Yes!!! (5/5)

Yes yes yes yes!! So creepy and REAL. And RAINN WILSON!!

The worst podcast I've ever heard (1/5)

Why did you guys go on and on about whether Amy Mihaljavic had been raped? What difference does it make to your pathetic cheap podcast which is a cash grab for a cheap buck? This is the worst podcast I've ever listened to. And the hosts go on and on about obvious facts we all know. It's insulting to our intelligence. I'd recommend True Crime Profile or Unsolved Murders instead. TCP especially has people who know what they are talking about and have knowledge to impart. This podcast is pathetic.

Game changer (5/5)

Thankful to you two! You make my hour commute more bearable. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Would be 5 stars with a different co-host (4/5)

Nic is great, his research and storytelling are some of the best I have found (rivaling Marcus Parks)- BUT the captain frequently derails the story by saying something unrelated OR something offensive. I saw another review that mentioned the “she must not have loved her dogs very much if she planned to kill herself” moment, comments like these break the narrative and are incredibly upsetting to persons with mental illness in their past or present. Possibly just offensive in general? It took me out of the episode and left me reeling as to how someone’s thought process can work that way. He contributes so little- find someone else to react/discuss, someone less problematic.

Too Many Unsolved Cases (4/5)

While I do like this podcast, I have found myself skipping many episodes due to the cases covered remaining unsolved. The unsolved cases seem to outnumber the solved ones. If this is an armchair detective podcast then I get it, but as a general true crime podcast I find it monotonous to listen to theories and unanswered questions for 2 hours, only to end up right back where we started. I enjoy their in depth analyses when we ultimately get to piece things together and learn the conclusion, but the theoretical chatter and endings of “we may never know” seem useless.

Keep ‘em coming! (5/5)

Love this True Crime podcast! I listen to many different podcasts but now the others are in between episodes of TCG. Nic does fantastic research and I really like the Captain’s music. I enjoy the back and forth between these two guys and I especially appreciate when they take the time to give different perspectives. I love that I can go on Stitcher and listen to old episodes. Keep the new ones coming and thanks, Nic and Captain, for the effort you put into each episode. CHEERS!🍻

Subscriber for years. (5/5)

I freaking love your podcast. The voices are so calm and yet hilarious at the same time with your jokes. I love how even if you get off topic for a second you get back to the true grit that is true crime. Love you guys. Keep it up.

Excellent Podcast (5/5)

I wish I was shraing beers with them on every episode.

Love it. (5/5)

I love your podcast. There is just one thing I would like to point out in the first Toni Sharpless episode. There are actually 2 tests that can be done to determine if a person has bipolar disorder. Because it is a genetic disease, it can be picked up on a blood test. Additionally, bipolar disorder can also be detected on a brain scan because there with be different active spots on the brain than a person who does not have a mood disorder.

Love it! (5/5)

By far one of my favorite all around podcasts! I really appreciate the back and forth banter between the guys! I only wish they could put more out! But, honestly these guys set the standard for any and all podcast, great host, content and production value! Keep it up!

Irresponsible comments on mental health and suicide (1/5)

I have listened to this podcast for years, and I have always excused Nick and the Captain for their occasional insensitive comments on mental health as I could tell that they meant no harm, even if they caused harm, but I can’t excuse them anymore. In this weeks episode statements such as “she didn’t actually care about her dogs that much if she didn’t stick around to be with them” were made in regards to a suicide theory about the case. This statement, as well as others made throughout the episode, I found disturbing. As a student of psychology and as someone waiting for acceptance into a graduate program focused on mental health, statements such as this cause irreparable harm for some people. As such, I made a comment addressing this issue on a post from one of the podcasts social media pages along side another concerned listener and ten hours later there has been no response from the page. That is why I am leaving this review. As well as the fact that if anyone potentially looking to listen has a mental health issue, perhaps they will see this and understand that this mentality may be present in episodes and it may be extremely triggering. TCG are great story tellers, and I have loved their content for years, but this has been a persistent issue for years, and I can’t stand beside it any longer. I hope they address this and in the process I can become a subscriber again.

The captain is awful (1/5)

This captain clown brings the podcast to a screeching halt every time he speaks! You talk like an idiot!

Love it! Nick and The Captain are great! (5/5)

This was one of the first true crime podcasts I found after being introduced to serial and all that is true crime podcasts. I’ve since ventured through a bunch out there and I gravitate towards True Crime Garage the most. The banter is great and the story telling never loses me. They never disappoint with the stories they find and how they tell them! Always a great listen and I highly recommend!

Gold medal (5/5)

This podcast has been the since day one! Cheers!

Show is so good! (5/5)

I love this show. I look forward to it every week. Nic tells a great story. The captain gets on my last mf’n nerve, but I’ve still listened to every episode I can find.

Solid true crime podcast (5/5)

These guys are great. It makes me sad to see the captain get so much hate in the reviews. Hes a talented musician and keeps a good balance to the show

Picky & I love it (5/5)

I love crime podcasts that are wrapped up in one or two episodes! I love the banter and the stories they choose. I swap between them and Crime Junkie to experience the all female vs. all male story-telling each week. The AMOUNT of episodes they have is ridiculous. There are plenty for me to binge! You’re great guys! May not be for some people’s taste, but this girl is obsessed.

My Favorite Podcast (5/5)

I love listening to this podcast! Great content and I love the back and forth between the hosts with little jokes tossed in by the Captain here and there :) keep up the great work!!

5 stars for Colonel, 0 for Capitan (5/5)

I could binge this if it weren’t for the Capitan. Don’t get my wrong, I’ve listened for a long time. I just can’t listen to very many in a row because of him. He’s terrible! His insights are so far out of left field most of the time. I don’t know how Colonel doesn’t tell him to shut up in every episode. There are times you can catch his irritation though. I just don’t know why he’s on the show. Colonel is great! I love how in depth he goes and he always has a good grasp on every storyline. He’s easy to listen to and has a knack for telling the story.

I’m extremely picky when listening to podcasts, this is truly the only podcast that I constantly listen to. My parents introduced me to this podcast and ever since then, I have been listening to each episode and even re-listen to some episodes. Put together very well. Good balance of humor and respect! Good job Xoxo, JR

Good stuff, dig the jib! (5/5)

Great show, love listening and sipping. TX

Best podcast !!! (5/5)

This is my go to podcast when I’m cleaning or driving!!!

badly needs female perspective (3/5)

I really like this show and have been listening for a while. it is well researched and well done. but oh my goodness sometimes when they are speculating on things from a female mind or female victims etc. it shows how badly they need a female perspective on the show. it would round out the analysis nicely. they often speculate on things as men they really could not understand.

You won’t be disappointed! (5/5)

I’m super picky about who and what I listen to, and these guys have surpassed my favorites. I listen to Nic and the captain all day everyday and crack up at some of the captains sarcasm.

Captain (1/5)

Ruins this show. I’m sorry Pat, but you’re holding Nic back from truly monetizing this show. Either way, I’m afraid you guys missed the bubble. Nic you could’ve done something and had a show or series with the right partner but you didn’t so hopefully you kept your jobs because the ship is sinking. Catchphrases and memorabilia are only things that “douche canoes do, cheers mate.” I’ll be right back after this word from a woman’s hair dying ad.

A weekly favorite (5/5)

I am a long time listener of the Colonel and the Captain and am picky about the podcasts that I listen to. Sound and production quality is important but so is the conversation style and these two wrap it up in an enjoyable, factual package that is not boring to listen to. Keep it coming! Cheers mates, and remember to be good, be kind and don’t litter.

Dudes (5/5)

Love you guys. Well researched, well written. But for the love of all that is holy Nick, it’s DRAW not “Drawl”.

Awesome show (5/5)

Love the show, but I swear sometimes the Captain is out in left field. Some of his assessments, or accusations are insane. You can tell sometimes the other guy just wants to tell him to be quiet!

The captain (5/5)

The captain is awesome

Nope...I’m Done (1/5)

I’ve listened to TCG since the beginning and have mostly enjoyed it, in spite of the frequent lack of preparation, poor narration, recycling of stories that have been done to death, and simplistic understanding of crime, criminals, victimology, etc. The recent episode about Elyse Pahler (may she Rest In Peace) is the end for me, though. Notwithstanding Nick and The Captain’s personal opinion on Slayer and their music, it is irresponsible to blame anyone or anything except the three monsters who murdered Elyse. Music does not incite violence. Literature does not incite violence. That’s why the Pahler’s attempt to pursue legal action against Slayer did not go forward: it has no merit. I understand the impulse for a parent to blame anyone else for such a monumental loss, but Slayer did not incite or inspire the murder of Elyse, any more than The Beatles caused Charles Manson and Co. to murder nor did Marilyn Manson make the Columbine killers to shoot up their high school. As further illustration, both Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest were sued by parents who blamed the artists for their sons’ respective completed suicides. Both artists were found not guilty in court. Likewise, A Catcher in the Rye didn’t make Mark David Chapman murder John Lennon, nor has any Stephen King short story inspired any school shooter. I’m not going to listen to anyone who is dumb enough to entertain such nonsense. Byyyyyyyeeee.

Love your Podcast! (5/5)

Love your content! Could you cover the Chris Watts case?

Gold Standard of Crime Podcasts (5/5)

These guys cover the stories in depth, keep their speculation informed and brief, avoid vicitm blaming, treat the police fairly, and don't insert themselves into the cases. In other words, they act like journalists rather than podcasters, which is exactly what this medium needs a lot more of. The production quality is excellent, too. Nick and the Captain definitely don't need another 5-star review (they've already got 18,000 of those) so if people are still compelled to give them positive reviews, it's obvious this show is great.

Love The show ❤️❤️ (5/5)

I love this show! Keep up the good work #TeamCaptain

The best! (5/5)

The best crime podcast of them all!

My fave ❤️ (5/5)

I love these guys! By far, my favorite podcast.

This makes me sad, but..... (2/5)

This was one of my most favorite podcasts for years. But recently, I just can’t stand it anymore... I can’t take the Captain any longer as sad as it makes me. He has always been out there but at this point it’s more of him interrupting every 5 seconds, instead of adding something useful to the conversation. It was fun while it lasted.

Entertaining and very well put together (5/5)

Great couple of guys warning us that douche canoes are closer than they appear.

Not the best hosts. (3/5)

I love true crime and was excited to find a podcast that talked about it and had lots of episodes for me to binge. I do not love the hosts, however. After listening to about 10 episodes I’ve noticed a trend of victim blaming- specifically blaming female victims- saying things like, She had multiple opportunities to escape, why didn’t she even try? Well guys, I’m not sure if you’ve ever been in a captive situation where you’re afraid for your life and you are 100% sure that the person holding you captive can over power you at any given moment and has your life in his hands, but if you haven’t, maybe don’t comment on what you’d do in the situation. Captain always sounds like he’s drunk and slurring his words, not to mention whatever voice he tries to do is extremely creepy and reminds me of the serial killer Doctor No. Nic is not as bad as Captain and I don’t notice him to victim blame as much- although he usually goes along with Captain and agrees with his views. Overall I think to make this show better, I would pick a different cohost and get rid of the insensitive and creepy “Captain”.

Let’s get to the businessssssssss (5/5)

I love this podcast and mostly because of the hosts, duh. Can’t go wrong with beer and true crime, although I am working while I listen so no beer for me. Add this podcast to your listening list, the captain is pretty funny and Nic keeps podcast on topic and flow. Anyhow just give it a listen and you decide

Fun, Well-researched, Studly (5/5)

I look forward to every Tuesday and Wednesday night coming home to settle in and delve down rabbit holes with these two studs! Thank you and don’t stop it coming boys!

Great podcast duo and storytelling (5/5)

I discovered TCG later in the game, but I'm glad I did. I've gone back and binged the whole podcast while I'm working. I enjoy the Captain and Nic, their opinions and storytelling as well as the great music. A must listen!

Scuse me! It’s Tuesday ! That is, a day after Monday, that is, a day after a new Part 1. That is, Tuesday’s are for Part 2. I don’t see a new part 1 & 2. YALL CANT DO THAT SOME OF US RELY ON YALL! Captain don’t do me like this!

Trucking Johnny (5/5)

Best true crime podcast I’ve come across so far. Nick and the Captain work well together, they make the stories interesting and sometime crack me up, especially when the Captain has had a few. Cheers 🍺🍺

TCG marathon (5/5)

Hi, I’m in episode 23 and just started Monday. Hello, i love you guys Nick & Captain you chemistry is amazing, I can’t stop listening you make it fun and teach me new beers. Great podcast. Don’t litter.

You guys make a difference!! (5/5)

Totally addicted! Captain, you do a fantastic job with sound and music. Nick, I could listen to your voice for hours. You guys cover so many great cases. I am an Indiana gal so special thanks for covering Lauren Spierer, Delphi girl murders, and all the others. Thank you for contributing your part to help solve these cases. It makes a difference!

Best ! (5/5)

One of the best true crime podcasts around! So well researched !

Ok podcast (3/5)

I want into this podcast for a while, but I can’t deal with “the captain.” His comments are so off the wall and when he interrupts nick to state the obvious I get so annoyed. I love the music and stories, but I can’t listen anymore.

Love! (5/5)

The guys always bring excellent content, and their perspectives are right on, usually. I always get excited when a new episode drops! Nick and the Captain are top tier true crime!

Absolute Favorite 💕 (5/5)

Love this podcast!!!

Actually prefer the Captain (5/5)

I actually love the Captain. Nic is okay but I need someone with some true passion and anger towards dipshits and evil killers. The Captain has been awesome in the last two weeks. Great job!

Fantastic True Crime Podcasts (5/5)

True Crime Garage is simply fantastic! Nick and the Captain are wonderful hosts who do their research and present captivating stories in a very entertaining way. Now if only they would seek live audiences for their garage stage the world would be complete! Cheryl Wistrom ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of my Favorites (5/5)

This is one of my favorites. I agree Nick is awesome! Captain is hard to get used too. I know he seems to really like playing devils advocate, but the interruptions get old.

Nope (1/5)

This is one of the worst true crime podcasts I’ve heard. It’s so hard to get through. So boring and “The Captain” is so off putting and creepy it’s just a train wreck.

Has potential (1/5)

“The captain” is everything wrong with this podcast.

Get Off Your Soap Box! (1/5)

Quit Preaching! Get off your box and just report the cases. I don’t want to hear your opinion on every little thing. Stick to the facts of the case.

Where can i listen to the captain’s music? (5/5)

It’s dope

Yo! (5/5)

In every event of the Olympics they should have an average person compete so we can have a point of reference and appreciate the athletes more......................this podcast is pretty good too.

Turning into a favorite!! (5/5)

I’ve been listening to Nic and The Captain for years! While other podcast hosts have slowly gotten on my nerves by preaching politics, and being generally annoying, these hosts are sticking with the content we come here to hear. I even forgive them some of their Ohio pronunciations, 😂 as they are so sincere. (drawling, hahaha!!!) Keep up the great work guys!

Great show (5/5)

Love the topic and the way it’s presented.

I think I’m in love! (5/5)

Have to say that y’all are amazing! I seriously cannot stop listening y’alls podcast since I was told about it a couple weeks ago! I have been binge listening, and don’t k ow what I am going to do after I am all caught up!! Recommended beer: KC Bier Company, Dunkel. Or KC boulevard. Kansas City, KS Brianne (pronounced like Brian) briannebert3@gmailcom

Nic and Captain are the best! (5/5)

I love to listen to these guys. Nic and Captain are very entertaining and always have a lot of facts on the cases they present. Best pod cast around. Keep up the great work guys. You both are the best!!

Can’t stop listening (5/5)

I love this show! These guys are relatable and knowledgeable. The rapport between the guys keeps heavy subject matter light as needed without being over the top. And they have good taste in beer! Keep up the good work guys.

The Captain ruins it (2/5)

Nick is OK but wow the captain is comically awful. Always staying the obvious and interrupting Nick with irrelevant points. He honestly sounds hammered every episode. I can’t listen anymore because of him.

I came for the true crime, I stay for those voices 🖤 (5/5)

I attempted to listen to this podcasts MONTHS ago and I just couldn’t get onboard, but I recently tried again and I’m in love with this podcast!!! I suggest it to just about everyone that likes True Crime and a bit of banter. Keep it up and keep it coming 😎

Love these boys (5/5)

I was a bit hesitant at first, but as you dive into a few episodes you really get to know their distinct personalities and begin to appreciate their particular strengths. Captains dry sense of humor is like the shows ID and adds a light touch to some pretty heavy subject matter, and Nicks ability to point out some of the more chilling elements of how a crime went down (e.g. bridge guys hurried pace towards the Delphi girls) really brings a unique take to some of the most saturated stories out there. Keep up the good work boys!

Lose the ‘captain’ (2/5)

Really enjoy Nick’s take on each case , but for Pete’s sake, LOSE THE “CAP’T.” Good grief! There is zero chemistry with these two and it lies solely at the feet of the ‘captain’. It’s a shame that they don’t read these many reviews and see how he affects the ratings and the show. He’s rude, ridiculous and totally out of touch. He sounds wasted most of the time and contributes NOTHING of value to the conversation. Let him do his own solo podcast and all his admirers can follow him there. PLEASE Nick, either go solo or get another host!!

Awesome shows from day 1 (5/5)

love love this show. Have been listening since day1. Keep up the awesome shows!

Missing white women syndrome (2/5)

A podcast that mostly focuses on white women. They are not the only victims of crime.

Captain is annoying (3/5)

Well researched and interesting material, but the captain is so annoying...has immature, inappropriately timed commentary.

Playing catch up! (5/5)

Just listened to 302 and nearly had a heart attack when Nick said “Longview, Washington”. Never knew my hometown had a sinister history. Thanks for the hours of entertainment!

Could be better (4/5)

This is a great show, love the research and chill vibe. I feel like there’s too much rambling however, like most of the shows could be one part. Just give us the good stuff, none of the fluff. Other than that the show is great! Thank you!!

Favorite podcast! (5/5)

I listen at work and sometimes I have to limit myself so I can binge listen occasionally. I have never been much for podcasts but this is by far the best true crime podcast that brings humor in an appropriate fashion and great outside the box thinking on these cases. It’s very important to keep these cases in the spotlight so I applaud them for doing just that!

I really wanted to like but... (1/5)

I really want to like this podcast but they did something that so many podcast do for some reason! They played the sound of a beer can opening and pouring into a glass right before advertising the beer they were “drinking” honestly the sound makes me sick and loses them 4 stars from me. Other than that good podcast for true crime.

Stop monetizing tragedy with merchandise (2/5)

The captain seems to be out of it at times and completely on another planet. I hate how much hey remind The listeners they have merch store. Enough monetizing tragedy. And, please work on pronouncing words you intend do use in your episodes.

So good!!!!!! (5/5)

I’m so glad I just found this podcast.well researched and I’m always learning something new about each case. Can’t wait to binge them all!

1 bottle cap (1/5)

I've listened to every episode until recently. I think your egos are getting the best of you. Or maybe it's just that I finally can't stand to listen to any more mispronounciations and you guys believing that cops are Gods.

Excellent True Crime Podcast (5/5)

Good info provided by guys who are relatable.

Overall I really like it, hard to binge though (4/5)

I've listened to this pod for quite a long time and I like it but I find it hard to binge a lot of episodes because most stories are multiple parts and the second or third parts of most of the stories tend to be a bit rambly and kind of drones on and it feels like the story could have been wrapped up a while ago and nothing would have been lost. I like the hosts though. They're naturals and they seem to have good chemistry and that beer cracking sound effect at the beginning ALWAYS makes me want a beer, haha. Overall I really like it but I think most stories drag on a little longer than they really need to.

I love this podcast! (5/5)

You guys have a well run podcast! I love it! Can you please cover the holly bobo case? Out of Decatur Tennessee? Love to hear your insights on it.

Love it (5/5)

Love the cut of their jib. They keep me living at work. I would love to hear about a local mystery. Dale Dinwiddie.

Best voices to fall asleep to (4/5)

Thank you

Great podcast! (5/5)

Great podcast and very organized! Would you consider covering the Heather Rich murder case at some point?

Best Crime Podcast out there! (5/5)

Listen every week

Big fan! (5/5)

Listen to this podcast religiously each week. Love it!

One of the top five true crime podcasts! Smashing! (5/5)

First question though — why didn’t you mention the psychic who predicted that the unsub’s name would be a variation of “Brown” in your recent case?! I was waiting for that punchline through the entire episode as it was one of the few psychic “predictions” that turned out to be (sort of) true?!! As usual, the Captain was hilarious. Second (honestly I could write forever advocating the brilliance of the guys). Just subscribe to True Crime Garage today. They combine a marvelous wittiness with a careful exploration of the cases they cover. They know how to tell a captivating story, and yet they always express tremendous sympathy for the victims of these terrible crimes. They are mature guys — they can crack jokes but they never slip into callous accounts of crimes or make jokes at the expense of the victims, which many “comedy” true crime podcasts DO as they can’t find the dividing line. True Crime Garage is definitely in the top five of true crime podcasts, and I recommend it highly! Love the cut of their jibs!

My absolute favorite podcast (5/5)

I listen to a lot of different true crime podcasts. They are my favorite and look forward to them each week.

The best!! (5/5)

Love this show. These guys are so knowledgeable and love the info they provide. You can tell they do their research. And their funny too!

Love Nic and the Captain (5/5)

These two are amazing. Nic really brings it every week with the material and the Captain creates awesome music, produces the whole show, adds a side of light-heartedness needed in true crime podcasting.

Thoroughly researched and informative (5/5)

Well-researched, really interesting cases

Captain is sinking the ship.. (1/5)

Nick is absolutely made for podcasting. His voice, the research he does, and the way he presents his case is very admirable. That being said it would be incredible to hear him finish a sentence or thought without being interrupted by "the captain" for some flop one liner or to hear "this guys a douche canoe" Yea buddy. We know. Let the guy that's carrying the podcast make his point

the captain makes it painful (2/5)

This show would greatly benefit by just having Nick

Oh man... (1/5)

So boring... im a fan of True Crime Stories but sorry to say this guys your voices and tones are so boring. Like painfully boring. I feel like im listening to two old men sharing a beer at a bar making small talk about crimes. Excruciating Painfully Boring.

Favorite Podcast (5/5)

Every case is so enthralling, I LOVE how they include details I can’t find on other podcasts. I legit look forward to the new episodes ever week.

Hunting in a park in Malibu? (1/5)

Come on boys. It’s Los Angeles.

Love it! (5/5)

The first podcast I’ve ever listened to. I download every episode to this day and listen at work! Thanks Guys for the amazing content!

Addicted!! (5/5)

I love Nic and Captain! I am addicted to this podcast! I have listed to all the episodes and am like a kid at Christmas when a new episode comes out. My husband already knows DO NOT DISTURB when I am listening lol

I Like Yo Jib (5/5)

Captain, you’ve got a voice that was made to podcast. Nick, you look nothing like I expect you to from your voice. Great show you guys, keep it up! George, Huntington, Long Island NY

Love TCG (5/5)

One of the very first podcasts I listened too, still a favorite!

Tuesday night ROCKS! (5/5)

We love Nic and the Capitan!

The Best True Crime podcast EVER!!! (5/5)

I look forward to Tuesday’s every week! They are enjoyable to listen to and I love the banter.

Just a couple of dudes drinking beer and talking about true crime (5/5)

I love these guys. Very informative and they always keep me interested. I think I know everything there is to know about a case and then they go and drop something new on me. I really like their perspective and the laid back approach. I’d love to sit and discuss true crime with Nic and the Captain over a beer (or bourbon). Just a couple of cool dudes speaking my language.

PLEASE pronounce! (3/5)

DRAWL and DRAWLING, in addition to the monotonous, cotton-stuffed tone, make this podcast very hard to listen to.

Best in the business (5/5)

Nic and the captain have great chemistry. The cases are always interesting. I’m always looking forward to a new episode. ”I like the cut of your jib”

My favorite podcast by far (5/5)

I look forward to my TCG podcasts each week. Love the banter between Nick and The Captain along with their weekly selections.

Awesome podcast (5/5)

Great podcast. Love these guys. Captain is HILARIOUS. Love his side comments. 😂

Best podcast I’ve ever heard. (5/5)

I came across this podcast by accident.thought I’ll give it a try.its the best podcast I’ve ever heard.Nic has a great voice.and together he and Captain are brilliant together.i haven’t heard every episode yet but I’m working on it.

5 and 3/4 bottle caps out of 5 (5/5)

Love this show. Nic and the Captain provide a good presentation of the cases and the facts seem to be well-researched. I love the format and that they provide just the right amount of humor. Thanks guys!

Pure awesomeness (5/5)

I listen on sticher all day at work and on my drive, I have all my coworkers listening. I love the dynamic between Nick and the Captain. And the Captains ability to speak his mind is truly a plus to the podcast, and nicks smooth voice sounds like he could be related to the great Art Laboe. Keep up the good work

For those looking for a deep dive: don’t waste your time (2/5)

This podcast is obviously hugely popular, so it’s possible I’m just missing the appeal, but: If you’re looking for a deep dive into, well, anything, this podcast is not for you. Episodes consist of a short summary of an unsolved case, a run-down of the publicly known facts, and then nothing but heavy speculation about one or two obviously pivotal parts of the case. Literally- just speculation. I’m sure lots of time goes into the research of each case and you’ll certainly get the highlights, but there really isn’t enough substance in these episodes to fill a full hour-ish. (This review might appeal to Up&Vansished, To Live and Die in LA, Serial, or Hell and Gone type listeners)

Great guys, informative podcast (5/5)

Definitely recommend for arm chair detectives. Great podcast!! Keep them coming!! :-)

The Best (5/5)

These guys are by far the best true crime podcasters out there!

Boring (2/5)

Love the stories, but the delivery is monotone and not captivating at all.

Skepticism Overload (2/5)

I usually accept your theories on most shows but I really was taken back on your take in regards to Sherri Peninni case. You gave a whole 30 seconds to the actual possibility she was telling the truth. Some of the reporting like she kicked in her sisters door 13 years earlier?? That doesn’t even seem likely or possible or have anything to do with an abduction. Normally I don’t write a review but this one just made me shake my head. Do better guys!!

My absolute favorite! (5/5)

I’m a long time listener and I’ve also maybe re-listened to the whole series from the beginning more than once... but I can neither confirm nor deny. A lot of true crime focuses more on comedy and less on facts. These guys delve way in and I can’t get enough.

Nick and The Captain (5/5)

This is hands down one is the best TRP on the block. This one makes work bearable. I download some of the old episodes so I can listen at work. Keep up the great work!

Awesome!! (5/5)

Just recently started listening due to all the great feedback. Love it! I’m already addicted. Very intelligent, informative and interesting. Also, makes me laugh - sometimes The Captain will go off on some crazy tangent (which reminds me of someone that’s smoked some good stuff) and Nic will snap at him with something like “I’m not clear what your point is.” Hosts are a good combo.

Papini (5/5)

I am so fricking glad someone is covering and stoked it you two. The early days of thepapinis sub on Reddit was fascinating. For the love of god I hope ya’ll cover Cameron Gamble.

Addicted and not ashamed. (5/5)

I can’t stop listening to True Crime Garage. I’m actually listening to all their old podcasts over on Stitcher as well. Not only are Nick and The Captain entertaining, they’re hilarious and super knowledgable about the cases they discuss. They really do try to present just the facts and I think that lacks in a lot of true crime I’ve seen/heard. Love the podcast, guys, it feels like I’m chilling in the garage having a beer each week!

Gotta have it (5/5)

Podcasts come and podcasts go, but YOURS is one of the few for which I count down the days until the next episode. Captain’s contribution as of late is more worth while. Seriously, at 70 years old, I budget my time ... I listen at 1 1/2 speed ... not much time to waste on less than stellar podcasts. NanaNan, PC Junkie ‘Drawl’ ‘Sawl’ ya, bugs me but that’s the way some English people pronounce ‘Draw’ & ‘Saw’

Angel Downs (5/5)

Can you cover Angel Downs’ death? It’s so strange and it involves a politician

Extrapolate too much (3/5)

You literally spoke for 4 minutes about people you weren’t going to name in the Bakersfield podcast. Just say your not naming anyone and move on blah blah blah

? (5/5)

I don’t get all the hate on the Captain. So he throws his two cents in. It is his podcast as well. He brings up interesting thoughts. Nothing wrong with that. Love this podcast.

Love the show (5/5)

I really enjoy the way you guys lay the cases out and talk about all the possible things that could’ve happened. I love the way you two interact. The captains jokes and the way Nic does or does not acknowledge them. The music is stellar. And I love that beer is tied into it. AND the reading list!

Almost unlistenable (4/5)

The “captain “ doesn’t quite ruin this podcast...but almost. And, does anyone else take a shot when they say RABBIT HOLE, DRAWL or SAWL??

My absolute favorite! (5/5)

This is my favorite podcast! You guys kill it every week! Thank you so so much! I can’t get enough! Ban the Van and don’t litter!

Mediocre (3/5)

Poorly researched cases that have been covered by better podcasts are frequent here. Cases where existent information is barely enough to have one podcast are stretched in two or three shows. The podcasters frequently focus on irrelevant details.

Love it (5/5)

Just stumbled onto this podcast and am already bingeing . Love the statistics they do on the towns. Keep it up!

Ban the van ! (5/5)

I look forward to the release every week!

Nick... (5/5)

The captain is the truth

Hit or Miss (3/5)

I was obsessed with this show, but the captain really drives me nuts. Constantly interrupting and his thought process is a bit wonky. Drives me nuts. Overall a good listen though.

Yes! (5/5)

New to the show, late to the party as usual. Love it. The vibe, the story telling, the music, the beer. Spot on gentlemen! I have 1 tiny complaint I need your old episodes on Apple Podcast. I have so many issues with Stitcher. I had to stop listening, because the app booted me all the time. Any chance they will be back on Apple?

❤️❤️❤️ (5/5)

I like your jib too 💋

Comic Book Guys says “ Best podcast ever” (5/5)

This has been my favorite podcast for many years. They pick fascinating cases and present the stories in detailed and compelling ways, and they do so with respectful humor. This is the go to podcast. Grad a chair, grab a brew and listen to this awesome podcast.

Love the show (5/5)

I just stumbled upon your podcast and I love it! It’s my first ever podcast and I enjoy it. Makes me want to go home and have a beer. I just tried Rhinegeist and it’s an awesome brand of beer.

Love This Podcast (5/5)

These guys really know how to talk true crime.

I like em (5/5)

I’ve recently added them to my top podcasts, it’s hard to find new ones to listen to when you get attached to your usuals ..and since I can’t just listen without binging I needed a new one to binge. So. Glad I came upon them.

Legal addiction (5/5)

Started listening to this podcast this summer while doing some home renovations and I was instantly hooked. Love the cases they pick, love their banter and love that they are fellow Buckeyes! Can’t get enough of this one!!!

Great True Crime Podcast (5/5)

They really do a great job breaking down cases and are entertaining to listen to.

Amazing! (5/5)

I’ve been listening to true crime garage for years now and I absolutely love Nic and the captain. I used to have a 2 hour drive each morning and TCG made those drives super enjoyable!

Loving the Podcast (5/5)

Stumbled upon your podcast after finishing up another and looking for something True Crime to dive into. I noticed that not all of your episodes are on iTunes so I went to Stitcher to start at #1. I think that both Nic and the Captain make a great pair. I especially enjoy the recommended reading as well. I would enjoy to hear your take on Israel Keyes and would love to hear you do a show on him. I know how much you have stated you enjoy Truth from rhinegiest, but you should give Panther a try, It is one of my favorite dark beers. Much love from Cincy.

Outstanding Podcast (5/5)

I have been listening to TCG since the beginning. I have listened to every episode & even found myself listening to some episodes 2-3 times. I have both of my degrees in Criminal Justice & currently work in the field. I have always had a passion for “True Crime.” These guys do an outstanding job covering cases. I will always strongly support these guys & will continue to spread the word. This is most definitely a 5***** Podcast. Keep up the great work & hope we can grow this Podcast to #1. Once again, this is the one of the best True Crime shows around. Keep kicking butt!!

Love this podcast! (5/5)

This is the first podcast I ever listened to, and I am so glad that I found it! I never let a day pass after an episode is released before I listen. Nic and the Captain have an awesome chemistry. You can tell they both genuinely care about the victims and families in their cases. Even though they are hilarious, it is never inappropriate or rude. I hope they never stop making content!

Ok (2/5)

The captain is awful. He literally brings nothing to the show and I think he might be actually retarded. Anyway the other guy is cool. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not my Pod (1/5)

Although I tried, I just can’t get into the stories. You have great voices, but I’m out... Good luck babes!!!

Good but annoying (3/5)

You can tell Nic does the research and presents what he can find on the case, but the guy that goes by “Captain” sounds dumb when he talks. I don’t know if he’s drunk or high but when he opens his mouth there’s really nothing that makes sense or that contributes to the discussion.

👍🏼 (5/5)

Great podcast!! With some pretty cool dudes!! My husband and I are hooked. We enjoy listing we like the music and learning about new beers! We love how detailed Nic and captain are. It’s definitely worth taking a dive into🙂 Love Shelby and Chris from Virginia

the captain is insufferable (1/5)

he rambles on about things he clearly knows nothing about. he is like a dog chasing a bone. he does not understand reason or nuance. he is a simple-minded creature who lacks a sense of humor. he should stick to what he is clearly good at - being baked. he totally ruins a podcast that would otherwise be pretty good.

No bad (5/5)

Worth a listen. Voice do not annoy me so that is a plus.

Love it (5/5)

I love listening to Nick and the Captain. They make it so interesting to listen to they give a lot of details and yet have some comical areas to give a break. I really like this episode because I live in Magalia, Ca and I know the area where they are talking about it. Thank you for bringing up the Campfire too. It was on November 8, 2018.

Love this! (5/5)

Great podcast!

Glad I Found! (5/5)

This podcast was recommended by someone I follow on Twitter. I started listening a few days ago and I am binging like crazy. Nic and Captain have smart yet hilarious banter while sharing these stories with respect. Great production and high quality. I highly suggest any true crime fan to give this podcast a try. You won’t be sorry!

What the heck (1/5)

What the heck?! He’s just reading random reports he’s found online! Umm... What??

The Captain is awful... (3/5)

I really enjoy true crime stories and like this podcast for the most part. Nic is great, but The Captain is just awful. He tries soooo hard to be funny, but falls flat 99.9% of the time. In addition to his cringe worthy humor, he adds very little constructive talking points to the conversation / story. His sense of humor and personality is a horrible match for a true crime podcast. PLEASE GET A NEW CO-HOST!

Crap (1/5)

A ex mall cop and dj are smarter than detectives in solving all the crimes!!!! Brace yourselves they’ve solved how many crimes????

Perfect for my long drives to work! (5/5)

I listened to other podcasts before this one on true crime and I love this one so much because they go into much greater detail, and their research seems to be very well put together, and they give it the respect it should have. Captain is hilarious, and I enjoy the beer reviews at the beginning. Easily the most entertaining podcast for me.

Long Time Listener (3/5)

Well researched and mostly well presented, mostly thoughtful speculation, sensitive discussions of horrific crimes with doses of comic relief. The comic relief isn’t always funny. Good listener and beer appreciation. Most of the time I like the cut of their jib. Too many advertisements these days. Music and voices are adversely affected by over-compression. The voices sound squeezed unnatural, and music suffers from pumping. Otherwise nice tracks.

Love the show! (5/5)

My favorite podcast ever! Everything about the show is great; from the cases they cover to Captain’s voice!

Reduclious (5/5)

Ummm what!?!

true crime podcasts (5/5)

I've been listening to various other true crime podcasts to fill in the spaces between TCG episodes. The Captain and Nic have been my favorites for years and that has not changed. Thanks guys!

The backpack murders (5/5)

True crime garage does an ok job on this case but if you really wanna hear great true crime stories on ‘‘tis case look up casefile podcast the belango woods murders.

Rediculous (5/5)

It always boggles my mind when a girl won’t date in her own race what fool minded girl

Best Cast in the Genre (5/5)

Hands down the Kings of True Crime

These guys do it right (5/5)

I am a voracious true crime fan, so I've been around the block on unsolved mystery /serial killer content. I'm pretty picky and both Nick and the Captain are awesome. Nick is so thorough in his research, and I love how much time you both spend deliberating (you really get a maximum amount of discussion out of each case, so you aren't left wanting.) The Captain is really funny and adds the right amount of levity but the show still remains largely serious. Great podcast personalities on a subject I love! Not to mention how much beer I drink...

Beer and True Crime (5/5)

I can’t even express how fresh and entertaining these guys are every episode. I’ve started from their first episodes and have been non-stop listening ever since. I appreciate how they keep their listeners updated on more recent cases as information is presented. What makes this podcast stick out from the rest? Have you ever watched Drunk History? It’s kinda the same aspect with a true crime twist! I mean, what’s better than true crime with a little alcohol added into the conversation. These guys make a great duo!

Feed me (5/5)

Love it Comprehensive and entertaining

My favorite true crime podcast (5/5)

Love the humor, musicality, and great story telling. You guys rock. Go Bucks!

Love your podcast (5/5)

Guys, let me start with I spend a lot of time listening to your podcasts. I’m a traveling service tech and drive thousands of miles per month, since I found your podcast I never listen to anything else! Your story telling and commentary is excellent. I like the facts that you tell and the comedy as well. Thanks for keeping the garage going and supplying plenty of content for me to listen to. I hope there is many more years for the garage and many more beers as well. Cheers!!

I’m addicted!!! (5/5)

I absolutely love your show Nic and Captain. I recently discovered podcasts and I’m addicted to True Crime Garage. You guys do an amazing job researching the content and I love the chemistry you guys have. It feels like I’m in the garage having a beer with you. I’m a beer connoisseur and I’m excited to try some of the beers you guys recommend. If you guys ever have an opportunity to try Upland brewery from Indiana please do. I am really into sour beers and they have some of the best. The Prim is one of my absolute favorites. Keep up the good work!!!!

Usually great (3/5)

Love the podcast. Nick is great, but I have really mixed feelings about the captain. He can be really funny, but he also has really insensitive moments where he victim blames and crosses the line between being lighthearted and being rude or cruel

Best podcast out there (5/5)

I can honestly say no other true crime podcast compares to this one. I love how they talk about the cases from all angles taking every possibility into account where some others are very biased in opinion. Also, aren’t their voices just the most soothing? I think so.

They drink on this program, it shows. (1/5)

I swear these two can’t even follow their own storylines. They constantly contradict each other on the “facts” of the cases.

Love the Captain (5/5)

I’ve been listening to this podcast for years! Love them! The Captain always makes me laugh regardless of the topic and I love the way Nic presents the story. One of my favorite podcasts!

Interesting cases (5/5)

Love this podcast. Interesting cases that are well researched and love the Captain’s music

Decent but often wrong (3/5)

I like the podcast but there is a lot of misinformation being repeated. The captain seems like he is really baked because some of the stuff he says is nonsensical. Seems like a nice guy though.

Ugh (1/5)

Can’t listen to the Lords of Bakersfield-too graphic

Great podcast (5/5)

Captain is my favorite. Love his humor.

My only friends are The Captain and Nic (5/5)

These guys make it feel like you’re drinking a beer in the garage with them. I live alone and tend to only talk to my cats; I find myself responding to the Captain’s off-hand comments and dry jokes since Nic just keeps going. I guess the content is good, too 😆

Lords of Bakersfield (5/5)

I’m from Bakersfield, so I was excited to see the guys do a show centered here, even though it’s a terrible topic. I’ve never heard these stories. I loved this podcast before, but now that I’ve heard a local story from my lesser known city, I’m hooked! Keep up the great work guys!

Absolutely the best T.C Podcast out there!!! (5/5)

Information on the show is as accurate as possible on the cases. Great balance between respecting the family, victims and law enforcement while providing an entertaining and informative show!

48 hours (almost) straight (5/5)

My daughter and I drove from very northern Indiana to South Padre Island. I had downloaded a different true crime show and it became quickly apparent it would not do. My daughter said she had a good one to listen to, and so for the entire drive down and back we listened to True Crime garage. I’m hooked.

What? (4/5)

I like the show but the Captain needs to speak the hell up. I hear about 1/3 of what he says.

Lords of Bakersfield (1/5)

This was the first episode that I listened to; I may gave you another try at some point. But my father was a police officer and yeah, they do bad things 🙄.

#TCGandChill (5/5)

Concluding my evenings with the Colonel & the Captain? I’ll cheers to that. Garage grade 5 out of 5 bottlecaps for this podcast.

My favorite ❤️ (5/5)

Love the funny hosts, attention to detail, long episodes!

One of My Favorites (5/5)

I just recently started listening to podcasts and I started y’all’s from the beginning. I really enjoy the level of research that is put into the cases y’all cover as well as the back and forth between the two of you. Thanks for including new cases I’ve never heard of!

One of the best (5/5)

Been listening since day one and Nic and The Captain have hit their stride. Great stories, production and chemistry. I also look forward to the new ORIGINAL music each episode from The Captain, who has grown on me, especially after hearing his personal story on The Peripheral podcast. I don’t enjoy any true crime podcasts that have more than one host, besides Generation Why, but Nic and The Captain are ALWAYS my go-to every week. Keep up the good work! Oh.....and don’t litter.

The Best (5/5)

As an Ohio native and a fellow true crime lover this is absolutely my favorite podcast. Nic and the Captain have a great chemistry and there’s always a bit of humor mixed in to lighten it up (not in a disrespectful way). I have been obsessed ever since I found the show and listen to it whenever I can.

The Captain (5/5)

The Captain cracks me up. They don’t make fun or light of the situation but the Captain is so uncensored; it’s so legit! If you love Crime Junkie- you’ll love this podcast. Great combination of hosts and knowledge.

Not bad (4/5)

Not bad but captain guy remarks are dumb wish he wasn’t there

One of the best! (5/5)

This podcast is just overall well rounded and excellent. The integrity of the hosts, their humor and speculation, the music, just everything about it is amazing.

Love it (5/5)

This is one of the best true crime podcasts. The guys have a great dynamic and every episode is well researched

Love to listen (5/5)

I listen every single week. Thank you for always entertaining me and bringing me the facts

A good listen (3/5)

I like the show and I have been listening for only about 2 months now but I commute a lot so I’ve been able to listen to quite a few. I end up skipping the first 45secs as it’s just requesting donations and thanking those donations for....BEER. Nic, the main narrator is really good and thorough and clear when describing the investigation but Captain isn’t so. Captain’s comments very rarely expresses a new thought or avenue / take on the situation- mostly just repeats the same comments Nic makes or quickly jumps to conclusions more so from emotion versus clearly removing his thoughts to present an unbiased point of view. His jokes and snide comments can be inappropriate or just low brow (Captain would throw 2 or 3 different phrases back to back like ‘milking the sausage’ when talking about a suspect who was known to master bate) thinking he was being witty. He seems like a friend you would have to excuse his behavior to other friends in the same company instead of someone that can translate to the average Joe, which seems like what his contribution is to the show and discussions.

The best podcast (5/5)

I’ve told all of my friends about Nic and the captain! I found this podcast around the end of season 3 - listened to a few episodes and ended up getting stitcher to go all the way back to episode one. I’ve relistened to all my favorite episodes in between waiting for new ones. I still have no idea what a jib actually is- but I like yours! PLEASE BRING BACK the Parts Unknown shirts!! Preferably a sweatshirt ! Thank you for making my cubical hell and long commutes interesting.

Decent (4/5)

Enjoy this podcast a lot except when the Captain talks. I just tune him out and enjoy the thoroughness and details otherwise!

First TC podcast I loved (5/5)

I listen to tons of them now, but TCG was the first one I ever discovered and fell in love with. It’s still great. I love Nic & the Capt personalities and banter. They cover the cases well with their own style. Every successful podcast has sponsors and makes money .. it is their job! So that doesn’t bother me. I listen to free every week on apple, so not sure why anyone thinks their episodes aren’t still free. I have many favorite TC podcasts now and TCG is still one of them!

I have been a true crim fan since I can remember so got a MA in Forensic Psych and a law degree. Love the style and structure of this podcast. The idea of sitting around a garage in my comfy clothes having a "few" with a friend is my idea of a great night. You guys take me right there. Keep it up!

Dangerous Mental Health Misinformation & Stigma (1/5)

Update: After another podcast recommended this one, I thought I would try and listen again. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am. They REPEATEDLY announce false, ignorant and DANGEROUS misinformation regarding their feelings about the fact that it’s ok for mental health patients to skip their meds sometimes, because “all medicines work differently but skipping one day of these medications are not going to derail you completely.” You have got to be kidding me. Any company sponsoring these guys should be concerned for legal repercussions. Period. Full stop. Original Review: The main host has a annoying-heavy-breather-nasally voice and he’s really mean to the cohost (cohost is named Captain and he’s a dad-joke-funny kind of guy). For example, in the exploding flashlight episode, the cohost is verbalizing a theory but he can’t even finish because the main host interrupts and degrades the cohost in this situation and many, many, more. Not withstanding the main host’s bird-brained-unicorn-theories that are painfully and obviously NOT a possible reality. These aren’t Hollywood scripts and the main hosts’ attempts to create such painfully dramatized, and clearly fake storylines, is annoying. It’s also dangerous because it distracts from the proven facts of a case, spreading misinformation which can jeopardize progress made by police. Also, these hosts have TERRIBLE chemistry. The way the main host dismisses the cohost makes it feel like this is the first time they’re discussing the topic and they’re not prepared/haven’t researched the cases... I wanted to like this podcast, so I could add it to my library, but they have a LONG way to go before they’re worth your time.

Captain ruins the show (2/5)

Surely the Powers that be who have oversight on this show, recognize how damaging the captain is to its success. All I can think about the positive reviews that I see, is that the captain must have a lot of family members Who love him and can overlook the insulting, asinine, thoughtless, stupid, comments that this man contributes to an otherwise decent podcast. I had quit listening for quite some time but decided to give the show another chance. I alternated between laughing at this imbecile and his moronic thoughts (and that’s a stretch because I’m not sure he actually thinks before he speaks), and pulling back in disgust at his inability to form compassionate or even coherent sentences. I suppose when it is your podcast, you decide what you’re willing to accept from a host or cohost, however I find it hard to believe that the problems this cohost creates are not recognized by others who have control over the show content. I know that I am done, for good this time. There are just too many other shows out there more entertaining, with hosts who can speak and critically think beyond a third-grade level. Nick must really want to just quit doing the podcast. That is the only reason I can think of that he would keep this ball and chain who is sinking the show. Goodbye True crime garage and good luck neck. Captain, I hope you get some help. I am sure there are tutors out there who can help you learn to speak and reason, and there are therapists who can help you move beyond your misogynistic and vulgar thought processes.

Wicked Good (5/5)

This podcast was recommended to me by a coworker, and now it gets me through my workday! My husband is now hooked just from catching an episode left playing in my car!

True Crime Savant esq (5/5)

Great job. Well researched, informative, objective and entertaining. Keep it up

Constant Disagreement (5/5)

It’s hard to stay focused on the case between what seems like constant disagreement of facts and thoughts between the two hosts. So distracting.

My favorite (5/5)

Loyal listener since episode 10. Thank you for your continued professionalism talking about such horrific crimes and your dedication to the victims. Also love your banter ❤️

Nic & The Capt are great! (5/5)

I enjoy the banter between them while they give insight into some very sad and horrendous cases. They try to be objective and non biased when reporting the story, they do, however, provide some personal dialogue while discussing the case. This makes it both interesting and entertaining, which is why I continue to listen week after week!

True Crime Garage an Original! (5/5)

I love this podcast!! Nic and Captain change nothing!! Keep doing what you are doing, you are the best!! I love the in-depth coverage and your unique perspective and commentary of true crime events. It would be nice to hear about a crime that has been solved once in a while. But you are still the best!! Thank you!!

Continuity is important (2/5)

I’m only on episode two, but these guys can’t seem to get any of the victims/witnesses names right. Is it Mariah, Maria, or Miranda, y’all? 🤦‍♀️

👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 (1/5)

I've been a long time subscriber to TGC but Episode 258 was just too much of a disservice to the victims and this case. Not completely sure why you guys chose to gloss over this case so lightly. No real facts was presented at all on this case in your podcast. This case is HUGE and one of the most horrific murders I've ever heard and you didn't cover ANY of the facts! These two were brutally tortured and murdered! You didn't even scrape the surface of this case! You allowed only a recording of one of the perpetrators and left out everything he was guilty of. How many other cases have you covered and censored like you did this one? Very disappointing. Disgusting. I'll be looking elsewhere for my tc podcasts. Unsubscribed.

Try something else (1/5)

I tried really hard to like this group but it is very repetitive and they don’t follow a linear timeline. “The Captain” adds little to the discussion, often hardheaded on irrelevant and close minded details. Much better options available.

Not sure what happened with this podcast (2/5)

I did really like this podcast but what’s the point in trying to get these cases out there if you’re going to try & make money off of it? You have very few available now for free which makes 0 sense to me. I will not pay to listen on some app when there are many other podcasts available that do the same thing (sometimes even better) without trying to make money. Unsubscribed.

Love the way they cover crimes (5/5)

Great Podcast (5/5)

I hardly write reviews. But I have noticed that True Crime Garage is somehow NOT a 5-star rated podcast. And that in its self is true crime. The Colonel and The Captain command a courageous and contagious cast fit for anybody that calls themselves fans of the true crime genre. Let these boys talk you through very interesting cases!

Overdue (5/5)

This review is long overdue! Nic and the Captain are awesome, I love listening to them! The dynamic between them is great, I have grown to love the Captains silly comments and the hilarious way Nic completely ignores them and keeps telling the story. These guys were the first true crime podcast I ever listened to and now after listening to many many others I can confidently say that they’re one of the best. I love that they don’t make you wait a whole week for part 2, they release multiple episodes each week which I am sure is a lot of work but it is much appreciated! I also think that they do the best research, they will give a case multiple episodes to make sure they fully cover it instead of just cramming a bunch of information into one episode and skipping over details. Anyway, you guys are great, keep it up!

Enjoyable (4/5)

After I finish listening to my favorite true crime podcasts, I come over here for a continued fix. The show is enjoyable, however can get dry and monotone at times. Overall, a good listen.

Consistent Quality (5/5)

These guys deliver a fantastic story with a good pace and terrific sources every single week. 10/10

I really wanted to keep listening (1/5)

I have probably listened to most of the crime garage podcasts and I really enjoy true crime and listening to Nick recount the facts of the crime. But I just can’t keep listening because of the Captain, it makes me cringe to even call him that. He makes comments that quite often ramble and don’t make sense and even more frequently makes wild guessing about guilt and innocence that I could only imagine have huge impacts on the victims families and persons of interest who are still not proven to be guilty. For example, episode 247, a realtor is found dead in the home she showed to a couple. Her boyfriend was one of the two people who found her. After the boyfriend appeared on Dateline the online internet sleuths went crazy accusing him and his family of being involved in her death. So much so that the police had to call a special press conference solely to tell people to stop, that he is not considered a suspect. And after Nick explained all of that, the “Captain” went into a long ramble about how that’s a ridiculous statement and he has to be a suspect because they took DNA from him and blah blah blah. Just stop , what are you doing to this guy who’s loved one was brutally murdered? Making him a victim again after the police were forced to plead with the public to stop?? You have no idea if there really is DNA evidence that excluded him. Why would the police want to put that out of it means the actual suspect will be more cautious of their actions? I really would love to subscribe again someday and hear the actual details of crimes that are out there by Nick. But I can’t support a podcast that perpetuates rumors and takes part in creating a false narrative that ruins the lives of people who are already victims. Stop it, stop name dropping and trying to act like you have so many friends in and sources - if you did, they would tell you to stop it. This is your podcast yes, and your opinions - but you are releasing this to the public and you have the same responsibility as a media outlet who is reporting fake news.

Hosts matter (2/5)

I think the hosts (Mainly Nic) do a nice job of researching and presenting facts of the case before they speculate. I especially appreciated the respectful way they covered the McKenzie Lueck case. I should say the way Nic covered it because I’m not sure how much preparation the captain does. I can’t listen anymore though. When the captain gets a theory that doesn’t come anywhere near the facts of the case, he’s like a dog with a bone. “I know but what I’m saying...” followed by some completely ridiculous justification. It’s maddening and honestly disrespectful to the victims and the people who are looking for answers for their loved ones. The jokes Captain makes just aren’t funny, but if it were just that I would keep listening. If you’re taking away from telling the story that the victims deserve, you need to reevaluate.

Insufferable (1/5)

They just babble on and on about cases with surface and zero expertise. Other podcasts cover the same cases and talk to experts in LE and forensics or experts themselves. If I wanted to hear every man dribble from people with opinions I could go to a dive bar.

Introduced me to cases I’ve never heard of before. (4/5)

I love the variety of well known and little known cases, especially the ones that are still unsolved and need attention. I didn’t give 5 stars because of the meaningless back and forth between the two hosts.

Nick, go solo bro (2/5)

After listening to “The Captain” berate drug addicts for an entire episode, I decided I can’t stand him. After deciding I can’t stand him, it’s almost impossible to make it through an episode. I used to stand up for him, but I just can’t anymore. Nick, do your own thing! The people will follow.

BYOB True Crime Podcast with Heart (5/5)

This is a great true crime podcast. The Captain and Nick play-off each other perfectly. Thanks to The Captain I’ve added “douche canoe” to my vocabulary. These guys are true victims’ advocates and cover crimes with knowledge, respect, appropriate outrage, and occasional humor to lighten the mood. It’s such an awesome podcast. Pour yourself a drink and have a listen.

Stop being mean to the Captain (5/5)

For yinz nerds who are attacking the Cap in these reviews, I'd like to point out that he's not dumb, he's being sarcastic. Untwist your panties and drink a nice beer.

Love the garage! (5/5)

These guys play off each other well. I like some of the obscure cases they cover, and they both have great voices. The music is great too ( thanks captain!) but I love Nic’s voice too!

Too many unsolved (4/5)

Really wish they wouldnt do so many unsolved cases. Im tired of hearing just theories and guesses and opinions. Other than that, the story telling is good and the banter between hosts is nice.

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

Great great podcast!!!! My favorite podcast by far. I listen to many other crime podcasts and ran out of ones to listen too, so I asked on FB for suggestions and someone had mention True Crime Garage!!! ❤️Nic and The Captain!!!! Even though I don’t drink beer, I hearing the beers you guys are drinking. Not sure if you guys like ciders but if you do, you should check out Cider Boys and WoodChuck. Happy Drinking!!!!

For True Crime - Park it in the "Garage" (5/5)

I've listened to podcasts for years... many I listen to and discard in a matter of months... either because the subjects become too staid or the presenters become boring. However, True Crime Garage continues to be the go-to in my library. Nic and the Captain provide the facts and insight that I so enjoy when learning of a new case. They offer just the right amount of levity to keep the stories from going too dark...I simply love this podcast.

Love the captain and nic (5/5)

First time listening to a pod cast and I’m hooked started last week and already in season 2 looooove the show makes my work day go by fast keep Up the work guys and try Bold Rock beer from va

My happy place❤️ (5/5)

Enjoy this podcast so much. So much negativity in this world. These guys are friends. They question each other, they argue, they fight and they are human. What you hear is what they are. I love their respect Of the victims and their families. I love their respect for women. I also think we should respect ourselves. Stand up, do good and live your life. I can also imagine it’s hard putting these podcasts together, thank you for doing so and sharing your passion ❤️

WE LIKE YO JIB!! (5/5)

Love this podcast! It was the first one I listened to and I’m hooked!! Love the show guys keep up the great work! And never forget we like yo jib!!

Mediocre (3/5)

Nick is the superior of the two hosts. I may not agree with everything he says, but I can see he understands logic and nuance. Captain on the other hand is the complete opposite. He is simple minded, and does not understand logic and nuance.his Simple-mindedness really ruins this podcast for me. He is the king of fallacious arguments.

Best podcast ever! (5/5)

I Love Nic and the Captain and look forward to every weekly episode. Not only is it a great true crime podcast-it’s the best podcast around. Grab a Blackrocks Brewery 51K next time you’re in the garage. Cheers!

Good Podcast GET RID OF CAPTAIN! (3/5)

Pretty good stories, main narrator is very good. Sidekick "Captain" is truly the definition of dead weight, and must go. I cringe every time he opens his ignorant mouth. He is not only unintelligent, his attempts to be funny are abysmal. Just SHUT UP, please!

The best! (5/5)

Best true crime out there!

Love this podcast (5/5)

I love the way they take on cases, I like the fact they take on lesser known cases and bring them to light! Good job guys! Keep up the good work!

Best podcast around (5/5)

I love nic and the captain. I look forward to this podcast every week and often listen more than once. They are thorough and always respectful to the victims and their families.

Love it (5/5)

I just started listening and love this show. The format and cases are great. They cover both known and unknown cases, which is a good mix. Keep on keeping on and don’t litter! 🚮

Great! (5/5)

Love the dynamic of these two guys perfect mixture of comedy and serious reporting.

A whole lot of speculation (2/5)

The podcast could be so much better but they ramble on over analyzing unnecessary details and over speculating. There’s a lot of “what if’s” or “if I was them” going on which drags on the episodes. The Haleigh Cummings episode is a perfect example of what I’m talking about. They analyze clips of a 911 call which drags on forever. A lot of assumptions.

Too many other great true crime podcasts out there to waste your time on this one. (1/5)

Misogynistic & tone deaf. Only a true douche bag calls himself ‘the captain’. Go listen to Crime Junkie or Generation Why instead.

Get rid of this captain guy (1/5)

I have only listened to one episode and I can already tell this guy is a clown. I will not be listening to another one for this guy alone. Too bad really cause I like the other guy.

One of my favs!! (5/5)

Idk why people are hating on the Captain. I find him hilarious most of the time!! I listen to several True crime podcast this is one of my favorites. 😊

Thanks (5/5)

Definitely my fav podcast!! Love listening to yall

Love me some Captain (5/5)

Just had a good laugh from the goof balls who dared to utter a few harsh words about the Captain... funny, it only made me love and appreciate him more. (Love you, too, Nic, but the Cap is my fav). Thanks for the amazing, thought provoking commentary. You guys rock!

The very best! (5/5)

I love this show so much! Nick and Captain are hilarious together and this is probably very favorite true crime podcast! Listen to them they are amazing! Nick and Captain I like the cut of your gib!!!!

Just ok...could be better (3/5)

I enjoy the show however the Captain takes away from the show big time. He’s often attempting comedy when not appropriate. He makes comments that are off putting and rather annoying. He takes away from the seriousness of the show. There is a time and place for his crappy humor and this show isn’t the place.

Keeps getting better & better (5/5)

I started listening to these guys 2019 season and worked backwards. Their research and insight continues to improve no matter how many IPAs they've had. The captain can get a little annoying at times but not unbearable. Go team Nick!!!

The best True Crime Podcast (5/5)

If you enjoy the True Crime genre like I do, you owe it to yourself to subscribe to True Crime Garage! I Like their Jibb!

Get out of your canoe... (5/5)

And into TRUE CRIME GARAGE! Solid stories, thoughtful theories, balanced banter.

4 stars for Nic (4/5)

Would love to give five stars because I love listening to Nic. It's very evident he truly cares about the causes and puts in a lot of research. Captain fat hands has gone stale though, to put it lightly. I'm no prude, but his jokes are quite crude and redundant. I appreciate his honesty but he's becoming irrelevant. None the less, still one of the greatest true crime podcasts out there and I will continue to listen, but seriously, step up your game captain.

Love! (5/5)

Easily one of my favorite podcasts. Binge listening all the older episodes. Thanks for giving us all something to look forward to each week! ❤️

What’s happening!!! (3/5)

They were in my top 3 for years but these past three months I’m just bored and can’t manage to even get through part 1. Too many unresolved cases back to back and revisiting old cases.. why! Make the garage great again!!

Third love (1/5)

Stop advertising this. It’s gross and you sound ridiculous.

Painful- these victims were people (2/5)

I’d turn this off if a stranger walked in on me washing dishes to this pod. “The Captain” has something stupid a/o distracting to inject - buzzed or hammered - regardless. I was a regular listener and now I catch up on long commutes if nothing else is available. Minimal research and comments aren’t entertaining or informative any more. Probably bearing on forty years old and with a platform, act it. Stock up the beer fridge when you actually help a victim.

5 out of 5 bottle caps (5/5)

Their humor isn’t for everyone (but nothing is) and I love it. Their voices are oddly comforting so I often fall asleep listening at night but will relisten during the day of course. I’d love to add 1/2 a bottle cap for the merch too! (Team Nic, Ban the Van, and I have the TCG zodiac hoodie I wear all the time). I think you(the listener) should pick a “favorite” topic and listen to them talk about it because they’re not just about dark humor, they also do their homework! If you don’t see anything, stitcher has EVERY EPISODE for free!

Gave it a shot. (2/5)

Nick is great but gets derailed easily by the Captain. Rambles and doesn't make sense half the time. Slow monotone voice goes on too long .. sorry Nick. Unsubscribed

Love (5/5)

Started listening to you guys on amazing, quickly became obsessed! I love listening to podcasts and love true crime. Now you are all I listen to! Can’t wait to hear what more is to come!

Excellent (5/5)

Great true Crime pod!!

Just Ok (2/5)

Nick has a tendency to over analyze certain details making the podcast long and tedious. More often than not, I quit listening to an episode and move on to a different podcast.

Captains gotta go (1/5)

Tried listening to a few of their podcasts but I can’t stand listening to Captain.

Love TCG (5/5)

I started listening to these guys during work I’m completely hooked and have got my friends hooked as well. They have a great way of choosing and presenting the cases and theories. They really make me think, I don’t always agree and sometimes want to call out things I see as connections lol. Thanks guys!

My favorite podcast (5/5)

I’m a huge fan of true crime. I have a very long commute so I get my fix through podcasts. I’ve listened to all of the top rated true crime podcasts, and I’ve gotta say that no doubt about it, True Crime Garage is my favorite. It’s the perfect balance of comedy and facts. I really like the way it’s structured. Nic and the Captain are hilarious and well informed. Great work!

Loves of my life (5/5)

Men who say “sawl” and “drawl” >>> men who say “saw” and “draw”. Listening to yawll is the best part of my day/week! Never change 🤗

Dermonds (1/5)

Israel Keyes connection? Also anyone else hate when they bicker? It’s like hearing your two dads fight

I Can Read Wikipedia Too (1/5)

I’ve listened to a few of the podcasts trying to understand the good reviews. The podcast is essentially a recounting of known facts regarding a crime. If you know nothing about the incident, the podcast might be a good introduction. If the listener has done any light reading on a topic, then you have as much knowledge as the folks on the podcast. I listened to the most recent Delphi episode and was struck by the comment “I don’t want to speculate”. Well maybe you should speculate because otherwise you are not conveying anything new or interesting. (The DNA discussion during that episode was amusing. Nic suddenly needed to defend a position he took and couldn’t.) Episodes are sponsored by a specific beer which is appropriate because the conversation unspools like a drunk trying to force his opinion on another. Hard pass on this podcast.

My favorite podcast (5/5)

My favorite podcast of all time! Been a fan since the beginning you guys are awesome.

Favorite (5/5)

Truly my favorite podcast

... (1/5)

The captain guy is painful to listen to...

The GOAT True Crime Pod (5/5)

Nic and the Captain are the GOATs of true crime podcasting. Excellent research, great banter, just enough humor to keep things from getting too heavy, and great topics. Lots of great true crime podcasts these days, but True Crime Garage will always be my number one.

Incredible (5/5)

The level of info is incredible. I never take time to review anything till now! Just so well done love you guys and thanks for always seeing a woman’s side of things. You are good guys in every sense!!! But once in a while we need a case with the person getting justice!

Can’t stand The Captain (1/5)

I’ve been listening to this show for a long time, but I’m finally over hearing “the Captain”. If it was just Nick, I’d stay subscribed forever, but I can’t handle that rambling idiot anymore. He brings nothing to the show, derails any atmosphere Nick has created and basically drags the show down. Every time Capt say “yous’ a piece a sh!t” or “ douche canoe” I scream “SHUT UP” at the radio. Time to quit. Unsubscribing today..

Incredible story tellers and original music by the captain (5/5)

Hands down my favorite podcast. The captain and nick do amazing work at bringing awareness to many peoples sad realities. They are great story-tellers and I absolutely adore the banter and commentary of the captain. They truly have hearts to advocate for victims and their families. I appreciate you both so much! Thanks for always coming through with new episodes and being apart of my week! Peace & all the love!

Great show (5/5)

Just found the podcast recently when I started working full time during summer break. Really makes the day go by fast, I’ve been binging all the episodes! Keep it up guys

Blood SPATTER! (5/5)

Love you guys and love the podcast. I listen everyday while at work. Big true crime fan! Howeverrrrr, it’s Blood Spatter Analysis, not splatter. Splatter is not a technical term for the analysis of blood stains. Keep up the good work!!

Best True Crime Podcast (5/5)

This is by far the best true crime podcast out there. I’d recommend to anyone, listen to every episode. They are highly entertaining while still being respectful. Great story tellers. My favorite podcast by far

Love it! (5/5)

The captain makes my butt tingle

**the best** (5/5)

Thank you guys for making my long car rides tolerable!

Seriously, you need to release more than two episodes a week! (5/5)

From parts unknown, we could really use more shows! LOL! But seriously, these guys are the best and know their stuff, true crime and beer! You can not go wrong listening to these guys (unless you don't like beer, or true crime)! These guys have got me through countless hours of driving, and work (with Nic & the Captain I no longer have to listen to my cube mates fart and burb all day)! Be kind and don't litter! Cheers!

One of the best (5/5)

Great deep dive into some really interesting cases. Like that both guys contribute to each episode. Several True Crime podcasts have a host and a sidekick, but Nick and the Captain both bring it every episode.

The Best (5/5)

I have 7 true crime podcasts I listen to on a regular basis. This is my favorite! The relationship between Nic & the Captain is just the right amount of humor for some tough stories. My only problem is I want more podcasts! I’ve listened to all the podcasts available (some more than once).

I took the scenic route (5/5)

I love the the tittilatin beer-

I have decided that Nic & the Captain are my friends now (5/5)

I’ve gotten into the habit of listening to Nic & the Captain outline and discuss various true crime cases (both famous and lesser known) every day after work. They give me something to look forward to and I’m always grateful for the laughs and thoughtful theorizing. Although I don’t like beer, I’m always happy to drink white wine or a protein shake along with them every night on Stitcher. Also kind of annoyed I think they’re both cute. 5/5 bottle caps to both the show and to them!

You Guys are Alright (5/5)

I really like you guys. You both are very chill and you do do your research. I also like the follow up like where these people are now if they’re still with us.

Love these guys (5/5)

10/10 show every week.

Beer Opening & Pouring Deduction (3/5)

When they get rid of the annoying sound effect of a beer being opened and poured they will get an extra star.

Like your Jib (5/5)

From parts unknown I love you guys.

Just can’t (3/5)

Just can’t listen to the captain anymore gonna take a break maybe I’ll end up bingeing in 5 months or so.

Brewskies (5/5)

5 out of 5 bottle caps. Love this podcast.

Good content; annoying sidekick (4/5)

The sidekick guy is annoying as holy hell. But if you can get past that and put up with him then it’s worth listening to. Not funny but thinks he is (cringeworthy). The content is good and it’s organized very well. I still recommend giving it a try!

This podcast is great. (5/5)

I just wish I could respond to all the prude, uptight lames that don’t get the captains humor. They have great chemistry.

Gather ‘round, grab a beer, let’s talk some true crime (5/5)

My favorite part of the intro every time! Nic and The Captain get 5/5 bottle caps from me! Keep up the great work guys!

Nick is great, the “Captain” stinks (3/5)

Captains slurry voice and incoherent, rambling, half finished sentences makes me want to throw my phone against the closest hard surface

Work Besties (5/5)

Nick and the Captain are my work besties. Everything they cover is so interesting and are both hilarious and easy to listen to. Work would be just work without Nick and The Captain whispering sweet nothings into my ears. Me and my coworkers are hardcore fan girls.

Hosts Don’t Jive (2/5)

I thought I hated the show all together because it’s dry and they get too caught up in the details sometimes, which just puts them into the weeds. I just listened to episode 238 though with another co-host, and this episode was MUCH better. Wouldn’t regularly listen w the captain as a host though. 2 stars for solid research on cases.

Elliott Smith Episode (4/5)

I heard the Captain on Gen Why and came over to check out the Elliott Smith episode that was referenced. I’m an RN -board certified in mental health and substance abuse. I’d just like to clear up one point. When talking about how sometimes anti-depressants “cause the opposite effect” and can make people suicidal, I assume you are talking about the Black Box Warning in some meds, particularly SSRIs. The reason why anti-depressants can sometimes cause a depressed person to become suicidal, is because many people are SO DEPRESSED that they may think of suicide as an option, but they are too depressed to actually carry through with any plan. Then they take an anti-depressant and are suddenly NOT QUITE AS DEPRESSED, and it gives them just enough energy to get up off the couch or whatever, and ACTUALLY CARRY THROUGH with a suicide plan. This usually happens relatively quickly after starting the medication. I absolutely believe Elliott was murdered. I’ve tried to listen to your podcast before, because I listen to lots of true crime pods, and for some reason I have a hard time listening to y’all. There’s a mansplain-y aspect of your podcast that I find offputting. The guys over at Gen Why avoid this tone. I can’t put my finger on it, but some all-male pods are mansplain-y, and some are not. Perhaps this is something to think about? All the best to you all...

What have I been doing!?! (5/5)

True crime junkie... I listen to all the podcasts... how did I just now find you guys? I heard the captain on gen why. I’m so happy I found this podcast. The captain cracks me up!

For true True Crime aficionados (5/5)

As someone who considers herself true crime obsessed, Nic & The Captain are always playing through my speakers. Other podcasts are either poorly put together/researched, have a creepy monotone host or cover cases that I could recite in my sleep. TCG keeps me fully engaged, laughing, crying and jamming to the smooth tunes produced just for the show. Well done, y’all. Thank you for your service!

My favorite true crime podcast! (5/5)

I think you guys are doing an amazing job and I look forward to the episodes every week. All of this hate on The Captain in the reviews is so rude and you all need to practice being better human beings.

Well Researched (5/5)

I love listening to this podcasts the second new episodes come out, Nic is fun to listen to.

Spokane wa. Cheers (5/5)

Double tap guys, I love the show and I would consider myself an expert. I am listening to current and older episodes. I would also like to humbly recommend my favorite beer, dogfish head. Many of these are impeccable, but the IPA is a PERFECT beer. Give it a try fellas!

Only podcast I listen too! (5/5)

These guys are hilarious and our go-to podcast for long trips

Capt. Moron (3/5)

I love that this show tries to analyze and break down some famous cases. However, Captain seems to be working too hard to come up with “theories” and everything that comes out of his mouth is idiotic. It’s annoying. He’s just not good at this. In my opinion, he’s dragging Nik down.

Best crime podcast! (5/5)

Love the captains voice too!

Good Stuff!!! (5/5)

You got one guy that is the fact guy and knows the details thoroughly. Then you have the other guy who asks questions that the listener might be thinking, which adds more detail and also has a great sense of humor. So he adds a nice little touch of humor. Great podcast! Give it a listen.

Highlight of my week (5/5)

I’ve been listening since 2017 and I LOVE it. It was always good but over the years they have grown their talents and the quality of the show has improved as well. Incredibly well researched, they present the information pretty unbiased, and they are just fun to listen to. After listening to them so long it really feels like it’s just two of my buddies talking like I know them lol I love that they focus on the victims and bringing justice for the family. Hands down my favorite show! Cheers!

No Captain was AMAZING (3/5)

Not having that insufferable, slurring, sorry excuse of a co-host this last episode has made it thoroughly more enjoyable, listenable, and understandable. Please keep him away from a microphone in all future episodes.

Absolutely LOVE your podcast (5/5)

Gentlemen, another Ohioan (Sandusky) here, I discovered your podcast about 2 weeks ago, as I was looking something to listen to during a couple VERY long drives. Now that I am home, I have not been able to not listen to your program. It is so interesting, and I love the banter between the two of you. I started with your most recent programs, but now I've begun back at the start of your program. Thanks for the terrific information. While I am worthy of having my job liked, I certainly need to let a little bit of air out of it.

My favorite! (5/5)

This podcast gets me through my work days! Love the hosts and love true crime!

Awesome (5/5)

Miss the captain but I must say love hearing two of my top favorite podcasters doing an episode together again. Love Aaron and Nick together you work well with one another two thumbs up fellas👍👍

Love TCG (5/5)

Thanks for getting me through my workday!

Great Podcast (4/5)

I love your wife swap episodes with Gen Why

Perfection, perfection. (5/5)

Two of my favorite people telling one story.

Bon voyage captain (2/5)

I haven’t even finished the latest episode and it’s already such a huge breath of fresh air. Two competent and respectful hosts sharing information in a coherent way. I love it. I hope this is some sort of tester for a long term change. I very much support it. “I’m not for sure” is a phrase I’m sick of hearing. CAPTAIN, It’s “I’m not sure” or “I don’t know for sure”. Your way of saying it sounds like a child who hasn’t been corrected. Love the show. Can’t stand half the hosts. An episode without him is perfect.

Great Podcast (5/5)

Love you guys!

I like you guys (5/5)

And your podcast. Thank you

Beers and crime stories!! (5/5)

Just found I couple of days ago and love it beers and crimes stories!!

Excellent (5/5)

I love listening to the rapport between The Captain and Nic. Also well researched and respectful. Favorite new podcast and telling others to listen in for sure!

Watts podcast (5/5)

Excellent!! Very well researched with amazing detail. Best podcast about this case! Great Job!!

LOVE IT!!! (5/5)

Best true crime podcast out there. I binge listened to every episode. The Captain and Nic are amazing hosts and really do their research. Thank you guys for such a great show!

Lawyer-Educator Recommends (5/5)

There is something about two people who click together which makes a podcast vastly more interesting. Nick and the Captain have been together for years and talking through true crime cases is a big part of their relationship. I feel as if I am in the garage with them and arguing the various points. Their perspective is more akin to a jury member's than to a lawyer's. That adds to the experience. At times they will be caught up in the emotion of a case instead of the fact that there is insufficient evidence to prosecute. But that again makes them more like a jury. When I want to listen to an actual legal rendition of a case, I tune in the podcast "Lawyer to Lawyer." But I wouldn't recommend that one to people who are not lawyers.

Excellent (5/5)

Very well researched and the hosts have an excellent rapport.

Love it! (5/5)

This is one of my favorite podcasts. They do excellent research and make every case come alive. The Captain lends an impromptu aspect that grounds each episode. I love how they pair a beer with each case base on where the case took place. I feel like I’d love to sit in the garage and hang out with these people!

Great sense of humor (5/5)

These two guys Nic and the Captain are extremely talented explaining the cases methodically while applying each ones theory. Nic & Captain are entertaining while very compatible and comfortable with each other. Just the facts Norman Gornbein

Amazing podcast (5/5)

Murder, beer, & jokes from captain , what more could I ask for. 5/5 love listening to this with my wife

Amazing podcast!!! (5/5)

The guys do an amazing job researching and presenting each case. I like that they often have conflicting views and are not one sided. Plus they have great voices and seem to enjoy what they do!

Great podcast Thank you for great stories. (5/5)

All ways enjoy

Favorite Podcast! (5/5)

Really great podcast. I listen every week. These guys are good at what they do. I just have to say I love hearing the Captain say “Mmhmm.” I don’t know why lol!

Love! (5/5)

I love both Nick and Captain. I love how they are serious yet funny. I love all the research they go through and it really shows. Keep up the great work guys!

Love! (5/5)

I love this podcast!! So informative, super interesting and well the captain is freaking hilarious!!!!

My absolute favorite podcast (5/5)

I have no idea how this podcast isn’t rated 5 stars!! It’s my absolute favorite podcast! Nic does a great job of researching the case and providing insightful perspectives, while the Captain typically provides a variation or conflicting viewpoint on those perspectives, all to make for an overall thought-provoking discussion. My husband hates true crime, and can’t stand the fact that I literally watch ID Discovery or listen to true crime podcasts at all available opportunities. Yet, he actually loves listening to True Crime Garage with me! It’s the one and only true crime activity we can enjoy together!

Great true crime podcast (5/5)

I love your show. Thanks!

I used to like this podcast (1/5)

I’ve been listening for a long time and they were pretty good, lately however, the guys spend 2 hours on a story that can be done in 30 minutes, they pretty much tell the story in the first few minutes and the rest of the podcast is pure speculation, stick to the facts and less time guessing what could have, would have, should have happened!

They’re the best! (5/5)

Why oh why is True Crime Garage not on any top 10 true crime podcast lists?? Or maybe I just haven’t dug in enough. But anyway...these guys are one of the top contenders.

Love these guys! (5/5)

I live this podcast the info they give is throughly researched and spot on! Keep up the good work! I also love the beer reviews!

Love It. (5/5)

Absolutely love the show. I listen to it while I am working. My boyfriend makes fun of me for listening to any podcast but I love it. I would like to hear more cases from Florida or North Carolina. -Kayla -Tallahassee, FL

The worst (1/5)

I don’t care if this is seen or not but you guys are tools your podcast is too much rated “G” I think we can handle the gore if we have experience with true crime but you guys don’t so I’m out

One of my favorite (5/5)

Love the Nic and the Captain and !!!!! Great presentation, great podcast

The best by far (5/5)

I love true crime garage so much! Whenever I finish the episode of the week I used to download a different true crime podcast and try listening but they’re never as good and I would just get frustrated. I finally downloaded stitcher to listen to their old episodes too and now I’m just trying not to go through them too quickly so I still have a stash of new (to me) episodes to pick from. Always recommend true crime garage when someone asks or mentions they like true crime.

Boner Jams 2019 (5/5)

Best of the best. Should be required listening

Fave True Crime Podcast! (5/5)

I listen every week! I love how thoroughly the murders and disappearances are discussed. Cheers!

Easily the best crime podcast out there (5/5)

Great research and writing. A perfect mix of serious narration and light humor when needed.

Mispronouncing is a crime (3/5)

I sawl this podcast on my app so I confinscated it.

My favorite podcast (5/5)

If you like true crime podcasts check it out. I look forward to new episodes every week and use Stitcher to listen to old episodes! Nic and The Captain are very thorough and offer good insight to each story. Also love listening to them pronounce hard words/names haha. Love ya guys 👌

The best (5/5)

I’ve listened to dozens of true crime podcasts, and this is by far my favorite!!

Amazing! (5/5)

A coworker told me about the podcast, and I CANNOT stop listening! I started at the very beginning and I have a lot to listen to to catch up! I love the stories that you provide! The guys are hilarious and I cannot get enough! Thank you for providing me with something to get me through the work day!

Awesome show! (5/5)

I really enjoy this podcast. I like how they discuss their opinions and not just simply share the facts. The hosts are down to earth and remind me of my and my buddies talking and not just two guys telling a story!!

Simply the Best (5/5)

I just thoroughly enjoy listening to these two. My favorite type of episodes are the mystery and disappearances. the grisly episodes and SK ones I skip.

My Favorite True Crime Podcast! (5/5)

These two are incredibly likeable and extremely knowledgeable about the cases they explore. They somehow bring both gravity and levity to the horrors they are explaining to us, which is what makes this podcast a rarity. My Favorite Murder's success makes no sense to me. These guys should be the most popular true crime podcast out there! They're sensitive and caring along with being funny. Subscribe if you're at all interested in true crime!

This one is a winner (5/5)

Honestly, I’m more of a single host narrative true crime pod kinda girl, so I went into TCG with a little skepticism. Didn’t take long before I was hooked. Nick does his homework so the shows are always well researched. The Captain adds flavor without going over the top. Shout out from a fellow musician/former bank teller here. My biggest gripe about dual host podcasts is that they tend to ramble off topic. Not these guys. Once they get rolling, they keep it about the case. Also, they usually provide 2 hours of quality free content per week. Good stuff. Crack open a beer and give them a listen.

My new addiction! (5/5)

I’m late to the party and am binging to catch up. Nick, you are a great story teller. I can tell you both put a ton of effort into gathering facts and sorting them from the fiction, which I appreciate. Now... the Captain. At first he was much like a bad character from an old Adam Sandler movie, but after making it to the 2017 season, he’s grown on me (like a harmless rash) and now I look forward to that low, gravely voice each time I get in the car. Keep up the great work, hope to see you both at CrimeCon 2020- Cheers to the beers!!

Excellent (5/5)

Love the Podcast!!!!!! Great cases & I love hearing your takes on what happened!

Great show with thorough information (5/5)

I love listening to TCG! I love the attention to detail and thorough discussion. My only negatives are 1) sometimes Nik is dismissive of the Captain and is a little too “well, actually” and 2) sometimes I wish there was more resolution to cases, but I understand they tend to pick unsolved cases so they can discuss theories etc.

Asha Degree (5/5)

Love this podcast!! Please review the Asha Degree case. Missing from Shelby, NC February 14th, 2000.

Unsubbing solely due to "The Captain" (2/5)

The podcasts have gotten harder and harder to get through and it is due to the Captain. Nick does a great job and if he ever branches out on his own, I'm sure I would become a listener again. I am personally not a fan of "The Captain" on this podcast. I would love to give more stars , but can't bring myself to do it.

Well researched but too much speculation (4/5)

I really do love this podcast, it’s just really annoying when they say “if it were me, I would have....” or are overly judgy of people and just throw out ridiculous theories. You never know how people are going to react in horrible situations so you can’t judge people based on how you think you would act. And throwing out theories based on something super far-fetched that there is no evidence of? That just isn’t helpful or entertaining. I think most weeks could just be one episode if they cut out all their unsubstantiated theories. But overall I like it, I look forward to listening every week and it’s much more well researched than other podcasts I listen to.

One of the original and BEST true crime podcast (5/5)

I agree with Captain! I blame the Chili’s proposal too! I’ve been listening since the beginning. You guys are great! Thanks for not selling out over the years.

Love it! (5/5)

I thoroughly enjoy this show. You two have great chemistry, and I appreciate Captain’s strong opinions and commentary. Thanks for the great storytelling!

I give these guys a five (5/5)

I have listened to many true crime podcasts in the last several years and I return again and again to True Crime Garage. I have heard in the past reviews that people don’t like the captain… And I’m like really? You don’t get his sense of humor? I think he’s very funny. They have such detail which I absolutely love and do such a thorough research. I think they are great!

The Captain (5/5)

I love the balance between Nick and The Captain... but I adore the fact The Captain calls s spade a spade (aka douche canoe) but has a tender heart. Favorite True Crime podcast ever.

Best podcast ever (5/5)

Look forward to this one every week!

Absolutely THE BEST! (5/5)

I love Nic and Captain and this podcast! I am a huge true crime fan and listen to almost all of the pod casts. I discovered these guys in December and not only do I catch all their current, I am now listening to all of their podcasts since the start! Up to late 2017 in my binge listening! These guys don’t talk politics, don’t push agendas, minimize the cursing and just tell you what the find and their personal thoughts! I can listen at work and don’t have to use my ear phones which I love! The reason I really appreciate and love these guys is because they bring attention to many unsolved small town cases that don’t get the big attention! These cases need solving too and they are doing their part to help bring justice! These guys are easy to listen to and I highly recommend them!

Awesome Podcast! (5/5)

This is one of the only Podcasts that I can stand to regularly listen to! The way Nic & the Captain tell the stories is phenomenal. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who needs a good true crime podcast. They never disappoint with their story choices either!

This is the podcast that got me into true crime podcasts (5/5)

Ever since I fell in love with your podcast, I am always looking for other shows that are as interesting and well produced as True Crime Garage. You guys set the bar and you set it high! I always look forward to each new show you release. Keep it up!

Love this podcast!!! (5/5)

The chemistry between these two works very well. I love what both of them bring to the show. Thanks guys never stop!! This is my favorite podcast hands down, can’t wait for the next episode-everrrr!!!

Best Podcast and great host (5/5)

Can't tell you how I enjoy this podcast. Look forward to your weekly show. Not a new comer at looking at crime cases. Been interested since my early 20's. Unsolved Mysteries never missed episode. Keep up the good work, have a suggestion for a show : Rhoden family 8 murdered whole families in different residences. Has been a year no new facts coming out on case. Going cold. This is an Ohio case. I would love to hear your take on it. Stay in the game fellas, Gabbybj PS: They have arrested some people for this crime. They are from around Bethel Ohio. I went to school with one of the suspects.

My absolute favorite podcast (5/5)

This podcast makes me look forward to Tuesday’s. Nothing has ever made anyone love Tuesday’s in all of history !!!!!!

All time fave! (5/5)

Love Nick and the Capt! I can hear the passion in each story. Especially the Long Island Strangler. You guys give the victims a voice and I could listen to you all day. Drink on and keep up the amazing work.

I absolutely love this podcast. Captains wit mixed with nics wisdom is brilliant. What nic lacks captain makes up for and visa versa. Its my new guiltiest pleasure. I am definately a fan and i must say captain you are pretty sexy! Keep up the great work. Thank you captain and nic i am a true crime garage groupie for sure. and thats enough of my businesssss.

Garage (5/5)

Really enjoy this podcast. Enjoy what Nic and the Captain both bring to the episodes. Keep it up!

Awesome but... (4/5)

Would be better without the Captain :( he doesn’t seem to contribute very much to the narrative.

I’m a True Crime Garage Junkie!!! (5/5)

I just recently got into podcasts and found True Crime Garage and I’ve been BINGING it!! I’m obsessed. At first I was on stitcher and finding random cases to listen to but then decided to go back to 2015 and listen to them all in order! Can’t stop won’t stop

Love this podcast!! (5/5)

It’s very awesome podcast that not only mixes true crime cases, but also introduces a different beer every episode. I am definitely team Captain. Keep up the good work guys!!

Loyal fan (5/5)

I never miss an episode! I get my crime fix and love the banter between Nick and the Captain. Very entertaining and educational

A deadly good podcast (5/5)

Great true crime podcast. Love the banter between Nic and the Captain. I’ve listened to almost every episode in the last month or two. I’m addicted.

Love (5/5)

Great intro music. Good coverage. Always liked Nic. Captain grew on me.

Can’t listen to another (5/5)

I listen every single night. Love Nic and the Captain both!!! Great show and what a good way to get the unsolved cases out there!!

Love love this podcast!! (5/5)

I had never even listened to a podcast before listening to True Crime Garage. These guys got me hooked and now I listen everyday! They crack me up and keep me intrigued with their funny banter and interesting cases. Love me some TCG!

Love you guys (5/5)

I am fairly new to the world of podcasts. You definitely do not disappoint and you’re amazing will be donating ya all a six pack from a new fan down here in GA.!!!

Great content (5/5)

Love the content! Endless hours of interesting cases, some of which are lesser known! Same with the array of beer recommendations! 5/5 bottle caps.

Making the Macabre, fun? (5/5)

Yeah seems totally inappropriate and I Love It!! Shedding new light on some old cases and giving new cases some in-depth coverage. I dig it and like the cut of your jib!!!

Horrible storytelling (2/5)

Repetitive in story telling and too many opinions by the hosts. Just get to the story! Crime Junkie does a better job at telling the stories. Too much chatter that some episodes turn into two parts when it could’ve been narrated in one. Annoying.

Captain is terrible (1/5)

If you got rid of Captain it would be a good podcast. He is rude and brings nothing good to the podcast.

Please drop the captain (2/5)

He’s so socially awkward and makes me uncomfortable. If you listen to old episodes on stitcher he used to sound so normal. Now he slurs and acts like he can’t follow the story. Is he on drugs now? Or is he just getting super drunk during the episodes? You can even sense Nick’s frustration in his voice at times and it makes me cringe.

True Crime Garage Fan (5/5)

One of my favorite podcasts. Great job don’t change a thing.

Liquid pouring into glass (5/5)

Love the show but I always skip the first 2.5/3 minutes to avoid the sound of the “beer” being poured into the glass lol maybe I’m a psychopath

Episode 232 (5/5)

Y’all ever look into the theory of it being a substitute teacher. Would have got out off work around the same time. Access to student phone numbers and if a small community could have heard teachers talking about her mom going full time. And some subs travel awhile for work and sometimes never sub at that school again

I love it! (5/5)

I love these! Captain is great he add to it but I can see why some people are not like him if you don’t like having a conversation on cases this podcast isn’t for you, but I love both of these men Nick and Captain. Very interesting with them both this won’t be good if either of them walked away. I love how the two are talking about how they see things and sometimes they disagree (personal favorite) sometimes they agree! I love these cases! Keep up the good work!

Love the podcast (4/5)

I love listening to the podcast but the Captain just annoys me. Sometimes i have to skip over what he’s saying. None of it seems relevant or thought out.

My Favorite Crime Show (5/5)

Against all my better instincts, I love this show! Love the arcane facts, the jokes, and the hosts who come across as a couple of nice guys.

Best podcast ever! (5/5)

This podcast is amazing! Gives me my true crime fix and gets me through my work day! I put the AirPods in at 8am and take em out at 5! Thanks guys for getting me through the day!!!! Keep up the good work!

Best true crime podcast! (5/5)

Been listening to these guys for almost two years now. They do a great show. I would rather listen to stories with an end though. Recently the garage is only doing unsolved mysteries. I think that should be a different show.

Great music! (5/5)

I’ve listened to every episode and I love the music on the show ! Great job Captain! - Rita from Oakland,CA

Boring (1/5)

I don’t personally care for the hosts opinions and conclusions , which is really all this podcast is. Keep it to the case, the fact, the evidence etc. not your options

The best!!! (5/5)

Love nic love the captain. Great chemistry! Captain don’t ever change. You’re perfect. You make me LOL. Giant boner!!!

Love (5/5)

Makes my workday so much shorter. Am scared to catch up on all podcasts so I can’t listen to it all day, everyday

Team Captain (5/5)

Everyone hates on the Captain, but really this show would be garbage without him. Nic is great too but El Capitan saves the show from being just another run of the mill show. Must listen, every week, and subscribe to Off the record.

Great show (5/5)

Love The Captain and Nick. They make the perfect combination. Thank you guys for all of your hard work and don’t listen to the bad reviews.

One of my favorite podcasts (5/5)

Recently came across this podcasts and I’ve been hooked cheers !

Y’all helped me (5/5)

I started listening to your podcast when I was happy but after my fiancé died I was in a really bad place. Music didn’t sound the same but y’all did so I listened to the podcast I had on repeat. It helped me in some very dark times.

The best! (5/5)

Love this podcast! The research done prior to the airing is very thorough and the hosts are great!!

“Drawling” (2/5)

Love you guys but episode 221 every time you said drawing you pronounced it “drawling” and it literally hurt my brain every time. This might seem like a petty review but that’s how much it effected me

Will always remain my #1 (5/5)

The Captain & Nick introduced me to True Crime podcasts. Don’t know how I found them, I liked true crime, but not a fan of beer, so why did I click on this podcast? Who cares?? So glad I did! Can’t live without my weekly dose of TCG! Love the commentary between the 2 of them. You can tell they put a lot of time and thought into their research. They are soley responsible for my descent down the rabbit hole of true crime podcasts. Thanks guys!

Addicted (5/5)

I find myself listening to you guys several times throughout the day. By far the best podcast I’ve ever listened to. Nic & The Captain have the best rapport with each other. Great balance of serious talk & jokes thrown in. Please keep up the amazing work!

Great Show (5/5)

I’ve been listening on other podcast apps but finally got a chance to rate on an iPad ;)

Giant Boner... really? (3/5)

I absolutely love Nic and his ability to tell these sad stories. The captain makes extremely inappropriate comments during these sensitive topics; This bothers me a lot. His comment in the most recent episode on Amy Mihaljevic in the context of the killer not wanting to return to work with a giant boner after killing her, disgusts me. Grow up and learn how to be sensitive to the victim and her family or friends.

Love the show... with the exception of “captain” (4/5)

Love true crime podcasts. Love the information provided in this podcast. Can NOT stand “captain” and his obnoxious input. He sounds like my drunk step dad trying to have an opinion when he should just not speak.

Cringeworthy. (1/5)

I just wish The Captain did not exist. He made unlistenable for me.

The greatest True Crime Podcast EVER!!!! (5/5)

Okay, I absolutely love Nic and The Captain! I discovered them late April of 2019 and have not gone a day since without listening to them! I found them on Spotify and listened to all of the episodes that they had in about a week and a half and I needed more! So I downloaded the stitcher app and I’m obsessed!! I’ve been listening to them on Stitcher since May 3rd and I’ve listened to them a total of 135 hours and 36 minutes. I am hooked! I can’t say enough positive things about these 2 and about TCG. Love, Gabrielle from SLC, UT, a loyal follower. 💜

Jibtickler (5/5)

Love the show

Great podcast!!!!!! (5/5)

These guys are great. My wife turned me on to this podcast and it is now one of my favorites. Great research and story telling. Love the captain and Nick. Keep up the good work!!!! My fave is goose island IPA. But keep recommending the great brews.

My favorite podcast! (5/5)

Love listening to these guys! Always look forward to another episode. Teneal from Dublin, California.

Best true crime podcast! (5/5)

These guys get me through my work week. I wish we could donate enough money for them to do this full time! I love Nic’s calm, cool delivery and the Captain’s comic relief. Keep up the good work, guys!

Late to the game on True Crime Garage! (5/5)

I only recently discovered the True Crime Garage Podcast and I can officially say I’m hooked! I’ve already binged all available episodes on iTunes and have started on their backlog via Stitcher. These two have great chemistry and have a great balance of levity and facts. I appreciate their insightful discussions and most of all, I sincerely appreciate that they aren’t afraid to take on well known cases that many podcasts steer away from. I’ve known about many of these “popular” cases for years but had no idea about the many nuances surrounding them! Keep up the good work- cheers!

Used to be my favorite! (4/5)

I’ve listen to True Crime Garage for years. This used to be my favorite podcast, looking forward to new episodes each week. I am still subscribed but often just delete episodes because I feel as though the podcast has gone down hill. I still recommend it as a good listen to my coworkers because the older episodes are fantastic. Wish the newer content was as good as the older episodes.

Beer and podcast (5/5)

Every time I listen to this podcast I want to drink a beer! I love true crime facts and options on true crime cases both past and present and I love beer! Excellent beer choices and great information. I am now going to a bar, drinking my beer while listening to an episode. Cheers!

True crime garage obsessed! 👍🏻 (5/5)

I really enjoy Nic and the captain! I can listen all day and have fallen asleep listening to this podcast. Sounds like a cool garage where the cool ones hang, Cheers! 🍻

Wait! This is interesting (5/5)

Elliott Smith was murdered?!

Amazing to the true crime lovers!!! (5/5)

I heard about these guys from another podcast about true crime. I am so glad that I learned about them. I love it an find myself saying things they say to other people. I have told no less than two to five other people about these guys. They are amazing! Plus the beer... you can’t go wrong with beer and talking about true crime!

Love it (5/5)

Took one star off because the podcast would be perfect without the captain (sry dude but you get tipsy, interrupt, and rant) :) Still a regular listener though!

Good, BUT (3/5)

I enjoy the podcast but, with respect, Captain tends to derail the story and it’s very distracting. I wish he’d stay on topic rather than focusing on something small and unrelated and picking it apart. Other than that it’s great!

What happened? (5/5)

For years, you guys were my favorite. However, it’s been downhill for a few months. The most glaring issue is the Captains drinking. Fix that and most of other problems will solve themselves. Please make the Garage great again.

Not into the interview (4/5)

I prefer hearing the host telling the story than these boring experts ... this is supposed to be a comedy true crime podcast

Fantastic (5/5)

I’ve been listening to this podcast for several years and even though I jump around to other true crime podcasts, I always come back to this one. They are like a much more professional and better researched My Favorite Murder, and I love the fact that there is a lot of mystery around who they are. It’s all about the story. And they are seriously so good at the research. Love it.

Great podcast (5/5)

These guys are great

Best podcast ever (5/5)

This podcast has gotten me through so many long drives & morning commutes! I look forward to it every week. I love the banter between nic and captain. I have told my friends and family about this podcast and now they love it too! Loyal fan forever.

True Crime Garage (5/5)

The Deeorr Kunz case was so well done and I could not stop listening. Loved it.

Best True Crime Podcast (5/5)

As a true crime fan for over 40 years. I follow numerous podcasts. No doubt in my mind that TCG is the hands down best one out there. Five stars for Nick and the Captain. I like the cut of your jibs!

Hooked thanks to a friend (5/5)

I started listening to this podcast after a friend recommended it about a month ago and I’m hooked. Awesome banter between Nick and the Captain and let’s be honest, the Captains voice is enough to keep ya coming back time after time. Even downloaded the stitcher app to listen to the older episodes too. Keep it up guys, you help get me through those 12 hr work days :)

Great podcasters! (5/5)

Love, love this podcast. These guys get the facts and report it in such a way that leaves you hooked. I must say, I love the Captain and his input. If you love a good true crime podcast, TCG is a great listen.

Absolute favorite (5/5)

I listen to so many true crime podcasts, and this is hands down my favorite. Nick and The Captain are hilarious but respectful. You've even inspired me to start my own podcast, so thank you! - Your friend at Weird on the Rocks podcast

One of my top podcasts (5/5)

Love Nic and the Captain. Well researched, entertaining and respectful of victims. Professional sound. Discussion seems genuine and down to earth. I enjoy the dynamic between the guys. Nic is a good balance to the Captain when he gets a little crazy or makes weird jokes lol. One of my top 2 true crime podcasts that I listen to first. Also recommend their off the record podcast on Stitcher Premium. Can access and binge all their old episodes to TCG on stitcher free as well.

Garbage (1/5)

I couldn’t even get through one episode, let alone Part 2, to find out what happened to the little boy. This is just a couple of yokels speculating in a ridiculous way. I have listened to many true crime shows and while they are all different, they have all been methodical about stating the basic premise in a factual manner. I won’t be subscribing to this heap of fetid dingo kidneys and find it shocking that anyone does.

I’m hooked (5/5)

I’ve never listen to a pod cast before last week until I came across you guys now I’m addicted to your guys podcast, you have such amazing conversations and really grab my attention with every case

The Captain embarrasses me (2/5)

I used to like this podcast but The Captain makes the unlistenable. I’m dislike him more than a middle aged white man hates vocal fry

Favorite by far (5/5)

I just want to thank Nick and Captain for always diving deep into investigations. I wait every week for them to drop episodes. Shout out for keeping the Delphi Murders info active and alive here also. Please check them out! O-H-I-O!

Great podcast (5/5)

Good listening (5/5)

I was searching for my in between stories from another true crime pod and boy did I hit the jackpot with these guys. They are a very easy listen. They give the facts, some jabs at each other, sometimes they agree and sometimes they don’t. These two connect well to tell a story.

My Most Anticipated (5/5)

Each week this podcast is my favorite and I love seeing it pop up. AND we get TWO episodes!! Giddy Up!!! The dudes do their homework and are a great pair of devil’s advocates. I follow many true crime cases from their inception and they usually hit on all the points I recall. I’ve listened for about two years and they really get the job done. Thanks for sharing your time with us and we are most appreciative of your efforts. My True Crime Rockstars.

Addicted (5/5)

I never listened to podcasts before, until now! I just found this pod cast about two weeks ago by accident and I’m completely consumed! Keep ‘em comin! I like the cut of your jib!

FAVORITE podcast (5/5)

I love the Captain. I love Nic. I say “Team Captain AND Team Nic”! At first it was Captains sexy voice, but Nic has really grown on me! I think these guys do a fantastic job with the research on each case and telling each story in detail. I love how Nic is all business reporting and how he totally ignores the Captain when he makes one of his off the cuff remarks (which almost always makes me laugh, btw). I think the music and sound editing are top notch as well, which is very important for a podcast to pay attention to imo. I also love the reviews on which craft beer is in the garage each week. I think it’s a nice addition to the show. I hope the two of them continue to create this podcast and I highly recommend listening to this if you’re a fan of true crime.

"captain" has to go to bring me back (2/5)

the content is great and Nic is fantastic but the "captain" character ruins it for me... not able to continue listening until he goes

Great listen for my hour commute! (5/5)

I’ve been listening to the Captain and the Colonel for only about six months but have accessed many of their older podcasts on Stitcher. They are a great team to listen to and feature well know and local lesser heard of crime stories in a weekly basis. They also have an off the record show on Stitcher Premium that is well worth the five bucks a month. Bottoms up, mates! 🍻

I enjoy this True Crime Podcast (4/5)

I have listened to several episodes and I do like the content and the style, but there a couple of things I think can be improved. Many people have complained about Captain and I see why. He makes some half funny comments which I don’t mind, but then the main speaker doesn’t engage with Captain or even acknowledge the comments which makes me cringe a bit. Also, Captain will add his opinion here and there, but it’s often just a repeat of what was just said by the main speaker. I’d rather him say that agrees and maybe further the conversation with a fresh idea instead. I’d like to hear more chemistry between the 2 speakers and for Captain to add something of value to the podcast if he is going to be in it. I suggest for him to think before he speaks (to refrain from repeating old ideas) and state ideas that are thought provoking to replace those “repeats”.

In love (5/5)

So I wrote a review awhile back about how the Captain was annoying but I’ve grown to love him dearly haha he cracks me up, perfect duo, I adore Nic as well! I downloaded stitcher and went back to the very beginning of the garage! Keep up the great work you two!

Sounds like a conversation with friends (5/5)

I love listening to you guys! I feel like we are my friends... I truly love the approach to telling the story and discussions about details and opinions. And the fact that the cases are handled respectfully with intermittent slightly funny commentary (which I would also have with my friends if I discussed a case with them). I tend to have trouble finding a podcast I enjoy because the over used NPR voices and obvious reading in (ugh!) a lot of true crime podcasts just put me straight to sleep! You guys keep being you and keep helping my day go by one podcast at a time! I like the cut of your gib!!!!

🖤 (5/5)

I don’t leave reviews but I read several that were very negative and I just wanted to help even it out. I LOVE this podcast. I started listening at the Christopher Watts episodes but I’ve since downloaded the stitcher app so I could start from the beginning. These guys are awesome. They do an excellent job of presenting cases from beginning to end with bits of humor throughout. I’m a 911 dispatcher, and I find that when it comes to gruesome crimes and horrific situations, some people use humor as a coping mechanism. I find the Captain funny and I think that the comments he makes help to relieve some of the tension. He’s not trying to disrespect the victims or their families in any way. Even if you don’t like the Captain’s comments, this is still a great podcast to listen to. Do yourself a favor and listen to more than a couple episodes. Keep doin’ what you do guys! You’re the only thing that gets me through the down time in my shift, I listen to you before I go to bed in the mornings, and I truly think my husband is jealous because I listen to you more than I do him (kidding 😂) 🖤TCG💀

Planties 73 (5/5)

I love this show !! Love the banter and humor !! Love how the bottom line of the show is to help solve and bring attention to cold cases !! I also dislike litterbugs ! Love your JIB!!

Favorite true crime boys (5/5)

Treat yo self!

One of my favorite true crime podcasts! (5/5)

For the most part I like this podcast and feel like the hosts can be empathetic but they really need to check their somewhat misogynistic comments. For example, "apparently he was a model prisoner" "Well, a plus sized model prisoner." It's unnecessary. EDIT: I changed this rating to a 5 because I truly believe that Nic and The Captain listened and learned. I find them very empathetic and understanding. They fully research the cases and are great hosts!

Great podcast (5/5)

I like both hosts and I am a female who has no have no idea what the female below me is referring to.

Great podcast (5/5)

I don’t care what anyone says. I love the captain. 😍 None of it sounds rehearsed scripted, they keep politics out of it, and they’re hilarious.

Fantastically entertaining (5/5)

I am addicted to TCG and the way each case is discussed and detailed. I downloaded this podcast this past Friday and have listened to 7-8 shows in 3 days!

Ugh (2/5)

I’ve been listening for quite awhile and while I appreciate certain parts of the content I really dislike the “comedy”. The Captain isn’t funny and I feel like his commentary takes away from what would be a really great podcast. Another thing that bothers me is the ridiculous tangents they both go on speculating what happened during a crime. In some cases I would even say it was even pretty disrespectful to the victims. Just stop. Lastly, can we stop calling WOMEN females? It makes me cringe every time they say it and I can promise you most of the other women who listen don’t appreciate it.

The guy (1/5)

Who is named captain is completely ruining this podcast. He thinks he’s funny but he’s not at all.

Very Interesting Cases (4/5)

I find the cases you cover most intriguing, and The main host tells a good story. I am not always able to follow what the captains points are, and he uses too much profanity when it’s inappropriate. Overall it’s a good podcast.

Great podcast (5/5)

Love the content but the captain guy is annoying and makes dumb jokes at random times but besides that it’s great!

Why?? (5/5)

Why?? Let’s speed up the pod cast so the listeners can’t understand, it sounds horrible. I’ve listen to every episode and now it sounds like it’s on fast forward. It is so bad I can’t even understand what is being said. In a hurry to get it over ?? Why ? If this is the future of every new episode then I’m done, it’s sad because I love the show. Can’t understand what you guys are saying. Checked my settings and I can’t slow it down to normal speed.

Awesome (5/5)

Great podcast.

You guys are awesome! (5/5)

Thank you for making each show captivating and interesting. I now look forward to housework so that I can tune in.

used to be my favorite (1/5)

Captain makes statements that make me cringe. For example, DC fire episode he made a comment about the person not being here legally (when he had a green card). Why say he “he wasn’t even here legally” but he was bc he has a green card. Anyways, I keep listening to it because it’s one of my OGs (why I started listening to TC). Now, I just cringe at the Captian’s useless and dumb comments.

Re; Russell and Shirley Demund Murder (5/5)

Increadible review of the facts of the murders. Very exciting and nail biting.

Love it (5/5)

I find myself anxiously waiting each week for a new episode.

Awesome podcast! (5/5)

This show has really helped my long commute to work! Great case overviews. I do prefer the non-interview episodes though. I like when they review the cases themselves. Great music captain!!

You’ll want to listen to every episode (5/5)

5 Stars for Nic and the Captain!! This should be a show on TV it’s that good. They take you through the whole crime scene, all of the evidence, and describe the suspects keeping you guessing until the end (and even after). Cheers from Columbus! 💖

First and favorite (5/5)

The first podcast I liked and still my favorite!

Why you gotta? (5/5)

Stop hating on the Captain y’all 🤣 and Nic, way to keep it organized, love the show

Disappointed (2/5)

The concept for this podcast is pretty cool, but the execution is very poor. Nik, I believe his name is, does a bad job of delivering a story. The tone and cadence is all over the place. The facts are all over the place. Maybe it’s not them, maybe they have intern writers. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t recommend.

Great listen! (5/5)

This podcast is always FULL of information. I love the chemistry between the two hosts. Really great to listen to in the car!

These guys are awesome 🔥🔪⚰️ (5/5)

Since finding this podcast I will go days without listening to music in my car only True Crime Garage! Keep up the good work guys I love your jib!

Best True crime podcast (5/5)

Stop searching. This is what your looking for.

Get rid of that guy (4/5)

Would be outstanding but for the unfunny and pointless interjections by the deep voiced guy. Adds nothing and actually detracts.

I love TCG! (5/5)

If you listen to true crime, you will LOVE True Crime Garage! It is my favorite podcast! Cheers Nic & Captain!

Love for the captain and the general (5/5)

Don’t normally leave reviews but I read one that I needed to balance out. Keep being yourselves. It’s what makes the show great.

Weekly Favorite (5/5)

Always excited for a new episode! Their dynamic is great—especially when the Captain says something outrageous and Nick completely ignores it, continuing on with his “professional perspective.” Gotta love it. Great job guys. Keep up the amazing, important work!

Million dollar show (5/5)

Great podcast!

“Captain” is the worst (2/5)

I used to be a fan, but the podcast has changed. There’s way too much speculation now and the hosts become more annoying with each episode! The “captain” is the worst. He doesn’t contribute any helpful information. He’s just along for sarcasm and poor attempts at humor.

Great podcast except... (3/5)

I really enjoy the stories they present and the style of the podcast. However, I’m not a fan of some of the insensitive and sometimes derogatory statements made (usually by the captain) about people involved in the cases. This is especially true of people who use drugs and sex workers. The language is insensitive, and he spends a lot of time pointing out that a person who uses drugs isn’t making good choices, so it’s no surprise they’ve died. These comments are super cringe and I’ve had to leave a few episodes unfinished because of this. Also, no warning when 911 calls are played.

I tell all my friends about TCG (5/5)

I tell all of my friends and family about True Crime Garage. The cases are fascinating and the hosts keep it interesting! Thanks for keeping me hooked at work and in the car! Alice

Awesome! (5/5)

I found this podcast fairly recently and love it! I immediately binged all of the episodes I could get and then I realized I could download Stitcher and get all of the old episodes, I’m currently burning through all of those at a ridiculous rate. Thanks for making me look forward to Tuesdays!

Episode 302: The Best Ever? (5/5)

re: John Douglas, The Mind Hunter by now, I’ve listened to almost all 300+ shows (not the premium stuff, because I’m tight), and this show not only is the best one YOU guys have ever done, it may very well be one of the best shows of this GENRE that I’ve ever heard. Mr Douglas is one of the most user-friendly psycho-forensic experts I’ve ever encountered. (Note: I recently retired after 35 years as a public defender and private criminal defense attorney, so I do have some knowledge in the subject matter.) Not only does he have vast and deep knowledge and experience, he also has a rare ability to share and explain it. That he chose to seek you guys out is quite the high honor and compliment. Seriously. That said, the quality of your shows has continued to increase in depth and complexity. It has moved far beyond “just” entertainment, and while still maintaining that quality, you both are exhibiting keen insight and compassion to your cases. Kudos to you and all involved with the production of this podcast. I’m diggin’ it. Keep it up. - kim west, bicycle racer, greyhound adopter, and former bleeding heart attorney

Don’t be fooled, the hosts are actually... (1/5)

...just 10 yr old boys who got a hold of Zoltar from Big. If you’re looking for a podcast with random sound effects like a beer being poured, techno-ish music that gets played for way too long - perhaps to hit a minimum time requirement, and a man who puts his microphone in his mouth like a lollipop, every so often interrupting the other man’s 5th grade book report to spew nonsense, then this podcast is for you!

Mehhh (3/5)

Not sure what the captains purpose is in this podcast. He’s not needed..

Love em (5/5)

Jiblets McGee (5/5)

Love these guys! I also love the Ohio cases that are researched because I have close ties to some of them. It’s nice to know that these smaller cases aren’t being overlooked! OH-IO

Best True Crime podcast! (5/5)

Finally found my favorite podcast. Nice and The Captain do an amazing job. After listening to all the episodes in the Apple store I HAD to download the stitcher app to get my garage fix. Thank you guys for making my commute much more enjoyable. My husband is now telling everyone if he likes their Jib. He is team Captain, but I am Team Nic! Keep up the great work! We love you guys!! -Tabitha

Spectacular (5/5)

I recently needed/wanted to broaden my pod listening, I listened to Amy Hooper episode and was hooked. The guys do a great job leaving no stone unturned in coverage of all the cases and really allows me to open up my imagination and they build my curiosity with every second of listening. The only problem about TCG, is that there is not an episode EVERYDAY, it’s that good! Keep up the great work and I’ll be tellin’ a friend! Don’t Litter! Sincerely, Clint

DC Mansion Murders (5/5)

Thanks so much for the DC Mansion Murders episode. I worked for Savvas Savopoulos for many years and still work for American Iron Works and he was a wonderful, kind, caring boss. You did wonderful research on this case and my hat is off to you for doing a wonderful job!!

One of my favs (5/5)

Love these guys. Well researched and very entertaining!

This show touches my heart (5/5)

I think you’re either going to love this show or hate it. I’ve loved it since the beginning. The level of research is incredible and Nic knows his stuff. I personally enjoy the banter and the break from the horror of the subject matter. My opinion is that the hosts are gentle souls and they care very much about the victims, male or female. I am a woman who has encountered sexism and these two are not that. If The Captain goes overboard at times I feel it comes from his visceral reaction to the crimes. And I just can’t agree that he’s stupid. I think it’s quite the opposite. Thank you both for the contribution you’ve made to my life.

To many pauses (1/5)

Doesn’t have what it takes to Carry a story. To many pauses in between. And his voice unfortunately is not what I want to hear when I’m listening to a crime story.

Th Captain is a Misogynist and Racist (1/5)

I used to really enjoy this podcast until I realized i’ve heard numerous problematic things from ‘The Captain’. For example saying “woman are by nature nosey” and imitating how POC may have sounded and poking fun of their language. I can no longer support this kind of bigotry

Great podcast! (5/5)

Love these guys!! I can’t wait to listen to each new podcast.

The best (5/5)

Hands down the best true crime podcast.

Just Listen, People (5/5)

So, I wait every week for whatever episode Nic and The Captain are going to share! It's not weird y'all... Anyway, if you want a straight forward story with zero back and forth or conversation about it, this podcast isn't for you. I, personally, love the back and forth. Ideas are presented that I hadn't thought of and they get you thinking. Also, I like that Nic and The Captain have no problem disagreeing with each other. The quips and jokes are fun too! Keep it up, y'all!

The Captain Cracks Me Up! (4/5)

I just found this podcast and started listening yesterday. I enjoy the music and the story telling enough to continue listening to more. At first, the Captain threw me off with his side comments that Nic seems to just brush off but now it literally cracks me up hearing him chime in with his two cents. I also love the intro with the beer sponsors and how it makes me envision sitting around a fire listening to stories.

5/5 (5/5)

TCG guys are great! They give you more than a Google research breakdown of the cases, which is more than a lot of true crime podcasts do. Nic and the Captain are two of my buds and they don’t even know it!!! Keep up the great work! Taylor

Painfully Read (3/5)

Clearly reading from a script, sounding like a robot which makes it boring to listen to. They cover cases in detail and stick to the facts though which is appreciated.

Informative and entertaining (5/5)

Thanks for bringing awareness to these cases!

Awesome! (5/5)

Love it guys!!!

Best True Crime podcast!! (5/5)

From Indianapolis Indiana! Had my dad recommend this podcast to me and I am a hooked listener now. Have been binge listening to them for a couple of weeks now! Keep it up boys! Cheers!

the best true crime podcast (5/5)

my favorite podcast hands down.
