I have never listened to podcasts and don't know anyone who does I stumbled upon parcast after some searching and quickly became addicted.
I really like the podcast the Murders are very interesting. However I am not a fan of the bad acting when the dramatizations are performed.
I actually really like this podcast. The guy has a great voice and demeanor but the girl..... lord her voice is fine but the way she delivers content often sounds like she’s reading children’s books.
So first day listening while I run, but engaging, and a great mix of narrative and dramatic recreation! I downloaded a half dozen more podcasts when I got home. If you like true crime, done right with just enough drama to bring it from a documentary to a show playing out on your head, this is for you. Very highly recommend!
Most episodes focus on “RACISM”; that white people, in fact, are racist. The subjective and leading re-enactments can appear to be written by sophomoric, snarky NPCs. As a Sith, white male I already know that I’m an oppressor and guilty (media told me) but if there is a valid vacuum of diversity in the aether, it’s this podcast. #yeet
Reminds me of the old time radio programs. I really enjoy the format and the hosts are wonderful. I prefer when they get right to it and don’t make a lot of ridiculous small talk. That’s exactly what these two do, discuss the case without extra fluff.
Please please PLEASE look into the Jonbenet Ramsey murder!!!
One of the most informative packed true crime podcasts! Give it a listen!
I don’t understand why they use generic American accented voice actors for every story, even for those based in Britain or Canada! It's historically inaccurate and insulting. The cases are interesting but I’m unsubscribing because I can’t stand to listen to the bad re-enactments.
Love the stories and re-enactments of the events. Great job!
I like the emphasis on the victim's life and I like the recreations. It's a captivating podcast.
The core content is good, the re-enactments are kinda hit or miss, but what really bothers me is Wendy’s voice. It’s got a weird raspy granny character to it and I just can’t bring myself to enjoy hearing it. :(
This podcast stands out for storytelling.
The meat of these stories is good. I like cases, the detail is good, I just LOATHE the re-enactments. The actors are bad and they come off as cheesy and it feels kind of disrespectful of the nature of it. If they were to just cut out the dramatic renditions this podcast would be soooo good. But with them, I can’t even make it through a whole episode.
Being in law enforcement, I love true crime, and love hearing the facts about these cases. The hosts aren’t annoying, and do a good job. But the completely unnecessary dramatizations are performed by the most annoying, aggravating, worst actors alive.
The dramatizing make the cases so real. Really either show.
I was really excited for this but the way that they tell the stories is annoying... the hosts go back and forth each saying a sentence or two and I cannot follow
I love how all the stories are told. Including true readings and such makes a great twist. I can’t get enough.
I love how this is dramatized, it makes you feel as if your one of the detectives in the plot. You can picture most scenes, as acting is wonderfully done, as well as descriptive. I just hope as time goes by, new evidence can happen, will these unsolved cases be updated? Thanks for my new enjoyment while at work.
Listen while you still can.....
I only recently started listening to the show (within the last year or so) but I love this podcast. The hosts are very personable and keep the energy of the story going throughout each episode. The voice actors combined with the detailed history of each crime work together well to make a complete account of each case. I have even been inspired to start trying to analyze cases on my own. Overall, great work to the hosts, production team, writers, etc.
Pretty good and informative podcast. Only complaint would be the re-enacting, voice acting is terrible and hard to listen too. Takes away from the real life story.
Absolutely love listening to the unsolved murders and all the other podcast episodes on my iPhone. Great job.
Please stop with the awful acting in the re-enactments.
It would be so much better if you just told the story without the cheesy characters.
Seriously not to be crude, who really cares about Bella in the witch elm? It was during ww2 when millions of people died. 3 episodes on this come on.
The voice acting is bad. Just tell the story. but i wont give you a bad review the show is great
Love Carter and Wendy! The re-enactments are cool addition. The information about the history and historical events surrounding the crimes are awesome. I am completely addicted to this show. Thanks for releasing the older episodes. I can’t get enough and it is great to be about to hear the shows I missed.
Love the show. So glad Wendy lost her last sentence that was so demeaning to both the audience and the people and story your telling The last three stories should’ve been three separate stories.
I’ve been listening to this podcast for a while and enjoy it. However this last episode was difficult to listen to. I don’t see why the 2 murders were combined, besides the fact that they took place in the same region of the world. The story and “connections” felt like an English Comp assignment where the teacher just picked 2 books with a few common motifs and assigned a 5 page paper connecting them. What a waste of time, could’ve wrapped up each in their own 1-part episode.
The content, pacing and hosts are good. Some of the music choice and the dramatized segments are really bad. I have only listened to the two part episode on Adam Walsh, but the reinacted segments were ridiculous and unnecessary! These segments combined with some music gave a campy vibe to the show which I found completely inappropriate. Just stick to the straight up storyline without the dramatizations and this show would be so much better imo.
The voice actors are pretty terrible, but the hosts voices & actual information about the cases is fascinating. I don’t think the re-enactments are necessary though
I love this podcast so much and I’m recommending it to everyone I know!
Very interesting and I love the narrators!
Please just tell the story stop with the weird little play it is H O R R I B L E
This is my favorite podcast. I appreciate the way the story is told. I am so excited to listen to the back catalogue!
It’s like listening to a cheap amusement park theater production.
Stop using the death of human beings as a capitalistic attempt of a joke. Your sound effects and dialogue are both absolutely abhorrent and rude to those whose stories you are supposed to be telling. Neither of you seem to be professionals, nor professional about anything in this podcast, yet you should still hold yourselves to a certain standard when storytelling about these cases. Reporting requires a level finesse that you both lack when it comes to repeating cases and I can’t imagine what the families or victims would think when listening to these half a**ed podcasts.
I wanted to like it but I was bored with the whole thing. There were random spouts of information that was honestly not relevant or necessary to the plot. I understand this woman was shoved into a tree but I don’t need to know every minute detail about said tree just give me the basic info needed for the story and move on. I was almost asleep listening to it. The voice acting was crap too.
I really like listening to these murders. They are so fascinating and make me want to keep listening. You can listen to them when you are doing anything. I hope they keep making you them!!
I have honestly enjoyed every episode I have listened to by these two!
Good stories but the accents are way off, inconsistent. Listeners will benefit from voice actors studying intonation, idioms, and accents of individuals portayed.
I’ve been binge listening for the last 8 hours. These stories are amazing!!!
This Podcast Is AWESOME! The acting is VERY cheesy though. Makes me shiver, I love it!
I could definitely do without the acting bits. Just tell the story
The acting is terrrrrrible! BUT the 2 narrators are GREAT! I love how they give their opinions on who they think my be the “killer”based on the facts they’ve presented at the closing of the show. But seriously guys, those character actors playing victims/ people involved in the crimes.... yikes!
The acting is pretty cheesy but I do enjoy the stories.
I decided to stop listening to parcast because every show they have the switch between narrators every two sentences. It’s super distracting and annoying. I don’t know who told them that was a good idea because it’s done on all of their shows.
Crime in sports check it out James and jimmy are the best not this cheap copy
I like that they do a lot of research however the voice acting is too much and the older women’s voice does not fit. It’s strange to hear her say the word “corpses and murder” with so much enthusiasm. Comes off a little cheesy! Hopefully it’ll get better.
This is a really good Podcast, the story telling keeps you interested. However, it could be better. Listeners are not stupid, we don’t need to be told when behaviors are racist; I think it was said in one episode about twenty times. It’s distracting, please stop so we can focus on the story.
i just started listening to this podcast, started at the beginning! i love it! it reminds me of the ‘stories’ people used to listen to on the radio back before TVs were a thing! i love it! keep up the great work 🖤
The show is really well researched and interesting, but w o o f those re-enactments are bad. I can usually power through them for the good stuff, though.
I always look forward to new episodes of this podcast
Such good listens
I’ve been listening for more than 2 years. This show never fails me.
I love unsolved murders. Gets me thinking and looking at different angles in attempt to solve the case. I like the voice acting too because they are telling a story and it’s like it comes to life. What I love about parcast is that it’s not the normal radio show discussions. It’s a story it’s the hosts inviting you on an adventure with them. Love it! Great work guys!
I don’t enjoy the re-enactments as feel it takes away from the episodes. Either the voice actors should actually use accents and be better or skip them all together.
I knew as soon as I heard the voices what this was another parcast podcast scripted heavily or atleast it sounds like it. I made it less than a minute before stopping. a podcast about mysteries should be full of discussion and theories not a monotone boring script reading of the story only and that’s it.
I truly love this podcast, it gets me in detective mode just hearing the cases but at the same time it tugs on emotions which to me is great! Another thing is that I see some comments saying that the acting is awful but they did say that it would be dramatic soooo I don’t know what the other comments are talking about 🤷♀️ I would be sure to keep listening in☺️💕
The stories are great and well researched, but the voice acting is absolutely terrible. I mean I just listened to one that takes place in Australia, no one even tried to do an Australian accent.
Such a great listen! I have heard every episode multiple times especially while laying down for bed. I love the story mode approach and the soothing voices of the narrators. The cases are also so intriguing. Highly recommended! I listen to almost of the network platforms. Keep up the great work!!!!
I can’t get past the acting - it’s horrible. I think the content is good enough to stand on its own. Tell me the story. Don’t make me listen to a bad actor who can’t even be believable on audio alone.
I’ve only listened to this for a few minuets and I enjoy them! But try to make it seem MORE authentic.
Awesome love it 👍👍👍👍👍
I really like the stories and the hosts but I have to stop listening because of the extremely annoying voice of one of the female actors. Just can no longer take it. I really find the whole acting thing unnecessary. Just the fax man
SeeeWWast🖕🏿w aesse wee day
I have just subscribed and I already feel like I will like all the episodes
They summarize the case well and give different perspective. Also, they have voice actors to make it seem like you know the person leading up to the murder. Overall, it’s an interesting podcast that allows you to question everyone and decide who is guilty in the end.
Can’t listen to more than 5 mins. Shame, could be good otherwise.
This is the first podcast I have discovered that has held my attention for several episodes. They make some interesting conclusions to the facts of the cases.
I listen to them while drawing or when I don’t have WiFi. Sometimes they spooky, but that’s what you expect. It so interesting to listen to! Would recommend
They recount really interesting cases and do a great job at including a lot of details.
I’ve been really into this podcast. I think they’re super in depth and interesting.
The show is good if you just like a good story. The voice actors are pretty good, but it’s all VERY scripted and more of a romanticized story about the people involved than actual statements and facts from the case. And no, they do not try to “solve the case” like they say in the intro. They spend two episodes talking about the characters from literal childhood to adulthood and then mention the actual crime briefly and at the end they say “oh I think it was this guy” and she says “I disagree it was this guy” to be the devils advocate and then the show is over. But if you like a good spooky story with an unanswered mystery this show is great!
Ugh, I love this podcast so much! I especially love the re-enactments. It’s not for everyone, but I am such a huge fan, and I can’t find any other podcasts that do that. The content is unique, and I anxiously await every Tuesday for a new episode (I think I have listened to every single one). I even subscribed to Stitcher Premium JUST to listen to old episodes. I also really enjoy listening to Wendy and Carter's voice; it's so soothing. Please don't ever stop making these!
I keep trying this podcast because the stories are different from the usual true crime stories, and I like hearing new ones. But the dramatizations are cringey! Cheesy and completely unnecessary. Not sure I’ll keep listening, though I’ll probably try it again in a little while to see if they stopped doing the dramatizations.
Good!but Molly and Richard are a BIT monotone and slow with the story. There is profanity in a little bit of the time, but other than that it’s GREAT!!! Recommend this to anyone who is interested in crime stories and mysteries.👍
Wendy kinda sounds like Betty White but I very much enjoy the content.
I love how the story is played out! My favorite part!
This podcast often presents cases not presented by other programs. Sadly the whole “radio theatre” format does not make for an interesting presentation-just the opposite. The presenters pretty much ruin every podcast they are on.
this podcast is so interesting, and i definitely recommend it!
I have a hard time with Molly’s voice as well as the dramatization. The information is interesting however.
What’s up with Mrs. Potts and a grown Chip reading sentences back and forth? It’s awful - won’t be listening because of it which is a shame because the content was intriguing.
Those re-enactments ruin an otherwise mediocre podcast.
Heard about you this n Southern Fried True Crime. Love the back and forth narration and the stories. Keep them coming! 👍🏻🙂
I like the stories, but feel like harder work needs to be put into pronouncing places and names. I teach Arkansas History an was curious about the Murder of Clayton podcast. Through out the episode Pine Bluff was pronounced as “Pine BluffS.”
Wendy’s voice is too hard to listen to for this type of content. Put her on a different podcast and maybe get Vanessa or someone onto this one, because seriously Wendy’s voice alone was what caused me to unsubscribe. Also maybe fix the re-enactments/dramatizations or ditch them they’re also godawful. Otherwise the actual content is great it just is too hard to listen to...
Love the writing and the hosts! Please keep it going. Guess that means I want there to be more unsolved murders out there- and that makes me an awful person, lol
The hosts and stories are great but the “reenactments” are so bad, it makes it hard to listen to.
The stories are interesting- the voice acting is hilariously bad
I don’t mean to be rude but the lady host is super annoying to listen to. Her voice is scratchy. It sounds like she smokes four packs of cigarettes before she records. The re-enactments are also really weird and it makes it hard for me to lose myself in the story. I do enjoy hearing about cases I haven’t heard of. I just wish you’d change the host and lose the skits.
Was it removed? I listened to half of it this morning and now I can’t find it.
It’s like a local theater production or a vintage radio show. The narrative is fine- it’s the b-rated actors the kill the podcast.
Get ride of the lady and youre on to something. Sorry just cant handle her voice. Needs a cough drop.
The narration of “reenactments” can definitely go. It’s cheesy and unnecessary. I skip past it. The opening statement says they “try to solve the case” but really the episodes are just a retelling of known facts. There’s nothing that leads me to believe they’re actually trying to solve anything. Everything is scripted, and I prefer podcast with more of a conversational flow where things are actually discussed between people.
I absolutely love this podcast! Every part of it is masterfully made! Thanks so much for making this!!!
I’m addicted, I love how they discuss the cases and add some skits.
Great cases but the narration reminds me of Storytelling hour in Kindergarten- just with involved murders. Awful -makes it tough to listen to.
I like the idea of trying to recreate the old radio style of entertainment, but the episodes are edited with some serious cheese overkill, and my ears are feeling lactose intolerant.
I don’t mind listening to the guy narrate, but hate the overly cheesy female narrator. The voices used in the re-enactments are always awful. The stories are good, but it’s hard to listen to.
It’s pretty gud
The re-enactments are cheesy and could be done better. Women always sound like children.
This one isn’t my favorite.. I listen to pretty much all Parcast shows.. this one just bothers me..
Unoriginal content. Today 7/23 their episode was released, it is the same exact case as Jensen and Holes the murder squad. Jensen and Holes episode was released yesterday 7/22, theirs was released today. A very strange coincidence.
Why do they use a female actor that always sounds like an adult, trying to puns like a little girl? No matter hat part she’s playing, she sounds like that. Really distracting.
I’m a frequent listener of My Favorite Murder, but when I’m caught up on those episodes, I listen to this. The narrators aren’t afraid to tell the stories of more gruesome murders I find interesting, but the storytelling itself is overdramatic and sensationalized. Specific events are made less factual in an attempt to tell a riveting story. This podcast fails to do so as we don’t know what victims’ thoughts were or precisely all of their movements. It is made even worse by the persistently cheesy and unprofessional voice acting that sounds overly scripted and uses the same small handful of actors in every single episode.
this podcast scares me!🥶 i love it so much though!! and it’s on soundcloud!
CThe so-called actresses/actors are so super CHEESY, it’s extremely cringeworthy!! I HATE this podcast!!!These voice actors are over dramatic and totally unnecessary ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️DO NOH WASTE YOUR TIME‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
I wish they covered cases that weren’t from so long ago
I really like your podcast and would have totally have given you a 5 star review however, your constant request for a 5 star reviews makes me not want to listen to your podcasts any more! Ask for a review that’s ok but please stop asking for a 5 star review that’s up to the listener not you all. It instantly made me think negatively about your podcast and I turned away wen I first heard it until I thought that I may give it a try. Constructive feedback is valuable so welcome it positive feedback feels better but if you want to grow listen to the constructive ones too and ask for them! Joshua
The narrators!!! Annoying. I want to lose myself in the story, not be jarred to reality by a poor narration
I enjoy this podcast, especially its emphasis on older cases I would never have heard of elsewhere. But in the episodes on the “Scottish Nightingale,” the narrators complained so much about the racism of nearly everyone associated with the case, it distracted from the story they were telling. I don’t need to be constantly reminded that racism is evil - I already know that. Instead of allowing me to digest the obvious harm of the racism inflicted on Wong (in which case, it would have been far more potent and effective), I kept thinking, “why do the narrators keep coming back to this?” I became focused on the storytellers, not the story. A good storyteller doesn’t have to tell the audience what to think - just show us what happened, and let us make our own decisions about what’s evil and what’s not. The constant reminders that everyone was racist sounded more like virtue signaling than honest storytelling. If this occurs in many more episodes, I’ll stop listening.
For a company with a production budget as large as there’s I gotta say the quality is really lacking. While I enjoy the subject matter of most of their shows, I find the opinionated narrators and overly-scripted storytelling absolutely off-putting. And the re-enactments are so tacky and poorly delivered the episodes are at times hard to listen to. Not for me...
It’s a great Podcast just the reenactment is not good at all.
Honestly loved this pod cast especially season 1 which was my favorite however I feel like their stories have gotten a tad Boring. I hope they spruce it up. I’d also love to hear more recent unsolved murders. Other than that i love the narrators and the change of voices for each character! Hopefully it gets better and I will change this to 5 stars lol
The voice actors are horrible and don’t even bother trying to put on the appropriate accents for the story...bleh.
It’s distracting and annoying.
Your podcast makes my morning drive to work exciting!!!!
The voice actors are awful and the dialogue is terrible and contrived. listen to Easey Street pt. 2 if you don’t believe me.
I’ve been trying to get into podcasts and I’ve been looking for some good murder porn with no luck finding anything. Until I came across this one! The actors add a great imagination to the episodes! Listen to it every morning!
Re enactments are annoying.
Lost a star because of the voice actors’ limited range. They play the same character regardless off the period, location, and roll of the person being depicted. Lost another star because of Wendy’s reading of copy especially the tag line “if we live ‘till next time.” *cringe
I am closely tied to one of the cases they reviewed, and there was simple information that was not researched correctly. Wrong names, locations, and information that is widely and easily available (multiple books written and published where the information is available).
Love the voice actors. Add depth to the stories
the voice acting is god awful, it makes it nearly unlistenable. it is an acceptable podcast, but it’s not good.
I like the story telling by the two hosts but the re-enactments are unfunny and ruin the suspense of a true crime podcast. They’re cringe worthy
The only issue I have is that the recreations are hokey. Otherwise I love the stories and that they don’t go off topic or laugh and make jokes like other true crime podcasts do.
I’ve been subscribed for a while, and I keep coming back because for the most part the stories they pick are interesting (I’m an avid consumer of true crime stories and most of these are new to me) and the writing for the main hosts is decent. However. The acting. You guys. The acting. At first I thought it was because it was a newer podcast so they were using whatever voice actors they could find, but they’ve kept with more or less the same cast and it hasn’t gotten better. And honestly, sometimes I can’t tell if it’s the actors fault or they just have terrrrible writing to deal with. Or maybe the producers are doing a favor to some struggling actor friends? Whatever the case, the “re-enactment” portions of the show are sometimes painful to listen to. I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into the show with the foley effects and the fact that they’re able to crank out shows on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, but dear GOD. Get your voice actors into a class, stat.
I was excited when I started listening to the Unsolved Murders podcast but the voiceover acting and script is terrible. Interesting stories but struggling to listen past the acting.
The narrators do a great job of telling the stories of these unsolved murders. I like that they don’t get distracted with side conversations/inside jokes. Makes it much easier to follow along.
I love the dual host! If you guys need a new unsolved case...look into the 8 ladies that were murdered in Jennings La. there was a book written about it and ID channel just did a 2 part documentary. Case is still unsolved.
The worst part of the series is that I get into the stories and want the crime to actually be solved! I guess that's the danger of listening to a podcast called "Unsolved Murders."
While I do enjoy the content, I have significant issues with this podcast. First, I don’t need Wendy to keep urging listeners to leave a five-star review. I feel almost as though I’m expected to rate the podcast as a 5 simply because we’re being bullied into doing so. We are capable of deciding what rating we feel is fair. Secondly, the cheesy favor is almost at the Velveeta level. Hokey music track, always the concluding remark about living until the next podcast. Please!
Absolutely no complaints this has quickly become my favorite podcast
Such a well done podcast and I thoroughly enjoy listening to all the interesting cases that Carter and Wendy talk about.
very relaxing a bit silly at times but very entertaining
I love the two Narrators they make it Interesting to listen to
The dialogue is goofy... what strange re-enactments.... Meh..
I love this podcast. I haven’t listened to too many before, as they seem to lose my attention. But this one has me holding on and wondering what will happen next.
I listened to a few episodes. I tried to like it, it just wasn’t for me.
The complaints about this podcast are kind of funny. I like the hosts, and their back and forth style when going over the crime. The re-enactments are OK, I don’t find them particularly jarring.
Love the stories!
I’m a big fan of the way this is narrated. I love how the hosts play off each other without having an inside conversation with each other. I like how at the end each possible conclusion is revisited and the facts weighed out. So although it’s “unsolved” the listener can kind of make an assumption of who did it on their own.
Wow, where to begin? The back and forth, stilted narration between the man and the woman is unappealing, mainly because there doesn’t seem to be any fluidity to how they read that makes it difficult to follow. Even worse, the “re-enactments” they present are jarring and not done very well. Lastly, when the woman signs off with, “If we live till next time” just seems gleefully inappropriate. If you value your time, or admire quality podcasts about true crime, then avoid this one. Trust me.
I listen on Apple Podcast, I have listened to the first 2 episodes and both cut off before the end. Almost like the full episodes were not uploaded properly. They cut off in mid word and that’s the end, not able to finish the stories. VERY disappointing!
I love this podcast! The narrators are good storytellers and very clear in speach. I like listening to podcasts when i’m driving so this is perfect, especially because i’m into crime stories!
The re-enactments in this podcast are cringe-worthy and the hosts are just okay. Parcast should drop this show and focus on their better shows (Crimes of Passion is a new favorite of mine)
I love the narrations, maybe because I’m a child at heart, but having the different voices act it out really entertains me. I listen to it while I’m doing my work and it makes the day speed by.
Totally pro podcast, that is if you can tolerate the incessant solicitation for 5 stars. Please give us 5 stars because the Cutlers need to make more money. And poor Wenndy couldn’t get a job so the Cutlers gave her some work and she is the worst voice over person on the planet. Ech!
Cheesy, dramatic, and awful back and forth narration. Unfortunate esp bc they’re telling real people’s’ stories. I tried, but Will unsubscribe.
Hard to listen to. Talk about murder , bored to death hearing them sound like there reading index cards. And the dramatization of events are horribly tacky done badly and numerous times than not.. Unappropriate embarrssingly so..
This is a solid true crime podcast done in a professional manner, using voice actors, dramatizations, etc rather than the single narrator or “duo” style that is so popular at the moment. But I have to say that this podcast needs more life — more energy and much better dramatizations if you are going to use them. ALSO PLEASE HIRE ACTORS WITH APPROPRIATE ACCENTS! Seriously, having American actors with American accents and using modern American lingo portray two Australian women who were murdered in the seventies is just such poor form, and it ruins any sense of realism. What’s the point? You should at least invest enough effort to hire actors who can perform or who actually possess the correct accents. This is a problem throughout unfortunately.
The episode flow is completely off. It’s so irritating to be driving and listening and it doesn’t go in order to the next episode. It automatically plays the wrong follow up. Stopped listening because of this issue. Tried again hoping it was fixed, it’s not.
This has quickly become my favorite podcast! I got a Stitcher Premium acct just so I could listen to all the old episodes! I’m allowed to listen to headphones at work, and my commute is about an hour each way, so it’s great to listen to.
I really enjoy this show. Not only are the hosts great, the dramatizations and voice actors do an amazing job. I also really like that the show covers several cases I am unfamiliar with which is difficult because I’m a bit of a true crime junkie.
Carter and Wendy’s voices are made for podcasting. These stories and reenactments are wonderfully told. They keep me on the edge of my seat trying to help solve the crime with them. Keep up the great work! Parcast is my favorite!
I love it, so entertaining. I’ll have to find older episodes...
Within 1 month, a case was repeated between Unsolved Murders & Serial Killers. Why not do a crossover episode between the 2 shows? Why repeat the case so close together when you have an audience that listens to both?
I love this podcast. I just started podcasting in the last few months, but I actually subscribed to stitcher specifically to listen to all past episodes of this. Bummed out I’m all caught up, I need more episodes!
Would be a decent/tolerable podcast if not for the awful “voice actors” and the monotone narration. The dialog clearly read from a script and is so unnatural. Painful to listen to.
The reenactments are cheesy. The female narrator’s voice is not pleasant.
Every time the second episode of a new podcast happens they make a new one. Every time a New Democrat pops up so does a new parcast podcast. Im rating five stars cause this is a great podcast
Great podcast me and my sister love it and listen to it every night 👍
I just started listening to podcasts (I know, late to the game) and this was one of the first shows I came across. I absolutely love the stories you share and how you story tell! I have listened to other podcasts with similar topics and they do not story tell the way you guys do. I look forward to your future podcasts! Thanks for making great content!
Keeps me enticed! I love the voice acting and storytelling. It keeps me engaged on long flights. Thank you parcast💕
Honestly I fell asleep in the 1st 5 minutes n woke up after the podcast ended. The whole mother and son combination is creepy and when there reading is deff to my ears. I’m No
the voices are great for interest. carter is a very good story teller!
Actually, there isn’t too much I like about this podcast, but the re-enactments are awful.
These two make the best pair! Their story telling abilities are superb, sound quality is great and the variety of unsolved murder topics is new, fresh and exciting!
Concluding every episode with Wendy: “if we live till next time” = CRINGE
Love this podcast! Look forward to every Tuesday for a new episode!
I love listening to this podcast! Very entertaining and I love trying to solve these mysteries.
This is my very favorite podcast and when I caught up, I was so sad because now I have to wait a week for new episodes. Carter is the reason I listen to other shows on the par cast network.
Great show, excellent subject matter. Love the format and writing. And the hosts!
This podcast is addicting!!! I can’t stop listening!! It is enticing and keeps you at the edge of your seat!! Some people seem to think that the narrators are way too energetic and the little acting clips are too dramatic, but I particularly appreciate them, the narrators make the podcast more exciting, and the acting shorts are just a little spice to the story. I definitely recommend this podcast!
Well done! Excellent cast & crew!
Always something interesting on Unsolved!
I just recently started listening to podcasts and so far the ones I came across I didn’t like until I came across this one. It’s really well put together! You guys have a beginning, middle, and end. You guys tell a good story and stick to the story. You don’t skip and jump around making it really easy to listen to and follow along. I also looove the dramatic re-enactments. I don’t care what anyone else says! It helps you get a better feel on what went on and feel what everyone might have felt before and after the murder.
I’ve never liked podcast until April 15,2019. I can’t stop listening to them. I’m almost through all the ones on pandora radio. Thank you for making my 12 hour days go by a lot more smooth
1. Unnecessary “dramatizations” that serve no purpose other than filler, are poorly-acted and add nothing to the story 2. Speculation based on aforementioned dramatizations 3. Awkward pacing and difficult to get through This is such a good concept but ruined by poor delivery and hokey acting.
I love this because y’all don’t play around when you talk and tell the truth.
Reenactment are silly and distracting. I prefer reporting not melodrama
I’m all about Murder mysteries that I can literally binge all day if I had the time. Since I’m always on the go my boyfriend told me to look up Murder podcasts so I can hear them while I’m out and about. I was hesitant at first because the idea of listening to other people talk seemed so boring. I tried a couple other podcasts and just was not Interested, but just as I was giving up, I came across this one. I must say I am ADDICTED. I love the fact that they rein-act every story and at the end they give their theory. It’s so good and exciting. Definitely recommend!
This is a strange podcast. The woman who reads sounds way to happy when reading these stories of pain and tragedy.
NO ONE has conversations like those used in the "melodrama" style of this podcast. I like to binge listen to podcasts. I can barely get through one or two of these. The "melodrama" dialogues are banal, tedious, and monotonous. The stories are very interesting, but the dialogues are so distracting it's impossible to listen. I've given this podcast three tries. I won't give it another.
A friend recommended this for me. I’m in advanced class, and the unit they are doing is podcasts. This is sooo good. I really like it, but one thing you could do is maybe not advertise the survival podcast so much. Just a suggestion. Also, could you have a list of you first to latest episodes? It would be VERY helpful. Overall, nice job!
I really enjoy the podcast but I'm not a fan of the two part stories. I tend to only listen if I know it's a one episode story.
Actors reading anything besides a book on tape is entertainment death. Try a new format. Next ...
I’m a true crime fan and enjoy the content of this podcast but the re-enactments can throw you off a sound a bit cheesy especially the male actor with the 1960’s radio commercial voice. He totally takes away from the seriousness and suspense of the stories. I do like the hosts chemistry and their assessments of the crimes.
Full of good information and the characters reenactment made me feel more empathic about the sad story . It’s my first time listening and the actors kept me entertained and wanting to know what was going to happened next.
I don’t care for the reenactments, they always sound cheesy.
I love the content and the information provided but I am not a fan of the lady that impersonates or acts out the characters involved, the voice she uses comes across way over the top and sounds very fake. Maybe tone it down and just tell us what happened, it’s a podcast not theater.
I love this podcast, and I am impressed with how much information is provided!
Love the dual narration and the re-enactments 😊👍🏻
The cases are interesting but the re-enactments can be a little corny.
This podcast is wonderful. However, the acting is mediocre.
It’s like I’m listening to Rocket Attack USA or some other utterly terrible 50s B-movie that’s mostly narrated. It’s really distracting from any research or interesting content. Parcast usually has good stuff, but this is almost forced, like, “how many more podcasts can we push out in record time...?” Ugh.
Great way to pass the time away. You can tell they really do their research
One of the few podcasts I actually look forward to. I enjoy the acting out of some of the story. Keeps my attention.
Love the stories and the actors/voices are great; truly authentic.
This podcast is great! I’m always eager to listen when a new one comes out every week! I thoroughly enjoy listening to the narrators and cast, they do an excellent job and always keep me intrigued!
I wanted to like this podcast but the re-enactments throw me off. It reminds me of like middle or high school English teachers asking students to re-enact passages for the class and there’s no reading fluency, its. Very. Line. By. Line.
I enjoy these intriguing mysteries particularly of the past. I think the research is excellent and the writing makes the stories alive. I honestly hang on every word. My only criticism is the two narrators have voices that do not complement each other. I always am thinking that it’s a mother and son relating a story which kind of makes it weird feeling; there is that much disparity between the two voices. However I do enjoy this series and look forward to each episode.
I actually think the voices go well with the podcast. What are people looking for, a perky young woman with a bubbly voice? These voices are not to creepy and not too excited. I really don’t find y’all distracting at all, if people have listened to multiple podcasts... they would realize that there are many shows that are duos on shows. Maybe they need to speak to a doctor about their attention details? Keep doing what you are doing!
These stories are really well researched as well and put together. The production is very unique- playing very much on historic drama radio plays. Easy to work to. Fun to listen to.
I love when two people do a true crime podcast together and just have fun
Love to listen to when I am at the gym!!
I really appreciate that they cover cases that aren’t as heard of, but the hosts include way too much unnecessary information. Their chronological take on the cases are usual in true crime podcasts, but they go so far back into the persons’ history that I eventually lost interest because the information has no real connection to the actual case. If they only provided the related information, it would make the podcast much more enjoyable.
I am a fan of true crime and storytelling; this podcast has it all. There is one thing I hate, though, not being able to listen to all of the episodes unless I’m will to subscribe to a whole separate app. The greatest thing about podcasts is education and entertainment for free. I’m disappointed you chose to go this direction for all your shows.
You will either love or hate the reenactments in this podcast. It feels like they’re trying to recreate old-timey radio. Stories are interesting, but for me, the acting and back and forth narration feels goofy. I can only listen once in a while when I’ve run out of better pods
this is one of my favorite podcasts!! I started out late so I binged the podcast until I caught up! I look forward to a new episode each week!
I have enjoyed listening to your podcast for a couple of years now. I like the energy and contrast between the two of you. Just one small criticism baking my noodle, at the moment. Why base half of a two part show on someone else who has nothing to do with the murders discussed? For example, why bother wasting 30-45 minutes on a crazy woman who has nothing to do with it? There was absolutely no need to bring up Laurie Dan (repeatedly calling her Dan got confusing since her name is Laurie when the discussion was about her and her husband) and her crimes knowing she was completely cleared of the Tylenol killings by police very quickly. This diversion caused one story to be told in two parts over too long a period of time with zero satisfaction at the end because you never gave us any good suspects, just talked about who didn’t do it, I was disappointed and felt like I wasted 2 hours for nothing. I realize that all of your shows are not like that but please file this away in your brain’s filing system for future projects, when looking at a case. The listener likes to at least be pointed toward a logical direction for suspects and conclusions, otherwise it’s not much more than the first reporting of a child gone missing. With no answers at all comes disappointment and regret. I hope this makes sense from a listeners perspective. Thank you for being one of my go-to favorite true crime podcasts. Always a fan (even when critical).
It seems some folks expect academy award performances from a podcast. Get real! Interesting cases well done and well researched. Parcast podcasts, this one included, are all worth a listen. Enjoy this podcast and the interesting way it presents cases. I do.
Cool idea but weak execution.
Although some cheesy aspects the unsolved murder are all very interesting, they always seem to connect to some story or person who is famous which is a fun twist I like. It would be interesting if there were some more recent murders.
STOP the cheesy, distracting re-enactments!!!! At the very least, if the podcast’s subjects don’t have US accents, use actors with the right accent. Listening to a podcast about a British mystery and suffering through re-enactments that are stilted, inane and without proper accents hurts my ears! This last podcast was beyond awful, a murder mystery from the early 1800’s eluded to the victim not showering recently. Uh, there wasn’t indoor plumbing I’m sure at that time, people bathed. Good grief!!!!!
I love love listening to this podcast. Keep up the good work. You are both wonderful.
I love this podcast! The voice actors make easier to imagine what happened. I will continue to listen!
The dramatization is distracting and not in a good way. Not a good true crime podcast for me.
I love this podcast. The banter is corny, but I like it. 😁
Corny music and acting.
I personally love the old-timey style of this podcast! Got me addicted to all of Parcast’s shows!
I’ve listened to this podcast ever since it came out. And all the episodes have been great, very intriguing and hook you on right away. Every Tuesday I’m excited to hear the new episode that are being released. The voice actors are amazing and do an incredible job. This is my number one favorite podcast. I wish they would release new episodes twice a week. But other than that I love it !
This is not good. I was crawling with boredom...
The narrators have the BEST story telling voices and I always get so excited when a new podcast comes out to keep me on the edge of my seat!!!
I love this podcast! The back-and-forth between the hosts actually keeps it very interesting and keeps my interest throughout. I especially like at the end they are comfortable speculating about what might have happened - I like that they are confident that they can suggest what they think may have happened in a particular unsolved crime.
Prefer to hear about the story, not their conversation with each other and side conversations about the story.
I couldn’t even get past the first minute of this.
PLEASE don’t say MERCH, call it what it is, merchsndise !!!!
I really enjoy listening to this podcast, even though I agree with some reviews that there is a certain degree of cheese, maybe that's what I like about it. It reminds of old Radio Plays without trying too hard to recreate them. They are reminiscent but retain their own voice.
I listen to this on a regular basis and enjoy. The Tylenol murders really hit home with me, as I was an ER nurse in Elk Grove Village, IL at the time. One of the victims came to my ER. The terror in the community was palpable.
That is all folks.
I absolutely love Unsolved Murders! Wendy and Cameron have a great rapport together. Also, they do a great job telling the stories and make great use of the fantastic voice cast to recreate important details of the murder. It all flows nicely together! Can’t wait until next Tuesday!
I love this podcast! I love how the characters voices get you into to story. It gives me a very detailed look into the story.
i listen to podcasts because i work 3rd shift and it helps pass the time. this was the first one i really got into and now i listen to a lot of other parcast podcasts. this one is definitely my favorite tho :)
Super cheesy voice acting. I like format of the other parcast podcasts, but this one is a little hard to listen too...but the subject matter is interesting.
I always love a good mystery, even if there’s murder involved. Each unsolved case has its own unique story. The hosts as well as the voice actors help bring those stories to life, which I love.
They sold out to Stitcher. After six months you need to go download it from there. Stitcher is easily the worst podcast player/app, it’s unusable. I’m far behind and like to start from the beginning of each podcast, but can’t do that now with the Parcast podcasts. I would give this five stars for the production itself. I really like how campy it is and you get the feeling of an old radio show being put on.
Not a fan of the skits. Rather have real audio or case facts
Awhile ago when I first subscribed it was a decent podcast with a different approach with the reenactments. Now they advertise products and other podcast more then they talk about the subject at hand. You’ve turned into a commercial.
I have binge listened to all of these episodes and I want more! I love how they are told and they keep me guessing every minute! Really helps my work day go by fast.
Makes me smile while listening to murder
I don’t mind the narrators of the podcast, the cases they are covering are great, but the re-enactments are distracting and cheesy and detract from the story. It makes it difficult to get thru.
I love it, it’s perfect.
Informational and i really love the production! Easy voices to listen to!
The host takes serious, interesting topics and mixes them with cheesy music and poorly performed dramatizations that are supposed to represent parts of the factual story. The dramatizations are just too hard to listen to. I wish the host would stick to the facts and tell the story.
I seriously love this podcast. I’ve been looking for something good to listen to lately and I finally found it in this podcast. The two narrators along with the voiced scenes keeps things very interesting. It’s saddening and heartbreaking just like any unsolved murder case podcast should be.
Story content is quality but wow, is the voice acting bad & hokey. The obviously scripted “banter” between the hosts is especially bad.
When they made their decision to delete everything older than 6 months on iTunes to use a completely different app you have to pay for on top of copious ads that were recorded once and just replayed? Nope. It’s bad and you shouldn’t bother.
I love this neat and intriguing way to approach such heavy material. I like the back and forth and find each host interesting. Some true crime can be tedious to tread through but this creative and intriguing format made listening fun. I like the light hearted fun voice of Wenndy Mackenzie. She is also great in Forever ago and my kids love it!!!
Unsolved mysteries is my favorite show. Really love listening to your podcast, so entertaining.
I started listening to podcasts while traveling and stumbled upon yours while searching “true crime”. I listened to the West Point story first and absolutely loved it. I’ve been catching up on past episodes and they do not disappoint. The Blond Dolly and the Iron Masks were very entertaining! Great way to pass the time on those long road trips!
I really enjoy listening to this! I work over nights and it’s creepy, but in a ok way. I like the way they tell the stories. Very enjoyable for such sad stories.
I wanted to hear about the murder and how they caught this guy but couldn’t get through the two ladies asking questions back and forth. Listened way longer that I should have.
The re-enactments are awful and totally unnecessary. The topics are interesting but between the re-enactments and the hosts the podcast is unbearable.
It cheapens the gravity of the story and is distracting.
I love the scripted nature of the show. Although, some of the voice actors are TOO melodramatic. And sometimes cases are dragged out into two episodes when it could easily be covered in one episode. (Lead Masks case, anyone?) But, overall, I like it a lot. I especially like the host Carter. He does a great job narrating without being too dramatic.
I am absolutely addicted to this podcast!! Both of the hosts have really satisfying voices if that makes sense. I cannot stop listening to these, so creepy but interesting!
Overall, I’m very pleased with this podcast
I initially didn’t like the cheesy voice actors but now I think they help take away from some of the creepiness that comes with listening to horrific true crimes. I also appreciate the historic tidbits that the hosts bring in.
The topics are fine, and the hosts are easy to listen to. However, the “re-enactments” are terrible and unnecessary. The worst part for me is the incredibly lazy and uncaring pronunciation of names that aren’t “American”. Erik Jan Hanussen, Wasilewski, etc. were ignorantly pronounced repeatedly and that is completely unacceptable. It doesn’t take more than a few minutes to learn how to pronounce these names, even if you are actually clueless enough to not know already. Very disappointing.
They make it so much interesting by acting it out. Like a little movie in my head! And I’m picky on my true crime podcasts :-)
This was a treat! I’m a fan of Lore. Add that to a casual interest in the history of the Salem Witch Trials, and I was excited to take a listen. And I’m glad I did, because this was a fascinating listen. For me it was the interviews that added that little bit extra to push this series into something special. The interviewees are some of the top historians on not only the Trials, but also Colonial New England as a whole. It was a really cool experience to hear them building out the factual foundation to Manke’s moving interpretation of events. Long story short: This was a wonderful series, and I look forward to the next season!
I love this podcast. They do extensive research and relay the facts telling a story and following up with further explanations throughout, when necessary. They cover cases that others dont and stay true to their own presentation style. Their old vintage-radio re-enactments and music actually help set the stage in your mind for the (true) story they’re about to tell. To each his own but i like it!!
Each episode always captures my attention, I like the production value with the added scenes with the actors. I have tried to listen to some of the other Podcasts where the host just talks about the murder and it gets very boring. These do not get boring for me. I listen to many crime podcasts and they seem to cover the same cases, but here I get to hear about cases not many people have heard of.
I got bored one day and after powering through most of my podcasts i came across this little gem. Yes the music is corny but i think thats what makes it special. The stories arent just read to you like in a book. The stories pull you in with the voice actors who play the parts to give you a greater sense of the stories. One of the best parts are at the end of the story when the hosts give their take on who did the crimes and kind of break down the other host's choice of the suspect(s). Give this podcast a listen and enjoy.
I usually love parcast, but I listened to the myrtles episode, and the facts were not correct. I live about an hour away from st francville, and have visited the plantation more then a couple of times, even spend the night, the winter Williams room no less. For the record, the Judge had a son and daughter, not two girls. Chole did not mean to kill the children, she loved them like her own. She wanted to make them sick enough to nurse them back to health and prove herself to be brought back into the house after the judge sentenced her to the fields for eavesdropping. At the beginning, it makes it seem like there are demons ghost, which there are no evil spirits in the house, The most active being chole and the children(they like to play in the dinning room) I know they are trying to play up for a more interesting story, but I’m sure you could have done that while continuing to get the story straight. If you want the real story, make a trip to the plantation, it will be well worth it to discovery the history and beauty of this house. But be carful as chole likes to take earrings and the children like to tug on skirts and untie shoe laces 😁
I cannot get enough of this show! Wendy and Carter are awesome and I’ve been binge listening to episodes every single day. I’m almost completely caught up and need episodes to come out faster! My only con is that there is a LOT of advertising of other Parcast shows, but you can fast forward through them. Thank you and keep doing great work!!
Very junior league narration and dialouge
Wendy takes so much quality away from this podcast. Her line reading is terrible, her tone of voice is not one for any kind of broadcasting, and the way she performs for the commercials is ridiculous. Please get another voice actor to take her place. I like the stories and even like the goofy re-enactments; Carter is fine too. Wendy’s voice and performance just takes me out of all of it. And when she says, “If we live ‘til next time,” UGH!
Agree with others... too dramatic. No need to be this way. And please answer this question. In the investigation for Cox’s disappearance, why was the New York PD called in? The way this department is described, it’s the city of NY. Why would a city quite a few miles away from WP be in charge? Why not the State Police? Or military police? If I am incorrect in this assumption and it is indeed one of the units I just referred to, I strongly advise you make the correction to the public listening. Thanks!!!
Saw some other posters review. I really wanted to like it but couldn’t get into the back and forth commentary. Pick a storyteller and stick with it!!! Jesus I forgot about this podcast and stumbled back on to it by accident and was immediately annoyed
Over dramatic story telling !!! Much more compelling in a documentary style
I love the story telling, the set up of the facts to make the story as intriguing as possible. One of my favorite shows!
Great stories and narration
I had to shut this off within two minutes of listening. The corny music and dialogue, not to mention essentially making a joke out of a murder victim was just too much. I love true crime and can assure you there are much better options there.
I’ve got a lot of TC podcasts that are the same format. This one is unique and fairly well produced.
I enjoy the acting and the hosts. Great show!
The true crime stories are interesting but the dialogue is kind of awful. They seem to only have a handful of voice actors to use for a ton of roles that don’t fit the voices. It ends up coming off cheesy and badly casted.
I love this show and totally disagree with the person who said it was hard to listen to. I’ve been a fan for years. I’m only frustrated when another show is substituted for Unsolved. More please!!!
This is so cringeworthy. The acting is so horrible. The cheesy banter is super uncomfortable. And these hosts sound like they’re constantly out of breath... Every 3-4 words, you can hear them take a deep breath, especially the man.
Guys, you got to stop with these reenactments. It makes it almost impossible to listen to. The show would be so much better without them, thanks
it was very hard to follow along with the characters and tell them apart from each other because they used like the same three actors and the characters voices are very similar. but overall the cases were very interesting most of the time
Love the re-enactments!
It really gets me into the story...
It sounds as if the commentators / actors have had WAY TOO MUCH coffee, speaking so fast that it distracts from the poorly written scripts😆
Wendy and Carter are amazing story tellers. I love this podcast and the radio drama format. 5 stars!
Advertisement wise. There’s already a fantastic podcast that has dug deep into the Golden State Killer aka The East Area Rapist. Why try to out do a podcast when Criminology was in real time when the suspect was finally caught? Makes no sense. But guess you’re going with the sensation...
She’s probably a very nice person but Wendy MacKenzie’s voice grates on me. The stories are interesting but I cringe every I hear Wendy speak. 😖
The co-hosts chatter is annoying. Wendy’s closing tagline of, “If we’re still alive”, is an eye roller.
The stories are fascinating, but I’ll admit the female host’s voice is distracting. Her high, scratchy voice paired with the goofy re-enactments make this a somewhat corny show to listen to. I do though..... because I enjoy hearing the stories. But it’s not my favorite. I think Carter should just narrate this show on his own.
Wendy is bae and wonderful let me tell you these two are how I always start my week right! Lots of information and gets you thinking!
I try to leave this podcast but I still listen! I like the cases and the back and forth narration doesn’t bother me, even if it’s a bit fake. But the voice actors are simply awful! I feel like I’m listening to a middle school play. They either try to put on ridiculous accents or no accent at all and it sounds like someone from the 1920’s is a sophomore in high school. I really hate the actors; they’re so bad it’s hilarious and it makes me laugh so I can never just delete this podcast!
Takes on a entertaining “old fashioned” radio show format to tell interesting true crime stories.
The info is good but the computerized voices sound strange.
As a law enforcement officer and a history buff, this is the best of both worlds. I typically listen to the podcasts as I am traveling on long flights or driving to and from work and it really make time go quickly. The dialogue between the host and the way they play off of each other is fantastic! They really delve into the specifics of the cases and give such great information on the list of suspects. Keep up the great work.
I disagree with the critic. I love this podcast. Keep up the good work.
The acting and/or dialogue from those playing the victim(s) or suspect(s) is super cheesy. I like the stories and the information they convey. I didn’t think I’d like it in the beginning because of the changing voices, but the podcast grew on me.
I’m sure the stories are great but I couldn’t get past the mispronunciation of Hitlers Psychic - it’s not Jan w a J but Jan w a Y
I absolutely love this podcast. I think it is fun and entertaining. However I can completely understand why this might not be for everyone.
Yeah... I couldn’t make it more than 15 minutes through the first episode. The script is just terrible...
I’m a fan of a true crime story well-told, and this podcast is one of my favorites. I can listen to and enjoy podcasts that recount the most gruesome of crimes, and I do. But all the time? No. And why would I, when this podcast is so charming and refreshing in its story telling.
The “talented” voice cast is just all cringe for me. Not to mention the fact that they are assuming dialogue that no one knows ACTUALLY occurred. The hosts banter is also cringe-y....I don’t know why I still try to listen.... I just get mad. Cheese factor 💯
These hosts are my favorite and I like the catchy theme song and sound effects. I really enjoy how Carter and Wendy take turns narrating. The cases they cover are interesting and not over covered in the past. Kudos! XOXOX
I can’t stop listening to this show! It’s keeps me excited to listen to new episodes!
Why? Why are you doing these spoof-like re-enactments? Completely ruined the series. Please stop.
The information in this podcast is super interesting but the voice cast isn’t very good. They dramatizations are really campy and make it less creepy. It also doesn’t help that the same actors play multiple characters and do little to nothing to change their voices for different characters.
I was looking through podcasts to listen to stuff like this and I really like this podcast because yes they tell you stories but they also act some scenes out. It makes the story even more interesting because I feel that if they just told the story I wouldnt pay so much attention. The stories are very interesting too.
I haven’t missed an episode. Great actors. Great storytelling. Don’t miss it.
They find a lot of interesting cases I have never heard of before. Well worth a listen. I could do with out the voice reenactments but they take up such a small part of it that it doesn’t really matter.
I don’t like the cheesy dramatization but the information given is thorough. Everything makes sense! The voices of the hosts are soothing . I love all parcasts podcasts
The voice acting is so over the top. This concept is great with poor execution.
i’m actually obsessed... currently listening in the middle of class 😂😫
This podcast group has become part of my daily commute and bedtime stories. I love the hosts of all of the shows! Especially Greg! He has an awesome voice
Coming from a criminal Investigations background this podcast is not so bad. Sometimes its hard to keep up with flashbacks or addtl info that is barely related to the case itself, but overall I enjoy it. Should try doing some recent cases.
I just love the straight into it approach and I like the dramatizations.
I was unsure at first with the set up of the show and the “acting” but I’ve fallen in love! I listen to it at work to pass the time! Worth the listen!!
I enjoy listening so much to this podcast it’s great to have a podcast that actually tells a story thru actor voices it keeps me engaged unlike these other podcast that are sometimes so boring just reading facts. Keep up the great work
Very enjoyable podcast. How dare anyone rate less than 5 stars ever!
I can't with the cheesy, low-quality community theatre re-enactments. I wanted to like it, but it's too painful.
I am new to podcasts and happened upon your channel yesterday and I subscribed before I had a chance to listen. Today, at work I listened to 3 episodes and am hooked!!! I love the re-enactments, it helps the stories come to life for me. Carter and Wendy are awesome and I am interested in listening to Carter’s “Hostage” as well. Thank you for sharing these stories and for doing it so well!
If you use podcasts to drown out work drama this one is the best— you still get the story and the actors kinda break it up so you don’t have to focus on it so hard and can still work without being distracted. Quite nice, yes.
These stories are very well told and the production is great!
If you like actors, music, and dramatically, over-produced shows than you will like this podcast. I’m not so I just can’t give this one anymore time.
Most of the stories are compelling and leave you feeling for the victim and family. The exception being the 2 episodes on Hay. I couldn’t care less who killed him or that other suspects also diedZ everyone in that story was an awful, racist, facist. Glad they are all dead. Glad they all died early. And I actually feel good that the killer was never caught, because whomever it was did everyone a favor. Stick to relatable and likable victims/ crimes. And you’ll be good.
I love this show. Instead of the old boob tube going while I knit I now have something better to entertain me than a bunch of reruns.
I have enjoyed this five star podcast since it began. It is polished and professional and the best true crime podcast out there! Thanks Parcast!
I would give it 5 star if it wasn’t for Wendy. I don’t enjoy listening to her. Wish they would replace her. Carter is good though.
Good sound quality. Had more hopes for this Podcast.... didn’t catch my attention.. reads like a bad novel.
It’s always interesting to see how each true crime podcast will tell a story differently. It’s entertaining, I enjoy it for the most part. But for some reason all the voice actors feel the need to overact and constantly speak in an old-timey 1920s mid-Atlantic accent. It’s weird.
I'm a huge true crime and unsolved murder history buff, and this podcast has joined my list of great finds on the topics!
ok, but the actors and acted dialogue gives this podcast a “hokey “ feel...
Really like the stories, the back and forth line-switching is alright. What irritates me is the voiceover acting. It’s the same actors. I get that they’re trying to make it relatable, it doesn’t make sense that these clearly North American voice actors are playing people from Beijing, England, Australia, etc. Also they’re not very good so it pulls me right out of the story every time.
Can’t even get through the first episode . The format is cheesy . Not what i want when i listen to murder podcast. Unsubscribing
I am very interested in the premise of this but the male host’s voice is putting me to sleep. The stories should be very interesting but the delivery is so poor. For me, it’s the tone of his voice and the volume of his voice like he doesn’t want to do this. Maybe he’s better off behind the mics?! Can you get Greg to do this?
Episodes older than 6 months will only be available on stitcher Premium. That's not cool. Stop telling me to get a free trial. Terrible business plan and it's a great way to ensure your company won't grow since new listeners won't be able to listen to older episodes unless they have the almost completely useless stitcher Premium
This is one of my favorite crime podcasts! I like the way they use voice actors who act the story out, instead of just reading about the details of a crime.
Good content, but Parcast is a bad production company. They beg for reviews without wanting you to actually critique them. They either one no review or 5 star. Not sure how they are going to improve without getting the right amount of stars. Want the stars to get better sponsors. Their content is ok, but nothing yoy couldn’t look up online and save yourself 40 minutes.
Good episodes, just wish they were a little longer.
The voice of the woman hosting of this podcast (the male voice was good) was so hard to listen to I couldn’t finish the first podcast I listened to. She sounds like she needs to clear her throat or is very old. Couldn’t give this a chance due to that voice of hers!!
Love this podcast and I eat up EVERY episode! Great info and voice actors and dramatizations. Can’t get enough!
I wish there would be more than 1 a week. Wendy and Carter make it all the more enjoyable .
First, I'd like to say how silly it is to see reviews complaining about the hosts going over unsolved cases (Hello, the podcast is CALLED Unsolved Murders...what did you expect?). Or that there's speculation.....in an unsolved case, speculation is pretty unavoidable, unless you only want to hear about 3 minute episodes. If there isn't enough evidence to convict a killer, why would there be enough evidence for podcast hosts to tell you who the killer is for certain (especially since it's not uncommon for some details to be withheld from the public). If you want to hear about cases where everything is already known, and there's audio from the actual killer....go listen to one about solved cases. Duh. Now, onto the actual podcast. As always, the Parcast crew does a great job. They tell you whatever is known for certain, they provide research based opinions, and they have hosts from the other shows guest starring as voice actors (it helps to remind listeners that the folks in the stories were actual people, doing actual things...it's not just pieces of folklore). Dramatizations are just that....actors portraying what they think the people would have been thinking/feeling in a certain situation.
The title is unsolved murders right? So why do they tell the entire life story of each person? Spend time on the crime, the investigation and the aftermath. I dont need to know where they were born or who their high school sweetheart was. A different female host didnt help this podcast any.
I really enjoy and love listening to the podcast. I love how they tell the stories. I’m always excited about the next episode. Very well researched and told. And I love the no commercials. Please keep it never!! Hands down one of my favorites!!!
Suddenly most of your episodes don’t show up anymore. I was just about to start the Lizzie Borden episodes then they all just disappeared. All the episodes before March of 2018 just disappeared from my feed and now I can’t listen to them
I was sad to see that they archived most of their older episodes. I was in the middle of one and many I was looking forward to listening to.
Just started listening to you guys and absolutely love the par cast podcasts. But became irritated when I was listening and your first episodes just disappeared. One moment it’s playing in my truck next moment it’s silent I went to check the issue and the episode I was listening to no longer existed. Along with several I had listened to before it and about a years worth I still hadn’t after it.
I was in the middle of listening to your old podcasts and the next thing I know they are all gone from the Apple podcast app! Super mad seeing how I was in the middle of an episode!
I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews until you see that most are first impressions and haven’t heard more than one episode. This podcast has only gotten better after each episode, from sound quality to acting it improves from story to story. I listen to it everyday at work and soon I will be fully caught up and will probably start over again.
I was running out of audiobooks and music to listen to at work without having to hear the same story on repeat and finally decided to try a few podcasts to keep me from falling asleep at my desk. I really enjoy the setup of this podcast and the stories they present, though some of them I have had to put back because the content is just a little too much for me in some cases, but the hosts do mention frequently that some material may be disturbing or offensive so it's not like you're not warned beforehand. Overall, I really enjoy the podcasts, and having voice actors for some of the dramatized pieces makes it much more fun to listen to than if it were just the hosts reading the facts of the cases from beginning to end.
Great stories, Great listening
Very well told stories. Reinactments are just enough to bring the listener to the scene of the crime. Keep up the fabulous work!
I have a job where I am allowed to wear earbuds while I work. Listening to music everyday got boring so I enjoy listening to these stories and learning about stuff I never knew about.
So interesting and you learn so much! Can’t wait for each week
I have enjoyed this Podcast over the past 2 years. The stories are interesting and the voice actors pull you in with their skits. I would recommend it to anyone that likes unsolved murders.
Love listening to these mystery stories. I especially like how they reenact the scenes. Makes the work day go by faster.
But, I lose all respect for a podcasts who asks for a five star review. Earn your five star reviews. Don’t beg. Pathetic.
Love this one- very different and a refreshing change.Usually unsolved cases make me crazy but not here. Very interesting stories I’d never heard of.
I’m not a fan of humor with murder stories. I feel this podcast gives the victims the dignity they deserve. Wendy and Carter do a wonderful job as do the rest of the cast making it seem like an old radio show.

These guys know how to tell a story and keep you interested!! I’ve been struggling to find a good murder podcast and I am SO happy I fell upon this one. So glad I have so many episodes available to choose from
I love the sound effects the way narrators tell the story to make it come together. I do wish that there was some way i could see their sources so can look into certain stories after the episode finish though
I’m 11 and I love this! It’s not even scary! I love the Axeman!
There are some good aspects to the two voice narration but it spends too much time on the dramatization. Like the foot steps. I would really like to hear more of the story details and less of the of the theatrics. Thx
I love this podcast, and I have listened to most of the episodes. Yes, like many other people have mentioned in their reviews, the acting/portrayals of the first episode threw me off, and I did think it was a bit cheesy. However, I kept listening, because I found these crime stories to be very interesting. Once I got used to the portrayal voice clips (which I realized were only a few seconds long in most episodes), I fell in love with the podcast. The voice portrayals ended up adding to the podcast, since I could visualize the crime stories in my head even more than before. I also love that they conclude the episode with debating who was guilty, since it ties up the story. Along with the, the episodes are sufficiently long & usually have 2 parts, which allows them to include more details about the cases. Great job to the host & hostess!
The topics they cover are interesting and have a lot of good information. The problem lies with the voice acting which takes you out of the moment completely. The banter between hosts seems scripted which is weird. I’ll keep listening because I like the topics, but it’s jarring.
I’m so confused?? I was listening to their unsolved murders podcast and I go back on here a few hours later to listen to it again and it keeps being me back here to serial killers. Is unsolved murders deleted on here or something ?
You gotta get different women. The girl you use has such a distinct voice and she seems to be every female character. She also has a very young voice so... it takes me out of the story in multiple ways.
“She’s not an expert, but she’s done some research.” Get an expert, or just carry on with you opinion.
I’m very fond of this podcast! I barely found it a week or two ago and I’ve just had to listen to at least one episode every day. They’ve done a great job at picking cases that aren’t widely talked about already. And while the voice acting is slightly cheesy at times, it still brings a lot to each episode. Highly recommend!
It is my favorite podcast. If you like mystery and good quality podcasts...well this is perfect.
Just started listening yesterday, so far so good. I enjoy these podcasts I mainly listen to the 2 part episodes.
Once I listened to my first episode last November, I’ve been addicted ever since. I’ve listened to every episode, and subscribed so I wouldn’t miss any. I really like the combination of hosts describing and actors playing out the story. In fact, I look for other podcasts with a similar format (and have found a couple, but not as many as I’d like). I really like how they cover cases from all over the world and so many different time periods in history. I’m a fan for life!
I love the podcast so much the only reason I gave it 4 stars is I wish they solved some. That is the only bad thing( not including the murders).🔪🤐
This is a great podcast (one of my favorites), with creative storytelling and real time whodunnit analysis. I looked forward each week to the new episodes!
Don’t like the narration, re-enactments, the actors, nor the sound effects . The female narrator’s voice is not pleasing to my ears... sorry.. I did give it a try. Just not my style.
The only reason why I listen to this podcast is because of the stories. The voice re-enactments are terrible and they use the same two guys and female every time. They are extremely lame. If I had a dog it could do a better job. The two people that tell the story are also not very good, very cheesy, and what podcast advertises women’s pads???
It’s basically Unsolved Mysteries and Law and Order rolled into a podcast. The stories are very interesting and I love the theories from the hosts on who did it. The reenactments are great and has just the right amount of drama. I’m an avid listener from here on out!
I am a hugeeee true crime podcast junkie and am always on the look for new podcasts. I decided to just give this one a try and absolutely fell in love! I got hooked right after ep. 1! Narration is good, love both hosts & the voice actors just take this podcast over the top. I appreciate the addition of music & voice actors to really set the tone/era and gives the story a more realist feel. Would 100% recommend you try this podcast!!
More of a comedy
Super interesting cases, but I can’t do the over acted, old timey radio show “acting”. Guess it’s not for me. I enjoy hearing a story told to me. If I wanted all that, I’d watch a movie or read a book.
Love the subject matter and it is generally well researched and well presented. However, the voice re-enactments are cringeworthy at best. One of the female voice actors has a little baby voice - I sincerely hope this is not her real speaking voice. Imagine Betty Boop as an attorney, forensic expert, etc. ugh. Fast forward is necessary!
The hosts don’t “investigate” so much as speculate. The re-enactments don’t seem to be based on much, and both that and the commentary can be completely tasteless. The tone is often weirdly at odds with the subject matter. Titillating to some, I guess. I just prefer either straightforward horror podcasts or true crime podcasts that actually attempt to investigate.
Can’t stop listening. I am completely addicted.
I love listening to this podcast on my commute to and from work!
I really enjoy this podcast, it’s a good thing to listen to while working. The mystery is thrilling. The addition of voice acting in very interesting for the voices of the people mentioned. It will scare you if you’re alone and listening to it on a speaker!
For a podcast that is about murder and other horrors, it’s incredibly light-hearted. Maybe that’s something people want when in conjunction with this genre but it doesn’t do it for me. The “re-enactments” are awful and totally cliche, the banter of the podcasters is jovial and joking like they’re making fun and for me, it made it really difficult to actually hear the story. Just not my cup of tea.
I'm totally addicted. Love the show.
As a huge podcast listener, I was very disappointed with this series. I love all true crime series but after listening to 2/3 episodes they lost me completely. The back-and-forth between the hose is absurd and laughable. As they talk they jump back-and-forth every 2/3 words. so the narration is hard to follow, let alone listen.. I don’t want to knock on the acting but maybe if they just told the story, as opposed to the bad acting, it just might be listenable.. I had my hopes high and was excited to listen. Now I can’t get back the hour and a half, that I lost..
Guys. I’ve been waiting. Wondering. Checking every day. And you skipped it! We need the other half
The acting parts are super cheesy. But I love this podcast. I wish they would do more recent mysteries, like in the 2000’s. But I listen to this podcast every day at work.
This podcast always keeps me on my toes! I look forward to every Tuesday just for the new episodes! Absolutely my favorite podcast!
This show would be a lot better if they didn’t have the hosts play the roles of the people involved in these true crime stories in some sort of radio drama. It really takes away from what could be a good show and, I think, shows a lack of class. These are real-life horror stories being play acted.
I love the level of research and homework done for each episode Very professional but also keeps me involved and interested Love these guys’ ability to kick podcasting into the legitimate investigative reporting!!!
The hosts- especially the woman is awful. I tried to listen to several podcasts by these 2 and I couldn’t stand it. The inflection of their voices- especially hers is awful! Do they even listen to themselves afterwards? It’s like listening to someone that’s trying g to act and just reads instead. Every sentence ends with an emphasized word. This podcast will be deleted from my library!
The stories and the details into the background are interesting but the hammy acting is so distracting and laughable it’s was hard to take anything seriously. You can tell they are just reading off a paper in front of them and I felt like I couldn’t really concentrate on anything else.
I've binged every episode over the last month and a half and enjoyed them all. The style took getting used to but I like that they have it scripted and add in points that pull from a radio drama. Because of this podcast, I'm now listening to just about every podcast from the parcast network!! All of them are great and having them all scripted the way they are makes it easy to listen to if you don't care for a lot of the back and forth banter that you get from other podcasts.
I’m a big murder mystery fan, and this podcast is a fun and informative way of exploring each crime. The first few episodes were initially hard to latch on to, as I had to get used to the flamboyant styles of voice acting. Carter and Wendy keep the format both serious and quirky. The voice actors keep me engaged, and, honestly, I just really can’t get enough of this podcast. I wish they would also go on tour! Unsolved Murders has grown a lot since its humble beginnings, and it always has me looking forward to each Tuesday of the week.
This podcast is so well done! The way they tell the stories about the past crimes is SO interesting and captivating! Definitely recommend!!
I’m always at the edge of my seat waiting for a new episode. I love listening to these right before I go to bed because of no distraction.
Narration between the male and female hosts breaks the monotony of a single voice. The voice dramatizations are at times overdone and the female voices sound too alike, but overall moves the story along. I do like that, at the end, they do try to make an educated guess at solving the murder.
A lot of the Parcast podcasts are overproduced. Their 2 host format and actors doing re-enactments is overbearing. The voice acting is horrible and the banter between the hosts is insufferably cornball and too out of touch with the subject matter. Unsolved cases are sad but this podcast is sadder.
Listen every week.
Love this podcast, but seems we could fine out if family won that money and also if the (uncle killed them). Feel like it’s just left there! Oh well
I’m extremely disappointed with Parcast as a whole and I’ve been a listener since they first started. As a person of color, it’s absolutely disgusting that with all of their shows, the money they pull in, etc., they refuse to hire people of color/ethnic persons to do voice acting. I KNOW it’s not that hard to employ voice actors of that are non-white. This isn’t anything against the cast; the stories are great, etc., but shame on the Cutler’s for their obviously deliberate actions. I’m surprised they even employ women!
I love this podcast and look forward to it every week! It’s an entertaining combination of facts and theatre. When I die, my heaven will be finding out who committed all these murders!
I really feel like I’m in the moment and find myself trying to decide who the killer was.
I love the banter between the hosts. The cases and the actor re-enactments really come to life and fill the story in.
I found this podcast when we started a ten hour road trip. Each episode left us on the edge of our seat. The interesting fact that these were true unsolved murders in the world! Thank you for putting together awesome work!
I love these two! The banter can be a bit wonky, but I love this show!
Very professional and I love the drama!
I truly enjoy the format especially the radio drama. As a School Library Media Specialist I find the level of research satisfying and enjoy the 2 part episodes. Keep up the good work!!
I like it, the actors can be a little funny but I get the overall idea
I love this podcast series for its straightforward reporting style on murder stories. They usually insert they’re opinion about the murders towards the end of each podcast and it’s a good flow. The voice actors also add a good bit of a more dramatic sense to the podcast. I did wish they had a more abundant cast of voice actors because they have the same voice actors in every other podcast and it can get pretty boring hearing the same voice play different roles back to back. Overall though, a joy to listen to and I’d definitely recommend.
A wonderful podcast full of terrifying and haunting mysteries. I love following along and attempting to figure out who murdered the victim/victims!
Normally , I listen to music on my commute to work or school, but took a humanities class recently and was told to try and replace music with a podcast. I figured if I’m gonna try listening to a podcast to have it be an unsolved kind of series like buzzfeed unsolved (on YouTube) is. I listened to episode 099 with a girl named crista a.k.a sandy, and was very drawn in. If I can ditch a day of listening to music , and just listen and ACTUALLY focus on the podcast , this deserves 5 stars <3.
This is a high quality podcast, I just don’t like the style that it is done in. My major dislike is the reenactments. They are sometimes cheesy, and take away from telling a good story. I would prefer a format with people just telling the story in an entertaining way.
The episodes are like HGTV where they repeat everything after each commercial and is painstakingly slow
Carter and Wendy are the best hosts They are great together.
Amazing sound effects, you’ll find yourself captured in the story. Amazing details to the story and fabulous voice effects.
The goofy, campy writing and voice acting in the “re-enactment” scenes makes it impossible to take even the most gruesome crimes seriously. The high production value in contrast with the poor presentation is very jarring. I tried, I really tried to enjoy listening, but for me to give this another chance, they would need to completely replace their writers and give their actors better direction. The hosts are fine, but they are pretty bland, and make up so little of the actual runtime they can’t do anything to restore any sense of dread, realism, or tension.
I know the only way a podcast like this can make money is have ads. Yet when an ad will come in the middle of the cast I don’t know when story ends and ad starts.
I am a huge true crime fan and a lot of these cases are extremely interesting. However the male host's voice is droll to the point of almost sounding insincere and the woman's voice almost takes on an over-eager pitch that is just as hard to listen to. It's not so much the sound of the voices but the chemistry or delivery of/between the hosts. Bummer, too, because they do a great job.
I love this podcast. I have referred it to at least 20 people.
Narration is good but Too many ads it’s hard to enjoy the episode
This podcast is fantastic. Sure, the acting is a little cheesy, but that makes it fun :) always interesting and great research. The joys have great voices that I love listening to!
The facts and mystery of unsolved murders is fascinating enough, so why the z-grade acting? It's jarring, laughable and only brings the podcast down. I didn't learn anything from listening to voice actors putting on a elementary school level play.
I really like the podcast but the way they stop the story every three minutes (or so it seems) to do a commercial about women’s undergarments or whatnot is SO ANNOYING! It completely takes me out of the story they’re trying to tell. I realize that ads are part of the deal but there has to be a less annoying way to incorporate them into the show.
It almost sounds like it’s a joke. The acting of is so over the top that I had to unsubscribe.
I’m a true crime junkie-and I love these episodes. The scenes with the voice actors add an extra layer of drama and creepiness to the entire episode, and I love the hosts dark presentation. It only falls short to one, my favorite series for covering true crime, which is Buzzfeed Unsolved. All and all, this series is great and I would definitely recommend it.👍🏻
I absolutely love this podcast. Each episode is more fascinating than the last.
Just discovered y’all this morning. So now I’m bingeing. That axeman is interesting and the person doing that voice-over has scared the crap out of me. Listening now to the first Hollywood murder. Looking forward to hearing the rest.
I love all of Parcast’s content but I’m not sure if I really like this style where the scenes are acted out. I prefer the fact delivery types much more because I’m not switching in and out of being in the scene and being given some details by the narrators. I think it might be a bit distracting to have so many voices.
I have never listened to a podcast before, I stumbled upon unsolved true crime and in 6 weeks I have completed over 70 episodes. The old school format is oddly appealing. It’s been described as a throwback to serial radio stories of the 1920s and 30s. The hosts tell a story with well acted out important parts of the tale. My only complaint is I recognize the actors voices from previous stories. I’m hooked !!! Well done Carter and Wendy
I really enjoy listening to this podcast.!!!!
Binged EVERY one of their episodes! Can’t get enough!
I love this show! It’s like taking a step back in time to the 50’s radio programs and Wendy and Carter are great hosts! My absolute favorite podcast - creepy without being scary and I love how thorough they are with each case. Keep up the great work guys!
They got the guy. It was the church security guard. He killed himself as they were trying to get into apartment. So crazy cuz I just listened to this case on your podcast.
Very entertaining and informative on unsolved murders. Highly recommend
Overall, I enjoy the production and most of the voice actors. There is one voice actor with a very child-like voice, and she seems to play major characters (like Christa Helm). I find it really odd when she plays adult women because she sounds like a teenager and is overly affective. The other voice actors nail it, though. The narrators are okay.. mostly there to give ads.
Love their voices and the show! Remember it’s like old fashioned radio!
Seems well-researched, but the reenactments are truly painful to listen to.
To all the people who rate this bad! You guys are straight up tripping! I love this podcast and I always will! Story telling could either be a hit or miss, but these guys never disappointed me! Foreal foreal :) I love you guys and have not one thing bad to say! I never write reviews btw but since I seen the bad one I just had to say HELL NO! These guys deserve the credit! Keep up the great work!
Stories are great, enjoy the narrators (with exception of the closing thoughts that sound like they are reading). The re-enactments ruin this for me. Comedic how bad they are
The title says it all.
Love Carter and Wenndy! Stories are intriguing and in-depth. Setting the scene of each story in the particular era and the crime solving methods available is fascinating. My favorite podcast hands down!
Literally just got into Podcast a day ago and I searched up Crime, absolute favorite show so far. It has made my days easier at work with the intriguing stories! And I love the hosts!
Just got into podcast and I keep going back to this one! It’s my favorite. I love the hosts and voice actors!
I love the dramatizations and the flow of the story telling. Very factual and very interesting. Highly recommend.
The female narrators voice grates on my last nerve. She sounds like a jolly old lady who smokes. Her voice is such a mismatch to the guys voice. When I can tune it out it’s interesting though.
I love this podcast! I love that it includes dramatization in the story. It makes the stories come to life. The podcasters have such calming voices and I love listening to them.
The voice acting in this is pretty terrible and over the top, but I still enjoy the stories.
This is my favorite of the Parcast podcasts. Even if I’ve heard of the case, I always leave with more info than I had before. However, the voices of some of the actors are nearly intolerable. There is a female voice that borders on insufferable and not in a vocal fry sort of way. If you can get past the reenactments, this is a great podcast.
I love the stories they cover but cannot get past the stupid voices and juvenile re-enactments. Just give us the facts, cover the stories, they’re interesting enough on their own.
I love the reenactments!! The ppl complaint must have never heard radio stories back in the day.
Soooo annoying! Do you have to switch narrators literally every sentence?! I can’t even concentrate
Ok, the biggest complaint you’ll hear about the Parcast shows is “they’re too scripted”, well then you missed the point. It’s supposed to come off as an old fashioned radio drama. The work and chemistry that Wendy & Carter has is outstanding. So many unsolved cases that I’ve never heard of, and within 5 minutes of the episode...I’m captivated. I gotta know how it’s going to end (yes trolls, I know they’re all unsolved) but it’s fascinating the twists and turns they take. Love the show, and I love the cast. A+
The reenactments just have bad acting. Otherwise I would like the podcast better...they’re unnecessary, especially since the hosts just repeat what they are reenacting
I love you guys so much~! Each episode is so riveting, I can't wait for the next episode
I love this podcast!
I’ve been listening to Podcasts for a little over a year and these are my favorite. The voices, the emphasis, the dramatization of the stories are all fantastic! Keep it going, you have a faithful listener.
I like the podcast, but could do without the cheesy dramatizations. If it weren’t for those, I’d give it five stars.
Lordy, where do I begin? These are very serious, interesting cases & the hosts with their cheesy superfluous banter make these cases less serious & silly. The banter doesn’t add anything, but it takes away from the stories & the victims & suspects. I’d stop it immediately. Their weird segues from the cases to their commercials are intolerable and grotesque. Please stop it.
Thanks Carter and Wendy for being consistent , unique, and entertaining.
The “reenactments” used to weave some imagined story of the true crime being covered are amateurish and plain old silly. Makes the show sound like the radio mystery shows from the ‘40s. If you are interested in well-researched and well-presented true crime cases, this isn’t the podcast for you. If you are a fan of old time radio dramas, you might find the way these stories are presented to your liking.
My morning and evening commute goes by just like that. Who knew I could actually enjoy sitting in traffic!
Unsolved Murders is A+. Well-reasearched. The narration and dramatization is superb. Great actors. Now I know why my elderly father loved radio productions as a boy. My imagination is being fed with every line. Do more! Greatly entertaining. Where can I make a suggestion about a possible future production?
I love murder mysteries, but some podcasts go too far and are too graphic (for my taste). I love the way Wendy and Carter narrate the story, and enjoy the old radio feel. No matter how many podcasts I try, this continues to be a favorite.
I love the way this show pairs old fashioned radio drama-style voice acting with two funny and well-matched narrators. It is a totally unique true crime podcast that can make you laugh as well as cry, and the stories really stick with you. Keep up the great work!
Bad voice actors! And a lot of the narration is a bit treacly. Not crazy about the main narrators either, who are obviously reading and sound unnatural. The information about the cases is adequate but there are a lot better podcasts out there.
Some of this is awful. The black Delilah episode is literally all dialogue between voice actors that is back by no factual data. Absolutely awful. Other episodes are just factual overviews of the murders, which is compelling and worth listening too. If I hear a ton of hypothetical dialogue again I’m gonna call it a day and find something else to listen to. Get it together.
This was the first Parcast podcast that I listened to and it is still my favorite. Even when I know the stories, Parcast puts a new spin on the stories. Love it!!
These two sound like they’re reading a bedtime story. Very confusing. With the back and forth speakers, the story gets lost. The way they try to act like the actual character is nonsense. I can not listen to the show. If you just get the story out instead of turning it in to a play, I think it would be more interesting.
I was introduced to the parcast unsolved Murders; True Crime Stories by my daughter who knows how much I enjoy shows like this one. She nailed it for me I am totally hooked! Love it.
I've listened to hundreds of radio dramas in my life--some really great ones. With this one, I couldn't get through the first five minutes. I've witnessed similar acting from elementary-school children. It sounds like people reading a script without ever rehearsing anything. Don't waste your time.
Love this podcast! Also I love parcast!
Please please please label the episodes when they are going to be more than one part. A simple ‘part 1 of 2’ and ‘part 2 of 2’ would suffice. I just hate when I listen to one episode and didn’t know there is going to be more parts. I’d rather wait for all the parts to come out and listen consecutively!
Like, a really really bad middle school assignment. They host take turns reading sentences to each other and doesn’t flow well. I love crime podcasts and ended this one in less than 20 minutes. The reenactments are terrible and unnecessary. Skip this one.
This podcast is politically correct to the absurd. The silly moralizing, not that there’s anything wrong with that, over the top politically correct judgement slipped into the script is ridiculous and irritating. Voices are cloying and sound simple minded ... I’ll pass.
I just recently started listening to this podcast....overall I’m not really impressed. They are stories I have never heard of which is a plus- but the acting makes it so hard to listen to!! I’ll give it a few more tries- but there’s much better professional pod casts out there.
I can’t pinpoint exactly what it is about the hosts’ narration that is not appealing to me, but it sounds a bit lackluster with subpar cadences. A far cry from the Serial Killers podcast’s hosts.
Horrific acting during these episodes & the female co-host is as boring as watching paint. She has little to no inflection in her voice.
I love the stories & the commentary from the hosts is awesome!! Thank you for making an hour and a half commute to work (twice a day) FLY BY!!
Would you be interested in doing a podcast on solved murders?
