Best show for a car ride!
I have always tried to keep up with the Wait Wait on WBEZ every weekend now with this PODCASTS my life has been Awesome. Thank you NPR
LOL at the people disliking the show because of the “Trump Bashing”. You sound like a bunch of snowflakes. 😂😂😂
I can’t believe this show doesn’t have all five stars. Being from Chicago, this show was my Saturday ritual. Please listen with glee!
The best of npr; I learn so much that I probably wouldn't have anywhere else!
This show used to be enjoyable, but now it's become just another form of republican hating machine. The jokes are so corny and cliche. It is so formulaic that I can predict what they are going to say before they even say it. You really should spend your time on something else that is actually good.
One of the top 5 shows ever produced by NPR. I look forward to it week after week. I want to shout out the crew who manages this show. Wait Wait seriously lifts my spirits
The audio was in slow mo. Impossible to listen to
Your the best part of my day
Love love love so funny
I have listened to thousands of podcasts and out of all of them this is the funniest and the most entertaining.😃
Peter Sagal is irreplaceable. Smart, funny, witty and cutting, too. Bill is perfect. Love that voice. Paula should be a regular. And Mo Rocca and Tom Bodette are funny without being crude. Alonzo Boden is sharp and quick. How I wish they were on regularly. Many other panelists should find other work. Especially the ones who can’t construct a sentence without saying “like” ten times over. WWDTM is a work of art.
If you are a regular NPR listener, it’s hard not to shout out the answers to most of the questions. Funny, informative and very up-to-date in its presentation. We love it so much, we’ve gone to live taping of the show twice.
Simply the best. When I was depressed I would listen to it so much.
This show is a funny, light hearted show that sheds light on the weeks news stories
I love this show. News and news opinion shows can be so stressful but this show always makes me laugh. We need to laugh together a lot more asa country so everyone should probably tune in.
This show lightens my week and makes world news *almost* bearable.
Whenever I’m in the car for more than 10 minutes, I listen to this podcast. It never fails to make me chuckle.
It’s one of the only panel shows in the US and I love it. It’s a rare find in a world of crap, definitely give this a listen if you like game shows or quizzes. If you like this you should check out the bbc radio app, it has lots of British radio panel shows that are similar for free
i’ve been listening to wait wait since i was in third grade (i’m a senior now) and it’s seriously the best way to lighten the mood or just have a laugh. the jokes are funny and sometimes dank. i love wait wait.
A fantastic way to reward my constant news refreshing throughout the week
BEST.PODCAST.EVER...also screw all the haters up there..| | | V ALSO PETER SAGAL IS THE BEST
I used to love listening to this show on Saturday morning drives and just discovered it again as podcast. I couldn’t even get through 1 episode because of all the Trump-bashing.
I love Wait Wait! It’s my favorite podcast by far and listening to it really brightens my day. The podcast is well put together and I always enjoy listening to Peter’s descriptions of each story. Paula, Faith and Roxanne are fantastic, and I really enjoy all of the other panelists, too. That said, I did read through a bunch of the comments, and I understand some of the negative ones: the show is very left leaning, and many of the jokes center on Trump’s incompetence. If you’re not comfortable with that, this podcast is not for you. I actually find Wait Wait’s political humor, including the parts that make fun of Trump, really refreshing. No show makes me feel better about our current political situation than this. So many of Trump’s doings are despicable and dangerous that, if it weren’t for this show and Colbert, I would be constantly upset by them: Peter Sagal’s ability to turn the awful things the current administration does into something I can laugh about makes a big difference to my overall happiness. Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me is certainly worth your time, and I recommend it to all politically aware individuals in need of a laugh. :) Edit: I should also mention that plenty of the podcast doesn’t even mention Trump or the US government; a lot of it is just funny stories from the week’s news that have nothing to do with politics.
In an effort to try various news sources with some levity, I listened to the Danika Patrick episode. I never actually heard her because I only made it half way through the episode. The 2/3 parts I listened to were just full of Trump bashing. There was such a strong bias that I saw no purpose in continuing to listen, based on my goals of trying to find less biased news. Really a shame.
This is the best show on PBS radio. Great host great cohost and stars love Bill Curtis can’t say enough I wish they did this every day
Helen Hong isn't funny or smart and Danica Patrick is not legendary.
Such a funny show!
I am a new fan of this show. its great! I binged it in a few days!
I can’t wait for my Monday morning work out to hear this wonderful collection of strange and wacky news. What a production team to come up every week with this kind of material.
The world is going down the toilet and this show is the only thing that makes the ride a little easier.. Kudos to the entire team of Wait Wait.
I’ve been listening to Wait Wait for 15 years the guests and panelists always bring great energy and literal laugh out loud humor. Peter has a way of getting the best out of the guests even when they are a bit reserved. This show deserves your attention.
Haven’t missed an episode (aside from the rebroadcasts when they’re on vacation) in years!
I look forward to it every week! A great podcast while doing weekend errands.
I love podcasts, many of which are real downers- this podcast makes me happy. I love that even though the podcast makes fun of the news they r still kind to real people! Thanks for the smiles!
😂. That’s all I have to say. 😂.
My favorite podcast, hands down! And, I think Tom Papa should always cover for Peter. He did an OUTSTANDING job as a host!!!
Fun for the whole family. We all love this show and sit around in the kitchen on Saturdays listening to the weekly episode. Smart funny and engaging. What more could you ask for?
I have been listening to this show since the very beginning when I was a young teenage boy and I’ve never missed a episode since. I love everything about it both host the panel and the ridiculous but sadly true stories these days that you come up with to ask people about. when I started listening to the show it was with my mother on Saturday drives to go shopping and it’s something we still bond over to this day.
Love Wait, Wait! I always enjoy the mix of humor, banter, and current events, as they used to be called back in the Dark Ages when I was in school. Definitely my favorite show/podcast for years! (And my kids used to listen when they lived at home, too.)
I love listening to this. After a while it does get boring though.
NPR makes me giggle? You betcha.
Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me is the best podcast. Every one on the show is hilarious and the jokes are superior to all other jokes. Every Saturday I go outside and wait for the episode to come out and I am usually listening to it within three seconds of it being published
Hilarious! Informational and really funny stories on the bluff the listener segment. It really brightens my day .
The show is a breath of fresh air, especially for some of us in the Middle East.big thanks to Bill and Peter and the whole team.
W. We M Sg Sm.sswer Kn is ed We W a W wa a little RrSure r
Love this show, and especially when Faith, Adam, Mo and Paula are panelists. Some of the newer panelists are just not my cup of tea. I don’t find them entertaining
This is so fantastic. I love being able to laugh at the horrors of the news from the past week. I also find out about quirky little tidbits that I find delightful. I love everyone on the show. They are all so funny, but well informed. I look forward to this one every week. At least 3 or 4 times an episode, I laugh out loud. :)
New Podcast recommendation : Our National Public Radio Stations ( NPR ) hold a huge selection of news and entertainment. One show in particular brings that all together in a weekly news and humor spectacular. Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, brings together the weekly news headlines with the best comedians in the business. And the news these days not only need humor but often feed right into it. The announcer, and score keeper starts you off with humor of his own, as the tremendous voice of serious crime shows on the A&E network shows the fun side of Bill Kurtis. This comedic fun fest is hosted by funny man Peter Sagal and is joined weekly by the funniest people in the country as well as weekly special guest. This past weeks guest featured the multi-talented Henry Winkler.
Not a huge comedy podcast guy, but this show is both funny and informative at the same time. Peter Sagel's podcast on Chernobyl is also FANTASTIC (I wish they were still making those...) and way, everyone should give wait wait a chance!
It’s supposed to be a news quiz. There is news and there is quizzing. However, what it is are three tremendously funny panelists riffing off each other with Peter joining in on the fun. Each week, there are three different panelists. There are regulars who come again and again and people get favorites. Paula Poundstone incredulousness at weird studies that make the news. Brian Babylon’s take on white society. Mo Rocca’s thought process laid bare for the world to see. These people are smart, funny, and on point. I know many fans of Wait Wait Don’t Tell me who only here it in the radio and cry when they miss it one week. Knowing they can hear the shows they missed has gotten them into podcasts.
I’m a kid and really wish I could call in! This show is sooooo funny. Paula is the best!
Usually Very funny, but often sinks into pandering towards the rich white liberal audience in Chicago.
The podcast/broadcast version is very good, but if you can get to a live show, you should go. Way more interaction with the guests and panelists, and Peter Sagal shows his adept, quick wit.
I can’t wait for Helen Hong to make another one of her “white people are so lame” jokes. Or for Peter to make an uninformed joke and get an easy laugh from an NPR crowd.
This light and Funny show highlight what good chemistry between hosts and regular contestants comedians can do for you. Current and edgy, It’s on my top podcast list where ever in the world I am.
I hate this 👎🏼
So much to love about this show!!
I used to listen every Saturday but my life and schedule has changed soooo I am very thankful for the podcast!!! I listen to every episode even if I get behind. Thanks for the clever banter!!
I listen to this podcast on Sunday when I am working out at the gym. Problem is I am laughing out loud so often I fear others are concerned about me. 😜 My favorite podcast!
This is NPR perfection. This show knows it’s audience and delivers the product that brings mirth and smirks every single week. If you don’t like this show you probably eat puppies and find Pepto Bismol to be too spicy for your sensitive palate. ALL HAIL BILL!!!! Long may Peter reign as a host!!!
It’s hilarious and I listen to it as much as I can.
I love everything about NPR’s wait wait don’t tell me show my favorite part is when they have to guess what news story is true out of the three stories. And when they bring is people that have fascinating jobs. One time I listened to one of the guess the true stories and I heard these words “A worker at the church found the goat and part of the leg fake baby Jesus from a nativity scene. I’ll admit this is better than the Trevor Noah daily show podcast.
I suspect my neighbors think I’m crazy because I’ll be cracking up while walking down the street. I can’t wait for every weekend when a new one comes out.
I love this show! It’s a funny way to keep up with the news. The hosts and guests are awesome!
Wait Wait is great. It tickles my funny bone, Raises our spirits, and informs . Don’t wait for Wait Waitl Lynnby
Love this show! It’s funny and clever and better than listening to the news!
I love this show it is sooo good and funny. My dad plays it and I love it so much. It is interesting and I learn new things. It is better than the kids podcast!
This is great
These comedic group is super charged and very funny if I missed it on Sunday’s which is my lazy day it’s hard to listen so I binge listen my laugh my head off later. I could never get enough. Thank you guys you are the best.
I absolutely love this podcast! I listen to it every Saturday and I’ve seen it twice live.
Peter Sagal is on fire lately! I can’t think of another broadcasting personality with the same level of wit and professionalism. The panel members are often funny (I love Paula Poundstone), but without Peter, the proceedings would fall apart. He knows how to guide his guests and make their interviews entertaining. Instead of trying to fill Carl’s shoes, Bill takes the announcing in a different direction: he reads his lines as though he’s not thinking about what the words mean which makes for odd and humorous inflections. This is the only show I giddily tune in for every week! The highlight of my Saturday morning.
I’m Twelve years old and I think this show is hilarious! 😅😂🤣 Some of the jokes I don’t get(about one per show) but all the ones I do are super funny.
Except Faith’s annoying laugh.
Petey DeAbreu was on the Marin Aslop and I tuned in to check him out. I knew the show wouldn’t disappoint and it sure didn’t. Loved the concept of the show.
There is one good thing about coming back from traveling abroad, and that is binge listening to this show. I read that Peter Sagal is scripted, but it certainly doesn’t sound like it. I wish I had found the show a long time ago, it is absolutely fabulous.
This group obviously did not watch the Mueller hearings but that did not stop them from ridiculing Mueller. Faith must have been on something as she was laughing hilariously and every word Peter said. A weak show.
Very funny. No one safe, president included. You do /say something just plain wrong or stupid, expect to be called out, in a very humorous way. Good, current affairs, humor
Just can’t look away. So funny
You can always count on Wait Wait for a great listen. Peter Sagal is amazing. So sharp and quick on his feet!
once a very witty and entertaining show... now an endless anti-Trump diatribe... sad occasionally they accidentally lapse into their former light-hearted selves
As displeased as I am with our countries leadership there is just too much focus & criticism. Enough is enough..
I always enjoy this. a very good podcast you make me feel very in the loop but only the important stuff. It is an awesome podcast! keep up the good work !!
I love the program. So much fun. I didn’t give it a 5 rating because I find it distasteful when Paula Poundstone insults callers’ names. That is not the least bit funny.
Legendary.. Iconic. If you aren’t already listening to WWDTM, why not?
This is the show I go to anytime. You will fall in love with it!
I think I started listening to this program ever since it started, a year after I came to this country. It’s been the thing I look forward to on weekends since.
Carl and Peter make our week !! Best show on the planet
I’ve been listening to this show since I was a kid, and I’ve loved it consistently.
It’s so good bro 🦑
I love npr so much but wait wait was what got me to love npr so NPR ROCKS!
The best way to start the week! (especially if Paula is there) :)
Whenever I need a laugh, I can always count on this show. Works every time!
I’d give it 12 stars if it was possible! 🐱🐱
More idle chatter than the actual game
Snitch ath Nigerian mo’fujers
This is the Best show ever. Full of humor and wit and just classic crack ups. Love love love!!!!
We’ve been listening to WWDTM for about eight years, and if we miss the live version, we download the podcast. It’s addicting! We listen at home or in the car, laughing and learning at the same time. National, whacky, and inconsequential news is covered & skewered in quiz format, engaging the listener as well as the participants. The panelists are news people, comedians, and writers. If you don’t know who they are, you will know them well by the end of the show. We LOVE WWDTM!
One of the best podcasts out there so funny and the host is so funny
I have been listening to the show since I was a little kid in 1963. It’s the best podcast there is on the Internet! I am so glad that Paula Poundstone is no longer on her show as she now uses vulgarity in her current show. I don’t like it when people swear in podcasts as I think it’s crude and unwarranted!
I wish the host would not talk so much. I love it when there are guest hosts. Perhaps you could have revolving hosts. Just because one has been a host for a long time doesn't mean you should be the host forever. It used to be a fun listen. Now, I use it to get to sleep-Peter is a good soporific.
I love this show and have listened for years. Why, then, 4 stars? They’ve gotten downright mean-spirited when it comes to anyone even remotely related to Trump. It just gets mean, not funny.
As a podcast addict now I can still remember listening to Peter Sagal and the frequent fits of laughter. WWDTM is great for all ages and for those wanting to get a light approach to the weeks news.
I’m in junior high in Canada but from America and we aren’t allowed to play dodgeball for those reasons and it truly is Canadian
I’ve listened since I had to crank the electric machine up on the roof. Then my pocket radio in the garden. But it’s best to use the Walkman in the yard laughing while no one knows why. Now I can listen on my schedule .... However I get it, whenever I get it - it’s my favorite part of the day. Who ever said NPR is boring hasn’t listened since 1972.
My parents let me listen to this and I’m 12. I don’t get all of the jokes because the news bore me, but I get 8 out of 10. This is a great podcast and I would give it a four star for funny but they get a fifth star for their guests and the games played on the podcast. Awesome!
Even though I’m 11 I still think this show is funny!
These podcasts are so funny, I laugh out loud.
Is this WWDTM or How I Built This? I love both shows, but how difficult is it to figure out your coding and file uploading, guys?
I LOVE WWDTM!!! I enjoy this part of my weekend. (Even if I don’t always agree with some comments.)
This is one of my favorite show 👍👍👍👍♥️ so good!! More episodes
Laugh every time I hear it!
At the same time, that is.
I’m a longtime fan of WWDTM, but as I continue to listen each week it seems as though the show increasingly relies on cheap jokes. I started listening to this show because I would almost certainly be guaranteed to hear jokes about the entire political spectrum. As a liberal myself, I can, most of the time, appreciate the left-leaning themes as of late to a certain extent, but I feel like the show has become more biased in this direction than ever before. If it doesn’t get better in the next couple of months I will mostly likely unsubscribe.
I don’t always have the best week (We all don’t have nice days) and this show is my go-to. Thanks Peter, Bill, and all panelists. 😁
I'm a news/politics junkie, which can be depressing at times. Wait Wait is my weekly uplift and I always laugh out loud at least half a dozen times in every episode. Love Peter, love Bill Curtis, love all the panel members (especially Paula) and guests. It's the best hour of my week. (I know, I need to get a life. :)
Really frustrated. I would like to download an episode to my iPhone and listen to it without using cellular data.
This show is so funny! I keep my radio on all week waiting for wait wait don’t tell me to come on Love it. Keep it up guys
I used to listen to this show on the radio every week. When I moved, I never could catch it on air. So happy for the podcast! It’s smart comedy and I love all of the panelists. Someday I’ll get to be on the show. Someday.
I am a kid and I love this show. It is so fun to listen to every week on air and in the podcasts. Bill is super histarical and peter is wait wait there is no word to describe how awesome he is LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO LOL Anonymous 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Just started listening to this podcast, and it’s amazing! I love all the funny people, and they don’t swear! I have been listening for at least a week, and I love the new episodes! I recommend listening to this great podcast! 5/5 for sure! It’s so funny! I listen when I’m going to sleep, and it’s perfect for listening to when sleeping! Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me is a amazing podcast!
LOL I love this show great show
Love listening to this every Saturday
An amazing, light-hearted break from the seriousness of normal news. You’ll laugh every time!
Funny, quick, and amusing. I keep following it devotedly despite technical glitches.
One of highlights of my week—my favorite podcast!!!!
My Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me WWDTM is messed up; the How I Built This podcasts have been magically downloaded into my WWDTM Podcasts. What is going on? New marketing technique? How do I undo this? invaded y
This is a Saturday tradition for me. It is funny, smart, and the guests are always great. Thanks WWDTM!!!
I never miss a show! So funny! Love it!
How I Built This has taken over the podcast and downloaded an absurd amount of episodes on my phone. Please fix this!
My phone now thinks this podcast is how I built this and I can’t see wait wait... don’t know what happened in the last couple days but my NPR podcasts are all confused.
This is Henry Luessow the youtuber I’m only 9 years old and I love the show
Wait wait don’t tell me has been removed from the Apple Podcast library and replaced with How I Built This. I’m very disappointed. I want Wait Wait back!
“How I built this” has replaced “Wait, wait,” on Apple podcasts. I search for “wait, wait,” click on it and instead of seeing “Wait wait” episodes I see “How I built this” episodes but the reviews are all for “wait wait.” What’s up!?!
I keep trying to delete this from my library and it keeps coming back!!! Argh!
Best NPR pod ever
I love this station soooooooo much. It is hilarious and I am only in 4th grade. It is great for the car rides and is very funny.
I used to enjoy this show quite a bit, but over the years either it has become increasingly divisive and glib or I have become more sensitive to such tone. Humor is an excellent way to bring people together, but much of this show simply makes fun of certain groups while raising up others as somehow better, more intelligent or moral.
This show is great and hilarious and I'm just a 6th grader, I look forward to listening to this every night, great to fall asleep to.
I love this show and I’m just a kid. Bring back hari kondabolu more
I’ve been listening to this show since it started and am so glad that we now have podcasts so I don’t miss any episodes. Such a smart funny show. Had the pleasure of meeting Peter Sagal when he spoke in Long Beach, CA. In addition to being so smart and funny he is very kind and gracious. My wife and I look forward to listening to this show every week.
I know I spelled that name wrong but I like listening to her and your show. But consider dubbing in someone else’s laugh when she laughs. Her laugh is a big takeaway from the rest of her performance. Show aired Saturday April 13th
Absolutely hilarious twist on current events!
My dad and I have listened to this every Saturday since before I can remember. We always try to catch it on air, but when we can’t we make sure to listen to it on Podcasts. Wait Wait makes our life so in-joy-a-Bill!
Never seen anything as sexist and hilarious at the same TIME👍😖😀🍩🤩
Great program, Please bring Alonzo B. (Comedian). More often to the show. Without comedians the fun description of funny, becomes difficult to relate. Thank you. I.M.
Nothing beats this show. I can't wait to listen every Saturday morning!
I am a kid and I love it 😀😃😀😃😀😃😀😄😁😆😌😉🙃🙂😋😛😝😜😀😃😂
I love this show. I listen to it every week
I’m a New York man living in China you guys keep me informed and sane ,thank you guys I love you all
We never miss an episode! Even my adult kids in their 20’s say it is their favorite too.
Thank you. Thank you for Wait, Wait... don’t tell me. I would be lost without it. I am totally addicted. That hour on Saturday morning is absolutely sacrosanct. There’s nothing anywhere that can compare.
I am a huge fan of this show and listen to it while I walk. The time flies and before I know it, I’ve reached my step goal and have listened to a beautifully informative and very, very funny show. Treat yourself!!
I’m just a kid and I love it! Because I first love learning about pollitics and it’s funny.😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😄🤣
I love wait wait don’t tell me because is is relatable funny and keeps me informed about the news!
Combines all my favorites- a game show, comedy and some learning. Keep up the good work!!
Every Saturday I go to the podcast page on my iPad to see if the most recent episode has dropped. The format of old time radio game show mixed with current affairs and of course humor, in all forms from groan to belly laugh, is what draw me in every week. Peter is sooo smooth at keeping the pace going and the inmates under control on the panel it is masterful. His quick wit is amazing and I just love the way it all just falls into place and makes me a fan of the show more every week. The panel is such a wonderful and quirky mix with Faith and Mos and Tom and of course Paula. Please nobody pass away just yet so we can all live another week for this program!! Always a very listen-a-Bill program!!!
I have listened to this for years and it is hilarious. I love it. I would recommend it for anybody. It is family friendly and so funny!
A witty, objective, and best of all **hilarious** recount of current events.
This is a firecracker of a podcast, though my biggest complaint is that Adam Felber is not in fact on every show. I find when I listen to podcasts with him on every episode, a baseline is formed.
This show makes my day. I really wish you guys would allow more old episodes to be available for listening, I’ve played through all the available episodes already!
I am probably WWDTM biggest fan I obsessively listen to the episodes and laugh every time!
Always makes me laugh.
This is my most fave podcast, I look forward to it every week! Please never stop making this show.
I listened to WWDTM in my car when I was in college back in the '80s! Now, I can listen as I hike with my dogs. Still, I shout out the answers and laugh out loud. It never grows old. Every guest, panelist, and host is a joy. Do yourself a favor and make this you're weekly ritual. I promise, it will support you for your whole life.
I am so excited to be able to learn every time I listen to your podcast. I clean my horses barn and feed them while I listen. So I learned there is lots of poop everywhere! Silvia
Love this show
Love it!! I introduce people to it and most of them fall in love with it too.
I love how Hilarious this Podcast is awesome 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
This show isn’t funny. At all
After a long week of following concerning, scary, or depressing news, it’s wonderful to have Peter, Bill, and the panelists put a humorous spin on some of those news stories. It never fails to make me laugh out loud at least once and I look forward to seeing it in my feed.
You all absolutely nailed it. What a wonderful relief to listen to you all after every rough week of the current craziness in our country. This thing you have all created and contributed to has a tremendous positive influence on millions of us. Wishing you all the best and thank you SO MUCH for all you've given us.
Even better than car talk. I’d give it a bill-ion stars.
I listen to the podcast while walking and while driving...and I get there so much more quickly with your fast-paced humor. Great variety in guests. Thank you.
I enjoy the content of Wait Wait, but the audio quality often makes it unlistenable. Especially when on the road, the show sounds like it was recorded inside a toilet. Please, for the love of God, listen back to the show and hire audio engineers who know what they’re doing. It’s an embarrassment to NPR.
Please stop speeding up the speed of the podcasts. It sounds foolish. They talk so fast you miss some of the dialog. I stream the podcast so I can listen at my leisure. I don’t mind the length of the actual show.
I love the show, but my dog is terrified of game-show-style buzzers and bells. She starts trembling during the opening moments of Wait Wait because she knows the noises will come. Same thing with the Tonight Show and Ellen. Please switch to dog-approved sounds. Otherwise, you’re perfect.
I honestly really liked this show.. then I read the words “Stacey Abrams”. No thanks. Delete. Have a nice day.
You will never stop listening and loving it
I love this show! My family listens to it, and the jokes are great for people who don’t listen to it. And Peter, I want you to know that I laugh at you Listener Limerick Challenge puns.
This has been my "go to" podcast when ever I heard out for a run. I have been listening to them for a long time, even before you could listen to them on your phone.
Love this show and everyone on it but wanted to throw out that Maeve is a fantastic addition! I wish she’d come on every week! Cracks. Me. Up.
Awesome show! Always funny, clever and informative. A little lefty, but still fantastic!
One of the best shows on the radio. The most hilarious presentation of the news for real!
Keeps me updated while living overseas.
This is my bread and butter podcast. Gives me the news (which I avoid during the week) and makes me smile. The panelists are awesome, so glad that wait wait is around.
Each week Peter Sagal and his guests bring an hour of pure joy, spontaneous laughter, smart humor and just mirthful fun into my life. This podcast is unique among all the others and I look forward to each Saturday when it becomes available to listen to it. Peter and all his regular panelists are in this to bring levity to the weeks news (and BTW, they are all wicked smart and funny). You cannot be disappointed in giving these guys an hour of your time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
If I could only listen to 1 podcast for the rest of my life, Wait Wait would be the one ♥️
My whole family loves listening to this podcast, especially my youngest. We live in the Bay Area so it is almost impossible to see the show live. Maybe someday...meantime, keep up the great work entertaining us and keeping us sane during these tough times.
Hilarious, entertaining, love it!
I absolutely love this show. It’s witty, hilarious, and the political commentary is right up my alley. Paula Poundstone has long been my favorite panelist. I do, however, have to take off one star because they have so many “Best of Not My Job” episodes which are just compilations of previously aired guest appearances. It wouldn’t bother me too much if they were only two or three times a year, but they are much more frequent than that and they often overlap. Over the course of all of these “Best Of” episodes throughout the year, we will hear the same re-airing multiple times. I understand it’s public radio and they may not have the budget or the time to do a show every single week, but it can get repetitive. Other than that, this is an AMAZING program. Kudos to NPR and all the people at Wait, Wait for putting on such a great show and for keeping it alive for twenty years. You’re doing the world a service!
I have been listening this show on the radio and now by podcast for many years. I know that Peter is a comic genius, but who knew that under all that gravitas both Carl and Bill were very funny men? This is one of my favorite shows and I enjoy listen to it even though I get funny looks at the gym when I listen with my ear buds and no one knows what I am laughing out loud about. And I loved hearing the “inside baseball” episodes called Naked and Ashamed. Faith’s interviews and insights into the inner workings of the show were delightful. Please have more of these! Keep up the great work, and thank you for a sanctuary of sanity every week!
It makes me so happy and I’m only 10 years old
One of the first podcasts I listened to, and still a must listen every week for the humorous take on the week’s news
Pretty formulaic. I still listen, but other programs are overtaking it. Too many of the jokes are forced and predictable. It used to be that as soon as I got a new episode, I wanted to listen, but now it can wait a few days if I have a new episode of any of about a half dozen other podcasts.
And the podcast is very good when you are having a conversation with your friends and family that they can be a little bit more fun than the other people who don’t want to play the game and then
As with all NPR podcasts, I try to listen and ignore all the leftists comments and Trump-bashing, but it quickly goes over the top and I have to turn it off. Too bad that they can’t get past that.
BEST PODCAST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best podcast ever
I am a kid so I might not understand everything but I do know that this podcast puts me to sleep every night and that it is hilarious and to be honest my favorite Guest is Paula Poundstone and I just love the podcast and I hope they keep going for the next 20 years
Terrific. Always a pleasure to listen to. Peter Sagal is wonderful as is the *’regular’, rotating panel & scorekeepers: Carl Castle (R.I.P.) and Bill Kurtis. Cleaver segments, good rapport. Lots of fun.
It seems NPR is now trying to track podcast listener behavior.I am unsubscribing
In case anyone at the show is listening: Love the podcast, but am curious that the pitch for funding asks me to contribute to my local NPR station. If you asked me to help fund you directly, without siphoning off funds for NPR fees and administrators, I'd give! Also, it looks like I can't review "Naked and Ashamed" directly, so I'll add here that I HATE that title. Why are you ashamed? It's the lamest play on words I've ever heard.
Best npr show comedy and news
I sampled WWDTM when I drove someplace w my then 24 yr old son during the show broadcast on WNYC. It was a great listen - clever, funny and informative. I missed their visit to NJ a few yrs back and the recent one to Carnegie Hall. But that won’t happen again— so bravo on your milestone and a special thanks to Faith for the wonderful “naked and ashamed” interviews! Now will someone please give me the secret codes to listen to the outtakes and stuff on the cutting room floor???
Smart, downright funny. My favorite show by far. Keep up the GREAT work!
I live this podcast so much, but it seems to lack some content! I need more funnies!
Candid & verified what I hoped was true: that the cast love and respect one another through the same serious irreverence they share on Wait Wait. I am sure I will listen again to these!
I skip the shows with Paula Poundstone. She’s just not as funny as she thinks she is.
One of the best cures for homesickness while living abroad, wait wait is a joy.
Great show, keep it up!
Not only is it funny, but I sometimes get news I didn’t know before!
Listen, I get it the president does funny things. I understand that he can be annoying and unprofessional. But enough is enough! Move on to other subjects! Or at the very least please do NOT MAKE the first thirty minutes all about the trump presidency. I’ve stopped listening because it seems to be very discouraging instead of uplifting. Let’s continue to be liberal and love EVERYONE no matter how we feel about them. Or at least be respectful.
WWDTM is a salve to all the numskullery we hear about the rest of the week from the news. A good laugh.
Loved the naked and ashamed. Great learning about the cast and crew. Awaiting g Peters segment.
The most amazing show! It makes me happy i in the future want to have a podcast like this
I love these podcasts with Faith Salie! Her interviews with the panelists and staff of Wait Wait are a delight to hear.
This is my kid’s go-to show.
finally a podcast that knows how to make fun of the news! this podcast covers all the news and they turn it into pure enjoyable comedy!!! (i love it)
Not funny, don’t waste your time
I look forward to the show every Saturday. It’s a lot of fun.
This show is not for everyone. This show is for intelligent, humorous, open minded people. This delightfully entertaining radio event is a life changing moment for me every week. We all need to just let go and live our own lives while enjoying the lives of each other. Please continue with the laughter of what it is we are forced to live with day after day after day. For those who don’t like this show here is an original idea for you..... Don’t Listen... I’m sure all you haters have a mind full you would like to share with me but WAIT WAIT Don’t tell me!!!
Great way to keep up with what’s going on in the world!
I love WWDTM and have turned many people onto it ! A classic. Always good for a laugh.
Week in week out this show kills it and that is really hard to do.
Quiero mas Paula poundstone I want more Paula poundstone
I really wait all week to hear this show. It’s such a delight and so fun to listen too. Adds comedy to a more-often-than-not stressful news cycle and the comedians and host are great. Thanks for what you do Peter and the Wait Wait team!
I burst out laughing at my desk at work while listening to this podcast! I love the comedy/ease at which the panelists make jokes. The world needs more laughs
I cannot miss a Saturday! I love 💕 this program!
I used to love this show but ever since the presidential election it is like they can’t move on. Although I did not vote for him it also was not my first disappointment either. They seem to be reaching much too far to make a joke about something that is not funny anymore. Move on ... come up with a better candidate than the ones we had. It can not be that hard. Do something positive The jokes seem wore out and lazy. It is not funny anymore. Enough is enough! It’s now coming across as sour grapes! I’ll try again in two years. Your use to be better than this.
Amazing show! It informs, makes you laugh, and somehow Peter Sagal, Bill Kurtis, and the panelists manage to make the negative news from around the world a little easier to deal with. I listen to the podcast every week no matter where I am in the world.
I love this show. Easily the best NPR show ever. Did you know that this is also an option 😎😎😎😎😎
Entertaining approach to the weeks news. Real people that bring us together in laughter while keeping us informed.
This is quite possibly the best news show on the planet!
Stupid doesn’t begin to cover it.
I used to really love this show. Gave me a good laugh every week. But since Trump appeared the show is same-old same-old every week...make fun of Trump, make fun of the First Lady, overall mocking and crass jokes. I wish it would go back to what it was before. I don’t love or even like Trump by any means but the constant bashing of anyone just gets old really fast.
This show is AMAZING
I usually listen on delay on Monday or Tuesday. WWDTM makes my commute bearable.
I’ve loved this program for years! Thanks for the weekly dose of humor - the best way to digest the news!
I used to love the show and looked forward to every Saturday morning. But I am so sick of Sagal’s Pompous condescending personality. And when he called Billy Idol talentless That was the last straw. Idol has recorded some of the best songs in rock ‘n’ roll history. But Peter is just too self-absorbed and snobby to acknowledge that. If you heard that show you could hear a lot of the audience booing him.Just the sound of his voice makes me sick to my stomach. Please join Garrison Keillor in the trash bin of NPR hosts. Dikkhed.
Today’s news is hard to stomach, but WWDTM makes it a little less painful.
Sometimes it can be a little disappointing when they mock God or creation but the interviews and jokes are hilarious. I’m pretty sure I laugh out loud at least once or twice minimum in ever program. Great work!
Listen to this show every week!
Love the regulars and guests. One of the best shows on the radio.
If you do not subscribe,SUBSCRIBE!
I am 10 years old but I enjoy all of the humor on Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and I want to go on wait wait jr. someday! I love Paula pound stone and Roy blunt jr. the best and all of the panelists ROCK!
The wittiest show on radio is always most hilarious when Paula Poundstone is a panelist, but every panelist brings a unique brightness to the program. I so enjoyed the podcast of both Adams for its brief foray into the earliest history of “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me!” How wonderful to be able to access it more than once a week!
Tired of the continuing bashing of President Trump. I didn’t vote for him, but, none the less, there must be some other news to report and make fun of. I keep trying to listen with the hope Peter and crew can do better. Usually I have to delete the episode 1/3 of the way through, out of disappointment.
For me, this is by far one of the best programs around. It keeps my informed, makes me laugh like crazy and let's me keep my head about me while it appears everything is burning down around us.
Love every minute of it!!
I’ve been listening to wait wait since I was 18 and my radio reader show was replaced by this new News/talk show. I rarely ever changed the channel from NPR and of Click and Clack could make me listen and laugh when I was even younger, then maybe this show will be “okay”. Was I wrong... it was AMAZING and I now I have an addiction. I can’t even have a good Saturday unless I get my Sagal fix. I now have my 10 yr old groaning when I turn on my “funny people show”, as she says, but even she can’t help but try to solve limericks and gets squealing happy if she gets it right. Thank you for all of the long and happy years, and I expect many more to come.
Sexual violence, assault, harassment, or any related misconduct is not a joke. Ever. Regardless of gender. Suggesting that someone cannot find women who have committed such crimes is not a laughing matter. Sexual violence is a terrible act of human cruelty and it is not a gender specific crime. Nor is it fair to suggest that it is. I find it absolutely abhorrent to ever use this subject as a source of humor. Consider the pain of victims who are listening and how your words affect them. Laughing at someone’s pain or suggesting it didn’t happen is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed that this show isn’t choosing to be aware a considerate, especially given the current climate regarding sexual violence.
Love this show.
The best way to keep up with current (relevant and non relevant) events!
Bill and Peter are amazing. Maeve Higgins is the wittiest, most likable panelist. Her comedy is honest and grounded. Please put her in all future episodes. Please go back in time and edit her into all the episodes. Negin Farsad is also super fun. Helen Hong was a great substitute host. She is a fun panelist too. With my permission, you can put Helen and Maeve on all episodes and either Tom or Adam or anyone named Duane.
This is my must listen, it’s always great. And to the guy who dissed Ms. Poundstone in his review, I say, How Dare You!! Paula is a national treasure.
WWDTM The Naked and Afraid series is absolutely fantastic! Luke Burbank’s Wendy’s story was hilarious!! Keep up the great work.
Thank you for panelist Maeve Higgins! please have her on your show as often as possible— great combo of panelists for her debut!
This is not really a review, more of a thank you. With everything that has gone down with the USA gymnastics team I thought it was extremely refreshing to see Ali Raisman in this light. She and the cast were funny and entertaining. But the most important thing that I noticed was how respectful they were towards her. They did not hit her with 1 billion questions that she would rather not answer about the gymnastics scandal; she was just on to lightly promote her book and have fun. The entire cast and crew of the show has my respect.
Occasional low brow humor is sprinkled in with satire, sarcastic humor, and information. Does not fear self-deprecating humor, a trait I like in comedy. Definitely left/liberal leaning, as can be expected for an NPR show who tries hard to cater to its target university-aged audience. Enjoyable listening.
The least painful way to stay current. A spoonful of sugar...🎶
I love Wait Wait. I listen every weekend and it always makes me laugh. Peter is so clever and Bill is hilarious! The only criticism I have is that the show grinds to a halt every time Roxanne Roberts speaks. She seems to think she is so funny because she laughs at all her little quips even though nobody else laughs.
This hilarious quiz show is an excellent way to stay updated on current events and wacky pieces of news from around the world. It actually makes the news digestible and funny. Also, Maeve Higgins, a new panelist this past week, is a riot! Please have her back every week?!
Best in show don’t miss a single episode!!!
This is a great way to get the news and see the funny side of human nature.
A very funny program! Since Doonesbury no longer publishes daily, this show is often how I get my news!
1. Unfortunately, 9/11 was my middle daughter’s entre into “talk” radio. 2. She hates “talk” radio now, but I am happy to report, “Mom! NPR is not talk radio.” 3. Clearly I’m a superior parent. 4. I want to be Miz Paula Poundstone when I grow up (it was Betty White. The kid’s quote was the tipping point. 5. I have a frog named Carl Castle. The kid reminded me I also have on named Michael Feldman, but who here cares. 6. I LOVE Bill Castle, his openings make me yearn for Depends; but Mr. Castle holds a special place in my heart. 7. I had a crush on Mo Rocca until he was on television (be nice. I also have a crush on Peter Whatshisface. I have a policy not to google him.
Favorite part of the week is when wait wait don’t tell me comes out! Great listen every time.
Sometimes it's the only way I can stiomache the news; with a heaping dose of hilarity and amazing panelists. I tune in every week.
It's hard to imagine anyone not liking "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me". While there are ocassional episodes that are duds, they are far outnumbered by the one's that put a foolish grin on my face. Keep up the great work!
Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! has been a staple in my life for about 10 years now. As a young millennial that might seem strange but I love the smart, and entertaining approach to the news especially with the current political climate. I find that listening to Up First (though helpful and well done) depresses me most days, but Wait Wait is always there to make my Saturday afternoon drives better! Thanks for always being the best!
Listened to this show over a year now it’s my go-to for Monday morning to have a bit of a laugh in a mindful time. It’s a great mix of comedy with current events on a regular basis. The show has also introduced me to books and shows from their guests.
Enjoyable interview. Moved smoothly and amicably.
when I first started listening to this podcast, I binged listened for 9 hours. The comedy is so good at times, it's laugh out-loud funny. Thanks for making such a great podcast!!
Long time listener and Public Radio Donor. Loved, loved listenening to Faith and Mo chat. Such nice, funny people. Keep on doing what you are doing! I think every regular - Paula, Mo, Roy, Faith, Tom, Alonzo, etc. everyone, deserves their own highlight show. Like during the holidays when y'all are on vacation or during pledge week. Plus, Faith killed it when she hosted recently. Cheers. Barbara
I love this show and look forward to listening to new episodes every weekend! :)
I have to admit...THIS IS THE BEST PODCAST EVER! This comedic podcast is great because it is known for making fun of the news and I guarantee that you will make at the very least a chuckle listening. I am not kidding! This podcast is hilarious! I love their jokes about the news and right now we really need laughter and happiness in our society. Listen to this podcast and you will laugh your head off! 😂😂😂 BTW: I love you Paula Poundstone!
Would recommend. That is all
I love driving to work and listen the show before work. It sets the day for an awesome day. Thank you guys. From the beautiful Northwest, Portland, Oregon.
Go see them tape a show. So worth it!
I couldn’t stop laughing throughout the entirety of this pod. Amazing
I love Paula Poundstone! As well as the others!
Faith Sallie is a very funny and effective host. Watch your back, Peter!
I love listening to the show on NPR and it is so great to have it "on demand" in podcast form. The banter between the guests make me laugh out loud but I always have interesting news tidbits to share with friends. Love it. The mini casts midweek are always so silly and quirky.
I enjoyed this show for a little while but the “leftist/liberal fart sucking” has become overplayed and lazy (recycled Trump jokes). Ask me another is much more entertaining.
This show is great. An entertaining combo of news & humor. I just listened to my favorite episode ever, with guest, James Comey. Laugh out loud funny! This is a show my wife & I totally agree on. Favorite regular is Alonso Bowden.
This show makes news fun.
and I finally got to see them live! Love this show. It helps you laugh when thinking of the news as an alternative to the crying you really want to do.
Absolutely love this show!!! Both funny and informative!
I started listening to this a few months ago and it’s so awesome!!!!!!!
We listen as a family to this every weekend, my kids have grown up playing "wait wait" and doing pretend quiz shows. Ahh good times. Paula will always be our favorite guest, but they're all fantastic. Keep up the great work!
For my sanity I need my weekly listen. Listen to it with the kids in the car. They might even learn a little and get interested. And. It’s just human. Left leaning.
I’m a junior in high school, and I’ll be honest; I learn more about what’s going on in the world from this podcast than I do in school. A great way to learn the week’s news while also remaining fun and interesting.
Fantastic, funny, and relevant!
Makes me laugh with funny news that isn’t horrible. Makes fun of trump.
I listen to a lot of podcasts, this is one of my favorites - might still be in 3 years when Trump is no longer in office.
I like the format but the jokes are wearing thin. The only time the show is witty is when Poundstone is on, otherwise it is middle aged humor. I am really really really tired of the soccer and World Cup trashing.
Yes I know it’s a broadcast radio show, but WWDTM is the OG on my podcast feed. I don’t usually go after other reviewers, but seriously? One star cause you don’t like their sponsors? Weak. They have to stay on the air by taking *someone’s* money. That’s like a bizarro-world five star review. “Well, let’s see here, I want to give the show 1 star. What can I critique them for? The host? No, he’s self deprecating and keeps the program moving. The guests? No, they’re well-varied and typically top notch. The production values?! No, the only time they ever suffer is on the road and outdoor, and even then, pretty good. Ooh! I know, the panel is almost always all liberals! Yeh, but they’re mostly liberals no one’s heard of. And have you seen our President? Yeesh. I know! I’ll go after the sponsors!”
I worked in the oil and gas industry for 10 years. I know what they mean by ‘we are using the newest technology for better energy usage.’ Bottom line is that we can’t pull any more carbon to the surface environment. It’s like selling cigarettes to a person with stage 4 lung cancer. O & G needs a boycott. Hard pass. Too bad, bc I love this show. 1 star bc it’s more important than any great show.
I have nothing else to say but it’s the best podcast eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can’t stop laughing most of the time. Peter Segal is the best host ever. They don’t let me hid it any administration get away with anything.
As long as you can keep up with the speed of the host, this is a funny take on sometimes very serious subjects. Great writing and often very good in-prov by guests.
....same oh same oh...constantly bashing our President. Really enjoyed this podcast first couple of times I listened, but the same ‘humor’ became very boring.
Bring her back😺😺😺
Not sure if I should be proud or ashamed that this is where I get a lot of my news. I'm gonna go with proud. Hilarious and actually pretty informative new quiz show.
It’s hard to get your news updates now a days. I listen so I can get updates on current events and usually it makes me laugh.
It's definitely good for a laugh, but be warned the show always makes a mockery of Trump. If that's a sore subject for you, say away.
WWDTM is a hilarious and insightful look at recent events, interspersed with great pop culture references and guests. Peter (host) is glib, funny, and engaging. The various panelists have very different personalities, each bringing a different slant to the show. If you get to Chicago, try to make a live taping -- it's even better in person!

always a great show, keep up the good work!
When this was first played I was not happy about it. Then is listened to is and found it interesting so I started to download them and I listen to this when ever I can!
Wait Wait... Don’t tell Me is the greatest podcast I have ever listened to. Also the funniest. Loved the episode Retta. Great job NPR!
This is my favorite podcast. I know this by how excited I get when it shows up on my feed. Also. Virginia Heffernan (no relation! ) is my favorite. She sees this for the amazing political ride it is. Thank you Trumpcast for keeping me informed.
In the description of the recent episode “Keith Hernandez” I think that the title is supposed to say MLB first baseman instead of MBA first baseman.
Always good for a laugh and some knowledge.
It’s hard to listen to regular news shows, so I rely on Wait, Wait to help me find some humor in the alternative facts (LIES) the current WH administration is always pushing. Thank you Peter, Bill and the wonderful panel members who help me.
I’ve been listening since I was a child and now it’s right on my phone every Saturday! I love every minute of it!
Paula was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕💕❤️❤️❤️❤️ Perfect in every way! I love it !
Thank god for the humor infused by this program into the gruesome realities of American politics! Between the antics of Peter Sagal and Paula Poundstone i have been forced to laugh when my soul was bruised and sorrowful after listening to the latest news flashes. This program showcases myriad comedic talents who make me able to breathe easier. Never doubt - any of you - that you have lived in vain. And, btw,you are loved more than words allow me.
I wish that Helen Hong could be the regular host from now on. She is incredibly amazing at making me laugh.😁
I Love it.
I always look forward to this podcast! It makes me laugh and I enjoy the opportunity to call in and play the games!
Always entertaining, great guests, great quizes. Jonathan Coulton is a fabulous musician, Ophira is the hottest host on radio
Loved this show for years and years! Who knew the weeks news could be so fun!?!?!
I’m sorry, I cannot always listen. One of the people on the show keeps breathing in the mic when others are talking. It really triggers my Misophonia. I hope they can get it right someday. It’s very frustrating.
It is super good
I wanted to like the show. But I found the humor, humorless and at times fairly cruel. Very slanted with a liberal bend to rival the staunchest left wing socialist. Ugh. Don’t waste your time.
I think she is about the most brilliant, quickest adlib wits, and funniest among the many hilarious panelists. This show helps me survive the trump dumps. The dumps that started when donnie entered the news as an idiot rich boy on others coattails.
I listen to this podcast faithfully. It makes me laugh. There have been times when I have listened in my car where I was laughing and feared I would go off the road. I am constantly jotting down the little bits of news oddities that I hear so that I can share them with my friends (not while driving, of course!) Paula Poundstone is my favorite guest when she is on although all of the guest are quick- witted and amusing.
There is a distinct difference between the current presidential administration (President Trump) and actual Nazis. See, Nazis are responsible for one of the greatest acts of genocide in history, as well as being an aggressive military power that invaded almost every country in Europe. President Trump, regardless of your political affiliation, is not this. Now, I can take a jab or two from the left but this was a bit much. My wife and I listened for years, calling this one of our favorite shows on NPR, but today’s comment on President Trump, saying the administration has Nazis, belittles the memories of those in the Holocaust. It dilutes the hard meaning of what a nazi is. Very disappointed, look elsewhere for your game shows.
These folks are so sharp and witty. Always worth the listen.
We love to store up these podcasts to break up long drives. I listen to dozens of different podcasts, but this is the only one that I consistently listen to every week.
Paula, Moz, and Mo are my faves ! Thanks for so much news and fun.
I used to listen to you guys all the time. You were funny. Then Trump became president. Now, he isn’t my favorite president of all time. But, he is the president, like it or not. But you guys are constantly bashing him, making fun of him, etc. it finally got to be too much, so I quit listening. Sorry, but it was just too much!!
Enjoy this every week! The stress of current events can be tamed a little with this cleverly written show. The panelists are witty and quick. I send my condolences, however. Carl will be missed. Thank you for many years of listening fun.
I love this show & the ability to listen anytime is wonderful. My two favorite panelists, besides host, Peter Sagal, are Mo Rocca & Paulo Poundstone. Always funny, often hilarious, it’s interesting to learn about current events in such a humorous way. RIP Karl Kassel.
All you Paula Poundstone haters need to stop writing reviews. She is hilarious and by far my favorite comedian on the show.
Great news for you and your family
Funny show, but the political remarks get exhausting. We get it, you hate Trump.
Best podcast ever and Sorry for your loss Carl Castle
Your whole podcast is just slander nothing but trash
Several months ago I stopped listening the Wait wait don’t tell me podcasts. After Carl Kassel’s recent death I resubscribed to the podcast expecting to hear several tributes about Carl. Well, they replayed one of his show intros and spoke about 20 seconds about him then moved on to the non stop Trump bashing. So please change the name of your show to reflect the content. Just call the show “We hate President Trump” and be honest about it.
From the moment Bill Kurtis introduces himself to the credit roll, this podcast is fun and interesting.
One of the few shows that informs me and has me laughing out loud during the entire thing.
The best part of Saturday morning!
Can’t wait to tune in to this group’s highly funny and entertaining podcast each week. Everyone has their favorite panel members, I know. Mine is Paula Poundstone!!! I laugh out loud at her lines. I do so enjoy the hilarious interaction between the panel members.
I love this show. I listen to it as soon as it comes out.
The droll Paula Poundstone always makes me laugh (what a character) and Helen Hong is a hoot as well. Totally enjoy the show!
Greatest podcast I’ve heard. Hilarious and definitely entertaining. I’m a truck driver and listen a lot when NPR is not available. Just wish I could go back and listen to it from the beginning in 1998.
One of a few enjoyable ways I'm able to keep up with the national news in the U.S.
Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me is "The Lord of the Podcass" because WWDTM is keeping us informed & laughing at foibles & stupidity of elected people & others when the basic emotion is to want to cry at the deteriorating intelligence of humanity.
Irreverent and hilarious.
This show is hilarious as well as informative. The rotating panelists are a hoot, and the weekly regulars are good enough to be the show all by themselves. But the combination of all of the parts of this show make one worthwhile and entertaining podcast.
This has been my favorite show for years! Still the best and funniest show! Thanks and Paula you are my favorite!!!!!! Sorry Peter:(
THE best comedy you will listen to. Every Saturday. Can’t get enough.
This show used to be pretty good but now that the trump admin has come into power it’s like the only thing they know how to make jokes about.
Great podcast for those who like to catch up on the week’s events, and have a good laugh while they do. Not your typical stuffy NPR show, this one is genuinely hilarious.
And I like Paula Poundstone the bestest.
Been listening for years. Always entertaining
It is really joyful to listen and kill some time.
This program has been my one hour a week relief from the stress of the national news. The comments made by the host et al are exactly what I am thinking, but way funnier! Must listen for those who need to laugh at the news!
Paula Poundstone somehow manages to significantly lower the IQ and hilarity of Wait Wait every time she appears on the show, but if you stick your fingers in your ears and go “lalala” when she talks, it’s not half bad. The rest of the time, this show is an exceptionally funny and informative way to pass time and catch up on interesting tidbits of news!
I love this show. It’s funny and educational and makes me laugh out loud at work.
I’ve always loved this show. Love that I can listen to it on my phone. Someday I’m going to make a big donation to NPR but in the mean time all I can do is give them my nice words.
Can’t remember how long ago I started listening but it was a long time ago. I’ll be 80 in a couple of months and a far left liberal since I could walk. The program is like an old friend and wouldn’t miss it ever. Keep stirring up the world. It surely needs it. Thanks. Randall De Trinis (born in Brooklyn now in Virginia!! Yikes!
This podcast makes me laugh out loud anywhere I am. The host Peter Segal is a genius when it comes to comedy. I also learn about the going ons of the world.
The only way to digest the world on a Saturday.
Can’t make it through the week without my dose of Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me.
A perfect Sunday listen. Recaps the week's important events, in addition to the funniest ones. News without the negativity. Guaranteed smile.
Fun, witty, entertaining... EXCEPT THAT LAUGH! I am not sure which female host the laugh belongs to but one of them has the most annoying laugh ever. It is also usually louder than everyone else’s voice. How does the producer not pick up on this?
This is by far the funniest show today anywhere in the media. When Paula Poundstone is present, it’s just spikes in humor. Peter Sagal is a genius. What a striking contrast to all those stand up comedians who think they are funny!
Wish the news wasnt ABSOLUTELY boring? this is the podcast for you! (although some news gets overlapped, its still worth it!)
This show’s take on news and current events is one of the most enjoyable and funny ones out there. Love playing along as I listen and cracking up at the panel.
The only wrong with this show is the frequent guest Paula Poundstone, rarely and very rude, interrupts everYone. When she is a guest I immediately delete he episode.
The sounds. The Words. The Laughs. Thank you and Please Keep Broadcasting.
Just started listening to this podcast.. Hysterical!! I find myself literally laughing out loud!! Worth a listen big time!
I love the opportunity to hear this show, puts me in such a great place and always get a belly laugh several times in each show. Please have MORE shows, or ones like it, love you guys❣️🌈😎🍀👍
Great set up and show material, but bashing trump has been old for a long time. Can’t you think of some original material?
If, somehow, you don’t know about WWDTM, start listening NOW. These are laughs we literally NEED these days.
Love Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me. I especially enjoy all of the comedians that are there to play along.
Very funny look at the news, both major and obscure, from the past week. Seem to be a lot of complaints about Trump comments and jokes, but president bashing is part of the shtick no matter who is in office. Many liberals on the panel, but neutrals and conservatives as well. P. J. O’Rourke is a regular and is about as conservative as they come, but even he can enjoy a poke at foibles the right as well as the left. A “can’t miss” podcast in our family. The quick wit of all cast members is amazing and refreshing in a much too serious world.
This show would get a higher score but Moe Rocca beats every joke to death, interrupts every guest with the most inane drivel and generally ruins the show. He is so unfunny episodes with him leave me in a foul mood. The daily show fired him, these folks need to do the same; i cant/wont listen again until he’s gone.
TV is overrated...radio rocks, especially with this funny take on the news and current events. The panelists are brilliant, witty and quick. Peter and Bill are awesome leads. You’ll get caught up on what’s happening and get a good laugh along the way.
If you thought NPR was boring and unfunny you are so wrong! This news quiz show was always my favorite, and I’m so glad it’s now in podcast form.
Paula Poundstone is my favorite panelist/comedian. I would love to hear her more often on Wait, Wait, Don’t tell me!
When you win the hilarious WWDTM game, you realize you are WAY too updated in the week’s news. Love me some Paula, Mo, and Peter!
I have been a fan for years, prior to discovering their podcasts, now I am a fan of the podcasts and look forward to each new one.
I like word problems and trivia. I listened to this show until I got tired of the conservative bashing. I want to hear word problems and trivia. I would resubscribe if they would stay out of politics.
Despite being billed as a "weekly current events quiz", I do not believe Wait Wait was created to inform people as would a regular newscast. The hosts and panellists are predominantly Democrat/Liberals and are certainly opinionated, but their presentation is first and foremost comedic and conversational. While discussing very real injustices and traumas, humour is used to lighten the mood – even if temporarily – without ruthlessly exploiting the victims for shock value ; guests are seldom invited to preach, rather to crack a few jokes and answer a few silly questions. It's vanilla, I know. And it's only a temporary escape from said injustice and trauma, I am aware. Still valuable, though. Taking an hour out of my week to sigh and enjoy some lighthearted wisecracks is a small sacrifice, and WWDTM has been consistently reliable for doing so.
I look forward to this show every week. One of my favorites!
I love this show so much. It always makes me smile.
I enjoy playing along with the games.
This is my long-term favorite podcast. Been listening for a few years now and find that when I'm out walking, listening to Peter and the gang, I'm very often just grinning, even laughing aloud, and must appear nutty to passersby. I've thought of just putting a sticker on my back that reads "Not crazy, just listening to Wait, Wait . . . Don't Tell Me." No matter where my head is when I start listening, I'm in a great mood within minutes. It's a little boost of perspective and a great way to deal with the stress of our current politics.
Been listening since the beginning, always a great combo of humor & info. Still waiting to hear roxanne lose to paula...a girl can dream.
We never miss a pod cast on this. It makes our weekend drives a lot of fun. Keep it going!
Each week I walk away with some funny news tidbit that drives me to say later in conversation, “...I think I heard it on Wait Wait...” Great show. Cathartic even.
I love it
This program is super funny. I wait for "wait wait dont tell me" every week. Every single part of the show is amazing and never slows down.
I love this show. It’s much needed humor about the state of the country right now. But I can’t listen to it with my 10 year old. And that bothers me. I don’t understand why a _public_ radio show should be MA only. I want to educate my kids about the world through the news and it’s a shame they can’t enjoy this show with me.
Always one of my favorite podcasts to listen to each week.
So much fun whenever I want it.
get through one episode without mentioning Trump, I might re-subscribe. Thus used to be a witty and entertaining show, now its just crap
I love this show- thank you Peter Sagal and crew. Listen once and enjoy the episode in your head all week.....
Paulo is the best. Always bring her to the show please. She’s hilarious ❤️❤️
Peter Sagal leads his crew with sophistication. I like most of his panelists, esp. Paula Poundstone. Their repartee and quick responses make me laugh out loud. The one drawback is the new sidekick, Bill, who is too self-centered and self-congratulatory for my taste.
My parents loved this show. I didn’t get it. Until I reached about 5 years into my double digits, that is. Laugh-out-loud entertaining and good mental therapy for when you need to get a laugh out of the news.
Ophira is a killer host
So I’m biased. I grew up with this show- I even volunteered working the crowds for live tapings of this show! However, being overseas makes me appreciate the consistency and quality of a show like this. You get to laugh, you get to learn, and most importantly you don’t feel like you’re missing out of what’s going on at home.
I am obsessed with the show, totally love!!
Cracks me up! One of these days, Im going to have an AWESOME voice on my voicemail!!!
I used to just enjoy this show but now I love it. They are taking this crazy era to task, and it's hilarious. It feels like the only sane thing these days.
I have listened to this weekly for a very long time and Never get tired of it. The format stays the same but rotating panelists keep it fresh. A previous review thought Paula Poundstone is not a good panelist. I disagree. I know it will be a top notch show whenever she is on. Bobcat What’s-his-name is the only one I can’t stand. Those remarks just show that WWDTM has something for everyone. Note to producers: the BEST guest host is Mike Pesca.
Refreshing hilarious & insightful. I look forward to reviewing the week with a good laugh. Peter Sagal has the best voice- ~butter~
This is such a fun show! I love it even when I fall behind, but it is really good to listen every week. I can't stand the news most of the time, but this lets me feel like I'm not totally out of the loop.
I love this podcast, simply love it.
I love the comedians you have on the show. The format is a great way to laugh about the weeks’ news.
This podcast is an absolute riot to listen to--I love playing along at home seeing how much of the week's news I paid adequate attention to. Its snarky take on news and politics is really appreciated by my entire family--we listen every week together!
Wait Wait is the only podcast I NEVER miss. Peter Sagel is a witty, quick-thinking host who drives the show forward in such a fun and intelligent way. Genius. Especially love episodes with Paula Poundstone, who always has be doubled over with laughter. Try this podcast and like me, you’ll be hooked.
I don’t honestly remember anything more engaging and witty than WWDTM in a long line time. Maybe Whose Line is it Anyway is a comparison. Brilliant writers and amazing hosts - Peter and Bill. Carry on, gentlemen!
This is public radio and should not be the exclusive forum for the Democratic Party , however, that is what it is. Tired of the incessant Trump bashing!!
I’m so happy that Wait Wait has a podcast. I’m rarely available on Saturday mornings to listen to the radio. But later each Saturday, I punch up the podcast and voila! An hour of smart, hilarious fun. All of the regulars are clever and funny but Paula always proves to be an extra fun treat!!!! Wait wait forever!!!! Xovm
So entertaining!!!! Love it! Smart and funny. Highlight of my weekend!
Tom Bodett and Luke Burbank are my faves. Always painful listening to Roxanne read, and she might know all the answers in the lightning round, but she's just not funny.
You are part of my Saturday routine. Bringing laugher in a reflective way. I feel better when i hear the show and gives me hope that there is a 🤠 world out there.
Our whole family looks forward to the new episodes of this program. The kids laugh and ask questions, helping them learn about current events. Thanks for putting a lighter spin on the world today.
I listen to this podcast mostly when I’m driving and if everyone would just listen to it when they drive, there would be no more road rage. My 13 year old daughter also loves it, too. She loved when Simone Biles and Tom Hanks were on. We learn a little and laugh a lot and with current events the way they are, well, we have to laugh to keep from crying, don’t we?
I look forward to this show every week! Love the variety of guests and their witty hilarious commentary to the week’s news (which I prefer than just listening to the news). Peter and Bill are excellent host & funny announcer
Used to love this program but over the past couple of years it seems to be a "bash all views not in line with the Progressive/Left wing agenda". I am unsubscribing because, for a group that supposedly wants diversity and inclusion of all people, conservative and traditional viewpoints are mocked and unwelcome by the panelists and the host. Another reason many people call for defunding of NPR.
I love this show. it provides at least 15 minutes of conversation at every family gathering. I think they make my grandmother feel better about how awful Trump is and how her party isn't her political party anymore. anyway, thanks for giving me a way to connect with someone 70 years older than me -24 year old in Cambridge MA
I stopped listening to the news after the election. I don’t like trumps voice and “some” of the things he says makes me super angry. I get to hear the important things in 1 hour from the wwdtm crew. Thank you. Also play along with the quizzes. There will always be a Donald trump answer.
When things are their most bleak, humor is even more important. I enjoy being educated on current events while being entertained. I also enjoy hearing about some of the stranger news events throughout the week.
it's boring as dirt
The standard to which all NPR shows and podcasts should be held. Always hilarious, often informative and usually bawdy good fun!
Every week my friends and I chat about the episode. Funniest moment or starkest truth.
The make lots of jokes. Sometimes they even talk about the news. Very intertaining.
I love you Paula !!! 👠👠👠👠👠👠👠
This show has been on my "don't miss" list for years. It's always entertaining.
Before being a pod listener, we would try to catch this on local NPR radio Saturday’s. My son & I have listened for over 2 years. It’s a great combo of hosts, guests, news, & humor.
I listened to this show because it was lighthearted entertainment. Now it is the Trump ridicule hour. I am not a Trump supporter, but I would like to turn on the radio and hear about something other than Trump once in a while.
This show use to be funny u til it became nothing but one sided politics. I don’t have any side because I’m so tired of hearing crap that we can’t control. Everything is biased. Come on guys, please go back to the time when it was t all Republican bashing.
We get it already Trump is a white supremacist Nazi who revels in stealing healthcare from the weak. This once clever podcast has devolved to a contest where hosts and guests compete to mist cleverly repeat this one idea over an over. I can’t be the only one who thinks this is just overkill. Can I?
I love you, Peter.
This is a seriously dangerous podcast. A few days each week, I walk or jog a 5K track around a local golf course through a wildlife preserve. Listening to WAIT WAIT..., there has been more than one occasion on which--during the walk/jog--I've had to stop and lie down by the side of the road I was laughing so hard. When this happens, fellow pedestrians, rabbits and herons stop and look at me like: "Dude..."
I love the banter with the panelists and the great connection Peter Sagal has with the guests. I especially love Bill Curtis’s intro of himself - always hilarious. I recommend the show to anyone I know who listens to podcasts.
But wait wait helps me laugh and keep it in perspective. Many thank you’s for years of laughter.
I wait every week hoping there is a new show. The panelists are always witty without being crass, and they can't complain that the news isn't giving them a lot to make fun of.
I couldn't live without this pod cast. I wait for it's download every weekend.
This show is the reason I started listening to podcasts. I just can't get enough of these guys and their guests. My favorite thing is seeing how well I paid attention during the week when they ask news related questions. OK, I'm wrong, my favorite part is bluff the listener.
I listen to every episode! One of the best podcasts ever :)
I love wait wait don’t tell me. In a time of bad news we all need something hat will make us laugh. A show that always makes me smile.
This show is a great tonic in today’s political climate. I look forward to it every weekend!
Even when it's bad, it's very, very good. The sharp-witted panelists (most of whom only show up for unpredictable programs) make this current-events (and sometimes whacky) quiz show a mind-tickler. The few "prizes" are awarded to a handful of called-in listeners and the points panelists earn for them are typically for panelists answering comedic or news-based questions. Winners get voice-mail messages read for their answering machines by Carl Kassel, the elocutionary erstwhile presenter of "Morning Edition"; no $64,000 prizes here. But it's all in good fun, offers lots of laughs, as well as a self-challenging current events quiz.
Extremely intelligent blend of comedy and trivia games. I gave it 4 stars because of the constant bashing of Trump. A joke is only funny a few times. The answer to the first question of the show is “Donald Trump” 9 out of 10 Times. And what about their conservative audience? Does the show want to alienate 50% of Americans? If you want to poke political fun you should poke at both sides.
Consistently funny and almost informative
A humorous news twist and a relief from the news noise.
I love this podcast. Peter Sagal is hilarious and the panelists are always top notch.
Can't miss the great humor, political and otherwise!
This show always makes me laugh out loud.
I like funny how bout you
And I'm a millennial! Love this show
Love It! Informative, ridiculous, and unapologetic. News mixed with lighthearted playfulness that makes it easier to assimilate. Can't get enough!
A quiz show that uses the despair of our current situation to bring laughs is just what we all need. Love Peter a lot, he is witty.
These guys are hilarious, and lately they have been more inclusive with their panel than ever. They recently had (gasp!) a female comedian take over for Peter on a vacation day. Keep it up!
The only podcast I listen to that regularly makes me laugh out loud. I learn things I've missed in regular news as well
I listen to this all the way in New Zealand, and I'm trying to figure out how I can be s caller. Great show.
If it's a fun and timely look at the events of the week this is the show not to miss!
Love the show - lots of laughs and learn a thing or two also. Paula is my fav. Laughing that my phone is showing 11 year old reviews - felt compelled to update ;)
I'm a devourer of all things NPR from listening to my local affiliate during my commutes to subscribing to most of their podcasts. I cannot for the life of my get into this show, which is all due to the host. If you enjoy dad jokes and also enjoy The Big Bang Theory than this show is for you. Otherwise steer clear!
My favorite way to catch up on the week's news, because it's in a fun trivia format. I always listen to the last section right before trivia nights and then kill it at current events. So thanks!
Wait Wait was the first podcast I ever subscribed to and with very good reason. Peter Sagal does a wonderful job bringing a comical spin to the weekly news in this quiz show. The panel of rotating writers, comics, commentators, etc. showcase their quick wits with their guesses to the questions or responses on the answers. I love how this is both educational and entertaining.
I love the show. It's fun news trivia game. Almost makes current events not as depressing. It's hilarious!
