Aggregated reviews for Welcome to Night Vale

Twice-monthly community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, where every conspiracy theory is true. Turn on your radio and hide. Never listened before? It's an ongoing radio show. Start with the current episode, and you'll catch on in no time. Or, go right to Episode 1 if you wanna binge-listen.

So sad   (1/5)

Writing this review breaks my heart more than anyone will ever know. I found Nightvale years ago and have been an avid listener. The podcast itself is great and even got me into writing. It’s creative, well thought out and performed fantastically. I was excited to try and get to see it live sometime after the pandemic passed. The problem came with the episode I just started. In it during the beginning they actually offer you links to donate to bail funds. The same funds that are being used to bail out arsonists, vandals, thieves and yes I know some is going to peaceful protestors but some of the groups are even donating money to the Democratic Party. I’m no longer going to be listening to this podcast or any other Nightvale presents podcast...I even am canceling my order of their new book about the faceless old lady. There is no place for me in the world of Nightvale now that I know they encourage violence, or people donating to it. I’m sure I’m in the minority as far as my offense to this, and I doubt it means much but today you lost a long time listener and fan for no reason.

Thank you   (5/5)

Great show!   (5/5)

It’s a great radio show to listen to 2 am while eating marshmallows by the handful. Or at least I think it is. A little creepy but nothing I can’t handle. 😝

Most creative podcast out there!   (5/5)

I love this show. It’s well-written and produced and just makes this fan of spooky stories so happy.

Disturbing in the best way.   (5/5)

I love this podcast so much. It’s weird, wonderful, and feels like the podcast I would create if I could write. And for anyone who says it’s too political- you are missing the point completely.

Love it   (5/5)

This show is amazing and I love it. It reminds me of old radio dramas.

I like it   (5/5)

I’ll assume that as a stranger you may be skeptical of my interests at best. Most likely it’s purely inconsequential to your life. That baggage out of the way I like this weird little snow and have for a few years. So maybe you will too? Then we would have something we like in common, and therefore less strange than we first suspected.

#1-#50 are good but that’s about it   (1/5)

Too much political stuff, I didn’t listen to this podcast for political opinions. Weather songs are annoying and get in the way, the exposition dumps that they make way for show that they don’t want to write. The way that the characters interact can be annoying. All in all it’s a good idea executed poorly which makes me sad cause it could be so much better

This is a great podcast!   (5/5)

I think this is a great podcast for when you’re feeling moody, or bored. This will give you a strange sort of peace, and is also quite creepy and hilarious! If I had to listen to one podcast for 24 hours this would be my choice. Also, I’m shipping Carlos and Cecil. ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD! (Faint smell of vanilla wafts in.)

Love   (5/5)

This I the definition of good weird podcast

Great show   (5/5)

If you listen to this show you might experience emotion. Do not give in to the emotion. Do not feel. Do not experience it. The show is only recommended for the ones who have been given anti emotion abilities.

Timelessly Weird yet Comforting   (5/5)

Nightvale has been such an escape for me for years, and I really am enjoying re-listening to my favorite episodes during quarantine. I also have to laugh at newer reviews saying they’re “getting too political” as of late. As if previous seasons didn’t have themes of corporate exploitation of workers, a corrupt and secretive government, cultural appropriation, and the acceptance of people you don’t understand or are taught to exclude. Well, see ya to those people! You’re really missing out on not only a lot of interesting subtext but also a great show <3.

Brilliant   (5/5)

Just brilliant

Eye Love It   (5/5)

May all podcasts utilize the Eye-motif, and unite under the Watching and Smiling God from above. And on a different note! 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👌

Yep   (5/5)

Right on dude!!!’

Surreal   (5/5)

I tried to listen to the latest episode before bed and I got nightmares about little mirror men. Just the right kind of spooky.

Beautiful   (5/5)

One thing I love about Night Vale is you get to listen to it grow. It's beautiful and funny and strange and comforting and terrifying. Hands down one of the greatest gifts to humans, this story.

No story   (2/5)

There is no narrative, so it’s BORING!!! Good production and narration are not enough!

Fine   (4/5)

Ok... It’s funny to listen to. But it’s hard to listen to for a long time.

It’s great   (5/5)

I used to listen to it back in 2017 and just got back into it and my goodness are there a lot more episodes now. It’s very enjoyable and is exactly my kind of podcast to listen to in the background!

Night Vale   (5/5)

I absolutely adore Night Vale! Thank you Joseph Fink, Jeffrey Cranor, Cecil Baldwin and others. You have brought insurmountable joy into my life. I love everything about this podcast. Thank you so much!

Amazing   (5/5)

I have been listening for a little of a year. And I finally just got caught up. Love this podcast! It is just the best, I love the weird little things that kind of make you question everything. Thank you!

Seriously, so good*   (5/5)

Loved this podcast and would recommend to others if you like really weird podcasts👍👍👍

👁   (5/5)

You have pleased me, this show is most excellent.

I love it   (5/5)

Amazing podcast

The good and the improve   (5/5)

Welcome to Night Vale is honesty the best podcast I’ve ever listen to, I feel like there is a small plot and it is amazing how they don’t really let it become to significant. Now you see nothing is perfect and I think although Joseph fink and Jeffery crainer are extremely talented people but like I said no one is perfect and I think people should known where they went wrong, first I feel like there are too many locations and it’s pretty hard to keep track of all of them but that doesn’t even matter and it’s my only complaint so good job guys your guys are the very best writers I’ve ever heard Y’all should do Zach Bryan for the weather one day

All hail the spire   (5/5)

Love this podcast ❤️   (5/5)

This is one of the funniest podcasts I’ve heard. I highly recommend it.

such a great podcast!   (5/5)

the first podcast i ever listened to was this one, quite a long time ago! (who am i kidding? time doesn't make sense here! actually, nothing makes sense around here now. not since- you know. oh, god... they're outside. you- we- we don't have much time. call- no, text- text your family. we don't have time to call them. tell them you love them. be as still and quiet as you can. they just broke down the door! quickly! run! oh. oh no. you- we- we were.. too late. i think they have us surrounded. wait! what was that sound? who broke the window?!? wh- no. n- no! you have the wrong person! i didn't do anything! i didn't! i promise! please! please! i have kids! please! no! i'm innoce-)

I LOVE THIS PODCAST SO MUCH!!!!! I think I’ve made a review before but idc, this podcast is great!!! My only request... Redemption arc for Kevin? 🥺 👉🏻👈🏻

It makes me feel some things   (5/5)

From beginning to end it’s is a mind freak of epic proportions

Just... thank you.   (5/5)

I love this show, the characters, the plot, the representation. Just, thank you.

Fricken love it   (5/5)

I’m an idiot. My friends are idiots. This gives us more to be stupid about because of these wacky but somehow serious adventures lol

Pretty good?!?!?!   (3/5)

It’s good but… there’s no plot? It’s very good but it would be better with a plot.

Welcome to night vale   (5/5)

I love this podcast. My favorite character is deb the sentient patch of haze/ Dana cardinal. Great job I love this podcast

It's weird to be weird   (3/5)

It's only weird to be weird. I listened to a lot of episodes until I realized I didn't have to. There's no point to it, no point to the peculiarities and wanderings, just like some of their other podcasts. There's a lot of good stuff beyond horror, true crime and 90 min might-as-well-not-be-edited interviews in the world of podcasting.

...   (5/5)

This is the faceless old woman who secretly lives in your home. Did you just feel my hand on your shoulder? Of course you didn’t. No one ever does. Chad, why did you draw a star on your floor and light ugly candles that only fill your house with red light and smoke? I don’t understand. Your dog is... disturbing. Please get rid of it soon. Maybe I’ll eat it for you. Also, just get rid of the candles Chad, they’re weird. Thank you. Also can you please leave the window in your bedroom open at night? It gets a little stuffy here in your closet. That creature is looking at me again, it’s so... LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST!!!

The Wonderful Weirdness of Nightvale   (5/5)

If you’re not listening to Welcome to Nightvale, you are missing out! This podcast has honestly gotten me through some of the most difficult times in my life. It’s immersive, wonderfully weird, and extremely well written. This podcast will always have a special place in my heart, and I hope it continues to run for years to come.

Best podcast ever!!!!   (5/5)

This was the first podcast I was told to listen to and so, I did. I love the story, the cast, and the fact that it has a fun 1920-1940’s radio serial feel. This podcast keeps me company when I’m alone and bored and has even cured my headaches and hangovers. Never stop, guys. You’re amazing.

(Click) Noice👌   (5/5)

I really enjoy this podcast, and during the summer it really eliminates bored quite efficiently. It’s full of subtle jokes and fun little puns, as well as things that make be question my existence. great podcast!

Please drop the politics   (2/5)

Night Vale has always been a great show. But they are suddenly promoting left wing radicals. There are hundreds of Podcasts out there that cover politics. Please leave the politics to the other shows.

Love   (5/5)

Just a glorious thing.

I got reconnected   (5/5)

I love this podcast. I used to listen to it a couple years ago but then it drifted away... until my friend reconnected me with it. AlL hAiL tHe ClOuD

The rabbits are not what they seem   (5/5)

Welcome, to night vale

don’t get me started   (5/5)

Welcome to Night Vale is a VERY interesting podcast, but it is extremely fascinating and it really pulls you in!! this was my first podcast i ever listened to, and it spiraled me into the community of podcasts, so i highly recommend this podcast if you’re new to the fictional podcast community! one thing to keep in mind as you listen to this, however, is that this is a SATIRE of Americana. people tend to forget this, which is fine, but this is a satire of Americana.

Eat it, Shane2356   (5/5)

We won’t miss you.

Amazing   (5/5)

My favorite podcast.

A lovely, lovely thing   (5/5)

Anybody know a good way to summon a puppy? Steve told me I should get one and he tries to be helpful.

Political Opinions   (1/5)

I will no longer be listening to this or any podcast you produce due to your support for and airtime you give to Black Lives Matter.

Not to be that person...   (3/5)

...but I have stopped enjoying the episodes as of late. I’ve gotten to the mid-2018 episodes, and I also don’t like the recent change in audio quality? But anyway, the podcast just seems....stale at this point. It’s not as interesting or creepy anymore. Too much is explained by the time gap of the weather, like, “wow all of this intense plot-related action happened in the four minutes you were away and now let me exposition-dump my way through it!” Maybe this world has just run its course, but it doesn’t feel like there’s much left here anymore. Arcs and stories don’t feel as thought out and long anymore. I’ll keep listening for a while yet, but this doesn’t have the same OOMPH that it did to me for the first 100 episodes or so. EDIT: Halfway through episode 141 I realized I really disliked listening to this podcast, so I’m going to stop here. Thank you for the memories, Night Vale, thank you.

AMAZING!!! Must listen to during quarentine!!   (5/5)

I love this podcast and it is a treat to listen to every day. It is great when I'm drawing or doing something else to have it in the background, or just listen when I can't fall asleep. I love the plot and the characters, and the story is so beautifully weird. Thank you for making it!

10/10   (5/5)

i followed their advice and ended up in the shadow realm. not my plan but we vibing. jimmy from the void says hi

Beautiful and strange   (5/5)

Welcome to Night Vale is I think officially the first podcast I ever listened to, and it completely holds up. Strange, profound, funny, relaxing - I have no idea how Night Vale manages to balance all these qualities so stupendously, but it manages somehow.

AMAZING!   (5/5)

My favorite podcast, a little world I can curl up with at night. A strange and perfect storyline I’ve loved ever since I’ve started listening.

I’ve heard the cries of the wind-scorpions   (5/5)

And they all ask, “WHERE’S THE BEEF?!”

And this is an out standing podcast   (5/5)

This podcast just keeps getting better and better!

Bad romance   (1/5)

Brownstone tower

Immaculate   (5/5)

The flavor of this podcast is immaculate

Amazing   (5/5)

I love how the characters grow and developed over time and how they’re all a big family. The plot and character development are great and I would recommend this to anyone who needs a good story

Wow   (5/5)

Just wow. I’d give this show 20 stars if I could but my hands seem to have been gnawed to the wrist.

feels a lot like home, all hail the glow cloud   (5/5)

i love this podcast so much, it makes me feel very at home and relaxed. if i’ve had a bad day or am having anxiety, this’ll calm me down a lot :D

Love it!   (5/5)

Honestly just in love with the story and settings it gives us. Very detailed and creates its own story and a world of its own. The story telling puts you directly into it and I can’t get enough. I mainly listen to it at night and it gives me a great sense of nostalgia and I love the relationships set out in this and that it’s all inclusive. It includes all groups and the characters are interesting each with their own personality

It’s amazing   (5/5)

It’s entertaining but also oddly funny. Everything makes you think if it really exists and makes you ponder about everything you’ve been told

Absolutely Amazing Podcast!   (5/5)

I love this podcast with all of my heart, it's the strange mix of existential questions and peculiar scenarios that keep you sucked in and wonder what's going to happen next. Plus, the dash of comedy makes everything seem so much more fun to listen to. Granted, this is the first podcast I've listened to, but this, without a doubt, will the the best one I have EVER encountered. Keep doing what makes this podcast amazing! 10/10

I LOVE IT 😍!   (5/5)

You are so funny and I LOVE to listen to you all night🤩! My favorite episode is ‘’cat show” but I honestly just LOVE to listen to all of the episodes🐱! You guys are just genius🤓! Please keep making funny episodes!🤪

All Hail   (5/5)

All hail the mighty Glow Cloud, may his highness and his highness’s son prosper forever. May the brownstone spire rule forever. May the mudstone abyss be a hole forever. Amen

I love this podcast   (5/5)

I love it so much it’s really funny and relaxing it’s awesome thanks for making it!😆🥳😂🤣😄😎👌🤙🤩😇🙂🥰😍😛😝😜🤪🤓😎

A world-class seminar in worldbuilding and character development   (5/5)

Exactly what it says on the tin. This is the podcast that got me hooked on podcasts and it continues to deliver 8 years later. From early episodes handling the day-to-day absurdities of Night Vale life to more recent deep-cut plotlines, the Night Vale team has always impressed me with their dedication to their stories and characters. I encourage everyone to support Night Vale Presents in any way they can during this time of crisis, and continue that support into the future.

My Desert Home   (5/5)

I have listened to this amazing, fun, and inspirational podcast since 2016. I moved around a lot and this podcast introduced me to a wonderful world of diverse, colorful characters who are all so unique and amazing, even Steve Carlsburg. Night Vale became another home, a place to seek refuge in when I needed peace in my life. A place that helped me embrace my inner oddity and myself more and more. I am so grateful for this podcast for the joy, sadness, love, and laughter it has brought me. If you want something that will take you away into another world where you don’t have to worry about your problems, work, or wheat and wheat by products then you need to listen to this podcast. I love it. I hope many of you will fall in love with this amazing desert community too.

Welcome to Nightvale is weird and wonderful   (5/5)

An odd source of joy in times good and bad. The surface darkness is tempered with the bizarely humorous, leaving one with smiles. Also love the recap podcast "Good Morning Nightvale".

I CANT EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE NY HATRID FOR STEVE CARLSBURG HE SHOULD LEAVE NIGHTVALE AND SHOULD GO TO DESSERT BLUFFS NOW how DARE he “dislike” our lovely news channel it is an amazing thing that we have been gifted with STEVE CARLSBURG is the only downside to welcome to nightvale For real tho welcome to nightvale is an amazing podcast! 10/10 recommend

4.5 stars   (4/5)

All in all, excellent. Pacing is good, the absurdist horror/comedy is hilarious, and Cecil Baldwin is an impeccable narrator. The early episodes in particular, before an overarching narrative coalesces, are my favorite. There’s a certain “oh look at how smart and postmodern I am” to some elements that rubs me the wrong way, and I miss the dark whimsy of the earlier episodes; but those are fairly minor quibbles. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll cringe, you’ll say, “What the @&¡%?” Well worth your time.

Playfully Horrid   (5/5)

This podcast dragged me in early on and I have been a big fan for a long time. I find it enjoyable from the dark and unsettling takes it has on the mundane things and people in a desert municipality.

My First Podcast   (5/5)

Introduced me to a world I had no idea existed. Now I have a full library and a daily routine. This show specifically? Super interesting and perfectly draws any skeptics in.

I love this podcast!!   (5/5)

I like it.

Came from the possible spinoff   (5/5)

I recently was kind of frustrated with Netflix, but was browsing around nonetheless. Suddenly, I come across something called “The Kirlian Frequency”. Unfortunately, only 5 episodes were available in English. I remember one of my favorite parts was the narrator’s voice. Could someone look into getting them familiar with this? I’d be incredibly hyped if they started narrating episodes!

Welcome to Night Vale is AMAZING! P.S You have been sentenced indefinite detention in the Abandoned Mineshaft outside of town by the City Council.

Perfectly bizarre   (5/5)

I wish I could find a succinct way to describe this show to people. There's horror, sci fi, comedy...if you're into fiction, there's a little something for everyone! Highly recommend their books, too.

I absolutely love this podcast!!   (5/5)

It’s engaging, and thrilling. As a younger listener it’s amazing how good this is without being inappropriate. I’m glad to give it a five stars rating

I like this podcast.   (5/5)

And I don’t have much more to say.

Don’t like it   (1/5)

I don’t like this podcast

Great   (5/5)

A great and spooky podcast that keeps me listening for a long time.

After going through all the episodes over a few weeks I’ve found myself in the midst of an existential crisis. 10/10 would rethink reality again. Bonus points for getting a straight dude (who has been actively indifferent towards lgbt members) to actually root for two dudes to hook up. I will compare many future podcasts to this one and I’m now going through all your other shows.

Juicy   (5/5)

PARENTS: Preview episodes   (3/5)

A previous reviewer is very happy that they are upfront with LGBTQ+. Three stars for creativity and a super fun idea, however, even in the first episode they are hinting at race (“Black” angel). By the second episode they mention a “white” guy dressing in First Nation garb and it’s clearly mocking him for appropriating the headdress. C’mon guys...can’t there be a show that is just plain FUN, no “agenda”??

You should listen to this!!! It’s SO GOOD!!🤩😍   (5/5)

This podcast is like literally the best podcast I’ve ever listened to, The first time I ever listened I was like what the heck is happening? angels? no mountains? And when I first heard the weather report, I thought it was genius.🤯 It’s certainly the best way to incorporate music with the story! And he always leaves you on a cliffhanger when you go to the weather. And CARLOS,He is just the cutest thing ever.😝 I really recommend this podcast, It’s a fun thing to listen to when I’m bored.

Simply amazing   (5/5)

That’s what it is. Amazing and spectacular. I love this kind of stuff.

Favorite podcast by far   (5/5)

Perfect to binge during quarantine

Goodnight, Night Vale   (5/5)

This is the ONLY way to spend Quarantine from Station Management.

Good Podcast   (4/5)

Really good, but the songs can be really inappropriate.

5 stars   (5/5)

All the way

i absolutely love this show   (5/5)

this is an amazing podcast, but it needs to be published more often. there are so many other shows on Night Vale Presents, but it’s so much other stuff and not enough Welcome to Night Vale. maybe making WTNV a higher priority (maybe once a week?) and putting other shows on more of a back burner would be helpful

The hooded figures have convinced me of the fact that The Dog park is a lie!   (5/5)

I'm currently obsessed with this podcast. It's absurdity soup served in a deadpan of public access radio show. It is delightful. There are many episodes that are standalone and can be listed to in any order. Most episodes are contiguous though so a recommended start is with the "blood/space wars" episodes. Most are approximately 20/25 minutes. Nightvale is a place where all conspiracy theories are true. These are opening quotes from some of the episodes A taste of the humor... Ep1 pilot... “A friendly desert community where the sun is hot and the moon is beautiful and mysterious lights pass overhead while we all pretend to sleep. Welcome to Nightvale.” “The Prison of your own mind is undergoing budget cuts.” “Hot singles in your area are staring into the forest and grinning absently.” “It’s Turtles all the way down, but maaaan, it’s kittens all the way up.”

So ridicules and weird, but awesome!   (5/5)

My favorite line: “...we stand up to the oppression of wheat and wheat by-products” also, I have a request for the weather: “poisoning pidgins in the park” by Tom Larrow. I just hope I’m spelling his name right.

Listen here, Steve Carlsburg,   (5/5)

How dare you put such horrid, retched, blasphemous reviews on such a absolutely, utterly, amazingly, extraordinary podcast! Did you even listen to it? I bet NOT, StEvE cArLsBuRg! All you do is sit in your disgustingly bare home and make conspiracy theories all alone because no one likes you. You’ll find any excuse to hate on any and everything our wonderful little desert town has to offer because that’s just who you are, sTeVe CaRlSbUrG. You claim not to understand what happens in our public radio station that the city council has blessed us with, but who could expect someone as AWFUL as StEvE cArLsBuRg to comprehend anything with your minuscule brain in your loomingly large and incredibly thick head! Shame on YOU, shame on YOUR FAMILY, shame on your PAST, shame on your PRESENT, shame on your FUTURE, and shame on the MONSTER under your BED! I’ll have YOU know, sTeVe CaRlSbUrG that Welcome to Night Vale is an originally creative and intriguingly interesting podcast that brightens the livers of everyone who listens to it! Except, maybe YOU, StEvE cArLsBuRg. Do us all a favor, sTeVe CaRlSbUrG, and move away to Desert Bluffs and leave us appreciative citizens alone!

OMG AMAZING!!!   (5/5)

This podcast is the best, and seriously funny! I love it, even though some parts are creepy, it’s great to know that I didn’t just imagine the world as we know it.

It’s all been said before, in different converging parallel space times   (5/5)

This series is single handily the most amazing thing I’ve listened to, thank you, truly thank you for making this. I can’t tell you enough about how much the story has made me laugh, and cry, and above all else dream. I love this podcast!

This podcast blends conspiracy theories with horror and humor perfectly. I love that it is LGBTQ+ and it’s normal to have the pronouns they them and be in the LGBTQ++++++ community🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 and i cannot put this podcast down. no, really. my phone has stuck to my hand and... i can feel this podcasts thoughts! it says that Koshekkh and his kittens want to visit you! awww!!! Also, the Sheriff’s Secret Police are happy with your desicions. Unless you are named Steve Carlsburg. REMEMBER: ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD.

Started great, not eh   (2/5)

Feels kinda lowkey political in a lot of places. I originally liked the absurdity of the show, but it is now trying to be something else.

The best podcast EVER!   (5/5)

I really like this podcast and it really fun to listen to every day/night it scary a bit but a lot interesting it’s really fun so thats why it’s a five star review

Make more   (5/5)

Please make more episodes please, and as always good night nightvale good night

It Is Good   (5/5)

Love the similarity to The Twilight Zone

Very nice podcast   (5/5)

I would recommend listening to this podcast late at night, as you huddle under your blankets from the vast and endless void outside. Remember, you can’t see the black helicopters after dark. In fact, you can’t see anything at all.

Amazing Podcast   (5/5)

This podcast is an amazing podcast, and I definitely was NOT forced by the Sheriffs Secret Police Force to say that. Edit: Anyone reading, please send help to the Abandoned Mineshaft, as the TV in my cell is not working.

I’m addicted love it   (5/5)

Best podcast ever.   (5/5)

I listen to Welcome to night vale every night. It is a really good podcast. It takes the unseeable and makes it be seen. Like for example there was this one episode where this portal came out of the gym of an elementary school and dinosaurs came out. That is why I listen every night. Great show J.A.B

Darkly hilarious   (5/5)

This podcast is so creative! It’s original and appeals to a dark sense of humor. Check out their merch, they have shirts with their hilarious proverbs on them!

What the hell is this...   (1/5)

Gateway Drug   (5/5)

WTNV was my weird, wild, wonderful introduction to the wacky world of podcasts. It showed me another art form - audio - and got me very interested in radio.

Love this show   (5/5)

It’s so funny and entertaining just please remember, there are no dogs allowed at the dog park

Truly Something Special   (5/5)

I’ve never once listened to a podcast in it’s entirety, neither have I ever been compelled to write a review for literally anything. This is probably the piece of art i’ve had the strongest connection with. something about it makes me feel less alone. thank you

( ^ω^ )   (5/5)

It just is. Listen right now. Do it. Why are you still here? Listen to it already.

Great   (5/5)

I love this podcast and the weather.

From an Enemy   (5/5)

As a resident of Desert Bluffs, I tend to tune into Night Vale stations somewhat often and have taken a liking to this one. I find it's nice to sit at my window and watch the mysterious lights overhead, shining bright over the Night Vale residents below. I must admit, though, Cecil is definitely a better radio host than Kevin and Lauren. Lauren scares me. I hope to move to Night Vale one day. I don't think I care very much about the people here shunning me. They hiss at me in the streets, and their endless black eyes peer into my soul like they know everything about me. Maybe they know everything about me. Maybe they know that I listen to Cecil's radio show. Maybe they know that I plan to move to our enemy town. Maybe they will take me to Radon Canyon, chain me to a chair and tell me to look. Look through an empty doorway leading to the void. Cecil says it isn't all void, though. Mostly void. Partially stars. Mostly void. Partially stars. Mostly void. Partially stars. Maybe it's all void. Maybe. 010120 - Chrissy PS: Cecil, anyone, if you read this, please send help to Radon Canyon

I love this town!   (5/5)

I was traveling along route 800 and needed to make a pitstop when I was...persuaded to become a citizen of this fine town. I am fairly active in my kids school activities and enjoy the lively PTA meetings...not a fan of that Steve Carlsberg. He is often at the meetings. My kid often runs up to me with our robes and begs to go to the dog park. We leave the dog at home of course since they are not allowed there. The waterfront is lovely and sets a real mood when the glow cloud rolls through!! Give this town a chance! You might just find yourself settling down here too!

perfect   (5/5)

carlos will never call you to tell you he loves you. it will not happen. put the phone down and stop blaming the barber.

🤘   (5/5)

I love how even the negative reviews of this show tend to show their admiration for it.

Five stars, would HAIL THE GLOW GLOUD again!   (5/5)

This podcast is some strange, scary, yet beautiful masterpiece involving reality that’s stranger than fiction. We need more depth and space in our tiny little brains to fully understand what makes WtNV tick. And now, the weather.

Amazing but...   (5/5)

Love it! Just a few questions I’d like you to explain: 1. What happened on 9/7/1973 2. Who is the man who is not tall. 3. Who is the man who is not short? 4. What does the man who is the man who not tall and the man who is not tall do???? Plz awnsrer.

All Hail the Glow Cloud   (5/5)

Love this podcast. It’s perfect in every way. Really, this podcast is like the best weird dream ever. You must listen!!!!

Very Good!   (5/5)

I love listening to this podcast! Can’t wait to read about The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In Your Home 😁😁👍🏽 Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor and the whole Night Vale crew are all very talented. Thank you for Night Vale!

Best storytelling ever   (5/5)

If you like your small towns creepy, your characters hilarious and your conspiracy theories true, this is the podcast for you!

This is me   (5/5)

My mom got me ↩️

All Hail   (5/5)

All Hail

Amazing   (5/5)

This is amazing, wish I had access to more night vale like the live shows but I’m a broke college student in a TON of student debt.... I wish the void would make it go away. But thankfully night vale is one escape from the terrifying reality.

Love that   (5/5)

I love you guys rambling so much. This is so wholesome and amazing and I would definitely recommend.

One of my favorite podcasts!   (5/5)

Love Cecil’s voice! Love the stories and everything Nightvale, I’m not all the way caught up yet, I’m on episode 127 but I’ve fallen in love with this podcast so much!

Pødćäšt   (5/5)

I love supernatural stuff but I can’t handle horror- this is the perfect solution. Night Vale is a diverse, beautiful, and absolutely absurd town.

Best podcast ever   (5/5)

This was actually the first podcast I ever listened to and it definitely is the best! Don’t let the weird humor and use of satire distract you, it’s an amazing piece of writing. I hope to one day achieve this level of writing and development myself so this podcast acts like such an inspiration to me. You can escape to a world in which you should never approach hooded figures at the dog park or even dare to enter the library. The characters were thoughtfully made and I love listening to every minute of Cecil speaking. I hope this podcast never ends ❤️

I would risk being murdered by a librarian to live in Night Vale   (5/5)

There is precious little that is new under the sun. I’ve modified this cliche by replacing “nothing” with “precious little that is” because the creators of Night Vale have done it. They created something brand new. There is nothing like Night Vale. Creative genius in audio form.

Not my cup of tea.   (2/5)

Nothing against this podcast, it really is a good podcast, I just kind get myself to find it interesting.

Wonderful!   (5/5)

Funnier than I ever thought possible, and managed to make me laugh more than I ever have before. The plot slips from place to place sometimes, just like life does. Love the proverbs at the ends.

Yes. Just yes.   (5/5)

This podcast is amazing and great for whatever I’m doing! It’s vey interesting with nice characters and weird.. in a good way! Me and all my friends love it!

I tried   (2/5)

I tried to like it, I really did. But it’s just too wierd 🥺

What   (3/5)

Just running through the titles and descriptions proves the podcast is even more lame than it used to be.

I only wish I’d listened earlier!   (5/5)

This is so much fun! I love the characters and the general mix of whimsy and paranoia.

A podcast as black and cold as your heart   (5/5)

This podcast offers a place for listeners to visit in their mind. There is so much creativity, and I love to incorporate some of the ideas into my own life when things feel mundane. Traffic jam? It must be caused by the dragon family making their way to a beachside vacation. This is great to listen to in preparation for Halloween!

Amazing!   (5/5)

Loved the show! Listened to it at least 9 times!

Darkly hilarious   (5/5)

Welcome to Night Vale is hilarious... in a dark way. The weather is kind of annoying, and occasionally some dumb things happen that feel like forced humor, but for the most part, it’s just good mostly-clean fun. Of course, none of it is real, and it is deeply important that you acknowledge it as such since you really don’t need to be re-educated by the city council about what is real, right?

Cool and all, but anti gun.   (1/5)

I recommend the writer educated himself about guns, he seems to not know the first thing. I’m sure it won’t stop me from enjoying the podcast, the anti second amendment stuff is actually kinda funny 🤗 if only because of how dumb it is.

Wish I could give 5 stars!!   (3/5)

I love this podcast SO MUCH, except for one thing...the weather. The songs are absolutely terrible 99% of the time, and most do not fit with the theme of the show. Wish there was a version without the weather.

Love you Cecil!   (5/5)

I've been a fan for years now! My new fave tarot deck is WTNV lol Cecil has an amaxing voice and presence. You really feel like you are sitting there, listening to your favorite radio host.. biting your nails in fear, laughing out loud, worrying over favorite characters... I have even shed a couple of tears for one in particular. A must listen for any HP Lovecraft fan or anyone who dreams of a "different reality"....

Weird and Funny   (5/5)

Welcome to Nightvale is a very H.P. Lovecraft-esque comedy podcast. Rich environment and characters and strange events we do not acknowledge or speak of. The only problem is the episodes play backwards on apple podcast so you have to go to the WTNV page and scroll down to the bottom of available episodes every time.

Review   (5/5)

Other reviewers have said much about this podcast. It has made me appreciate the quality of the actual writers’ writing. Also, bloodstones and human sacrifices and teeth and stuff.

This is truly a funny and strange Town. Also make sure you feed your kids orange slices when they play and make sure to avoid the helicopters with strange birds of prey on them and immediately head back inside until you receive a secret hidden way of telling you the danger has passed.

Best podcast I’ve ever listened to   (5/5)

like home, only weirder   (5/5)

Is it possible to be homesick for a place that you’ve never lived? That never existed? I’ve fallen in love with this town and its citizens.

Hey HEY LOOK AT THIS ONE!!   (5/5)

Old theme song is better. Shouldn’t have changed it in my outspoken and nonexistent opinion.

Love it!   (5/5)

It took me many years to actually begin listening to this. I remember when it first got popular and I kept seeing "Waiting for the bus in the rain" memes on Tumblr XDDD This show deserves all my love and yours. It's creepy, it's cookie, and the books and liveshows are just as wonderful.

Mother Says: __________   (5/5)

Mother always said, “if you don’t have something nice to say, leave a five star review and smile softly as the red and emerald star-gathering vans make their way back up the road.” She also said if I should ever see one of these vehicles on the side of the road with a flat tire, it is my duty—even at risk of limb—to aid a red and emerald van. Star reviews are very important. They must get where they are going. They must get there without delay. I hope it is somewhere nice. Somewhere with something to say.

Quality Educational Programing   (5/5)

The best and most wholesome educational podcast on the net.

It’s amazing. I love it. I cannot explain how good it is. So just. Listen to it. it is AMAZING! Goodnight Nightvale. Goodnight.

AWESOME   (5/5)

AWESOME, just the best podcast I’ve ever listened to. I love listening to Cecil and Carlos’ interactions. SO GOOD.

A Good Podcast that Has Gone on for Too Long   (4/5)

There is just something aout Welcome to Night Vale that makes me always want to come back to it. Im not sure what. It just has this unique feel with its surealism, its love of long philosphical speaches, and its dark humor. Night Vale tells a unique story about a town out in the middle of the dessert where every conspiracy and weird thing is true, through the towns comunity radio show. The citizens of the town are interesting and likeble and the world itself is unique and its filled with instantly quotable moments. But I am going to say now that the farther you listen into it the farther down in quality it goes. It never gets bad but it does get more and more focussed on greater stories. Sometimes they are great and lead to some of the podcasts strongest moments a lot some dont. And recently the podcast seemed to get more unfocussed with its reliance on three parters that feel more like a waste of time than a fun way to tell grander stories. But recently the podcast has gone up a bit in quality but still no where neer it's peek. It has the feel of a story that has been going on for too long. But that happens in almost any long running show and Night Vale is no different. If you are new to fiction podcasts this isn't a bad first podcast to get into the genre. This podcast did that for me quite well through its radio format which makes visualizing the world much easier. But it is not the best that podcast fiction has to offer and thats fine its still a fun time and worth giving a try.

Great at first, but going down   (3/5)

I’ve loved this podcast for a long time. I’ve loved it for years! I have a good deal of merch, too. However, I’ve felt the quality of the podcast diminishing over time. Maybe the writers are getting bored with it but there doesn’t seem to be as much effort put in with either the writing or voice acting. This is still a good podcast, but it used to be great. If you’re new, start from the beginning.

HAIL   (5/5)

All Hail The Glow Cloud, All Hail!   (5/5)

Flip your expectations upside down and sideways and get ready to just have a good listen to a great podcast. After all, mountains are not real and no dogs are allowed in the Dog Park.

Welcome to night vale   (1/5)

Would be a lot better if it was only welcome to nightvale. I get there are more podcast the producers output and they advertise within their episodes of welcome to nightvale but I really don’t want to hear their other podcast when listening to the welcome to nightvale podcast.

Didn’t think I was this weird yet here I am   (5/5)

Well if heard of it before but finally started listening annnnnd here I am already ordering merch

A surprising support through difficulty   (5/5)

It helps me bear the unbearable. A truly great support for me in my struggles to re-bear all of the once bear filled places of the world.

😍😍😍😍   (5/5)

Love this show! It’s a great mix of horror, comedy, and story. The only downside is Cecil being gay with Carlos.

No idea   (4/5)

This podcast hurts my brain but fascinates me at the same time.

👁‍🗨   (5/5)

🔆🔆🔆🔆🔆   (5/5)

All the best parts and none of the worst parts of Lemony Snicket, with a touch of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. If you’re confused about the title of this review, I wanted to do a five stars thing, but I couldn’t find the star emoji, so I made do with a nontraditional star.

I can now understand the trees   (5/5)

They seek vengeance

So funny I spit out my coffee   (5/5)

So weird but so deep. Beloved by me and my preteen daughter alike. Thank you! Mom in Seattle, WA

Love it!   (5/5)

This podcast takes me to a quaint little town where nothing ever happens except every thing

Wonderful   (5/5)

I listen to it every night to fall asleep and I love it. I have listened to each episode at least twice. :P

lol   (5/5)

this is wack yo i just jumped in and it's making complete sence yet none at the same time loving it tho update: it's creeping me out y does it have to be san diego toyota dealer like i may or may not live there 😳...

If I could only take one Podcast to a Desert Isle...   (5/5)

Welcome to Night Vale is at the Top of my All Time FAVE Podcasts! Thankfully I have at least 50 more episodes to catch up. A couple of nights a week at bedtime, I plug in my Airpods to find out the latest happenings in Night Vale. This newscast is way better than mine on channel 10. I am not fond of the Weather but that’s generally when I fall asleep. The Secret Police probably know but it’s a chance I’m willing to take. If you like dry dry (did I mention DRY?) HUMOUR, you will love this Podcast.

New to listening to podcasts!   (5/5)

I just recently started really listening to podcasts! I'm in love with this show after a friend reccomended it to me. I also love Nobody Asked and HellMart podcasts. Fiction for the win!

Loving it   (5/5)

Hardcore fan of early night vale, and thoroughly enjoying the newer stuff too. The latest episode (151, regarding young mr crayton) felt very personal even though I only somewhat related to it. It’s some legitimately good storytelling.

Annoying   (1/5)

Deeply negative in a way where the narrator uses satire to everything and is unable to talk real about anything. Pho intelligent.

So beautiful and relaxing   (5/5)

I’ve been listening to Nightvale for almost a year now and it continues to be one of my favorite podcasts. It’s had its ups and downs in the over 100 episodes I’ve listen to but in general it remains absolutely amazing. It’s so relaxing and wonderfully diverse.

The creepiest/best part of my day   (5/5)

10/10! I can’t get enough Nightvale! It’s the perfect amount of eerie and silly, and it can leave you with goosebumps! This show is so unique! I listen daily! Love it love it love it!

This podcast is stupid   (1/5)

Imagine the unpopular kids in high school that sat together and played D&D and talked bad about the popular kids while secretly wanting to be popular. They thought they were "edgy" and "too sophisticated". Now give them a podcast.

Blah...boring!   (1/5)

I just can’t. I feel dumber just for listening to this drivel. So much of my time that I cannot get back. Ugh! My recommendation is a big NOPE!

I miss the older episodes   (4/5)

I love this podcast, and I do enjoy listening to it. It’s interesting, funny, and delightfully weird. However, l miss the old format of episodes. The newcast feel of the podcast was one of the elements that I liked about the show, and now with the more ethereal episodes, I feel like the show has lost something. I hope little weird episodic Night Vale News storied will come back soon.

ALL HAIL   (5/5)

This is a story about you. You are now reading this review, wondering whether to listen to this podcast. You absolutely should! This order comes directly from the City Council! So, you know, better to obey and live your life while you enjoy this absolutely amazing podcast than to be removed by the Sheriffs Secret Police than to be moved to the mines for re education. Have fun, and remember, ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY GLOW CLOUD.

In Response to Lee Marvin in Episode 146   (5/5)

I've been a long time listener of Night Vale for years, but recently I've been busy and got a few episodes behind. But just today I listened to episode 146, and it is one of the best episodes I've heard from Night Vale in a while. Very well done, my favorites are these dialogue episodes. What an inspiration, keep creating!

Amazing podcast!   (5/5)

Highly recommend if you are a fan of dark humor and engaging stories

Pure joy   (5/5)

This podcast brings to life the fantastically beautiful weirdness of Lovecraft and his legacy in the most incredibly perfect way. Thank you Joseph and Jeffrey this is one of the good ones.

AMAZING   (5/5)

I only started it last night and I already love it!!!

Welcome to nightvale is great!   (5/5)

Welcome to nightvale is great! I honestly have never heard a better podcast but i don't really listen to much but anyways i really reccomended welcome to nightvale its really good

Creepy yet comforting   (5/5)

Night Vale has provided emotionally provoking stories for years. It’s worth listening to every episode. You will laugh. You will cry. You will worship the Smiling God.

This is totally weird and wonderful. Carlos will always have perfect hair. Everything is sponsored by Kellogg’s but remember wheat and wheat by products are VERY dangerous. Stay away from the dog park but if you don’t say hi to the ericas for me. I need to stop though it’s a great show and it’s weird and it’s funny all read in the calm soothing voice of Cecil Baldwin.

Flipping Awesome   (5/5)

I was in the car and being bored when I turned on night vale. Best decision I ever made

Unable to Describe   (5/5)

This show is so weird (in a good way) and hard to is fiction but still the message is applicable to real life situations. The delivery is intoxicating and has an odd humor to it. I quickly found myself binging this series.

Awsome   (5/5)

My brother first introduced me to it and since I have watched every episode multiple times

Woke fiction for the super woke   (2/5)

Fart cloud

Great!   (5/5)

Absolutely holds the potential for greatness. All greatness. Nothing but it. You cannot stop it. Great. Great power, great fear, great, great trembling fear. Good to listen in free time. I know I’ve put my subscription to good use!

today's sponsor   (5/5)

are you listening to the nightvale radio station? should you be listening to it? why would you? is it entrancing? unadvised. what are you doing? why are you reading this? is it out of boredom? out of temptation? unadvised. where are you? is there anyone in there with you? are you sure? there's no one just out of reach, out of memory? unadvised. jokes and references aside, i love the podcast, and you should too.

Writers playing it too safe as of late   (3/5)

I totally understand how shows evolove over time, and while I do greatly enjoy the relationship of Cecil and his husband, the show is starting to run stale. They've started explaining too much, removing the mystery around the town. They've stopped taking bold risks in both their horror and their weird fiction... I mean yes, the Blood Space war was a cool background thing, but I don't think they have ever gotten back to the level of drama that existed within the Strex Corp arc, and the "What's going to happen...?" of the Dog Park arc. I haven't listened to their latest live shows, but I kow the writers have been working on other podcasts. Maybe it's time for them to get some fresh blood on their writing staff to help bolster this podcast back to where it deserves to be. I'm still a huge fan of the show, my critisisms are out of love and hoping the creators will move back to why this show was so massively popular a few years ago.

Lovely   (5/5)

It’s a weird podcast for weird people. Enough said.

Aaaaaaa   (5/5)

Perfect. Nothing more to say.

Best thing since soft meat crowns.   (5/5)

I have no idea how to describe this but I started this on spring break 2018 and binged it since. It took me 4 months to catch up! Though it’s probably the funniest thing ever, I kind of- really freaking do- wish I could live there. And I ship Michelle and Maurine. And Cecil and Carlos 😁. I definitely wish you binge this podcast like I did! Ttyn- talk to you never-. - edit from June 2019- Listened to the first episode for the nth time and fell right back in love. From Me

😐   (3/5)

I love the show but the 5 min of announcements at the beginning is annoying. The “Weather” is also really annoying when you are trying to get into the narrative. Finally could you stop releasing episodes of other shows, if I want to listen to other shows I would listen to other shows. My opinion is shared by many so could you please listen to us?

Impactful and Well Written   (5/5)

Discovered this podcast this year. It is wonderful! Exciting and filled with existential dread. Such a lovable and diverse cast of characters. Cecil is Jewish and queer (like me!) and means the world to me as a character. This show is both creepy and heartwarming and I love it so much

Night vale was the first podcast I ever listened to   (5/5)

Years ago when night vale first started, it was the first podcast I’d ever listened to and the only one for the longest time. I fell off with listening to podcasts but came back and now have a full library of podcasts I rotate through. I have to thank Night vale for that. Every episode of this series is a treat and I’m grateful every day that I decided to check it out. Also now enjoying good morning night vale and other night vale presents podcasts! It’s been so cool watching you guys grow into what you are now. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic   (5/5)

I have been listening to Night Vale for the last three years. The inclusive, amazing, mortifying story that is portrayed has been a blessing to me. I love the lot....lot 37

Perfect hair   (5/5)

I love this podcast so much! Everything is so great! In the beginning I was weirded out by the weather but now I love the weather so much! This was the podcast that got me into podcasts! All the characters are really interesting and Carlos is perfect.

Good overall   (4/5)

Don’t post something just to post something. Some quality control would be nice.

There are almost no words   (5/5)

Mostly because words are simply a construct of our limited human consciousness, but anyway this podcast is amazing!!! I stumbled across the twitter then looked it up and was more then pleasantly surprised with what I’ve been listening to over the course of these last couple months.

The gift that keeps giving   (5/5)

I listen to this show on and off and usually stockpile a critical mass of episodes and listen to them all at once. Listening back through shows how intricacies of the show. Yes it has its bad episodes and boring arcs, but overall it’s always good quality. Glad to be a fan for years.

This is good   (5/5)

This is good

Offsetting in just the right way   (5/5)

It’s like The Twilight Zone where the host is unknowingly trapped within an endless episode.

Phenomenal   (5/5)

Not only is it inclusive in gender and sexuality, it also has an insanely diverse cast! Just found out that Cecil is Jewish (like me) and screed a little. Also there’s a literal five headed dragon. I cannot begin to express the lov- ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD. ALL HAIL.

Thunderously Amazing !   (5/5)

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of listening to this for about a year so far and I still have so much excitement for when the next episode is released. Though there are less than 200 episodes, it is a bit hard to start from the beginning and catch up to recent episodes. Luckily some to most episodes don’t really ask that you need to know things from previous episodes. You can almost start anywhere. Meanwhile I will always try to listen to all 150+ episodes and recommend it to so many. Keep up the work!

Cool   (5/5)

Very cool

Rad 👌🏼   (5/5)

My ex introduced me to this and that’s probably the only thing I got outta that relationship

Ever so witty   (5/5)

I am a latecomer to this one but am in deep now. I originally got it for my 11 year old and then started myself. It’s got some adult themes and some occasional words I hope not to hear her say but it is a great show and we love it. ALL HAIL THE GLOWCLOUD!

So fantastic!   (5/5)

I’m so grateful for Joseph and Jeffrey and Cecil and everyone involved in making this glorious podcast. The storyline is wonderfully strange, the voice actors are perfect, and the characters are diverse and original and I love every single one of them. Much love for this podcast!!

COOL!   (5/5)

thise helppes meh slep

Hilariously Imaginative   (5/5)

Absolutely incredible   (5/5)

I just started this podcast after years of my friends begging me to listen to it and I have to admit I’m extremely impressed. It is well written, soothing, fun and interesting. I promise you that you will not get bored once while listening to this podcast. I love the humor mixed with suspenseful undertones. Overall and really well done and unique podcast!!

Thank you!   (5/5)

I have been looking for this podcast for so long! Thank you so much, I am enjoying every moment!

:)   (5/5)

Spooky but not too scary. I used to listen to this podcast my freshman year of college when I was homesick and it made me feel like everything was alright

The Light-Hearted Touch is Everything   (5/5)

I originally found recordings on Youtube and then had to come hunt the podcast down on iTunes so I could catch every episode. I haven't listened to everything yet (there are so many episodes!) but I'm working my way through and loving it. The scripted fictional podcast space has a ton of supernatural/sci-fi stories, and what makes Night Vale unique is the tongue-in-cheek, matter-of-fact storytelling that makes it fun and funny. You really can jump in at any point, but if you listen to a bunch of consecutive episodes you start to pick up threads that run through the series.

All hail the Glowcloud   (5/5)

Totally not addictive /s   (5/5)

I discovered this podcast in the summer of 2018 and binged it until I got caught up. I’m so invested in this story, like no other. Cecil + Carlos, if they aren’t together, then love doesn’t exist 😭 I am emotionally attached to every character in this podcast and if you listen, you will be too!

Hit or Miss   (4/5)

Amazingly well-written show. I’ve been a fan since the beginning, but as with anything that runs for over 140 episodes, many episodes and story arcs are hit or miss. There are dozens of amazing episodes, dozens of good episodes, a lot of okay episodes, and a few that just weren’t to my liking.

Amazing music choice   (5/5)

The weather reports have been absolutely boppin’ lately!

Still Excellent   (5/5)

I’ve been listening for years, and am just now getting around to writing a review. But the show is still as excellent as when I first got hooked on Night Vale! Fantastic writing, acting, and production quality. Big ups to Jeffery and Joseph for keeping it weird.

Used to be better   (3/5)

The first 40-50 episodes were very engaging, funny, and creepy. Since then, it’s been getting stale for me.

Love   (5/5)

Great podcast! I’ve also seen a live show at NJPAC, great performance! I really appreciate the art & creativity that’s presented.A must listen podcast and must see live show!

Not addictive   (5/5)

Do not listen to this podcast, it is not additive in any way and will most certainly not make you question your existence and every decision you have made in your life up to this point. If you even exist.

Goodnight nightvale   (5/5)

I do not comprehend the yellow helicopters could someone please ask them to stop stealing my kids? Also I will be voting for the faceless old woman, regardless of the fact that my vote does not count

Eyedea   (5/5)

Cryptic, creepy, amazing.

😵   (5/5)

😁🤭😵...🥺😭😭😭 But but a scientist is suppose to always be fine...

Best podcast I’ve ever listened to 🌚🌚🌚   (5/5)

I love the theme music but it’s also so creepy I just can’t stop listening to it

This podcast holds a special place in my heart.   (5/5)

WTNV was my first podcast and my first audiodrama. I still remember listening to it for the first time in my kitchen at night with the windows open in summer. There's no way to describe the love you wind up feeling for this impossible town and it's beautiful citizens.

Night Vale is a cool place   (5/5)

I love listening to this show. I’ll save up a few episodes and listen back to back. Good public radio style creepy town and I like the music between the show because it sounds just like a college radio would. Also, I like a lot of those songs.

The best   (4/5)

Welcome to night vale is pretty good, a really entertaining podcast for anyone who has taste. Plus, all hail the glow cloud, all hail.

Głøw čłøüd   (5/5)

Pestilence. Sores. All Hail the gl ow clo u d

Thank you Night Vale   (5/5)

The weather is the best, along with the plot. This podcast continues to impress. The books are cool too.

All hail the Glow Cloud.   (5/5)

That is all.

Great concept   (4/5)

Super creative, but the delivery drags a little. At least as far as the first season goes. Best if listened to on 1.5 speed.

Fun show   (4/5)

The worst thing about the whole production is the weather segment.

I hate how cecil says barista   (5/5)

This is 100% my favorite podcast. I started listening to it when I was 13 (18 now) and it helped me accept that I’m gay. I started feeling comfortable with my sexuality, and honestly? Night Vale’s acceptance of Cecil (and a LOT of other citizens) made me start accepting myself. I have Night Vale to thank for my girlfriend, haha. Thanks for the confidence you guys gave me. However, I hate how Cecil says barista. So much. I need him to say it bah-ree-stah or I will cry. Please, good sir, BAH-REE-STAH. I love you and everything you do and who you are as a person, but god. God. It’s not bewrista. Please. Anyways, 5 stars. TL;DR I’m super gay thanks to NV and I want to die every time Cecil says barista.

🐛   (5/5)

listening to this podcast is anything but a boondoggle. in all honesty, I wish I could drink orange milk and tell dirty jokes about the moon, or maybe even walk by the dog park in fear that hooded figures will abduct me. or going to arby’s and seeing a mighty glow cloud hovering above. sadly, that is not our reality, but nightvale. a delicious podcast about the weird phenomena that happens in nightvale. and now, the weather.

WEIRDO’S HUB   (5/5)

This sometimes deep, always exciting Podcast is truly one of a kind and always something I look forward to listening to. It’s perfect for before bed, during morning commutes, and everything in between.

Perfect   (5/5)

I honestly think that’s all I need to say

Great for writers and creatives   (5/5)

Love this podcast! My sister and I listen to it all of the time. It really helps me write too.

cecil???   (5/5)

why does cecil know about fanfiction.

Blackout 🖤   (5/5)

I love Blackout! Very cool Podcast 😈❤️

THUS PODCAST IS FIRE!! Now I personally don’t listen to podcasts but welcome to Night Vale is one that I really love it gave me goosebumps some times and I would stay awake fantasizing what it would be like to live in Night Vale! If you haven’t listened to this...I don’t know what your doing! listen to this right now!!🔥💯👌

Words   (5/5)

I’m speechless. As if some weird energy is keeping me from speaking. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the radio towers giving a signal so powerful, but silent noise that keeps my voice from traveling to this review. Hmmm....I’m going to build on this. Thanks for the inspiration and great stories guys!!!

All Over The Place Yet One Story   (5/5)

This podcast really gets my creativity going. At first it seems like nonsense, but then you slowly realize all the events are connected, and it comes together into a full story. I cannot tell you how many times I laughed aloud listening to something in this podcast, but whenever my friends asked me to explain it, I never could without going into a full recount of this podcast without making me sound insane. Nightvale is a strange place and I love listening to the bizarre news so much more exciting and less depressing then news in our reality.

👁👁👁👀👁👁   (5/5)

A friendly desert community   (5/5)

Welcome To Night Vale is honestly one of the best pieces of media I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying in my lifetime. It has a way of transporting you to this place outside the realms of possibility, and even further - making you feel like you belong there. It’s a friendly desert community, and if it encapsulates you the way it did me, then it’s a town that calls to you like a home. With an every expanding world, and an amazing growing cast of characters Welcome to Night Vale is the fiction podcast you’ve been looking for. A melting pot of representation that allows your imagination to ride shotgun.

Started Strong, Gone on Too Long   (2/5)

I really like Welcome to Night Vale when it started. I even went to live shows and bought their merchandise. At this point it feels like it’s dragging on and I’m no longer into it.

Do not ask   (5/5)

A great podcast if you enjoy being followed by hooded figures, living with heavenly beings, and hearing your own story live over the radio as you are pursued by a man that is not tall and a man that is not short. Cecil is wonderful.

Great   (5/5)

I love this podcast because it is so dark and quirky and mysterious. I like to fall asleep to it. I also enjoy that you can watch episodes in any order that you want. There really is nothing else like it.

👌👌👌   (5/5)

I have listened to this podcast for years and it never fails to make my better.

Welcome to the review   (5/5)

I’m honestly mad at myself that it took so long for me to write a review when I’ve been listening (and loving) since the start! Keep it up, and stay weird!

Somthing you can never forget   (5/5)

Back when the show began, it became a comfort for jr high me and continued into high school. Conveniently enough, my senior quote was a quote from this show because as weird as this show gets, it’s amazingly weird and i recommend it to all who are looking for podcasts. Just two important rules to remember, don’t enter the dog park and Angels are kinda real.

Neat!   (5/5)

I adore this podcast, and the world it inhabits.

Honestly what a show   (5/5)

👍   (5/5)

This is the best thing on existence.

Yo! This is the BEST podcast I’ve ever heard! It’s creepy, funny, and LGBTQ-friendly. I love it and I’ve gotten over fears with this! I also love the theme songs and the weather. It’s also really easy to listen to because each episode is a separate story, but they make a connected story. Not much else to say except that pain is just pain entering the body. Bye!

well this is annoying   (4/5)

I love Night Vale but the episodes play backwards

Love this so much.   (5/5)

I’m actually terrified of Kevin. Before I heard the blood.

👌🔪🌻🔭👉😎😤👏   (5/5)

In the beginning I was being forced into this podcast by some mysterious creature named Erica. Well, Erica was mysterious at the time. Now I know that Erica was one of the many other Erica-named angels. Anyways, I was reluctant at first, but once the power of the almighty glow cloALL HAILud reached me, I understood. Without the help of Cecil Palmer’s relaxing voice, I would have gone into the dog park. I would have never known my double would come. There were so many things I didn’t know then that I know now. I thank Erica, the glow clALL HAILoud, and Cecil. What year is it?

A wholesome town full of cosmic horror   (5/5)

I have to admit, I'm shamefully late in getting into WTNV. I think it was just the sheer number of episodes that I found daunting. My fears were completely unfounded. Even though there are some storylines that weave through the episodes, it's ok to skip around here and there. Also, as someone who has two weird fluffy roommates that poop in boxes, I love Khoshekh, the radio station cat that hovers four feet above the floor in the men's bathroom. And kind of spoiler alert, I almost jumped out of my chair in glee at the line "He is holding a cat" in the Renovations episode. Anyway, in these trying times, it's nice to have a bit of escapism, especially of the wholesome, heartwarming variety. There are so many good tidbits in the proverbs and many of the things Cecil says in his soothing, mellifluous voice.

This is great   (5/5)

Gives me shivers. An awesome podcast that must be listened to at night.

I owe so much to this amazing podcast!   (5/5)

This is the podcast that introduced me to the podcasting world and changed my life for the better. I discovered it in a rather dark, rough time in my life and it seriously made everything so much better. From here, I discovered so many other absolutely amazing podcasts, and now I'm planning out my own! This is seriously one of the best out there and I hope it has many, MANY years to come!

IT’S STREET CLEANING DAY!!!!!!!!   (5/5)

Welcome to Nightvale! Where lights above our heads is normal and the sky is a floating piece of wood above our heads, and the secret police are mind-scanning the entire town for those vile miscreants who keep dreaming of horses! I didn’t know if I would like it at first, (my sister got me into it), but when I heard about the ALMIGHTY GLOW CLOUD raining down dead animals on the oblivious town, and about the nice fella know as Hiram McDaniels the 5-headed Dragon who goes by the name of Frank Chen (insurance salesman!) I was hooked, and you will be too! This podcast is fun and creepy and absolutely worth taking the time to listen to!

The usual   (5/5)

Please listen

Irritating   (1/5)

Annoying and repetitive

xxx   (5/5)

Clouds are fluffy

My favorite podcast by far   (5/5)

Nightvale got me into my newish podcast obsession. I’ve been listening since the beginning, followed the subplot and even read the books. Let’s just say I’m a die hard Nightvale fan. I’ve recommended it to all my friends, and after listening to the first episode they always give me all look like “why do you listen to this?”. I do because i love it and it reflects every day life. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. It is highly political and dark. The world of nightvale grows as you listen, so give it a chance.

This Podcast Changed My Life   (5/5)

I’ll never look at the dog park the same way again... or at all, for that matter.

A Matter Of Taste   (5/5)

If you like weird and vaguely ominous storytelling along the lines of HP Lovecraft, an occasional dash of humor, wildly varied indie music, and a heaping cup of LGBT+ representation, this is the podcast for you. If you don’t like that sort of thing, you’re not going to like this podcast. It’s as simple as that. Luckily for the lovely folks at WTNV, it seems like the majority (including myself) are into that.

Fantastic   (5/5)

What I’ve been looking for and, much to my surprise, where I have always been.

Great!   (5/5)

I love it!

Who farted?   (1/5)

Yes. That was supposed to be a joke. Not funny. By all means keep listening if you want to investigate where the stench is originating from.

full hooah and hooyah   (5/5)

i cant give this a 100-star, so i gave it a 5-star dun make a lot of sense but thats what makes it full hooah

All Hail the Glow Cloud   (5/5)

A fantastic story and setting; gorgeous.

Great podcast   (5/5)

This is a really good podcast you should listen to!

Amazing   (5/5)

Best podcast ever

Long time listener, first time caller   (5/5)

I’ve been listening to this show for six years, and it surprises and delights me every time. It was one of the first stories with gay main characters who got a happy ending, and that alone filled me with hope, There is nothing like falling asleep, contemplating the void and listening to Cecil Baldwin’s astounding voice acting. Thank you, Night Vale. Thank you.

brilliant   (5/5)

i absolutely love wtnv. it is such a brilliant and beautiful work of art. truly magnificent. this ground braking podcast has helped me through so much, i cannot put into words the magic i feel every time i listen to it. the first time i listened to it i felt like my brain had been removed from my body, and put into this mysterious town. i felt like i wasn’t alone in my weird, deep, thoughts. listening to welcome to nightvale, i feel my own imagination being played out in front of me. i relate to this podcast on such a deeply emotional level; thank you. thank you to everyone who helps make nightvale come to life. thank you to everyone who donated money to this podcast. this is a triumphant podcast and i’m so in love with it. i nose dived into nightvale and i don’t plan on leaving, that is, unless the sheriffs secret police take me away. love isn’t even a strong enough word to describe nightvale. there is nothing like this podcast. i wish i could rate it a million stars rather than five. thank you a hundred times again. brilliant. just brilliant.

Love this   (5/5)

The writing is amazingly creative and it does weird things to my dreams and jumpscares me in my sleep so that’s really cool and also the interns are everything

Noice   (5/5)

Nicely arranged packs of hungry irrationality

Interesting?   (5/5)

Thats all.

Love It   (5/5)

Great Podcast

absurd,poetic,comedic   (5/5)

Clever conceit, great writing like lake Woebegone written by Ionesco, theatre of the absurd with a touch of dark and am continually surprised bu it.

Hilarious Absurdity   (5/5)

This is one of the wackiest podcasts I’ve ever jammed in my ears. It’s like NPR for the Twilight Zone. There aren’t a whole lot of things the balance eldritch horror and comedy these days.

Better than the daily news   (5/5)

Thank you

My first podcast   (5/5)

I never liked any podcast before. This process proved me wrong and I've been into them for years now. Great quality, prenominal stories, amazing voices, and a supportive and creative community. Thank you

Classic   (5/5)

The original podcast that brought me into the possibility of audio theatre. Thank you, Night Vale! May many moons bleed for you!

Not only does this make my sleep paralysis it....   (5/5)

This makes my sleep paralysis very enjoyable it also makes me more paranoid while walking home

<~~>   (5/5)

unfortunately, i am legally obligated to say no more than "shockingly original." however, the true nature of Nightvale is beyond that inept description. trust me. trust Hiram McWilliams. Trust Nightvale.

Best. Podcast. Ever.   (5/5)

I’m obsessed with Night Vale. It’s one of the only shows I anxiously await new episodes of. The world is so well thought out, the subtle jokes are brilliant, and the writing is excellent. Even if you’re not a fan of fiction podcasts, this one will change your mind.

Five stars   (5/5)

Would suffer sentient tumors again

Help me   (5/5)

I don’t know what happening. I don’t know where I am- there’s a man here, neither short nor tall, neither fat nor thin, and I think he’s looking at me. I...I think he’s speaking. Welcome to Nightvale?

Love This So Freaking Much   (5/5)

Cecil and Carlos’s relationship is just one of the many things that make this podcast amazing! I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH IM ACTUALLY CRYING TEARS OF JOY!! MY TEACHER AND CLASSMATES ARE LOOKING AT ME WEIRDLY, BuT i DoNt CaRe

Fantastic, interesting and overall a great listen   (5/5)

I’ve been listening to wtnv for about 2 years now and I can not wait for each episode to come out. They are so interesting and fun to listen to. If you enjoy spooky you’ll love this podcast.

Listen to it. Now.   (5/5)

I can’t even explain how much I love this podcast. It’s weird, funny, and is a kind of scary that really gets to you. And I don’t mean to be a huge fangirl or anything but HOLY CRAP CECILOS AMIRIGHT

Full Attention Necessary   (5/5)

Gorgeous production, incredible acting, and a ridiculously well written plot that keeps you thinking constantly. Not a “play in the background” podcast, full attention necessary.

AMAZING   (5/5)

I love this podcast soooo much. There is nothing else to say. Nothing. Do didn’t say anything did you? Huh? Huh? (Beware station management and the old oak doors.)

Very good   (3/5)

Great narrator, good stories and very interesting ideas. The only large issue are the highly annoying advertisements before each episode and the very bad music played during the weather section. This podcast makes me extremely happy the fast forward function exists.

Original and Compelling   (5/5)

I’m not a podcast person. In fact, I’m still not, really, but WTNV brings me the greatest of joy. I love the related-but-separate stories and that it’s easy to bring in new listeners. I love the homages to classic horror and radio drama while still feeling fresh. And I love Cecil’s vocal abilities.

Mewtew   (5/5)

This Is The Greatest Podcast Ever .

A Little Town   (5/5)

If you need to escape, this station is perfect. It will keep you safe from helicopters with swooping birds of prey and everyone else in between, except Carlos’ perfect hair.

👍🏻   (5/5)

i great podcast will recommend

The beautiful abyss   (5/5)

This podcast lets me make peace with my existential dread. The diversity in the cast and weather is next level. I laugh. I cry. All hail.

Fantastic   (5/5)

Great, very creative podcast. Thanks.

This podcast is as perfect as Carlos’s hair, and as beautiful as the glow clouds twinkling colors. ALL HAIL!!!!!

amazing   (5/5)

i love since fiction, this is an amazing podcast. it also has some amazing books

Love the Podcast, hate the ads   (4/5)

Sincerely amazing podcast but really, we don’t need 4-6 mins of advertising EVERY episode. Only thing wrong with this show though.

nightvlae forever   (5/5)

from it's bezar take on talk radio to how dramatic and climatic it seems to be geting i don't think i'm gonna stop listening anytime soon :)

How does this have such great reviews?   (1/5)

I listened to two episodes but I just can’t get into it. The music is awful and it’s just not that funny.

All hail   (5/5)

The mighty Glow Cloud

Great podcast for those who like it   (4/5)

The reason this podcast has such good reviews is that if you don’t like it, you stop listening to it after the first episode. That is not to say that it is not an amazing podcast, though. Perhaps not the best for you children, but for teens and above is very entertaining.

Beautifully Gay   (5/5)

This is a great show for representation. I love Carlos and Cecil.

Yiggity yo   (5/5)

I love this podcast! It has an amazing storyline and Cecil’s voice isn’t a voice that makes it so that I can’t fall asleep, like the McElroy’s. There should be an episode where Cecil rickrolls everyone.

AWESOME!   (5/5)

This is a masterpiece of a podcast Mua! Amazing!

It's great   (5/5)

I used to think that podcasts were stupid and only weirdos listened to them. Then my coworker told me about this one and it really changed my mind. This show is so good. There's a lot going on, and honestly, I'm not that good at remembering plot details from previous episodes from any show/podcast/book, but luckily this podcast is easy to follow no matter how much of the previous episdoes you remember.

You will like it   (5/5)

You will have questions. There won’t be many answers. Some answers will simply give you more questions. But you will not mind the questions. You will not mind the lack of answers. You will enjoy this. You will.

Still the best   (5/5)

This is the first podcast I ever subscribed to and it’s still my favorite. I’ve lost count of how many seasons there are and the writing and voice acting is still as amazing now as it was the first episode.

Wonderful   (5/5)

A podcast I can’t help but keep coming back to!! Welcome to Nightvale is such a unique take on the way the real world would be if things we see in typical book and movie troupes were real, plus more. The man behind the voice of Cecil Baldwin, our beloved speaker, has the perfect voice for this, too! When listening, just remember to sit back, ignore the angel next to you, and to hail the glow cloud . . .

A Classic   (5/5)

A+ town, A+ public radio. Check out for the beautiful hair on the beautiful scientist

Good start/ bad finish   (3/5)

I really liked this show when it started, it had a great premise and eventually evolved to have a story with interesting people but as the years went by it changed into something pointless. No longer was it about a nighttime radio news show about a small town with weird events like a tinny village of tiny people or a glowing cloud raining dead animals, it started to waste the runtime of the show with the host just saying absolute nonsense that had nothing to do with the daily events of the town. I still recommend it but only up till you can take it like me

poorly written, boring,monotone narrator   (1/5)

poorly written, boring,monotone narrator

Awesome   (5/5)

This is such an amazing podcast and I really like it.

Great!   (5/5)

I love this podcast my mom showed me it and I’ve loved it ever since

👍   (5/5)

I’m so glad they brought the old theme song back and I’m always excited to hear the next episode! I wish we got an episode every week!

👌   (5/5)

I love it!!! Super funny and unique 💛

Timeless yet Haunted Nonetheless   (5/5)

This is the first podcast that I ever listened to. I remember first becoming obsessed in middle school, and while I cringe at most of my past obsessions, Night Vale stands the test of time! With innovative, beautiful writing, and a dedicated and emotive cast, you can't go wrong. Keep Night Vale Weird!

Funny, touching, exciting, horrifying, and above all entertaining!   (5/5)

What could be better than a sci-fi/fantasy/horror/comedy story about the strangest place you’ve never heard of? I love how Cecil presents these bizarre happenings as though they are just a normal part of daily life. I suppose in Night Vale, they are!

The Boy Who Wanted to Know Everything   (2/5)

I do not get this podcast. Not to say I don’t like it, but—the podcast needs to change the description of itself. It states that you could pick up on the current episode and catch on pretty quickly, which isn’t really true. I chose “Bedtime Story”, which was the next to last most recent podcast at the time. Whew! It was barely tolerable, I felt like I was in a freshman creative writing seminar. It’s just off from what you would expect. I’ve hear true crime listeners sing the praises of this podcast for a long time, so I finally heard the last praise and decided to give it a try. When I saw it was a comedy podcast, I though hm, maybe it falls into the MFM/LPOTL category of irreverent gloomy stuff, and I LOVE being irreverent. Not so, it’s more like a fable. Which, is hyper reverent by nature. The episode I listened to was a deep voiced man telling a story about “a boy” (no names ever, cuz it’s a fable of course!) who wanted to know everything. I got the fable, I got the point of the fable, but I did not understand why my Apple podcasts app was giving me fables for children (or even fable for adults; who needs ‘em?) I was brought here by many podcast listeners telling me how great this show was, and I believed them. But, the fact that he show description says “start anywhere and you’ll get it,” but then I did not get it? Now that just makes me feel stupid and ticks me right off. No, I didn’t get it. I didn’t get the point of patronizing listeners with a tale about some kid. I didn’t get crime, I didn’t get a laugh, I didn’t get anything back out of my time for listening. I did, however, get my dishes done while listening.

Won’t stop blowing my mind   (5/5)

I spent years listening to nightvale. Now listening through for the ninth time as of 9-7-18. The way the story has changed my life and inspired me to use writing as a coping mechanism with life. Also episode 133 HOW YOU DO THAT Telly ending is the best

I adore listening   (5/5)

The first thing about Welcome to Nightvale you'll notice and immediately fall in love with is Cecil Baldwin's calm, soothing voice. He almost lulls you into a trance as you listen to him talk about the town of Nightvale and all the events happening therein. The creep factor is just under the surface with enough commonplace to keep you grounded. A very Lovecraftian feel to the story. I like to put this on when I can't sleep at night and let the episodes play.

Just started and love it   (5/5)

It’s spooky

A creepy, hilarious, one of a kind podcast!   (5/5)

This podcast is SO unique and creative. I’ve never been a podcast listener, but this one absolutely won me over! You fall in love with the characters and with this quirky little town, and you can’t help but laugh at the incredibly creative lines, or feel incredibly and pleasantly disturbed by the strange and almost too true for comfort comments. Cecil is otherworldly as the main character, and the cast and writers as a whole create the most amazing experience! Would recommend to all.

There’s nothing else like this   (5/5)

This is such a unique podcast. I’m completely immersed into Nightvale when I listen. And the stories have great continuity!

Two steps to the left from your everyday life   (5/5)

Careful, listeners. A vague yet menacing government agency, hooded figures, the forbidden dog park, and the sheriff’s secret police all await you in the quiet town of Nightvale. You will not find what you expect, even if you expect the unexpected, as expectations are determined by personal memories and experiences.

Huge fan!!   (5/5)

Incredible podcast! It's freaky and absolutely amazing.

Just wasn’t my thing   (1/5)

Haven’t really been able to get into it, though I’ve tried.

Something is missing   (2/5)

Perhaps I was expecting something a bit creepier, but the tone falls flat with me. The show is not much more than a series of one-liners delivered in a Gomez Adams deadpan. No plot per se, the sound mixing is distracting and crowded, and the narrator isn’t very narrative.

And I fell in love instantly...   (5/5)

Best podcast ever. Even named my hat after Carlos, because it's perfect in every way

Awesome!!!   (5/5)

Amazing Surreal Show   (5/5)

I started this show, knowing nothing, and I was so surprised by how amazing it is. It started with so many surreal things and the strict continuity really ties this show together. It’s something that is great to listen to while doing housework.

YES!! TEN OUT OF TEN   (5/5)

Guys, listen to it. If you ever have even a second of spare time, listen to it. Take a stranger’s advice and do it. You won’t regret it, I promise. This is by far the best podcast I’ve ever listened to, and it’s the first review that I’ve like, written, so I mean. It’s weird, it’s funny, it’s (almost) everything you need in life. I’m so glad my friend recommended it to me, and to him and the creators of this, I thank you

Love to the fullest   (5/5)

It’s the best and only podcast that i have listened to continuously for the last three and a half years that i can listen to over and over again without getting bored of it. It’s also the only podcast that makes me giggle in certain ways and i listen to it right before bed or as i’m falling asleep. Welcome To Nightvale is simply the full package and more

Amazing   (5/5)

Not only is this podcast amazing, their books, “Welcome to Nightvale” and “It Devours” (including characters from their podcast) are a delightful, tantalizing read. This show is a must!!

Awesome Show!!   (5/5)

The storytelling is amazing! The creators and actors do an amazing job of making you feel like you are a part of Night Vale. Sometimes you get normal town news, and other times you get a house that does/doesn’t exist or a five-headed dragon running for mayor. Whatever the situation, the writers begin with a normal idea and then surprise you with a twist that makes you laugh, laugh until you cry, or just cry. I recommend this show to all of my friends and love listening to it!

Night vale   (5/5)

AWESOME PODCAST. Must have read or listen should I say. So creepy and relaxing at the same time

It doesn't want you to like it.   (1/5)

I am more than happy to oblige. When your episode is only 25min long, but you have nearly three minutes of ads and announcements to intro the show, and another couple minutes of a dumb song in the middle, that's like making a sandwich with one loaf of bread on top, a rancid slice of meat in the middle, no bread on the bottom, but then you expect everyone to compliment you on the tomato. I can't get into the story because the creators go out of their way to keep me from doing so. It really seems as if the actual content of the show is an after-thought. I grew up in the South West where weird programming thrives on the radio late at night and Night Vale is close, but too precious and hipster-self-important to be good. It's just dumb. Don't bother until they can figure out how to pull their heads out of their butts and make a proper show.

My 72 year old father is a fan   (5/5)

I am a complete late-comer to the Nightvale community (now writing this review in July of 2018) but now I am absolutely invested in dinosaur attacks, hooded figures, Carlos’ hair, and the creatures behind the door to station management’s office. I’ve taken to playing episodes while cooking dinner and my 72 year old father, who still has a flip phone and did not quite understand what a podcast is, has asked me to “install it” on his computer. This is nothing short of a miracle where my exceedingly outdated parent is concerned. Please listen to and continue to support this completely abnormal and somehow mundane place we all live in in our minds. I know I will.

New broadcasts lacking   (1/5)

I have loved and followed the NightVale podcasts from episode 1 and don’t understand the need for them to clog this particular channel with constant advertising for shows I do not care about or even moderately enjoy. Bring back Cecile and the library and the hooded figures please and cut out the “new shows” from this channel. We want the old. We subscribed to the old. Give us our favorite podcast back please.

Amazing   (5/5)

I love how this is soothing and it passes the time.

My favorite podcast   (5/5)

It’s not for everyone but if you like mysteries clever humor and charming fiction listen to the first 10 episodes At least and start from the beginning because there’s lots of inside jokes and callbacks to previous episodes.

Sleep Time   (5/5)

After hearing a lot of really great things about this podcast, I decided to give it a listen driving home from work. Unfortunately it nearly caused me to crash as I almost instantly started falling asleep. It turns out Cecil Palmer's voice is so unbearably calming I can't stay awake for more than five minutes. I still haven't been able to listen to the podcast, but it makes a wonderful sleep aide I use every night. This podcast has single handedly fixed my sleeping issues. One day though I hope I'll be able to stay awake and hear the story, the first five minutes are always interesting.

Unique, and a great escape from reality.   (5/5)

Welcome to Night Vale is charmingly weird, in a way that may seem mildly creepy at first, but will eventually grow to be humorous and familiar. There are some very interesting plots and arcs, and all of the characters are very diverse.

Dude, this show is awesome.   (5/5)

‘Title’ line pretty much sums up my review.

A message from City Council.   (5/5)

Night Vale City Council is happy, or at least here, to tell you about the podcast Welcome to Night Vale! 5 out of 5 Hooded Figures agree Welcome to Night Vale is the best podcast out there! At least, we think they agree, given that we cannot go to the dog park and ask them, because we must never go to the dog park. Our very own two headed football player says that both of his heads are big fans, and fight over who gets to listen, as they only have one pair of headphones. Visiting scientist and all around heartthrob Carlos is a frequent listener, and occasional subject of the show. Old Woman Josie reports that the Angels living in her home never miss an episode! She also reports that the Angels most definitely do not exist. The city council would like to take this moment to remind you that the Angels do not actually exist, but if they did, they would most definitely listen to Welcome to Night Vale. To listen to Welcome to Night Vale, just click the SUBSCRIBE button, or simply yell the “funnel cake” into the air vent in your ceiling.

Weird, I don’t get it   (3/5)

Strange podcast. Not sure of the humor used..must be beyond me.

Unexpectedly moving.   (5/5)

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll wonder why such a strange show is pulling such emotions out of you.

I didn’t think of a title   (5/5)

Journalism you can trust about things that make no sense.

I’m in love   (5/5)

Cecilos for life also perfect voice actors and awesome acting

Love it!   (5/5)

Love the stories and characters!

Listen to it   (5/5)

The best heckin podcast I have ever heard

😄   (5/5)

Scary ,funny ,confusing,😱awsom

Five years later...I found it!   (5/5)

I love this podcast, my kids love this podcast, I am so sad I didn't know about this from five years ago when it started but I'll catch up eventually. My very first podcast and so good it made me search for more. There are so many wonderful stories out there and this is a wonderful start to all of them. Thank you to everyone who produces this because it's a thing of beauty. I'd rename my cat Khoshekh but it's so much more difficult than his name now (Cheese) and I'm too lazy. But if I wasn't lazy, I'd totally do that because I love this podcast.

The best ever   (5/5)

I listened all the way through my first time by just listen to it when I ran. As long as you don’t scare easily then you’ll be fine:) I have re-listened to this podcast so many times, I have lost count. I’ve listened to so many different podcast but I come back to this one every time, keep on making a great podcast to everyone at welcome to night vale👍🏼

Nigh Vale is Home   (5/5)

This show has given me a place to feel at home with a lot of creepy weird and awesome fans and a great fan community. This isn't unwarrented fandom either. Night Vale draws you in from the begining with it's "everything is fine, this is all normal to us" feel and you really want to know what's going on. It starts off slow but even the first few episodes are a treat (plus they introduce a lot of running jokes so it's worth starting from the begining or at least going back after a while). All of the voice actors do such a great job, and the writing is poetic while still being creepy and odd. There are so many episodes I've listened to that have left me thinking for a long while. I love the weather segments as well (you'll see why if you choose to listen). All in all this is one of my favorite audio shows and the first show I binged to catch up on and still listen to regularly.

Pitifully amusing   (5/5)

I find it very entertaining to watch Cecil struggle to understand his dismal little town, lacking both order and efficiency. Here in Desert Bluffs I rule the radio with an iron fist, crushing rebellion and worshipping the Smiling God. I look forward to a time where we can rule together and unite our towns. There is so, so much I could teach him. But until then I enjoy myself by watching Cecil Gershwin Palmer make a fool of himself, while I, Kevin, rise to greater power and strength.

Daily listening show   (5/5)

I listen to the soothing stories relayed by Cecil every night. I get through about 3 before falling to sleep. I have insomnia, and the only thing to get me back to sleep is another episode. I am addicted to the awesome story arcs and great relationships.

This is the best podcast ever (Especially because is about my home town) 5 stars

An eternal delight   (5/5)

Night Vale is something special-- it is a fantastically told series (with a killer format!) that is hilarious, poignant, and terrifying, all at once. I try to get everybody I know to listen to it.

Welcome to Night Vale is the best!!   (5/5)

My best friend got me into Welcome to Night Vale. Since I started listening to this podcast, it’s all my friends and I talk about. I just love Cecil and Carlos. 10/10 hands down best podcast. Weeoo!!!

One of the best things I've ever heard   (5/5)

I first came across Nightvale at the end of 2013 thanks to a close friend. admittedly I wasn't hooked at first. I remember sitting in my kitchen, listening to the first couple episodes while studying for a biochem final, and being super weirded out at first, but not in a bad way. It was incredibly distracting to my studying, because it was so diiferent from anything I'd ever heard before. But soon, I found myself absolutely hooked. The non-linearity in the story telling, consistency in themes and utter strangeness of this small desert community stole my heart. At the time of writing this, I've listened to every episode upwards of 20 times (at least) over the years, and they haven't lost a bit of their intrigue.

Welcome to Reviews!   (5/5)

I love this podcast! It’s so interesting and very quirky. I love the stories that go along with each episode. There are some episodes that make me think a little harder about life and the universe. The characters are so funny and they are all very complex with many different layers of personality. This podcast is definitely one I would recommend to my friends. It does get a little spooky sometimes but most of the time the “horror level” is mild.

Would be 5 stars   (4/5)

But I just hate the music section of the show!

Oh my god...   (5/5)

... we all need this in our lives

Utterly brilliant   (5/5)

A mixture of Gravity Falls, Twin peaks and NPR, so weird it’s beautiful

This show is amazing   (5/5)

Okay so I started listening to it at four am when I couldn’t sleep. I’m now thankful for my insomnia. I may or may not have listened to all 129 currently released episodes in 10 days. I love the representation of poc and lgbt characters. At first I thought Carlos and Cecil’s relationship would be an unrequited one, as they tend to be in media, but it quickly became a happy love story. They didn’t even mention anything about the fact that they are both men until over 100 episodes in. Also, they are really cute together. Overall, an amazing podcast.

💜   (5/5)

This show has showed me that Weird is not always bad. Or good. But it’s not always bad. Keep it up Cecil. We love you.

Traffic Update   (5/5)

Rubber meets hot pavement as my metal enclosure of terror drives me eternally forward. I don’t know where I’m going— no one knows where they are going. The radio static that had been coaxing blood from my ears glitches once, twice, and then thralls silent. A new voice slinks into the silence, dulcet tones easing my pale-knuckled grip on the steering wheel. Muscles that had been frozen tense since the dawning of my memory melt within me as the tires below continue their unending shuddering revolution. I don’t know where I’m going, and I don’t care. This has been traffic. And now, the weather.

All hail...

Can’t get enough   (5/5)

I wish there were infinite episodes. I could not stop listening to this podcast and got completely caught up within about a month. The only thing I don’t like about Welcome to Nightvale is that there aren’t more episodes and the new ones don’t come out soon enough. My #1 podcast I will love forever.

Please dear god of whatever applies here unsubscribe me   (3/5)

For for the teens, but my brain space is filled with driving, scheduling, feeding, financing that teen, so please let me unsubscribe! Until it can vote on its own, at least?

Mission to Zyxx, you mean perfection   (5/5)

This podcast is hilarious, addicting, and just all out amazing.I have fallen in love with all of the characters, they always give me a laugh and the story is quite enthralling, plus, it is free so why don’t you go ahead and download it but prepare to spend days just sitting in your room listening to these space faring adventurers, and prepare to have a jucking good time.

Best podcast   (5/5)

By far my favorite podcast to listen to. The creators are witty and tell interesting and funny stories that are dark enough to make you think.

Mostly Void Partly Stars   (5/5)

I absolutely love this podcast! It’s my favorite by a long shot, and I would not be a bit mad if I randomly woke up in Night Vale one day.

Amazing   (5/5)

One thing is to never listen at night. 👻

Very Into Science   (5/5)

literally the most amazing podcast ever, i’ve been listening for so long and i’m so glad i’ve stuck around. night vale presents is genius. a total must-listen!

Fun & Quirky, with a side of darkness   (5/5)

Great podcast of around 20 minutes centering around the fictional haunted town of Night Vale and its protagonist radio host.

This is very very very very very very very very good Cecil’s voice is very captivating I am fully addicted to this. but one thing that I would like to see happen is that the weather is not so long or is not even in the podcast. But overall you should definitely listen to this. ALL HAIL!

Love it   (5/5)

I love this it has good humor and makes me feel relaxed when I’m stressed I can listen to it in the car or at home I like true crime and supernatural things but I love this it has good rates and I for sure recommend this for any one who likes comedy and kinda scary things

Good   (5/5)

V glad I relistened and then caught up to this show. So many good interesting changes!

One of my favorites   (5/5)

As a podcast junkie who listens 50 to 60 hours a week while I work, I have given many podcasts a trial run. Most never last more than an episode or two. This one made the cut, and I actually look forward to new episodes.

Love this show, but it’s never this show   (3/5)

I love “Welcome to Nightvale,” but more and more the producers are using this feed to host preview episodes of whatever else they’re working on at the moment. If I wanted to listen to the other stuff, I’d listen to the other stuff. Tell me about it in the announcements and get to the narrative I signed up to listen to.

Love this show   (5/5)

I love this town as my own. I do wish there wasn’t any swearing, not because I am for censorship, but because it makes me personally uncomfortable. Otherwise I love night vale and the people in it.

My favorite   (5/5)

I listen to this podcast every night before bed and I have since it came out nearly 5 years ago! The plots are creative, original, and just the right amount of creepy. The characters go through amazing development and overall great writing. Also, Cecil’s voice is mesmerizing and the most relaxing thing ever. Overall, my favorite!

Hey night vale   (5/5)

I am 10 years old and love this podcast.even though I am young I still love the mom let’s me listen to it even though they cursed on the first episode.thanks for making it and keep it up!😘

Great pod   (5/5)

Funny, spooky, and awesome plot lines!

Amazing   (5/5)

A combination of hilarious, terrifying, and entertaining. You’ll get hooked by the first episode

Yes   (5/5)

This is the podcast that got me hooked on podcasts. It was the first one I ever listened to and it has never stopped delighting me AND creeping me out at the same time. Such an incredible endeavor in storytelling.

NPR in the Twilight Zone   (5/5)

Cecil’s dulcet tones will make you want to visit a place in the desert where dragons can be mayor, angels aren’t real, so don’t give them any money, and ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD. And the weather updates are always nice.

Good show   (5/5)

Welcome to night vale is the best podcast I have came across

Great   (5/5)

I have been listening for many years and it has never failed to amuse me

Best waking dreamscape.   (5/5)

I love falling asleep to this program. They asked us to write reviews, so I'm writing one. Nightvale is clever, fun and a little dark. Cecil has a wonderful voice to to sleep to, and of course he wouldn't try to implant false memories or shape your mind into an endless nightmare of fleeing an unseen, winged and deafeningly silent being.

Perfectly strange/wonderful, and unbelievably good. Cecil’s voice will pull you deep into this town full of hooded figures, angels, and of course Carlos and his amazing hair. (How could you have cut it Telly?!)

Bingeworthy   (5/5)

It’s been 2-3 months since I started listening to WTNV. I tried way back in 2013, but I struggled to focus on it as I cleaned or sat around. Now, years later, I have a desk job and I wanted to find something besides music. WTNV is so fascinating and fun, with an attention to detail. Little things you don’t notice very much pop up several episodes later with new information. It’s quirky and friendly, and I’m often begging my husband to hurry and catch up so I can talk to him about everything going on. I look forward to new episodes!

Fun, Creepy, and Creative   (5/5)

I love this podcast because for every time it makes me laugh it also makes me go "Oh that's interesting". It's a silly story that never takes itself too seriously but continuely builds its own world through unbroken continuity. Love the world its created and the characters that live there.

10/10   (5/5)

Why are you readin this? Listen to it.

Best Creepy Fun   (5/5)

I love this podcast!!!

In love   (5/5)

Love the show!!!

Stupid.   (1/5)

I absolutely despise this podcast and can’t believe the human race is so stupid that they would like this podcast

The best   (5/5)

I’ve been listening to this show since it started, and have always loved it. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started liking it even more, and I’ve never found a better podcast. Listen to this podcast. It’s amazing.

Always Wonderful   (5/5)

It is always ridiculously enjoyable to go back to that wonderful little desert town where I first started my journey into podcasts.

This was suggested to me...   (5/5)

And with that said. This is SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE REAL RADIO! The weather is awesome because it’s music you’ve (or I ) have never heard and it’s great for the drive home as it’s false news that makes you laugh! Keep it coming!!!

🗣 ✋👂   (5/5)

They listen... :)

Surreal   (5/5)

I've never heard something quite like this, it's like the auditory version of a fever dream.

Perfection.   (5/5)

A bizarre little golden nugget that burrows itself into your brain and never leaves. Such a rich world and odd characters, it’s hard not to like. ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD!

Lit   (5/5)

Even more lit

A wild ride from start to finish.   (5/5)

This podcast is amazing! Great humor, great stories. The weather segment is a great way to discover new musical artists (as it’s simply a song). The representation is great. The fandom is small but awesome. If you have a strange sense of humor, no problem listening, and time to kill, I’d 100% recommend Night Vale! All the Best! :)

Best podcast ever!!!!!   (5/5)

We were looking for an awesome podcast to listen to, and we found one! We listened to one episode, and we got hooked. I really recommend this podcast!

This is a one to watch...   (5/5)

If i could rate this more than five stars, i would. trust me when i say that you will fall in love with welcome to night vale. at least, i did!

Definitely a Favorite   (5/5)

Everything about this podcast is great! If like things that are pretty creepy but also kinda funny, you are going to love this radio-show style newscast of the fictional town of Nightvale, bringing you updates on this strange town while creating an interestingly weird universe that you’ll be dying to get more of. I recommend starting to listen from episode 1, because once you hear this enrapturing podcast, you won’t be able to stop yourself from binge-listening to the whole series.

Our town is the best town!   (5/5)

So nice to FINALLY hear a podcast of my beloved hometown. I can’t think of anything better. Well, it would be nice for us to finally be able to eat bread again without having it turn into ravenous spirits... but otherwise, yeah. I used to feel bad for the people in quarantine, but now they can just listen to Cecil and play the flat-screen edition of Trivial Pursuit. Go Nightvale! As always, good night, Nightvale... goodnight...

Good   (5/5)

I live here. I feel like Cecil would be a good friend. I’m right, aren’t I?

Indistinguishable from a Forest Fire   (5/5)

Beautiful in its way, although it is terrifying, powerful, and it redefines the world. The bizarre is mundane and the mundane is bizarre. The writing is spectacular, and some of the most enchanting phrases I’ve ever heard have come from this podcast. This podcast gets re-listened-to often, and it’s always a good day when a new episode releases. Give Night Vale a listen: the only thing you’ll regret is that you didn’t do it sooner.

If you like things that are strange, you'll probably like Welcome to Night Vale   (5/5)

I love WtNV! It's funny, & quirky, & the characters are very endearing. (Especially the host Cecil.) I can understand where it wouldn't be for everyone though.

Still great   (5/5)

Wonderfully fun, creepy, and surprisingly human story telling.

Perfect Gibberish   (5/5)

Perfect gibberish, at once meaningless and profound. Or, the creative diarrhea of one who truly enjoyed X-Files. Maybe both. Either way, I hope we launch this collection of Sacksian (Oliver, not Harvey) parables into space. First impressions are everything.

The gateway podcast   (5/5)

This was my gateway podcast. If you’re looking to get into audio dramas this is a great one to start with. It’s set up as a radio show from a fictional town full of strange and slightly horrifying things. Despite the light horror elements it’s still a comedy and often gets me to actually laugh out loud. Throughout the show I’ve gotten extremely attached to the characters as they’ve been developed throughout over 100 episodes. Don’t be intimidated by how many episodes there are. You don’t need to listen to all of them to catch up, you can go to their website and find their recommended episodes so you know what’s going on. The writers for this show are amazing and never cease to come up with the most amazing storylines. I’ve been listening to this podcast for about 5 years and I don’t plan to stop until the show stops

Move to town, you won’t be disappointed   (5/5)

I’d love to invite you all. This is a spectacular serialized story where the listeners are citizens of one of the most amazing towns. If you are a fan of the strange, slightly disturbing, or just plain weird, then this town is definitely for you. Honestly, I’m impressed how well this is written. This town grows more interesting every week, while they keep within the rules they’ve established and have yet to come close to being painted into a corner

Good tales   (5/5)

My first podcast, always glad to listen to it on my way to work

How long have I been here!?!   (5/5)

Exquisitely written and wonderfully imaginative! What starts out as a humorously random fictional radio show in the middle of nowhere turns into to a perfect mix of creepy and mysterious that leaves you listening to the entire thing in one continuous chorus until you find yourself stranded in a desert wondering how and when you got did I get here???? Please if you’re reading this send help!!!

Long time listener   (5/5)

I’ve been listening for about 2 years now and nightvale has never stopped entertaining.

Amazing   (5/5)

Over the course of a week and a half I listened to all 121 episodes. I couldn't put it down. Utterly fantastic.

Perfect   (5/5)

To the writers and voices of Welcome to Nightvale: Please never stop making these episodes. Listening to this podcast is one of my favorite things to do and always makes me so happy, everything about it is so perfect. It is such a wonderfully written and produced show in all aspects, not to mention the voice and talent of Cecil is simply unmatched. I will always be excited for more Nightvale content, I’ve read both novels as well!

its ok!   (3/5)

it feels like this story has gone on longer than maybe it was intended, but its still fun to listen to.

So. Much. YES.   (5/5)

The perfectly absurd blend of wry commentary on daily life in society, poignant poetry and nonsensical science fiction.

doesnt need another positive review   (5/5)

but here it is

Can't stop listening   (5/5)

Long time fan of the series. Recommend all podcasts produced by the Welcome to Night Vale team.

My absolute favorite podcast ever   (5/5)

And maybe my favorite anything ever too. The novels are in my Amazon cart and the next time the live tour comes to Phoenix, I'll be there! Cecil and his town are so layered and well written that you feel like everything is really happening. Also completely hilarious, terrifying, inspiring, and heartbreaking all in equal parts.

Full of heart, literally and metaphorically   (5/5)

Is it a narration of a nightmare or tales of a strange and beautiful desert town? Who knows. But I love it.

Does this need explaining?   (5/5)

Does anything need explaining? What is explaining, And can anyone explain explaining to me? What?

Weird and beautiful   (5/5)

Thank you for everything you've made and for getting me into podcast.

Love from Mitchagone   (5/5)

I don’t live in Mishagan, I don’t live anywhere. This podcast has left an impact on me that will resonate throughout the universe. Can’t wait for more as I finished this morning and don’t know what to do with my life. Huh.

Not sure if you should listen to Night Vale? Definitely!   (5/5)

There is simply no better podcast out there! I like to imagine I’m a citizen of Night Vale (Nightvalian?) and I’m listening to the local radio station. If you like laughing out loud, and shivers down your spine, Night Vale is right for you! Has anyone else ever noticed there’s no episode 63?

<3   (5/5)

What got me into podcasts in the first place. Still good after all this time

Favorite Podcast   (5/5)

The writers and team involved in this podcast are truly amazing. This podcast is so original and captivating. I have yet to be disappointed by a single episode and I don’t expect that to ever change.

Amazing!   (5/5)

This podcast is great! I’m only on episode three, and I’m here to let the management know that I appreciate Mr. Reporters work!

This is Great   (5/5)

Take a break from political podcasts, this is great for breaking the mood, takes me somewhere else with its quirkiness. Always entertaining.

Brilliant   (5/5)

Weird Fiction At Its Best   (5/5)

When it comes to weird fiction and/or the mundane supernatural (especially in the form of podcasts), there’s nothing which beats Welcome to Night Vale. An absolute classic that everyone should listen to.

Interestingly Weird and Entertaining   (5/5)

I started listening to this not long ago, and all I can say is that I love this podcast. It’s so calm, but so interesting and weird that it’s entertaining. I would love to listen to this podcast over and over if I could.

Love it!!!   (5/5)

It's really fun to listen to and always is fun to look forward to new episodes that will come out!

agh such a quality podcast   (5/5)

this is such a good podcast!!! i love listening to it while studying or writing. it’s so fun to listen to and get to know the characters through only audio!! great quality and really super interesting. ps cecilos forever ;))

Well informed   (5/5)

Everyday news and events in Night Vale have a wonderful home with a great host on this pod.

What a waste of time.   (1/5)

Bad acting and dry monotonous voices. It’s a dude reading the news about the town. The news and stories are clever, however this show is complete garbage and I am shocked by how many people like it. - Douglas Matthison

New addiction   (5/5)

I fell in love with this odd show a few weeks ago, I'm so disappointed I never checked it out before! It is perfect.

Wonderful   (5/5)

This podcast is really funny and awesome! My only thought is that I personally am not a fan of the weather. But that’s my only complaint I really like this show! Please keep making more! Also my favorite episode of all time is Street cleaning day!

A must listen   (5/5)

Love love love, it's like someone made an alternate universe of the lake woebegone from prairie home companion that I grew up listening to!

Amazing!!!   (5/5)

I love this show! It's funny and creepy with some really good ideas and some really heartwarming moments. All in all a really amazing show.

Awesome   (5/5)

I’ve only heard about 40 episodes so far, but I must say that this podcast is wonderful. Many thanks to Peyton who first recommended it to me.

My #1   (5/5)

This is the first podcast that I ever listened to! I started listening back in the old days when I was still in High School and there were only 5 episodes out in the world. This is a real testament to how fantastic this podcast is: I still enjoy every episode as much as I have the one before. Welcome to Night Vale has given me happiness in my darkest times, and I can only hope that this review reaches another sad, hopeless person and convinces them to begin listening to the story of the incredible goings on of this scientifically interesting desert town.

NOICE!   (5/5)

One of the most interesting podcasts, and forms of media in general. A rivoting story.

Wonderful Podcast   (5/5)

Sort of a mash-up between Twin Peaks and WKRP in Cincinnati. Creepy and silly and, at times, hauntingly beautiful.

Addicting   (5/5)

Welcome to Night Vale is a creepy and unique show featuring characters you love and those you love to hate. Cecil's dulcet tones make my work days bright. Nothing beats a weather report like the one you hear on Night Vale's community radio.

Really??????   (1/5)

Wow this is horrible!!

Good but not the best   (4/5)

Night Vale is an excellent intro to fiction podcasts, but is not even close to the best fiction podcast out there. A lot of people really love this podcast but honestly, there are better podcasts on its own network. Alice Isn't Dead, Orbiting Human Circus, Within the Wires, and It Makes a Sound are all better, deeper, and weirder than Night Vale. Other podcasts worth checking out are The Thrilling Adventure Hour (which is finished) and The Magnus Archives. Other fiction podcasts deserve some of the attention this one is getting. So definitely listen to this one, but do not stop with this one.

I was a bit hesitant to get into this podcast, to be honest. Sometimes, creepy things can leave me unsettled & end up giving me a sense of being ill at ease for hours after I watch or listen to them. However, I took a chance, and man am I glad I did. I found a podcast that’s the right combination of comedy and creepy, and with a cast that portrays roles with such depth that I’ve found myself crying over Carlos and Cecil (BIG props for having a gay couple, tbh. I can’t tell you what that means to me as a queer person!). This is, by far, the best podcast I’ve ever listened to, and I love everything about it!

a story about you.   (5/5)

it is the winter. you are always sad in the winter-your therapist says it’s because your family is so distant, but you don’t trust her-but this year it’s different. you long for something, anything to get you through the next few months. you walk to get a coffee. a man approaches you and gives you an envelope full of mantises. arranged in order, they spell N I G H T V A L E. you run a google search and find a town in the desert-hot sun, beautiful moon, mysterious lights, sleepless citizens. you travel there during the winter when you are sad, and when you are there in the winter you are not sad anymore.

A Home for the Weird   (5/5)

If conformity bores you, Night Vale is a great place to run away to. A friendly, desert community where every conspiracy theory is true and every traffic report is hauntingly beautiful. The writers and the cast are absolutely wonderful, the diversity is a refreshing change of pace from the norm of white-washed, patriarchal heteronormitivity, and the weather has introduced me to some great musical artists who I never would have found otherwise.

Good creepy fun   (5/5)

A captivating world with a lovable radio host. Often sarcastic and witty it always leaves me wanting more.

Amazing   (5/5)

Even though Welcome to Night Vale has been running for five and a half years (I personally have been listening for about 3.5 years), it still has the ability to catch me off guard with how funny, creative, and occasionally heartwarming it can be. I'm always impressed with how, despite how long the show's been running, the major conflicts of each season are completely different and always lead the show in new and interesting directions. There's a reason Welcome to Night Vale is wildly successful; the excellent writing and acting always has me coming back for more.

Funny and weird but sometimes the same?   (4/5)

I like this a lot, but sometimes it feels like the same thing sometimes. funny, but I guess I wanted a little more out of it at times

The best   (5/5)

Favorite podcast for just chilling out

The first podcast I ever listened to   (5/5)

Now I subscribe to like 50. Look at what you did.

Welcome to a Review   (5/5)

Man, the 1 star reviews are filled with people who are.. bitter? Salty? Angry that they don't like this podcast and that others do? Anyways, long over due review and rating here, cause podcasts live and die on that stuff. Very strange, too strange at times, but a fun listen over the years. They have a style that probably wouldn't work elsewhere or with a different case behind it. Stay strange Night Vale!

Still Great   (5/5)

Night Vale has enjoyed a lot of popularity lately, but it still brings it every episode. You can tell the creators care about their weird little town and its inhabitants. I no longer feel like an interloper! Thanks for the hours of enjoyable content!
