Snap Judgment is storytelling thick with truth, talent, and the extraordinary treasures hidden within the human experience. It’s always a treat and touches you just where it should - the heart.
Glynn, PLEASE stop with the long poetry slam type intros! No need for this. Just get to the great stories.
Some of the best audio content around! Every episode is fantastic and I wish this show got the recognition it deserves.
This show is the absolute Gold Standard. Glynn Washington is something special -- he and the Snap Team have created the most amazing sonic experience, EVER. Listen to a new audio masterwork each and every week. This singular stew of narrative, music, sound, and performance qualifies as a unique artistic expression. How this team manages to produce over 30 brand-new episodes in a single year, with a skeleton crew, is truly amazing. Do yourself a favor and subscribe right away.
Very sad and missing the old days of Snap and Spooked.
The host needs to please please please stop talking
I understand that you need revenue to keep the show going... Just really miss hearing the whole episode... Also wish you would not repost spooked as an episode of snap... already heard mrs. Hagstrom a few weeks ago... now no full episodes and rehashing older material... Begging you to please either remove the paywall (I know that you think this is absolutely absurd) or change your show to a cheaper place... luminary is way too expensive... Super disappointed with your show, but honestly way too big of a fan to stop listening... Still not a big enough of a fan to pay to hear you...
As with many of the npr podcasts, I first heard this on the radio. It was the wonderful cadence that Washington has when speaking that snagged me. After that, this program always has top notch stories, and he'll give a sample of other equally good podcasts sometimes. I enjoy the variety this podcast has to offer. It never gets dull.
Given its variety and consistent quality, if I could listen to only one podcast, I would choose Snap Judgement. For sheer scope and artistry, I don't believe you can beat it. It's varied enough that if one segment isn't your favorite, you can be sure that the next one will be something totally new. And the host is fantastic.
The journey that Snap takes you on, we’ll it never ends up where you expect to be dropped off.
Love it, very unique and interesting stories. I don’t enjoy the weird stories in the beginning of the episodes, I always fast forward. They are just too over the top for me
You’re running out of good stories. You were my 1st podcast and I’m losing interest. Yuk
Thank you thank you thank you Glen Washington and the rest of the Snap team for telling the stories everyone wants to hear but they never knew so until they do. For telling the stories dying to be told. For connecting people around the world with stories so thoughtfully articulated that I get chills 9 times out of 10. I love your podcast and I’m so grateful I turned on NPR (I never listen to NPR) and sat in my car for twenty minutes catching a glimpse into this Snap world. I’ll never stop listening ❤️
The interview between Dr. James Fallon and Julia Dewitt was very interesting and illuminating in terms of psychopaths and their nature. While psychopaths tend to always be associated with serial killers, it is not a rule, and one can be a psychopath with going on a killing spree. This interview is catered to anyone who wants to listen to it, as it gives clear information and is quite easy to understand. They explain all terms and the situation with simplicity to allow individuals to understand more clearly. I found that this was quite an interesting and truthful story, because i have watched a lot of shows about psychology and profiling of criminals, i understand the confusion with categorizing psychopaths. You never truly know who within your peers is a psychopath, and their lack of criminal record does not mean they do not exhibit psychopathic behavior. It is giving up to dat information, explaining an individual’s personal experience and how he had the same neurological pattern as psychopaths, but did not truly believe it until he had talked with his family and friends, and they all agreed with the diagnosis. I found this incredibly entertaining and interesting, especially the part where he states that his nice guy act is all for show, but he finds it exhausting. As such, he is still performing psychopathic behavior, and manipulating others’ opinions of him for his own personal gain and self-interest. However, its a bit weird that as a professor of psychology and human behavior, he is not able to try to make a positive and genuine change, despite psychopathy not being curable.
This episode was very interesting to me. As someone who finds sociopathy and psychopathy to be very fascinating, this really provided insight on how little we really know and how truly common it can be. Someone so ordinary can easily be psycopathic but no one would really think about that but it's right in front of them. This podcast is not catered to any specific audience which is why I think it's very good. It can be understood by anyone going from Academic teachers to students to anyone enjoying the series for the stories and fun.
this show is from my point of you basically perfect. I can’t wait till the next show downloads. I love the music that plays along with the stories it really helps heighten the drama or humor of the stories being told. The people sharing their stories on here comes from all walks of life and have really interesting and amazing life stories to share. i’ve already finished this weeks episode and I am already Jones in for the next installment. I also do really love the Halloween related scary stories that they put on last year even though I had to listen to them with the lights on so that I wouldn’t freak out.
Was about a narc...stick to your scary stories and your sponsors...no wonder why this show is suffering...
While listening to this podcast and thinking over the words, I couldn’t help but be surprised that an ordinary person, someone whose a husband, whose a doctor nonetheless was psychopathic. It really put a whole twist on the old phrase of ‘not everything is what it seems.’ It seemed to be centered towards everyone and no one at the same time. Surely, we are not looking to see who or who cannot be a psychopath in our daily lives but hearing how People function with it and how even people can somewhat live normal lives gives the human mind a sense of comfort that ‘Oh, if I have this then I’m not dangerous.’ I don’t think it’s the case of having something that is led to being dangerous, more so it is what we do with ourselves. James Fallon brought his own brother to a cave where he could have been killed however he did warn him not to touch the ground (though it doesn’t excuse his lack of care for quite literally bringing his own flesh and blood into a death trap). I believe the information is up to date—to a very certain extent. Of course, as of the present, we can’t have a sure conclusion that every person with psychopathy turns out to be a murderer or simply a non-caring person who goes through life like Dr.James Fallon does. It was very interesting, at least to me. Hearing him talk about it and his experiences sucked me into it. Human beings are often interested by things that they assure themselves can never happen to them or by things they already have believed are happening to them. In my case, it’s both. Sometimes I feel like caring and acting nice is exhausting yet other times I am ready to give encouragement and heartfelt words to a friend in need. It is entertaining because it makes the brain wonder and it makes the brain think. Being a writer also has its perks as I find the podcast interesting and it leads me to wonder about making a character or even a book based around Psychopathy. I’m giving it four stars only because it was so interesting to hear. I was drawn into it and felt immersed in hearing more. Thank you for having us listen to it!
This is a great podcast with incredible clarity in the ideas and dialogue between the characters. Especially the work of the narrator, always giving a clear, elegant and captivating idea. We can also say that this podcast has a lot of material for all audiences. From the youngest to the most adult, but especially for professionals or future professionals of this branch. For me it is a very credible story, I would dare to say that it is a real story. In my opinion this podcast is very interesting, with a great teaching showing us some of the risks that psychological people have when they creat such a close relationship with their patients. For all the above I give this podcast five stars.
I love that someone for a similar background as me is able to share stories and people are listening. Thank you for giving a voice to us all.
For my psychology class, I listened to "The Scientist and the Psychopath", a 15 minute segment within the "Tin Man" episode. This was my first time listening to a podcast from Snap Judgement, so I didn't know what to expect. After listening, I can definitely say that I will be subscribing to hear more interesting topics and discussions. Along with professionals, this podcast segment is for anyone who is curious to know about psychopaths in the real world. There is a stigma surrounding psychopaths, that they are just killers like the ones seen in movies when in reality, many are highly intelligent people who function in our society. It is interesting to hear from someone who is a well-established and just so happens to be a psychopath, giving me a different perspective on the topic that I hadn't thought about before. I suggest anyone who has the time to listen to this segment!
This podcast was very well delivered. When listening to such stories and past experiences i tend to drift off and let my mind wander. When I listened to this podcast I was completely entralled on the story. The idea of a certain patern in psychopath's brain scans still leaves room for debate and isn't credible. I will gladly share this podcast with my peers.
Love the host, love the stories. I LOVE spooked and I wish that was year round
Love the show! Not so much the new “spooked” stuff, but I forgive you, Glen.
I freaking love this show! Actually went to see one of the live shows in San Francisco a couple years ago because I like this podcast so much. You must check it out!
Just The voice of this podcast is awesome I love listening to Mr. Washington and his delivery to the story. Excellent
Perfectly-produced, heart-filled, important stories EVERY time.
Storytelling with a beat!!!! The stories are amazing, diverse, thought provoking, and run the gambit of the emotional spectrum!!! Storytelling is what connects humanity and always has since the invention of language! Stories told here are amazing, every person has a story, a history, and a legacy, essentially this provides a snapshot into the unique life’s of the storytellers! Once you get a chance to hear the stories of another human it’s impossible not to feel a connection! This podcast proves that if we all slow down and take time to listen to each other and actually hear each other’s histories and experiences the world would be a better more peaceful and sympathetic place!!! Keep on relaying individuals stories and creating a version of humanities history that isn’t just the big events! The everyday stories of humanities daily struggles, successes, failures and all experiences provide an amazing history that wouldn’t be told if humans weren’t natural storytellers and everyone’s story is just as interesting and important as everyone else and these stories of everyday events contribute to mankind’s ever expanding history! I have had many driveway moments because of Snap Judgement, sitting in my car tears in my eyes, smile on my face, or listening intently to these amazing stories and even though I’m home and I could easily pause for a minute go inside and then continue, I cannot being myself stop the story! I’ll be so enthralled with a story that I have to keep listening sitting in my car! I tell everyone I talk to, that Snap Judgement is worth their time! Thoughtful, intense, intriguing, heartwarming, tearjerking, heart racing, adrenaline pumping, heartbreaking, fear inducing, anxiety producing, are just a few of the words and phrases one could use to describe this beautiful work of artistry! The accompanying music compliments the stories so perfect, capturing the exact emotions required to deliver each story to another level entirely!!!
Bad move! It’s really unfair to devoted listeners who helped you grow the podcast to now move it to a paid forum. Without us, you wouldn’t have the success you do and we can’t be expected to pay for several different services. It’s getting ridiculous. I’m tired of podcasts doing this.
My favorite podcast.... keep falling in love with each day!
Refreshing and often hard hitting. Well told stories you just can’t find anywhere else. My go to podcast!
I love this show. I enjoy listening to stories, and this podcast is full of great stories. My only criticism is that Glynn isn’t the best at enunciating his words. Sometimes his words blend together, and are sort of garbled out. I feel like that’s an important part of hosting audio entertainment. However, they still get 5 stars out of me.
Your show is great but how could anyone from snap judgement think the cheesy totally overacted podcast “the truth” is in any way worth our time. I want my 30 minutes back.
Glen calling the President a Nazi assured me I no longer want to listen to stories told by foolish children.
I can’t stomach the episode on Vukovar. it is tragic, yes - But what the Serbs did to the Bosnians has more depth to report on
As a doctoral student in an education program, short of my daily Bible devotional, Snap Judgement is my go-to for getting outside myself. These stories are extremely relevant in painting the beautiful mosaic that is the United States. I am thankful for this gift and, will be wearing my SNAP gear with pride while I happily enlighten those who dare to ask what my gear is about as I invite them to also get on the SNAP train.
There is always a pop and the crackle is there too. Never bland and always exciting this is podcasts at their best. If you don’t listen you really should.
If you listen long enough, it feels like most are re-runs. At least they label them as snap classics now.
People telling stories that colorfully highlight intense events in their lives comprises the centerpiece of this show. There is also a lovely blend of stories told in front of a live audience (backed by the “Snap Judgement “ band) and other stories studio recorded with added illustrative sound effects, even music sometimes. I find the host to be just a fascinating man, who shares snippets of his incredibly colorful life as lead ins to many of the stories. You will also find some whimsical diversions by professional storytellers which are odd, whimsical, and frequently hilarious. Around the end of August the “Snap Judgement” crew compiles a mini series of ghost/spooky/paranormal/thriller stories that they maintain each year on a separate pod cast called “Spooked”. I listen to them all.
When Snap drops and episode it comes first in my feed! Great stories!
So well told, so well laid out, such great stories.
If you enjoy hearing people tell their stories, look no further. Every episode is entertaining and gives a new perspective into the human condition. Despite the name, no judgement is given.
This podcast is everything. The host has a beautiful voice I could listen to for hours, and the stories are rich and close to the home, and interesting, and human.
This podcast is like chamomile for the soul. Thank you for bringing these perspective-stretching, heart-tugging tales into our lives. Specific shoutout to Katie Leavitt’s Stories of a Baby Snatcher for giving me all the feels. Keep the stories coming - you’re changing the world one tale at a time.
I I CANNOT IMAGINE something like this. It is so devastating. Loss of a child is by far the most painful thing a mother “can” endure. 😭😭
SnapJudgement is the most enthralling, engrossing, & entertaining podcast. I love it!
I usually listen to Snap Judgment (with great excitement and anticipation) on my way to work every Friday morning. Sometimes I wonder as I did this morning, with tears streaming down my face, why do I put myself through this? My heart is breaking - why don’t I just stop? The answer came to me that I listen so that my heart DOES break. I listen so that my heart stays soft, concerned with what is happening to other humans, and it causes me to reach out to others in their pain. Many episodes are hilarious or informative - thank you for that! But ones that hurt are the ones I remember most. I appreciate this podcast. I believe it makes a difference to the human family. Thank you.
That’s what I feel when listening to this podcast. Sometimes I cringe which is a good thing in my privileged life. Sometimes I see myself which is a humbling relief. Keep it coming. ❤️
I’ve been listening to podcasts since my teen years, over 20+ years now, and Snap is flat out, my favorite of ALL-TIME. Glenn’s quote in the title says everything - it’s a mighty mission and he and the snap team accomplish this every week... thank you all - keep doing what ya do!! Be sure to check out his ‘Spooked’ and ‘Heaven’s Gate’ podcasts as well.
Not only do the episodes stand alone in good listening, they range greatly in point of view. Snap Judgement episodes are consistently fascinating, and well curated by its host.
This podcast has quickly become my favorite. It’s my go-to whenever I have down time. Wish I had found it sooner.
No matter the topic, this podcast keeps me interested
Love luv lo-vah this podcast! The content, the narration, the delivery and sound quality are bar-none! Thx Mr W n krew!
i love this podcast and glynn washington!
Snap judgment is one of my favorite podcasts. With genuinely interesting stories and amazing people it’s the show that got me into listing to podcasts. Glen Washington, the shows charismatic host does a great job at building the shows vibe and character. I would give it 5 stars but there have been episodes that haven’t really held up. These episodes aren’t bad, but are more of victims of the shows own success, when it sets such high bars with its more iconic episodes.
This the the most uniquely splendid oral literary group of artists on planet earth.
I enjoy this podcast but while listening to the description of the characters in episode #1010, a woman was described as “she’s still a butcher’s wife.” Women have their own descriptions and shouldn’t be classified as their husband’s occupation.
Great, interesting stories from all over the world. The only downside is the intro music. Doesn't match the podcast in my opinion.
Thank you for bringing the gift of these stories into the world. They continue to move and transform me.
Thanks for imagining your stories through the listeners’ ears. It is like mainlining the contents. The point of view even in foreign places in your stories is not second or third person. It is first person, or better, no person at all. Japanese language is like that, many languages are. It makes a very different statement to say Happy, not I’m happy or You’re happy. It affirms life not identity.
I know that is a bold statement, form your own opinion. The sound and stories are always engrossing. Glynn Washington is one of the best narrators that there has ever been. The best part about this podcast is that after every episode is complete, I feel, and hopefully, you will, feel inspired. The podcast really gets in your head and makes you think and consider every topic and encourages the listener to relate to the story being told. I could go on but I already have. Listen up, this is one of the best anthologies committed to any form of audio entertainment.
I can definitely say that my life has been enriched immeasurably by the stories I’ve heard on Snap. Snap is soul food for the soul! Fo sho!! Now then, drum on! Taylor
Such good storytelling!
While all the episodes are fabulous, the Border Hacker was the most compelling for me. The host is great too!
Oh snap! The podcast has taken a turn for the worst. It has been by far my favorite podcast until recently. The inundation of sexual orientation and transgender subject matter have tarnished the once shining and great podcast. No longer family friendly and my subscription has to be canceled. I’m sorry that we are out of interesting stories and now have to succumb to less than wholesome content. My condolences to the rest of my fellow podcast listeners.
A funny story--but too many inaccuracies which were not disclosed until the end. It would make a better story if the other side had a say in what really went on. Israeli-Palestinian politics are too fragile for stories to be presented as one-sided, inaccurate myths or fables.
Great tales, bent and quirky, fabulous Greek chorus music. Dig it Utterly.☮️
I love the stories and the way they are told, it truly is my favorite podcast I have ever heard.
Having been in a religious cult myself for 25 years I was super interested in the first piece. Waiting for promised part 2.
listening snap years now. From Venezuela Stuart Melendez
So sweet and smooth 😎 Every episode is riveting and compelling 😎❤️
Well done Sir, well done indeed
Glen Washington is a masterful storyteller but why must he dedicate an entire episode to feed us his political bias. One less place to find peace in the current political madness. Remember, it’s just your opinion & only serves to fuel the divide.
When the stories are apolitical, it’s good stuff. But, like This American Life, and about a half dozen other once-good podcasts, this show has steadily devolved into garbage with it’s hard left politics. The most recent “Spotlight” story where a college girl is allegedly raped by a college boy is the absolute apex of the absurd levels to which the left has descended in the politics of social justice. Producing propaganda like this is not making the world better. It’s a shame but I’ll have to continue my search for something else.
I have always loved listening to stories about our humanity, so really like this podcast.....but isn’t journalism supposed to be apolitical?? Snide comments here and there about anyone who is not a Democrat, (like we are ALL the same) really gets old. I’ve never mentioned it in a review before, but I really was offended today when I started listening to the latest episode in which Glenn is interviewed by another podcaster. Not even 5 minutes in, and they are comparing being a Trump supporter/Republican to being in a cult. I am in no way saying everyone should think like I do, nor do I push my views on anyone else. When you speak derogatorily or insultingly about people who do not share your views, you don’t inspire open thought & conversation, you alienate them. Politics don’t define people.
I absolutely love this program. The stories are real and relevant— this is storytelling at its best. The sound design is epic + the way each story is delivered is just absolutely brilliant!
I used to love Snap Judgment, but Glynn inserts himself and his opinion into every story. Also, I saw him seriously posting the Trump = Hitler media hysteria. Dude’s hyperbole is just TOO MUCH. Pass.
How funny this podcast was to me - I feel the same way just about Democrats. Dems are against closing down immigration. Under Obama, the Dems cheered when he said when needed to close the border. Y’all need to decide on your message and stick with it - just saying.
I love this show with its well spoken, intelligent dialogue and critical thinking. It’s also simply very entertaining.
So interesting keeps me alive every day! Keep it up
Every episode of Snap Judgement feels like a masterpiece. To me that means it’s entertainment perfection weaving together excellent sound, music, subjects, interview style, production - and so so so interesting! I love it. Keep this up please!
This has got to be one of the best podcasts ever! Go NPR! Go Glynn Washington! What a treat!
That’s all, simply amazing
Episodes range from quirky to outrageous to just-barely-believeable. Always entertaining, usually thought provoking and definitely worth the time. How have they kept this up so long? The segments are not necessarily topical, which - to me - is a good thing. It means they don't get stale and you can get around to them as you will.
Story of two women sailing from Turkey to Canada on a 46-foot boat. Great story, but there are too many gaps. How did they get from Turkey to Atlantic? How did they get from Atlantic to Pacific Ocean? Still more chapters to be told.
Glen is a true host and snappers brace yourself! These are some of the best stories I’ve heard! Keep up the good work!
The border kHacker ..what? That’s it I’m hooked !!! Ok
I can always rely on them for incredibly unique content. I haven't found another storytelling podcast I like more. It’s shocking, honest and mind blowing. I enjoy each one of the hosts as well. Please please keep making more.
Why is this podcast covering Heaven’s Gate when the podcast “Heaven’s Gate” already exists? You’re just going to go ahead and scrape up their leftovers and try to repackage it as your own story?
I entered the world of podcasts quite late -in 2015 - with Snap Judgment. I listened to every available episode, and was completely riveted. What a fantastic group of storytellers and beat creators. It will always hold a special place in my heart, especially Episode #416 - Where No One Should Go
I started listening to Snap on NPR years before the boom of podcasting, and have continued to love the amazing stories & tone of this show. This show goes everywhere from hired mercenaires in the jungle to Rabbi's confronting white supremacist's. Glynn Washington, along with all the producer's & contributer's have created something very special & unique. Give it a listen - you won't regret it
I loved being a Snapper! However, I’ve noticed the voices sharing their stories have sped up tremendously and it is very difficult to understand. I’m taking a break until they slow down the speed of speech to an understandable pattern.
Love the storytelling! Glynn and the crew are awesome!
Who doesn’t love a good story time, especially if its scored to music and compelling orators. Excellent podcast.
I missed it for a few years because the name and picture made me think it was some kind of comedy or ? So I deleted it a few times. Then I did a search on podcasts like love and radio and this was suggested. I really like it now! It’s got some interesting stories and topics. So it’s a new binge worthy show for me.
This story, by J. Aguilera - is wonderfully done, and alas, a stark reminder of how quickly our lives and civilization can come crashing down. First a warning that you might only have 15 minutes left to live with no escape. What to do? So what are the 15 minute priorities? For a young couple - that they should have gotten married sooner.. For a Hiroshima survivor living in Honolulu - with vivid images of the devastation and hellish aftermath - that perhaps prefers not to see the nightmare a second time.. How is it even POSSIBLE, that we are at the apex of human civilization - that our forebears struggled through disease, poverty and useless/countless wars - to arrive at a post-cold war threshold that allows us but 15 minutes to reflect and be extinguished. Perhaps we should ...reflect longer. Great job Ms. J.!
Thank you for the “Not a Drill” episode. So important. We think our military can protect us at all times and in all ways. Because they have. I’m thinking of the sad day of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - did those Japanese civilians put all their trust in their military too? It happened to them, may it never ever happen again. This is a little reminder. We are vulnerable but... each day of life is a good day.
Oh you guys. So disappointed I don’t think I can listen any more. So many factual errors in Hawaii False Missile Alert episode that I don’t know if I can ever trust the truth of your stories. Let’s start with one of the very first sentences in the episode. Hawaii is NOT ONE ISLAND.
Impeccably reported and produced storytelling with a beat. I love everyone involved in this show. Thanks!
I've only heard part of one episode, but the portion I had heard - I knew of someone who had been in the same profession they were discussing, and quite frankly it gave me some insight into their career and life that I never stopped to think about. Opens the mind a tad bit. I'm not sure about production quality, but the content is outstanding. Oh, the host said if i'd left a review i'd get a magic power, which is why I'm here in the first place :-).
Amazing, deeply memorable and always well-produced!!!!
The stories are uncommon and intriguing. But the host impregnates every word that he uses with drama. So much drama that it becomes difficult to listen to. I love the stories in this podcast. In between the stories I fast forward as quickly as possible to avoid having to listen to the host mash the intro. If the host would complete a few speech classes, the podcast would be flawless.
I love this podcast!
If you like good (true) stories, this is the podcast for you. I have been listening for quite some time, so what did I finally feel compelled to write a review? The latest episode, 48 Hours in Syria. WOW. Amazing storytelling, editing, just WOW.
I love this podcast so much
True fan- I see their live shows whenever they’re in Brooklyn... funny thing is the high energy and good vibes run rampant as much in the podcast as in person. Love me some Glenn Washington. I want more cult stories
As good as advertised.
Makes everything better!
I am absolutely obsessed with this podcast. The most fascinating stories, the amazing beats and the soothing voice of Glynn Washington. I fantasize about working with this show someday. Keep it up, you guys are amazing!!!!!
Easily the best podcast for storytelling. No one does it better. I’ve been listening to podcasts for 4 years during my daily 3 hour commute and Snap Judgement takes the cake. The music and sound effects only amplify each story. Spooked is also a great series!
I love everything about this podcast- expansive, moving and eclectic stories, beautifully produced with perfect pitch.
Never before have I been compelled to review a podcast— but wow this is what I’ve been looking for!!! So many episodes and so far I haven’t found one that isn’t spellbinding. This is my new favorite podcast and I can’t stop thinking about the stories/wanting to tell everyone about them. Wish I’d found this earlier!!
This is a great podcast. The stories are amazing. My only complaint is one of interviewer has an annoying voice ( sounds like a high pitch little girl) which takes away from the stories. If they took away that person I would rate 5 stars.
I can’t get enough of this podcast! I love the host and the stories are fascinating.
Everybody says it’s the best, and it truly is.
I listen to a lot of podcasts and am amazed that SJ has managed to maintain such a high level of quality with so many episodes. I love this show. Fascinating stories and although I usually hate music in podcasts, this is done right. Brilliant show.
This is classic storytelling at its best! Just an incredible sampling of the human experience. Every episode is different but they each hold your attention. Glynn Washington is the coolest Podcast host around, thanks for giving me so many views of the worlds and the people in it.
I have listened to Heavens Gate, then started listening to Spooked which is my jam of all jams! Then I FINALLY stopped shying away from Snapped and good lord do I love you guys. This is by far the best show I listen to. It makes me cry and laugh, belly laugh, think about all aspects of life. So, thank you! This show is so well done. It’s beautiful.
I just listened to episode #917, I can honestly say it yanked my soul and shook it to the core.
Love this podcast!! Also like the Spooked series. The live show could have been better. I was looking for a variety of storytellers at the show but there were only about three people telling stories more than once. All in all, love these guys.
I love love love this Fantastic most Awesome Podcast “Snap Judgment!” Been listening for 2 Years! AND the “host” is the very BEST in the World!!
literally my favorite podcast and source of entertainment. I just wish I didn’t blow through episodes like nothing because I’m always dying for the next one. 100 % worth your time!!
Snap Judgment is one of the podcasts I've been listening too the longest, and it's wonderful to have it in my podcast feed. Some of the stories they tell have really stuck with me. They do a great job telling stories, and it's always a pleasure to listen to them!
I use to love snap judgment. It was great fun and exciting stories. Till they started reusing the same stories over and over and over...
No words to describe how much I love this Podcast!!
If you like vividly described gore, Snap Judgement and Spooked are for you. I have to opt out too frequently so it's not for me.
This is my favorite podcast of all time. Such talented journalists, writers and story tellers featured here. I laugh, I cry, and I can’t get enough!!
I love Spooked & started enjoying Snap after those were all enjoyed. I have my very Southern Military Manly Man of a boyfriend enjoying both of them AS WELL, even while he’s at work. I knew these were awesome podcasts when even my lover could enjoy them as I did. The stories are just so thought inducing. I especially love to put them on during long drives, awesome entertainment.
Every week is something different, I never know what to expect. I enjoy Glenn’s introductions. The stories keep me nagged and entertained while I drive or do chores. Thanks!
Very interesting story’s.
I just found Snap Judgement and I am lifelong fan. I find myself entwined in the stories....having to stop just to breathe.
These are stories that you remember and repeat. They give hope to the possibility of reconciliation, forgiveness, and embracing good.
Great thought provoking, funny, loving stories by all people of walks of life. Love me some Glynn. However, I would like to hear some Christian voices too. As a snapper of faith, I feel unwelcome sometimes by not being represented in this community. I love hearing stories that show how different everyone is, but also how much we are the same. I appreciate the trigger warnings. One story about a headless chicken named “Mike” begun with a trigger warning specific to vegans. I appreciated the specific nature of that warning. However, there was not one for those who are pro-life, and when one story quoted an old woman who bragged about having had 12 abortions done by herself followed with roaring laughing on a crowd, I turned it off and was shaking. Im taking a break. I will cautiously come back eventually to see if some progress was made for inclusion of pro-life snappers of faith. Update: I’m sad to hear from friends at school that PP is sponsoring Snap Judgment, they just lost some snappers. Life, womb 2 tomb. #walkaway
Not bad, I’m not an Ebonics or “hood” talk kind of person. Shows ok, wasn’t surprised by the ending of the episode. Guy gaslights, lies, says “no I didn’t”. Give it a listen. Very accurate to real life lol
The narrators are totally off. The stories are very interesting if you can stand the narrating.
Been listening for yrs and it’s a quality podcast which needs to be in your library, great stories and really well produced! The way music is incorporated really makes it stand out and I think enhances the vibe of the show and stories
I love hearing people’s stories! Happy, sad, scary and moving, Snap Judgement has it all. Great podcast!
Can’t wait for Spooked to come back! Glyn is awesome!!
Some of the stories they find are incredible and super engrossing.
This is the best podcast I’ve been able to find in years of listening to podcasts. The storytelling is amazing. I love it when the subjects tell their stories entirely in their own voices. I don’t enjoy the stories with reporter/interviewer tracks as much — to me their voices can sometimes be distracting and often seem unnecessary for many of the tales. But this is a top notch team that rarely disappoints.
I have been listening to Snap Judgement for the past three years, but I have been particularly impressed with their storytelling over the past year. They have reported on stories of war, immigrants, refugees: people on the margins of most Americans’ consciousness, and made them real and personal. They are doing social justice work. You need to listen to this podcast, to get to know your neighbors who share the world, to hear their real stories.
I can’t tell you how many excellent episodes I’ve listened to from Snap Judgment. I subscribe to several podcast and listen faithfully every day to all my favorites. This one is probably my all-time favorite podcast. The music is original and really end, the stories are unique and a riveting, and the host has a wonderful man her and way of hosting his show. I especially like the episodes Snap Judgment covers concerning nature. You may find yourself in South Africa in a 900 foot deep underwater cave. You may end up smack dab in Yellowstone, following the 06 Female as she singlehandedly takes down elk for her pack. You may even be 12 years old in the far north, in the fight of your life with a black bear and a hunting knife. This podcast is excellently done and I highly recommend it. Enjoy! And kudos to the producers of Snap Judgment.
Vvvvvvvvveeeeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyy Nnnnniiiiiiiiccccceeeeeeeeeeeee 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
I’ve been a listener for years, snap judgment is the first podcast I ever listened and still going strong!
After listening to an episode I always come away feeling thoughtful. Like a stone in my mind was unturned, a facet of my perspective has been polished. Today I listened to Secrets in the Stacks and had ordered Avi Steinberg’s book before Glynn finished his ending comments. In a shrinking world Snap Judgement makes me feel there is a huge landscape of humanity still to be explored.
This episode had me in tears. I am now hooked on Snap Judgment. This is the podcast I have been waiting for.
For real. Thank you for being a bright and thoughtful bright spot in my experience as a human working every day to make “my corner” a bit better than when I found it. The truth spoken intelligently and from the heart. Love you guys!!!!!
Snap Judgement was my first podcast love and it’s still one of my favorites. The host, Glen Washington, finds a way to bring a handful of stories together in a theme. His storytellers are diverse, emotional, deep, thoughtful, smart, fun...shall I go on? Love it.
At first I didnt quite understand Snap Judgment - then I listned to their episode; Secrets In The Stacks - about a prison system librarian, who connects a female prisoner with her long abandoned son, this story is so moving, its incredible. The world needs more stories like this one, and I am so happy that Snap Judgment brought this to me. THANK YOU SNAP JUDGMENT! THANK YOU!
Amazing stories with great production value. I’ve listened to literally 100’s of podcasts over the past 15 years and this is in my top 10 all time.
Awesome podcast that delves into the feelings and emotions we all have, set in a framework of completely unique experiences.
This is my favorite podcast by miles. Sometimes it’s funny. Sometimes it’s educational. It always leaves me thinking.
SNAP is a cut above the rest. Stories, production value and original music all combine to make an extremely original sound and somehow, every story is either extremely moving, or hilarious. Keep it up SNAP!
Love this podcast
Wonderful podcast. Thank you Glynn and the team!
Snap Judgment is easily one of my favorite podcasts. Stories from all over the place, some short and sweet, others in-depth and gritty. You never know what you’ll hear, but it’s always good. If you have the chance, attend one of Snap’s live shows for an extra treat, but never think you’re getting the second best experience if you don’t - Glynn always brings his A game. I particularly enjoy the music that accompanies each story; it’s written distinctly for each story and manages to enhance the story just as a film soundtrack does.
Best storytelling. Hope to catch a live show one day.
Just listened to 4/19/18 episode and the wind knocked out of me said “wow” and once again Snap proves it’s audio chops in the field of all pods. A. Sussman is a gem of a reporter: smart with a voice like warm water. And Mr. Washington carries this Snap Judgement episode, as all others, with the grace of skill afforded only to top-notch MCs. “The Badlands” episode is as powerful as the rest in Snap’s collection, (I highly recommend a binge; 3 episodes at a time makes any task seem like nuthin‘) but there’s a glimpse into the reporting in The Badlands episode that I’ve never heard before, let alone that the subject matter could fascinatingly magnify into a million-sub-stories. A thousand stars and hats off to Snap. For all the work and all the stories.
I enjoy this podcast- I LOVED Spooked, and wish they’d kept that one up. The only thing I can’t handle is one of the narrators has a voice like nails on a chalkboard. I know she can’t help it, but I can’t listen to those episodes. The rest are great!
I enjoy about 50% of the stories on here, but just listened to the Badlands episode about humanitarian missionaries in Iraq and the hosts commentary was absolutely infuriating “do you think they’re sincere?”. This was by far the most captivating and inspiring story I’ve heard yet on here, but the host, Glynn, is so obnoxious sometimes. These people have dedicated their lives to saving people and providing aide in combat zones. I always skip through his anecdotes in the beginning. The stories are good but the host is ridiculous
I love everything on this podcast but this story is incredible. So many different ways to live a life.
Love that every episode is about something different!! ❤️❤️
I couldn’t ask more of a podcast, hip hop beats, well spoken narrators, captivating stories and a podcast that is literally just as difficult to stop listening as a good Netflix show
The best show on NPR. I love hearing people’s stories, perspectives and insights. Snap’s global storytelling is the best.
Title says it all, wish there were more new episodes and the Spooked ones were my favorite :)
This is one of the top podcasts I listen to. The storytelling is top shelf and I love the way that Glynn participates without being overbearing. I highly recommend "Soundtrack of Silence" as the one listeners should hear to see if you like it. Warning: Poignant podcast alert.
The episodes don’t play
This show is what This American Life used to be: worth listening to.
Great show. Glynn Washington is God's gift to Earth.
The team dig up unusual and heartfelt stories that are unique and varied. This is one of my favorite podcasts (and I have at least a dozen that I listen to regularly). I am always blown away by the consistency of quality and research that goes into each of their stories. The story covering the deaths of Oakland residents rates as one of the best podcasts that I have ever heard. What an outstanding and heartbreaking piece of reporting to present to Snap Judgements audience. This particular story should be aired on 60 Minutes. I rate this story as well done as any that I have seen covered by their excellent presentations.
I do hope it can forge ahead through this current disjointed lull. I loved the early stuff—Super Heroes is my all time fav, and lord child Spooked is everything—but SJ is one note these days.
5 years of listening to this podcast, crowd-funding seasons, and receiving the gift of GREAT STORIES TOLD WELL. All I can say is : WE need this. Thank you for imparting the value of story - our human heritage. Much Love and Gratitude from our Home! - Chris in NC
A true leader in Storytelling Journalism, Glynn Washington lays it down hard in sharing stories that are Worthy of your time. Snap Judgment is a weekly podcast that I cannot miss. These stories gild my mind and heart.
I just got into podcasts last year due to “Wait Wait...Don’t Tell Me!” I listen to this every morning driving to work. Hands down the best stories I’ve ever heard. Please snappers, keep it coming!
Fantastic, every time. And if you have a chance to see Glynn and the team live, DO IT.
Best storytelling podcast/radio show there is.
Thank you for introducing me to Ear Hustle
Omg do I have to hear another story festering with how homophobic and racist the entire world is?! It was interesting in the past to hear real stories about life around our world that was diverse and new. The liberal agenda has taken over your program sir. Almost every episode is a view upon the plight of someone gay or black or better yet both! How about true diversity? Go into the heartland of this country and seek the stories that are there with no agenda. Better yet , search out people and stories that aren’t exactly like you.
Never listened before to this pod. Heard the prison story. Now hooked.
Just found Y’all’s podcast and soaked up the San Quentin visit! Thank you for shining the light on our humanity.
I never listened to or even understood people’s fascination with podcasts. I ended up listening to Snap Judgement in my car on my way to a meeting. I actually ended up being late because I didn’t hear the name of the show and wasn’t sure if could find it to hear the end (Iranian Jewish doctor performs secret abortions). I have since subscribed and donated. Snap Judgement has become an invaluable part of my weekly routine. I now listen to many other podcasts but sometimes they are just fillers until I get a new episode.
Fantastic stories. Love love love!
Glenn Washington is AWESOME. I love this show and often share it with people I know. They always thank me. I’m amazed by the diversity of topics and the story tellers who tell them. Story telling has been so vital to humanity...some of the stories are heartbreaking and others are hilarious. My soul is touched and my appreciation for the stories of others has really changed. I got a kick out of “Spooked”! I hope you keep doing it. It’s fun to get scared ( as long as you remember : “Snappers. NEVER....NEVER, NEVER EVER—turn out the lights!”
I really enjoy listening to this Podcast.
I can not stop listening!! Every story is different, educational, well produced and super entertaining.
I love the compelling storytelling and diverse content on Snap Judgment. Poetic and down to earth, warmly inviting and always well worth the listen. Thank you so much for inviting me in to be a Snapper!!
Tons of excellent past episodes. But there hasn’t been a great episode in a long time. Now the podcast is running shorter portions of the show which is also a step down.
When this podcast first came out it was the bees knees. I'm sad to say there's been a decline in quality since the Kickstarter campaign several years back. So many re-runs though that campaign seemed to inform otherwise. Such a bummer.
I discovered this show when a segment was borrowed/aired by This American Life. I caught up on numerous past episodes and started listening regularly. At times, it's as engaging and as engrossing TAL, even better, and the music and sound mixing surrounding each segment are always amazing. But then it veers into the occult, with earnestly told, idiotic stories about past lives, messages from beyond, and other topics worthy of the National Enquirer. I had hoped that the spin-off "Spooked" would mean that all the "psychic network" nonsense would become part of that podcast, but some of it is still showing up as part of the Snap Judgement feed. Finally, some of the show's favorite regular performers are not quite as brilliant, entertaining or insightful as Glynn Washington would have us believe. James Judd "the Closer"? Maybe for some. Don Reed is hit or miss, mostly the latter. I wish this show would stick to credible accounts of amazing things that really happened while avoiding both the supernatural and the cult of personality around certain performers. (Kudos again on the soundtrack.)
Snapper addict! Can’t get enough.
The only complaint I have is that I can’t get enough. If you guys would come out with daily podcasts I’d be a happy person. Your stories are filled with so much passion and it shows, keep it up!
These stories are always quirky and super interesting. Love this podcast!
This is top-notch podcasting and storytelling. Glynn's warm, humorous, caring presence permeates the show, the live episodes radiate vibrancy, the content is fascinating, the music supports it, the tone is compassionate, and the issues raised are current and alive. Thank you, Snap Judgment, for enriching my life.
...it would STILL seem like artificial intelligence compared to the heart & soul that Snap Judgement. Where Ira Glass & his impartial team of investigators feel like scientists sharing their research on American life through beautiful, painstakingly prepared slides, Glynn & his family of storytellers feel like America’s social service, hitting the streets and making home visits to REAL Americans in middle of REAL life, sometimes falling down in the process. Ira Glass’s clinical method of questioning & summarizing helps shine a harsh light of truth on the experiences & thoughts of others (and hopefully ourselves, if we dare to admit it). On the other hand, Glynn’s passion and sometimes open bias for/against the subjects makes us face that same harsh reality, allowing us the liberty of taking sides and jumping to conclusions before finding out how judgmental we really ARE at the end. So, don’t just listen to one episode, then retreat back to the safety of public radio’s constant drone of intellectual stimulation. Let the idea of being engaged in a story become your norm instead of your exception. Yes, the music is a little different and the voice of our narrator is a little deeper, but if you’re all about the wrapping and not the substance, then you’re probably not cut out for public radio podcasts, anyway! 😏
I can't stop listening! Amazing stories.
Love everything about this show!
Brilliant unique storytelling - with a beat! Don’t forget to subscribe to Heaven’s Gate.
I listen to a couple dozen podcasts regularly (I run a lot) and Snap Judgment is consistently one of the best. Fantastic stories wonderfully told.
Consistently entertaining. Glynn runs a tight ship with a beat
Snap judgement is one of the best storytelling podcasts out there. Reminds me of back in the day when we sat mesmerized around our radio listening intently to suspense or mystery or horror, those were the days when radio ruled! Snap judgement is so good that it often trumps Netflix for my choice of entertainment on the weekends, yes I said it😊
The host is intolerable. His way of speaking is very annoying to me. It detracts from the story. Over dramatic is an understatement. Please give this man a sedative!
Anna Stephanie Renzo Glen - master story tellers with a beat and all part of my circle
I’ve been listening to this show for years and can’t get enough of it! It’s hands down the best podcast available. Great work guys and keep them coming!
...can save your life
The little stories he usually shares at the beginning of episodes are the icing on this delicious story cake. Speaking of stories, they are excellent and beautifully edited. I espeically enjoy the Spooked episodes. Also, I just listened to the first episode of Heaven's Gate, and it is just as engrossing.
I became a "fellow snapper" after my first listen. The stories are filled with humor and warmth and never fail to make me laugh and think about the particular subject being reported on like I have neve done before.
I can’t wait until the podcast comes out every week. I love it!
Glynn Washington and his peeps know how draw out their subjects so well, and are always covering fascinating, unexpected stories. I am so excited to have discovered this great podcast, as it is my new favorite. If you enjoy hearing about the most interesting pieces of other peoples’ lives, this show is for you.
I don’t think there’s been an episode I didn’t like.
I love the stories on snap judgement, they're all so different and amazing regardless of the plot. I love that they have the people telling the stories themselves, it makes such a difference in the authenticity of what's being told, it's intriguing and grips you. And I love Glynn and the team, it's personal enough that you feel like you get to know little bits about his life as well. One of the best for sure❤️❤️❤️
For a long time now I've been trying to give this podcast the benefit of the doubt, but I'm done. Plenty of reputable podcasts only post once a month, that's nothing to be ashamed of. I feel that Snap Judgment is posting just to post and stay relevant. There's just one small problem with that, old news is not relevant. The curators of this podcast will post old episodes and frankly it is maddening. I don't waste money buying books I already own, and I won'tn waste more money by supporting something I've already heard. I was excited about the Spooked podcast, and the promise of new stories. I subscribe, download, and what do you know, some of the stories there are recycled from old snap episodes. Sure, there are a few new ones, but not enough to build a brand new podcast. I'm fed up, count me out.
It seems as if this podcast is dead. Every rating is from years ago and every new episode snap puts out I’ve already heard. It’s a really great show to listen to but don’t get too excited about hearing new stuff. They seem to have moved on from full time podcast creating.
No that I listen to podcasts very often, I realize the difference between really well made and mentally engaging or entertaining this is both, and of the best quality.
I’m in my car a lot, so it gives me time to listen to all of the episodes, old and new. Never been disappointed. Good job Glen.
I cannot understand why this podcast isn't in the top 50 right now. Glynn Washington is the man. The story tellers he brings on are incredible. The beats are dope as hell. I love spending my Fridays at the gym with snap. I'm proud to be a snapper. Listen to this!!!
Th best storytelling podcast out there.
I love storytelling and this podcast fits the bill! The range of topics is awesome and because of that, I’m a fan!
I look forward to a new ep every week and am transported with each story. Really well done show! I'm loving the Spooked show, as well. Keep doing what you're doing, Snap Team!
Not sure how I stumbled across this podcast, but I'm glad I did!! The stories are engaging and well-produced. I listen to these during my walks outside and literally laugh out loud many times, while expressing disbelief during others. I still have 40 more podcasts to listen to (yes, I went back and listened to all of the older ones), and I can't wait to be caught up.
It's refreshing to hear deep stories from all facets of our population. Although I've always loved "This American Life," Glynn Washington brings us a different angle that's equally entertaining and first-class.
I've forwarded more episodes to friends than any other program. Great stories
Glynn Washington is my favorite part of the show. His intros are compelling and imaginative. Thank you!
Lucky me that I’ve been living in a cave the last few years. I just discovered Snap Judgement and every day I feel so fortunate that I get to listen to one or TWO episodes. So well done, so well produced, perfectly researched and reported, AND great music! Love it.
The instincts and ear for stories that go beyond compelling to ESSENTIAL is extraordinary. The show helps raise the bar of audio storytelling and needed cultural conversations.
SJ has managed to stay fresh and entertaining for more than 8 years. At times, however, the episodes were rather... lackluster- to say the least. Besides that, it is an amazing podcast that deserves a chance to be heard. And remember, “This is as far away from the news as you could get.”
I love this podcast. The stories are amazing. Every episode has been interesting. Some have been astonishing. Well worth listening to, and donate to support them if you can!
Been a loyal fan for 6 years. Love these unique stories. They stay with you!
In our hurried life take out some time for this deeply emotional journey. It will make you a better person!
I'm missing you! The stories are powerful and the music is icing on the cake
Best podcast ever! I listen every week and can’t wait for the next one to come out! Glynn is an awesome narrator plus the beats give that extra spiciness. I would definently recomend to my friends.
Brilliant original storytelling with diverse voices and stories. Unparalleled.
Storytelling at its best and most unique. A solid favorite.
These stories are the best. Find out what it’s like to walk in someone else’s shoes in a brief moment of time.
Storytelling at it's best, on a variety of topics. Always entertaining and thought provoking.
Best podcast out there!
The best story telling podcast out there. Period.
Host needs to stop. Too much annoying! Stories are great!
Love the stories, love the music, love the host. Seriously this podcast has its own atmosphere, rhythm, and feel that puts me where no other can. Thank you so much for what you do to make it happen!
And with style to spare!
I first heard this show 4 or 5 years ago (before podcasts!?!?!) when I was driving one night along Route 80 in the Pocono Mountains. I was so frustrated when the radio reception kept cutting out because I was hooked immediately, especially when Glynn ended with, "This is not the news, no way is this the news. In fact, you could be... [launching into one of his classic descriptions of how far away from the news this show is]... but this is NPR (pre-WNYC days)." I have been an ardent listener ever since, especially since I can plug in wherever, whenever I want. This crew can weave a tale that's unique, heartfelt, engaging, poignant, funny, and sometimes enraging, all within a matter of minutes. I can be in tears or laughing out loud by myself on the middle of the grocery store. Don't miss it; you need this show in your ears right now!
If you like stories where you didn't expect the ending this is your podcast. Listen.
This podcast is always enthralling.
I love the show and Glynn Washington but it's super disappointing when I think there's a new episode and it's just repeated content. Also not sure what the point of having the spinoff Spooked podcast is if it's all just repeats as well.
I can't get enough I tell you! Such interesting content, flawless editing and a super cool host with his own intriguing tidbits to share. Snap relaxes me, I listen to it and other story telling podcasts almost every time I get in my car, and because of y'all I look forward to my commutes to and from work. Keep it up!!
I loved this podcast until I sent them my super heartfelt life story and the producer emailed me back and said If I get another story to "pitch" it to them.
Love it so much!
This is listening to people's lives like you wouldn't believe. Glynn Washington is one of a kind host and he can hook your brain to the words and his impressions are great. The music is hypnotic and chilling.
When Glen starts his podcast with a funny "religious fanatic household" story, I always want to know, "did that really happen to him?" I laugh at some stories, others have me Googling for more info, and I'm always on the lookout for the podcast coming to my area. Thanks for keeping me entertained!
I've been listening to this since the beginning and I'm very happy when it comes out on the air every weekend! It has many interesting topics and stories that follow a general theme. There is generally a left leaning perspective, but that's to be expected from NPR and WNYC. That said, I find it very entertaining and informative.
I truly enjoy all of their stories. Highly recommend it!
Probably my favorite podcast. The stories are always fascinating and I like Glenn's personally stories at the start.
I never miss an episode. Well produced, poignant, interesting, different. Love Snap!
So glad there are podcasts and performers out there who focus on the art of storytelling. Snap is a collection of experts on this topic.
Love the host, great production, great stories
This is, all in all, an outstanding podcast. The crew find amazing people and stories. Glynn Washington has done an amazing job of building the show, really amazing. The one significant drawback that becomes progressively harder to take are the introductory stories from the host's life. Eighteen months ago these were usually fresh and pertinent, but they're now thin on relevance and the delivery is often weak. He's an amazing guy with an incredible life story, but he is now hobbling a show that's outgrown its initial format. If the intros remain it will still be a great, four star podcast. If they go- even if it drops to a 30 min format- it will finally realize its five star potential. And people like me won't perpetually skip the intro and the advertisements, leading to more love from sponsors. All in all thanks for an outstanding show though, we're lucky to have the snap!
never ending goosebumps from these amazing stories
This show is always a welcome Friday treat. Great stories told in an engaging way. Why wouldn't you want to hear these stories.
Always excited when I see a new one drop. Glen does a fantastic job hosting. All of the members do great work and interviews. You won't be disappointed.
There are a lot of storytelling shows out there -- most focus on very personal stories that resonate on an emotional level. While Snap Judgment also has these, they focus on stories that are relevant to events unfolding on the world stage. They have amazing access to people in high places, like ex-spies and former cult leaders.
Some of the best stories on air, from one of the best hosts
I've been listening to this podcast for years. I love it - the storytelling, the beats, the fresh takes on things. One of my favorites!
I always look forward to the new Snap Judgment episodes. Really fascinating stories, nice sound design and editing, high production quality. I quickly became very fond of Glynn Washington! His on-theme intro stories are fun and do a great job setting the scene for the episode. And even before he confirmed it by mentioning it in an episode (which I realized he does occasionally after I became a regular listener) I just KNEW he was one of "us"--a true Midwesterner! The "SnYEAp" Judgment gave it away :)
Great episodes, great host, great beats
Long time fan. 5stars for years. Lately - 1star. I hate the new format of how they are narrating differently. The stories are lacking adventure and drama. Please go back!! :( :( This show was great.
I was having a rough day, then I remembered there was a new Snap Judgment out and smiled wide. It was as if the clouds parted and the sun shone because I knew that Glynn Washington and the SJ team were about to take me on a worthy journey.
Love this podcast and I love Glen. I cannot recommend this podcast enough.
Incredible story telling, can't get enough!
Story is everything and this podcast has them. Big stories, little stories, tear-jerkers, mind-benders, inter-genders, head-scratchers- all the stories! Listen, soak it in, and be edified.
A listener for years, I tune in from Beijing, China to hear all of the great stories. Keep up the good work, Snap Judgement team!
I'm a podcast connoisseur and this one is a favorite. Never boring, ALWAYS well told stories, excellently produced. Ya laugh, ya cry. Ya be thinkin about it way it effects you after the fact. If I ever can afford to contribute to public radio, Glen Washington will be the first to know.
I love love love this podcast. All the stories have depth, warmth and humor v
I have never written a review for a podcast before, so I thought it was necessary that Snap Judgement be my first. I have been listening to Snap Judgement for years and every single episode make me fall more and more in love with the program. The story telling in this podcast is unsurpassable and the hosting/production goes beyond expectations. If you are looking for personal stories that will send you on an emotional roller coasters while challenging your own perspective, this is the right podcast for you. Thank you Snap Judgment, I absolutely love your team.
Snap is entertaining, fresh, weird a must on the subscribe to list!
Thanks to all at Snap. You bring voices to so many through your work. What separates you from other story tellers is the breadth and width of the subject matter...and the crisp beats. Best, 415 Oakland
Just listened to the bad medicine episode!! Great job as always Snap. You guys are amazing, love the show!!!
Well produced show that will make you laugh, cry, and experience first hand accounts of heart wrenching stories. Highly recommend to any type of listener!
Great stories that really change my views and ideas about the world... I live Glenn Washington's voice! It is so soothing!
I absolutely love this! Can't wait for my weekly snap ep
The stories are so interesting. You never know what the story is.
This is the show that got me hooked on Podcasts. Smart and engaging. I love it.
I'm really enjoying this podcast...and it is awesome to hear the host speak of places I'm familiar with. Keep up the great work
This show has some of the best episodes. Things that have really stuck with me over the years.
I love this podcast. Thank you! Please please PLEASE keep up the great work.
They used to have fresh content and great stories. Now they release new episodes with old content. Still great stories but I regret supporting them financially. If I wanted to listen to old episodes I would listen to all the episodes. Get with it Glenn! UPDATE: Another rerun... unsubscribing...
Stories that will move and inspire you.
This is a great show: the introductions (that give us a glimpse of a truly strange religious upbringing, but also of some rollicking adventures) to the story content to the musical accompaniment. I see why other podcasts now seek to emulate SJ's style. Listen to this podcast.
Dude has a Natural Born Story Telling Voice and Does a Great Job Picking the Topics to Talk about.
This is my favorite podcast of all podcasts. This podcast honestly makes me a better person. Listen, listen, listen.
I love this podcast soooo much. Great guests and the hosts knows how to tell a story so well I can see it through his eyes. I wish it were a daily show. Love the music and sound effects.
story telling with a beat : this podcast is an inimitable source of chill and wow.
This is the first podast I recommend to people. It is the best of storytelling- real, compelling, and well crafted stories.
The stories on Snap Judgement keep the connection to my humanity alive. Thought provoking, relevant and disarming at the same time. Love this podcast.
Absolutely incredible. The stories. The production. Everything.
I was dismayed by the last podcast to see snap glamorizing the struggle of the wife of a convicted Palestinian terrorist to have a baby with her imprisoned husband.
I came across this podcast on fb. I listened to Don Reed's story. I felt the happiness, the confused state and the pain in his story as he told it. This is the best podcast I have come across!!!! Keep telling the stories that need to be told and shared.
These stories are amazing and perfectly told. I especially love Glynn's stories about growing up in Michigan-they remind me of growing up in Michigan and they make me smile.
This is my go to podcast! Different stores every week...it never gets old!
This is one of the best podcasts. I used to be a fan of This American Life but the storytelling got formulaic and overly political. This is the good stuff. I find the beginning bits by the host can be hit or miss but everything else is usually golden. I can't believe this podcast isn't in the top 10. It is really a gem.
I laugh, I cry, I think... such a good podcast! I love Glenn Washington he is an amazing person!
I used to be a fan and enjoyed the show, even thought I fast-forwarded through Glynn's long and boring intros. But now it's become political. The host can't get past the election and everything is about racism and white privilege. Whatever, Glynn.... you're so upset about racism, but you and your storytellers have no problem bashing on "whitey." You're a hypocrite and I've had enough. This "cracker" is unsubscribing.
I wish I could give this podcast a big hug. The stories all make me feel like I've just given my soul a bath, or if the story is one of the darker ones, then it would be a cold shower. Cold showers are useful too!
Everyone and their mama has a podcast but Glenn and the Snap squad are the best in the biz. You'll laugh and probably cry because the narration + music is so good. The Spooked Halloween episodes are legit scary.
Like TAL but with some spice. The stories are so human -- sometimes weird, sad, interesting, endearing and always so beautiful. Love their mission. The stories and perspectives they share need to be heard! Also, Glynn is my favorite host. Love that he begins most episodes with a personal story -- I'm always amazed at his story-telling ability and how he can connect with each show's topic.
Snap Judgement takes storytelling to the next level. Each story is thouroughly vetted, thought out, and expertly crafted - even if the person telling it isn't a master story teller. I was so hooked when I found it, I even went alllll the way back to season 2! Can't get enough.
Literally the worst.
I am very proud to be this show's 2,001st five-star rating, as it was a primary reason I became an audio producer a couple years ago to start my own podcast. Snap Judgement's stories are deeply, profoundly effective. There has not been a podcast that has brought me more laughter, tears, anger, or inspiration. The music scoring behind these incredible stories gives it a thumping hearbeat that will have you shadow-boxing at work after a good beat drop. Incredible production, beautiful vision, and simply unmmatched raw storytelling. Not to mention one of the most epic live performances that you might ever see. Thank you Snap for opening producers like me up to the world of great storytelling. Much love - The Hungry podcast.
I love the show, love the host, love the style, (only like the live stories. Some reviewers don't like the host adding his personal stories in, but I would like to hear more from him. I don't agree with some of the politics and views in the stories, but I am an "agree to disagree" kind of person, so I can enjoy the story regardless. However sometimes the callus and flip experiences hurt. I've not had an abortion, but have had friends who have, and seen what it can do to a person, and a relationship. My heart breaks any time someone proudly or flippently shares an abortion story. That aside, I have enjoied pretty much every other story I have listened to. Thanks for sharing!
Love the humor, indepth story telling and insights....so good. TY!
Snap is what's up. The stories are selected and produced by the staff with such care, it isn't just the storyteller who takes you to that moment shared. The trophy case of podcasts.
Glynn is brilliant. I love the way he gives us glimpses of his life and how he's become the person he is. He's a great storyteller.
I highly recommend listening. It's story telling at its finest.
Consistently impressed, always awesome. I laugh, cry, and love these characters, you will too. Interesting and fun editing, excellent production, score and sound design... All around great show. Hope you enjoy also.
Snap Judgment has it all. Great stories, diversity, laughter, drama, and overall fabulous entertainment. Even with an Ipod full of podcasts, this is what I reach for 1st.
incredibly well-produced...love the range of topics.
I'm having a hard time trying to think of an episode that I didn't enjoy. This podcase is packed with fascinating stories, skillfully told. This one is top tier.
100% the best most versatile podcast out there right now. They present such diverse stories sometimes relatable, sometimes unbelievably wonderful! Highly Recommended!!
Snap Judgment played on my local NPR station on Saturday at 2pm. I was also excited to find myself in the car at this time. When I realized it was available as a podcast, Snap Judgement became my very first downloaded podcast. After getting through the available episodes, I now wait on my weekly dose! Most memorable episode - Spooked VI. I was really spooked; so much I am not sure if I finished it. I not sure what I would do without my story telling podcasts. Snap started it all for me!
Snap is simply amazing. It's always something new with an interesting prospective. More often then not, I get tears from these stories. They are extremely moving. I look forward to each episode!
Great storytelling. Its the first podcast I go to.
Used to be a huge fan. Listened every week for years. Helped get me through nursing school. Then Glen got political. Sad.
Glen Washington does an amazing job and deserves a ton of recognition for bringing inspiring, original and intriguing people together for an amazing podcast. It's one of those that you'll find yourself talking about in conversations and thinking about long after. Keep it up Glen!
Snap Judgement makes my evenings better. Truly amazing stories.
Glen Washington has an incredible ear for great storytelling. I almost always enjoy every one of his guests. The recorded shows are better than the live ones, which vascillate so much in volume that I am constantly adjusting it. Reviewer ozerchenma puts it better than I can on Mar 17, 2017 but the point is Ive learned to skip past the first 5-10 min so I don't have to listen to the story that Glen tells each week to start the show. Even when the content is good, his expressions of emotion and, almost any kind of reaction, is physically painful to my ears because his voice tends to go high, squeeky and way too loud. His characters are stereotypes and they don't ring true. In fact, I'm pretty sure there is a story about him being raised Baptist and another about him raised as a Johovah's Witness. His storytelling style is just BAD. Finally, I've been listening since 2010 and, I listen to dozens of podcasts, including other highly successful ones with plenty of advertisements (e.g., This American Life) but this one has a stifling number of ads. I'd estimate that 25% of any episode from the past year or 2 is advertisements--either for sponsors or direct requests for money or for other podcasts. It's become too much work to enjoy this show because I am constantly forwarding through the first story, the ads, exceedingly loud sections...
Snap truly has a way of layering stories, music, sounds, people, all together in a wonderful episode. The range of emotions and variety of stories always keeps me tuning in for more.
The Snap is my joint, since way back. Excellent program. Be sure to catch a live show if you ever have the opportunity.
Real people, real stories, real drama, and really enjoyable. Snap Judgement is in no way the news, and that's what makes it that much better. Oh and Glynn Washington is the man
Well produced stories by professional story tellers. Are they true? Ghost stories, family tales, humorous stories, adventures
Look forward to a new episode every week. Exciting and fresh to hear this incredible stories and Glen it awesome! Keep up with great work.
This is so easy to get wrapped up in. Every episode is so varied. Never gets boring. Always very current topics. Sometimes a bonus of social commentary.
Another good podcast from NPR but why must you pitch shift the voice of the narrator. This is not edgy, it is simply an unwelcome distraction from from the otherwise excellent information.
I never leave an episode empty. I love the host, love the stories, and most producers are good.
Great storytelling led by the awesome voice of Glynn Washington. Thanks for all your hard work!
This podcast reaches a new height in story telling. Raw, evocative and the music seems to disappear with the words. So well crafted and hang on to your earbuds worth listening. I've gone back and listened to every episode. What a treasure trove of fun. Additionally, if you get Snap Live to come to your city? GO!!! One of the best shows I've seen in a long time.
I NEED MORE SNAP JUDGMENT! Seriously, Glen, keep them coming! Great great podcast!
Invaluable source to worlds I never knew to exist. Mind blowing
Always fresh, always interesting, always relevant. Keep up the good work! You help me through my workday.
I love Washington's editing style - sound-heavy, creatively cut, carefully designed - but I'm not a fan of his personal storytelling style. I don't like the syrupy half-child tone he puts on when talking about his early memories, and I often find the protagonist of his adult memories pretty unpleasant. (Also, I don't tend to enjoy single-narrator storytelling podcasts like The Moth.) Unfortunately, every single episode starts with a chapter from Washington's memoirs, tangentially connected to the theme of the episode. I know it's the show's signature, and it's easy enough to skip past it, but those intros are still the reason this otherwise out-of-the-park fantastic podcast isn't one of my top favorites.
I was browsing the top of the charts for new podcasts and noticed this wasn't even in the top 100. I'd say I listen to about 4+ hours of podcasts a week and this is one of the few shows that I subscribe to. It has its own identity compared to a TAL or Radiolab because Glenn Washington is great. It also provides compelling stories without being over the top or annoying like some other podcasts.
Snap is amazing!! The stories are so compelling and the sound design makes it vivid with color!!
I have been listening to this podcast for the past few years. I love it! The stories are fantastic and Glenn is hilarious. Plus the music is always on point. Give it s try you won't be disappointed!
These stories cause me to feel sadness and joy, pessimism and hope. I feel alive!
Listen al the time great stories. Love the live shows
I've been listening to this podcast for a while now and notice most of the stories are rehashed or repeated. I love the host and the voices of the presenters but I'm bored now of the repeats.
I love this podcast. So many awesome stories and I love Glenn Washington, but lately I've been very disappointed by all the reruns.
All around 10+ on production value and original content. I can and do listen all day every day while I'm at work. No podcast can touch the quickness and efficiency at which they release new episodes. Insane team of sound engineers and story tellers. Please never stop! Long live the snap.
Snap Judgment is my favorite podcast/radio show. Hands down. Every week Glynn and his crew showcase incredible stories with fantastic sound design, making every episode unique and entertaining. Glynn is an incredible host – he's had an incredibly interesting life and his stories add to each episode. It's more engaging than its most famous cousin in the podcasting world, This American Life. Even when the occasional story falls flat, it's still presented in a great way. I highly, highly recommend this show to everyone.
Yeah.. If Jazz did the news..
Stories that entertaining you, engage you, make you think and even touch your heart. As an avid listener of business and technology podcasts, this was a really wonderful find and is my new favorite podcast.
I used to listen passively but this last year I started downloading the podcast and I love the stories and is awaken the storyteller inside of me. Keep in keeping on, you are doing something great!
Been listening for years. Love the host. Love the stories. Look forward to it every week. VERY rarely am I bored with a story. Excellent podcast!
This is the reason I listen to podcasts. Always interesting
The team finds such interesting stories from all sorts of people. I'm so drawn in. I commute a lot, and before I dread the drive I remember that I have an awesome podcast playlist. This is definitely one of my favorites. When people ask me which podcasts I listen to, I say "Snap Judgment" first.
Witty, funny, serious, and provocative all while overlaid with a beat. Stories that bring you in and make you think and understand.
Always enjoy a good storytelling podcast and the variety is incredible. Some are scary some are funny some and heartbreaking and others enlightening. I love adding this in my podcast rotation.
So well produced. Love the stories and the host. I could (and do) listen to it all day.
This podcast is a journey. Enjoy the ride.
Each episode is put together so well. I love how the stories are told.
There's no other podcast that delivers stories like this. You'll laugh, cry, take an introspective look, and get fired up. Listen to your heart's content. I've heard them all and anxiously await each week.
Search no more because this is where it's at!
Snap is the bomb diggety of all them podcasts out there. For real though, to get truly educated about being human in this strange world… this is a great way to go.
Fun + upbeat even when the stories aren't happy one. Never miss it
when are they going to have new stories
I love this show and the stories that are shared. I've been listening for a couple of years now and it's been a great podcast to keep on my list.
The podcast is like THIS AMERICAN LIFE - a fine meal for sure, but cooked up by someone who isn’t afraid of floorers and spice. :) A saucy and entertaining podcast that is always engaging and interesting.
This podcast is a true storytelling creative gem!
There are episodes that I'm totally gripped with and then there are episodes that are overwrought and heavy handed. Still worth your time.
I think I've listened to every episode by now and I wish there were more. I love hearing little snapshots from people's lives; you never know what you're going to get in each story, but that's the beauty of it. If you love a good story time, you'll enjoy this podcast.
I thought I was alone on my opinion towards Washington. Thanks Vanilla tea, I couldn't have put it better. I love this podcast; There is very interesting stories here and I would give it a four or five star review if it wasn't for the host. He always has a sotry of his own at first that he tries to make interesting by over dramatizing it. You don't need to tell a story of your own every time. Stop trying to make it about you. Maybe if you only hear one or two you won't mind but after awhile it tends to get old. Recommend forwarding the first 5 minutes. That's what I do. Just to get his story out of the way (trust me, you are not missing much) and get to the good stuff.
Hey snap I've been listening to your show for years and would love to help support your work. I also love t shirts... I feel like we could put these things together and do something great! Tshirt fundraiser?! You make it I'll buy it and I'm sure I'm not the only one. You have a lot of talented people on the show I bet one of them could come up with a cool T.
I love walking and listening to many unique, intriguing stories from many different people and personalities.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PODCAST
I use to love this podcast. But the recent year it feels like the stories have become bland. Hit or miss Update it's gotten worse. I tried to like it again. Maybe they need to find new material
I've listened for years. Ive loved almost all the stories. However the whole gay trans spin that seems to be so important in every show makes me lose interest. I know it's super cool to be hated and oppressed by the man but there are actually other great stories out there.
Love this podcast. Look forward to each episode!
Every episode is incredible.
This podcast is amazing.
Other podcasts come and go but SJ always stays.
I listen to a lot of podcasts and this one is one of my very favorites. I can't wait each week for the new episode to drop. Five stars plus!!!!
I really appreciate the hosts perspective, and he does a great job of integrating his personal stories into the show without being self centered. The themes of the stories span the board; whether emotional, hilarious or educational- they're almost always thoroughly engaging.
After listening to the host Glynn on Adam Carrollas podcast talking about white privilege and how is afraid for his life now that trump is the president I can no longer listen to his show.
This is one of my favorite podcasts. The stories are always compelling and fascinating and keep me entertained and awake on long car drives. Similar to The Moth and TAL but better, in my opinion.
This podcast is wonderful. They tell stories wonderfully; and I hope they stay around for many years.
I laugh out loud on planes. I once broke down crying by the side of the road on my daily jog. This show is completely amazing, masterful, beautiful. But take care if listening while in public.
The best way to listen to great, life adventure stories
Snap Judgement and This American Life are my go-to podcasts and have been for a few years. When I first heard it, I was very skeptical because it started out with a studio story but once I started hearing the real interviews, I was hooked. I absolutely love everything about this show. The stories, the production, the way shows are edited. You can get lost in this show while driving or doing chores and the next thing you know, you're done. And you were entertained and learned something at the same time!! Amazing.
I enjoyed this podcast till recently. With the last two podcast and the comments of the host i have realized that this podcast is not for me. With his comments about the recent election I have determined that the ideology of the host is no longer in line with me. Just tell stories, without pushing and ideology or a political agenda.
I listen to at least a dozen podcasts, Snap Judgement is absolutely my favorite! The mix of voices, personalities, fiction, true stories and music is exceptional! Great job Glenn & the whole Snap Judgement crew!
Glen Washington and crew can take you away from whatever is bothering you, at least for a while.
I just started listening to Snap Judgement and I cole it. The stories and music fit well together.
Please keep creating content! I'm highly addicted to this station. I love the many stories and experiences people share. When will SJ start selling Tee Shirts? Lastly, can your put Columbus, OH aka Battleground State/Blue County on your list for a tour stop???
This used to be a great podcast when I first discovered it a year ago. But since subscribing, it's been practically nothing but rebroadcast after rebroadcast. Sure that's fine from time to time. The frustrating part is the fact it's not announced or acknowledged like other podcasts. I've listened to several episodes' intro at least 3x because I didn't realize it was a repost. Get your stuff together and tell us when it's a rebroadcast. I don't like wasting time listening to the same thing.
The Colin Kapernick of podcasting. Apparently the white people who voted Barack Obama into office are now racist if they voted for Trump. It's not enough that people were sick and tired of democratic policies and had no desire to continue them under the corrupt, primary rigging Hillary Clinton and the DNC, we are just racist. White privilege is reverse racism. Glen lives in the world of the "alt-left".
I unsubscribed after hearing Glynn whining and crying about Trump being elected. I didn't vote for Trump. But listening to Glynn act like Trump was coming to knock on his door tomorrow and arrest him for being black was ridiculous. And to go on Adam Carrolla's podcast and tell him he made it through white privilege is a joke.
Just heard Glen on Adam Carolla show. After repeated stating that all white people are under the umbrella of white privilege I couldn't take it anymore. He's out of his mind and I feel sorry for him.
Let Washington butter you up with his smooth voice, and you'll be ready to listen to anything. Thankfully, what follows is always stellar storytelling with an edge. Consistently worth listening to.
This is my favorite podcast, really like the host and the flow of the show, always interesting stories
I wish i can hear it more often. There is nothing like this on podcast. Simply fun and amazing. First i heard it on radio and became obsessed with it. Finally found it on podcast couldn't stop listening. Finished listening all of it now im waiting.
I've been listening to Snap Judgement since it first aired and it's definitely in my top 5 podcasts (and I listen to a lot of podcasts). Great stories and well-produced. My only real complaint are the incessent reruns in the podcast feed. Sifting through the feed to find a new episode is really annoying, especially because you already have access to the enitre archive on iTunes so if you really want to listen to an old episode you can go back and do so of your own volition without having it shoved in your face. Also - is every "snap special" episode just a rerun of a story from an earlier episode? Because at this point I expect it to be.
I am not going to put a lot of eloquence into this review, only to say that it defies my imagination that Glynn & Co. are able to sustain such fascinating and exceptional stories from week to week. I cannot wait to receive each new episode. For what it is worth, Snap has had a profound impact on me as a preacher, though it is worth it to listen not matter what your vocation or particular creed happen to be. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
This is my favorite episode! Scary stories narrated by glen.
Too much host, not enough hosting.
I'm always listening to podcasts! When people ask what I recommend, I describe several of my favorites. When I get to Snap Judgment though, I say this is what they need to listen to if they just picked one.
I look forward to this show every Friday! It's one of my top 5 favorite podcast ever ! Best stories!
Legit my fave podcast on the interweb! So powerful!
That is all. If you don't like Snap Judgement, there is something actually wrong with you! The variety of content, the editing, Glynn's incredible storytelling and hosting that ropes you in everything -- I love Snap Judgement! (and super excited for the next "Haunted" episode!)
Listening to this podcast always puts me in a great mood. Love it!
I really like most of the stories but I do think the zaniness of the hosting and sound effects is a bit much. It wouldn't be Snap Judgement without it though!
I used to listen to this station every day leading up to my maternity leave. The host is amazing, the stories leave you wanting more, the interviews are tantalizing, I could go on and on... Now that I'm back to work, I'm so looking forward to listening to all of the episodes that I've missed! Thank you for producing such a high quality podcast.
One of the most consistently compelling podcasts I've heard. Always moving!!
one of the best storytelling programs, creative host, great team!
This podcast is amazing you should definitely listen to it!
I'm writing this review because I feel so guilty I can enjoy this amazing podcast for free, so I want to support it anyway I can. This podcast is so good, I never miss an episode. The perfect blend of heart-wrenching without being exploitative, humorous without being over-the-top, and incredibly humane. They somehow find the most compelling stories from fascinating people, and their production and story-telling ability is so expert. If you like good story telling you should absolutely subscribe.
I never miss an episode or a fundraiser. Some of the best radio out there. Amazing stories. Diverse voices. Make sure your speakers/earbuds can handle the beats!
Yes. I'm super hooked! Its super :) Keep up the good work Mr. Washinton!
I can't take this show any more. The host, Glynn Washington is a little too comfortable with racism. This show tackles a lot on the subject, and it covers it well, then the host will start talking about "whitey" There are too many good podcasts out there so I see no need to tolerate a hypocrite who offensively cashes in on shock to try to sound relevant. Try harder or fade away.
This is a wonderfully produced show that is filled with incredible stories!
This show is phenomenal! I recommend it to everyone I meet. Love the show! Thanks for making me laugh, cry, think and love humanity a little more. The only criticism I have is that the live show never comes to Florida. Glenn and crew: please come here!!
I'd say 8 out of 10 episodes are fantastic.
This is one of my favorite shows!
Story telling with a beat! Great stuff!
Love this! Been my fav for a long time. Love being a Snapper!
Beyond amazing! I get into these stories on an emotional level. Pure connection. I love this program!
I love this podcast and listen to it regularly while I work. But this latest episode - Weight of the World - the very end gets cut off. Is it just me? What happened?
I used to love this podcast, but they are uploading TOO many old episodes and calling them "new". It's unfair as a listener.. having to wait a week, just to hear an episode that has already been aired before. Unsubscribing until actual "new" episodes are being released
The most enthralling podcast EVER. They should be in the top 10, not just the top 100. You'll not want to miss this.
Love snap judgement - listen to it while I'm in my office and I laugh, cry, gasp...good thing I work from home!
I'm a long time listener and I love the show but there are so many reuploaded episodes that I've already heard
Love listening. Can't wait till Saturday rolls around to hear the new episode.
I shake in my seat until Thursday nights! Thank you snap for bringing me the joy of storytelling at its core. I'm a proud supporter of the snap nation. Can't wait until your next episode.
What a wonderful podcast…every story is so well-done, I look forward to every episode. Keep up the good work, guys!!
The best Podcast on my line-up. Wish there were more!!!
Wonderful storytelling for a fast paced world. Very special
Snap is the podcast I bump ahead of all other podcasts when a new episode airs. It will make you laugh and cry and think. Highly recommend!
Variety of amazing topics so well told.
I first heard this show on a rare Friday afternoon off and couldn't remember the name of the show. It is very ware that I was listening to the radio and cried. This is top notch storytelling. Luv the show keep up the good work
Love this- the diversity of stories within the same program is fantastic. Pleasantly surprised and devoted!
This show is unique, well done, unapologetically urban without being inaccessible to those who've never seen a city street or a human with a story to tell. At its core this show is about human stories and the judgements we make... Often times without thinking first. Hence; snap. Get into it because after all, it's not the news. No way is it the news.
Great stories and music
Seriously the best podcast out thereeeee~ never go away, please!
Used to enjoy this. Was a fan even. Right after the fund raiser the show got racial then (at times) racist. Unsubscribing as a result.
It keeps you engaged from start to finish. I learn something and feel good sharing it with others. Definitely a favorite of mine.
I love snap so very much. I have gotten through many a traffic jam and many a boring work day with these stories. Keep it up, I love you all!!
Here is a podcast to remind you that people are not always what they seem. The storytelling is A-MAZ-ING!!! If you only have time for one podcast...this is the one. Especially if you like challenging your preconceptions.
I've been listening to this show since around 2010 and I love it. I don't like, though, that they've been adding more scripted stuff. It's okay enough, but it takes away from the show's authenticity and individuality. It's still great, though.
fascinating stories artfully woven together. It's delicious, entertaining and inspiring.
Not a dull moment.
Snap Judgment was the first podcast I every listened to and I'm hooked. Some of the best story teller I've ever heard like Josh Healey, James Judd, Don Reed et al. Frequent the cast and they always make it worth my time. I recommend listening to the Live shows especially Live in LA. If you don't like that ep. You don't like ice cream.
This show is really interesting and holds my attention but OMG is the host annoying. Why do you talk like that?
The student and the teacher has been one of the best episode till date
So many amazing stories with heart and care put into them. These guys do amazing work! Love it! Keep it up!
The best podcast with moving stories that make me laugh, cry and think!
Snap Judgement is one of the best "story" type podcasts out there. I download about a dozen or so podcasts and I always wait for this one with great anticipation and excitement. Nearly all of the stories are unique, meaning I haven't heard some version of the story on a different podcast. Even the rare times when the story is one I have heard, Glen Washington and the Snap Judgement crew always give me more backstory and I never feel like I am just listening to a rehash. The music is kickin’ and the types of stories I hear on this podcast are everything from roll-on-the-floor funny to cry-your-eyes-sad. Snap Judgement is an emotional carnival ride with music that enhances each story and keeps you coming back for more. With so many great podcasts out there it is hard to contribute to them all, but this one is so good I am happy to contribute a few bucks monthly to keep it on the air.
Snap Judgement has stories you can't hear anywhere else and they manage to grab you with every one so its really quite disappointing when Snap reuses episodes and doesn't clarify this in the synopsis of the ep. Really hate getting excited about a great story only to realize I've already heard it.
I always look forward to new episodes.
This is the #1 best storytelling I have ever heard! I saw the show in Oakland live and was hooked. There are no episodes that aren’t great. Every one I’ve heard is excellent, riveting, emotional and memorable. More more more!!!
I really like this podcast but I gotta admit that I skip past the first few minutes. It could be shorter and better if it just dive right into it
I travel more than often and listen to about 15 podcasts and this is by far my favorite podcast! This podcast is the one that started me to seriously listening to them. It has been my companion around the world and I am saddened every time that I catch up on my episodes. If you are new to it, you are so lucky. It is entertaining, but not just entertainment, like "To Kill A Mocking Bird" is not just a movie. These episodes will enlighten, inspire, engage, enrage, and of course entertain you. I have started my peers to listening to podcasts by letting them listen to this one on trips. Yes, I said it. It is a gateway podcast! Even my wife likes it and is categorically opposed to podcasts. She found it very slick, well put together, and noticeably hip, particularly for a podcast. The host a great voice and delivery and doesn't talk too much on the lead in like some podcasts of a similar format. He is very likable and has a great spence of humor and timing. Ok, this is far more than I had planned to write, but I could go on. This is a top shelf podcast and I look forward to absolutely EVERY episode!
I gave up my satellite radio to support this program - Snap Judgment is that good! I have laughed. I have cried. I have cheered and screamed out loud - and I don't care what the people in traffic next to me think. Regardless of my emotional response, every single podcast has been wonderfully entertaining. I have a 65-90 mile commute each way (depending on the job that day) and I drive through several mountain ranges so I need something good to listen to. If you are on fence about this podcast, get off of the fence and subscribe. This is one that you should never miss!
I really like this. The stories are phenomenal. But the weird "little" voices that narrate take me out of it.
Absolutely wonderful podcast. Thank you for producing such lovely art.
This is the best storytelling anywhere.
This is one of my go-to storytelling podcasts. Really wonderful, diverse stories flawlessly produced. I have a hard time with Glynn sometimes. He's a good storyteller, but every episode, he comes up with a personal story and some of them seem like pure fabrications. It's an insult to the intelligence of the listener. I'd like it better if he just hosted and sometimes busted out with a true story, relevant to the theme. There seem to be a lot of repeats and I don't love the fiction stories that are acted out (although, I did enjoy one I heard today). Overall, well worth your time and a gift to humankind.
More! All I can say, this is lively entertaining storytelling at its finest. Keep it coming!
I couldn't live without it. I have binge listened to them all. Love this show.
Sorry Glen, I'd support you but I'm exhausted by your anti-police bs and your constant racism. Good luck fundraising.
Glen is so awesome, the stories are fantastic, and I love the music.
Love listening to the stories.
Snap is sooo underrated. It should be at the top of the charts....how is it #90?? One of the best out there. They do everything right - Stories, Editing, Music, Host. I want to see this next to TAL at the top.
This show makes my life better. It's phenomenally well done.
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to discover Snap. It feels like something I’ve been searching for all my life. Amazing storytelling. I get a tummy flutter of joy every time I see a new episode pop up in my feed.
Y'all consistently deliver quality radio. Thank you.
Hands down, one of the best podcasts! I recommend listening while driving to work, taking a road trip, sitting in traffic or just sitting on ur porch OR (maybe in ur house) on a nice sunny, rainy, cloudy day and enjoying stories from all different "walks of life"!
But too many commercials
Story telling with a beat, the best!
Talk about fresh... This is it ... Awesome
The Snap Judgement crew has put together shows that have made me cried, laughed, scared, full of suspense, reflective, and so much more. I'm truly grateful for a show that cares so much about the human condition and the stories that we have to share. Keep up the good work, Snap. You're awesome!
