A good podcast is slowly becoming to political which ruins the escape from everyday stuff
Yikes, listen to the starting zone or titanforge podcast. This is 3 people that don’t play the game and shed light on forum posts that tiny amounts of people whine about non stop making the show demoralizing to listen to. If you enjoy the game and are looking for a listen to get excited about playing, this is not for you.
I’ve been a listener since cataclysm and I genuinely love this show. I love Scott, Patrick, and Garrett and the dynamics between them. I just don’t enjoy how the podcast turns political from time to time, and how they are unapologetic fanboys. Sometimes their love for the Blizzard company can cloud objective commentary on the games. They never claim to be objective so maybe it’s an unfair criticism but their handling of Dills and Turp was disappointing. I wish they would stick to the games and leave the drama and the real world stressors I am trying to escape during the episode at the door. I love you guys! Keep up the good work.
I used to be a regular listener years ago. I thought I’d check it out again. These guys don’t even sound like they like playing the games they are talking about and they definitely don’t even sound like they like each other. There’s constant sniping and picking at each other about their play styles or if someone makes a little mistake in their comment. Two out of three hosts sound like grumpy old elitist players that spit out “back in my day” references all the time.
I’ve been listening to this podcast since the WotLK days and haven’t stopped. It’s a must for WoW
I love The Instance. I’ve been listening to the show for many years at this point, it’s one of the first podcasts I ever listened to and it’s still one of my favorites. If you want a super hardcore, in depth look at the game, this may not be what you’re looking for. However, if you want a positive, upbeat and humorous podcast about World of Warcraft that’s akin to listening to some good friends discuss a favorite topic, this one’s it! They always discuss any new news and content updates from the point of view of an average player. They also cover other Blizzard games which I enjoy as it’s how I stay in the loop with those. The hosts of The Instance have had to deal with more than their fare share of controversies over the past year and I think they have managed to do so with humility and grace. When they have made missteps, they have admitted it, apologized and vowed to do better. I look forward to listening to Scott, Garrett and Patrick each week, and If you love WoW I think you will too!
I’ve listened to this show for close to 10 years. But not long ago they fired their best co-host who had been there for as long as I’ve listened. And the show just isn’t fun now. Worst, they fired him, supposedly a friend, for something that has nothing whatsoever to do with the show. That kind of disloyalty is crazy. It was simply for woke progressive cred. Now they do this careful dance to protect Blizzard when they sided with communist China against human rights and Hong Kong after the hearthstone championship incident. Carefully excusing blizzard while saying it’s complicated, yadayada. But it’s not complicated. It’s so simple who the good guys and bad guys are, and murderers China is not the good guy. It’s transparent t he way they did it too. They’ve always had a liberal bias but politics was not always in the front of the show. But now it’s social justice virtue signaling and yet defending corporatist Blizzard when they side with communists. (Leftists). It’s just not fun to listen now. Hard to separate the show from the people producing it and how they treat their friends and their truly radical politics. Shameful.
Hadn’t tuned into this podcast for many years. Listened today to get the opinion about the China controversy. Disappointed to hear hosts talk out of both sides of their mouth. “What are you gonna do?” Is a completely cowardly response. Stand up for what’s right, that’s what you do.
I can’t do it anymore. Garret and Patrick come with well thought out opinions/ speculation/ jokes. I can’t listen to Scott’s nonsense anymore. I don’t need him to be uber pro WoW player, but his commentary is that of a person who watched their friend play for a few hours. Scott probably should do a podcast on something he at least has passing knowledge of.
They did not handle the past year or so well. Don’t like dueling hosts and lack of other voices. They don’t seem to really play the game or do it in a way to retain knowledge about it. A listener can do better for information.
Scott loves two things in life: praising blizzard for everything imagineable, and jokes from a middle school locker room. Garrett loves one thing in life and that's bragging about how much he hates everyone who plays blizzard games. Combine these two and you have a commercial from a couple guys who hate the consumers of the product.
This show got me into podcasts! For the Alliance!
Great show, Scott’s been incredible for his entire tenure on here. Side question: How much of a donation would it take to get Garrett off the show? I get he’s always available when others can’t make it, but my god is that dude pompous. At the very least, can we get an edit where a male blood elf laughs over all of his voice clips? Would make the show infinitely more bearable.
Great interaction with the community! Enjoys discussing Weiner a little too much but can be forgiven in order to get the doses of Patrick talking grumpy and mythical Turp appearances. Garrett and Scott without Europe's brightest is not an appealing recipe
So much WoW and yes reasoned takes that are bred from passion and experience.
This guy sounds like he’s being paid by blizzard to say the stuff he says. Smh
Best Sylvanus NA :)
It's hard to be critical when you are friends with the game developer. Not well researched.
I've been listening since around episode 200 and even though the show has had some new voices over the years, the fun vibe has been consistent. They've managed to stay relevant rather than become stagnant as they keep up with Blizzard. I'm a fan of Scott et al just as much as I am off Blizzard.
There are three reasons why I love this show. 1) I started playing WoW in MOP and love exploring the world of Azeroth. The instance always has cool things to do, fun tips, little known facts, and pointers to make playing WoW that much more enjoyable. 2) As a completionist and student of history, I started listening to the earliest show I could, which was like episode 168 just prior to the release of Cata. It’s been so much fun listening to Scott and Randy talk about what was new content at the time and seeing how different the game has become between then and now. 3) As I work through my Master’s degree, listening to the show helps keep me sane and gives me my WoW fix as I don’t have the bandwidth to both play and study right now. Love the show!
Thanks for sharing my hobby.
Thanks Scott, Patrick, Garrett and Turpster. You guys provide quality highly entertaining content here. You helped rehabilitate me from being a hardcore raider to being discouraged that now as a full time working Husband and Father there’s no hope for me to get to play WoW. But Scott’s laid back approach to progress and having a “stop and smell the herbs” attitude really made the game fun for me again. BFA has been such a blast for me and am loving every minute of it. Also Garrett spells his name the same as mine so that’s awesome lol. All in all keep doing what you’re doing guys!
Title says it all. Keep up the great work, guys! For the Horde!!! 👹
The Instance is a must listen to any fans of Blizzard and their many different properties. Scott is a phenomenal host and the synergy between he and Garrett is one for the books. Sprinkle in the occasional Turps and Patrick and you’re in for a hell of a time. Wonderful, engaging, funny, and informative. That’s the core of The Instance podcast. Much love guys, keep it up!
I am newbie to WoW, just started playing a couple months ago. I play with my husband who started during classic. This podcast is great for me! Gives me enough lore and game overview to help me be more effective, but not too much that I get lost. And now I know enough to giggle at boosting a 108....makes me laugh every time! Love it! Makes a person human, no worries. Keep up the great work!
I used to like this pod cost but now they keep bringing in politics and I hate it
I always listen to The Instance. Great info and insights for all things Blizzard. I love Scott, Garrett, Turpster and Patrick!
Its super and awesome
Started up playing WoW again after a substantial break and this podcast takes me straight back to my dorm room!! Still the same after all this time, don’t let up, I love it!!
I don’t get to play WoW as much anymore so getting to listen others talk about it and other blizzard games and topics is absolutely great. Gets me even more pumped to play the little bit of time I get to!
World of Warcraft is the shows foundation. And announcements of up & coming changes to this MMO is an insight that we gamers love to get!
Love it! I just got back into playing WOW and this is great for my morning drive!!! Keep it up!
Sometimes it goes off topic to stuff that’s a bit too touchy. Would have reviewed four stars but a recent episode went a bit too far from gaming and internet culture to political nature. Not what I want from escapism.
It's like a rock band that lost its passion. It has become Scott's job to support his family not a project for the love of the game. It also feels like a political show now. Like most media it's no surprise where he stands. It's condescending at times and I feel like they talk down to the audience. If you're like me and hate when non political shows get political then you will hate this show. Just too much virtue signaling for me.
I play Soldrake on Bronzebeard, and this is the perfect WoW podcast for me. Scott and his friends are just different enough to keep the conversation fresh and funny, while still being informative. Also, I love the Overly Dramatic News, bit that often sneaks in at the end.
Thanks for being there in my darkest days
If you want a speech-to-text podcast of WoW patch notes, this isn't the show for you, otherwise, it's great!
Unsub from me. I’ve tried to keep a positive attitude about the podcast but the content has become total garbage. Take some constructive advice, get rid of Patrick. I will also no longer be donating to Frogpants.
I came in a bit late but have listened for a few hundred episodes at this point. Absolutely love it, especially the lore episodes.
I listen to a couple different WoW podcasts and I thoroughly enjoy this one. I recently re-discovered The Instance earlier this year and have not been disappointed since. Scott has an excellent podcasting voice, Patrick is very informative, and I have been a fan of Turpster since the WotLK days when I first encountered his channels. Turpster’s summary of lore has my sides hurting by the time I get to work. This podcast definitely brightens up my commute!
Jaina Proudmore, Thrall and Varian Wrnn. I can't wait to see who you do next!
I really like all the normal people he has on the show and Scott is pretty good to :p
I have grown up with this podcast as a child. The changes over time have been frightening, but ultimately improve the show. This can rarely be said for similar entertainment. Episode 142 with turpster is a personal favorite of mine. For the horde!
I've been a dedicated WoW player in the past, and have always loved Blizzard games. This podcast has kept me in touch with those worlds so capably and enjoyably. Listening to gamers who are also busy and trying to fit their favorite fun into the whole of life's schedule really clicks with me. These folks are genuine, positive, and share and compare their favorite games so these 'casts feel like a conversation about general game enjoyment, rather than just all about one realm (pun intended). Oh, and as a Warcraft nerd, the Lore-centric episodes are particularly good, fun, and definitely keepers!
After years of giving this a 5 star review, I'm taking it back. The recent product has really taken a turn for the worse. Neither Scott nor his guests are playing much and do little during the podcast but go through the patch notes and talking about other games. In episode 477 they even talk about how this is alright and don't feel bad about it. You should feel bad when you ask us for money to support a podcast that you are putting absolute minimal effort in to. Please for the love of what this podcast once was, discontinue it or rename it TMS part 2. This is not longer worth my while as I get more orignial info on WoW from my Facebook account. Loved it in the past.
Some hosts I like from other shows, but somehow here things feel awkward. They cover all of Blizzard's games, but none very deeply. Frequently crosses the line of acceptable fan-squeeing from a fan produced podcast into apologist territory. They often create straw men ("people are saying" or generically "twitter") to have arguments with instead of just going into the positive things about (or even constructive criticism with) the Blizzard ecosystem. Not bad, well-produced, but you can probably find better content from something dedicated to the specific game you're interested in.
I like these guys, but the recent cast on vanilla wow was just sad. Scott tried to chime in seeing from the other side of things, but was vastly overwritten by the rest of the group writing off legacy servers as ridiculous. Even ridiculing the people who play them and the fantastic group of individuals trying to keep a game alive in a different state. Calling the nice community on legacy servers a bunch of whiny babies is really pathetic. These are just people that recognize that the game isn't in a state that makes it enjoyable anymore FOR THEM. Not having to work for things takes away meaning and just places a carrot in front of your face for that next shiny that will be handed to you.
It's podcast that feels like it's an ad for blizzard. Additionally, the hosts don't offers any great insight into the game. In other words, they seem to casually play the game don't have a deep understanding of classes, raids, PVP, and so on. However, the production of the show are exceptional; hence, the on star.
I was really sick when i finished listening to this podcast for the first time. After, my symptoms were all gone. Not trying to say it has god like powers but its doing something right.
My favorite WoW show. Keep it going guys.
Scott and crew are a great bunch to hang around with talking WoW and other Blizz games. Scott, Patrick, Dills and Turpster are a perfect mix. I don't play many of the others and it's still engaging to listen to them talk about Heroes. The lore episodes with Turp are amazingly fun, keep doing those guys!
The Instance is the only podcast I skip to in my queue so I'm up to date on all things Blizzard. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep skipping the rest of my podcast queue to listen. Thanks for the amazing show guys.
There's a lot better WOW podcast out there.
4 great personalities talk about Warcraft and usually fill you in with updates of other Blizz games
Do you ever listen to an album where it's obvious they're just phoning it in? that's what the lore episode felt like to me. It's like T was contractually obligated to appear on so many episodes and this one made up for others that he'd missed. It felt rushed and read, even worse it felt like Scott had to feign interest. Maybe it's because I was already familiar with the lore; perhaps it's because I listen to other podcasts do it better. I just don't see why the instance needs a lore special. Love the (usual) show though.
Keeps me updated with everything Blizzard!!
Just got around to listening to the First Lore episode. Not gonna lie, I love the Instance normally, even with Scott, et al, mixing up names and lore (hey I get it, I'm the same way), but this... this was exceptional. Turpster's take on the Lore is always a highlight, and this full length cast, was a treasure I will listen to over and over again. Please do more!!!
Absolutely love your podcast! I haven't been able to play as much as I want to (real life obligations), but your podcast keeps me up to date and reminds me everytime I listen of why I love this game so much. I loved your recent episode of "Lore Special 001 " and I can't wait for more! Turpster has such an amazing way to tell the story. Scott, you do such a fantastic job as host and all around everyone (Patrick, and guests) make this podcast something I look forward to every week. Keep it up! <3
I look forward to it every week! One of the best shows out there!
I've played WOW on/off for years, but still listen to your podcast. You guys got me back in for Legion and I'm glad!! Lore Special .... AWESOME!!! Now I am even more interested in finshing out quest lines to see what happens
This is a great show! Lots of interesting topics and fun humor! Makes it difficult to listen to at work sometimes. The lore episode was very informative and hilarious. Please keep these up! Especially with how deep into the lore this expansion goes this is a fun way to learn about it.
I haven't played WoW in five years, but I listen to every WOW podcast out there, especially lore podcast because LOVE the universe. Lately most of the lore cast have been all about legion quest and really not touch the lore. Your latest lore cast was phenomenal I loved it. Please keep it going.
This episode was great saved it for repeated listenings. It was better than Cats and I will listen to it again and again!
I love the lore episode, please make more of them!
The Instance sets the standard when it comes to Blizzard podcasts. Excellent all around.
Just the right amout of humor, critical discussion, and laid back chatter about WoW and all things Blizzard!
I love this podcast - very informative, funny, and passionate about the game (and all Blizzard games). The guys sound like super nice people in real life and are enthusiastic as well as knowledgeable. Love them!
All four of these guys are great and while, they are as big a nerds as I am (which is pretty nerdy) make being nerdy over Blizzard games sound cool. Love you guys. - Oilyperuvian
When Scott and Garrett (plus Dills) come together, great things happen. Two of my favorite hosts in Podcasts. You guys made the content fun to listen to and got us all hot and bothered to play. This next expansion, bringing artifact legendaries, will be commenting a lot of past heroes. A suggestion for people coming back that might have missed out on lore, I present this game: Warcraft: Dead of Alive Say a hero name, say if they are dead or alive, and say when/where they died or were last seen. Example: Rhonin, dead, the battle of Theramore. Keep up the good work and I look forward to more episodes! Thekunka#1912
I have been listening to this podcast for around 4 or 5 years now and I still don't miss an episode! It's the best WoW/Blizzard podcast by far
You guys are epic and you make the gap between expansions more tolerable. The fantastic personality dynamic with those on the show just makes the whole thing gel perfectly and it's a blast to listen to. Thanks for doing what you do!
This podcast has fallen from grace. The host Scott Johnson feels like he's tired of doing this podcast, and the subject matter shows that. If you want Blizzard news, listen to this. But honestly any other gaming podcast will do the same thing, and give you info on so much more.
Love ya love the show!
Have been listening to this show since 2008. This Show rules
Never miss a week. Keep up the great work guys!
It's not all about wow anymore! But it's great every week.
Years ago they would talk nigh 100 percent about World of Warcraft. Now they talk about na emo teen shooter Overwatch and Fat 'inttlectual' thinking nerds game Hearthstone- a rip off of Tragic the Harrowing or Magik the Gathering if you prefer. They DO NOT even play World of Warcraft anymore! If you are interested in Overwatch, HEarthstone, or a few other Blizzard games and you prefer humor over substance and knowlegde (they are often inccorect or admit they do NOT know the answer to thier gmae pondering) then by all means listen to them blatheron boldly and oft sans a clue about the games they play besides WORLD OF WARCRAFT. Otherwise do not bother with this podcast. If you are an emo shooter babekid who was never in the USMC and thinks that is kewl and like butt and poo jokes you will love them goofy talk on Overwatch! Hoooray!
The best podcast not about WoW by people who used to play the game!
The addition of Patrick has provided much needed balance. The show strays off topic into tangents a little to much for me. The news segment is very general and doesn't go beyond the Blizzard headlines. Still entertaining at times but hard to follow. If your looking for in-depth wow discussion, look elsewhere.
Hello, David "TheManZombie" here. I main a Draenei Prot Paladin on Argent Dawn with The Riders of Rohan guild. I listen to your show every week. It keeps me up to date, informed, and entertained on my car rides to and from ANYWHERE. Thank you so much for having such a wonderful show to listen to. I hope you all are doing great! It is never too soon for the next episode of THE INSTANCE! For Azeroth! -David "TheManZombie"
I have started listening to this and other AMove shows a few months ago, and LOVE them. However, The Instance loves to shove their liberal political opinions down your throat. Host that can't seem to keep their political opinions aside (liberal or conservative) should not have shows that appeal to such a wide and diverse audience. I could look past it, but it is just to much in some of the episodes. Just wanted to let you know before you listen. Maybe you can get past it, and you should at least give it a shot.
Look forward to your shows every chance I get to listen in! I've been a blizzard fan boy since 94 when Warcraft Orcs and Humans got me hooked! Love your insight and the opportunity to connect to the blizzard community through listening to the great work you guys do. Keep it coming!
It's finally at critical mass. A whole Overwatch episode on a WOW podcast finally did it. It was a great bunch of years, but I'm tapping out.
After listening to the podcast I wanted to join in on the live show but that was a huge dissapointment. I went to the website for the "live" show when it was on so that I could see the people and join the chat room. But the entire show was only just the host talking into a mic and listening to another guy who doesn't even have a webcam on like a call-in radio program. Nothing to see, Now I know why this is an audio only podcast. And I don't know where that chat room is, I couldn't find it. So, a great listen, sometimes, for a recorded podcast but the website and the live shpw is a total waste of time.
These podcasters are in denial that WoW is over, and they have good reason to be as their business depends on its survival. Most shows consist of the crew talking about OTHER games such as Diablo 3, Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone. To me it appears Scott and the other members are more concerned about their other podcasts and don't have enough time or desire to put out a weekly episode. Call it what it is, a Blizzard podcast...rename it... It isn't 'The Instance' any longer and continuing to suggest that it is mostly about WoW is extremely misleading and a disservice to those downloading episodes.... WHEN they are available.
This show used to be great - my favorite podcast - but now, like WoW, this show is reaching its end. I actually prefer the new format of discussing all things Blizzard and now just WoW because I love the personalities on the show. The problem is the show is down to 2 episodes a month and usually has 2 hosts instead of 4. At the time I'm writing this, Terpster has not been on in 2 months and Dills is almost never on. So if your show is missing the people that make it fun and great, then your just an informational show and I can just go read Reddit. I think it's time to end this show and for the team to reinvent themselves.
The best hearthstone podcast around.
Listen to your show each week and always very entertaining and informative! Keep up the great work.
Pat always brings such a good tone to the show. I love these guys. I've quit and come back but always listen to the guys to keep up to date. Thanks for all these episodes. Looking forward to plenty more!
...but I still listen to The Instance. Is this podcast better than the game that inspired it?
Long time listener of the show. My gripe isn't with the hosts (although I'm pretty sure I have very little in common with any of them), but how many are on at once. I'd like to see the number cut to three or less. When all four are together, it really becomes conversation hodge-podge. Two is perfect. I don't care which two, but two is a really nice, listenable balance. My two cents, thanks for all the years providing us with this good show.
I used to love this show and would have given if five stars easily. However, this year the show has fallen off my radar a bit because of the new host Patrick. I really enjoyed the light-hearted conversations and humor the show had to offer in the past, but now it feels like it’s just a constant argument with Patrick. I “really really” hate how disagreeable Patrick is about EVERYTHING. He seems to have a fervent opinion on every single topic that is brought up and he doesn’t know how to pick his battles so that conversation can continue smoothly most of the time. I don’t know if it’s what he brings up, how often, or the condescending tone he takes much of the time; I suspect it’s a combination of those things. I don’t mind when the hosts have a brief disagreement and debate, but it never used to be the central theme of the show. I feel like Patrick’s time at Blizzard has turned him into a Blizzard know-it-all and he has to make sure everyone knows that at every turn. Let me be clear that I don’t hate Patrick as a person, I hate him as a host of The Instance. His after show content from back in the day was absolutely wonderful.
Even though I stop playing WoW for long periods during the year. I still listen to these guys all year. Funny stuff and informative.
Love the show and is always one of my favorite parts of the week. Any week without you is pretty rough. Please don't stop. Ever.
IMO the BEST WoW podcast. I'm new to listening to podcasts and have whittled down the many offerings to just a few and this is my number one pick.
This podcast has a lot of helpful info and is entertaning at the same time. I don't play WoW but i think i may start.
Awesome show and definitely a must listen every week. Scott dills tupster and Patrick all know their stuff.
I thought that I might not like it because I haven't played World of Warcraft since I was 6 and wouldn't now what they were talking about. I finally tried it after hearing about it from Dills on the Angry Chicken so many times. G;ad I tried it because it is AWESOME!!!!!
I love that it's more than just wow. Always laughing throughout the show. Keep them coming! Really really.
Since I started listening, I've never missed an episode. The Instance is a must-listen for WoW players. :D
I really really enjoy Patrick being a permanent member of The Instance team, really really.
I enjoy the banter and such. I especially like when they don't stick to the subject. But today I was kind of tricked into listening a bunch of noobs playing Heroes of the storm, and I had to just stop. I was expecting a real episode, not this garbage. The appeal of hearing bad players play a game is worse then watching them on Twitch. No Scott, you can't bring over twitch to the podcast world. It just doesn't work that way.
I used to listen to this show religiously. But Patrick has the MOST annoying voice, accent and things to talk about. I can’t listen to this show anymore because of him. Terpster is awesome, but please kick Patrick to the curb, fast. now. In the meantime, I guess I’m stuck listening to “Into the Nexus” and Angry Chicken. I’m enjoying Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm more than WoW anyway, these days.
I love the show, look forward to listening to it every week, don't care for Patrick constantly disagreeing with every point made.
Awesome show, awesome casters. Over all right and tight.
This used to be a great show. There was a lot of information that was delivered with great humor that I looked forward to every week. I had stopped playing wow for a while so I stopped listening to the show. When I came back I was greeted by Patrick talking over everyone and rambling like Abe Simpson. He talks about Nintendo and whatever is on his mind regardless of the flow of the show. Which has the flow of a stagnant puddle now. Wow is a secondary subject now. What a shame, the production quality is fantastic. I guess I'm stuck listening to the amateur hour podcasts to get my news now.
The Instance is great for keeping up with what's going on in WoW without having to pore over multiple fansites and forums. Scott, Patrick, Dills and Terpster are always entertaining even when I vehemently disagree with them, and by "disagree with them" I mean "disagree with Terpster". Seriously, never let that man design a game. But in all seriousness all the hosts are great. I used to read fansites obsessively, but now I get a lot of my news from The Instance and just skim over other sites. The end segments vary in quality. Some are great, others can drag on, but they're easily skippable when they do. They should probably each be a bit shorter and punchier. Great to listen to while playing Hearthstone!
Been listening to this podcast since the beginning and I'm done. I know WoD has been out for a few months now, but as a player that doesn't blow through the content, I'm extremely disappointed with the weekly major spoilers. Listening to this podcast has always ADDED to my WoW experience and now it's ruining it. Maybe I'll try again once I've completed all the zones, but I've lost a lot of respect.
Yeah, yeah, yeah… the WoW podcast market isn’t exactly flooded, but this one is the best of the best. The key part here, that helps this podcast, is the production quality. It is crystal clear and the hosts/guests all speak well. They aren’t stuttering and getting held up with explaining solid opinions. Here are my only complaints: 1) How did it take me until late 2014 to find this podcast? 2) I wish it was longer than 60-90 minutes. lol
You know that guy who thinks he knows it all, thinks he is always right, and thinks he is funny? That is Patrick Beja the latest edition to the show. If that guy is your friend or you find him amusing then you will love this show now. If not then listen to all the shows up to the point he came on and then just wait it out until he hopefully leaves.
One of the best wow podcasts they always keep the stories going and entertaining with little if any downtime
I've been listening to this podcast for years! Even while not playing WOW. Love the addition of Patrick. REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY.
This is the first WoW podcast to be great and it’s still very entertaining. Very entertaining podcast by a great group of people who love to discuss WoW, and Blizzard more generally. Production value is very high for a WoW podcast. Scott Johnson is a fantastic pilot of the show. If you like WoW you can’t go wrong here.
This is a horrible podcast. A bunch of useless casuals talk about things of which they have no clue. They regularly divert the conversation into talks about macaulay culkin for extended periods of time. They recently added another host who adds absolutely nothing to the show. In the last 2 episodes, they've decided it's fun to make fun of PTSD and encourage listeners to make jokes about it. Something that, as a veteran who has know people who killed themselves because of PTSD, I find highly offensive. I hope others will boycot this awful show.
The new addition, Patrick, is absolutely terrible and adds nothing to the show. All he does is butt in and reiterate stuff that has already been said or make excuses on Blizzard's behalf. Before him the show always had a fairly neutral approach. For me it has gotten to the point where it's just aggravating to listen to, so I am canceling my sub and my monthly donation to Frogpants.
I stopped listening to The Instance in 2011' and just came back to it today. Although I'm currently not playing WoW anymore I'm glad y'all are still going strong. Also I was delighted to hear Buxley again.
Love the shower and look forward to listening to it on my commute every week. Please keep it up!
This is a good show, a great and informitive program that discusses anything and everything WoW, and even some other things! But if you dont like stealth ads, dont like someone cutting in mid-sentence for an ad, then dont bother.
I love listening to this podcast when I'm walking the dog in the morning. Great general information about WoW, and fun random outbursts. This is not an elitist discussion podcast. Listen to one episode, you will be hooked!
I'm a long time listener who just recently converted to an apple product and This show is so amazing that I've prioritized giving them a 5 star rating before downloading any apps. They are very responsive with call in questions and they make any commute an enjoyable experience. Please continue the great work.
I have been playing WOW for several years. I love all of the information that I am getting from the podcast. Keep up the good work.
I started listening to pod casts a few months ago and this is the one i started with. it is by far the best Warcraft/Gaming podcast i have found.
This show renews my love and passion for World Of Warcraft everytime I listen to it. Like SURGE this show makes me feel like I can do anything but without all the side effects that SURGE brings. You stay classy guys and I will continue to spread the word!
My name is Josh and I am a chronic alt leveler. I have been listening since the WotLK days, but for some reason I never left a review. I list to the Instance every time I am leveling an alt to help pass the time. Some episodes even get multiple listens. Keep up the great work guys! Regards, Fèlscream - Aggramar
I unsubed at episode 352 because I was just done with all the hearthstone talk, and all the talk about non-WoW things. Sure you can talk a bit about other Blizzard products. But the show was coming off as a show about the products, or nothing at all instead about WoW. So when episode 352 had zero WoW talk for more than 15 minutes I was done. Fast forward to now to episode 382 and I get four minutes of a huge life event for the host, then get 15 minutes in and they are talking about Magic the Gathering. I only came back to this show because WoD is coming soon. Not to hear the same stuff that drove me away in the first place. When this show is on topic it's great for all players at all levels. I can't stress that enough. But when the show isn't on topic it's just going to piss you off if you haven't bought into all of Blizzards products. Frogpants has shows that cover the products, and as a podcast studio they should know when a show needs to be cut down to be about the topic at hand.
Discovered The Instance on a business trip and was immediately hooked. This was the first Warcraft podcast that I listened to. I have listened to several others since then, and The Instance is by far the best one I have found so far. Keep up the good work, love the show.
It's been a while since I've listened, but over that time it's gotten better and better and I'm glad to start catching back up!
I'm just getting back into WOW because of these guys. Keep up the great work
In all seriousness, this is the best podcast for WoW. It reminds me of a friendly banter conversation I might overhear between like minded friends, and provides a lot of good information. It's presented in a professional manner but maintains a familiarity with the target audience. Love the show.
The Instance… Great podcast for anyone interested in the World of Warcraft, Scott and the guys always deliver great content with superior banter. They sometimes go off topic, about being off topic, but for me thats part of the charm of the show.
I look forward to this show every week because the fellas are the exact kind of people I love to play WoW with. They speak my language, fun. There are criticisms that they wander off topic, but that's actually one of the things that makes the show great. These are guys you want to hang out with/be in their Guild. If you love WoW for all of its glory and guffaws, these guys have your Arcane Shot on Gruul ready.
I tried it. A lot of internet chatter led me here. While I enjoyed very few moments, and the production and poise were great, the main host just reminded me of a noob in trade chat that you thought was a troll but is genuinely a noob. On the last episode they got to talking about the bike and cited the Wrath mammoth as a premium vanity mount gold standard flipping out over 100k. I am not rich in game by any means but even I am smart enough to know by next year that isn't as bad as it sounds. Then Scott entertained the idea of there being cross-faction biking and I just turned it off and deleted it. You can get the news fine from other sources, but I wish I could find a WoW podcast that's both charismatic AND intelligent while being digestible.
you can tell they are good at talking. the flow is ok in a verbal sense. that said, almost half of the show isn't even about world of warcraft. there just isn't enough substance; I am done with The Instance. If you want to spend minutes hearing about how their week was like or who they saw at the pool, with tidbits of wow mixed in, listen to this podcast. If you are like me and would rather hear only about wow-related things then you are better off with a different podcast.
This podcast is always awesome, I only found it about a month ago after playing WoW since launch, and I suddenly feel like a big dummy. Thanks for so much awesome content and coverage.
Great show, even if you're not an expert in WoW. Very professional and fun.
What can I say that others have not. Its a great show that stands side by side with The Adam Carolla Show.
This is an amazing show to listen to I recommend it to any current or past World of Warcraft or Blizzard Entertainment fan or anyone looking to get in to it really. Big time thumbs up for the great shows!
More turbster!!!!!!! From us at PWNcast!!!!
Love this cast. Everyone should listen to it.
These guys make an entertaining podcast -- so much so that I listen to hear them talk about news that I probably already read. Don't take the "we don't take sides" part too seriously, though. Alliance players will be sorely disappointed if they expect to hear anything positive about our side. :) But hey, it's all in good fun.
I returned to Wow after a four year layoff a few months back. I discovered this podcast when I returned and now like it better than my LFR geared level 90 huntard. Yes they are fanboys - but they are OUR fanboys so all is good.
I have been listening to the instance since back when Randy was still on the show and every episode has been great. It is both informative and casual. I also love how they are so culturally diverse with an american, a brit and a canadian(i am looking at you Dills). Thanks guys for a great show.
Best podcast EVVVVAAAA!!!!!
Great podcast to listen to even if you arn't playing WoW. Very entertaining and consistent.
Show has declined as time has gone on. Best time to tune in is immediately pre and immediately post new expansions. The hosts freely admit they don't play as much these days, and the news they bring up is lacking in substance because of that fact. The podcast is now much more about Blizzard in general than just WoW, which isn't so bad if you play those other games, but I would imagine is disappointing if you don't. If you're any more than just the very casual WoW gamer, the show will leave you underwhelmed, and there are better options out there. However, I will say that Turpster is the highlight of the show, and I'd listen to him talk about pretty much anything.
Even when I am not playing WoW actively I listen to the show. Keeps me posted on all the Blizzard News. Thanks guys! Don’t ever stop.
Great show, won't give you cancer!
You guys bring a nice perspective to the community. I laugh when people call you fan boys, arent we all fan boys? isnt that why we play blizz games? Been playing since original Beta, plan on being here for a while longer. Although i am bored to death of Garry, i may slow down a bit but i will still be here come warlords. Thanks enjoy the show, keep up the good work. PS Blizz hates the Allience. LOL Veejer Aerie Peek (US) CTR
I have been listening for 6+months and I enjoy every podcast, but you need to talk about hunters more..
This is my favorite gaming podcast and worth listening to for anyone who is playing or has played WoW. Even when I am on a break from WoW I still love listening to the show. Great balance of information and entertainment and the combination of Scott, Dills and Turpster is a perfect fit.
been listening for many many years. Keep it up!
This is Arsenal in CTR. Great show and have been a fan for a long time. Love the info about Warcraft, but also love all the news about other Blizzard products. Big fan.
I look forward to it every week!!
Even when I would stop playing WoW for years, I never stopped listening to the Instance. Scott, Dills, and Terpster are sharp and witty, and provide an excellently crafted production in this ultimate feat-of-fandom podcast. Each show satisifies my weekly craving yet I'm always eager for more.
I love listening to The Instance. This podcast is what gets me back into playing WoW during the post expansion pack funk. Love the show!
Love the show, even when its not 100% wow news. We live in a time where blizzard is pumping out alot of stuff and Scott, Turpster, and Dillz keep me up to date
A fun, entertaining and informative WOW pod cast. Always excellent like all of the Frogpants stuff. Keep up the good work.
I don't expect any response, but why do you not talk any about Wildstar like you do other games during you WoW show. Diablo I get, made by Blizzard. TESO(will fail), SWTOR(did fail). Wildstar ( hopefully not a fail). No MMORPG will have WoW numbers due to player burnout. It will take an entire new concept to bring back the masses of MMORPG players that have been lost. You can contact me using Greenwall.
Never fails to get me up to date with all things warcraft thanks scot dills and turpster!
I look foward to the dl each week&have a blast gettin the scoop on the latest blizzard content not just wow info; just started listenin to poscasts in general&really cant say enough good things about these guys....Horde Side!
It's not in vogue to use the word, but I can think of no other that fits. Thse guys are a bunch of Blizzard fanboys. They could wrap it up in twenty minutes and get on with it, but NOOOO, they have to spend an hour and a half slobbering over whatever project Blizzard is onto at the momen and essentially singing the company's praises, whatever game-ruining choice they make. I'll be moving on.
Just spent the last 3 weeks catching up on about 30 of your shows after recently discovering it, thanks for keeping me entertained when my slow Gamestop (I'm the store manager) is empty for hours on end.
I've been listening to The Instance for Years and I never get board.
The podcast is more of a Blizzard podcast than a World of Warcraft podcast nowadays. Segements often spend time talking about Hearthstone, Diablo 3 and other Blizzard related items. The three chair host system often has one host missing now, and the hosts are honest about their reduced gametime. While the hosts are friendly and fun to listen to, the news is often able to be found on the front page of the WoW website. True WoW gamers may want to check out Convert to Raid or other WoW related podcasts.
I haven't played in years but this show is a good time for all!
Super great and informative podcast. The HOSTS ARE AMAZING :D
Terriffic Podcast about everything WoW and beyond!!
I'm guessing Mr. Johnson was a big fan of Stern or talk radio in general. As far as Warcraft podcasts go, Scott, Turpster, and Dills have a much smoother, relaxed back and forth between hosts than any other. Generally a good listen, even if there's little to no news/content to discuss.
I've become quite a fan of The Instance. I enjoy not only what they say, but how they say it. They have a great sense of community about them. Also, Need Moar Terpster!!! Tim (aka. Zwingli)
Found it a few months ago so I went back and downloaded all the shows from the Mists launch. Great times. Keep up the good work!!
I listen to multiple WOW podcasts on my drive to the office and this is by far my favorite. Dills always includes weekly updates about Beebs and Macaulay, so its nice to keep up to date :-) Great show guys
Yet another great thing to look forward to on Fridays.
I just recently discovered podcast and i must say that not just the Instance but most of the Frog Pants podcast are at the top of my list every week. Its really awesome listening to like minded people discuss topics I am interested in. Keep up the good work guys and i may consider doing a guest appearance on an upcoming episode! Until then...we will always have the internet.
I love this show. It's always entertaining and interesting. Anyone who likes Blizzard games should be listening.
The Instance is one of the most established WoW podcasts with great quality, entertaining hosts and news relevant to the WoW community.
PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT HEARTHSTONE! It drives me crazy when all I want to hear is a WoW podcast :(
Your podcast is a Perfect piece of digital art..... Don't ever stop......
Absolutely spectacular and extraordinarily satisfying.
They don't really discuss World of Warcraft very much. The majority of their podcast seems to be centered around a different game called Hearthstone, which hasn't even been released yet.
One of the great WoW podcasts out there. While their technical info isn't always of the highest quality, other podcasts can provide that but few others provide the spirit of fun and true enjoyment of WoW that the hosts bring every week. Always in my top tier of podcasts.
Enrico like, is good.
By far my most favorite gaming podcast.
I've been playing WoW since early vanilla and have strayed away from the game after getting a toon to 90. This podcast has made me really want to get back into the game. Scott and gang do a great job of keeping it fresh, talking to the masses and not just the hardcore WoW'ers.
I love the podcast, love that you talk about all of the great Blizzard games, and don’t mind that you’re such big fans of the company. If I didn’t love (almost) everything they did, I probably wouldn’t be listening in. Keep it up!
It's all my the title... Good show.
Scott, Dills and the other guy who shall remain nameless do an awesome job! Best podcast by far and they know it. The music is seriously incredible. Fluggenstein ( pronounced floogenstine) Antondonis horde side NOT!
I've played WoW on and off since beta. I never stuck with it long enough to get to max level or experience the full amount of awesome that was to be had. I always loved the idea of the game, but didn't have any close friends that played a lot and so would lose interest and jump to a different MMO before coming back. About a year ago I really got into the game again. I decided to look beyond the game and started listening to some podcasts. This is one of the podcasts that I fell in love with and it helped give me the sense of connection and community to the game that I was lacking because of my lack of RL friends playing. Since then I have finally achieved a max level toon (Troll Balance Druid), joined an awesome guild, done some raiding, and generally finally found what I always thought was waiting for me in WoW. Keep up the great show and thanks for everything you do. :) (Similar reviews will be popping up on the other 2 podcasts that complete my top 3.)
These guys are the best! I've played WoW for years and never listened to podcasts before. I'm totally sucked in and can't wait for the new podcast. I'm lucky enough to listen at work and hope to catch a live podcast soon. Finally, thanks for the Hearthstone beta key. It's killing me I have to wait til after work to play!!
This is THE WoW Podcast to listen to. It has strict segments that are rarely deviated from, the show moves at a quick pace while still managing to be engaging, and best of all, the 3 hosts all play the game differently, allowing a diverse way to look at the most popular MMO to date. However, given this podcast's popularity, Scott Johnson, the host, has elected to have ads in the podcast. This is not the problem, ads are expected in this day and age. The problem lies with how he chooses to air them. Instead of a "brought to you by" at the beginning of a show or segment, the ads will drop (sometimes literally) right in the middle of a sentence while the three are talking, leading to a lot of confusion more than once. Still, it's a minor problem that can be easily fixed - just give the ad its own space instead of shoving it in the middle.
I jumped on to podcasts since working nights. Yours was not only informative but also entertaining. I was expecting a few screaming 13 year olds and was pleasantly surprised to find we're close in age and opinion. Keep up the great work!!
Love the pod. I have been away from the game since the end of Wotlk after having played since launch. After listening to a few of your podcasts I reactivated my account, and not only that, but I rerolled horde side after playing a dwarf paladin since launch. I am now a lvl 33 sunwalker. Thanks for the entertainment while I'm at work I will see you on Earthen Ring once I've leveled a bit more
The dynamic of the live audience with the three of you makes a great podcast greater.
No Blizzcon show!! Liars!!! <3
All you ever need to know.
Crippled at a very young age I'd forever given up hope to ever walk again. A few years back I started listening to The Instance and slowly feeling started to creep back into my legs. After only listening to a few months worth of shows I was able to walk again! I'm now a professional baseball player and I hit home runs for a living just like Scott Johnson and his crew do every week with this podcast. For the Horde!
Fantastic WoW and general gaming podcast. Scott Johnson produces a gem here. Him, Dills, and Turpster are great to listen to. Love the show.
I cannot tell you how many times I’ve bust out laughing from these guys. They help me keep up with the game, especially since I went on hiatus for a good two years. A well-rounded podcast. I named my Fish from Pandaria “Lil’ Gills”. Thanks guys.
I have been a subscriber to WoW since 2005 and still enjoy every minute. I have taken a few breaks throughout the years, but kept returning eventually. I found this podcast just before Mists of Pandaria launched last year and have been hooked ever since. Te show is great and the hosts are hilarious as well as very knowledgable about Blizzard. I can't wait for Fridays to roll around for a new episode and to keep me pumped for what's to come. Keep up the amazing work!!!
Loving this show even more now that they've branched out a little and are discussing a variety of Blizzard products. Don't let the negative reviews bother you, this podcast is very entertaining and chock full of Blizzard goodness.
Scott, Dills and Terbster are amazing presenters, hosts, commentators and all around fun guy; I wouldn't mind buying them a whole keg of beer should our pathes cross. The Instance has a wonderful balance of humor, commentary on WOW and all games. If you are looking for theorycraft, number cruntching and trolling, head on over to an elite forum board. If you are looking for a group of fun players that epitomize the cultural phenomenon that is WOW, then look no further! I only wish more of my friends actually played so I can share the joy I feel listening to the instance, RM, convert to raid, legendary and battle pets!
Emailed the show in a very respectful way about the over zealous Hearthstone Content. I load up this episode to find out they made of me and everyone else who love the show and took time to try and make it better. Extremely disappointed that all the hosts acted so childish will be inscribing and contacting the shows sponsor. Will be having everyone I know that listens to the show know as well.
Great group of people, great audio quality. Informative and entertaining!
its chase orgill i love the podcast shout out to bill skoros for me plz
These guys are awesome because of them being casualcore I left wow at the end of WOTK and I just got brought back to wow from a friend about a month ago I used to be a hardcore raider but now I'm more like these guys where I don't dedicate my whole life to the game I live a normal life just has a wow life to, to where I'm not crazy concered about getting the best gear as fast as possible just get it a healthy pace lol no offense to hardcore players and I love he lore talk but I don't follow it on the game a lot but I love hearing about it and I just about caught up on all the MOP episodes because I drive all day and you guys made coming back to WoW so much easier and funner keep up the awesome work but I'm sorry For The Alliance!
I am a traditionally a Diablo player but after listening to this podcast it has made me go back to WoW. You guys are awesome, funny, and know how to deliver news on Blizzard products. Keep up the good work and live long and prosper!!!
Too much hearthstone talk, the hosts are far too casual(to the point where they barely play), and the worst part is where the very lengthy plugs are inserted. 2-3 minute plugs for audible or shutterstock in mid conversation is amateur hour. Put them in while transitioning segments and make them 30sec, after that it just sounds like desperation as you reiterate everything. This used to be a great podcast, but the hosts seem to have lost interest in the game and the podcast.
One of the best podcast I have heard! At one point when I wasn't caught up I listened to all the episodes from where I was to the newest episode only when I got to the latest episode did I realize I was a bit bummed that there was no more. Listening to this podcast brought me back to WoW and in a whole let me enjoy video games more and want to have more stories with friends. Professionalism and fun at its best you will not be dissapointed in this Podcast at all!!!
Love the show guys! Its where I get most of my WoW news! Harke-Undead DK- Kilrogg(Us) HORDE SIDE!
I absolutely look forward to listening to this podcast every week at work, but whats up with this week episode there is no ole' Coaltrain he is so awesome when he does his voice it crackes me up.
Thank you Scott, Dills and Turpster in continuing to keep and inspire the WoW fantasy dream for the player community and beyond. Al diel shala . . .
Thank you guys so much, always have interesting material. :) best way to spend time at work! Keep it up!
I've enjoyed the Instance for a long time now and I figured it was time to write a review. These guys are great! Even when I was unsubscribed from WoW, I still couldn't wait to download and hear about what's going on, their personalities only make this show better!
It's the only podcast I've ever listened to on purpose.
This is my favorite podcast because of the great host and informative content. I also enjoy most other shows on the Frogpants network. I can't wait for years to come of future episodes
Hands down, highest quality World of Warcraft podcast on iTunes
I have been listening to The Instance for years now and have decided it's time to give them some, well deserved, thanks. When Randy left to go to Blizzard I was al ittle worried that the show wouldn't be as good anymore but then Dills and Turpster were introduced and things have just got better from there. Scott and Dills are great but (being British myself but living in the USA) the show wouldn't be the same without Turpster. These guys have found a great way to have fun whilst informing us about all new and exciting issues in WoW. It stands way above the rest as far as gaming podcasts go and even if you are not a current WoW player you might want to give them a listen as they are pretty entertaining as well as informative. Hope you guys keep this great formula going for years to come and (as always) I look forward to hearing the next episode on Friday.
There's a high amount of production value that goes into this show, but it is just so boring. I feel like they don't spend enough time talking about the actual game, and when they do, they glaze over it. For example, I clicked on a show that listed discussion of why BC was the best expansion as a topic, but they spent about 15 seconds on the subject before moving on. I chose that one specifically because I wanted to hear disucssion of the actual game, but that's not their focus. They also have what I consider to be an obnoxious amount of ads for a podcast. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and some start and/or end with an ad, but during one episode, I heard two that just went on and on and on. Podcasts are so cheap that they don't really require that much advertising -- that's why just about anyone can do one. So coupled with the fact that the show isn't providing where it counts -- with in-depth discussion of the game -- it just feels boring. I see the other positive reviews on here, so a lot of other people seem to like it, but I listened to a few episodes and just couldn't get into it.
I don't even play WoW anymore, and I don't dare miss an episode.
I enjoy this show, I often quit wow then i listen to these guys and re sub. They should get a portion of my subscription k thanks.
When the hosts play off each other the way Scott, Dillz, and Turpster do how could it not be an awesome podcast!!
No person should ever play World of Warcraft without listening to this podcast. With its captivating hosts, delightful sound effects, and enough perfection to satisfy even the most pragmatic of critics; The Instance the most delightful addiction you'll never want to go to rehab for.
One of the best podcasts there is!
I haven't been playing WoW for a few months, and recently started listening to the Instance while working (graphic artist here, woot woot to Gerp!). I have been inspired to play WoW again after listening to everything I have been missing, so thanks for that! My work day flies by as well while I get my fullfillment of WoW and entertainment. Zednarr - Undead Destro Warlock - Norgannon-US
This is such a refreshing show. Very positive outlook on the games I have loved for years. It's nice to listen to such optimistic people critique and discuss video games. Thanks for the entertainment guys! Great work. PS you should cover some Tera content!
This is the best podcast ever if you don't like wow you should still like this. But it is the best wow podcast ever.
Started listening a few months back and was hooked instantly! Scott, Turpster, & Dills do such an amazing job covering the greatest game in the world and keeping players informed and updated on all things WoW! Keep it up guys, may you never leave the airwaves!! Kaseno-Prot Paladin: Illidan-US
I used to play World of Warcraft. I have a level 80 warrior tank that I truly miss and wish I was able to play. I unfortunately had my computer stolen and have not been in the financial situation to get the computer again that will run it properly. So I listen to your show. It is truly amazing and it really makes me feel like I am still part of the game. I really hope at some point I have the money to game again.
Best WoW podcast for news and updates. The hosts are entertaining and honest with their responses to current status of the game. The quality of the recordings makes it truly a joy to listen to.
The instance got me into podcasting (as a listener) and I have loved since I found it about 3 years ago. Great content delivered every week for WoW fans. Thanks for all of your hard work Scott, Dills and T.
Awesome show. We miss you Dills and Gerp. Mannibis
Makes my workday more enjoyable. Love these guys. Keep up the good work!
Fortune Cookie Say: This Great Podcast. FOR THE HORDE. Xysaerv US, Hyjal
Turpster 5 stars Scott Johnson 5 stars
The podcast that rules over all. 3 guys that keep my randomly laughing while at work. Please keep this podcast going. :) (monotone) HORDE SIDE!! Hodor....
I was actually impressed at the quality of the show. Usually podcasts just have a bunch of people recording their voices with horrible microphones and distracting background noise. These people take the quality seriously. They tend to get off topic but eventually come back to WoW. They do not have the latest news (occasionally they peak at MMO Champ while recording). Somehow they make up for it with synergy. Fair warning, like all real radio, they will pitch a product every once in a while.
I don't even play WoW anymore but I still tune in every week. I just love these guys' banter (pronounced the British way - BAN-TEH). Very professional, insightful and hilarious (still laughing at "you will get my junk in 3-4 business days"). T, seriously how are you so awesome and funny. Are you into Russian girls?
However.... + 100 for Turpster :D Great show guys. You keep me entertained during my work week. Couldn't do it without you!
Informative, humorous, witty, and intelligent. The perfect podcast for any mmo gamer.
This podcast makes me so happy that I feel like baby koala bears are crapping rainbows into my brain!! Really great work Scott, Dills and Turpster! Will always be a fan!
Better than conjured mana cakes!
I have been listening since the beginning, they do an amazing job and bringing you news / humor / rumors and just about anything else WoW related. They do a reallyi good job at being unbiased on subjects, and are just a great crowd to listen to.
This podcast is a very well done, informative, and just great overall.
Love me some Terpster!
I love this podcast! I just recently got caught up to the most recent episode, and I love the banter Scott, Dills, and Terpster get into. I'll listen to each episode while grinding mats or running LFR and it definitely helps to take the monotony out of these processes. And I get a few laughs in while I'm at it! Keep up the good work guys! Horde side!
This podcast runs at high rpms! Gets me primed!- ready!- JACKED! Finally a WoW podcast that'll put hair on your chest!
Amazing podcast, but how are the graphics?
These guys are número uno! I pay monthly for only this podcast, and so should you. HORDE-SIDE
First, I can't believe I didn't rate this podcast before now. I've been listening for several months now, and have enjoyed every single episode! The dynamic points of views provide a great range of thought provoking conversation that keeps me listening every second. Wonderful interviews really round out the content as well as the small tidbits at the end of each podcast. Thanks for a Great Show !
Proud to be Alliance. Thanks for putting out an amazing show! Are you guys ever going to discuss what we can do with the thousands of lesser charms we are getting from these dailies now??? This 50 a week only turn in......not cool Blizzard! *cough* rep tokens...
Ever since i started listening to this podcast ive had these problems of cheese flowing out of my ears when i sleep. Keep it up and ill send you some ear nachos!
Unfortunately, guys getting too repetitive and spouting personal political views in what was once the best WoW podcast available.
Thank you for a great podcast!
Love the show though?
Great podcast, very informative and incredibly entertaining. Anyone who enjoys WoW will be immediately Q'ed for "The Instance"!!!
Love the show! Pretty new to wow and only been listening for a few months and I'm addicted. Keep up the good work on keeping me informed and laughing!
A great podcast to listen to when your driving, drinking, dumping, or dishing out some top notch deeps… Ya thats right DEEPS! Keep it classy
Turpster has earned you 5 stars
Twice as good as the next leading Warcraft podcast with only half the calories.
Hey guys, been listening since the days of Randy Deluxe (I know that's not so long ago) and I've never left a review so I decided it was time. I'm one of those people who subs and unsubs often to MMOs but I always listen to The Instance even if I am not currently playing WoW (I am playing currently and having a blast so I'm one of the 8 million). Keep up the good work and tell Turpster he is a wind up merchant!
Move over George Takei! Scott, Dills, and Turpster are truely the masters of the internet. If you are looking for the Ultimate WoW podcast than look no further because you found it.
Scott, Dills and Turpster provide an entertaining and informative show every week! Turpster rocks, and his stories are hilarious. If you are looking for a wow podcast- start here!!
New to the podcast I am new to having a smartphone. You guys make my day just a whole lot better. I open a WholeFoods Market Seafood department almost 6 days a week and love to turn on your podcasts even older ones and just listen in while I get stuff done. Of course I wish you could make one 7 days a week but as we know it would get bland. Keep up the great work love what you are doing!.... sidenote I cannot stop calling my manager (will) willy dills haha... HORDE SIDE!
Love to listen to these guys while I play WoW, keeps me in the game. Great podcast, great voice men. Keep em coming!
Thank you Scott, Dills and Turpster for everything you do in making such a High Quality Podcast for WoW. Even so it is only updated weekly, I could listen to you guys everyday! Love the show keep up the great work! :)
love this podcast. Been playing since day one but have had to take a break do to life, rude right? anywho, currently planning on jumping back into it around the next patch. Keep it up because it allows me to have things to listen to while i work.
great podcast! for the horde! holytosh, troll priest
This is one of the greatest podcasts on itunes. I think of it as if it were a ship, the SS Instance if you will, its destination being world of warcraft. But in the deep seas they often fish up other things, for example other games similar to wow and sometimes not so simillar, the other day they were talking about Bioshock Infinite. Their opinions are awesome, and just the over all way they present their content is great. This is great for big fans of the Warcraft and even the Blizzard univeres, and still great for people who dont play wow that often. They have given me a new perspective on this game. LOK'TAR OGAR, FOR THE HORDE!!!!!!
I have just recently started playing and wanted to dive deep into the game and your podcast does excalty that. Great inside info and news on the game and blizzard Thank you Seated lvl 90 Blood Elf, BM Hunter (illidan) Pet's name PUPS
Love the show. Pretty new to the podcast but not to WoW. Keep up the great work guys.
All sorts of love y'all make my busy military life feel as if I played every day your dude (asharin on the the illidan server)
ilove u ilove u ilove u!!!!! even the brit guy!!!!!!
I think it maybe time to throw in the towel it gets old hearing how they really dont have time to play the game or one of the host not being there I get the feeling that the podcast is just holding on and there heart is really not in the game or the podcast anymore. It really might be time to throw in the towel, change it up or make it just a general gaming podcast. The podcast is still a good listen but expect more of a general all around gaming podcast then a warcraft focus. Imo the convert to raid warcraft podcast is the king of warcraft podcast.
I used to really like the show, when I realised that there was a WoW releated podcast. Then I realised there are many other and better podcasts, vodcasts, and general Blizzard related online media to be found that is far less Blizzard apologetic. In the latest episode, somehow the shows host manages to still find a way to say that Diablo III can be in any form, actually fun and not a complete and utter failure. I reccomend the material from gamebreaker.tv far more than these sicophants. They can't stop kissing blizzards arse long enough to actually speak of anything relevant. Considering how many people of theirs Blizzard has hired in the past, I think everyone on the show does nothing but aspire to be an apple polisher in Irvine themselves one day. Im sorry you three, but Blizzard is a Corporation. They do a lot wrong, especially with WoW. Yes, WoW is still the best MMORPG but the reaches you will go to in order to portray Blizzard as a can do no wrong entity, is sickening, appalling, and a little unnerving. As a listener since the days of Patrick, throughout Randy, I am done. There is better out there.
Love the show guys. I threw in the WoW towel back in 2007 a few months after BC came out because I graduated from college, got a job and thought I would try being a "grown-up". About a month ago I decided jobs and grown ups are boring, so I thought I'd poke around WoW again. As an avid podcast listener of all types I knew there had to be a WoWcast and came across the instance. Lets just say I am now back in full force, I've bombed through about 90 episodes, made myself an undead warlock and i'm loving the game all over again. Thanks to you three I have been able to fend off the eye rolls from my girlfriend and I'm having a ball. Thanks for helping to lead me back.
Keep up the great entertainment! I must listen to this podcast every week! oh and Turpster has a sexy voice!
...The Instance enhances my enjoyment and understanding of WoW on SO many levels, particularly my sense of community. Work frequently takes me away from the game for long stretches, but Scott and all his awesome co-hosts help me feel connected to my ingame family even when I can't log into Azeroth.
If you love playing WoW then you will love this podcast. Keeps you informed and excited about whats going on and coming up in World of Warcraft news. Look forward to it every week.
Scott, Turpster, and Dillz. The best STD you'd ever want in your Ears
Love the show and by far the best wow podcast out.
I currently have 5 WOW subscriptions and this is by far the best Podcast out there a must have!!!
Been listening to the show for about 5 months now really enjoy you guys. Keep up the good job. Feathermoon Alliance
I love listening to this show in the car when ever there is a new episode out, because I have to drive for a quite a while for most days. So it's really enjoyable to listen to bunch of real cool guys talk World of Warcraft and side track a little. The only bad thing I can say about listening to this show in the car is that it may make you a danger to other drivers around you, because you will be laughing so much! Thanks for being cool guys (Scott, Tirpster, and Dills) and making a good show! -James
Nothing else to say, have some 5 star love.
These guys rock! I haven't played World of Warcraft in years, but I've kept listening to the show because it's just that good. Keep up the good work and hilarious commentary!
Epic show, everyone who likes wow should listen to this!
Got behind on podcasts after my dad's death - just listened to a marathon of the instance. Just keeps getting better and better. Always love Turpster. Have since I heard him the first time on wow insider. I can't believe he brought up the skinning bears in the last podcast! It was the line that caught me my husband we met on wow and a vent server! What a coincidence or co-inki-dink. Love you guys. Thanks for the laughs!
Listen to you guys religiously! I look forward to this every single week, always putting out the latest and greatest in news. Keep up the great work guys!
Title says it all this is the best wow podcast out there by far! From Cthugha / windrunner
Scott is by far the best WoW podcast lead out there. I love this pdocast, but I feel, and maybe this is just due to the fact that the game is so old, the podcast is losing steam. The inconsistant co-host line up is dissappointing, but I understand real life gets in the way. Good time though, and I highly recomend adding this to anyones weekely podcast routine.
Thanks for all good info. Keep up the good work. From Jed in So Cal discon was fun hope to see you all the this year!
if you want to hear real wow new goto convert to raid outstanding new for wow or you can set a hear bizzard bla bla bla.for an hour. not a troll just the real truth. sad but true
Wow, no pun intended but really, I need to thank you Scott, Dills, and Terpster for doing these weekly casts. I wash dishes at a restaurant and if I didn't have something like this to listen to I don't know what would happen. Here to another 300 eps!
Just keeps getting better! Like the changes in music, art, and content. Keep it up u 3.
A very nice podcast to get information on anything Blizzard and World of Warcraft.
This show is the ultimate in WoW podcasts! Highly entertaining, informative, and the conversation style makes you feel like you're hanging out with the guys. Great stuff! Dills for new manager of SF Giants!
It's hands down the best WoW podcast out there. The only complaint I have is there is sometimes way too much chatter and not enough news and informative topics. Small complaint, but worth 5 stars!
Love to listen every week, the guys keep me entertained during the daily grinds of wow!!!
Great podcast, top quality, good pacing. The_T can have my panties.
Really perks up my Fridays or those long road trips where I listen to 4 or 5 episodes at a time. Always entertaining and never inaccessible to more casual players.
This podcast is entertaining and legitimately helpful. I appreciate the time you guys devote to your fans, cheers!
Listen to the show every week pimp show
I've been listening to Scott and Co. for a few weeks now. These guys are nothing less then perfection! Very informative, and IMO better than usual Talk Radio. Great podcast for the latest news, info, tips and etc! I always listen to them while i'm grinding away on the path to 90! Thanks always for the entertainment!
This is not only the best WOW podcast it is the best podcast. Keep up the fantastic job Dills, TURPSTER and yes you too Scott!!
Hay ya'll I've been listening to this pod cast for a cupel of years now and every time I listen I replay it to listen again because this podcast is the best and turpster is not only liked in the UK and this is for turpster: man you should be a comedian I mean it. And I can't wait tell you hit 400 episodes
An old Chinese man once asked me, "If you were a vegan animal rights activist stranded on an island and forced to eat cute squirrels to survive, what sauce would you use to make the experience less horrific?" "The best sauce, of course," I said, "The Instance."
It's slowly dragged down. turpster is still great to hear but you guys need to rethink how you interact with the community & what role you serve within it. Now before the trolling accusations start flying, consider it: you guys are kind of acting like ego maniacs lately and it just grinds your listeners down. Anyone who feels the same as me, go check out tauren thinktank, a podcast that actually cares about the player. I'm out of here, Scott.
This show is very in formative and help great tips and pointers.
Me like podcast. Me like warcraft. Me like podcast with warcraft. This podcast best podcast. You no like you dumb.
I'm a man of few words , unless I've been drinking....which I haven't today so ill just say GREAT PODCAST GUYS! enjoy listening take care
The Instance is one of my favorite podcast show and there's a reason why. The crew are always informative, entertaining and honest which made me fall in love (no homo). This is the only World of Warcraft podcast show I'll ever need. Keep up the fantastic work, guys. For the Horde!
These guys put on a very entertaining and informative 'cast. This is the one I DON'T delete when my phone's running out of space. A fun way to learn some Blizzard stuff without spending all your time combing forums. Also found great Mumble hosting on their advice, and other good sites and 'casts from featured bits they put on the end of the show. Check it out live too!
I haven't played WoW in a couple of years but it's good to see you guys are still going strong. After listening, I think the bug to play my be back. Thanks and Great show!
Feeds my WoW addiction while I work... I design jewelry and sometimes I blow off work to play WoW. Now, I can get my fix while making sparkly things. Just discovered you guys two days ago and I've already done 6 shows. Thanks for being both informative AND entertaining.
Frog pants must be wearing big boy pants because this podcast is amazing. Love the show, keep up the great work. @Skyder_WoW
Sounds like a professional Talk show more than a free podcast. As someone who left the game for 4 years and came back for MoP, I learned a lot form the show about the game and MoP in particular. My clearing house for game info is definitly the Instance and their network of Podcasts.
I was happy to see that you guys are still going! I used to listen weekly about 3 years ago but I stopped listening to podcasts all together. When I started again I had expected you guys to be gone, but I was happily surprised. You guys always deliver a quality and fun listening experience. You have relit my interest in burying myself in everything WOW. Thank you for what you do!
Really love listening to these guys. Great interviews, awesome info, incredible fun!! Keep up the awesome job!!
Best WoW podcast in existence, I would rate it 6 stars if I could! Keep up the good work.
Hey Guys Great shows! Been listening since 215. Love the show, Keep it up!
My first review was way back when it was just Scott and Randy and isn't really relevant anymore. The show has simply improved with time, and no offense to Randy Jordan, it has improved with the line up. The synergy between the producer, Scott, and his two companions, Turpster and Dills, is precious. I listen to other WoW podscasts for specific purposes, but if I had to listen to only one, this would be it. I no longer think of these guys as podcasters, but as my friends, as I have probably spent more quality time with them than with most of my real friends in recent years. Please don't ever stop!
Hey guys love your show keep up the good work Abdullah from saudi arabia
Never a dull moment, love this show Your better that "LOG" from Blam-O
I have just recently gotten back into 1. WoW and 2. podcasts. My old "go to" podcast back in the day was Diggnation. These guys are funny, entertaining and informative. Go check outr all of Scott's other podcasts. i reccommend The Morning Stream!
I love the show. I've been playing wow since I was about 7 (in 2nd grade) since release and I've been playing for like 8 years and am now a freshman in highschool I was just thinking "wow I've been playing this game for a long time and have not 10, not 11 but a single level 90 dk and a level 85 shaman" it kinda depresses me but I miss the child like joy I used to have when it was "woah, I can make it rain fire I'm invincible" not the "oh I have another rep to grind" I was thinking that every kid should play wow because it was just an amazing part of my childhood. Thanks guys for making my weeks awesome. -Zach
Love this show. Good sound quality, educated and interested hosts. British cohost... Can't go wrong. If your looking for an even helping of nerdlyness and World of Warcraft news lore and fan input this is the best source in podcast form!
Best wow podcast I've listened to. Enjoy listening to you guys every week. Keep up the good work
An wonderful Warcraft podcast. Great news and hosts. Always hilarious. Listening is the best part of my workday! -Daelfreya, Legacy of Pain, Uther.
I don't even play wow anymore but these guys are so entertaining! Funny and relaxed hosts who never take their love super seriously. Recommended for all fans of Blizzard fans especially
Been listening for two and a half years now. Never missed an eposide. Simply amazing.
Fun perspectives on a game I've played for years. Turp is a fun character but works way too hard to not let people know that he really is the normal, actually realistic person Dills. Stop watching Russell Brand movies Dills. Sarah Marshal was ok but pick an actual funny Brit. Maybe a Mr. Bean. Just Kidding! Love you Turp.
A couple of years ago when I first sought out a Warcraft related podcast, I downloaded two different shows. One was The Instance, the other was a show with a name I can't remember but I'll never forget how the host was in the process of rage quitting WoW over his hatred of the RealID system Blizzard was implementing at the time. After about 5 minutes of the whiny rage quit podcast, I checked out The Instance and I've been hooked ever since. I spent 20 years in commercial radio and Scott Johnson and his crew produce not just an excellent Warcraft podcast, but a compelling and highly entertaining show which rivals any talk radio show out there. I now listen to some of the other shows on the Frog Pants network and you should consider doing so too. Keep up the great work guys, I really enjoy everything you guys do.
A once great show is now 90 percent random chit chat and 10 percent wow.
Entertaining radio style podcast with great info. Fun listen.
The instance is a awesome podcast. I used to play everyday pvp and raiding, now I have my wife and kids also my friends are deployed to Afghanistan. The Instance has been awesome to listen to since I can't talk with my friends about wow. They put out good info about raiding and other wow related things. Keep up the good work guys.
It's a darn good, clean WoW podcast that proves to be very informative, up to date, and offers great tips on raiding and other game mechanics.
5 star rating for racist asian intro!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing show, even better when Turpster is actually there.
New listener and I was not a raider before listening to the show. Scott, Da Britt, and d-money are brilliant. This show has eased me into this fantastic aspect of the game and helped every step of the day. Even more this show introduced me the mediocre golf league and I am starting a new chapter in my town. The production value of the show is phenomenal. I particularly like the episodes with blizzard employees and all of the predictions of the future of the game made by the crew. Give me a shout out on the show!
Great WoW podcast. Scott, Dills and Turpster always make me laugh. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Btw, I'm convinced Dills and Turpster are the same person, like Michael and Latoya...
Show is simply amazing. It has all the entertainment and information i want from a wow podcast. Keep up the good work guys!
I have been listening to the Instance since 2006 and it has always been a fantastic, informative listen. Scott and company do a good job at carrying a conversation and making the audience feel like they are part of a group of friends who all like to play WoW. (The same can be said for the AIE guild that is attached to the podcast.) Thank you guys, congrats on 300 and I cant wait for #1000!
When I first started listening to these guys, I almost expected this elitist crew of guys espousing their strategies and attempting to teach us non-noob ways. I was pleasantly surprised to find a completely different outlook from them. They are just regular everyday guys and enjoy playing and talking about the news surrounding their favorites of Blizzard. I have not missed an episode since, and look forward to their humor and WoW outlooks every week. Keep up the great job guys! Love it!
The instance is a great produced show as are all other show's on the frogpant's network. As there are different types of play styles I don't think Dill's and Scott's opinion's on play styles alway match the core listener ship (Not everyone raids, and not everyone gets to see all the content that requires groups). That being said Terpster add's the element of realism to the show in that, while I can't see raid 10 or 25 man stuff often, it does not stop me from understanding lore and getting involved in more casual tid bits. The show also offers great opinions on the games community and delievers valualbe information where there is other wise forum troll's . Now for the reason I made the review, it is to tell everyone that clearly the lack of insight into the super bowl and rooting for the 49's in episode 307, made me pause the episode, but it clearly is not enough to change how much I love this podcast.
Aloha Guys, I always make sure an load up your podcasts when travel to the mainland or international. Your news, insights and sometimes just yammering are enjoyable to listen to on long flights. Plus, I tell my wife that it helps me play the game better! (I don't think she believes me.) Mahalo Thanatologis from Kaneohe Hawaii
I love listening its awesome
It doesnt sound like you guys want to continue doing this.. it used to be fun now it sounds like you are just 2 people come in and read highlights about a game they dont even play.
I cant wait for the next one!! This is the best podcast of any podcast. Please dont ever leave me!!
One of my firends introduced me to The Instance, and I could nt be happier, I always look forward to your show, thank you for everything you do and keep up the great work!
I've listened to a few other podcasts but only subscribed to one. This is the best by far. Keep up the awesome work.
Highly entertaining and informative. Whether you're just getting into wow or an old hat I defy you to not enjoy this podcast. Turpster for Mr universe!
Always have such a blast listening to the three of them talking about WoW and going off on random things. Great fun to listen to while playing the game and keeps me interested in the game. Keep up the good work.
I love this show!!! I have recommended it to all of my friends. Please Scott, Dills, and The_T keep them coming !!!! Thank you in advance.
Such powerful aural pleasures can not be legal, yet each time I hear this podcast my I brought to tears by the hosts. Not sure if it is of pleasure, dispair, or just outright laughter. Thanks to Scoot, Pickleman, and Da Brit for all the fun each week. May your tank hold aggro and may the healer not nap during the raid.
i love the show i have a 45 min. bus ride to school and the instance helps a lot.
What could posses 7,000 individuals to lie about the quality of one podcast? Nothing - so go listen to the show, the people don't lie, it is superb.
All i can say is this is a great podcast. And I love the show.
I always enjoy listening to The Instance while playing so I can know what to except in the near future! They always have the latest news, tips, and tricks with some sarcasm thrown in there as well! At first I thought they worked for Blizzard because they know everything! Blizzard, pay these men, now! thanks guys!
It has been a little while since I have been able to play wow thanks to other obligations, but I still love to listen. The show is well put together and the hosts are too funny! Keep up the good work...and thank you for helping to fill a void while I'm not able to get in and play!! P.S. I think Blizzard needs to add in Gerp's not so perfect arrow. Just to make people feel they got close, but still aren't quite as good as they could be!
I just wanted to let you guys know what an amazing job your doing. Your show is very entertaining and never gets boring. Scott is a funny man and know the right amount of entertainment and information to make the listeners stay a true fan. Turpster is also a very funny man and contributes a lot to the show as well. And last but not least Dills is an awesome dude and knows the perfect amount of being funny and serious. Love you all and continue making EPIC shows.
The whole crew always makes my week just a little bit better and reminds me what a great game WoW is! Keep it up!
I listen to the instance all the time I can not wait fir each weeks episode
Nothing arouses me quite to much as this tantalizing podcast.
I don't really listen to podcasts, but the instance is one that I listen to on a regular basis. Great quality, people and content!! You guys deserve more than 5 stars!
That is all. Thank you.
Its not just the team's rapport, which rivals most morning commute radio squawkers, but the whole production. It is professional, well directed, and although recorded live, still has the polish that so so many podcasts on wow and mmo's completely lack. These guys should be on television, and if you see some of them move to radio or tv don't be surprised.
Ive been listening for a few weeks, since right before MoP hit and I must say Thank You! You guys keep me company while Im doing my dailies and it kinda helps pass the time faster so with that said....Thank you again! For forward to many many more shows!
I have been listening to the instance for over a year now. After playing WoW for 4 years, I am leaving Azeroth for more family time and to play real life for a while, but I will continue to listen to the instance every week, that's how awesome it is! Plus, Turpster fulfills my naughty English boy fantasy quota - no girl wants to give that up ;)
Ive listened to The Instance for a long time now it is my absolute favorite podcast i listen everyweek and tune in to the live stream when i can. Scott and the guys are always funny and very informative.
I listen you all every week. The Instance is the BEST World of Warcraft podcast!
This podcast is an amazing blend of comedy and geekiness. Listening to the Instance makes me laugh so hard at work that sometimes I nearly pee my pants. It also convinced me to come back to WoW after quitting in Wrath. Just wish Turpster would show up all the time! Otherwise the hunter talk drags on a bit. :) Love the show, guys. Please keep making these for a long, long time.
Stumbeld back into WOW just prior to Mists after being an early WOW player...I needed something to bring me up to speed and this podcast has been an absolute God send...Thanks Scott et al for the hours and hours of AMAZING Edutainment! Loigan DK Horde - DarkMatter Guild~ Alterac Mountains
If you like WoW, and you like podcasts, and you're NOT listening to this show, then something might be wrong with you. Best WoW podcast I've had the pleasure of listening to, thanks guy for your amazing show.
What I enjoy most about this podcast is that I get some great insight into the changing WOW environment without the pompous self-important grandstanding of other WOW podcasts. Its humorous, a fun listen, and I look forward to ever episode.
The Instance is my forever show. Look no further for the most legit podcast about WoW and gaming in general.
If you play the game, you should listen to this podcast.
I'm new to wow in general and I learn so much from you guys and you always keep me laughing.. Thank you so much and keep up the great work
You guys are the best podcast I've heard to date!!!! You make my weekend Everytime!!! Turp! Come back!!! Stop drinking so much that you can't come on all the time!!! You guys are awesome keep up the good work!
I've been listening for years now, even when I've taken much needed breaks from the game, and this podcast has consistently been informative, entertaining, and has fueled my passion for MMO's in general. Thanks to all of you!
I think that the mixture of these three guys comedy, serious passion for World of Warcraft have brought me so much closer and back into the game from before. I Have been going back and listening to old episodes and its been great. Definitely should listen to this if you like World of Warcraft.
Thanks for all the lols.
This is the best podcast ever, by far! Thanks guys for making such an awesome podcast! I listen to it all the time in art class which gets awkward when I burst out laughing in the middle of class... Everyone should listen to The Instance! You will love Scott, Dills, and even Turpster!
The podcast that entertains and informs the WoW player-- like us! Big thanks to past and current co-hosts, special thanks to Scott!
Thanks so much for the great show! was away for awhile but came back for mop cause of all the stuff you guys talked about.
Hey Guys, Cycnus on the Zul'jin server here. I wanted to say thank you for keeping at this for so long. You really help a lot. I recently started picking up this show again because in trying to get more hardcore into the game. You guys definitely boost my knowledge on how to go about things and it's great to hear advice from two great hunters since I'm a hunter (sorry Terp). Keep up the good work and I hope this podcast is going for years to come
I started listening to this podcast over the summer and have been loving every minute of it. It really got me back into WoW after hearing all of the great things that I have missed and loved and not back into it. I Thank this podcast for pulling my addiction back into this great MMO. Me and my warlock Necruel will be enjoying many adventures on the island of Pandria. Wish you all luck on making 100 more episodes and hopefully more than that.
Great podcast! You fulfill my life. Legit....
Been playing off and on for about a year, and continuously listen to this podcast for moral support, advice, and WOW news. When I find myself getting frustrated trying to grind a couple of toons to 90, The Instance keeps me motivated.
Great podcast Scott, Terp, and Dills play well off each other, and have a good time while talking about wow. Great to keep you awake on those long morning drives.
I've listened to a LOT of WoW-related podcasts over the last few years, and The Instance is by far the best in town. The podcasts combines news, discussion, and tips and tricks from the hosts and members of the Frogpants/AIE community. If you want to know what new content/changes/etc are coming, or just want to know why Blizzard "nerved" your class, this is the place to find out.
Love the podcast! I had subscribed to 5 other WOW podcasts but this is the only one I still, faithfully, listen too. Good job guys!
Been listening since cata keep it up!
I started listening back when I was starting my first semester of college and you guys have helped me get through many stressful nights and allowed me to not only revive my love for WoW (started in 2007) but also allowed me to finally start doing the real content outside of BG and arena and I had gained such a newfound appreciation for this kind of content in MoP from listening to you guys. Keep up the great work and I love the show!
Been listening since the very beginning. Awesome show!!
Scott's voice is like a big, pillowed mattress that I can't wait to sink into each week.
The only podcast this strapping young lad listens to. Sign my bra!
Great fun to listen to while I drive. For all thing wow & what ever else comes to Turpsters mind. Like my kid he has ADLS (attention deficit...LOOK SHINY!!
300 Episodes and it still goes down smooth. The CTR guys are right, it's good to put your stuff in our ears.
I first heard of the Instance from my brother about 2 months ago, and I love it. The talk with Russel Brouwer (probably slaughtered his name) was great. So cool to hear from someone who works on the game.
Scott, Dills and Turpster guide you through the cake of this week's WoW, without making you read every blue post or data-miner's forum, and do so with the flavor of their own perspectives, the filling of their experiences, and a nice frosting of funny. Is it a cupcake? Is it a doughnut? No: it's the Instance. -Mack (IF you are a podcaster, AND, you ask for ratings and reviews, PLEASE support the community, rate and review the podcasts that you listen to! –[email protected] CarpeGM.net)
The amount of entertaining commentary and discussion are truly immersive. I love listening to these guys, they surely highlight my day with good positive vibes. Thank you guys for making this happen.
If you are looking for the best wow podcast look no further./gratz on 300 episodes!
You guys are not only my favorite WoW podcast, but you were also the very first podcast I listened to ever! Love the show!!! Klaww - Worgen DK Tank Zangarmarsh - Alliance
Scott, Dills and Turpster have developed into friends that I've never even met. They bring joy, fun and intellect to this wonderful game! I always look forward to listening to them Saturday mornings when I walk my dog! ;) Also, UTAH connection here!! For the HORDE!
This podcast has enlightened me so much on my gameplay, the lore, upcoming events and new encounters; you have truly enhanced my wow experience. Also, as a commuting listener, the laughs I get from the turpster start my work day off right. Keep up the great work guys!
Actually yes i would love to bother you…with all of my praise for such a great podcast with loads of information, and the complete nonsense that makes me laugh until i cry. You guys make leveling and grinding so much easier. I always have The Instance playing in the background while leveling new toons. Thank you for making such a great podcast!!!!
I am 10 years old and love playing WOW with my dad. I like the Instance very much and listen to it with my dad every week My main character is a Blood Elf Hunter named Sylelor Level 86 Hunter from Smolderthorn Sylelor FOR THE HORDE!
Great show guys! As an Alliance player I always enjoy listening to the description of some of the lore from the Horde perspective, kind of has me wanting to faction change one toon just to see MoP from that side of things.
Scojo = Legendary. Dils = Epic. Turpster = Rare. Show = Awesome. (Any resemblance to rankings systems in WoW is purely coincidental as we all know The_T is the best....just kidding, love em all. Great show. When can Randy Deluxe (=Vanilla) come back and make a guest appearance?!??!)
Glad yo eye is better Scott enjoy it I had the same surgery one year ago
I am a former listener from back in the BC, just wanted to say I'm back to try out some panda rip and get back in to the game. Just happy to see this podcast still going strong and I have you guys in my ear while I am working in finance in Santiago chile. Keep up the great podcast!
Thank you guys for keeping me informed on the happenings of Wow while Im overseas. Its great to hear whats going on. Cant wait to get back to the states to get back to playihg. From Afghanistan keep up the great work! Great coverage of all aspects of wow with whitty jokes and conversations of other world events. Great Crew and Great Podcast! Thank you again. Hellak "Hell To Pay" Crushridge
I'm seriously addicted to this show. It is by far the most entertaining, layman WoW podcast on the market. The Turpster is hilarious, I can't get enough. Scott manages the show's flow masterfully. Dills brings insightful in-game knowledge in an unobtrusive manner. Keep up the great work, you all make it seem effortless. Terrific show! -Hardvaark Level 90 Tauren Hunter Fear the Ginger Lightninghoof
Best WOW podcast it tells you a lot about wow and much more! If you guys could let me I would like to donate thanks. You guys really brought me back into wow and I appreciate it thanks. Fahi shaman pandaren chogall relm

Great 'cast. The three hosts play well off each other and it's always funny, informative, and fun. Thanks for the great show, guys! PS. I'm not a hunter, but I still enjoy "Hunter Talk" everytime, so don't worry about that.
Love the show keep em coming!
Been listening since 295 and absolutely love the show. Gibsonfire from burning blade undead hunter
Scott, Turpster and Dills..... you guys keep me excited about WoW. Thanks for keeping the podcasting community together. And love frog pants studios!
Excellent podcast! Scott, Dills, and the Geico gecko do a great job keeping everyone informed on the lastest news and notes from the World of Warcraft. Highly recommended! Almost better than a bowl of slightly melted chocolate ice cream with fudge topping!
Best Warcraft podcast in all of the world and the universe. I even enjoy the Euro dude so thanks for your dedication to a great podcast.
Great show guys! Love the fun, love the laughs! -Colosys lvl85 Ret. Paladin on Arathor
Fantastic show that has found a new grove in the post Randy era. I don't even play WoW anymore yet I still love the show.
...Just kidding! Thanks for draining my phone battery every week.
We are all addicted to World of Warcraft. They do an excellent job of discussing the news, tips, tricks, opinions, interviews, etc. Scott, Turpster, & Dills are the best! Keep rock'n!
Absolutely lovelovelove this podcast! All three of these guys are knowledgable about not only WoW but the world of MMO's in general. They're informative, entertaining, intelligent, and well-spoken. They've got a great show format and talk about things I'm interested in and concerned with, even when things get tangential. A great listen for my morning commute, can't stop streaming. Keep up the good work guys!! :)
I've been listening on and off since early Burning Crusade, I even rolled on Horde Earthen Ring because of this show. Its been going on for so long, with so many awesome hosts, thanks for all the hard work guys! -Lucem 83 BElf pally - Earthen Ring
Started listening to podcasts end of cata to keep up with the game. Haven't played since 4.1, the way you guys talk about MoP makes me wanna return. Also looking to buy a new rig...........doghouse systems it is!!!! Thx for all the good work guys and keep it up.
Scott, Dills, and Turpster, love your show! I have been tuning in since the beginnging, and I can't wait to see what the 300th episode will bring. Thanks for all of the time you put into your episodes!
The problem with WoW podscasts to me is the inevitiable hateability of the cast. Whether it's too much QQing or an elitest attitude, there's always something that becomes annoying about the hosts. Not the case with this show. All the regulars seem like down to earth honest people who have fun talking about WoW. I keep listening even when i take breaks from Wow so what does that tell you?
Great show! These guys have some great chemistry. While personally I don't agree with everything they say (especially being an Alliance player myself), one can certainly appreciate the views and insight they give. Been a fun listen while I'm currently unable to play the game, but it certainly makes me miss it. Especially with MoP still being fairly recent.
Awesome podcast, but when, O great and mighty Scott Johnson, will you do Hypothetical Help again? (Or will you ever do it?) I NEED TO KNOW!!!
Good chemistry between the hosts and they cover the latest news and features of World of Warcraft generally pretty well. The co-host (one of the three) from England tends to be the most balanced of the hosts able to convey the plusses and minuses of game feature changes. The downside (if your Alliance) or upside (if you are Horde) is they are strongly oriented to the Horde faction experience in the game. The podcast logo -> Horde. The intro theme -> Horde. The bumper audio -> Horde. Their take on how game changes affect a faction -> focused on Horde faction. End of show mini-segments (when a faction can be identified) -> Horde. The associated guild in game -> Horde. Even for world events and expansion releases, where all it would take is 30 min or less playing an alliance character to get a handle on the basic differences between the two factions to better serve the listening audience, is not worth the trouble to do by the hosts. However if Turpster ( the English co-host who came from an Alliance faction background) is on, he will tend to speak for the alliance faction, thank goodness, but even he is now playing horde faction. The Instance podcast... For the Horde!
Stumbled onto your podcast last week and really enjoyed it! I am a casual player but hopelessly addicted these last 5 years lol. Love all the great info and humor! Keep up the awesome fun!!
This show is amazing! I recently got back into wow and was lookin for pod casts to pass the time at work. Stumbled on to this and listened for 8 hours straight! Great topics great people great show! Keep it up! Ps toasters...
I met him at last years Blizzcon, and after a night of heavy lovemaking he left me with something I will have for life. Aids
Gentlemen of the Instance, this show ROCKS! I just found this show, and I've hopped in my timemachine to listen to them in descending order (which is actually hilarious/sad). I was in the car the other day, and thinking to myself, "Hey, Podcasts are cool. WoW is fun. I wonder ..." Sure enough there you were. I listened to show 294, my first listen, and immediately got hooked. Not only does it help with my hr long commute, but it really provides some great insight into blizzard/wow/other MMOs. In all seriousness, you have a great product here keep up the good work!
I thoroughly enjoy this show. Its informative and entertaining. Even during my year off from WoW I still listened to the show purely for the entertainment value. These guys are brilliant!
Great show guys. Keep up the good work.
I stopped playing years ago, but listen every week to keep up on the news. It's the best wow podcast I've ever listened to, though it's also the only one.
While I play WoW I listen to these guys talk about WoW, and after listening to 4 podcasts in a row I realized I had gone up 12 levels (53 to 65). I swear these guys have some formula that they have prepared right before they do a show, and I think it makes it all the better. After I heard Randy was going to be leaving the show I kind of thought I would stop listening, but not when I heard that TURPSTER WOULD BE ON THE INSTANCE AS A HOST??!!! I was literally punching the air after I heard that, while I loved Randy I had never laughed so hard as when you guys first had the T on the show. Turpster keeps me laughing, Dills is also funny but informative, but the almighty Jedi Podcaster Scott Johnson himself is what makes listening to these great. I love all you guys and I listen to all your podcasts, except Torturecast (sorry Dills) and I hope you guys will keep the good stuff coming!! Scarflame from Skywall
This is MarsWolf from the Azurmyst server. You guys crack me up and I can't wait to find my own Gerps Perfect Arrow! Great show tons of information and awesome contests. Hunters FTW!
just started playing wow with mists of pandaria and went looking for a podcast. Found this off the search and listened to the newest episode and loved it, very proffesional and fun have been listening to a ton of older episodes in between the new ones and i just cant praise it enough highly recomend it.
I have been listening to you guys since episode 30 and I am just amazed how the content is always fresh. I have finally transferred one of my toons to your server and plan to apply for a membership on November 1st. I hope to make the cut and finally be part of the best guild in wow. Keep up the great work guys.
Love this show, been listening for over 2 years. I love looking forward to this show for the weekend... Scott, terps & dills , keep it up , what you do really does provide a ton of fun listening for so many people. I for one really appreciate the effort.
But I keep listening to The Instance because I find it wildly entertaining and a way to play WoW vicariously through these guys.
You guys do a great job on informing us on the game and entertaining us listeners. Keep up the good work.
I've been a fan of "The Instance" for many years. I took a break during Cata, and was sad to see that Randy Deluxe is no longer with the show when I started listening again. I really think Terpster is a fantastic replacement for Randy, this is by far one of the best podcast out there. Go Tigers! lol
Love the Instance! This review brought to you by the Cincinnati Reds! Whattup NOW DILLS?!
the only real probem i have with this podcast is that it only updates once a week! funny hosts, grate talks, and information that you may not always know! one of the best podcasts out there! Highly recomended!
Guys, I Have a long commute of 3.5 hours on Friday, and I listen to your podcast every week. Thank you kindly for giving the gaming community a plethora of relevant warcraft news and personal experiences. Congrats on the upcoming 300th episode, and I'm hoping to hear 300 more. Spaceball - area 52, lethality guild
These guys always have me laughing my butt off, while learning a thing or two about what's going on in the World of Warcraft. Keep it up guys!
If it weren't for this broadcast I would go insane at work!!!! Because of this podcast I can retain my sanity while chaos surrounds me and I am doing the more mundane and boring tasks assigned to me for that day. Endlessly entertaining and informative, I get to escape my work life and dream about Azeroth. Thank you Scott, Dils, and Terpstra!!!
This podcast is an awesome addition to my weekly podcast roundup. The 3 hosts just click in a very good mesh of comedy, information, and audio entertainment. Im on a latin wow server and even though its a spanish speaking communty theres quite a ffew bilinguals that listen to this cast. Great job guys, Holla!!!
Anyone who rates this less than 5 stars was dropped as a child and hit on the head recently.
Having hosted my own WoW podcast and then going on hiatus and coming back, I know how much work goes into putting together a quality show. The Instance has been the model of consistency that I applaud. This show is solid week in and week out and has great production. Even after Randy left and Dills and Turpster became full time hosts the show has stayed strong. Kudos to The Instance and Scott for the years of work in putting together such a high quality show.
Just love the show I watch it almost everday you guys are awesome.
Great podcast, really the only one I listen too atm. I've been around since vanilla and I love when they compare todays wow to present wow. The one thing I love about this podcast is there love for the game, you can really tell they love the game and that's why they are making this show. I've been through a lot with wow, crazy hours from Vanilla through wrath and now the more casual gamer. One thing remains, even if I'm taking a break from wow I still love to tune-in and listen to these guys. One more thing, Turpster's great! I love listening to him. He always makes me laugh. I'm sure this shootout will also help his inflated ego which makes me love the guy even more. hahaha
Great podcast about the goings on in the World of Warcraft. Weekly news, events and contests that keep me entertained on the commute to work.
Simply the best WOW related podcast out there. So entertaining that I listen to it even while on breaks from WOW. Coming back to wow for MOP i find is even more entertaining and pertinent than ever. Wuggly, New member of AIE
Thanks Scott, Dills and Turpster for keeping me company each week on my commute. Your podcast is so entertaining that I continued to listen to the show for the several months long break I took from WoW! Keep it up!
Great show, great hosts If you love world of warcraft you need to add this into your playlists.
I have to say I've been playing wow since vanilla but only recently discovered the instance! This is a lot of fun as I commute to my job to listen to these guys. The discussions are engaging and hilarious Keep it up fellas I am a big fan and I'm all about being horde!
THese guys rock! they offer a real player's eye view of the game world as well as info from B;izzard itself. Good stuff!
This and every other show on the frog pants network are the reason I can no longer take my earbuds out... Ever! Scott, dills, turpster please never stop doing what you do.
I have to agree Dills....the only downside to this podcast is that you are a Giants fan...but no one is perfect. Long time dodger fan.
I've recently come back to WoW after some time off, though I played quite consistently in the Vanilla-BC days as well as throughout Wrath. As part of my return to the game I wanted to find a good podcast to help pass the time commuting to and from work. The Instance has quickly become my go-to podcast for WoW information. All of the shows I've listened to have been fantastic with a great mix of news, interviews, and great banter between the hosts. Scott, Dills, and Turpster are fantastic to listen to. Turpster's impression of a soul-starved Bobby Kotick nearly made me drive off the road from laughing so hard. On top of the great information, thoughtful commentary, and general merriment, this is a slick and well-produced podcast. These guys obviously take what they are doing seriously and the presentation reflects this. The show sounds professional and it is clear how much time and effort goes into it. The podcast has helped me get back into the game and has provided me with lots of entertainment. Highly recommended. Keep up the great work guys!
I love listening to these guys. I got my CBRN unit listening and even got my LT to listen. Keep up the good work guys! SPC Christian 370th Chemical Unit Norman, OK
The instance is truely a unique and rare find these days. A podcast with dedicated people continually doing the show is rare, and even harder to find in the gaming world. Scotch, Turpintine, and Drambui all take time out of their busy lives to provide the World of Warcraft community with an amazing show. The instance is the cat's pajamas in all of the World of Warcraft podcasts. Thanks for all of your time guys.
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away.. Scott Johnson destroyed all other WOW podcast with the Instance’s greatness.
It's nice to listen to a well done, professional sounding podcast where the people doing it just love the subject matter. Even though they don't always agree with what is happening in game or like what's going on, or I may not always agree with an opinion given by them, they don't pretend to be much more than 2 guys and a limey brit that enjoy all things Warcraft (and other games mentioned). It reminds me of conversations I have had with friends, and has become a regular listen for me. Keep up the great work guys, enjoying the show!
This podcast got me interested in podcasts. Always funny, informitive and who wouldn't want to have a pint with Terpster. Henry for president 2012.
Great interviews, great hosts... They are the funniest, even that silly Brit...
After all of these years, The Instance continues to reliably deliver clever, insightful and entertaining commentary about the ongoing shenanigans of our favorite characters in Azaroth, Kalimdor, and now Pandaria. Never drop your mic, Instance, you're the hippest audio-swinging bunch of paparazzi on the planet! Thank you, from a loyal listener, for the years of great service. I hope on to look forwarded to many more of the same! Kindest regards, Ianto of Serenity, Human Holy Priest, Madoran US PVE Server [Ty McCearley, Delaware/Columbus, Ohio, USA]
I laugh hard at people who says this is bad. Great work instance crew, love the podcast.
Played wow for 5 years now, just found the show about 3 months ago. Love it! I listen when I mow the yard. Wife wonders why I am always mowing now. Keep up the good work.
You guys are great keep up the fantastic work! FOR THE ALLIANCE!!
This podcast is useful and enjoyable at the same time! They provide good information for all both the hardcore and casual groups as well as make listening easy. They respect all of the wow comunity and do not have an elitist attitude.
Frogpants Network reminds me a lot of the Wu-Tang Clan. A bunch of homies who are really good at what they do. I was worried that The Instance was going to suffer from the departure of longtime co-host Randy "The GZA" Johnson due to a job opportunity with Blizzard, but I was totally wrong. The show is stronger than ever with Willie "U-God" Gregory and Mark "Ghostface Killah" Turpin as co-hosts, and I think Scott "The RZA" Johnson works really well in the three man format. It's great to see that after all these years this is still, far and away, the best WoW podcast out there.
Scott, dills, and turpster are like a flu that you can't help but share with everyone you come in contact with. Ps: #7001!
Truly magical when all three hosts are present - downgraded to just plain Awesome when we get 2 out of 3 - 5 starts any way you cut it.
Very fun and funny podcast that has lots of helpful tips and just a great cast. Host has a lot to share as well as his co-hosts all are very informed and have a great passion for the game. podcast has good contests and great prizes.
Entertaining and informative! I enjoy all of Scott Johnson's Podcasts. Keep up the good work.
Lots of lemmings who do not know any better think this show is great. In fact its pretty average. Too many ads, light on meaningful content. Production is good but very VERY shallow. Soooo many better casts out there. Stop being sheep people!
This is just a great podcast plain and simple. Keep up the great work guys!
You will not find a more informative, entertaining, and downright honest podcast about WoW than this one! I would give ten stars, but they only allow five.
One of the few must listen podcasts every week. Keep up the great work
I would like to thank you for what you do. It has inspired me to start my own podcast. Thanks again, Nathan
