I’m only 10 but that doesn’t mean I don’t listen to podcasts. No such thing as a fish is The best podcast ever you should have seen them live it was hilarious👍👍👍
I'm just a few episodes into this podcast, but love it so far! Sounds like several friends just sitting around sharing odd knowledge on things in a way I could see doing with my own friends. Not political, don't have to worry if I have kids in the car, and I learn a lot of interesting stuff!
This podcast is absolutely fantastic and I hope it never stops. If Anna could be featured as much as possible that would be great! Love the whole crew of QI Elves, but Anna is just so very funny!
Hilarious as stand-alone episodes, but even better when you get to know the hosts. It feels like riffing on your friends, except your friends are a lot more funny and interesting than usual. I recommend this podcast to everyone. Been listening for years now and I’m still excited every time I put one on.
Funny and informative. After years of listening no other podcast has come close.
I’m 7yrs old and I’m super tall and if I fell from laughing it would be worth breaking a bone DEFENITLY
This is the best podcast I have ever read
Nice easy background listening. A new favorite of mine
My favorite podcast!!! Amazing facts and hilarious jokes. I love how throughout the episode everyone makes call backs to the first few facts. I love the groups chemistry. Anna is my favorite
Been listening for 4 years and has been some of the best content in this weird wonderful world of the internet.
This show actually makes me roll on the floor and laugh. So funny. Thanks guys.
One of my favorites. Such interesting facts, and the guys are great. Feels like you’re just hanging out with them.
My favorite podcast. This always the first podcast I recommend whenever someone asks what I’m listening to these days.
I just got an iPod nano, so I was like, hey, lets try some podcasts! By the beginning, I was hooked. Downloaded every episode. Love you guys!!!
...for this show! This was one of the first podcasts I subscribed to, and I never get tired of it. I binge-listened to every episode available here, and while the ‘facts’ presented are sometimes less than factual, they are topped with enough wit to make it well worth the listen. No Such Thing as a Fish has caused me to laugh out loud in public places like a crazy person on the bus or at the grocery store, and I don’t regret one second of it.
Really funny podcast and very informative
One of the funniest podcasts out there
Funny, entertaining, educational and very silly. One of the best podcasts in the world.
Super duper approve. Best British nerds to listen to. Would nerd again.
This is my all-time favorite podcast! I have listened to every episode twice, as well as their audiobooks. Interesting facts and stories told by a group with amazing chemistry. Always makes me laugh and puts me in a great mood.
brilliant, funny & informative!
What can I say. There just isn’t. Love listening to this whole falling a sleep, it’s such a lovely and entertaining way to end my day. ///\ _ ///// //\ |||\ //// //// |||| ||||| //// _____ \\\\ ||||| |||| /////—\\\ \\\\\/////////////////// /|||\ ////////////////////////. /|||/ /////////////////////////|||||/ ///////////////////////////// \/////////////////////// \//////////////// ////////////// //////////////
See you wouldn’t think a 45 minute podcast about facts would be hilarious but these guys manage to make it funny and entertaining every week
A great show full of weird facts. I look forward to it every Friday.
This has become my favorite podcast. The presenters are hilarious and the manner in which each plays off of the other is brilliant. I recommend this podcast to everyone.
This is one of my favorite podcasts, would highly recommend!
One of my favorite podcasts ever!!!
One of the few podcasts where I feel a bit smarter after listening.
The QI Elves never fail to inform and brighten my days. Their logical scrutinizing of each other’s facts, their willingness to be silly, their brilliant call-backs, and their individual ability to admit when a fact isn’t holding water all make me trust what I learn from them. They are my motivation to go to work on Monday mornings and give my work week a brilliant start. Hail the QI Elves!
If you enjoy QI, or deeper dive trivia this is a great and entertaining show.
I absolutely love this podcast. So much fun and I learn so many great tidbits that I end up sharing with other people later. My girlfriend complains that it’s all I talk about!
Love it love it love it. Great listen for anglophiles!
hilarious and entertaining but I come out of it feeling like I’ve actually learned something!
I didn’t even know I needed this podcast. It fills a comedy niche. So great.
I love waking up Saturday mornings to a new episode of No Such Thing as a Fish. It’s filled with interesting trivia, and the hosts are very funny. 5 stars!
I listen, I laugh, I learn. Fantastically funny podcast with witty facts and fun podcasters.
Gotta love their silly facts, and they’re great with their little quips and comments! I especially love their callback jokes. In addition to that, they rarely ever bring up modern politics, and don’t shove their political views into the show, which is a breath of fresh air. I love listening to them as I fall asleep, on 1/2 speed, which makes them sound drunk. It makes it even more funny, and I fall asleep with a smile on my face! 6/5 stars if I could, definitely recommend to anyone!
Can’t wait to hear what these guys do next!
I can’t wait to get my new episode every week! Turned all of my family on to it. I’ve learned so much, laughed, and REALLY hope I can get to see you all on tour in the UK or that maybe you’ll come to the states.
There isn’t really a bad episode in the bunch and it’s easy listening. You learn something and it’s a funny show.
I love this show. It’s my gateway into podcasting. Starting listening 3 years ago or so. Listen to each episode 2-3 times, because you always catch more facts! Was drawn to the show as a fan of QI, but stuck around because Anna, Andy, James, and Dan are awesome! (Anna is my fave, she is so witty).
The QI elves are the antidote to these times. Interesting information and very funny hosts.
There not a episode where I have not laughed or been intrigued. Great Podcast.
I tell so many people about this podcast (I’m in the US). It’s smart, funny and weird. Love it!!!
I am working backwards and am on episode 118. What a joy. Hoping that I can start at the newest and do the whole thing all over again.
Very simply, the absolute brightest part of my week. For years....hugs and kisses Zaphod Beeblebrox
Great charisma between hosts. Funny and interesting facts, this is definitely not like some dry school lesson. The hosts find unique and interesting stories to share and tell each other and the way the interact will have you laughing and going “huh, I never knew that!”
These fact nerds are my companions on my commute to and from work. QI stuff but with detailed backgrounds.
This is a great podcast. Love listening to it with my son(11yrs old). Who is the guest on episode 247 can he come on the podcast more often. He is an amazing voice. 😊😎🥰
I do wish they would get the mixing fixed so the music didn’t blast you out but I love their take on the world.
This needs to be better known in the US. I literally snorted out loud on the subway listening to it. Also worth buying the “missing” second season. ON WITH THE PODCAST!
Great hosts, interesting facts, and a lot of laughs.
Always hilarious and I learn something new every time.
I love learning new things, and this show is perfect. Tons of factoids I didn't know, and everyone is also very funny. I look forward to every episode and they make me laugh out loud. I also end up regaling my friends and husband with all the weird things I've learned. I often Google whatever they are talking about so I can fall down a rabbit hole of interesting stuff. :)
The four hosts have great chemistry - smart, funny podcast.
I first discovered this podcast looking for some background noise for boring chores, but quickly started to love it. I always have fun listening, and learn new things too!
British humor is the best.
I started listening just before a long roadtrip and binged through a dozen episodes in just a couple of days. It's one of my go-to chill out podcasts.
I shouldn’t have to go on a hunt through years of material to find current episodes in Apple podcasts.
4 hosts, 4 facts, discussion and jokes. Listener beware, some of the presented “facts” are not actually facts. But then, some of the “jokes” aren’t really jokes either. Lovely stuff.
I absolutely LOVE this podcast! The hosts are all amazing and funny, and all bring a special something to the table. I can’t get enough.
It’s always a pleasure to listen to people having this much fun. Great trivia too.
The Fish podcast is so good that I'd pay to listen to it.
I must say, about a third of the knowledge I have comes from this podcast. The elves are hilarious and it’s so interesting! I listen every week.
I always find myself laughing out loud in public places and receiving odd looks in return. The amazing people on this show are so so smart and funny and I’m so addicted! I cheer in a most unusual manner whenever a new show comes out because I have listened to the show right back to 2015! I dread to think how long that means I’ve listened in the past year..... Anyway. Please listen! You will not regret it!
I never get tired of this podcast! It is so fun and funny! I always learn something new and I always find myself guffawing in public to the show. Easily my favorite podcast.
Definitely one of my favorite podcasts. Combines weird facts and hilarious comments in such an enjoyable way.
I'm addicted to this podcast - Everything from meaningful (potentially usful for your next trivia night?) facts to hilarious minutiae - all presented by some really fabulous hosts - even if they are on the wrong side of the pond...
Top 5 podcast for me. I love the flow of conversation between the hosts. The majority of facts and tidbits of information are interesting and funny, and even when they're not, the fact falling flat is as well.
Unfortunately, this was my introduction to podcast. “Unfortunately” because now I struggle finding anything that can live up to this. I have been listening to No Such Thing almost since it first came about and now everyone is impressed by the random facts that I know. My only critique is that I’ve struggled finding the sources they’ve used for their facts, as they don’t really make it available on the website, which would be nice.
This podcast is an index and obscure prologue to the history of lust and foul thoughts. Five stars . . . and one handkerchief. Peter
The greatest podcast ever. Just pick an episode and start listening. Non topical, non sequential, just episode after episode of intriguing and hilarious facts.
So funny. Give it a listen. Anna is amazing.
It's my favorite podcast. Started listening to it about 6 months ago and since then I have gone back and listened to all the older ones.
For this show. Annnnd I’m ashamed of myself for that pun.
Very funny podcast. Lots of great inforation to talk about with your friends.
Wish I could more easily watch QI—what little I’ve seen of it makes me think I’d love it. This podcast is a close second: panel discussion about interesting topics with lots of laughs. Can’t wait for their audiobook to come out in the US. I almost bought the physical book but wasn’t sure how good it’d be without the overtalking/interjections!
I cannot get enough of this show. The warmth and friendliness of the panel is like eavesdropping on friends. And, the humor gets me through my work day. I've just started watching No Such Thing as News on Youtube.
I LOVE THIS PODCAST!! There are few things that make my commute to and from work more enjoyable than listening to the ridiculous and wonderful facts presented each week. I love that I now am known as the friend with an uncanny knowledge of off the wall facts, all thanks to you! Thank you!
Only 2 things could make this podcast better 1. More facts/longer run time and 2. A tour in the US
Number 100 in Comedy on iTunes? Preposterous. This should be top 3, easily. Love it!
I love your podcast, it is hilarious and fascinating
I listen to a lot of podcasts, but this is the only one I love so much I watch the moment I know it’s out. The facts are always brilliant and always spark great conversations with friends. So. Good.
I used to love this podcast, I’m so sad to see it go downhill. Unfortunately they now have a feature where you can’t skip over the adds. Now I never skipped them in the first place, but I found that to be really, really skeevy with all of the net neutrality issues. I feel like they should know better.
I’ve been a weekly Fish listener for 2.5 years, this is still the best podcast I subscribe to. I would especially recommend listening if you have social anxiety or just want to feel like the smartest person at the dinner table, as each episode gives you four interesting but repeatable factoids with plenty of context to draw the interest and spark the imagination of the listener.
I was shocked to see this podcast only had 445 ratings. Friends, do yourself a huge favour and download this ASAP. Not only will it enrich your mind, make you laugh, and wile away the hours, you also end up feeling like you're just hanging out with some really good friends. I never tire of sharing the weird and wonderful facts I learn each episode and I am very jealous of your job.
My favorite podcast. Laugh out loud funny.
Found this podcast a little while back just randomly browsing iTunes and it became an instant favorite! Went through all available episodes within a month. The QI elves have great banter that I can’t find anywhere else. I love learning something new every week too and eagerly wait for the weekly release around 2pm on Fridays. Definitely my most enjoyed and most loved podcast out there!
I love this podcast--I've binged my way through the entire back catalogue and now I need the books. This carries on the QI mix of humor and arcane knowledge and there's nothing better!
I'm always on the lookout for funny podcasts. Finding ones that are not obscene or totally biased in some direction, or to juvenile is very difficult. This one is perfect! They are always funny, and can be off color without being raunchy. I am not taking the time to look up their facts I feel like there is some semblance of reality in their jokes. I have one request, please if you reference a website, please put it in your show description to make it easy to find
Fish was the first podcast I ever listened to and remains a firm favourite. Often end up laughing out loud on the subway.
It's rare to find a podcast that's not only witty, but one from which you can always learn fascinating things. And to top it off, the Elves are extremely likable. Consistently a great listen.
I look forward to this every week, and it's a go-to when I need something to listen to while working. They seem to have fixed the issue that they had with the introductory ads causing playback issues, so I can go back to appreciating the silly puns and bad jokes and camaraderie whenever I want.
Been listening since episode 1 came out; love it!
This is the perfect podcast for anyone who loves facts and comedy! Each week, each of the 4 hosts presents a fact and the others present related facts. The hosts are very witty, often coming with clever observations and jokes. The show never feels forced, and it always feels like everyone is genuinely enjoying themselves. This is my absolute favorite podcast ever.
I have a backlog of other podcasts to listen to but I just can't bring myself to stop listening to NSTAAF. I've listened to about 75 of them and I'm seriously considering getting the "lost" ones. Oh, and make sure that you don't skip the live shows. They are just as fantastic as the studio shows.
Have listened for a long time and it's become something I look forward to each week. Reliably funny, interesting, and entertaining.
Podcast is fantastic every week. Makes this American envious that we do not have people who are at once smart and funny.
I've been listening to No Such Thing as a Fish since almost the very beginning and haven't met an episode that disappointed me. The hosts are the best and are constantly making me laugh out loud. Take a look at No Such Thing as the News to put faces with the voices. #getannaontwitter
One of my favorite podcasts. Funny and gives great small talk fodder with the absurd facts you pick up.
Stick to the format, we don't need a Feminist agenda pushed on everybody here too.
Hilarity mixed with tons of information - what's not to love?
Awesome podcast! Love the facts and the humour of the hosts, always look forward to new episodes, 5/5.
This is the best podcast around. Stop listening to everything else and just binge listen to No Such Thing As A Fish. This is the best advice I can give anyone. *sometimes the audio is very quiet and I have to put it on max volume in my car. But there is nothing I want more than no such thing as a fish at max volume.
Love, love, love. It should be bottled and sold as anti-depressant. This podcast is a wonderful antidote to stupid. Love.
Very entertaining format and highly entertaiing.
One of my favorite podcasts ever. All presenters have fantastic (and incredibly quick) wit and humor. The kind of people I'd like as friends. My only issue -as a Yank- is that sometimes their accents are hard to decipher. NSTATN is also awesome!
QI fun facts in my ear!
Favorite podcast by a country mile!
Enjoyable mix of facts and farce.
Second only to Stuff You Should Know for consistently interesting facts, serious funniness, camaraderie. If you hate expanding your working knowledge of things and laughing hurts your face this is not the one for you. I won't give it any less stars for this but the engineer seems not to know what microphone placement or software compressors are. Andy seems to dip out a lot. Many rewinds and knob turns trying to hear him.
Love, love, love this podcast. I totally sort my podcasts by favorites and this one is near the top. I have never met a piece of trivia I didn't like, so this is right up my alley. Also, the humor and snark make what is already a good podcast into a great one. The only downside? It's TOO funny and I find myself laughing like an idiot on the bus. Well worth it, though. Also? I have no idea why people are complaining about the audio. I can hear everything perfectly.
Such a fun and entertaining podcast. Full of interesting facts and the hilarious back and forth of presenters.
Love this show. Love the gang. Easily my favourite podcast (AND YouTube show!)
Witty entertaining audio gold
The elves do a good job of finding tons of random facts to share in a conversational and humorous way!
Delightful! Makes me smile and laugh every time!
Listen every week, one of my favorite comedy podcasts
It will entertain you.
I spout off facts throughout the day and everyone thinks I'm brilliant. Little do they know!
The podcast works like this: each of the 4 cast members comes up with the most interesting fact they've heard in the last week. All 4 cast members then riff on each fact for 5 - 10 minutes or so. It's all very polite -- nobody talks over each other. If you think this sounds boring or stuffy, it's not. To me, it is very inventive, interesting, and most importantly funny. (And it borders on hilarious at times. I know the people who see me laughing during my walks must wonder what's going on.) No Such Thing as a Fish is one of the podcasts that I'll listen to as soon as it gets downloaded. Definitely a 5 star rating from me.
Gave me a good chuckle and despite my best efforts I may have learned something.
Always a fun quick podcast in my queue to listen to.
I've listened to every episode, loved all of them and every fact along the way. I do wonder at the validity of some of the other facts that are said in conjunction with the main fact, but like with most things in life if it's said with enough confidence, it isn't questioned. There are some episodes with sound issues, but after over 125 episodes it would be weird to not have one with a problem like that. Although I don't mind the live episodes, they are not my favorites and I rarely listen to them more than once or carefully at all.
This is why I wish the barrier between products from other countries would be eliminated. More British programming I wish is could access regularly. The panel of four each has their fact of the week. The others then just kinda riff off that fact. Each week has it's own 'wow I didn't know that' moment.
If you like your comedy to be smart--and your smarts to be funny--I recommend giving Fish a try. While the podcast's interest comes from the random collection of out-of-the-way information that the group contributes each week, the charm definitely comes from the Elves themselves. They are all clearly nerds who happen to be funny--rather than funny people trying to be smart--and the fact that they take such evident joy in what they do makes it an absolute pleasure to listen to them riff off their subject matter and each other. These weekly conversations generally careen back and forth between being genuinely informative and gaspingly silly--and not infrequently both at the same time. Listening in is a bit like being the quietest member of the best nerds' night out imaginable.
This is a fantastic podcast. The structure is a clean medium pace with no real lags. The crew is very funny and cohesive. The facts are mostly either funny and/or interesting. They could swear a little more for my liking but I've been a subscriber for over a year and I love it. I've never seen the show QI but I mean to check it out if these guys work on it. 5 Stars
Super good podcast, very funny and informative. The live shows are even better than the studio shows.
Grows your brain and tickles your funny bone. Guaranteed smiles.
No such thing as a fish is a perfect blend of mind bending facts and witty British humor
I really enjoy this show and Good Job Brain.
Hands down one of my favourite podcasts. It's easy to follow conversation, very witty back and forth, and makes me a lot more interesting at parties ;-)
This lot makes me laugh and teaches me things at the same time. The cast has a great time together and you can tell they enjoy when they surprise each other. I look forward to No Such Thing As A Fish episodes because I know I will learn something interesting, add to the collection of fairly useless information in my brain (that's not a bad thing), be inspired to scour the Internet for interesting things myself and get in a few giggles along the way.
This is by far the best podcast I've ever subscribed to. I have been a fan of QI for years, and this podcast and its spinoff bbc series are a wonderful addition to my watching and listening habits. The panelists are intelligent, witty, and irresistibly funny. I look forward to listening every week and am thankful for their work!
Love this show. Great assortment of true and interesting facts.
I love listening to these guys! Always gives me a bit of something to break awkward silences at work.
This is my new favorite podcast; ever week four brilliant comedic minds bring you a fact each and pick it apart in hilarious ways while sprinkling in related facts in between. Some of the facts are so outlandish that I have to remind myself they are indeed facts and not just joke setups. This podcast proves that reality is indeed often stranger and funnier than fiction. At the end of each episode I've always learned something and laughed nearly the whole time. I recommend staring wth the most recent one as they sometimes are topical, but certainly work your way back as there is no bad episode (Aside the ones wth audio issues) Highly recommended and for everyone (whether you like "This American Life" or "How did this get made?"), it should be on the top charts.
NSTAAF has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts. Not only educational, it's also hilarious like its tv relative, QI. Well done, all!
What a fun and funny podcast. Loads of obscure facts from people with possibly the best job ever.
From now on, the bulk of my knowledge will come from No Such Thing As A Fish. I may not be equipped for the actual, working world but I will be the most annoying know-it-all at parties.
Very interesting podcast with current information and history mixed in a very humorous format.
Thanks for making this great podcast, my favorite elves!!
Wonderful podcast. The perfect mix of teaching/edu-tainment and comedy. I look forward to their new shows every week. Thanks for hours of entertainment on my walks home!
Tis is the perfect podcast. Subscribe now, you're welcome
I love QI and I love this. Great banter between the host with some incredibly funny and useless facts.
I love listening to this! It's fun, it's funny, it's informative! Thanks guys!
Whether I'm running or just hanging with a beer No Such Thing As A Fish is always a great listen. It's hilarious, fascinating and dubious all at once! Love it.
Better than fried rice but not quite as good as general tso's chicken. You do the math.
The people presenting the information, the unusual topics, and the comfortable comic twist(s) make this podcast a cut above the others
Loving the British wit and humor (or is that humour?) from the other side of the pond.
A treat to listen to every week.
I love love love this show! They keep me in stitches and I probably look like a crazy person who is silently cackling in my car as people drive by me. Funny and smart. Great info to win all the obscure trivia nights in pubs.
I was very pleased when I discovered that the QI Elves had a podcast And I listen to this weekly podcast and sometimes I'll say something I heard to a friend and said "that's a very QI thing" to which I'll say, quite right, I got it from No Such Thing As a Fish!
No necessary information, no uplifting themes, not at all useful, and goofy as hell. What more could you want in a podcast?
This is absolutely one of my favourite podcasts. Love the zany facts, hilarious banter and obvious friendship of the presenters. Couldn't be better.
It's not boring
Ok guys, it's time for you to subscribe to this podcast. English humor at its best. My qualifications for saying that include: a complete bewilderment towards the english people's ability to use and abuse double-entendre at the drop of a hat. We in america have: running refrigerators :(
Really love this show. Gives my plenty of facts to annoy my friends and family with.
Always entertaining and informative. These guys are really funny. I look forward to it every week
I have been listening to this podcast since day one and have never been disappointed. Interesting facts told by funny people!
Sometimes apocryphal, but entertaining
Excellent topics, production, chemistry.
Four facts found by four friends, about which everyone provides further information relating to the facts, resulting in 30 minutes of laughter and insight.
The most entertaining way of educating yourself. The QI Elves provide comedy and facts in equal measure. Great podcast!
A compellingly nightmarish psychodrama in which our protagonist (played by Andrew Hunter-Murray) confronts his fear of puppets made out of fingers by fragmenting his personality into its core components: Disdain (played by Dan Schrieber), Lust (played by James Harkin), and also Disdain (played by Anna Ptaszynski). While parts seem overly influenced by Hidetaka Miyazaki's work (esp. Bloodborne), overall this is a well-constructed work of horror recommended to fans and enemies of Seals & Crofts.
By far my favorite podcast. It's always funny, and really interesting. I'm always waiting for Friday so I can listen to the new episode, and I listen to old episodes all the time. Well worth a try.
Look forward to this every week
Folks in the US may not have heard of a TV show called Q I. It's hosted by Stephen Fry. Behind the scenes are a bevy of brilliant young minds researching fun facts of the day. Apparently they decided to have a podcast and discuss these facts; interesting things that didn't make it into the show on TV. I can't encourage you enough to try it it's a half hour of smart fun and wit unlike anything you'll hear stateside. It's only half an hour so what have you got to lose? But if you're like me, you'll subscribe and tell all your friends.
This podcast is hosted by the researchers/writers behind the popular BBC TV show QI. Every week the four hosts begin with four major facts and discuss amusing details and related facts.
So glad to have found this podcast, amusing, interesting and informative. Highly recommend.
Love the show both as a podcast and video. Keep it up
No Such Thing is one of the best podcasts you can download.
There couldn't be a podcast more tailor-made to my sensibilities. Trivia + humour? Sign me up! I love the hosts' chemistry with each other, and more often than not, I am chuckling at my desk while listening to each episode.
The elves of QI provide both an interesting and enlightening show, detailing a wide range of random facts and pieces of knowledge.
I so look forward to this podcast. It's fun, informative and just plain silly. I just may have to say that it's my weekly favorite podcast.
This is my favorite fun weekly podcast
funny and smart......best part of my fridays
I love factoids and funny ones are even better!
So much fun and so interesting. I find myself re-listening to episodes since there is so much to learn!
One of my new favorite shows. I love learning all the strange facts and information they find out.
After seeing the show, No Such Thing as the News, I came to these podcasts. This is my new favourite podcast. Really funny and quite interesting! These guys are all legends.
The conversation is great to listen to. The volume isn't consistent, though. Some parts are very quiet and require the volume to be turned up then a very loud part comes on and the volume has to be lowered. This happens several times per episode.
A must listen.
One of my absolute favorite podcasts. I look forward to the new release every week. And their new tv show on the BBC is amazing: No Such Thing As the News.
I love this show.
This is the greatest podcast in the entire human history of facts. There will never be better facts. We have achieved peak fact. Goodnight.
A podcast spin-off of a wildly successful TV series, that now the BBC are looking to turn into a TV series in its own right. The QI elves are wonderful to listen to. Their voices are pleasant, their facts are about anything under the sun, they've got a playful naughty streak to their humor, and by the time you've caught up you're ready to go back to the first episode and listen all over again.
The QI Elves are hilarious and just have a crazy amount of knowledge that they can spout off at a moment's notice. I love listening to them and I inevitably do actually learn something.
A five star podcast that gets one star taken away only because Stephen Fry is not on it. Is that capricious and entitled? Yes. Nevertheless, until they bring him on as a regular, four stars it shall remain.
Loved the R-rated show with Corey Taylor....seems like Anna was purposely baiting him at the end....Great show, great podcast! Keep it up Elves!
A podcast you can actually learn from & laugh along the way!
I love this podcast. As an American, I think all British people are smarter than me, and this podcast is doing nothing to dissuade me.
I have a long commute so I listen to *all* the podcasts and this is far and away my fav (well and Answer Me This). I wish it came out daily!
I wasn't sure about this podcast when I downloaded it, but it is officially my favorite. I am a trivia lover, and I get such a kick out of the info the QI Elves offer every week. There is a lot to be said for their delivery, too. I often find myself laughing out loud at random moments (causing the people around me to look at me like I'm crazy!) I highly recommend this show to anyone who's into trivia or just wants to learn a little bit more about our weird world.
Really good podcast, and when I realized that I listened to all of them.. I cried and felt as if I had to find another one... I still to this day haven't found a better podcast.
Waiting for this show to plateau could take a while. It keep getting better, funnier, and most interesting each episode.
Educational, albeit not always accurate —but that's not the point. The podcast is one of the funniest out there, and the hosts are generally nice and fun people. Jokes can feel forced sometimes, but that's forgivable given that 99% of other comedy podcasts are full of forced humour. Some people have criticized the audio quality. Well, yeah, maybe. Never bothered me though, and why would it matter anyway. You don't listen to these podcasts like music, it's all about the content, not sound.
Someone recommend this to me and I finally got around to listening to an episode and I was hooked. Love your show keep up the great work.
If you love trivia and British accents you will simply adore this show. It is centered around four bits of trivia the hosts come up with and then about 10 minutes of trivia riffing on each one (in delightful British accents). Very easy to just pick up or drop and any point, ideal for traveling, be it for vacation of a daily commute.
Sometimes it really only takes a couple of minutes to know when it's right. First half of the first episode I listened to I knew I loved this podcast....hilarious and informative, hosts who are both well informed and absolutely hilarious in an improvisational manner.... a rare treat and an instant subscription.
QI Elves have made this my new favorite podcast. They make learning interesting facts fun and funny. The chemistry between Anna, Dan, James, and Andy is what makes this podcast a success. When they bring in substitutes, I find the show banal and skip it. But the four elves make great magic together. I listen on walks with my pooch and can’t help bursting into laughter.
At first the audio quality bothered me. Now either they improved it or the content is so good that I don't notice it. It's very funny.
I am addicted to these podcasts. I listen with my boyfriend when we are driving. They are so funny and we end up learning a lot and actually remembering some of the facts ;) Well done on a brilliant product!
Very interesting and funny show. A pleasure to listen to. Thank you for making my drives more bearable.
This podcast has the conversations I wish my friends and I had. Love it.
Combines everything I love: worthless trivia, British accents and off-color humor... Probably one of the best recommendations I've gotten from the pod on pod podcast, now it's in my listening rotation.
The QI elves who present this are every bit as entertaining as the guests who regularly appear on the show. A great podcast in its own right regardless of its affiliation to QI.
Found this podcast about a week ago. Since then I've listened to three quarters of all the published podcasts (68 total at the time of this review). I LOVE this podcast. You get to hear all sorts of zany and wacky facts and the hosts are, simply put, hilarious. I've actually had to pull my car off the highway once because I was laughing so hard. Additionally, if you like this show, check out "Good Job Brain". It's an American version in a similar style as this podcast. You can find it here on iTunes.
Absolutely the best series I've ever encountered!
I love this show, but sometimes I have crank up the volume in the car for the quieter annoucers only to be *BLASTED* out the window when one of the others comes on
Then you will love this podcast
Heard about this from podonpod. Great recommendation
This podcast is excellent. I listen every Saturday without fail. They are incredibly funny with such great facts. I couldn't recommend them more!
Funny facts-based chats in good company. Have only listened to two episodes so far, but I'm pretty sure I'll be subscribing for a while. I rarely find myself laughing out loud in public but No Such Thing... has already made me make a fool of myself on the street twice :-)
I really like this goofy, quirky, funny, informative podcast!
Could use a little help in the audio department, sound can be week. Doesn't stop me loving the show. #getannaontwitter
Poor audio persists. Could be minimized if participants did not talk over each other and in some cases just slowed down. Some segments are just too noisy to listen. Too bad because it is otherwise a good show.
The facts are great, the personalities mesh, and I forget 92% of what I've heard twenty minutes after each episode ends. Then, weeks later, some conversational trigger is pulled and I'm the star of my social circle for knowing that rats can't do the deed while wearing polyester pants. If that's not with a few moments of your time, I'm not sure what is.
I was so enjoying the show, thinking "I should tell my brother and parents about this." And then someone drops an F-bomb. Really guys?! I can swear like a sailor, 'cause I was one, but choose not to use that language in public. I'm off to a newer podcast horizon with better language skills.
This is an excellent little podcast for listeners who are looking for a QI fix or are interested in random facts. The content is top notch -- focused on a few main facts, the elves flesh out each fact with relevant quick facts that never cross the line from fun and informative to overly pedantic. As other reviewers have commented, NSTAAF has a few audio issues, but the microphone quality has definitely improved since the first few episodes; the QI elves were probably determining whether the podcast was worth using a higher quality mic system, and I'm glad that they did put in the extra funds. The only audio issue I still have is the interlude music (the same tune from the intro/outro) in between each main segment. Like other listeners, I find this distracting, too loud, and frankly unnecessary . Having no music in between each main fact would be just as effective without being jarring. I hope that the elves address these issues in the future, but overall the podcast is a major hit and serves for great conversation fodder at a party if you're trying to impress your friends.
Love QI, love this podcast, one for the trivia nerds
The QI Elves rock. Interesting, funny, and keeps you wanting more.
Lewis of the Yogscast talked about your podcast so I decided to check it out ,and I am very happy I did!
I listen while driving. It is so distressing that some of the 'elves' can be heard clearly and some cannot. Add a mic, employ an engineer, or just be conscientious of speaking clearly into the mic. You should all be smart enough to figure it out. I love the content, when I can hear it.
Out there in the best possible way. Unique and very original. I'm in
Love it. Except it could be longer! Make it as long as an XL episode. Just get really into it and it's over.
Has quickly entrenched itself as one of my favorite podcasts. Very funny, fascinating content, great hosts with strong chemistry. Unfortunately, the audio quality is very poor. Sounds like they're all sharing a single microphone - inconsistent volume throughout which makes for a less than pleasant experience when your eardrums are assaulted with interstitial music or sudden bouts of laughter. Still, the quality of the content overrides my desire to retain my hearing.
This podcast is fantastic! Has quickly made it into my favorites.....laugh out loud funny!
I've always wanted to hear from the QI elves!
With so much great content out there, there's no reason to suffer through the grating sounds of people who can't bother to buy a decent microphone.
Great podcast that is being hindered by far less than great audio problems. Turn up the volume enough to understand the speakers & enjoy the facts and back and forth only to have your ears blasted by the "between segment" interlude - way to loud and distorted. If levels were evened out that extra star would be gladly given. Even with the issues I'm looking forward to many more episodes. Thanks for the podcast.
This podcast is both interesting and funny. I listened to three episodes, and now am hooked.
I recently moved back to the States from Europe and can no longer see QI. So I was delighted when I found out the elves were making their own podcast. Just as funny and informative as the show. Keep up the good work!
Thoroughly enjoyable. Love the convivial atmosphere, and shared enthusiasm for bizarre information.
