Mine was the story of lost at sea😪. Well told. Compelling.
All of The Moth Stories take you on a trip into the lives of other humans which is the best way to learn empathy. I wish I could figure out how to transfer the oldest stories available on your website to my podcast playlist on my iphone. Under stories available there are only those from 2020. Thanks.
Thank you! 🤗
The story of the first successful hand transplant made me loose my mind.
This has been one of my favorite podcasts for years and one of the only ones to remain an immediate listen all these years later. The Moth has made me cry dozens of times at work.
I laugh, cry, and learn from hearing these very human stories. It’s an amazing podcast and if you ever get a chance to go to a live one, I highly suggest it!
The stories told in this program expand your perception of the breadth of human experience. They latch onto your empathy and bring you into the best and worst moments in your fellow human’s lives; they hold on to otherwise fleeting moments of realization and make them available for understanding. It’s an amazing show that will make you cry, but will also make you feel connected to every other person on this planet. A must-listen, every week.
I love this podcast especially the one about the Wendy’s free giveaway 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅 LOVE YALLS PODCAST 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘😻😻😻 Spot the difference: 👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾🦻🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾👂🏾 💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️💂♀️ 🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️🧜♂️ 👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯♂️👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯 🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐪🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫 🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥⛅️🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥🌥 🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🎾🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥎🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🏅🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚄🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅 📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀💿📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀 🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛏🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌🛌 🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚯🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷🚷 🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱⚜️🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◻️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔉🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔉🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕛🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🕕🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇲🇨🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
The Moth is my favorite podcast by far. I find myself crying, smiling and laughing during almost every episode. The connection this platform provides for story tellers and listeners all over the world is so beautiful, especially right now during all the heartbreak and isolation. Thank you!!
The COVID virus and George Floyd murder has brought out the best, and worst of people. The Moth is a way to unite us. We need to hear the stories, both humorous and sad, to give us a commonality at a time we need to be compassionate, understanding and strong.
The moth is a good show so far but I still am waiting for the good stories to surface I’ll write another review if my opinion changes
I have two autistic children named Ava and Roxy and this is great for cold morning walks. It’s not just good for grownups; it’s good for kids too!!! I would really recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great podcast.Keep it going!
This is the best podcast ever
I love The Moth. I learn a great deal about the human condition by listening to the range of stories told. The Moth episodes are some of my favorite podcasts to listen to while I’m cooking and cleaning.
It’s important to hear stories from all kinds of people, especially those who we don’t know in real life. We are all human, though we have such unique and varied experiences. I don’t love every one of them, but that’s because i’m a human. I usually learn something though. Enjoy it immensely!
I typically like the content of the stories, but the performative pressure of these sessions falls flat. There’s a reason some people are performers and the general populace is not. After this gained more popularity, the performances can be so self indulgent that I absolutely cannot listen. If I hear the intro come on I immediately turn off NPR, which is something I only do for this show.
For Bad People. If you like this, you need to take a long hard look in the mirror and think about making some serious changes in how you live your life.
I love all the stories.
I don’t know that they’re pushing a political agenda, I believe they’re trying to share more stories from people of color and LGBT+ people which I think is a great idea. The moth is about storytelling and empathy. Part of that is listening to everyone, not just people who are the same as you. I’m very sorry to hear that some people are bothered by this, I would have hoped it would opened some hearts and minds, but alas, we have a long way to go. Thank you to the moth for promoting inclusivity and community (which is not something that should be exclusive to the “left”).
I’ve been a subscriber and faithful listener to this podcast for years but I now find myself removing it from my library. I’ve loved the wide array of stories and experiences of people around the world that cover such a huge range of emotions. Over the past few months, however, the topics have become so politically charged and biased that I can’t listen any longer. It’s unfortunate that one of my favorite podcasts has become yet another outlet pushing a political agenda. I’ve turned off the news and television for this reason and yet here we are again with more of the same. Good luck to you Moth but if this is the direction you’re going, you’re going without my support.
Never disappoints, no matter the “subject “
I originally enjoyed listening because of the variety of unique stories. They were fun and personal. Then there were too many stories about one topic. The hosts seemed to have their own agenda. I tried The Moth again recently and they are back to sharing good stories. Update: Never mind, I spoke too soon. They still have too many one-sided stories with political agendas.
This is one of my favorite podcasts!
I listened to the Moth about 10 years ago before it became a sensation. I really enjoyed it. I still enjoy the actual stories, but the ads are so corporate and in-your-face I can’t stand it. I listen to other podcasts with ads, and they aren’t so distracting that they take away from the podcast itself. I know the Moth needs revenue, but do they have to pursue in such a corporate culture way?
I loved the show. Stories used to bring everyday life stories to average people make us laugh, cry and think. However lately the show has become so political charged and one sided, and the host use the show express their own biased opinions, so disappointed.
I love your show and enjoy all the different stories in each episodes. I have learned so much about the different challenges and experiences people face in life. However, I am so disappointed that you “forced” religion on us with The Confessional. I was driving and couldn’t really switch. I was intrigued to see where the story of the guy was going. However it just turned into church preaching. Your audience is diverse and this type of religious podcast was inappropriate. Terrible. I had to turn it off.
I’m a big fan of The Moth. The All Together Now episode hosted by Jon Goode that includes a story by Boots Riley is my favorite so far. Jon’s story about ally ship, his encouragement to see the events happening in the U.S. from another person’s perspective and the point that all large scale change starts with us as individuals made this episode amazing. Definitely keeping an eye (or an ear) out for more from Jon Goode!
I am unsubscribing because, many more times than not, the stories are shoving an extreme far left agenda down the listener’s throat. It’s taken the enjoyment away and become a lecture.
Tres Sa dSSth t
I love the Moth but there are way too many old posts mixed in with new posts. Please mark the posts as repeats or re-broadcasts. Other than that you guys do a great job.
Your enthusiastic description led me to expect something far different; more unique. This was straight up “Davey and Goliath,” only more Christian. No insights; no universality. As a nonChristian not well educated in Euro history, I found not enough explanation of core concepts (“grace,” “redemption”) to even really follow the discussion. Can’t fathom why you loaned the Moth brand to this.
I enjoyed the Moth, but I quit listening regularly when it seemed like half the stories were about how someone messed up their lives (gambled away their life’s savings, got addicted, had sex with strings of people...) Those stories can have important things to say, but it was the same arc over and over. Now it seems more balanced and I am enjoying it more. They have a formula that they train people to follow which ends the stories with a quaint phrase to try it all up, and that is annoying more than not. Overall though, this podcast has been a lovely escape for me. I’ve cried and laughed and stayed late to finish the story many times. Thanks, Moth creators!
The moth is amazing it has great stories and I can turn it on and just all my axiety go away
I look forward to each episode! I’m hoping there is an easier way to find the pictures you often refer to. If I do locate them it’s often by luck after clicking around for quite some time on the site. Usually I have to give up!
This is perfection! Thank you both for being honest and open during this interview. I really needed this right now.
i remember listening to a moth podcast about a trans person struggle to find the correct to buy. this weeks “confessional” made me feel like you actually do value all the experiences of this world, not just ones that were particular. thank you.
Why in the world did you guys think it was a good idea to take us to church? I respect all religions & support different points of view in their personal stories on the Moth, but this is was not at all the Moth or what I thought the Moth represented. This was simply cringe-worthy & disappointing.
Thank you for continuing to to provide solace during social distancing. Love, love, love, “The Moth.” I really appreciate the recommendation for “The Confessionals.” Both shows remind me to show grace, compassion and love towards humanity. The reminder to be humble and grounded is refreshing.
I am a huge Moth fan who is very disappointed in your decision to air, “The Confessional.”
I love this new podcast! Spiritually inspired and enlightening!
When did The Moth become Christian pulpits! Not why I tune in. Really?! Who is she to preach to me or anyone. Done.
Apparently we should just let old/sick people die, because we don’t have N95 masks? This is an example of worthless hype—the CDC guidance allows for the use of surgical coverings to allow for the continued care of patients. They don’t suggest that it’s the preferred option, so maybe instead of whining about it, figure out how to build or source supplies. Stop blaming. If the CDC hadn’t modified the requirements, the same reporter would have interviewed the same people to whine about patients dying and not being able to care for them. And no one said that you can’t fold a t-shirt and make your own mask. Stop being gross.
Today, I was feeling bereft of spirit and was looking for spiritual nourishment. I found Nadia Bolz-Weber with The Moth’s new The Confessional podcast, and I am so happy I listened. The prayer for Chris (assuming this was Episode 1) at the end and the comparison to Biblical lives and lessons was real, comforting, inspiring, and fulfilling. Thank you very much. A long time subscriber to The Moth, I so look forward to many episodes of The Confessional. Timely and soothing.
Listening to the moth is like listening to the sound a cat makes when you rub its belly.
If you are a person that likes to listen to different walks of life, this is for you. Hilarious, Sad and heart touching stories from around the world. Each episode there is a chance that you will laugh or you will get teary eyed, you might even cheerout loud for someones triumph.
This podcast is the BEST keep making more!!!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😁😁😁😁😁
This is the best podcast in the world! I LOVE IT😍😍😍🤪🤪🤪🤪🤩🤩
These stories are so heartwarming, inspirational and remind us we are all human with stories that can or don’t define us.
I’ve been moved to tears over multiple stories in the past half week of listening to The Moth. The inspiration I’ve felt from these episodes shared is on a divine level, filled with profound honesty and soul. I write this after listening to the remembrance of storming the beaches of Normandy by Rick Carrier. We owe the freedom we take for granted to great, brave men and women like him.
Super inspirational, great podcast
Many a Moth story has kept me engrossed enough to not notice how much I hate running. Sometimes I’ll set out with the idea of a quick one mile because I’m feeling lazy and I’ll get so sucked into a story I end up tripling my goal. I honestly can credit The Moth with maintaining cardiovascular fitness and my goal weight for the last 3 years.
Personal stories, well told. Enchanting.
This is my go-to podcast when I want to stop obsessing about news and politics. Often I laugh, sometimes I cry. Always there is something to be gained from every episode.
I love this podcast, but some of the people on mic really should have a drink of water. Its hard to get through a good story when the storyteller has mush mouth.
5 stars no doubt. If you like this podcast I highly recommend the “Inside Stories” podcast. I appreciate the efforts of the team who put The Moth together—otherwise I would never hear these amazing stories. A sincere thank you!
Amazing true stories that help me realize we are all more alike than we realize.
I love listening to people tell stories.. always have. This is the best podcast to turn on while you’re working and just listen. I have no expectations, the stories are always like a surprise because you don’t know what they’ll be about, but I always enjoy them... they draw you in and make you feel things. Mostly I laugh, but sometimes I find myself stopping what I’m doing and listening to an especially poignant story. It always makes the work day go by faster as I’m entertained by these raconteurs.
Whenever I see that a new Moth episode available, I feel the same excitement as a child who hears the music from the ice cream truck coming down the road.
The stories are wonderful! Thank you for providing these stories to all!
There is no better podcast
It’s the best thare all exciting not a single 1 is boring!.😀😃😀
Me and my mom expediently found this podcast, we thought how wonderful and amazing this idea was , so I’ll give this a 5 Star... it’s a brilliant masterpiece.
I’ve been listening for years and years. This podcast is a highlight of my week. But I agree with the previous review—it is close to impossible finding the pictures and material provided by and related to specific podcasts which is on “themoth.org.” Would absolutely LOVE to access these more easily!! Thank you!
I listen to the stories as I am cleaning houses. I wish there were more as I am running out of stories to listen to. I laugh- I cry- I am intrigued- Listening has made me look into story slams in my area -
I can binge listen and not feel as though My time was wasted at all.
I really love this show and everything you guys do here, but every time you guys reference “themoth.org” to view a picture associated with a story/story teller, I either cannot find the page you’re talking about at all or it takes me 20 minutes of clicking things to accidentally stumble upon it. OR I find the storyteller’s bio and the episode page but not the picture(s) that was said to be there waiting for me to check out. I love this show, and I love that you offer visual extras- all I ask is that you make them more easily accessible or that you give more specific instructions to view them rather than just saying “go to themoth.org”. Maybe include a direct link to the extra content in the show notes?
That comment as for a different podcast 😂 Luv your show keep up the good work! It was supposed to be for the bundyville podcast
They tend to repeat stories all the time. I am not quite sure why as they have Live Story events all the time all over the US. Honest speculation, seriously wondering why.
What can I say that hasn’t been said? The Moth is a wonderful organization and I look forward each week to new episodes and stories. The hosts always tie things together really well and provide a good mix of stories and backgrounds to keep you engaged.
I cannot get enough of this show. There is not a single episode that I have listened to that I have not enjoyed. I do not always know what type of story to expect but I know that whatever story it is it will be one worth listening to.
This podcast is my favorite! I have listened to every story for the past year. I recommend this podcast to my family and friends. Every story a gem!
Some times it is funny and some times it is not more comedy
Always interesting and inspiring, sometimes funny or sad, I get engrossed in these stories. Most stories are from regular people and some are from more famous people. I used to listen to The Moth years ago on public radio and loved it then. Glad I found their podcast.
I’m so grateful to the Moth! It is not easy to stand up and telling story of your life. I love to hear life story of others. I have an interesting life that I want to share, but still haven’t brave enough to call.the Moth. I hope one day I will.
I’m so thankful for this podcast. I am so grateful for the brave storytellers that have the power to get up and share their stories and for The Moth for providing a platform for storytellers to do so. The messages of the stories we tell and leave behind us inspire the stories that live beyond us. Thank you for all of the messages. Much love to you, Moth.
Enjoy the story tellers emotional , funny and drama stories that makes you think and connect with others.
Biased and not entertaining. Modern love is a better podcast.
One of the best.
I had listened to The Moth of public radio for years before discoing podcast. Listening to so many different people from all over the world tell their personal stories; it feels like home to me.
I LOVE the Moth and most of the time am very pleased and enjoy the stories. My only complaints- there are a disproportionally high number of stories about gay people and of stories about bad experiences with religious people. I feel like they push a little too much of certain stories. Also, there are not enough new episodes with new stories. I love the Moth and want to hear more please!
I can’t get enough of these stories I love each and everyone of the stories I’ve heard
I’ve been a listener and audience member for years - such great stories. I love David Crabb’s stories in particular!
I’m honestly devastated to write this review. From the bottom of my heart. I’ve been listening to the Moth for years. I often think of the many stories I’ve heard and still recount them to others, however, I recently decided that I can no longer support the Moth. The Moth changed my heart, it opened my mind to people of all walks of life and their stories. I cried, I laughed, I found compassion. The reason I am signing off is that I feel the Moth has started to use their platform for their own personal political agenda. What once was a inclusive podcast for all has now become one sided. What finally pushed me over the edge was they put out a show with very one sided controversial political topics (specifically ones that were very emotional and heart wrenching) the week of the election & at the end of show they told their viewers to “choose wisely”. I was blown away. This felt manipulative, using a heartbreaking stories to garner votes for their preferred stance. In this day in age, with so many people and places divided against each other I was so disappointed to see a podcast, that often promotes togetherness, choose instead to promote division. But alas, people will do what they think is best and right and I guess the Moth thinks this is way to make a better world. Sadly, I don’t agree and will no longer be a listener. Thanks for the good times Moth, they were great while they lasted.
The Moth is so popular for a reason. It gets down to the basic interest of podcasting— hearing stories. Sometimes it’s a great listen, sometimes it’s a good listen, and sometimes it’s just ehh. Depends on the story teller, which is the most natural facet of the show.
I love The Moth. I look forward to it whenever there is a new story that pops up. But lately they have been playing a bonus story at the end of the show sponsored by some company or the other. They are stories that have already played on The Moth and they have a rotation of only two or three stories so I keep getting stuck listening to something I’ve heard very recently. When I’m cooking or showering or falling asleep at night I don’t want to have to pick up my phone again, open the app and choose another podcast. Please stop doing this guys!
Stories that are genuine and well told because they are told by the person who loved them.
The Moth is stunning! Storytelling is essential to any community that desires to grow stronger, closer and function better! When individuals open up to strangers and tell their stories, you are no longer strangers! Storytelling has been a tradition of communities since mankind has had language and communities!!! When we tell our stories to those around us we build sympathy, empathy, friendships, bonds, relationships, and come together! The Moth provides a platform in a community to start building these stronger bonds together and is absolutely essential to building the communities we desire to live in! Once you get to know the stories of your neighbors it is impossible not to have some bond!!! I listen to this podcast every week!!! I have gone to live events and hopefully one day I will tell a story of my own!!! Keep up the good work, building stronger community bonds one storyteller and one story at a time!!!
You'll tear up and laugh out loud every episode- sometimes more than once
Why do people who smack, gulp swallow, interrupt themselves to slurp their own spit, etc, immediately end up on a podcast? Couldn’t make it through the first episode. Can they not take out those disgusting and distracting sounds in post production? Podcast is all sound and they’re expecting us to sift through this stuff and stick with it?
I look forward to this every week. Love it
This is an exceptional podcast. It makes my time on the treadmill fly by. Or a road trip in the car seem like hours instead of days. The stories are laugh out loud funny or sometimes bring tears to my eyes, but many stay with me which I recall often.
This podcast is one of my absolute favorite things in life.
I discovered the Moth by accident when I was working late nights on the weekend as I was trying to stay up to start work at midnight. I quickly became hooked and now listen to the podcast in addition to catching it on KQED Saturday night
No matter what the topic, Moth stories always grab that innermost human part of us, the part that connects us to each other. You can never just blithely have this on as background noise...there’s too much emotion. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.
The Moth is humanity at its best. It makes me laugh, cry, empathize, and generally feel like I’m really not alone! Even better, I’m in good company. I listen while traveling long distance, waiting for appointments, and cooking. So many stories, not enough time!!!
This is the worst and most annoying podcast ever! How can anybody like this !?!?! If there was a rating lower the 0 I would rate it.
The moth is so awesome. If you need a good belly laugh or a mournful experience, this is the podcast for you! If you want to listen to it in the car or going to bed, this is the podcast for you!
Each and every episode entertains and teaches Giving me a voice in finding my story While I listen to the master story tellers, I identify my strengths , see the world with a new set of eyes, laugh and cry!!!
Longtime Moth listener. I don’t have money to support the moth but I appreciate everyone who does because I have listened to so many Moth stories that have changed the way I see the world. Thank you to all of the producers, interviewers, hosts and of course, the storytellers. Thank you all!
I’ve been listening to The Moth podcast since I was a sophomore in high school and it’s always been such a special treat ♥️ I love this podcast so, so much. Some stories make me cry, some make me laugh, some give me new perspectives on life, and others highlight a need for change. I recommend this podcast to anyone and everyone. Absolute favorite.
I love the variety of stories from so many different people.
Really great podcast to learn others perspectives and gain more of a sense of empathy. I just wish they were more consistent on releasing episodes. If Tuesday and Friday it is I wish they would not skip Friday sometimes
Such a wealth of fantastic storytelling
I just started listening to this podcast and I didn’t realize how much it would make me feel. The fun stories brighten my day. The emotional stories touch my heart and it makes me feel grateful. And I love all the in between.
I really like your podcast
I used to incorporate an evening at The Moth during visits to NYC. It was unpredictable and life-affirming. I loved it. Now the sound of opportunism makes me cringe. A story telling machine? Ick.
It evokes emotions that you had no idea were there. One second your laughing the next you're humbly crying. Can’t believe the happiness this podcast has brought to my life.
This podcast is my favorite of all. Whether I’m crying, laughing or just engrossed in the deep soulfulness of these stories, they transform me from where I was to 100% in. I usually save them up for when I’m having a tough day, and the moth just takes it away!
Not a surprise but I love The Moth!!! Everyone should listen- so much beautiful content. Keep on sharing 🦋
Moth is such an awesome, uplifting, stark (in both depths of beauty and abject anguish at times) testament to the human experience, survival instinct, wit, luck, hilarious perspective (...you name it) and of course the timeless art of storytelling. I love this podcast. More!
I want to slit my wrists when these art directors start to speak. Enough to immediately turn it off.
Really I wanted to love these. & I did love most of the honest story slams & people’s tales of real life experiences & embarrassing stories of youth. Overwhelmingly , every week is guaranteed to have some sob story of the homosexual experience in our straight white society. We get it. You’re here you’re queer get used to it? If your entire existence is based on what you do in bed, you may need a life
Don’t you think scooby do and shreck make a great couple? 👩🎨💅👠🥽🦎🍂☁️🥝🧂🥍🧘♂️🏆🎮🧩🏎🚧🗼🏘
I have heard some of the most beautiful, funny, heart-wrenching and miraculous stories by listening to this podcast. I am so grateful for the work that The Moth does to share people’s stories.
I live in Baltimore and the news is dreadful hear and across the country. NPR, with all its gifts and talent, tells it all. So for the peace I long for I can listen to the MOTH RADIO HOUR pod cast and am reminded the is also still humanity up here. Thank you MOTH PEOPLE
This week’s episode, “The Rest is History” is just wonderful. First hand accounts of the Holocaust are becoming rare. This one is very touching. Also, the story of the Stradivarius violin was so rare!!! A very unique episode, sensitive and insightful.
This was the first podcast I ever listened to, that was a couple years back and I now have many other favorites. The Moth will always be my favorite. I first heard it on NPR on a Saturday in 2012, and I have not missed one episode. I am now also a regular at the Miami Moth story slams! Keep it up, you all rock!
Such a great podcast. Covers every range of emotion & topic. The Moth Story Slams has something for everyone.
The Moth is the music of humanity. May we all become master storytellers, inspired by the true stories of our full hearts.
These stories are true and interesting and encourage compassion and empathy for others. I relate to some stories and do not relate to most, which broadens my knowledge and perspective of the world and others in it.
I’ve been listening to The Moth weekly for the past 4 years and it’s always the highlight of my week. I laugh, I cry, and I’m able to feel part of something bigger than myself when I can listen and understand someone better or know that someone goes through the same struggles as me. I always recommend The Moth to all my friends and family, and when I find a fellow listener I feel instantly connected to them. I love The Moth, and how they share perspectives from all over the world. I can’t rave enough about this podcast
I rarely listen to a Moth story with a ho-hum response. More often than not, I am moved....to think, to laugh, to disagree, to recall my own past, to challenge my biases. It’s a great program.
Great for falling asleep and very attention grabbing
Better than therapy.
I love everything about the moth radio hr. I rely on it to help me know my own stories. It is one of the greatest expressions of our time.
I love the concept of The Moth and the stories that they pick. I especially appreciate that the stories are so diverse and come from many ages, countries, ethnicities, backgrounds, etc.
I like the moth logo. :)
The moth sets the bar for all the rest.
Fly high :)
I have to ask where have you been all Of my life??? This podcast and these stories entered my life EXACTLY when it was supposed to! I NEEDED THIS! ❤️❤️❤️
This is my absolutely favorite podcast. It makes my heart sing. I listen immediately as soon as a new one downloads. Thank you to ALL the storytellers. I hear you.
I love this podcast so much. The stories are all amazing. 10/10
Why was there only one episode for Black History month?
Great podcast great stories
great podcast.. love the Moth
I have been a listener for years now. I started with my first car 10yrs ago and had to be in it to catch the show. Now I can listen any time I am feeling let down by society. The stories are about humanity and how we all can be caught up by tragedy or joy. The details people remember in the moment keep surprising me. Your staff who help refine the stories and the people willing to share have my utmost appreciation. Thank you for sharing your stories to open all of our eyes. Aloha and Mahalo Cameron Layer
The Moth is the most amazing true, live story telling podcast ever! I can't remember the last time I have tuned in to the norm radio stations, even television. I am so hooked and inspiried by the many choices of Podcast programing. I made my iTune podcast playlists of my favorites. And the moth radio hour is my five star, go to program. Thank you for the wonderful people who have shared their lives and experiences in your podcast. Mahalo and Aloha ! From the big island of Hawaii, Kealia South Kona.
*sigh* I’m a middle schooler and I don’t feel like listening to stories about drugs. I’m not subscribing. If.... You.... Don’t..... Want..... To.... Be..... Traumatized.... Buy mothballs. Pun intended.
Amazing stories..they will stay with me forever.
Beautifully produced, engaging stories, and great takeaways. I’m hooked!
I LOVE The Moth. It’s my first choice podcast. I never miss an episode. I share many especially beloved stories from The Moth with friends on Facebook or in private messages. But, that not-pretty trumpet fanfare, louder than any other part of the show, snaps my eyes open, initiates an adrenaline rush, makes me crazy every time. Truly, deeply annoying in an otherwise delightful, often inspiring, hour. Please make it go away or AT LEAST tone it down to the same decibel level as the rest of the show.
I like this podcast but a lot of the stories are horribly depressing... I guess that's life these days.
I am absolutely obsessed! When I first discovered it, I blew through episode after episode. Now, I am always anxiously awaiting new episodes! My favorite podcast, by far.
One of the best. But the trumpet intro and HURTS. Who thought that was good? If they could lower the volume on the clapping and the trumpet so these excellent stories didn’t end with pain, that would be so appreciated. Does anyone else notice this?
One of the best pods out there.
The power of story telling at its best! Just gets better and better.
The moth is the best
I was first introduced to the Moth by my husband, years ago, when he showed me the videos of the show. I was captivated by the power of the first person, well told tale, recounted without notes. The stories shifted my vision of the world sometimes. Other times I simply would laugh out loud. I love this show and still do return, curious and surprised.
There’s not a bad story in the bunch. You never know what you’re going to get, and each one is different than last and so great in it’s own way. Thank you Moth for bringing them all together for us each episode.

I absolutely love The Moth. Since discovering it I now listen every day. The stories make me laugh, cry and think. So grateful to have found this Pod cast.
I have been tuned in since I was in college and I love the stories. The diversity in the storytellers is refreshing!
Love it!! Can’t stop crying. Such beautiful stories. Thank you for this different podcast.
I am a regular podcast listener and the latest episode - the Kindness of Strangers - was super. Thanks for picking up on this recurring theme in your stories - I hope to hear more of these soon!
I listen to The Moth on the radio maybe twice a month, just if I happen to be driving at the right time on the right night. But a few weeks ago, I saw that they were going live just around the corner from where I live! Ran right out to buy tickets for me and my husband, to whom I’d recently intro’ed The Moth on radio. I am now super-psyched to be listening to the podcasts!!!
I love imagining the audience at these stories. It's amazing how compelling these stories could be.
This is my favorite podcast to listen to during my long commutes. It really makes me feel connected to the story tellers with their humor, humility, vulnerability and their ability to keep me completely consumed and engaged making my commutes seem much shorter. In a place where social media has created a platform for people to show their ugly, this podcast gives me hope and makes me feel connected again.
If you’ve never listened then you’re all set: there’s tons of catching up to do! But as someone who looks forward to each week’s new release I am soooo often disappointed because it seems that most often it’s an old episode. Either from last year or 4 years ago. Bummer. Also, the show seems to have some clear and pretty obvious agendas, which is fine, but sometimes it feels tiring to listen to something that feels so curated to their POV.
I do enjoy listening to this podcast, but yikes at the end of an often thoughtful lovely story comes a screaming trill trumpet wailing. Please, please wether I’m walking the dog listening or dozing off to sleep this is so jarring. If you must have this simple trumpet trill, turn the volume down. Or please consider a musical tract more appropriate for the end of a good story. Thanks.
Best stories !
The Moth is my absolute favorite podcast, which says something as I listen to quite a number of them. I always feel moved when listening. I’ve burst out laughing, I’ve held tears back. I’ve never felt let down by an episode once. If I had to choose just one podcast to listen to for the rest of my life, it’d be The Moth.
I love the show! However You hosts could improve the recordings by offering water to storytellers to take on stages. Nothing sounds more irritating than a nervous person with a dry tongue sticking to their mouth as they tell a story. It is distracting. Great podcast though!!!
I’ve enjoyed The Moth for many months. Last week’s show cracked me up! “All At Sea” made me was the funniest story I’ve ever heard. I listened to the entire show numerous times, and that segment even more. Thank you!
I am a consumer of stories. I love to hear life affirming stories of challenges overcome, and real genuine human interaction. I like to share these stories with others. Thank you for being apart of my community.
Look forward to the stories each week!
Love the Moth. I've laughed out loud, cried and shared every emotion with the story tellers on the Moth. There's something special about hearing these stories straight from those who lived them.
I’ve been listening for years and i love this podcast! I am a little sad they seem to have shifted to be mostly the radio hour. It is rare I have an hour to devote to listening and most of my radio hours seem to go unfinished. That said, this is one of the only podcasts I listen to that consistently has episodes over 20 minutes (granted I usually stop after the 2nd or 3rd story, so I’m not listening to the whole hour).
The Moth is my tonic in this age of AI. It’s all about the human experience as told by humans. I laugh I cry I love.
Love The MOTH broadcasts! Thank you for storytelling at its finest 💜
I enjoy every episode. The stories make me laugh and cry and grow.
Love the Moth podcasts! I always miss the NPR broadcast on Friday at 1pm because of my work schedule so podcasts are a treasure.
My favorite podcast with the most incredible stories to connect me to the world.
Everyone has a story. This is a great collection of stories from a host of different backgrounds. Keeps me entertained during my runs!
Heartfelt and moving stories to help me through my mundane day!
This show has taken me to the extremes of human emotion in all of the best ways.
Is really really outstanding.
It's a rare episode that I don't fully enjoy & feel moved by. Most of the storytellers are excellent, with the "regular" folks as excellent as the stand-ups, writers & other pros that appear.
I just love the Moth. These are a bunch of honest, heart felt, funny, tear provoking, heart squeezing stories.
Thanks to the moth a lot of my long trips where shorter.such interesting topics and storytellers from all over the globe.thanks “the moth” ❤️😂
I Really Enjoy listening to this Podcast.
I’ve been an apple iPhone user for years and always known about podcasts but never took advantage of what they offered. So one day while scrolling on FB I come across a video of a lady telling her story. Something called “the moth”. So I check it out and bam!!! Mind blown!! I’ve been a fan ever since!
The Moth has helped me in so many ways during my time listening to it, but I think what has helped me the most is this sense that we’re all in the together. It’s so easy to feel isolated and that my problems are insurmountable or more difficult than the next person’s set of problems. The Moth presenters, with great humility and humor, present their lives in such a way that make me personally feel like, “Okay, I’m not the only one going through that.” So thank you for your efforts in organizing this project over the years. It’s super meaningful to me.
These stories are very well told, and very interesting! One of my favorite podcasts.
I found them off when they took off briefly Perry home companion when Garrison Keillor retired. It was replaced by them off. Then Perry home companion came back on, but by then I had found the podcast. I intend to be a life Dash Long listener. I really love it. I wish I were as funny and as candid as these people who are presenting. My friends say I’m funny, but they love me!
Fascinating stories from all over the world. From real people
Touching & enjoyable!!! We are all individuals with unique stories (not always happy, not always sad). Thank you for the continued content!
I just adore being able to listen about others life and struggles as well as triumphs.
The story’s are often great. If they are not you can’t get rid of them. The delete doesn’t work even if you can find it. I don’t know, maybe it’s my POS I-Phone.
The Moth doesn’t allow you, the listener, the audience, to find old episodes online, via the app. Defeats the purpose of having the app.
Prepare to laugh, to cry, to smile. It is all humanity. So GREAT. the format too is perfect in range and pace. Always such a treat to listen to the moth.
The stories told on this show are everything from funny to poignant to tear-jerking. And even with the wide variation of stories that are told here they never fail to entertain. Definitely one of my very favorite podcasts!
One of the best podcasts around. Love everything about the moth. Except the logo. Awful color and design, does not represent this awesome product
95% of the time I love this podcast. It gets right to the human parts of life. I admit I'm probably right smack dab in the center of their target market, but it is just so great. It helps me feel connected while I work alone on the floors of empty buildings.
I'm always entertained by the stories!
Absolutely love the Moth. Wish they did a story slam here in Phoenix!
This is by far my favorite pod cast ever. I love hearing people's stories. I have smiled and cried so much. Thank you.
The stories of this podcast truly represent the full spectrum of the human experience. This podcast is a weekly gift to humanity, and I recommend it to everyone.
This podcast always strikes a chord- whether it is making me laugh, feel saddened, or giving me goosebumps, I am never disappointed in The Moth!
What more can I say? Love
This is horrible... just... wow
I've loved the Moth for years but lately those interviews of the storytellers have started to grate on my nerves. Nestor has become the token Hispanic who has been deemed approachable for the white NPR audiences. Same thing with any person of color. But all of these stories are so workshopped and awful.
Implicit bias description made me realize that I am a racist, even though I thought I have no prejudice in my mind and heart. Words and actions work together to reflect our inner feelings. To work on not being racist is working diligently toward PEACE.
I listen to tons of podcasts & this is my favorite. I laugh, I cry, I gasp, etc. So real. So awesome. I eagerly await each release. Love.
This podcast is everything that is right and beautiful with this wold. I truly believe that Being able to connect with people from different backgrounds and places all over the world builds understanding and peace In humanity. This podcast has given me purpose. It has made me want to be a better story teller and one day tell my own story on the moth stage.
These stories break me, save me, motivate me, and center me. I've even entered a story slam myself and won. It was therapeutic and adrenaline filled.
I love the honesty and uniqueness of all the stories shared. Sometimes I am left crying in my car or laughing hysterically - you never know what you will feel but it is always an amazing experience.
I have been listening for years and this podcast has carried me through many crazy life changes. Great reminder of the variety of the human experience. THANK YOU!
I love The Moth but they took the TalkSpace ad too far. I am sure a lot people use podcast to get away from every day worries. To imply that a bunch of poor people aren't going to have health care, so they can push a product doesn't feel like help to me. I just didn't expect that from The Moth.
This podcast is great. I think hearing stories from people all around the world make you realize that people with very different life experiences are still relatable. I find it inspirational, and love how a story about a minor occurrence in someone's life can be riveting.
This is one of my two most favorite podcasts. Generally there are three stories in each podcast. These stories range from funny, thought-provoking, heart-felt and informative. There is always something for everyone that is listening. I even have my 84 year old mother listening and she loves it. When I think of podcast that made me remember it long after I listened...it would be something I heard on The Moth.
Loving, wondrous, humorous, thought provoking and wonderful. It lifts my day.
This is one of the best podcasts out there. It's thoroughly entertaining, I just wish episodes would come out more frequently because I can't get enough. So many of the stories and life lessons have stuck with me since I've started listening to this podcast
OMG. I was looking for a new podcast, read a review of The Moth and tries an episode. I am absolutely hooked!! The stories are amusing, heart warming, interesting etc etc...I am telling everyone I know to start listening. Makes my commute to work super enjoyable. Problem is I don't want to get out of the car 😊
I've listened off and on to the Moth almost since the beginning (sorry it's taken so long to review). I doubt a homebody like me will ever make it to one of the live events, but I'd imagine the podcast is the next best thing. I do prefer the candid openness even on explicit topics that they used to have on the podcast in the early days, perhaps they could do like selected shorts is doing and have a separate feed for more explicit and racy topics. Still this is one of the few shows I turn to in order to get into the perspective of people from other cultures and to squash my remaining myopia about the world. That is a cause I can definitely get behind.
This podcast has made such an impact on my life. I laugh and cry through most episodes. So many wonderful stories I won't forget.
Love this podcast. Short stories that make me laugh and cry. Well done! Thank you!
I cry every episode! Love this show so so much. My favorite episodes feature people who would normally not be on a stage. Not writers or performers but regular people or down-and-out characters. Fascinating and insightful.
I save them up so I listen to several at a time!
Beautiful stories from all kinds of people.
The moth stories are perfect: real, emotive, perfect length of time...
You never know what you're getting in an episode, but mostly the stories are all compelling. There are times I have to skip ahead to the next one, but you can't please everyone.
The Women episode from April 25 was fantastic, best collection of remakable stories since ever.
I just can't get enough of this stuff.
I love The Moth! The stories are so moving and real.
The Moth is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to, however I have a slight issue with the consistency. Some stories are heartbreaking, hilarious, emotional, dramatic, or inspiring, but others are simply plain. It is like finding a piece of gold when I come across a story that is full of emotion because sometimes an episode is drab, boring, or pointless. Maybe being pointless is the point. To appreciate the small things. Either way, the Moth episodes about the horse tattoo and the New York City juror were two of my favorites. Definitely worth the listen but be forewarned you might have to skip around!
I have to admit that I am fairly new to podcasts, but this one is like Black Dinah Chocolate on my tongue.....warm, soothing and oh so delicious!
The curation of this podcast is fantastic! I really enjoy the variety of stories and the authenticity of the experiences. Have laughed, cried, and pondered while listening to this podcast. The Moth live events are also fantastic!
Take a listen and feel the life in each story told. It's not your story and you are not likely going to say "Yeah, I can relate," but you will cheer, cry, laugh, sit straighter, sit on the edge of your seat, and a whole lot more listening to average people retell unaverage moments of their life. We all think we are so ordinary and unremarkable until we stand in front of someone and talk about those points in life we experienced that changed or defined who we are forward in life. Only when we see the others facing us do we realize we are all different breaths of life. Important, powerful, and amazing on our own. These are stories of those moments.
The Moth is a wonderful set of true stories, thoughtfully curates, told live. Deeply entertaining, often very moving and thought provoking, the podcast is great. See a live show, too, if tou get a chance, they are very fun!
Good place to hear good stories from many different perspectives and experiences.
The only bad thing about this podcast is it sometimes makes me cry.
Great story tellers.... this podcast is amazing.
I would listen daily if I could
I cannot express how much I LOVE this podcast. You NEED to listen.
Love the stories and look forward to this every time. So glad there is a radio hour version as I can't ever get enough.
These stories are hilarious!
I hate writing reviews, but I love this podcast and want them to know it
These moving stories will make you laugh, cry and connect with others. If you have a heart, you will probably like this podcast.
If you like podcast this podcast is a great
Since I been listening to The Moth, I started going to the local storytellers and poetry slam shows. Meeting all kinds of new and interesting people!!
Love this show !
This is the greatest podcast I've ever listened to.
Such great personal stories. Great podcast! Hope to catch a live show someday.
The stories are not always the most appealing, but I always enjoy listening any way because it's awesome to hear the stories of other people's personal experiaces. I can always count on learning something. cwdesign.studio
One of the worst podcasts I've ever heard. Rather than explore science, history, or philosophy, this is just another navel-gazing bit of self indulgent noise for mindless droolers.
I love The Moth. I always listen when I can. My only criticism is that the podcast does not coordinate with the radio broadcast. Of course it is wonderful to get other stories than the broadcast ones, but if I have to miss the radio broadcast, I wish it were easier to get the missed episodes some other way.
Storytelling at its most compelling! I laugh, I cry, I wish I could tell stories like this.
The stories are always entertaining, surprising, and well structured.
I love to hear so many different stories from so many different kinds of people. I always get excited when I see there's a new episode!
A LOT OF PODCASTS. The Moth is my favorite and goes right to the top of my listening list as soon as a new episode drops.
The variety of stories and voices always promises to please!
Beautifully curated stories. Always a pleasure to listen to.
I love these stories
The idea is simple enough: Real people telling true stories in front of a live audience. On its face, it might seem underwhelming, but I can't even count the number of times I've been moved to tears by what I've heard from this program. Even those stories that don't pack an emotional suckerpunch are likely to make me laugh or, at the very least, look with a fresh perspective at a situation I maybe hadn't given a lot of thought to previously.
Every episode is amazing. Great real life stories and story tellers.
There is no way any sane person would not love this show❤️
Always interesting always cool
Thank you for bringing this podcast into exsistence. The stories are real, as are the people telling them, and whether they are about the everyday-life of learning to live with a new sibling or the extraordinary (like rowing the English Channel in a bathtub), there is something unconquerable and human that brings each storyteller straight from their hearts and into yours.
Years and years ago when I began listening to podcasts, The Moth was one of my favorites. Meeting people from completely different walks of life through their stories is what The Moth does best! It used to be that I couldn't wait for the next one to come out. Today... boring! I still listen, and occasionally enjoy a great story, but where is the life, the excitement, the risqué, and the riveting stories I once heard. Please, filter more! Listening through the quantity of stories for a quality one is getting old.
It's kind of a thing again - storytelling. These are supposedly true and free of notes and told in a manner that encourages competition and excellence. Anyway, nice to hear these random stories in front of an audience.
Love all the stories.
My favorite podcast. This show is a great way to see what's going on outside of your own version of reality. Check it out.
When I open up my podcast app I often don't know what to listen to. Sometimes I'm not in a particular mood. That's when I go to The Moth. Each story is heartwarming and honest, totally genuine and usually make me cry at least a titch! Thank you to all Moth storytellers for sharing your wonderful stories :)
This is a wonderful podcast of real people telling short stories from their life experiences that are truly heart felt and beautiful. A must listen.
I love it. It's such a favorite.
Some episodes can be hit or miss if you aren't particularly invested in someone's story, but overall this is an incredibly well-produced show. I love listening to people share their experiences, and it's amazing how vulnerable people are willing to be when in a supportive atmosphere. Love it!
I really enjoy the variety of stories from all kinds of people. Really well done.
This is one of the best
By far the podcast that has me reevaluating my viewpoints the most. Thankful for the work put into this production.
I absolutely love this podcast!! It will make you cry, smile, and laugh.
Listened for years, great podcast.
The stories are incredible, and the storytellers are even better! I'm hooked!
This podcast allows me to see the world through the eyes of many different story tellers. I gain so much perspective about experiences and insights I never may have had myself.
Cannot live without these stories!
This podcast is basically people trying to make unfunny stories funny by telling in front of a live studio audience who laughs constantly at the unfunniness. It's quite annoying. Like someone who constantly laughs at their own unfunny jokes. I couldn't make it through a single episode...and I tried several times.
Seriously, every story has a gay person, trans person, non Christian, Islam believer or someone that only has bad things to say about Christianity. We are talking about a very minuscule group of the population that you are catering to. Where are the stories that the majority of people can relate to??? Very un-relatable.
I only dream of someday being able to tell a story out loud. So for now, I listen. Thanks!
I love the stories, but the banter between stories is annoying.
These stories can be raw, funny, emotional, or silly and they're all real. Brave storytellers!
Never knew I loved to listen until I came across this podcast
I love this podcast. It brings great stories from amazing people to the world. My frustration is that the audio mixing is pretty poor, having portions very loud and others inaudible. I'm only disappointed because I love the content so much. I hope this is improved in the future
This podcast is filled with storytellers that have made me cry as well as burst out laughing. You never know what you are going to get. Love it!
I highly recommend the Moth to any and everyone.
I can't get enough of this show and when I ran through its entire collection I went back to listen to the same shows over again!!
The stories are pretty interesting, but not always. Still some of the guests are funny as all get out. Really hilarious. Sometimes really funny. And frequentluy quite thought provoking.
Huge risk for sobbing at work
I've heard so many stories and have been to moth events. absolutely worth your time to listen or go see!
