the video games part at least), and I can't imagine the modern video games landscape without the insight of Peer, Jose, and Brian! Also the interviews are fantastic.(Bill Trinen people!! I remember shooting his name in the original Smash credits as a wide-grinned 7 yr old and now I'm listening to him as an adult.)
I've been listening for a few years now and it just keeps getting better! Keep up the awsome job
I've been listening to Nintendo Voice Chat for years now. I love the quality of the show, the humor, the detail, and the variety. I honestly can't sing enough praise for this show. I recommend it to any and all of my gaming friends. Keep up the good work and know that it's appreciated!
I always look forward to listening to Jose, Peer, and Brian and the rest of the nvc team on their informative and lively discussions on everything Nintendo. From gossiping on the latest rumors to reminiscing the good old 8 bit days, I am always entertained and smiling through each episode.
It's not the podcast fault, but there is only a few games they can talk about and they spend a lot of time defending what few games do show up on Nintendo platforms. Blame Nintendo. But IGN's Beyond and Unlock has more games to talk about and far more entertaining.
I am a delivery driver in Northeastern Maine and my long drives are filled with podcasts. One of my personal favorites is NVC. I like how Brian, peer, and Jose all have diferent views and are not afraid to disagree. I love having all my Nintendo news in one podcast each week. I also enjoy how Jose keeps the topics and podcast moving. Thanks for getting me through and keeping me awake among some long work days!
Absolutely love the podcast! You guys are fantastic. Definitely the best part of my Monday morning commute to work. Nothing beats grabbing a coffee and listening to other Nintendo fans talk about different topics and sharing opinions. Lots of laughs and great music. Favorite podcast for sure!
I listened to guys for a year now and it has been an absolute delight. Keep it up! 🍔
...all the episode descriptions are the same! Gah! Please fix this this! I liked being able to read the synopsis ahead of time. 😊
After finishing Captain Toad I sold my WiiU and, having traded in the (Old) 3DS for Dark Souls 2 earlier, left Nintendo with hopes of a better next-gen experience from whatever NX turns out to be. Since then I've looked forward every week to the NVC podcast and any Pokémon discussions to keep my withdrawal symptoms manageable. Love the show, have listened since Jose first started with "Welcommmme!" Keep up the great work. Andrew New Mexico
As someone born in the 80s and now in his 30s I can't tell you how much I look forward to your weekly podcast. I have been an Nintendo fan since the beginning and really appreciate the work you guys do. Special shout out to Jose: I always love your choice of music for each podcast! Where do you find some of the remixes? Keep up the great work!!
Like Skyrim with Nintendo news, and discussions
I love this show, it helps me get through the walk home from school. You guys are all awesome
As the father of a 14-year old Nintendo fanatic I have gained some serious cred thanks to this podcast. My son and his friends are impressed by how much I know regarding upcoming Nintendo releases. My secret of course is the NVC crew, who keep me informed on all things Nintendo. As a bonus I get to learn about games from independent developers which I absolutely love but would've never sought out for myself if the NVC team hadn't brought them to my attention. Highly recommended for all Nintendo lovers and believers!
The only thing I don't like about this show is that it only comes out once a week. I need more of this stuff, people look forward to Fridays because it's the weekend, I look forward to Fridays because I get to listen to Nintendo Voice Chat.
I absolutely love this show! I listen to this podcast while I work and it makes it SO much more enjoyable. Not only does it keep me up to date on the latest Nintendo news but it's fun and charismatic hosts make it very entertaining to listen to. Peer, Jose, and Brian are all hilarious and keep the show interesting. I wish we got more than one show a week! Keep up the great work guys!
I started listening a few years ago (Earthbound Virtual Console episode I believe) and from the beginning Nintendo Voice Chat has been my favorite podcast. Thank you for introducing me to the wonderful world of video game podcasts and keep up the great work!
I have been listening to Nintendo Voice Chat, and all the other podcasts IGN offers, for almost a year now. NVC is hands down my favorite podcast, and I always look forward to listening to it Monday morning. Jose offers up a fair perspective to all the games mentioned on the show, and I typically buy them on that recommendation and haven't been disappointed once. NVC really revitalized my love for Nintendo! Great show!
This is my favorite Nintendo podcast. I have listened since Cassamasina & Bozon, and I really enjoy the new crew of Jose, Peer, and Brian. I love the enthusiastic and in depth discussions on Nintendo! My only complaint is how Jose, the host, handles listener feedback. He is often very critical of questions and comments and states his thoughts on how good or (often) bad the submissions are. I have never heard a podcast where the host is so unfriendly to listener input - most shows are overjoyed to have any interaction from listeners. Because of Jose's responses to people that write-in, I am hesitant to send in questions or comments to NVC. That is literally my only complaint - this podcast still deserves 4 stars and deserves a listen from every Nintendo fan!
I’ve been listening for a few years now. I recently moved from South Africa to New York City and it’s been great listening to familiar voices at the end of every week! I appreciate the passion you guys have for Nintendo games. Keep up the great work!
Far and away the best Nintendo podcast there is. Keep up the entertaining discussions!
Love Peer going way back. The rest of the cast seem to be Nintendo sales people. Excuses, excuses.
Great show. I listen devoutly every week. I use it as my main (and basically only) source to acquire all Nintendo news. I love hearing all the boys. They perfectly show their care and appreciation for the listeners and give the show a personal side, making listeners feel as though they know them. Great personalities for the show.
Love the insights, speculation, opinions, humor, and guests in the show! Keep up the good work!
This podcast should get the official nintendo seal of quality. The lightheartedness of the show helps balancing life, school, and work. Keep doing your thing guys!
This podcast is always fun to listen to and keeps me informed about everything Nintendo.
Listen to this podcast every week. They constantly joke around and give real insight to games and products. Always up to date news, and the guest appearances are great. Jose, Brian, Peer, love you guys. BRRRAT!
Nintendo voice chat can be very inconsistent with their content. As someone who works and listens to podcast a lot it would be nice if they came out on time with "good" content. It could be short, boring, not funny, and sometimes not come out till he following week. Compared to beyond, game scoop, unlocked it just doesn't do it well. I'm not sure if it's the host who doesn't have time cause he is to busy but if that's the case hand it to someone else who can be more consistent and fun with it. Don't get me wrong they are cool people I just wish it was more consistent and fun.
I enjoy NVC. Mainly because of the commentary, the music, themes, aesthetic, and guests. I listen to hear updates on the Nintendo world that I left behind over a decade ago. I hope Nintendo steers the ship in a better direction with the NX, but until then I can hear the goings on at NVC. Jose is an excellent host! More Earthbound!!!
This podcast is positive, entertaining and informative. If you are a Nintendo fan, you will love this podcast.
Love these guys. I listen every week and I always learn something new.
This podcast is great when it's on point. It gives good commentary on Nintendo news and often shows both sides of the argument, which I really like (because Nintendo has plenty of dark sides as well). The one issue I take with the podcast sometimes is that they spend too much time on one subject and it drags on (such as recently where 3/4ths of an episode was about Splatoon or Super Mario Maker and I'm sitting there thinking 'okay guys wrap it up, go onto something else PLEASE'). Also, a few of the arguments can get a bit cringey where Brian will say one thing and Jose gets incredibly defensive, snippy, and makes comments that are entirely uncalled for. Jose seems to be the biggest offender in this case and I wish he'd tone it down. Another huge issue is the interview guests. A lot of these interviews go on for FAR too long and the content is quite boring (most recently, there was an incredibly long interview about Earthbound, and I with they talked about other things because I just don't care about Earthbound and they could have at least brought up other subjects).
Love the trio. Love the conversations. It's all good. ONE THING I dislike is I wish it was more consistent with it's weekly release. Sometimes it's super late. But I do understand people get busy. Anyway. Keep doing good work.
I look forward to listening to this podcast every week. It is excellent! My only personal gripe is very subjective. Personally I much prefer to listen to commentary on games and news from the three main hosts rather than interviews with guests. Please do fewer guests. Thanks!
I started listening to NVC around the time that Jose started hosting and I look forward to listening every week! These guys aren't just blind Nintendo fanboys, they really try to look at things objectively and tell it like it is. Can't wait for some official NX news for them to discuss!
Listen every week.
Been listening for a couple months now and keep looking forward to the next podcast.
This podcast is worth listening to if you love or even have any nintendo attachment
This is the show that got me into podcast! Love me some Peer, Brian and Jose.
I like the fact that NVC started to be weekly intead of once per month with Rich and Aubrey back in 2011-13. Jose has done a great job with keeping the podcast interesting with Peer and Brian. The only thing that bothers me is the constant shoouting of "We gotta go" 3-7 times every podcast. It makes it seem like Jose does not want to do a podcast, always in a hurry to go. Also Jose's lack of a sense of humor...when Peer or Brian troll him or make fun of something, he is so quick to get defensive....laugh a little Jose is not that serious. I would assume you would've been comfortable with Peer and Brian now since you been at IGN for almost 4 years now.
I love the whole gang!! You guys are awesome and I always look forward to hearing NVC. I'm such a Nintendo fan it's been with me since I was young and knowing there are other people, some whom even have kids of their own, that still love it is endearing. You guys are funny and have a great chemistry for the podcast! Keep it up!
Jose, Brian, and Peer are all amazing and have their unique views on Nintendo. Always a great conversation, often hilarious(when Jose allows), and I look forward to it every week. Could use more Sliva and Goldfarb(for Earthbound/Mother discussion)
This show is so repetitive. Partly because there are only 10 games a year released on Nintendo systems. Last year every single episode was about Splatoon. The only good episode this year had none of the original cast and was about famicom games. They also defend every bad Nintendo practice, like their terrible youtube policy. Jose is no fun at all and Altano isn't either. Peer is the only redeeming factor but that can only do so much. I recommend finding another podcast with a good host and fair and balanced reporting.
This is a show I look forward to each week for the banter, insights, and random topics that make look up things I would have never known about. Well I don’t always have an interest in the games they are talking about they always provide an insight on the game that makes me interested even though I might never play it. This is always a podcast I have to check out each week.
This is a good show and Jose runs the show well but he can be a bit insufferable at times. It feels like he's trying to one up everyone else with his "nerd cred" at times. But the content is great and these guys obviously love Nintendo which shows in making the show more interesting.
Awesome podcast. If you own a Nintendo system, or if you just enjoy some good Nintendo nostalgia, this one is worth your time. I own a 3DS, and I come for both. The guys are informative, respectable, and fun. I also appreciate that the show is clean, which is something rare these days. I don't have to worry about what's about to come out of the speakers. Awesome job, guys. Keep it up.
They love Nintendo, but they know when to call them out for being antiquated or Japan-centric. They are well rounded gamers, unlike the majority of the IGNorant staff.
I listen every week, and especially enjoyed the latest episode with the Sean Velasco interview. Keep up the great work!
Can't say enough good things about the hilarious cast of characters, up to date news, interesting segments, reviews, guests (looking at you Jarred). If you love gaming this is a must have every week. I refresh my podcast app constantly starting Thursday night until Monday if that's what it takes. I even go back through the back catalog a couple times each year.
Great show guys. Jose,Brian and Peer are amazing keep up the amazing work.
I work evenings and weekends and it is always fun to listen to NVC before work on Friday. Entertaining and insightful. NVC is something I look forward to each and every week.
If you only listen to one Nintendo podcast, this is the one you should be listening to. Informed, intelligent, and entertaining.
This podcast really immersed me in the world of Nintendo. Really look forward to each episode.
Love this family friendly podcast. Jose does a great job hosting with peer and Brian. Great, fair look at Nintendo for all their greatness and shortcomings.
I've been listening to this podcast for some years now, and it's definitely had its ups and downs, but it's finally gotten very consistent, is there every week, and it's just a really great show. Even though I listen to two other Nintendo podcasts and like them, this one is the best produced, and is my favorite.
Interesting personalities and discussion for all things Nintendo.
This is hands down my favorite podcast. It's always on point, doesn't meander in it's discussions subjects and gives great insight into the world of Nintendo. The biggest complaint I have is it's only once a week! I'd listen to a new NVC daily if I could.
I have been listening to NVC ever since Jose Otero began hosting, and I've loved my time spent listening to Nintendo news and insight. I enjoy the revolving cast, which most often features Brian Altano and Peer Schneider. Guests like Kallie Plagge and Sam Claiborn add even more personality and expertise to the mix. If you enjoy Nintendo as a company and Nintendo's games, this podcast is for you!
This the best nintendo podcast ever!!!
Change your cover photo this blue one looks dumb
Let me start by saying I LOVE this podcast. Seriously a great news source for Nintendo along with some really fun and entertaining personalities. Having said this I do have an issue with one individual who rarely appears on the show. KALLIE PLAGGE HAS A SERIOUSLY SEXIST AGENDA! In the most recent episode she got on her soap box about traditionally male characters becoming female in which she explained her discomfort with Link's female form having a different name (Linkle). It seems she wants equality which is totally respectable. She then goes on to refute the idea of Samus becoming a man. She has a double standard and it seems to come out every time she appears on the podcast. If the roles were reversed and it was Jose or Peer stating that they were adamantly against the idea of Link having a female form there would be major backlash and they would be considered politically incorrect. She does seem very intelligent and knowledgable about the games she discusses but always inserts her bias at every chance. Anyways, LOVE THE SHOW! That's why I'm giving it 5 stars! I just wish they could reign her in a little bit. Keep up the good work!
Here is an idea for a drinking game. Every time peer says "right?" You take a drink. But not alcohol, use water it's healthier.
Some of the nicest people in video games shout Nintendo games and news each week. Conversation tends to focus a little too much on major first-party releases, but I always look forawrd to each new episode.
I love this podcast, these guys are very knowledgable and totally in the know! Highly recommend it to any Nintendo fan.
I am begining to want to go look for another Nitendo Podcast because you guys really need to have a person to do audio checks before you put up the Podcast for listening. Some of you are screaming and soeme cannot be heard at all, I have to keep the volume up high and then I get blasted. You all should listen to your own Podcast to see what we all hear. Insteand of bleeping out a swear word give us a volume controlled Podcast. i really enjoy you Podcast and I hope you will fix this issue :) ty Nellie
NVC is my favorite podcast, I'm a loyal listener but recently the audio problems haven't made the experience as enjoyable as it is. Sometimes it's really low but suddenly they start laughing and my eardrums suffer 😂 but other than it's quality content and very entertaining!
If you like Nintendo and the IGN staff then you will love this podcast. If you are not familiar with IGN, do yourself a favor and start listening! Great topics and great discussions. Guests are always featured and provide insight to games of the past and present. I look forward to this podcast every week. Keep up the good work!
I travel fairly often and, to keep myself amused, I listen to tons of podcasts on every topic, from sports, to economics, to science. Out of all of them, NVC is probably my favorite. The show’s current hosts (Jose, Peer, Brian) have terrific chemistry, and all three are knowledgeable and passionate. What’s most remarkable is that the show effortlessly caters to every type of fan, from folks who grew up with the NES to people just getting on-board with the Wii U/3DS. I’m someone who got into games during the forgotten Gamecube era, and hearing their enthusiasm for stuff like Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime, and Wind Waker always brings a smile to my face. A typical show strikes a nice balance between news, game impressions, informed speculation, and listener feedback. During slow weeks, however, they’ll go in-depth with something like a franchise retrospective or an interview with someone from the industry, and those episodes are especially great. I’d recommend this to any Nintendo fan, and really to any video game fan in general.
First, love the show content. Nintendo has been near and dear to my heart
I love this show, I look forward to it every Friday. Three great personalities deliver everything from news, to reviews. to listener questions, they cover it. All three very passionate and knowledgeable about everything Nintendo. Jose, Peer and Brian: Thanks for always delivering!!
Love the news, the Nintendo gossip and the personality of the host and his crew. Really a lot of fun to listen to. I look forward to the new episodes weekly. Best part, clean language...now doesn't that fit Nintendo :-)
I absolutely love this show. I always make sure to keep a couple for binge listening during flights or long trips. I really can't stop listening - cheers!
Listen every week great job guys keep it up
Informative and insightful, I would not recommend anything else over this show. Jose and the crew are really on top of things in the Nintendo world, and they are always ready to delve deep into every topic in ways that never ceases to deliver. Also hilarious at times.
"Welcome!" If you want news and opinions about Nintendo, this is absolutely the podcast for you. The content is always interesting and the hosts are all entertaining and engaging. This is one of my favorite podcasts.
i looked forward to this podcast every week but ever since jose took it over by the end of the show i feel bad about being a nintendo fan. thanks jose😔
These guys are hilarious and huge Nintendo fans. I freaking love this show. Keep up the great work, guys
Love this podcast! Jose, Brian, and Peer share a great chemistry that make the show fantastic! Keep up the great work guys!
These guys are always brief and to the point! Nintendo content in a digestible, entertaining hour. The three guys are hilarious and I love their chemistry. Their arguments are the best
I love watching and listening to these when they go up or throughout the week if I miss a couple. Great to get some info and some insight from the crew at IGN.
A lot of fun discussion and these guys are way on top of the news. Certain opinions can be too pushy and played off as objective fact, but I guess that's just their use of editorial opinion.
By far one of my favorite podcasts! Keep em coming
This podcast is amazing!
Consistently great episodes that I always look forward to listening to. Also, Jose has great taste in music! The tracks played in the beginning, end, and during breaks are really good and should be listed in the episode descriptions so we can find them!
The show has always been good, but it's really hit it's stride in the past 6 months or so. The cast is great and the guests they bring on are always equally entertaining; just wish they had a T-Shirt!
This is one of my favorite podcasts by far, not only for Nintendo stuff but the people. I was super excited last week when they did the 8-4 play podcast (my favorite) feature. Keep up the good show.
My 12-year-old son and I look forward to this podcast every week. Personable, friendly, fun hosts with smart insights into the latest Nintendo news. Thank you José and co-hosts for keeping this podcast family friendly and keep the Bronx and Fordham Road references coming. I grew up near there too, but during the VCS generation. My son is a Nintendo fan so we are a Nintendo family now.
I love that I can listen to this podcast without having to worry about language. There're so many great podcast out there that are ruined with filthy language. Maybe as an adult I shouldn't have to worry about language, but it's important to me to keep it classy. This is a classy podcast. And I love all of your voices.
The is the best podcast for any Nintendo fan, great cast they're fun & informative my favorite podcast keep up the good work
Always happy to listen this. Also great to have a real Nintendo industry veteran in Peer Schneider joining every week
A lot of people hate on this podcast because new peeps took over. It's still great - these guys love Nintendo, they love games, and it's very fun(ney) and interesting listening to their opinions and the news they give. I'd recommend!
I look forward to these podcasts every week. The hosts are funny and are not at all biased. They will give Nintendo credit where it is due and aren't afraid to call out some of the shortcomings Nintendo has as well. Keep on doing what you are doing!
Excellent Nintendo coverage and discussion. Interesting guests and quality conversations. Keep it up!
I know The title is odd, but it's true. I like these guys! They help me keep up with stuff I don't hear about thorough out the week. I like the way they organize the show as well. I like these guys! Rock on NVC.
This podcast is the best Nintendo podcast around.i just wish it were longer. I really enjoy the nostalgia episodes, we need more of those. Keep up the awesome work. Thanks!
